John was feeling a little nervous as he pulled up to the local hospital with his partner. He couldn’t really shake off the anxiety that was growing in his gut since he left the agency earlier that day. And who could blame him? It wasn’t like John was going to a convention, he wasn’t coming out here to do an interview, working for the Game Station, getting ready for a podcast, or doing something for one of his youtube channels. Today was his first task for a top secret government agency and he hadn’t a clue what he was doing. To be fair, Jesse told him not to worry too much over it; no one in their group knew what they were doing. John had to wonder just how the hell Jesse’s new group managed to stay alive as long as they did. The group was around the oddest bunch of misfits in the PIDA, and this was coming from TB. He was no stranger to odd people; he had enough friends that he worked with on a daily basis. Even TB had to admit that he was not completely normal himself, and this was before he found out about himself and decided to help his friend out while learning just how to control this new power he had.
But these guys were unique. Like him and Jesse the group were all popular youtubers, all of them were let’s players, people that uploaded playthroughs of games and got popular through that. TB wasn’t much of a fan of LPers but the guys weren’t too bad once he got to know them. Even Pewdiepie, who’s LPing style was at best annoying as hell John had grown to like. They weren’t bad but they were by no means normal. All of them had some kind of unique power of their own. And most of them couldn’t control what power they had. With the exception of Pewdie who could use his summoning abilities whenever he pleased (but for good reason never wanted to) their unique powers worked basically whenever they wanted to. It was amazing that they could get anything done the way they were. Yet again, maybe it was because of their randomness that they could function to some degree. As a team they were surprisingly organized, they divided the work evenly and split up to work on different assignments, but kept contact with each other in the event shit hit the fan they could cover each other’s back. At least on that front they were doing something right, so John didn’t need to worry that much about what they were doing right now.
And what was Totalbiscuit doing right now you might ask? Well, he was looking for a lead on a big assignment his group picked up awhile ago. Jesse had given him a run down on this case a few days before he had officially signed up to become an PIDA agent, and then his new partner filled him on whatever Jesse forgot to mention. A few months ago the group picked up a case about a hellhound and two shapeshifters that attacked and killed a woman in public. The incident was big enough to cause a panic for a few weeks, and had been a mess to try and cover up. The culprits though seemed to have vanished after that. The case went cold after that and had almost been forgotten about. That was until Jesse, Toby, and James ran into the hellhound after they picked the case up. Though the hellhound got away his presence here meant one thing…they were still here, and they were still dangerous. Despite what happened that day it was the ray of hope the group needed to keep going.
Sadly after that fight with the hellhound the trail grew cold again. But it wouldn’t be that way for long. The second that John joined the rest of the group he started looking for possible leads to their suspects and found one that he thought was pretty solid. “Here we are.” He told his partner Nova as he parked the car in the parking lot of the hospital. After stepping out and locking the car he looked over to the hospital and turned to his partner. James, or Nova as his fans called him, was the man he would spend the rest of his time in the agency working with. It couldn’t be helped, before TB joined the group was uneven and someone had to work alone, unfortunately for James he ended up being the one stuck out by himself. The man was the strangest one in the group (even stranger than Cry who wore a mask 24/7) though he looked completely normal he did and said some crazy stuff. Even his kinds name was called psycho. He took some getting used to but John knew he was dependable, and smart too, if he felt like being that way.
“From what I heard four days ago a young woman was brought into the emergency room after being attacked by a bear. No one knew who she was, and they claimed that there were no medical records to be found on her. But the physical description matches that of the female shifter that you and the others have been trying to track down. And some time after she arrived, a man matching the description of the hellhound caused a ruckus when he tried to carry her off. If this lead is correct then we might be able to catch the girl today. Just remember to be careful when we approach her. She might be hurt but she’s more of a wild animal than human, and if she is anything like the hell dog you faced before she won’t hesitate to rip our heads off…are you ready?”

Nova hated hospitals. Not many things scared him- he'd faced a hellhound and some crazy chick accompanying him who’d held a gun before at point blank range and hadn't broken a sweat. He was also the only guy in the group who could handle The Bro without pissing himself. But hospitals? Those things were just... Gross. So much sickness, death, and down right disgustingness. Hardly hearing John's words, Nova's eyes were locked on the supposedly sterile building in front of them. Shaking his head, Nova rolled his eyes. TB was being so formal. "I doubt she'll be able to do too much of anything. It's the hellhound we should be worried about. And that bear attack... It doesn't make sense. She's a shapeshifter, shouldn't she have been able to turn into a bear or whatever, or at least something fast to get away?" Nova paused as he too stepped out of the car.
Maybe she only had one form? But if that was the case then whatever form it was should’ve been some sort of aid to get away from this bear. And the doctors had assumed/i] it was a bear attack. There was no evidence. Maybe the other shapeshifter had attacked Akeelah. Or worse, the hellhound himself. "I don't have a good feeling about this one bit." Reaching into the vehicle to grab his prosthetic leg, Nova ran his hand through his hair. “Do we have a plan? I highly doubt they’d just let us waltz right in there after having the girl technically almost kidnapped.” Nova peered at the many windows. Looking through each one, the Psychopath felt a strange feeling as he looked into one. He had an idea that one was Akeelah’s.
Nova wasn’t in his right state of mind. Being this close to such a building as the hospital was taking a toll on him, and Nova knew it. Why he was so freaked out still remained a mystery to the youngster, but it didn’t matter. Of course he wouldn’t be so terrified as to impair the mission, but he couldn’t help but feel the heebie jeebies. He’d been to the hospital too many times to count for his stupidity- Poor Nova had probably broken every bone in his body. If one looked close enough they could find a good sized scar on his head beneath the black hair from jumping off the top of the basketball hoop as a kid. He’d managed to land on the car head first, The neighbor’s car, that is. Said neighbors to this day still haven’t fixed the dent in their car’s roof, and this was some 12ish years ago.
Taking a breath, Nova gave a nervous laugh. “Heh, ready when you are, partner. Let’s try not to get ourselves mauled to pieces, kay?”

“If the medical staff here is smart they would make sure to keep anyone else from getting to their patient after that last incident.” The man said. Any decent hospital would go through any length to protect their patients. A kidnapping brought bad PR, not to mention could very well endanger the patient. After what happened with the girl there was bound to be security around her just to make sure that it wouldn’t happen again, little good that would do them though, if either a hellhound or a rapid wolf tried to fight their way through though. Even with guns, the hospital was ill-equipped to handle an attack from large beasts. Still, if their targets were smart they wouldn’t risk drawing that much attention to themselves just to rescue one of their own. “I doubt that we need to worry about anyone else for now. I highly doubt we will have to worry much about the girl if she is who we think she is. But you never know, since we aren’t dealing with a normal woman here.”
