What would the poor cat do now? Havoc and his gang of hellhounds were surrounding the tree she decided to take refuge in. It would take a miracle for her to get down. Three large hellish beast where waiting for her descent. The feline couldn’t do too much at this point. If Akeelah decided to come down Havoc wouldn’t hesitate to break every bone in her body. Hey, as long as she survived the ordeal he would be pleased. But for the time being, Havoc needed to figure out a way to get her down. He hoped Rollo would hurry back with the cat. Oh he couldn’t wait to see the look on Akeelah’s face when they tear into the cat. Havoc licked his lips with satisfaction. The brutish male wasn’t above playing dirty. If it got the job done then so be it.
The remaining hound had been staring at the tree trunk for quite some time. Deep in that thick head of his he was calculating a plan to get up the damn tree. This wouldn’t work for several reasons. One, his paws weren’t designed to climb, and two his body was way too massive to get up the tree without falling. Gravity would become his biggest enemy. The foolish beast didn’t think this through. Hey if cats could do it he could do it, right? After a quick glance to his Alpha he took the large tree in his claws and attempted to shimmy up its rough trunk. He didn’t get too far. His large claws dug into the bark, and just as he pushed up he began to slide down. It appeared that he was far too heavy to get up there. The large hellhound snorted as he gave up and sat at the base of the tree. Meanwhile, Rollo came bounding back to the group. He held something brown and bloody in his jaws. Havoc couldn’t make out what it was until he came closer. Rollo’s tail, and ears where pricked up as he happily trotted over to alpha. Havoc stood as he waited for him to come closer. Soon enough he stood before Havoc like a proud beast as he dropped the bloodied corpse onto the ground. It hit the ground with a splat. Havoc then leaned in and examined the carcass. Once he realized what it was the look of disappointment, and even anger took over his hellish features. The hair on the back of his neck began to stand up as he glared at his fellow pack-mate. “Rollo, do you know what this is?” Havoc began as he tail fluffed up and stood erect into his backside. Havoc’s hackles where raised as his chest pushed itself against Rollo’s side. The smaller hellhound who sported the main dipped his head. Havoc didn’t seem pleased with his find. The pointed triangle ears that sat upon his head pulled back against his skull, and his bushy tail tucked between his back legs. “Y-yes, it-it is a rabbit.” Rollo replied. “I-I couldn’t find any cats. So I brought this back instead.” This sort of disobedience angered Havoc. “Wrong answer…” The Alpha wasn’t going to stand for it. In a pack of hellhound alpha’s word was law. If he wanted a cat, the subordinate must get a cat, or face the wrath of their leader’s fangs. This situation would be no different. It was just the way things were in a pack of hellish beasts. Rollo continued to lower his head, and his body to the ground. It was when he gained the courage to glanced up at havoc was when all hell broke loose. As soon as the two made eye contact Havoc lost it. The large beast snarled, he grabbed onto the scruff of Rollo’s neck and began to tear into him. The male needed to know his place. The other, more brawny of the three beasts rushed over to Havoc’s side and joined him in punishing poor Rollo. The cool night air filled with snarls, and yelps. All seemed to be too busy beating Rollo that they had forgotten about guarding the tree.

After a few minutes of pondering Akeelah had a plan. It wasn’t perfect, and had a bit of risk but it was something. Tree hopping didn’t sound like much of a plan though, in the end she would still have to make it to the ground and somehow get past the hellhounds. But she could do it. She was agile enough and a good climber to boot. And for once it was something that she would be better at in her human form. Yes, as a human she would have a better shot at gaining speed for this. Her form was smaller and lighter than her feline one, which meant she could chance jumping onto smaller branches that she would otherwise not risk the effort on. Yup, it was the best she could do for now so she would have to try it. And she would have to try it quickly too. Now with one of the hellhounds gone this would be as good as any time to make a break for it. All she needed now was something to temporarily stale the other two if that were possible, but what?
