Today felt like the longest day in Loki's life. Despite the fact it was only mid day, or that the little shifter had been rather active since the crack of dawn so time should have not been much of an issue, it felt excrutiatingly long. Why? Because he was exhausted. As of late exhaustion was all that he felt at all. It had been a week, maybe more since Loki had a good night's rest. Nightmares had kept the boy from getting much sleep for awhile now. This was nothing new for the young male. He always suffered from night terrors from time to time. This was one of the bad times. They plagued him so much that he didn't get to sleep at all. There was nothing that he could do about it though. Try as he might Loki never found a way to combat the nightmares. He was too afraid to sleep anymore. To make matters worse he had to hide what was going on. None of Loki's friends or associates knew about his night terrors. He wasn't comfortable enough to tell them anything. How could he tell anyone what was going on if he couldn't tell them the source of these nightmares in the first place? No one, not even Azazel. Though as the days passed it was getting even harder for him to hide how little sleep he was getting. To avoid questions Loki buried himself in his work. Loki left the apartment as often as he could, meeting clients, meeting up with his associates to share information, and gathering new information in any way he could. Even on his days off the shifter still found something to do to bring him out of the apartment. He'd either train on his own or do the odd delivery job or two. Today he had been doing much of the same thing. Loki had met some clients earlier in the day. Now he was making his way through the busy streets to meet up with one of his associates, an older wolf shifter by the code name “Wolf”. The guy was not terribly creative with his code name, then again, if no one got the reference to his code name no one would think “L” was anything special either. Wolf might not be the most creative guy in the world but he was very good at what he did, and insanely perceptive. He was the only person out of all those that worked with Loki that could tell the feline had been royality before he came to this world. He was a little nervous about meeting Wolf today with how tired he was. The older male would be able to tell instantly that something was wrong with him. But he had to do it. This was strictly business. Loki had about an hour to make it to their meeting place. That was plenty of time to make it to where he needed to go, but as the boy started to feel lightheaded he decided to start taking shortcuts. Loki made his way out of the streets to slip into the alleys as he made his way to their meeting spot. There was nothing wrong with getting there a bit early right? He could take the extra waiting time to just sit down for a little to conserve what little energy he had left. Another wave of dizziness made the shifter stop, reaching his hand out against a nearby wall to steady his body before he fell down. “Shit...keep it together. You aren't even there yet.” _________________ Tag: Rune DelacroixHope this was okay x.x

Rune rubbed his eyes as he walked down the street, suppressing a yawn. He was not usually out and about this early in the day for him, it being mid day, but he had some extra paperwork to do. The party he had thrown a week ago had been a little more out of control than he had planned so he was filling out the papers to get some stuff replaced, and he had to do the orders for the liquor and beer taps and also make sure all the paychecks were in order. Sometimes he swore that he ran the place more often than not lately and he cracked his neck.
What a day it had been, he hadn't seen Garm since the party, purposely avoiding his house a little bit more since the incident where he woke up naked next to him. It wasn't that Rune didn't want to see him, but it was a little awkward. He figured tonight he would drop by with a 'forgive me for being a jerk and not considerate and blah' gift. He didn't know yet, but he missed the furballs in his apartment.
Mussing up his hair, he yawned again. He had left his jacket at home, just wearing a tighter black t-shirt and his blue jeans with black boots. He had put his faux silver stud in his ear today and was overall quite comfortable, even in the humidity of summer. Walking into the alley behind The Wandering Mule, Rune unlocked the door, sighing when he saw the full trash can. He meandered around it, flicking on the lights to the office and grabbing another trash bag. Obviously the shift the night before hadn't finish their work before they took off and he let out a disgruntled growl as he walked down the ally with the full trash bag.
The bin they threw their trash in was shared with neighboring bars, and therefor resided around the corner in a connecting ally. He threw the trash away, his face contorted in a frown. He would have to talk to them about it later, there definitely were going to be consequences because now the bar smelled and he was going to have to spend an hour cleaning it before opening later today for dinner and food. He cracked his knuckles then frowned as he heard a voice.
He blinked, recognizing it immediately and crept up to a corner of the ally, peering around. There was the man who had haunted his dreams and his eyes widened, his heart speeding up. What was Loki doing in the ally? He frowned as he saw the younger man lean against the wall, visibly fatigued. He swallowed. He should just walk away, leave him alone. But the guy looked like something was wrong. Rune let out a small breath, cursing himself for putting himself through this torture as he turned and started to walk away, then turned around and walked back. He threw his arms up. He was an idiot! He turned the corner, intending to apologize for what had happened the last time he had seen him.
