Rolling her shoulders, Alice pulled her hair into a bun. She looked back into the microscope at the blood she had been studying for the last two hours while they brought her real experiments into the lab and were safely securing them. Supernatural blood was so interesting, especially this she had now. Illusionist was by far one of the more fascinating ones. Their blood reactions to different things was definitely intriguing. Alice leaned back, tapping her perfectly manicured nails on the desk. She spun around as one of the more beefy body guards came up to tell her the specimens were in their respective cells. She had made it so that both the Illusionist and the man-made wolf were sharing cells. According to the reports, if she just dangled that red head in front of him, he would cooperate. She would see how well it worked.
The basement lab was set up in such a way, on the far wall was the re-enforced cell for the beast, and the more normal one for the illusionist. They had taken all the precautions they could for the beast experiment, even including a water release system to subdue it if need be. The illusionist cell was more normal, concrete floor and walls. The door was solid, and it would be brought out for the experiments Alice had planned. She slowly walked to the door, opening it and stepping into the cell that held the beast. It was chained up to the wall with thick braces, his arms and feet held spread apart. It still seemed to be knocked out and she walked up, her cold eyes observing the grandness that was before her. They had removed all of its clothes, and she looked at the scars that covered its body. So this was the infamous 'Drew'. She frowned. Why had they even kept his name? Idiots. It was their fault they were killed. She left the cell, locking the door down. There was a wall that divided the cells from the rest of the lab, bulletproof and also re-enforced. She moved through that door, locking it down as well. No doubt the beast was going to be angry when it woke up.
In the regular part of the lab, there were two desks, one on each side, and each held equipment for their experiments. In the middle was a bed, with straps on it. This was what she would use to hold down the illusionist during her trials. She smiled, touching the thick leather straps. She could practically feel her blood singing. She couldn't wait to hear the screams of torture from her. It was all in the name of science, of course, but who said you couldn't have fun with it.

Waking up came slowly, with a lot of nausea and a headache, but a surprising lack of pain in his stomach. He lifted his head slowly, blinking the blur from his eyes. He couldn't move much else, which wasn't surprising, considering what he remembered. The shock of fear woke him up more completely as the reality of the situation settled on him. He was back at Axium. He didn't fool himself. Now that they knew that he was an escape risk, the chance of him getting out were next to nothing. He was going to die here. Closing his eyes again, he leaned his head back against the wall and took stock of the situation.
They had a healer here, or else he wouldn't have woken up without a wound in his stomach. He had been sedated, on top of the wound that would have kept him from retorting, which meant that they were still thoroughly terrified of him. The wolf was pleased with that conclusion, but the man knew it would only make things worse. It meant that they would watch him more closely, and take no chances with him. He was naked, which was also not particularly surprising. He'd been treated like an animal by these people for too many years to expect much else. Lilith... where was Lilith? That thought made his head rise, his eyes amber again.
"Lilith?" he croaked, his head still aching as he looked around the small space.
He could smell her... faintly. She was nearby, somewhere.

Blinking, Lilith groaned. The floor was cold against her skin, and her shoulder ached unbelievably bad. She slowly sat up, a hand moving through her hair, where was she? What had....Drew...Drew was bleeding in front of her. She looked around quickly, stopping as her head throbbed a little. Looking down, Lilith felt a blush touch her cheeks, she was naked, and blinking quickly, she wrapped her arms around herself. Why was this happening? What were they doing? Slowly standing, Lilith stumbled a little but gripped the wall for balance. "Drew?" She blinked as she faintly heard her name. Where was he? "Drew?!"
Lilith felt herself getting frantic.
---------------------------------------------
Alice looked at the monitors as each of her experiments started to wake up. She tapped her chin, the first thing they asked for was each other. How disgusting. She stood up, grabbing her tablet along with a file and walking into the beasts cell. AE2466513.." She opened the file, clicking her tongue. This specimen had caused a lot of grief, but she should be able to put an end to that. According to what she had read thus far, they were trying to combat werewolves when AE2466513 escaped, killing all of the scientists that had been experimenting on it. She closed the file. "If you want to know about IL8644701, you will do exactly as I say." She glanced up at Drew, holding up the tablet with the security footage of the illusionist in real time. Alice was really wondering exactly what kind of reaction she could bolster from it, so she knew how far she could go with IL8644701.