Akeelah looked around quickly for something to use to keep the other’s occupied but found nothing that could help her. The girl was about to venture further up to see if she could something to throw at her enemies when she heard something bounding towards them. The shifter swore when she saw the hellhound Rollo return with his catch. How the bastard managed to find some poor feline that fast was a mystery to her, but that wasn’t the big issue. He was back, which meant that her small window of opportunity had vanished before she could even try anything. Akeelah turned away from the fiend, she was about to climb further up so she wouldn’t have to watch what she knew was going to come next when Havoc’s voice made her stop. The shifter’s gaze dropped once more to the trio below her. Havoc sounded pissed, but why? The shifter soon discovered the reason. The sight of the rabbit made the girl chuckle. Rollo truly was a moron bringing a rabbit back as compensation.
What happened next was far less amusing though. At the sight of his lackey’s failed hunt Havoc became furious. He snapped at the male at first, but when Rollo lowered his guard both his alpha and other fellow pack mate attacked him. What happened next had to be the most gruesome scene that Akeelah had ever seen in her life. Even she had to feel sorry for the fate that befell Rollo. For a moment Akeelah could only watch in mute horror as the others began ripping the hound apart. But after a few seconds her brain kicked back into gear. If there was any time to make a break for it now was the chance. Abandoning her previous plan Akeelah started to quickly climb down the tree, and shifted into a leopard just before landing safely on the ground (hoping that the other two couldn’t hear her over the screams of their dying pack mate) and made a break for it.

The two large beasts continued to ravage their fellow hound. They pulled and yank that the smaller hound’s fur with their fangs. Ripping and tugging chunks of fluffy undercoat from his cowering body. From time to time they would catch flesh between their fangs, though the goal was to pluck the fur from the smaller male’s frame. Tiny streams of crimson trailed down Rollo’s body as he was being shaken. When the other larger hound joined in Havoc didn’t stop him. He had every right to join him in punishing this lousy excuse of a beta. Rollo didn’t even attempt to fight back. It would be useless against two other hounds. Instead of holding his own, he took the beating that was being issued to him. Struggling would only make this satiation worse. He was lucky, he was getting his fur plucked instead of having his legs ripped off, or worse his own genital. It wasn’t an uncommon punishment in the hellhound community. This beating alone still pained him. Hell, from time to time Havoc would purposely dig his fangs into the side of his neck and strip off a piece of flesh. Granted it was a very thin layer, but it still left a mark.
Despite being beaten his alpha was allowing him to live. Havoc would make sure Rollo was alive after this. He just wanted the male to learn his place in the pack. Rollo was once Havoc’s beta, but now he would be knocked down to omega after the stunt he pulled tonight. Havoc ripped a few chunks of fur from Rollo’s pelt. He poor hound screeched in agony. This brawl looked far worse than it actually was. The goal wasn’t to kill but humiliate. When they finished with him his once glossy flowing fur would looked ragged and unkempt. Rollo would take on the appearance of a mange infested canine. And It would take some while for his fur to grow back. From the untrained eye it appeared that they were killing their own pack member.
Havoc and the other beast where so busy with Rollo that they seemed to have forgotten about Akeelah. They didn’t even realize she had left them. Luckily, Rollo spoke up above the sea of snarls. He began to realize their prisoner had escaped, and to save his own fur he’d rat her out. “S-she’s gone…the-the cat is gone A-alpha!” Rollo barked. Havoc immediately stopped, he shook his head, freeing the last bits of fur from his maw before he turned to the tree. Blood red orbs scanned the empty branches like a radar. Rollo was right. Akeelah was nowhere to be seen. The craft feline made a break for it while they were dealing with Rollo. Havoc’s muzzle crinkled into a snarl as he looked around. “DAMN IT!!” Havoc barked. His head then snapped around to face his pack. “What are you two waiting for!? Get the hell up and find her!! I want her alive!” The beast then lowered his head to the ground. It didn’t take long for him to find her scent. As soon as it swept into his nose he took off into the woods, his pack followed. If Akeelah didn’t hurry she would find a couple of hellish beasts on her tail.