"Loki?" He held his breath, willing the panic to go down. How did Garm put it? View the guy as an opponent. He looked at Loki, attempting to view him as an enemy. It wasn't working very well as his heart pounded against his chest, and his breath came fast. Don't freak out man, stop freaking out.

It was harder to get himself moving now a days with his exhaustion hitting him at the worse times like this. Loki leaned up against the cold alley walls, fighting to keep himself conscious so he could move again. He really was getting worse the longer that he went without sleep. But what was he suppose to do about it? All sleeping did was bring him more nightmares. Those nightmares always woke him up, making it impossible for the boy to get back to sleep anyway. Now a days he only had the choice between getting very little sleep or not sleeping at all. Neither of them were good choices, and neither of them would help his situation. All he could do was just keep going until the trauma passed again. It was bad now but it would eventually pass. It always did. But what was he going to do about his situation now? Loki did considered cancelling his meeting so he could just take it easy back home, but he couldn't bring himself to do it when Azazel was going to be home. It was hard to hide his deteriorating condition from the fallen angel as it was already. Going back was just not an option. He just had to buckle up and push himself through the rest of the day. Maybe he could cancel tomorrow, but not today. While the boy was trying to pull himself together a familiar voice called out to him. Loki looked up, feeling another wave of dizziness at the sudden motion as he peered out ahead of him to see who it was. His blurry vision made it a little tricky to see the person's face but eventually it set itself right. “R-Rune?” Loki looked surprised as he looked the dark haired man over. It had been awhile since he had seen the other shifter. They had only met once in the past but it was a meeting that was hard to forget. One did not forget the face of those that tried to help you out in the middle of a robbery. “Long time no see, pal.” Loki greeted him with his signature smile. He did his best to stand up straight. Even in his current state he refused to show any signs of weakness. But try as he might he couldn't hide behind his smile forever. One good look at him was good enough for even the most oblivious idiot to see he was not doing well. His skin was a sickly sort of pale, his gaze was unfocused, there were dark circles under his eyes from the lack of sleep, even his smile lacked the normal cheer he exuded so easily. “What are you doing out here?” He asked quickly, hoping to avoid any questions the other shifter may have to direct at him. It was in Loki's best interest to leave as soon as possible, but he knew better than to expect that he would be able to get out of this sudden encounter so easily. The best he could hope for was to make some small talk and find some way that he could leave, hopefully getting out of Rune's way before he started to sway or stumble again. ______________ Tag: Rune Delacroix

Rune knew he had surprised the younger man, but he wasn't prepared for what he saw when Loki had turned around to face him. He blinked, taking in the dark circles and the paler skin. Loki was the worse for wear. But why? Rune mulled this question over as Loki flashed him his most charming smile, diluted a bit but none the less, it was still impressive enough to make Rune blush, rubbing the back of his neck. "I was going to do some paperwork and orders for the bar." He pointed in the direction of the door behind him. "And take the trash out since the guys last night couldn't be bothered." He took a couple steps toward Loki. He let out a breath. Look at him not as a potential attraction but as something else.
Trying hard to not imagine the kiss he had shared with Loki upon their last meeting, he looked at his hands. Sparing a glance back up to Loki, he frowned. "Man, are you ok? What are you doing creeping in an ally looking like a truck just hit you and you were in a coma for 3 weeks and now you are escaping the hospital?" It was a pretty blunt way to put it, and Rune made sure he didn't come any closer than the 10 feet he was away from the younger man. He looked bad off and Rune was worried, but he didn't want to make Loki uncomfortable. Running a restless hand through his dark hair, he looked around.
This was getting awkward because Rune didn't know how much Loki remembered but he remembered every detail from that night, even him making an arse of himself because he couldn't control himself. He willed his heart to slow down, making sure his breathing was even. He couldn't look at Loki, he looked everywhere but Loki, but the blood running through his veins felt like it was rushing down white water rapids. His senses were at an all time high and he could smell Loki's scent, a heady rush for him considering his attraction, but there was something off about it. He blinked, casting away his thoughts as he looked at Loki's feet. The man was not doing well, he could see that much. He just didn't know if his help would be wanted if he offered it.