He wanted to growl at the woman, tell her that Lilith had a name, but he said nothing. He knew that if Lilith had been assigned a number, it meant that she was a subject now. As much as that thought pissed him off, and as much as it terrified him, knowing the survival rate of test subjects, the best way to help her was to comply until he had a chance to do otherwise. So instead, he met her eye with the pale amber of the angry wolf, saying nothing. If he let his wolf take control, there would be no possible means of getting him to cooperate, but Lilith would probably die. The trick, as always, was to keep it just on the edge of control, to keep them from thinking that he could be trifled with. With his naked body restrained as it was, there was no hiding the fact that he'd been raised to kill. His muscles and scars spoke what his mouth didn't. His eyes were as much of a threat as any word could be.
"What do you want?" he asked, his low bass voice just loud enough to be heard.
If he was honest with himself, there was very little he wouldn't do to keep her safe. His early life had broken him of any pride or honor that would prevent him from doing things that other people would never consider.

Alice felt her lips quirk up when it asked what she wanted. Why would she tell this...thing...anything like that. She closed the case on the tablet, holding it to her chest. She turned around slowly, her heels clicking on the floor and pointed a small remote up at a spot above the door. The wall opened to reveal a monitor. Clicking another button it turned on, revealing subject IL8644701 in her cell. She glanced back over at AE2466513. At that moment, two men in white lab coats, wearing goggles entered IL8644701's cell.
-----[Lilith]
When she heard a click, she stared at the door, her body frozen with fear. What was going to happen? When the two men walked in, she tried to back up, but she was already against the wall. They grabbed her pulling her through the door. She couldn't help the scream that left her lips as she tried to fight back, only to be completely picked up by the men. Before she knew it they were throwing her on a cold metal table and strapping her in. She screamed, trying to get away. DREEEW!!!"
-----[Alice]
She clicked a button, showing the surveillance footage of her lab. It showed the men, strapping down IL8644701, and you didn't need the audio to hear her screamed. Alice smiled, leaving the room. The door locked and secured itself behind her as she strolled to the table. By this time, it had stopped screaming and Alice could see the subjects face was wet from tears. She set the tablet and file down on her desk as her assistants prepared some tools. "I will need a scalpel #12, a bowl, and I need you guys be ready to staunch the bleeding. We can't let it die. Not yet." Alice put on her mask and gloves after buttoning up her lab coat, centering a light on IL8644701's chest. She began cutting down her chest, her team ready to sunction and staunch the bleeding that would occur. The subject had already been hooked up to the necessary IV's that had special medicine mixed in them to help keep the subject from dieing on the table from things like a heart attack or organ failure.
----[Lilith]
When she saw the scalpel she froze. Then the searing pain caused her to scream. She couldn't move against the restraints that held her, she was helpless against the pain. Whatever was flowing through her from the bag of fluid wouldn't let her pass out though, and eventually she felt dead against the pain, it felt like hours..days...
----[Alice]
After an hour, she had all the samples she needed at this moment, stitching the subject up and leaving the rest to the assistants. They cleaned her up, made sure she was stable and then dumped her back in her cell. Alice took of her gloves, placing her samples in a special cooling unit and made her way to AE2466513's cell. She opened the door, her heels clicking as she stepped in, regarding the specimen before her. "We have all the samples we need...for now. We might not need anymore, it all depends on your willingness to cooperate." Alice crossed her arms. What Axium wanted specifically was the same thing they wanted the last time they had him. It was an idiotic move, of course, but Axium seemed a little more desperate right now with the rising number of supernaturals. They needed this subject apparently, and it was Alice's job to get him ready for whatever Axium wanted. Of course, he had never been finished, been almost written off, Alice had a few ideas. She had been developing a special serum that should react with the wolf DNA that had already been spliced into him. It would be used to release the full power of the wolf...if it worked. She hadn't been able to test it of course, but that was why it was imperative that AE2466513 be recaptured.