Just how different were shapeshifters from humans? …besides the obvious one, John had no idea. John had never met a shapeshifter before. He didn’t know what they were capable of, or how human they acted either. It wasn’t like he could rely much on the things he had seen and heard in books, tv shows, and movies. This was real life; things could be different from what it was like in fiction. But he had to agree with Nova on this one, this whole bear attack didn’t make sense. “I don’t know if she is supposed to have more than one form, the report only said that she could turn into a leopard. I doubt a leopard could take on a bear by itself…assuming that it was a bear anyway. It’s more likely she was attacked by something else.”
He almost wanted to say that she had to have been attacked by one of the other two but he couldn’t. The idea that her own allies attacked her was almost as ridiculous as the bear theory. Why would the other two want to attack her? What reason would they have to betray her? Unless everything that they knew about this case was wrong. Totalbiscuit couldn’t rule out that possibility. When the group started working on this case they knew literally nothing about what caused the incident, who the criminals were, or where they could be. Common sense told them that the trio had left the city months ago. Yet they bumped into one of them by chance, and here he and Nova were about to stumble on the second one. There was something about the whole thing that felt wrong. Was this case a simple murder case, or was there something more to it? Well, if things went well today they just might find out the answer to that.
“Yes I have a plan.” The man replied to his partner’s question. It was a pretty simple one at that too. “When we go up to the desk to ask about the patient, we flash our badges and we explain to them that the girl is an important witness to a crime, and had to be put under the witness protection program. Now we are just dropping by to see if she is well enough to take back into custody. Even if they refuse to let us see the patient at first one call to the office and we can get a warrant in a matter of minutes.” It was a decent plan at least. It would be hard to pose as friends of the patient and get permission to see her that way. And this way if she was the girl they were looking for they could take her in right away with few questions. “You can let me do all the talking if you want. I trust that you have your badge right?”
Maybe he should do all the talking for this one. It wasn’t like he was worried that the younger man would screw them over or anything like that. Though James had a habit of being random at times (then again who in their circle of friends wasn’t random?), but he was smart and dependable, enough so that he worked pretty well on his own. Surely having a partner wouldn’t slow the younger man down. But Nova seemed a little out of it, more so than usual. John had to wonder if something was wrong with him. It wasn’t like James to get nervous, yet he looked a little uncomfortable as he stared at the building. “I take it that you aren’t a fan of hospitals?” John’s gaze drifted back to the hospital. It had to be where they were going that was bothering his partner, it wasn’t like James to be nervous over meeting some injured girl, supernatural or not. Who could blame him really? Quite a few people were scared of places like this. TB gave him a reassuring pat on the back. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll just go in there and get this over with quickly, and even if something happens I will be right there to help you alright?”
((Because this post was a bit longer than I thought it would be I am ending it here, but if you want me to have them go into the building and to the receptionist desk before you post let me know and I will add that part in.))

Shaking his head, Nova pondered and hung on John's words like a spider to its web. He did bring up some valid points. If she did have only one form, being the leopard, there was no way she could've fended off the bear, at least not with huge gashes more abundant than what she has now. But she Akeelah could have very well ran. This man was full of questions. He didn't expect John to know the answer to hardly any, if he knew the answers at all. But one thing kept nagging Nova. The thought of this shapeshifter and a bear attack didn't add up. Was Nova obsessed to figure out just how she got the wounds even before they spoke to the girl? Maybe. It wasn't unlike Nova to want to figure things out for himself with what he already had. His random thought processes came in handy for things like this- it very well helped the man think of any and all possibilities, no matter how probable or impossible they seemed. Nova decided to calculate the odds of some major clues they might be missing, ones that could very well put the puzzle together. Or at least get that outline. Once the outside pieces are found, its millions of times easier to fill in the rest. Everyone knew that. - There were some couple hundred-ish bears in the town
- They had miles of woods, probably well over several hundred miles
- Its currently winter- bears should be hibernating
- A leopard could outrun a bear any day
- Akeelah obviously isn't stupid if she has yet to be captured by the PIDA
Purging into the thoughts more, Nova considered another possibility. A wolf could have left that gash on her, though that's far less likely than the bear. Although... One of her accomplices was a wolf shifter. Felines and canines didn't exactly get along well. They were natural enemies in every form. Well, every NATURAL form. Shapeshifters didn't exactly apply here. Nova did not know their mindset and how human their interactions were in their alternate form But if the same rules applied to shifters, a leopard could outrun a wolf. Given this is considering Akeelah chose to ran as opposed to sticking around to fight. But why would she stick around? If she had gotten into a fight, where was the other body, the one she had fought with? Did she not do enough damage to he or she? Nova shook his head. Too many unanswered questions. Nova retreated his scattered thoughts back into the disorganization of his mind. "Well from what I've gathered, John, this ain't no bear."Nova was relieved to hear TB had a plan. He shrugged. Nova loved talking, but he loved being quiet just as much. So it didn't bother Nova who spoke and who didn't one bit. Nodding slowly, Nova picked through his pockets. When he didn't feel the cool metal of the badge, he panicked a little. I know I had it a second ago... The man thought. Peering inside the vehicle, Nova didn't see it there either. Shaking his head in agitation, Nova scowled. Right before the young Psycho could get too upset, he felt a lump in his breast pocket. Slowly pulling out the badge, Nova smiled idiotically. "Badge acquired. Proceeding onward with mission." a childlike smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He was doing his best to not let this whole hospital thing get to him. Obviously his fear was showing, though. "Heh yeah. I guess its just one of those things that give you the creeps for no real good reason. I'll be fine though," he confirmed. And he would. Just a little daunted is all. Inwardly, Nova was shocked John was so understanding. Any of the other guys would have most likely teased him- which didn't really bother the Psychopath since he knew it was in good fun. But still. Totalbiscuit just knew what it was like to have an unnecessary fear, Nova guessed. Or maybe he just knew Nova wasn't the type to be afraid of most things. It was only human for Nova to not want to enter a building where death literally lingered around every corner as well as diseases and other "non-sterile" things. Rather than spending too much time on it, the man ran his hands through his hair again and thought. "Sounds good." Unsure of what to do next, he thought it best to start headed toward the hospital. Muttering to himself about how unclean and disgusting hospitals were, he casually strolled toward the door. Holding the stainless steel handle, the man let his partner go first. Nova then walked in behind TB and waited beside him at the receptionist desk. One could only hope John could get them in. And if the girl here refused, Nova would do his best to hone his powers and confuse her. It would be tricky for the man, though, to avoid confusing himself and John as well. Poor Nova hadn't had much training other than a few tests on what his powers do and how concentration was key. The PIDA didn't exactly know how to deal with his ability considering they'd never seen his kind before. Except, Nova didn't have a 'kind'. He was just a regular human with a sixth sense, is all.