Today was not going to be a good one for this little shapeshifter. Out of all the things that could happen to him today, meeting Rune out of the blue while he was feeling like absolute crap was the last thing that he wanted. It wasn't because of anything he had against the older shifter, though there was that whole...kiss thing that did not help making an encounter like this any less awkward. Loki was more or less over the whole ordeal of that night. It was not one of his proudest moments but it was not the first time he had been kissed by another man. At least Rune wasn't Guillotine. It was way more awkward having your first kiss stolen by a man that threatened to torture you before devouring you. An unexpected kiss from a drunk you just met was at least one step above the first one. No, the incident with Rune was not what made this bad. Running into anyone he knew like this would be just as bad for him. Loki did not want anyone that knew him to see him like this. Hell, he didn't even want Wolf to see him like this and he was on his way to meet the guy. This was not going to be pretty but Loki refused to admit defeat. Like every bad thing in his life Loki tried to hide his problems behind a veil of confidence and smiles. He could never bring himself to admit that he needed help with anything. In the past he couldn't, even when he wanted to no one could help him. Who could stop the king from abusing his son? No one. Most would not dare, and those that might be tempted to would face harsh punishment. He had to learn to hide it. The world that he came from was long gone now but the lessons he learned carried over with him. Giving Rune a friendly smile, Loki used all his willpower to keep his body from wavering as he stood there listening to him. “Oh yeah, you work here. I almost forgot that I was near your bar.” the kid laughed. Shit, he really must have been out of it if he didn't even know what part of town he was in. In his haze Loki had been letting his feet guide him where he needed to go and failed to pay attention to exactly where he was going. Loki had hoped to control the conversation enough that he could avoid the questions that were bound to come, but unfortunately he failed to do so. Before the blond could even speak Rune asked him the dreaded question, in the most brutal way too. That...caught him off guard. Loki even dropped his gaze after hearing the older man. “I look that bad huh?” Loki tried to laugh it off. “Don't worry I am fine. Well, not super fine but alright. I've been a little over worked for the past week but things are winding down soon so I should be good after.” That wasn't the greatest lie in the world but he hoped that would do the trick. “Speaking of work I am in a hurry. I have somewhere to be before I am done for the day. I should get going. It was nice seeing you again.” It was time for him to go before Rune started questioning him further. Loki turned around to start to make his exit when his body decided to give up. The sudden movement sent another wave or disorientation, before he could try to react the world went dark and he collapsed. ___________________ Tag: Rune DelacroixNote: There NOW Loki passed out, have fun with him.

Looking at Loki, Rune's eyes held disbelief at the excuse Loki told him. He had been overworked and never looked that bad. The younger mans eyes dropped his gaze and Rune let out a sigh. What was he going to do? He couldn't get closer without freaking out or losing control, yet Loki obviously needed some kind of help. He was chewing the thought over in his head when Loki suddenly said his goodbye's.
"Loki! Wait a sec-" Rune didn't even finish his sentence before he saw Loki on the ground. Pushing past his own insecurities, he ran up, turning Loki onto his back. He could hear his heart beat and saw his chest moving up and down. Sitting back on his bum, he shook his head. This kid was gonna give him a heart attack. He stood up, looking around. He couldn't put him in the bar, but Garm's apartment wasn't that far away. He would just take the ally ways there. He took out his cell, calling Garms phone. It rang about 7 times before he got the answering machine. "Well shit, Garm, you're not there. I have Loki and he just passed out...fuck...I'm going to have to take him to my apartment. Where the fuck are you anyways? Don't you sleep during the day! Call me when you get back in." Rune sighed, closing his cell phone, he was going to have to take the longer way to his apartment, but he could avoid the main streets.
Lifting him up, Loki felt lighter than he looked, which surprised Rune a little. He looked at his face, a blush touching his own cheeks and shook his head. This was not the time for any of that! Slipping through the ally's it only took an extra 5 minutes before Rune hauled Loki up the 3 flights of stairs to his apartment. He could finish doing the orders for the bar from here on his home computer, and the owner was at the bar, he could lock up. Just in case though, Rune gave him a call after laying Loki on his bed gently, explaining that there was an emergency he had to take care of. The owner was more than willing to let Rune take the night off.
Fixing a pot of coffee, Rune leaned against the counter, his eyes glancing at the door to his bedroom. He had closed it part of the way, but left a little crack, so whenever Loki woke up he could have his privacy, but Rune would still be aware. He breathed in the potent coffee, as it poured into the pot. Besides rum, coffee was his favorite drink. He usually drank about 6 cups throughout the day if it was a long day, especially at the bar where girls kept buying him drinks, and he wouldn't be rude and refuse them, it kept him somewhat sober, that and drinking lots of water.
Pouring a mug, he walked into the living room, opening up his laptop on the coffee table and setting his mug down next to it. He ran his hand through his hair, glaring at the screen. Over the next couple hours, he was fixing paperwork and placing orders for the bar. By the time he closed his laptop, it was starting to get dark and he sighed, looking back at the room. Why hadn't Garm called him back and when was Loki going to wake up. He was probably going to freak out. He poured himself some reheated coffee and started going about making jambalaya with smoked sausage in it. It was a relatively simple meal and he made enough so Loki could eat too, lord knows he needed it. [/font]

Loki ran.