The second that the leopard hit the ground she ran as fast as her legs could possibly carry her, never once looking back to see if the others had noticed in fear that she would lose what little time that she had. This was after all a race against time, with each passing second Akeelah was losing what little advantage she had at getting away. For now at least things seemed to be in her favor. The sounds of the snarling hounds quickly vanished and she couldn’t hear their pursuit. Havoc didn’t realize that she was gone. That was good, but that news wasn’t enough to ease her fears. It would only be a matter of time before Havoc and the remaining mutt learned that she made a run for it and when they did they would be after her. When that would be she didn’t know, if they were really thick then they might think that she had gone up further in the tree out of their line of vision. But Akeelah doubted that she was that lucky. The chances were in a matter of moments they would discover that she was missing and bound after her. What she needed to do now was get the hell out of the forest and back o Rose’s place.
That was easier said than done. Akeelah doubted that she would get the time between now and when Havoc found out she left to get out of the forest without being caught. There was no telling what might be waiting for her outside the woods either. Havoc had been smart enough to travel with a small group just to meet her, so there was a chance he might’ve made a few other hounds stay behind her usual entrance just to grab her. What Akeelah needed to do now was find another hiding place and wait till they gave up searching for her. Eventually the duo would grow tired of trying to find her and leave, then she could take a different route out of the forest and head back home. The leopard racked her brain as she ran, trying to recall all the places in her turf that she had marked down as safe spots, places that she could run to when she was in a pinch like this.
Right now the closest safe spot to her was the old building in the middle of the forest but Akeelah quickly counted that one out. It was too close to where the others were and was too obvious as a hiding place, that and if she was discovered there she would be cornered fast. No, the house was out of the picture. There was another safe spot further ahead from there though, it would have to do for now. Akeelah started to charge off in the direction of the other safe spot when she heard heavy footfalls. The sound was faint, which meant that they were not too close to her but she knew that the bastards were tracking her down. Shit! the shifter thought. So much for making it to the safe spot now, there was no way that she was going to make it in time. Come on girl, think! What should I do now? She couldn’t stop and try to fight off her pursuers now, the best she could do was hide. Sadly there weren’t a lot of places to hide.
An idea struck her just then. If she couldn’t hide in one of the safe spots she would have to make due with one of her surroundings. Akeelah tried to pick up the pace a little bit before leaping up another tree and scaled up it. For the second time that night the trees were going to be her only sanctuary, but this time she was going to try something different. The leopard climbed up as fast as she could till she found a good spot high up enough that she would be hard to spot, and with enough leaves in the way to hide her form before turning back into her human shape and laid still. Unlike the first time she bounded up a tree Akeelah had covered enough distance between her and her pursuers that there was a chance that they didn’t see which tree she ran up to. If everything went smoothly they wouldn’t have noticed that she had gone up at all and still think she was on the ground. If that happened they would continue going forward, leaving Akeelah with the perfect chance to slip past them for good.