Drew jerked against his restraints when he saw the men enter her cell, unable to stop the snarl that ripped from his throat. The fangs grew in his mouth as she screamed his name, but no matter how hard he yanked at the chains that held him in place, he couldn't move more than an inch or so in any direction. His door closed, and even the heavy rattling of the chains didn't pierce his consciousness next to the screaming that he could hear, but could do nothing to stop. His wrists and arms ached from pulling against the chains, but he didn't stop. He didn't know what he was planning on doing if he ever got clear of them, but all that he knew was that he had to get to Lilith. Even when blood started to drip down his fingers, he kept pulling at the chains, until he could hear them begin to creak in protest. Alice didn't seem to notice, but Drew could feel that at least one of the links had been stretched. He had just a little more room.
He screamed for her, screamed until his throat was raw, but he had no way of knowing whether or not she could hear him. The monitor that she had left for him was clearly meant to torture him, to break him, and he was all too aware that it would probably work. He would have done anything to stop them as they cut into her, but he could only watch, his hands wet with his own blood as he tried to pull himself free and failed. She stopped screaming long before they were done, and Drew's strength was spent by the time that she was returned to her cell. He slumped in his chains, his head hanging. He had failed. Her torture was all his fault, because Axium would never have found her if they hadn't been looking for him.
Drew didn't look up as his door opened again. His muscles stood out beneath his skin, a result of the exertion that had left him so tired and defeated, but despite the angry wolf that set his eyes to gold, the man's face held no defiance. He was too tired for it. The wolf didn't want to show weakness in front of the enemy, but Drew almost didn't care anymore. If he could stop something like that from happening again, he knew he would do whatever the foul woman asked him to do.

Looking at her note book, Alice noted the date. They had had the subjects in the lab for exactly 16 days, 4 hours, and 29 minutes. Alice wrote down her annotations to the reactions she had been getting from both IL8644701's cells to some splicing, along with the new reactions of trying to bring out more of the animal in AE2466513's DNA. It was supposed to be controllable, and that is where Alice had been running into problems. She didn't want to splice the DNA right back into AE2466513 because of that, and she was having problems getting stable results. Frustrated, she pushed the papers off, causing the talking to stop at the other end of the room. She turned her head slowly, leveling a cold glare at the assistants who immediately started shuffling paperwork. She sighed.
"You three are on rotation today." That put them up for feeding and taking AE2466513 off it's chains. They had been regularly doing it under extreme supervision to work out it's muscles and feed it. Today, they were going to see if they could stand to leave it off of its chains, orders from someone higher up who was going to come visit in a few hours and wanted the subject in 'tip top shape'. Alice rolled her eyes as she monitored the surveillance footage to watch the assistants. She took another, sending him to IL8644701's cell to feed it and make sure it was still alive. Alice had had to take some more samples the previous night to continue the splicing experiments. She turned back over to the files that were scattered on her desk, making notes in the margins.
----[lilith]
Lilith could no longer distinguish the days apart. Everythign was the same, sleep, eat, pain, nightmares, pain, eat, sleep. Over and over again....nightmares were of happy times, of her and Drew....
There was a noise, footsteps. Who was it? She turned her head slightly, her hair, greasy from her own sweat, falling over her face. It was another guy in a white coat. He knelt down beside her, his hands touching the side of her neck. He had a stethoscope, placing the cold metal to her her chest. That felt good and she felt herself sigh. He asked how she was feeling, she didn't say anything. He asked if she needed some water or food. "Drew..." She could only think about her love....what was happening to him? Then they heard a crash and the man stood up quickly, running to and locking down the door as screams were heard through the hallway. Lilith lifted herself up, blinking as blood splattered against her clear door.