There were so many questions that were forming in both the men’s minds before they could even get started on this mission. It was hard not to think about the case in this much detail. From the very beginning there was so little known about the case, it was a surprise that they had gotten anywhere with it at all. But as things moved on, and more clues were being discovered the questions only grew. Who were these people? Why did they attack that woman in public? What were they still doing in the city? And more questions on top of that. It was enough to drive a man insane. It sure drove Jesse crazy. John had listen to Jesse talk about the one suspect they managed to find first, and there was still a lot of confusion surrounding the hellhound alone. Then there were the other two. If this mysterious girl happened to be the elusive shapeshifting cat that they were looking for then why was she here? Out of all the places that they could’ve found her in it was shocking that they’d find her here in a hospital. The whole thing just didn’t make sense.
But John and James weren’t here to ponder about that. They were here to get custody of a suspect. Arresting the shapeshifter was top priority. Her partner had already proven to be dangerous enough, so John wasn’t going to underestimate this girl. Injured or not, she was wanted for murder, it was not likely that she wouldn’t try to pull something if she could to get out of their grasp. All John could do right now was hope that she was in no condition to do so. With his plan laid out, and Nova now sure that he had his badge on hand they were ready to go. The man smiled at his partner. “Good, let’s do this!” he said before heading towards the building. What little nervousness he had been feeling before was slowly vanishing with each step. It was alright, he could do this, theycould do this. They just had to act like professionals. That was a simple enough task for John; he was naturally serious when he needed to be. If anything he had to just keep an eye on his partner just in case his phobia got the better of him.
Soon the men stepped inside the building together and made their way to the receptionist desk, where a fairly attractive middle aged woman greeted them. “Hi, I am Agent Blaine,” John pulled out his badge for the woman to see. “And this is my partner Agent Willis. We are here to see one of your patients that were admitted here recently.” The man pulled out the picture of the shapeshifting girl and handed it over to the receptionist. “Has this girl here?” The woman looked over the picture and nodded. Bingo! They had the right person after all. “Can you tell us what room she is staying at right now?”
“Certainly.” The woman said, “The patient should be in room 3-B. If you head left from here you can take the elevator and her room should be a few doors down.”
“Is it possible to speak to the doctor looking after her as well?” he asked, though John was sure that they had the right person now it wouldn’t hurt to talk to the doctor. After all, they needed to know if they could take the girl in right away now that they had found her. It also wouldn’t hurt to ask the doctor about the attempted kidnap as well.
“I think the one looking after her is Doctor Ryan. I can call him down to see you if you’d like.”
“That would be helpful thank you.” John said before turning to his partner. “Do you want me to talk to the doctor for a bit while you go see our little friend? Or would you rather do it?” he asked. John didn’t really want to leave the younger man on his own in this place, but they could get more done if they split up. Like it or not someone had to go and keep an eye out on the shapeshifter just in case she caught wind of their arrival and tried to make a run for it. If the hellhound had tried to carry her out of the hospital because he knew that they were coming, it wouldn’t surprise Totalbiscuit if the girl wasn’t already planning a way to escape if she could manage it.

Nova happily bounded after his partner, despite entering a hospital. Ah, nothing like the smell of death and disease to really wake a guy up, he thought bitterly. The black haired 'adult' stood patiently beside TB as the other man spoke. Well he seemed to know what he was doing, and without sharing the burden of ADHD with Nova, John seemed pretty focused and calm too. Or did he have ADD? Wait... What was the difference again? ADHD and ADD were the same, except for that pesky little H. That damn H always messing stuff up. Nova thought harder. ADHD- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Or something like that. Maybe it was just Hyperactive. Either way, Nova was very hyper, but not so much active. So maybe he was just ADD. But that doesn’t make sense, aren’t ADD people super hyper too? What the hell? Now Nova was just confusing himself, and he wasn’t even using his powers.
“Huh? Uh...” Nova stuttered, trying to pull whatever it was John had said out of his subconscious so he could answer him. “Err... Sure?” Nova cocked his head and squinted in utter confusion. He’d heard “doctor” and “talk to our little friend”. Trying not to look like more of an idiot than he already appeared to be, Nova shrugged. “I could, um, go talk to Akeelah?” After a moment, the young man felt the need to add, “Don’t worry about me though. I’ll be fine by myself.” It was true. Nova could pull himself together enough to be able to see the girl and be on his own. It’s not like the hospital scared him to the point he could hardly breathe or function. Given Nova could barely function anyway, what with his constant babbling and ignorance. Still. ‘Agent Willis’ was a smart man, whether he showed all the time or not.
“What do you want me to do, though? Just... Talk to her? Ask her questions? Something maybe non-awkward?” he teased slightly. Nova could sympathize with Akeelah- she was in the hospital for some unknown reason and was about to be bothered by two strangers, one of which made things awkward very easily whilst the other was just plain ‘to-the-point’ and ready for action. The latter being TB, of course. Pondering, James followed after Totalbiscuit as the somewhat attractive receptionist came around the desk. If he had heard right, the girl had said room 3... D? 3-B? No it had to be 3-D. And Doctor Ryan was the man that was taking care of the shapeshifter. Nova waited as she called him down.
Upon Dr. Ryan’s arrival, Nova managed a smile and wave before turning to TB. “Mkay? 3-D right? Okay good. I got this. I’ll meet you back here in a little bit, or whatever. Off I go, to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz!” Nova flourished before bounding off. He quickly walked down the hallway till he saw room 3-D. Peering inside, since the door was open, Nova saw dark feet peeking out from beneath a white blanket, a curtain covering the rest of the body from sight. Slowly snaking his way in, he was entirely shocked when he heard a surprisingly manly snore come from the hidden side of the curtain. Peeking around it, Nova facepalmed and breathed a sigh of relief. Okay so this wasn’t Akeelah being all weird and manl-snore-y-like. That was good. But what that meant was Nova had the wrong room. Leave it to him to mess something like this up.