Heavy paws thundered against the earth. A trio of hellish beast ran through the dense underbrush. When their leader, Havoc stopped to take in Akeelah’s scent the rest followed suit. “If I were a stupid cat where would I be?” Havoc hummed as he sniffed around a small ravine. The rest of the pack was nearby. He could hear their annoyed snarls and constant bickering. Man, he really needed new pack members. Hellhound just weren’t as efficient as they used to be. Havoc blamed the human forms, if they never had any then there would be no personality to combat the instinct. Havoc shook it off. There was no use in complaining about his company when he had a feline to find. There were quite a few hiding places for the large cat out here in these woods. Question was if she would use them. Surly the craft feline wouldn’t be stupid enough to hide in plain sight. No, that would be too easy. Havoc snorted as he lifted his muzzle from the ground and turned to his pack. He had to think of something else; another plan that didn’t involve them running around in a circle like a pack of idiots. This alpha thing was harder than Havoc could have ever predicted. The role itself really challenged his mind and his entreaty. Gil made it look easy. Well, Akeelah couldn’t have gone far. There was only so much wooded space out here. If she kept running she would have ended up in the city. The best thing to do would be to follow her scent. Unfortunately, they seemed to have lost it. Havoc trotted up to his fellow pack members, he then sighed before he spoke. “Don’t let this feline get under your skin boys. We’ll find her.” He began as his large head turned to the south end of the woods. ”and we’ll tear that bit apart-“He stopped in mid-sentence and shook his head rapidly. “I mean, we need her alive so just beat her something fierce.” Havoc then grumbled as he trotted along, his pack followed. With a heavy sigh, Havoc rolled his shoulders back. “I’ll find you Akeelah, even if it means burning this whole forest to the ground…” Suddenly it hit him. A large toothy grin creased his maw. He could use his fire powers to lure the feline out of hiding. Granted, burning down the forest could alert the humans to their presence, but at this point Havoc didn’t really care. A dark chuckle rose from his throat as he turned to his pack members. The large beast then place one of his paws onto the tree he was standing next too. “Watch closely boys, I’m about you should you how to smoke a cat out of it's hiding place.” The male teased. He concentrated for a moment when suddenly a flame erupted around his paw. The hellfire spread to the tree. The gentle crackling of fire could be heard as it began to spider up the tree, consuming everything in its way. Havoc removed his paw and watched as a plum of smoke began to bellow up from his hellish creation. He cackled before turning to his pack yet again. “Spread out, and remember I want this bitch alive!” The pack didn’t hesitate to follow their Leader's orders, even if it meant being burned alive. Hellhound where for hell, but that didn’t make them fire proof.
(( You can decide whether or not the flame/smoke is anywhere near Akeelah. ))

Akeelah laid down low on the branch, peering down to the forest floor below as she heard the small pack come closer. Please don’t find me, please don’t find me, please don’t find me! the girl silently pleaded. Akeelah didn’t risk coming out of that first tree just to get stuck up another one by this group. She couldn’t risk getting caught in Havoc’s schemes. She didn’t want to see Gil again, much less be responsible for his death. Hate him or not, Akeelah didn’t know what she would feel if she saw her former mate killed in front of her. Not only that but what would happen to her afterwards? If things went according to Havoc’s stupid plan once he had his revenge she would no longer be needed. Akeelah had no doubt that the bastard planned to kill her once everything was finished. There was little reason for him to let her just walk away afterwards. If Havoc got his hands on her then she would be dead, he wouldn’t kill her now, but eventually he would, and probably make it slow and painful too.
Not long after the shifter settled down into her hiding place did Havoc and his cronies come in sight. Akeelah remained still and held her breath as they came bounding towards her hiding spot. Had they spotted her come up here? Would they catch her scent and camp around her tree again? She wondered grimly. Much to her relief they didn’t. The trio ran right past her hiding spot and kept going till they were well out of sight. Akeelah waited a few seconds after she lost track of them to finally let out a sigh of relief. Oh god she was safe. She got away! But for how much longer? It would take awhile for Havoc to give up on his hunt once he realized that she had given him the slip. He and his cronies were bound to wander around the woods a couple of times; they could even walk past where she was hiding now a couple of times in their pursuit of her. She would’ve felt a little more relieved if only they had killed Rollo. His presence had surprised her, she was sure that she saw them maul the poor idiot when she had made a run for it. It looked like she was wrong about that.