He'd forgotten the monotony of it all. The way it got into your head, made you depend on it, made any variation more terrifying than the normalcy of the tortures that characterized every day. The wolf hated it, always had. It made them both feel sluggish, sleepy. Even when the chains were off, rare as that was, it almost hurt to move. His muscles had a constant ache that had more to do with his forced inactivity than any procedures that they were attempting. But he'd kept watch anyway. His senses were always watching his captors, always observing. Always plotting. There were five of them that stood guard over him when they took him to the small gymnasium-like space where he was allowed to exercise. Always five.
His head hung low as it normally did when they came to take the chains off, and the guards didn't think much of him anymore. Despite their initial paranoia, they had gotten used to the monotony of the routine themselves. They'd forgotten who he was, what he was. They fooled themselves into believing that he had no fight left in him. Let them think that. It would make his life easier.
The chains clinked heavily as they fell away from his limbs, revealing the deeply bruised wrists and his cold fingers. He worked his hands around a couple of times as the circulation returned to them, standing slowly. Glancing up at the scientists, he waited for them to bind his hands behind him, as they usually did, but this time they only shook their head and gestured for the door. He lowered his head and eyes again. Clenching and unclenching his fists to drive away the ache of his forearms, he followed the two guards who led the way, rolling his shoulders to minimize the soreness.
They were only a couple of steps out of Drew's room when the group paused to allow his door to close, waiting for the second set of doors to open.
"You ever been on Illusionist duty?" one of the men asked the other.
"I've fed it a couple times, but nothing fun," his partner replied, smirking. "Why, you interested in it?"
The wolf woke from its slumber in a fraction of a second, and a full-body shiver was the only warning the guards had before he reached up and put both hands on either side of the guard's head, snapping his neck like a twig in the second that they realized that he had moved. His claws had extended painfully quickly, leaving his fingertips dripping blood from the speed of the transformation, but one of the men screamed as the first guard slumped to the ground. The others leveled their tranq guns at Drew, but the lighting wasn't as good in this connecting chamber, and they barely saw him move before his claws were around the necks of two others.
He turned just as the first one fired, stabbing Drew in the upper chest with one of the darts before his claws ripped the throats out of two of the men behind him. Their bodies slammed against the walls before sliding to the ground, their blood spreading in a growing pool around their cooling corpses.
"Doctor!" one was shouting, pounding his free fist on the door as he fired dart after dart at Drew. "Lock him down!"
"No, you idiot, let us out of here!" the other survivor shouted, on the edge of panic.
Growling deep in his throat as his vision began to grow fuzzy, he fought off the cloying effects of the sedatives, which were making it hard for him to think straight. With a snarl, he hurled himself at the panicking guard, wrapping his arm around the man's throat and twisting with a sickening crack that made the guard's whole body convulse and go limp.
"Fucking beast," the last guard spat, pulling a knife from his belt.
His slash caught Drew across the chest, but the experiment pulled back just barely in time to avoid a bad cut, and got a thin slice that ran over his heart. Striking with a hand like a serpent strike, Drew caught the man's wrist and broke it, wringing a masculine scream of pain from his throat. Pulling him forward with that painful grip, Drew allowed the man to look him in the eye as the knife clattered to the ground. The man's eyes widened in shock as Drew's fangs grew in front of his eyes, and the wolf preened at the fear scent that was growing in the air.
His face was moving in and out of focus in front of Drew's eyes, with the four darts that had connected flooding his bloodstream with sedative. Growling in a noise that had no hint of human in it, Drew pulled the man's liver from his torso, still looking him in the eye as the life drained from his face. His hand was coated in red as he let go of the dead man and dropped the dripping organ onto the floor.