He ran as fast as his legs would carry him, but he could still hear the laughter, jeers and gunfire of the their pursuers in the distance. It seemed no matter how fast he ran the voices of those damn humans weren't getting softer. In fact, the more he ran the louder they got as if they were getting closer, surrounding them.
“Loki!”
Loki gently squeezed the slender hand he was holding onto in response. He hardly had the breath to give her a proper response. There was no time to for him to stop and address her at all. All he could do was keep looking forward and run. If he stopped now they would both be dead.
“Loki! You've got to stop, you can't keep going like this!” He could hear the worry in the young girl's voice. But why? Why was she worried about him at a time like this? They both were being hunted down because of him. It was his fault that these humans were hunting them down in the first place. If he hadn't pissed them off that day they wouldn't be here for them now. Finally Loki stopped and turned around to speak to her but the moment he tried to face her she was no where to be seen.
“Amalia?”
Silence...
All there was was silence. All the noise of the world dropped in an instant, bathing the world in an eerie silence. Why was it so quiet? And more importantly where was Amalia? “Amalia?” Loki called out into the darkness, looking around frantically for the girl who had suddenly disappeared. She had been right here just a moment ago. He could still feel the warmth of her hand against his. He didn't let go of her so where had she gone. “AMALIA!” Loki hurried forward, screaming the girl's name as he searched only to get nothing in response.
Then he saw it...
Out in the distance something laid on the ground. It was too far away to make out but something about it filled his with dread. Slowly the boy walked up to the thing, each step making the dread grow deep inside him. It felt like an eternity passed of him walking but finally he got close enough to see the bloody corpse before him. Loki woke up with a scream. He didn't normally scream when he woke up to nightmares like this. He usually woke up in a cold sweat, shaking, sometimes crying, but never screaming (as far as he knew). This time around though he couldn't help it. He couldn't take it anymore. Loki curled up in a ball, tears streaming down his face as he hugged his knees and tried to calm down. Every time he closed his eyes all he could see was Amalia's dead body. It was all he could really remember of her now. As time passed he had forgotten what she had looked like. Her face had become nothing more than a blur in his mind whenever he tried to remember how she looked, or the way she smiled. Even in his dreams he couldn't make her face out well anymore, eventually he couldn't even see her anymore. But her lifeless body? That was the one image that he couldn't forget. He could remember every vivid detail of Amalia's corpse. Even though she had died in her cat form sometimes when he found her dead she was in her human form. Why was that the only thing that he could remember of her now? He didn't know, but seeing her like that always frightened him. He shouldn't have gone to sleep. He knew that he would see Amalia's corpse again if he did. So why did he go to sleep? He couldn't remember when he had fallen asleep. As the shifter began to calm down some he racked his brain for the memories of the events that happened before that dream. He had left the apartment that morning, making sure to avoid catching Azazel's attention as he did so, he started his usual work routine, and was on his way to meeting with one of his associates when he bumped into someone else. That was the last thing he remembered. Was that it? Did he forget something? Loki lifted his head up to take a look at his surroundings. At some point he realized that he had been in a bed, but looking around the room now he quickly began to realize that this was not his room. He was in a bedroom, but it wasn't one he recognized at all. Even in the darkness Loki to could see every detail of the place that he was in. Darkness...why was it dark? The boy looked over to the side at the window. The curtains had been drawn, but judging from the lack of light that poked out underneath it the sun had gone down some time ago. It must be night time now. “Where am I?” muttered to himself. He obviously was not back at home. He had to be in someone else's place. He must've passed out in the alley then. Shit if he passed out there in the alley then the place he was at now had to be Rune's place. Now that he thought about it he could easily pick up the scent of the other male. This must be his room. That was one mystery down. Now that he knew where he was he needed to figure what he was going to do now. ___________________ Tag: Rune DelacroixNote: I am a terrible fucking person.

NOTE:::: At some point in time I had written the description of Rune's bedroom -- don't remember what I wrote so gonna throw some shtuff together ^_^ :::::::
-----------------
Rune was stirring the jambalaya he was making when a scream ripped across his apartment. Flinching from the suddenness and loudness of it, his arm hit the handle of the deep skillet he was using, the hot jambalaya covering him from his chest and down. "SONUVABITCH!!!" Rune jumped backwards, grabbing the hand towel next to the sink and knocking off most of the rice and meat that was covering him. A few more curses left his lips as he finished wiping himself down and grabbing some paper towels, picking up what was on the floor.