Face in hands, he turned to leave the room. Across the hall was 3-C, and beside 3-D was 3-B. Obviously that was where he was meant to be. Shamefully walking down the lifeless, bleak hallway, Nova appeared in the doorway of 3-B. Knocking, he waited a moment before twisting the knob ever so gently. No snoring this time. Instead, upon entering the room, he saw a very confused girl who matched his files perfectly, minus the wearily exhausted expression. Bingo. “Akeelah? I’m Agent Willis. How do you feel?” He figured he’d start off being polite as to avoid any possible hostility. And the girl was pretty. Nova was a sucker for a pretty face, even if that pretty face was accused of murder and half animal.

TB had to wonder just how spacey his partner was today, or if this would be common occurrence whenever they worked together. Either because of his awkwardness in hospitals, or maybe some kind of learning disability, James didn’t seem really focused. It wasn’t something that the older man couldn’t handle though. John was used to Jesse spacing out from time to time when he wasn’t being an annoying asshat. This wouldn’t be that big of a deal. At least the young man managed to pull himself together long enough to answer his question. It looked like they would be splitting up for a bit. TB would be talking to the doctor, while Nova dealt with the girl. It wasn’t a bad deal really, TB managed to make it this far smoothly so getting more information out of the doctor wasn’t going to be too hard. And Nova’s task wouldn’t be difficult either. So long as the other man played it cool Akeelah wasn’t going to try and run off before they could take her in.
John nodded in reply to Jame’s question. “Yes, talk to her or ask her questions if you must. The most you have to do is just take a look and keep an eye on her so she doesn’t get away.” It really wasn’t likely that the little shifter would try to make a run for it in the condition that she was in, but John didn’t want to chance it. Injured or not, they weren’t dealing with a human. If the girl felt threatened enough she could try to make a break for it and that would be bad. “Whatever you do, don’t do anything drastic though.” It wasn’t long before the receptionist arrived that the doctor came towards them. James started to leave to go the girl’s room, telling John that he would meet him there when he was done. But wait…what room did he say he was going to? “No, its not 3-D it’s-“ it was too late, James had disappeared and the doctor was already introducing himself. Shit he thought before turning his attention to the doctor. Oh well, there was not much that he could do now. He could only hope that James would figure out the right room on his own.
***************************************************
God it was boring being in a place like this. Akeelah frowned as she stared at the ceiling from her bed as she thought over her situation. Though being bored was the last of her worries she couldn’t help but think about it. The little shifter had never been the type that liked to be cooped up indoors all day. She liked to roam free, go hunting, climb trees, or at least stretch her legs out for a little while. Sadly she couldn’t do any of those things. All because of her damn injuries. The girl sighed. As much as she hated to admit it she was too weak to move much at all. Though the shifter could recover faster than any human could she wasn’t the kind of being that could regenerate in seconds. Moving around still hurt, and any quick, sudden movements were bound to reopen the deep bite mark on her chest. This is what made escaping here difficult.
Akeelah knew she had to get out of here and fast. The staff here asked her too many questions that she couldn’t answer. She couldn’t explain to them why she had no medical history; she couldn’t give them any contact information, and couldn’t even think of a decent fake last name to give them just to make them shut up. It was annoying having them nag her for it but even that wasn’t the biggest thing that she needed to worry about. It had been months since she Gil, and Raffe had gone into hiding after shifting in front of a large crowd of humans, and caught the attention of some secret organization that was out to get them all for it. Akeelah didn’t know much about whom it was that was coming for them, but whoever it was had enough power to cause them all trouble. How long would it take for them to find out where she was? Akeelah didn’t know, and frankly, she didn’t want to find out. Maybe she should have let Gil take her with him after all.
“Don’t be an idiot…” the girl mumbled to herself. No, she was right to tell Guillotine to back off. It was Gil who made her end up here. If he didn’t try to make her go back with him after she broke up with him, she wouldn’t be in this place, unable to move, and unsure what to do even if she could escape. Akeelah tried to push the male out of her thoughts quickly. Just thinking about him was enough to make her depressed. The sound of her door being opened was enough to pry the girl out of her thoughts. The shifter watched this stranger enter her room, a look of confusion and suspicion crossed her face. This guy didn’t look like any of the hospital staff here, but he looked too…normal to be here. Was he just here to visit someone and walked into her room by mistake?
Any illusion of that was quickly blown away when he introduced himself. Now she was even more suspicious than before. An…agent? From where? This can’t be good the girl thought. Did the staff get the authorities involved because of her lack of medical records? If that was the case why did this man look so damn normal for an agent? Something wasn’t right here.“For someone who was nearly mauled to death I am doing great.” That sarcastic reply had left her mouth before she could think better of it. Why couldn’t these people leave her alone long enough for her to think of a good escape plan? “…What do you want?”

Nova mentally face palmed at Akeelah's reply. Obviously if she was feeling well she wouldn't be here. Let's think of a better approach, Nova decided. "Okay. Well good to know you're at least still breathing enough to be sarcastic,” Nova joked as he closed the door softly and took the seat parallel to the hospital bed and beside the door. Taking out his phone, Nova acted like he was texting but instead turned on the voice recorder. After it was activated, he put his phone back in his pocket, but this time made sure the top was facing up so the mic could pick up everything the two said. “Just call me Nova. My real name sucks,” pausing he smiled. No one ever called him James, and he liked it that way. In fact the only ones who knew his real name was probably TB and the creatures. “I’m not here to arrest you or accuse you of anything, I pinky promise,” Nova held up his left pinky playfully.
Nova was aware Akeelah would most likely not trust him in the slightest, but that didn’t stop Nova from being a genuine sweetheart. The man knew he could be annoying and douchey, but he was really just a child trapped in a man’s body. All he ever wanted to do was help, which is why he joined the PIDA. And he wanted to help Akeelah, because for some reason he sensed she wasn’t the real bad guy in all of this. Of course Nova had to stay on his toes, but he wasn’t fearful for his life or TB’s or anyone else’s in anyway. “What do I want? I want you to trust me so I can trust that you tell me the truth with whatever I ask you,” he said calmly. It wasn’t unlike Nova to be so calm in situations like this. It was like he’d become a whole new person. “Are you willing to answer a couple questions? You can ask me anything you want to know too, I’ll be honest,” he stated. And he would, he wouldn’t hide anything because that would mean lying, and if he wanted the truth from Akeelah then he could only give her the truth.