-----[alice]
She had been reading a file when she heard the screaming start. She looked up at the surveillance camera at what was happening in front of her. She listened to the panic gaurds and just shook her head, locking down the doors as she watched the beast pull an organ from one of them before going down due to the sedative. Idiots. They couldn't keep a handle on one subject. She clenched her teeth together as she hit some buttons on her cell phone, calling for back up guards to come in until new ones could be arranged. They said they would be there in 10 minutes and she slammed her phone down. Stupid people, can't even do anything right! She hit another couple buttons on her computer and watched the surveillance footage, waiting for AE2466513 to fall over. It was amazing he was even still upright.
----[lilith]
Moving up to the door, Lilith glanced at the terrified look on the guys face. What happened? That was when she saw it. Drew. Drew's hand inside the body of a guard he was holding up. He pulled something out and she watched the life die in the mans eyes. She blinked. And a scream left her body. She knew he killed people. Knew he had killed people. But...Drew...her Drew. Images kept flashing in her mind of her Drew, the one who had made sweet, passionate love to her. The one who laughed with her and held her. "Drew...DREW!!!" She banged on the door, causing the guard to grab her around her waste. She wanted him to turn around, to give her back her drew. Not the one that murdered people...but the one that was hers...
Then she saw him fall over and screamed again, fearing the worst.
----[alice]
"How interesting." Alice documented IL8644701's reaction on her computer as the moment she had been waiting for came around. AE2466513 was on the ground, tranquilized. She waited another minute, and the guards she had requested showed up. She hit the button to take the doors off of lockdown, the guards rushing in and gathering up a very unconcious subject. "Put it there." Alice pointed to the table she used for IL8644701 and they strapped him in. She quickly checked it's vitals and swore. He was going into cardiac arrest and that was when she had seen the amount of tranquilizer that had been injected into it. Working quickly, Alice donned her mask and gloves. It took 30 minutes before it was stable again. Alice was sweating as she put down her tools and pulled off her mask. She stared at AE2466513. She hated sweating. And this was the last time she would let anything like that happen.
She instructed a guard to lock AE2466513 in his cell, gag him, and then bring the table in there. It was held on by bolts to the ground but could be removed and put on wheels if need be. By this time, the mess in the hall had been cleaned up and she walked into the illusionists cell. It was sitting in a corner, Alice could hear the sniffles. "Pathetic." Alice grabbed up the subject, hurling her into a wall.
Oh she was pissed off. She had lost some of her best assistants who decided to be morons. She was going to have to explain this to Axium. And that beast was going to learn his lesson. They both were. Alice walked out, a guard coming in and picking up the illusionist, bringing her into AE2466513's cell. Alice looked at the precautions the guards had rigged up. The beast had not only his wrists and ankles chained, but they had brought in a circlet to chain his neck and hooked it into a ring that was on the wall, pulling it tight. They also rigged chains and circlets around his forearms and thighs to prevent further movement. "Also..put a muzzle on him..." Alice had finally finished combing through previous reports and this was necessary. When the gag was in place, Alice nodded. The guards took a place on either side of the best.
Looking at the illusionist, Alice had it strapped up to the table, and the table leaned forward, faceing AE2466513.
-----[lilith]
He had to be dead....she thought he had really been shot. Lilith curled up into the corner, the man having left her long ago. Why was this happening. It didn't register till there was a shadow that someone else was there. Someone with heels. She heard one word before she was dragged up and her small body flung against a wall. She felt her head spin as she fell to the ground with a groan. That wasn't the end though as she was suddenly being moved into another room. Her head was spinning as she felt the familiar cold of the metal table against her back. Her eyes widened in terror before she saw Drew. Gagged and chained on the wall opposite of her. What?.....He was covered in blood...from the dead men she assumed...and she blinked, terror filling her.
----[alice]
As AE2466513 came to, Alice had a file in her hand. Looking at a paper in it. One thing no one but her knew was that an abomination was growing inside IL8644701. She looked up, giving the beast a smile. "Good, you are up now. If you haven't noticed, we had to take some extra precautions this time. But you have an audience as well." She looked at the illusionist, smiling at the terror on her face. "You have not been a good beast, so you must be punished." She held up the paper so Drew could see it. "This little number right here...this means that that illusionist is pregnant. I assume it is your child." She handed the file to a very jumpy assistant who had just arrived and took a deep breath. "You do not kill my staff and get away with it beast." Alice picked up her scalpel. "And abominations should not be allowed to live!" She took the scalpel, cutting right into the illusionists abdominal cavity. She grinned as she heard the beast start struggling and the illusionist screams as she drew out the cuts, cutting into the uterus.
Alice had perfect cuts as the table was lowered. Alice made sure to stand on the other side. She couldn't risk doing this part without good light as blood ran down the subjects side. Standing over her, Alice had nothing but joy at the pain she was inflicting as she carefully removed the Illusionists uterus, putting it into a metal tray her assistant held. She quickly staunched the bleeding and sewed the illusionist up. Once that was finished, she walked around to stand in front of the beast. She let out a breath. "Do. not. tempt. me." She rolled her shoulders, walking out of the room.
----[lilith]
What was happening? The crazy woman held up a paper, announcing that she was pregnant. Pregnant? She couldn't be..but...She blinked, her eyes finding Drews. She had no idea. She shook her head as Alice's smile drove more terror into her heart. Oh no. What was going to happen. Lilith saw the scalpel, thought she was going to use it on Drew. "No..please..what are you going to..." She couldn't finish the words as she felt burning pain in her stomach. She also couldn't help the scream that tore from her lips as it continued. Before she knew it, she was on her back, pain lighting up all over her body as she felt foreign objects inside her, tearing her apart. What was happening?! Why?! She felt the blood on her, heard Drew struggling. Turning her eyes, she looked at him for a brief second before more pain swallowed her up.
So much pain as darkness clouded her vision and she promptly passed out, imagining nothing but pain in her dreams.