Then he remembered what had gotten him to this point, and jumped up, moving to his room. He opened the door, light streaming in and showing him Loki sitting on his bed. He froze, his hand on the door handle, his breathing becoming shallow. "You screamed." He had to get a grip on him self. He had known Loki was in his bed, sleeping. He had tried to stay busy so that he would forget that the pretty boy was in his bed. Rune felt a blush come over his face and shook his head slightly. "Erm...sorry. Be right back." Rune closed the door as he stood in the hall way trying to catch his breath.
"Breath you idiot!" He whispered under his breath, moving into the kitchen. He had somehow salvaged some of the jambalaya and scooped a little into a bowl, grabbing a cup of coffee and moving back to his bedroom. He let out a breath, opening the door. "Here." He placed the food and coffee next to Loki, on the black night stand next to his bed. He took a couple steps back. "If you don't want it, I can make something else, but you should eat something." His eyes were looking anywhere but Loki. Anywhere but his bed. He glanced at the band posters on his walls, his rare records in their original cases, leaning against the wall on top of his dresser. He loved to listen to records more often than CD's and had a very nice vintage record player in the corner of his room. He had his clothes scattered a little on the floor, not a lot, but some, just from the previous day. He hadn't had a chance to pick up anything yet, with Loki sleeping in his room most of the day.
Rune rubbed the back of his neck. What was he going to do? He just stood there awkwardly, trying to keep his cool.

What a way to wake up. Figures the second that Loki collapsed he had to be plagued with yet another nightmare. It seemed that no matter how hard Loki tried he couldn't escape his dreams. Now here he was, trying to not have a panic attack while in someone elses bedroom. What had happened while he was out? The little shifter could hardly remember what he was doing before he passed out. It took awhile for him to rake his brain for some answers. After trying to recall what little of the day he could remember and taking a look at his surroundings he came to some conclusions. He had collapsed half way through the day. Where he was now wasn't too hard to figure out. The last person he had been around was Rune so this had to be his place. With his scent all over the place it was easy enough to confirm that. If this was Rune's place then where was Rune? Loki had thought that maybe the dark haired shapeshifter had left his place or something till the door opened. So Rune was still home after all? That wasn't much of a surprise really. At least he showed up just as Loki was starting to calm down. The last thing the boy wanted him to see was him having a panic attack, but with what Rune said when he came in the room he might as well have. “Oh...I'm sorry.” Loki couldn't even look him in the face after that, he blushed slightly from embarrassment. Did he really scream out loud? Loki had always assumed that his screaming was only in the dream world. It was hard to tell reality from the nightmares in the moments he woke up. Did he always do that? If he did then that would mean that his roommate had an idea what was going on with him? Dear god he hoped not. Before Loki could think of anything else to say Rune vanished. It didn't take the man to come back though. Loki watched as the other shifter placed a bowl and mug on the nightstand next to him. “Thank you...you didn't have to do that.” Loki said. He picked up the mug first. He didn't realize how hungry he was till he smelled the food but as of late Loki's first instinct was to grab coffee. Food was good and all but what he needed right now was to stay awake. Loki drank deeply from the cup. It wasn't quite up to his standard (He always put A LOT of sugar and cream in his own coffee than was normal) but it did hit the spot. “I'm sorry for all of this...I probably freaked you out earlier didn't I?” He could only imagine how the guy felt having to deal with him right now. Rune had looked anxious earlier in the day when they first met. Loki could only imagine the kind of panic he caused when he passed out in front of him, then again when he screamed. Loki was not having a good time trying to dispel other peoples worries about his physical well being. Thanks to this things were going to get worse. He missed his meeting with Wolf. There was a good chance that Wolf had tried to contact him when he didn't show up. Knowing Wolf if he couldn't find him on his own the canine would have used his emergency contact to get in touch with Azazel. Wolf didn't know much about Az outside of him being an emergency contact. But if Az knew that Loki had gone missing the fallen angel was going to be looking for him. That was going to be fun to deal with later. For now Loki needed to handle this mess first before he dealt with the bigger mess back home. For now he needed to know what happened to him while he was out, just so he could get his story straight for later whether he chose to be honest about everything later. “How long was I out for?” ___________________________________ tag: Rune Delacroix

Rune's deep laugh filled the room. Freak him out? He shook his head. "Loki..I had to make you food. You are way too light." Talking about the food reminded Rune of his shirt which was soiled. He sighed, a blush forming on his face. "You are fine, Loki...." He replied to Loki's apology, moving towards the closet. He pulled out a black tank, pulling off his shirt. He kept his front turned away from Loki. He shouldn't be embarrassed but he was. He pulled on the tank quickly, and glanced at Loki. "You are smaller than I am, but if you need a change of clothes, feel free." He moved to leave the room when Loki asked how long he had been out.