Rollo still being around though wouldn’t help them find her though. So long as Akeelah played it safe she could come out of this mess alive. The shifter pulled herself back up and leaned against the tree trunk as she looked up at the sky. The best that she could do right now was sit tight and wait for this whole mess to blow over. By sunrise the dumb brutes would have to give up. By that time humans would start to walk around the forest. Though hellhounds weren’t scared of humans, even they had the brains to keep their true nature hidden. They would eventually give up and leave. I should wait by mid-day to leave though the girl thought. It didn’t hurt to be cautious. Noon was around the time that the humans would be most active, the trio would have to leave before then so she would be free to just jump back down, and take another route out of the forest and back to Rose. Hopefully Rose wouldn’t worry too much about her coming back so late. But it was better to arrive late than not at all.
Akeelah sighed; she had a long night ahead of her and not a lot to do. The only thing left to do was to sit tight and reserve her energy. The shifter took another look around her before she made herself comfortable and started to drift off to sleep. But sleep was hard t come by. Though she knew that she needed it to keep her mind sharp and regain her energy it was hard to rest when her mind was so busy, and every single noise or sudden movement made her jump. She was half debating to give up when she smelled smoke. “What the?” the girl muttered, was she smelling things? The girl turned to look around where the smell was coming from just in time to see the thick black clouds coming in from the distance.
The girl swore, first being hunted down by a bunch of rabid hellbeast and now this. It couldn’t be a coincidence that a fire had started now that she had gotten away from Havoc. The hound was just reckless enough to set fire to the forest just to flush her out.And his plan was working. The second that Akeelah saw the fire approaching, she scrambled down the tree, shifted and started to run. Even though she knew it was just a trap to force her out of hiding she couldn’t possibly stay where she was, or try to go somewhere else to hide without risking being burned alive. The leopard ran as fast as she could to escape the flames, but the fire was gaining on her fast. Smoke filled her lungs, threatening to choke her out but she dared not stop. Every impulse Akeelah had were all screaming at her to get out of the forest.

Havoc watched as his creation began to spread like the plague. It pleased him to see such a large, healthy fire. The large beast’s tail swayed slowly behind him as he stood proud and confident. A large toothy grin then stretched his maw. This was going to be a very interesting hunt. Havoc was confident that his plan would work. No creature, not even hellhound could withstand fire for very long. It was only a matter of time before Akeelah came out of hiding. She wasn’t stupid enough to stay In one place and be burned alive. No, the female had a strong will to live. For now it was a waiting game. After looking over his work the beasts smiled before turning to his band of misfits. He eyed the two males, confident that they could help him find Akeelah without being distracted by the fire or the animals fleeing the scene.Ah, that’s right, the residence of the forest where at his mercy! They abandoned their forest homes; there was no time to waist. The fire was moving faster than havoc could have predicted. Havoc almost felt powerful to have threatened the lives of countless beings. Not only would this fire affect Akeelah, but humans and animals as well. Unfortunately, He was running out of time. Havoc and his pack needed to get Akeelah and get out of there before the humans showed up to put out the fire. Damn humans and their fire departments. Havoc was sure they were already on their way. The male sighed and turned back to the forest, watching as a flock of birds rose into the air. As havoc stood there the forest floor began to come alive with chatter and moving bodies. “Spread out and find her.” Havoc commanded as a group of tiny forest rodents ran over his paws. He ignored them for the time being. “-but stay within ear shot. I want all of us to make it back to the den in one piece.” The hellhound obeyed without hesitation. As they trotted away Havoc began to go off on his own. He knew it would be difficult to take on the leopard alone, he only hoped the smoke would slow her down and stomp out her spirit.