Nova looked Akeelah over. She looked okay by the look of her body parts sticking out of the white hospital blanket, but that didn’t necessarily mean anything. Nova sighed inside his head. He knew what it was like being blamed for something not entirely his fault, and what it was like facing the consequences too. Even by the PIDA, he’d been accused of using his powers outside of what was necessary, and for that he was never given a partner for fear he would lose control of his powers and confuse them too, considering depending on how expecting a person is, they can do some pretty reckless things out of confusion. But of course, he was punished instead of helped. Of course this was nothing like what Akeelah faced, it was still empathy Nova felt. As he waited for Akeelah to respond to him, the dark haired man sang the jeopardy song in his head. He even inadvertently tapped his foot to the beat. It made him way too happy despite the situation.

The moment that Akeelah’s little visitor told her that he was an agent; she knew that she was in trouble. It was only natural for the shifter to be wary of any kind of authority figure that had their sights on her. Akeelah had done a lot in her life to draw some negative attention to people like him. When Akeelah had first arrived in New Orlands she had come as a thief, she spent most of her time on the streets picking pockets, swiping goods, and going as far on occasions to break into houses to get goods that would help keep her alive for just a little longer. That was enough to make the local police chase her down, but she tried to keep what she did low key, and kept well out of sight so she wouldn’t be thrown in jail. But as time passed she found herself winding up into bigger trouble than that. It might not have all been her fault but it was enough to make her enemies, and nearly get her killed. Hell, she wouldn’t have been in this hospital bed if she wasn’t prong to trouble.
It was hard to figure out why this Nova guy had come to her room. He couldn’t be here to arrest her for her old pickpocketing habits. He was either here about her medical records, or for that time she, Gil, and Raffe, showed off their true forms. It had been so long since the latter issue had happened, but even now Akeelah was weary about being seen. She had spent so much time hiding herself from the public after that day, and still couldn’t help looking over her shoulder to be sure that she wasn’t being hunted down. She knew firsthand what could happen if she was discovered for what she really was, she had been hunted down before because a hunter figured it out. But that incident was big enough to catch the attention of something far bigger than a rogue supernatural hunter. Was this it?
Akeelah watched the man take a seat before messing around with his phone. None of the possible reasons for his arrival that she could think of were good, but the last one was the worst case scenario. She could only hope that it wasn’t that. Finally the man spoke once more; he introduced himself and tried to assure her that he wasn’t there to arrest her. It didn’t put her mind at ease in the least, but at least it stopped her from saying anything right away. Soon the man answered her question with a proposition. Give him answers, and he would give her some answers too. Akeelah sighed and looked back towards the ceiling again. If he wanted the truth there was nothing that she could do to help him there. It would be impossible to be honest when she had so much to hide. It wasn’t like she could tell him that she was a shapeshifter, or anything beyond even that unless he somehow knew that already.
Again she thought about what had brought Nova here in the first place. He wanted answers but he didn’t say to what, and that bothered her the most. Akeelah turned her head back towards the man called Nova. If he wanted answers she needed to know what for, so at the very least she could think up some kind of decent lie to cover for herself. Though she was afraid to know why he was here, she couldn’t just stay in the dark over it. “I can’t tell you anything when I don’t know why you are here in the first place.” She answered. “So tell me Nova, how do you know about me and why did you come here?”

The man smiled warmly. It only made sense that she be guarded. Nova hoped she would be cooperative. He didn't want to have to be a jerk; not to a pretty face like hers who was already having a hard time in the hospital. Sighing, he nodded at her words. "Fair enough," he said. Thinking, Nova pondered the many possible routes he could take. He could start by asking her how she got there. But that seemed too be too obvious. Odds are she wasn't even entirely sure, and even if she did remember it would only upset the girl. It would definitely upset Nova if someone made him remember his last mauling. Unless he was mauled by Moh-Ding. Then he would feel pride. Or Spoon. Because if Spoon mauled Nova, Nova would have at least mauled him back, which would have led to something gay and hilarious. It always did. Spoon and Nova had that weird relationship where boundaries were not an issue. A bi-weekly prostate exam wasn't all that uncommon. In fact, the two have probably fooled more than one person on their sexuality. Not that it mattered. Gay people were cool. Boxes were cool too. Boxes were like cardboard ice cubes, and ice cubes were cool too. Hell, they were the coolest. Ice cold. So chill.
Nova looked at Akeelah. "I know everyone. Every supernatural, at least. I know Guillotine too. Sound familiar?" Nova paused and then continued. "I'm here to find out what I can about your recent attack, and Guillotine. Word on the street he's a bit of a troublemaker," Nova played. He wasn't lying, at least. Waiting a moment before going on, the man scanned the room. Hospitals looked so freaking clean, it was almost off-pissing. Zeroing in on the television remote, Nova grimaced in his mind. TV remotes of hospitals were said to be the most germ infested thing about the rooms. They were most times forgotten about when the rooms were sterilized, which only disgusted Nova. He didn't want to catch anything fatal. He wasn't a germaphobe, but these germs phobe'd him the crayep out.
Nova decided to bite the hook and ask a question that could very well anger his interviewee. "So, Akeelah, what exactly brought you here?" he said casually. She didn't seem to be in the best of moods as it is, but Nova truly couldn't help his curiosity. Oh well, it was always said curiosity killed the cat. Maybe that's what happened to the small girl. Maybe her curiosity had gotten the best of her and... The curiosity was what attacked her. She was shapeshifted as a cat or something and then BAM curiosity clawed her down her frame and tried to kill her. Or maybe Nova was just a stupid idiot. Yeah that was a possibility. Childish thoughts seemed to always run among Nova's mind, which is half the time why he was so... Well, childish. Oh heck, being a kid was fun. It kept you young. Heh, it rhymed so it must be true!
Nova took a deep breath. He was wondering how TB was doing, and how long he'd have to talk to Akeelah. Not that he disliked talking to her. Nova just felt odd talking to someone so formally. He was used to being playful and random and idiotic, this almost seemed completely foreign. Of course, Nova had to have been formal when the PIDA interviewed him. But not this formal. Nova wanted nothing more than to throw his prosthetic leg at the window and shout FUCK THE WORLD and then run away into the sunset. But that obviously couldn't happen right now. The dark haired man wondered what John and the doctor could possibly be talking about. Maybe they got into some sort of humongous fight to the death and the hospital walls were just so sound proof that Nova was missing it. Or maybe they went out for ice cream without him and Akeelah. Those bastards! Nova wanted ice cream too. He would go and get a cone for Spoon and Dodger too but the ice part probably would have turned to just cream by the time he got it to them. Oh well. He would have to get ice cream later.