Looking at his watch, he let out a breath. His heart was still pounding. "Well it is about 10:30 at night now." He placed his hand on the door handle, looking at Loki. "Are you ok, Loki?" Rune was genuinely worried for the younger man, and him sitting in his bed now...he still didn't look good. Rune looked at the cup of coffee in Loki's hand, maybe he should have given him water. He felt his breath become shallow and wanted to just kick himself for the way his body reacted. He gave up, his breath coming out in a sigh.
Rune had been battling this internal battle with Loki being in his house. In his bed. He chuckled, shaking his head. "I might be able to salvage some more jambalaya. You need to eat more." His cheeks were still a little pink and he moved back to the kitchen, grabbing himself a glass and pouring a finger of rum. Gulping it down, he made himself a bowl and refilled his drink before walking back into the bedroom. He leaned against the wall next to his dresser, setting his drink down he took a bite of his food. "So you have nightmares then?" Rune glanced up at Loki, taking a sip of his drink.
Being more of a deep sleeper, Rune never really had nightmares, or dreams in general. He took another bite of food. The more he just accepted the pretty boy in his apartment, the easier it was for Rune to be around him. It also helped that he had Loki's scent ingrained in his head because of just how long Loki had been there. He set down his bowl, running a hand through his hair before sipping on his drink again. "Would you like something stronger than coffee perhaps?"

The boy cracked a smile at Rune's comment on his weight. “I am well aware of that. You might find it hard to believe but I can whatever I want as often as I want without gaining much weight. Not sure why but that's the truth.” Loki loved to eat. He wasn't much of a picky eater in his humble opinion. He definitely had a sweet tooth. Now that he was no longer homeless he rarely went hungry. Despite his ravenous hunger Loki didn't gain much weight at all. He had put on a few pounds since he shacked up with Azazel but after getting used to not being hungry again he didn't gain much. Loki had always been a light weight, taking after his mother, Loki was light haired, fair skinned, small, and slender built. There was a chance he had lost a few pounds during this long running night terror stuff. Along with little sleep Loki had not had much of an appetite anymore. Maybe Rune was onto something there. Downing the rest of the coffee Loki grabbed the bowl of food Rune offered him. The dish was something he did not recognize but it didn't look bad. It was just rice with a bunch of different things in it. Loki scrutinized the dish like he did any new piece of food he received, seeing what was in it and trying to piece together how it was prepared before taking a bite. A soft purr rose out of the shifter after he took his first bite. “This is pretty good.” he said. It was a bit better than he expected. Was this just something that Rune threw together at random, or was this a specific dish? He had to ask later so he could recreate it himself. “Thanks for the offer.” the boy said when Rune offered him a change of clothes. He was unsure how likely he was to take it. His gut told him that he shouldn't impose on the other male anymore than he had, but the practical side of him knew better than to rush back home. Once he learned how late it was he was even more convinced that leaving now was the last thing he should do. He had no idea where Rune's place was in regards to the city, which meant he had no idea how far he had to walk to get back home. He was still physically weak which could cause problems. Then there was his luck with night time traveling. It was very easy for him to get mugged or attacked in his current state. At worse he could have another run in with Guillotine. Just the thought of having to fight the large hellhound when he was at even more of a bigger disadvantage than he normally was made him shudder. Like it or not he was better staying here. As if tuned to his thoughts Rune asked him if he was feeling okay. “I will live.” he replied. “I just need to take it easy, at least for tonight. I am not sure what I am going to do about tomorrow or the day after that but I will get by somehow.” That probably was not much of an answer but it was the only thing he could really say on the issue. Even Loki did not know just how badly he was doing or how to solve the problem. He needed sleep, but with the constant nightmares even if he tried to force himself to sleep he wasn't going to get much of it. If he slept his past would come back to haunt him again, if he didn't sleep he was bound to collapse again. There was no winning with this one. Loki ate while Rune left the room, pondering just how he was going to deal with this problem of his till the older man returned. Rune eventually asked him about the nightmares. For a moment Loki didn't say anything. He did not like to talk about this but it was hard to keep thr truth hidden now after everything that happened. “Yeah...I don't know how much of the first night we met that you remember. But if my memory is correct I told you the reason I was out and about that late was cause of night terrors...well...they have not stopped since then.” That would help give some perspective on how bad his situation was. It had been quite awhile since their first encounter, which happened to be when the night terrors had started. “Its been hard trying to get any sleep for a month now. With the exception of today at best I get maybe one hour of sleep, two hours at best. Eventually I just stopped sleeping all together. I drink as much coffee as I can to keep myself awake and keep myself busy just so I have an excuse not to...guess its not helping me at much huh?” When Rune asked him if he would like anything else to drink the boy nodded. “Yeah, if you have anything strong enough to keep me from ever sleeping again I would love it.”____________________________ Tag: Rune Delacroix

Rune slowly ate his food as Loki talked. Night terrors? He did remember Loki mentioning something like that the first night they met, but he had never thought about it because of everything else that had happened that night. The purr Loki let out at eating the food made Rune a little happy inside and his cheeks tinted a light pink, he covered it up by taking another sip from his drink. He was glad Loki liked it, but he doubted pretty boy had been eating much, with how much skinnier he looked than that first night a month ago.