There was a downside to his fire powers. Smoke, it was an element that he couldn’t control. It was a product of his creation, and he couldn’t stand it. This was why he would stay on the outskirts of the forest while he had his pack inside the main line. He knew they were smart enough to stay away from the flames but the smoke was just as dangerous as the fire. Ah, well better them than him, right? It was hard to hear anything over the crackling of the inferno. Every so often Havoc’s sensitive ears would pick up on a screech or two. He knew the noise didn’t come from his hounds, but something else entirely. Aleelah’s decision to run not only put her life on the line but countless others as well. Havoc wanted the leopard to see the destruction that she ‘caused’. Surly, he could twist things around to make it seem like she was to blame for the destruction of the forest. Suddenly, his beady blood red eye’s caught sight of movement in the brush. Whatever it was, it was large. Havoc licked his lips with satisfaction. Akeelah wasn’t the only large animal in the forest. This place had bear, deer and supernatural. This realization didn’t bother havoc in the least, he was hell bent on finding Akeelah; Even if it meant running to another dangerous animal. Without as much as a warning Havoc’s ears pulled back against his skull as he rushed after this fleeing creature. His paws thundered against the ground as he ran, full speed towards this fleeing beast. It was hard to see once he reentered the brush. The smoke and embers irritated his eyes. Sometimes he hated fire, and for this reason alone. He could feel the intense heat radiating onto his body. He had to endure it! As Havoc neared the creature it became apparent that it was light in color with a long tail. Havoc squinted; he could almost make out spots! This was it, Akeelah. The beast began to cough as he neared the leopard. The large male opened his jaws and clamped down onto Akeelah’s tail. What would she do now?

The fire spread faster than anyone could have possibly expected. Within moments a third of the forest burned brightly into the night. It didn’t take long for total chaos to set in. Like Akeelah, everything else that lived in the woods had one thought in mind, escape. From the small and harmless to the big and powerful, all the creatures of the forest sprung out of their hiding places and all made a run for it. It was hard enough to try and outrun the flames and the smoke, but it was becoming a chore to not crash into the other animals scrambling to get away. It didn’t help that because of all the other animals making a run for it, Akeelah couldn’t tell if the footsteps she heard behind her was that of a frightened animal, or a mad hellhound intent on tearing her apart. That was what Havoc wanted of course. As much as she hated to admit it the bastard was smart. But he was reckless. His plot would quickly backfire on him if he couldn’t catch her right away. Even he and his pack mates wouldn’t be able to stand the fire and smoke for long. A part of her hoped that they would hang around long enough to get trapped and burn to death. Knowing her luck though she was going to be the one to be trapped and killed.
It was already getting harder for the shifter to keep moving. All the running and fighting from earlier tonight had finally taken its toll. The leopard was exhausted, she hadn’t had much of a chance to take a break, and because of that she was slower than she normally was. It didn’t help that the fire was spreading much faster than she was able to run, or that the smoke was making it harder for her to breath. Come on girl you can’t give up yet! she mentally screamed at herself. Tired or not she had to keep going. She couldn’t stop now. To stop meant either dying by the flames or getting caught by a hellhound. Neither were options that she wanted to deal with, she had to move! Sadly no amount of determination on her part could help her avoid the latter outcome. Akeelah didn’t know that the footsteps of the creature behind her belonged to Havoc. So she was unprepared for his attack. But the second that he grabbed her tail she lashed out at him. With an angry roar the small leopard turned around and lashed out with her fangs and claws, right at the bastard’s face. If he didn’t let go she would sink her fangs into his neck and try to suffocate him to death.

This feline was more agile than he expected. Havoc was a fool for underestimating her. Feline or not the woman still had some fight in her. Akeelah was just as much has a wild animal as he was, and with her cornered who know what would happen. The blinding smoke hung like a curtain around the dueling beasts. Visibility was next to impossible at this point. The fire had grown in size, much to Havoc’s amazement. Unfortunately, it came with a price. Smoke, and lots of it. Havoc could barely open his eyes as he neared Akeelah. Being a hellhound didn’t make you fire proof-or smoke proof in this instance. The crafty hound dealt with his stinging retinas as he finally crept upon the lone feline. Havoc didn’t hesitate to attack.
