Kalkrin shook his shoulders. He was being exceptionally idiotic today. He swallowed. "Uh yeah I'm... My race... I don't... Oh for f*cks sake I'M NOT HUMAN OKAY?" Kalkrin took a deep breath. No need to yell at the crying girl. Even though he wasn't yelling at her, just... to her. Wait, crying? Kalkrin looked down and saw tears. He panicked. "Uh... Uh... I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you... Um... You..." Kalkrin continued panicking. How does one deal with a crying stranger? "You can call me Kally if you really want to!" He stated in a panicky tone. So don't talk about parents or thunderstorms, kay Kalkrin?

The yelling was kinda sorta maybe making things just a teensy-weensy bit worse. Ronnie usually took these things to heart, whether or not they were intended to be taken that way, and she was trying her hardest not to cry even harder than she already was. Honest. The girl quivered a little bit more, and she wondered silently why Kal still had his arm around her if he was upset. "I-I'm sorry, I was just... Just wondering..." she said, stumbling over her words. The blonde lifted her hands to her eyes and shook her head at the rest of what Kalkrin had to say. She was becoming confused, and adding that to all of her other emotions... Well, boy, you are in for a ride. "I'm sorry! It just slipped out!" she managed to say, possibly missing what he had said just before commenting on the nickname. Ronnie turned her face to the side to hide it from Kal's view and mentally berated herself. This was turning into such a mess, and it was all her fault.

Kalkrin's eyes grew wide. Oh SH*T. He made her cry more. Naturally Kalkrin had no clue what to do, so he did what felt wrong. Stopping, he turned the girl toward him and hugged her. "I... I didn't mean to yell at you, I just yell at everyone all of the time. That's why my family hates me..." He said with a grimace. He actually felt a little bad for yelling.

Ronnie went stock-still as soon as Kalkrin turned her and hugged her. That was... Not expected. At all. The sad, confused, and hurt girl looked up to Kal, her blue eyes watery as they sought out the answer for why he was doing this. She frowned deeply as soon as her eyes landed on his expression, and his words broke her a little on the inside. "I... I... I doubt they hate you, Kalkrin..." she said, looking back down and sniffling. She sighed heavily and debated on whether or not she should hug the kid back. "And it's okay... I'm the one who should be sorry. You don't deserve to deal with this, I kinda just forced myself on you," she said quietly, a nervousness in her voice. She knew that what she was saying was true.

So this girl was too nice. Tooooooooooooooooo nice. Kalkrin hated it. And by hated, he totally loved it. And by totally love, I mean totally confused by it. He didn't know he loved it yet. He just knew it was a better feeling than when his family or someone is yelling back at him, and that this was a rare feeling. The boy continued hugging her despite her reasoning. It was almost like he was trying to comfort himself in this hug too. "I kinda piss them off always. I piss myself off too though," he said as quiet as he could. Despite the rain, he felt warm, and this girl felt freezing cold. So of course he wanted to warm her. "Yeah you did." He continued. "But if I didn't want to help, I would've left you alone," Kalkrin realized it was true. He actually WANTED to help this girl, and to know her. What?

It was becoming harder and harder to resist hugging Kalkrin back. Ronnie was trembling still, but it was shifting more into shivering from the cold rather than shaking from fear. She was definitely aware that it was still raining out. Slowly, the girl moved her hands up, returning the hug and soaking up the warmth that seemed to radiate from Kal. She instantly felt ten times better. "How could you possibly feel that way... About yourself? You're... Too nice..." she mumbled into his shirt. How could Kalkrin say that? Then again, she barely knew him. Who knew how much she had yet to learn. Ronnie sighed quietly again and nodded, a little reluctant in the gesture. She still felt bad... "I... I guess... Thank you, Kal," she said softly, her hands unconsciously twining themselves into his wet shirt.

Kalkrin chuckled bitterly. She thought he was NICE? No. Nice people have a reason to live. They aren't this miserable. They are most DEFINITELY not him. He tightened his grip around Veronica when he felts her hands clench his shirt. He was so utterly confused. His hands unconsciously fiddled with her hair. Kalkrin had a bad habit of fidgeting, and it didn't stop here. "It's fine I guess. You... Yeah it's fine." Kalkrin wondered why this girl hadn't inquired more about him being non-human. Maybe this meant she too wasn't human? For some reason Kalkrin couldn't explain, this made him a teensy bit happy.