Looking up, his eyebrows pulled together in a frown. "You haven't gotten any sleep for a month?" That was not good. Regardless if Loki said he was going to be fine, there had to be some kind of solution to this. No one could keep on going like that with no sleep, and today with Loki passing out in front of Rune was a perfect example of that.
Rune let out a small chuckle at the last statement though, and shook his head. "No, but Loki that is not a solution, its a way out." He told the younger man, picking up the empty coffee mug and his now empty bowl. He went into the kitchen, depositing said dishes into the sink and tapping his fingers on the counter. He let out a breath before moving back into the bedroom and opening the top drawer of his dresser, he pulled out some sweat pants and a t-shirt that he used when he wanted to be comfy and set them on the bed next to Loki.
"You can stay here for a few days, at least so I won't worry about you going and passing out somewhere else. You were lucky it was me." Rune ran his hand through his hair, picking up his drink and finishing it. "I'll let you get changed." He grabbed another pair of sweatpants, leaving the room and closing the door behind him. He went into the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. He was crazy. He had to be to be letting pretty boy stay at his place. With how he had felt about Loki before...."He is gonna be the death of me." Rune shook his head, changing out of his jeans and into his sweatpants before throwing some cold water on his face. He dried his face and brushed his teeth.
He could do this. He could be ok. It wouldn't be a problem, right? He took a few deep breaths and pulled out his phone, scrolling down to Garm's number and dialing it. After a few rings he heard the familiar voice on the other end. "Garm! You answered. Wait. Where have you been? Its been hours since I left you a message! Fuck Garm, I need your advice." Rune walked out of the bathroom, moving to the balcony that was attached to his living room. It wasn't really a balcony, more of a fire escape that Rune could chill at if he wanted some privacy or anything. It faced the ally and so no one really passed through. He sighed, sitting down on the fire escape after closing the window. "Garm...remember when I told you about Loki, the pretty boy....well he is here. He passed out and you didn't answer your phone and so I brought him here and he told me he hasn't slept in like a month and I didn't want to see him passing out again and so I offered for him to stay here for a few days, but he is....we....What the fuck do I do Garm?!" He ran a hand through his hair. He glanced into the apartment and let out a sigh. He was totally crazy. He had slowly been coming to terms with his sexuality more and more, with the help of Garm, sort of...really Garm wasn't much help at all, but he needed to stop freaking out every time he saw an attractive man. He was lucky he got a little more used to being around Loki while the younger guy was sleeping, it helped a little bit to where Rune could be in the same room without flipping his lid, and he had a little more control now than before where he was kind of drunk.

“Yeah...its been that long.” Loki admitted. He wasn't proud of it. Whenever night terrors started to affect him it always lasted awhile, most of the time it last for two weeks before they started dying down. It was rare for them to last this long. Now they were starting to affect his over all health. He had so little energy to run on, he was exhausted both mentally and physically, even his appetite was gone. Today was a clear sign he could not keep this whole sleepless thing up. But what was he going to do? Loki did not need Rune to tell him that trying to avoid sleeping was not the solution to his problems but at this point he didn't know what to do about them. “Having a way out is better than nothing.” the boy replied as he finished off his meal. “I know I need sleep but sleeping brings about its own kind of trouble now. I can take drugs or make potions that will force me to go into a long sleep but they will not protect me from the nightmares. I can't win here. The only thing I can do is ride it out until it passes. It will pass eventually.” It always did, though right now the problem was how much longer he could last till the nightmares ended or he finally lost it. Just looking at today's events did not bode well for this shifter. He was fucked, he knew it, and now Rune knew it too.