This was it. This was the moment where she would find out just how much trouble she was in now. Akeelah looked the human male dead in the eyes when she asked him what he wanted. She was nervous; almost scared you could say over the whole issue. In Akeelah’s mind she was certain that Nova wasn’t here for any good reason. Akeelah had had too much bad shit happen in her life for her to not suspect the worst. There was no reason for guy claiming to be some kind of agent would come visit her hospital bed just to say hi. Akeelah didn’t know this guy; in fact she didn’t know a lot of people in this town personally. There was Raffe who she hadn’t seen since she had left Gil, there was Rose and her family, and maybe Akhtar, but outside of those people there was no one else that she was close to. The people that she did know had no idea where she was. Even Rose who was the last person she had seen wouldn’t know that Akeelah was in the hospital. Rose hadn’t been up when she had snuck out of the house. Though it was no secret to anyone in the Styler household that the little shifter snuck out of the house at night to go hunting, they had no way of knowing that she wasn’t there. They could be searching for her now; there had been enough time that passed to make them worried. But how would they ever figure out that she was here?
The people that Akeelah wanted to see the most were never going to find her at this rate. But somehow this guy, someone that she didn’t even know did. This day couldn’t get any better could it? Once Akeelah asked her question Nova looked back at her and gave her his honest reply. So it was worse than the medical records issue after all. Not only did Nova know about supernaturals, he knew that she was one, and even worse he knew about Guillotine. Akeelah looked away from the man the instant that he mentioned Guillotine. “I-is…that really all you want?” she asked warily. Akeelah knew well enough that Guillotine had caused enough trouble on his own that others might try to track him down, but she couldn’t see why anyone looking just for him would be talking to her…unless they were after more than just him. There had to be something that this Nova guy wasn’t telling her, she could feel it but wasn’t sure if she wanted to point that out. If she was wrong and he had no idea about what happened between her, Gil, and Raffe she would be getting more than just herself in trouble.
The girl kept her eyes on the ceiling again and sighed. “Yeah…he’s trouble alright.” She didn’t want to deal with this right now. Just thinking about Gil made her upset. The thought of her ex made her angry, but more than that it made her sad. All she wanted to do was forget about him, forget about everything and just move on with her life. Like that was even possible, it was hard to escape her thoughts about him when she had all this time to stuck in a bed to think about the man that stuck her in it. And then there was the unborn baby that she had to think about too. No matter how hard she wanted to put Guillotine past her she would always have something to remember him by for the rest of her life. What did it matter if she had to talk about him now then? It wasn’t like this agent guy wasn’t going to come back if she didn’t talk about Guillotine now.
“I’m here because I had a fight with my ex-mate.” She replied solemnly. “I went out to the woods to hunt like I normally do. But while I was out hunting we ran into each other. He tried to get me to go back with him but I wouldn’t…I couldn’t do it…then he got mad and well…now I got nice little bite marks all over my chest…and before you ask, yes. Gil is my ex…is that a good enough answer for you?”

Nova leaned back in surprise. So his suspicions were correct. It was indeed Guillotine who had attacked Akeelah. Well damn. Now he just felt bad. Guilty, even. At this point, Nova was also questioning the fact if Akeelah had actually killed anyone or not. His initial hunch had been correct, and she herself admitted Guillotine was a havoc and a handful, so who's to say she didn't even kill anyone in the first place? The more Nova thought about it, the more it seemed to fit. Nova tilted his head slightly. This girl had been fully honest, or so it appeared. Which only made the man feel worse, despite not even telling a lie. He felt like Akeelah deserved to know everything, after all it could give her a chance to explain herself. It was unclear to Nova why he wanted so desperately to prove Akeelah innocent. Maybe it was because deep down he knew she didn't do anything wrong. Just, at the wrong place at the wrong time, something Nova was too familiar with. Suddenly, it clicked. Was that why she seemed so nervous? Was there something she wasn't telling him? Were they both hiding the same thing from each other, worried the other may ask about it? That was when Nova shook his head when Akeelah asked if that was all he wanted.
"Actually, not quite," he stated. Reading Akeelah's expression, the man pressed on. "Although what I said before was true, I'm also here to figure out exactly what happened that night with yourself, Guillotine, and another man named Raffe," He paused again, unsure of how to word the next part of his question. Aw hell, why be so formal? It felt so awkward to Nova and he didn't like it. "My files tell me the three of you were involved in a murder, and shifting in public." Nova frowned. The amount of awkward in that last part was overwhelming. But was there really any way to make it less off? The man could only hope Akeelah would tell the truth, which is when he added, "But I have a feeling you didn't actually kill anybody," Maybe it was too much to reveal, but the man couldn't help it. 1) She was pretty. Nova was a sucker for a pretty face. 2) She just got the sh*t beaten out of her by her mate. 3) She didn't want to be here any more than Nova. 4) She probably had friends or family worried sick about her.
Nova formed a plan in his mind. What if somehow he could convince John to not take this girl back to the PIDA? After all, she wasn't exactly fit to do much of anything right now, and taking her to a scary agency would most likely only piss her off, which would just make Nova want to shoot himself instead of cooperate. Nova felt like he was being naive, which wasn't something unforeign to his personality. And hell, if she did try to kill him in the middle of the night like a crazed murderer, then at least he was killed by a pretty face. Yes, even now, Nova had a hard time separating looks from business. But it was true, the man also felt guilty, like he should be telling Akeelah the entire truth, even though he just did. Nova leaned forward again, nodding. "It was the answer I had expected the entire time," Nova shrugged. Must suck having the one you love rip you to pieces, he guessed. "Is there anything else you want to know about me?" The man dropped his phone off his lap right then, cracking the screen. Well god f*cking dammit.

Was this really the only information that Nova wanted? Akeelah seriously doubted it. While this man clearly knew about the supernatural world, certainly enough to know what she and her ex-mate were, she couldn’t see any reason for him to pay her a visit. Humans generally were not interested in the affairs of the supernatural world unless it somehow would affect them. Guillotine attacking her, as twisted and cruel it was, was her problem. She had been the only person as far as she knew to have been harmed in this ordeal. Maybe Gil attacked some poor defenseless human before he stumbled upon her. If he did then the agent’s presence would make sense. He wouldn’t be able to get anything out of her though. If Gil had attacked any human their body was far away from where they met so she didn’t see anything, nor did she smell the scent of fresh blood on the male at the time. Not like she had been focusing much on how the hound smelled like at the time. All she had wanted was to walk away from him and never see his face again. And for that she nearly lost her life.