A little sound escaped the girl as Kal tightened his grip around her. It wasn't necessarily one of discomfort, or fright... As the boy began to play with her hair, Ronnie suddenly began to calm, just as she had done the other time he played with it. It was weird... Maybe her more animal-like side kicking in. Ronnie nodded slightly in response to his words. She believed him... For now. A thought struck her mind, and she glanced up as she voiced it. "Kal.. Mm..." she paused. She was going to ask what race he was exactly, for her curiosity had piqued at the mention of it, but she didn't want to upset him again. "Um, nevermind. You won't get sick being out here in the rain, right?" she asked, flinching slightly as faint thunder cracked in the distance.

The boy sighed and remained looking at the horizon. It was so freaking dark out. More grey but eh. "What? Oh. I don't think I can even get sick." He wondered what she was about to say, then realized he was playing with her hair and stopped, blushing. "Sorry, didn't mean to... Mess with your hair..."

Ronnie blinked. He was lucky if he could never get sick. "Oh... I'm not too fortunate..." the girl said, a small smile coming onto her lips. It faded a little when Kal pulled his hands away from her hair. "It's... It's okay," she said, a little timidly now. She felt her cheeks go warm and she looked down to her feet, looking at the size difference between them and Kal's. "I... Um... I kinda liked it. I don't mind if you play with my hair..." God, this was embarrassing. Why was she telling him this? Subject change. "If you can't get sick, then what exactly are you?" she asked, the question just slipping out on accident. Just like the nickname. Oops.

Kalkrin weirded himself out big time. He hugged her and then played with her hair, it was all too much. The nineteen-year-old almost pulled the girl off of him and reevaluated his entire existence, which he does regularly. But he just... Couldn't. She was in too much chaos and fearfulness to let go of. Since when did Kalkrin care about other people's problems? Surely not now, even to this sweet, beautiful girl. "I... Oushaga. It's a weird... I don't know if you've ever even heard of it." Once again Kalkrin began playing with her hair, inadvertently of course. He readjusted his coat on her, because he could feel the wind pull it open despite the hug. Trying not to mer her gaze, Kalkrin took it of of Veronica a brief moment and held it open for her to put her arms through, then zipped it up. He didn't know for sure whether to hug her again... So he awkwardly stood there like a doof.

Oushaga... Ronnie shook her head. "No, I've never heard of your kind... I... Um... I'm sure you've heard of mine before," she said. "I'm a shapeshifter, nothing too fancy or special," she said softly. He told her, so she told him. It was only fair. Another blush grazed her cheeks as Kalkrin went from playing with her hair again, to fixing the coat on her, and then ultimately just putting it on her entirely. As weird as it may sound, his coat smelled really good... The girl blinked up at Kal and smiled a little, her blue eyes losing their half-crazed edge. "Thank you," she said again. Man, she was getting redundant.

Kalkrin shrugged. "I didn't think you would. No one has heard of it," he tilted his head and nodded. Shapeshifters sound like they could have a lot of fun. "Cool. Shape shifters can be any shape right?"He asked. The boy rolled his eyes. "Stop saying thank you for the love of God, I get it, I'm being nice, you're grateful, but I don't deserve this many f*cking thank yous!" The Oushaga had managed not to raise his voice. Sure he wasn't yelling or trying to be a dick, but he still was sometimes. Most of the time. All of the time.

"So you guys aren't common...?" Ronnie asked, turning her eyes up to Kal. His question made a giggle escape her lips. "We can become whatever animal we like. For example-" The girl suddenly seemed to disappear. In her place was a small, golden retriever puppy. The only giveaway that it was her was its big, blue eyes. Ronnie tilted her head up to Kalkrin then shifted back into her human figure. She settled her blonde hair with one hand and then looked back to the boy, her expression frozen and her eyes a little hurt. "O-oh... I'm... Um, sorry..." she said, unable to help herself. Ronnie quickly looked down and away. She always managed to screw things up.

Kalkrin shook his head. They weren't common at all. "The only Oushaga's I know is my family and the Seskrit family," he spoke the word Seskrit with a grimace. Dumb whores. His face changed when Ronnie went into a puppy form. How did she... "I freaking love d-" and then she was back, freaking out because he got angry. Goddammit. Had he been making eye contact... Kalkrin still wouldn't have been able to see her hurt. He was just that stupid. "No! UGH F*CK ME," he shook his head again and groaned. "No, don't apologize... I'm an asshole okay? No matter what I say it's going to sound douchey. That's why everyone hates me, and why I don't ever bother trying to help people anymore, because they just hate me too and-" he paused, facepalming. "I'm confessing all of this to an utter stranger who doesn't even care."