Loki was left with his thoughts for a moment before Rune returned to offer him a change of clothes and his place to crash for a few days. “Yeah, I know that. Thanks a lot, for everything. I don't know if its a good idea for me to stay here for that long. I can be out of your hair by tomorrow morning. Its a lot safer to travel then.” It was a little hard accepting such an extended invite but he did accept the change of clothes at least. Should he change though? He hesitated for a minute as he looked at the clothes he had been given. It wasn't the best idea to make himself too comfortable when he was trying to avoid sleeping, but he couldn't just stay in the clothing he had forever. Screw it he thought and started to disrobe.
Loki threw on the black t-shirt, noticing how loosely it fit over his slender frame. God he hated how damn small he was. It was even worse trying to put on the sweat pants. They kept falling off of him despite his best efforts to keep them from slipping off. In the end he had to abandon them. It wasn't a that big of a deal if he only had a shirt and boxers on. That was normally what he wore to bed back at home. At least he wasn't as bad as Azazel. The fallen angel did not wear much to bed when he slept, sometimes he wore nothing at all. It wasn't uncommon to see him going about the apartment naked. Loki was a little too self conscious to do something so daring with the body he had, even more so when he was staying over someone else's place. The boy folded up his clothes as well as the sweat pants and put them neatly on top of the dresser before sitting back on the bed.

It was really late in the day for the phone to start ringing. The damn thing nearly startled the vicious hellhound when he heard it. Garm was never too found of the damn telephone but like it or not he always answered it, even at a time like this. He could already guess who might be on the other end. It was too late in the night for him to be getting any business calls, and besides customers there were only one, no, two other people had his phone number. “Hello Rune.” Garm greeted the moment he picked up, it was a safe bet to guess who was calling him at this hour. His guess had been a damn good one too, the second he replied he heard the cat shifter's voice on the other end. “Wait, you called earlier?” Garm didn't remember receiving any calls earlier today. He had been home over an hour ago. One look at the phone though answered that for him. Shoot, he must've been so sidetracked earlier that he didn't notice the unheard message. “Oh, I am sorry. I went out today and ran into a new friend. I ended up spending more time then I had planned out with her. What happened? Are you alright?” Not long after he asked those words did Rune bombard him with the whole story. Geez, talk about a very eventful day for everyone. “Wait a second, slow down...let me get your story straight. You found the boy you like and he got into some trouble?” That would explain the urgency in Rune's voice. “This guy is another cat right? Long periods without sleep is bad for anyone, but its especially troublesome for your kind. I guess you are having a bit of trouble communicating with him to find out why he hasn't been sleeping right?” The hound pondered what to say at a time like this. He knew that Rune did not just call for advice on how to treat someone with Loki's condition. What he needed was support on how to deal with someone he was attracted to. This was not Garm's area of expertise. Garm was socially inept, he could count on one hand how many people he considered at least somewhat close to in his whole life and one of them was dead. Making friends was difficult, and romance? Well that was out of the question. But Rune needed help and he wasn't going to just ignore that. “If you need help I can come over now. If you feel too uncomfortable in your place I can take him over to mine.”

Rune listened to Garm recap the situation. It wasn't that he was uncomfortable or anything...well he kind of was. But Garm coming over sounded like both a god-send and a curse. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Fuck Garm, I don't know. Like it seems fine...I'm just...I don't fuckin' know. This kid he...and I....I think I just -- fuck." He could barely form a full sentence, casting his eyes into the dark city. He sighed. "I'll call you tomorrow Garm, if it gets too bad I'll call you tonight and you can come over." He had to face this himself. He rolled his shoulders, hanging up the phone. What the fuck was he thinking?
Climbing back through the window into his apartment, he filled his glass again, swigging it down. Just enough to relax him a little and he rolled his eyes at his own self. Rune walked back into the bedroom, a blush touching his face immediately upon seeing Loki in just the shirt and boxers. He was swallowed by the shirt much more than Rune had thought he would be, and he let out a sigh. "You don't have to get out of my hair by morning, Loki. Don't push yourself. Are you still hungry?" His thoughts were moving much faster than his mouth and he already determined he was running low on food in the apartment. He didn't spend as much time there as usual and so he didn't shop as much for food, but he could order something if Loki was really hungry.
He rubbed his neck. "Look, you can have the bed tonight if you want, I can sleep on the couch." This was the first time Rune had given up his bed. He usually didn't care, but he didn't want to make Loki uncomfortable. His couch was tiny compared to him, but what choice did he have? He could sleep in the bed with Loki...but how would Loki feel about it? He looked at Loki, probably for the first time tonight, really looked at him. The kid was a heart attack waiting to happen, with his pretty face and slim body. The fact that he even let himself pass out in public....Rune idly wondered if anyone was looking for him. "Do you need to use my phone?" He asked on a side note, pulling out his cell.