Nova could act as sympathetic as he wanted to but he wasn’t fooling her. No…she couldn’t exactly accuse him of lying to her could she? Nova admitted what he was, he told her honestly that he knew about her, and stated soon after that he wanted to know about her former mate. Guillotine had caused enough trouble for the humans in the past that someone like Nova would be after him. Akeelah knew that he had a bad habit of hunting humans in the past. She had tried to convince him to stop. She didn’t do it on moral grounds; she wasn’t a human after all so why should she feel anything for them? She just didn’t want Gil to kill them because hunting humans had serious consequences. While individually they were weaker, when humans wised up and grouped together they could become dangerous. If they were armed they could easily kill people like her and Gil. The worst were the hunters. Akeelah had her fair share of experience with hunters before.
Then there was that agency that she heard about from Gil and Raffe, the PIDA. Gil had been captured by them before, and Raffe was sure that they were the ones that would chase them down for that fight they had in the middle of the street. Nova was likely from that place. They had to be worse than that hunter she had been kidnapped by before. A lone hunter could be a dangerous opponent to face, but an organization that was built for the sole purpose of capturing would be dangerous supernatural creatures was even worse. While Nova was asking for a little info on Guillotine she had to wonder still if Gil was the only one he was after. Why would this man bother to learn about who she was and come all this way to see just to question her over information that he already knew? It made no sense but she didn’t question him on that yet, and instead chose to answer his question. Why draw attention to it? She would only get herself in trouble, and that was the last thing she needed. And she wouldn’t be the only one that would take the heat for it. Raffe was also involved, like her he was innocent. He may have disappeared on her but he would be hunted down too if that incident was brought to light.
After she was finished she turned to the human male and asked if they were finished, silently hoping that this really was the only thing that he wanted to hear. But Nova wasn’t finished. What the male said next confirmed her worst fears. Yeah, he wasn’t here to investigate her attack but about the incident between her, Gil, and Raffe. Even though she was certain that he was here for that, that didn’t stop the surprise from hitting her and the fear. Akeelah quickly turned away to stare at the ceiling once more so he wouldn’t catch her unease. So much for escaping before shit hit the fan. This was the end. How long would it take after this conversation before she was locked up in a cage for the rest of her life over something that she didn’t do…or worse?
"But I have a feeling you didn't actually kill anybody,"
Those words brought the shifter out of her depressing thoughts and made her turn her gaze back to the human. Was he serious? Did he really think that she was innocent? The girl didn’t know what to say to him. His assumption wasn’t too far off, she wasn’t the one to kill that human woman that day but was she really as innocent as he thought she was. “You…are half right I guess.” She finally said. “I didn’t kill that woman. But she wouldn’t be dead if it wasn’t for me.” Akeelah sighed; talking about that incident was hard. Anything that she said now was bound to damn someone. If Nova had come to her before her nasty break up with Guillotine she would’ve lied and said she was the one responsible for the woman’s death, just to protect her mate and her friend. But things were different now. She couldn’t just throw her life away for someone else; her feelings for Gil had changed now, and with the baby to consider she couldn’t let herself be killed for him. But she didn’t want to get Gil in trouble. She didn’t know why but she still couldn’t bear the thought of him dying because of her. And claiming that Raffe was responsible for it all was something she could never do. It was too difficult to fabricate the story just to save them all, so why not tell the truth?
“This whole thing wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for me…” she began. “At the time I was dating Gil but I wasn’t living with him. I used to live out in the forest because I had no family of my own. I used to be what you might call a street rat. I had no home outside of the forest…I didn’t mind it really. It wasn’t too bad since I didn’t need to hide my true form from prying eyes, and I could hunt whenever I felt like. But one day Raffe showed up, I had met him a few times before and we became friends. After he found out that I didn’t have a place to live he convinced me to move in with him and the family that adopted him. During the time I moved in with him I didn’t get a chance to see my mate, so I never got to tell him that I was living with a friend of mine or at least introduce them to each other. I had no idea that they met on their own, and got into a fight because Gil smelled me on Raffe and jumped to the wrong conclusion.”
“When I finally got to meet Gil after the move Raffe happened to walk by and things instantly turned bad. Both Raffe and Gil are headstrong and quick tempered…but Gil is worse. Raffe at least knows when to draw the line, but Gil doesn’t. Next thing I knew Gil transformed and was going to attack my friend. So we both changed our forms and I tried to stand between them…I don’t know when that woman came in or why she did it. She must’ve been a friend of Gil’s though if she recognized his hellhound form. She just walked right up to him and tried to calm him down. But because he was so angry and had a poor grasp on his basic instincts he turned on her. It happened too fast for me or Raffe to save her. I am sure that seeing that was worse for Raffe than me. Raffe was more fond of humans than I was, and he was the type of guy that loved to protect people. But even I feel bad about it. That human didn’t do anything wrong…she didn’t deserve to die like that. And she never would have if I had told at least one of them about the other beforehand.” Akeelah wasn’t trying to sugarcoat anything; she really believed that it was her fault. If she had told Raffe about her mate before they had ran into each other there was a good chance that they wouldn’t have gotten off on the wrong foot. And if she had tried to contact Gil sooner then he wouldn’t have misunderstood the wolf the first time. It was her stupidity that started the mess and she could never let that go.
The girl fell silent for a moment to give Nova time to let her words sync in. With what she had said she had no doubt damned herself and Guillotine. There was no way that any of them came out looking like a saint in that fight. But at least one of them could get away with it. It was all in Nova’s hands now. What would he think of it all? It still amazed her that he thought she was innocent at all. She couldn’t help but be curious about why he thought that. “Why did you think I was innocent?” she asked him. “You know what I am, even though I look like shit right now it’s not like I am not incapable of killing someone. What made you think that I didn’t kill that woman?”