As soon as Havoc’s fangs clamped down onto her tail, the smaller beast spun around with claws poised like talons. Akeelah didn’t hesitate to dig them into his face. Havoc, surprisingly enough didn’t cry out in pain. Granted, his face was now stinging like his eyes. Akeelah’s powerful claws racked across Havoc’s flesh. The male let lose a loud growl as he attempted to pull away. By the time he attempted to release himself from Akeelah’s claws it was too late. The swift feline jumped on him and dug her fangs into his throat. The bitch could bite; he had to give her that. Akeelah went straight for the throat. Her fangs slid through his neck like a hot knife on butter. Now Havoc knew he was in trouble. The male attempted to calm himself down. Freaking out would only make things worse. He didn’t want to give the female the pleasure of watching him suffer. Instead, Havoc thought up a plan. A large sharp toothed grin creased Havoc’s maw. He sank to the ground, pinning Akeelah under him. The large beasts then pushed all of his weight onto the leopard’s body. He aimed at pushing down her chest to restrict her breathing. It was only a matter of time before one of the two gave in. The forest around the couple was still burning. Every so often Havoc would attempt to couch. Despite the circumstances the male remained ever so vigilant. This wasn’t the first time he had been held by the throat. Akeelah wasn’t going to get away! He would rather die than admit defeat. He could only hope the pack would show up soon.

((Nah, don't worry about it. Your post is fine.))
Even blinded and cornered Akeelah was not the type to give up easily. Things looked grave, the shifter had used up a great deal of energy trying to escape the three hellhounds that were pursuing her, most of the adrenaline that she had gained earlier that night had started to wear off before the fire started. Now with the flames growing at a rapid pace and the smoke growing in its wake it was getting harder to see or breathe. But Akeelah pressed on, to give up now meant dying. Akeelah didn’t want to die like some scared animal in a blazing inferno, being hunted down till she drew her last breath. She didn’t want to die for Havoc’s stupid revenge plot. She was determined to get out of this and get back to Rose’s place. She could figure out how to deal with the stupid hellhound chasing after her tail once she was safe enough to think properly. But sadly that was not meant to be.
Not long after she tried to make her escape did Havoc make a grab for her, though Akeelah didn’t know that it was Havoc that attacked her. It was hard to see past all the smoke, the damn thing made her eyes burn that it was hard to make out anything even at this close of a range. All she knew was that one of the things that were hunting her had found and now attacked her, and she was going to make them suffer for it. Instead of panicking, or trying to run for it, Akeelah fought back. She didn’t need to see what she was doing to maul Havoc’s face. The feline’s razor sharp claws made quick work of the poor bastard’s face, leaving more marks on the hound’s face than she had done earlier that night. She could feel her attacker trying to pull away but she didn’t let up. No, she couldn’t let this bastard get away from her. All the anger and frustration over all that had happened had taken over the shifter in that instant. If this bastard wanted a fight then she was going to give him a fight to remember.
Before Havoc could pull away from her Akeelah went straight for his throat. Her fangs hit their mark instantly, slicing through his flesh to his windpipe. Now Havoc was screwed, Akeelah bit down as hard as she could to stop him from being able to breath, and with her claws still in the rest of his body there was no way that the male could pull her off of him. This was the second time that Akeelah had tried to strangle Havoc like this. But unlike the last time he didn’t have any of his buddies to help pry her off of him. This time she would kill him…or so she thought. While she had a vice like grip on Havoc she was too small even in this form to really pin him down so she could finish him off. But the same couldn’t be said for him. Instead of panicking and trying to fling her off Havoc slammed her to the ground and used his own body weight to cut off her ability to breathe.
The two had reached a stalemate, both sides having the other in a helpless situation that they couldn’t escape from. It was a stalemate that wouldn’t last long though, eventually one side would lose. And it looked like it would be her. As strong as the shifter was she couldn’t push Havoc off of her, and she had been breathing in the smoke longer too. It was already hard enough to breathe without him forcing what little air she had left out of her. Akeelah struggled to stay conscious but she couldn’t keep it up for long. Slowly her grip on Havoc started to loosen, the world around her started to become blurry before she finally slipped into unconsciousness.
