APPEARANCE
Akeelah has always been the runt of the family. Thanks to her unusually small stature she was often thought of as a weakling, an assumption that she finds rather annoying. Now standing at only five feet tall Akeelah has not grown an inch since growing up as a child and would not be surprised if she never will. Her eyes like most at her family are a curious golden hue, distinctively feline in her appearance. Aside from her unique eye color and small stature Akeelah looks like your everyday normal teenage girl and due to the nature of her ‘job’ that’s exactly what she wants. Akeelah does what she cannot to draw attention to herself, going as far to wear baggy clothing just to hide most of her features so she would not be noticed. Since coming to New Orlands Akeelah has earned a few notable scars from fights. The oldest scar she has was a bullet wound on her left shoulder from getting into a scrap with an escaped experiment from Axium. The second scar is a bite mark in the middle of her chest she got when fighting her former mate Guillotine. Its a constant reminder of their unfortunate relationship.

Akeelah has never been much of a people person. Like any solitary big cat the shifter likes to spend most of her time alone wandering about in the forest, hunting, or just staying at home doing whatever comes to mind. She was the kind of person that when she did interact with others she would be dismissive or if the person was particularly annoying she would get aggressive. For those that were able to get close to her she could be very sweet and caring. But now things have changed. After being betrayed and hurt by the one person she fell in love with Akeelah has become seriously depressed. She feels distant and dead inside, she spends most of her time alone brooding, wishing that she had died when Gil had attacked her. Nothing seems to be able to snap her out of it, not even the children she bore into the world.
SPECIES
Shapeshifters are a supernatural species with the unique trait of switching between a human and any other variety of animal species from their home world. While all shapeshifters have a human form their secondary form can come in a variety of animals. While some shifters are capable of taking on more than one animal form, most of them are typically born with one animal form. Their human appearance and general behavior is sometimes influences based on whatever their animal form is.
Like most shifters Akeelah only has one animal form. For her she is a leopard, a proud, powerful, and solitary feline normally found on in Africa. While Akeelah didn't come from this world her behavior is much like that of her animal counterparts that live here. Akeelah enjoys spending time alone, to hunt, roam around her territory, and sleep till dusk. Like any shifter parts of her personality are effected by her animal instincts, she prefers to be alone rather with company, hates staying indoors, and at times acts much more feline than human.

- Naturally a great climber in both forms.
Weaknesses
- Has most of the same weakness as humans.
- Severe injuries can either kill or permanently disfigure her.
- Ever since she crossed the barrier Akeelah's sense of smell in her human form is not as strong as it used to be.
- Some of her basic instincts makes it harder for her to get along with certain creatures (is more wary/defensive against lion shifters and might see shifters of herbivores as food more than friends)
- Because she is small for her kind she isn't as powerful as most leopards are, and is always at a physical disadvantage against bigger opponents.
- Silver can stop her from shapeshifting
HISTORY
A lot of things have happened since Akeelah came into this world. She had lived on the streets for the first few years in this world, found herself a home, a family, a lover, and in the end lost them all. The worst of all of what she lost was what happened between her and her mate. Guillotine had been her first and only love that she ever had, but after catching him cheating on her she broke up with him. The break up hurt, but it wasn't nearly as bad as when he tried to kill her when she refused to come back to him. In the end Akeelah lost the person she loved the most, has been forced into hiding, depressed, and to top it all off pregnant with her ex's child.