The man listened steadily, doing his best to keep a straight face the whole time, with the occasional distraction of a birds shadow across the window, or the talking of people just outside the door. Despite that, he'd heard everything Akeelah said, and Nova was rather fascinated with her words, as if she were telling him some grandiose tale of wonder. If he thought about it, it sort of was just like that. Normal people didn't know about things like this- and to them everything Akeelah said would have made them think she definitely belonged in a hospital, and not the kind she was occupying now. But after working at the PIDA, Nova had met some pretty interesting characters- some that had gone as far as trying to kill he and his comrades. However, that didn't make the interrogations any less interesting. Every supernatural had their own story, background, allies, rivals- entire existences. And when they shared them to a human like Nova who couldn't do much more than confuse people and fling a fake leg every so often, it made work that much more enjoyable, simultaneously toying with the idea that these creatures, these non-humans, these superior races, no matter who they are or how bad they despised another, all coincided subconsciously to hide the fact they are something much better than the far inferior humans. Sure those humans could make ostentatious things, pertinaciously never letting go of the fact that they are the sole beings intelligent enough to do so, but they could also form things like the PIDA, or an army. So in a way, hearing Akeelah's story made Nova just a tad more willing to help her bypass any true form of punishment, because humans were easily frightened and jealous when they saw something they couldn't ever hope to acquire or understand.
After the girl was through, Nova simply nodded. They sat in a silence, it wasn't exactly awkward, though- it was a well needed silence. He let the tale sink in whilst she thought about things. When Akeelah asked her question is when Nova tilted his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Well you see, I know what you are, like you said. I know leopards don't exactly kill for the hell of it, sure. But I've also ran into Guillotine in the past." He said, as if that should be enough. Nova was very open minded, and fear was not on his list of emotions too often, but Guillotine did not make Nova very happy. "I threw a prosthetic leg at some chick who was trying to help him escape, but it didn't look like he knew her," the man added quickly as to avoid confusion. Nova beamed at the mention of his prosthetic leg. It was rather fun tossing it around- it confused a LOT of people, sometimes even better than his own powers of confusion. Reverting back to Akeelah's story, Nova picked out a small selection of information. She was a former street rat, eh? Didn't those usually steal things? Either way, Nova paid no mind to that little detail. He wasn't the police, and he wasn't going to act as if he had any authority over that. However, it did occur to him how scared Akeelah must be right now, what with being mauled and interrogated and whatnot. "Just so you know though," he began. Nova figured this bit of info would ease her mind a smidgen. "We don't kill anybody."
Pausing, Nova went on. "Yeah, my "work" doesn't kill, and I have a pretty good idea they wouldn't, you know, unless someone maybe went batsh*t and killed a bunch of people at the headquarters. I dunno. Buuuut, for your sake, I'll tell you that we do have a search for Guillotine and Raffe out too. We'll see if your stories match up." Nova was satisfied with the things he had discovered right then. But then a thought occurred to him. Where the heck was she going to live now? That was a question for a different time, though. But Nova had a feeling TB was going to want to take Akeelah into the PIDA, and Nova just didn't think that was right. While TB would most likely not care either way. Nova nodded again slowly, silently thanking Akeelah for not putting up a fight or quarrel, because Nova really did not want to deal with another one of those.

It was strange and even a little uncomfortable for Akeelah to talk about the incident that day, especially with a person that was supposed to be after her for it. But she did it; somehow she just poured it all out for the agent to hear. It wasn’t like she had much of a choice in the matter; sure she could have refused to tell him anything but what would that accomplish? This PIDA agent wasn’t going to go away any time soon. The longer she resisted the longer he was bound to stay, and the worse this whole situation would get. It was already pretty bad by her standards. After spending months trying to avoid having a confrontation like this it took one bad fight to make all that effort worth nothing. Akeelah couldn’t run from the past anymore so all that was left to do was confront it. At least this moment was rather tame from what she had originally thought. Akeelah had always imagined that a run in with one of these PIDA agents would go a lot more violently than this. Then again, Nova didn’t have to do a lot of work to take her in as she was now.
If they had met earlier would Nova had tried to hurt her though? The human was being rather nice to her here. It could simply be out of pity, but it felt like there was more to it. He wasn’t being nice because she was stuck in a hospital, and he even believed that she didn’t kill that human woman. Nova was…strange, but he was honest. So it just made it easier for her to be honest with him. Eventually Akeelah told the man her version of events, from what started the whole mess till the very end. She didn’t bother to cover for anyone here. The way she saw it everyone had a little bit of blame to share in it. It was her fault that her ex-mate and her friend hated each other, it was Raffe who helped fuel Gil’s anger, and it was Gil’s fault that he couldn’t keep himself under control that lead to their exposure and death of that woman. A part of her wanted to cover for at least Raffe but in doing so she would have to lie to Nova, and that she couldn’t do.
Silence fell after she spoke. Nova sat there, probably letting Akeelah’s story sink in while she mentally prepared for what would come after. What would happen after this worried the shapeshifter a lot. No matter how nice Nova was to her here, or how much he believed in her at the end of the day he was still working for the group that wanted to get rid of her. What would the agency do with her once Nova gave her over to them? She wondered. Akeelah had worried a lot about this in the past while she and the others were in hiding, but now that she knew she was pregnant the thoughts only seemed to be worse. Even if they didn’t just kill her she couldn’t afford to be caged like the animal they thought she was. What would happen to her baby? Would they kill it? Would they take it away when it was born and experiment on it?
Nova finally spoke again, pulling the shapeshifter out of her thoughts. He told her about his own confrontation with Gil. “I bet that had to be fun.” She replied. If Nova had tried to capture Guillotine then he had to know just how dangerous her former mate was. When he mentioned having to throw some kind of leg at a woman that was helping Gil escape she just rolled her eyes. “He probably was trying to fuck that chick before you came in.” she could muster the strength to hide the bitterness in her voice. Judging from what Nova said he had to have run into Gil and that woman during the time that they had broken up. It wasn’t much of a surprise to know that the bastard had already found others to mess with, while she could barely move on without him. Yet he still had the nerve to demand that she come back to him, and nearly killed her for rejecting him…
The conversation moved from Gil to what would happen afterwards. Nova tried to reassure her that his employers were probably not going to kill her. “That’s…good.” She didn’t really sound so reassured though. While the fear of death was lifted from her mind the shifter could think of a lot of scenarios that were not very pleasant that she would have to live with. Being told that she would still be alive didn’t mean that she or her unborn baby would be safe at all. And knowing that they would still be looking for Guillotine and Raffe didn’t sit well with her either. While Raffe would help fight for her and her baby she couldn’t bear the thought of him being captured. Where ever Raffe was she hoped that he was far away from New Orlands. And Gil? Gil would make it difficult for them to catch him, but if they did she doubted that he would cooperate with them at all. “I don’t know where Raffe is, but I am sure you won’t find him.” She said. Raffe was smart enough to care for himself. He at least will be safe from all of this so long as he didn’t know what happened to her. “Gil you might be able to catch but he’s not going to say anything…” Yeah…she was screwed. “What are you going to do if you can’t confirm my side of the story?”