Drew had been subject to a lot of shitty wake-up calls in the past, but his head was pounding long before he was even fully cognizant, and his chest hurt as if he'd been hit by a car. His waking came with a certain amount of wheezing and nausea, complicated by the fact that he was affixed to a wall with a gag pushed back in his teeth. He'd hoped that the woman would forget that he could cast spells with a word, but he supposed that would have been asking too much of the universe. Whatever he'd done in a past life, his karma never seemed to run out of bad things to do to him. All he could do for those first few seconds of wakefulness was breath as deeply as he could through his nose, trying not to vomit. If he threw up with this thing in his mouth, he would suffocate, and he wondered if the good doctor was aware of that, or if she even gave a shit.
His eyes were blurry as he blinked up at the people who were in his cell. The stench of blood was thick enough in the room that he hadn't realized at first that it wasn't just him there, but there were two guards, replacements for the fools he'd put down, as well as the doctor and.... Lilith...
That woke him up in a hurry, and despite the gag in his mouth, he snarled at the doctor. There was only one reason for the operation table being moved in here, and his restraints rattled loudly as he jerked against them, straining every muscle to get at her. His claws erupted from the ends of his fingers, but could reach no one to use them. The wolf was similarly desperate to protect Lilith, and their shared fear and anger on behalf of their mate spurred the further transformation. It didn't occur to either of them how ill-advised that really was until the chain around his neck became uncomfortably tight, and then began to choke him when it didn't give. His growls continued, sounding half-strangled as the wolf took over.
At the scent of her blood, the wolf increased its threats, pushing the human to the back of his head to protect him. It was beyond understanding words, but the human was curled up somewhere in the back of his own mind, besieged on all sides by the fact that there was nothing he could do. He had failed to protect her, failed to protect the woman he loved.
His vision was beginning to go dark at the edges, with his air supply partially obstructed, and although the restraints held, he could feel them shifting and stretching from the violence of his resistance. It wasn't until the doctor strode off in a huff that the wolf began to fade back into the depths of his mind, and the sanity started to return to his eyes. His throat was red, bleeding from a couple of shallow cuts where he had strained against the chains, but he bowed his head as his eyes blurred with tears. How many years had it been since Drew had cried? Over a decade, he was certain. He'd thought he'd forgotten how.

Alice walked to her desk. The illusionist had been brought to a healer and had been made sure she was ok. She wasn't going to be able to be operated on for a long while, but it was okay. Alice had accomplished what she had wanted. She wanted to break the beast, and terminate their abomination. Both had been done. She sat down, throwing her bloody lab coat in a corner. It had been a long day and she needed nothing but to relax. She looked at her assistants. "Set AE2466513 in it's resting position tonight on the floor, be careful, but I'm sure he won't do anything more." Alice swept some strands away from her face. She was energized from what had just happened, but that wouldn't keep her going through the night.
Packing up her bag, she put some files she would review at home in them and left her assistants to whatever they were going to do. There had to be a round the clock watch on the lab, so the night shift had already arrived before Alice left. Stepping into the cool night air, Alice took in a breath. She had been in the lab all day, and it was nice to take a break. She hopped in her car, and once she was home, had a salad for dinner. Stepping onto her balcony, she called up one of her regulars to come over. She had certain people she called for certain things. She was feeling playful so that is who she called. It didn't take long before her door bell rang and Alice was more than ready to play ------
-----[lilith]
It was dark -- so dark. Lilith felt her head pounding. She was on the ground again, a place she was used to being. Blinking she looked around. Her stomach hurt every time she moved. So not moving was the answer. She stared at the wall. It was completely silent, as most nights are. She couldn't remember much from that day...but she remembered one thing. She had been pregnant. It could have been Drew's child....and she was no longer pregnant. She twisted, gasping at the pain that traveled from her stomach into other parts of her body. Ok. "Don't..move...ok." Lilith's voice was rasping from her screaming that day and she swallowed.
Her hair was greasy and stuck to her body in thick cords. Lilith blinked, her heart filling with longing. She missed Drew. His warm arms and his deep voice. She hadn't been able to really talk to him, but hoping he could hear her.....that was what she wanted. "Drew...Drew, sweety." Her words were raspy, barely above whispers and she cleared her throat, trying to talk louder. "Drew...I love you -- it isn't your fault...I..I am ok...." Not entirely the truth but close enough. She felt pain as she talked, her stomach screaming out with each word but she didn't care. She knew Drew was only blaming himself and she wanted him to know she still loved him more than anything in this whole world...dying for him was something she had considered if it would have done any good.
Despite the pain -- Lilith crawled closer to the wall, hoping to hear his deep voice.

Drew worked his jaw around, looking up as he heard Lilith's voice. They had taken the gag when they'd put him in night-time position, but that was the only real concession they'd given him. He ached all over, from the bruises he'd given himself struggling to get free, but he knew his pain was nothing compared to what Lilith was going through. He closed his eyes at her words, struggling to squelch the tidal wave of misery that rose at her words. Was she really trying to comfort him right now? Swallowing past the lump in his dry throat, he answered her back.
"You don't have to lie to me, Lilith," he said, his voice carrying only because it was so deep. "And don't speak. Just rest."
His voice was nothing like when she'd last heard it, as if it was completely devoid of life and inflection. He surely felt like a dead man still breathing. It had been a while since the scientists had allowed them to hear each other speak, and longer since he'd felt like he had anything worth saying. Part of him wanted to spend the full night apologizing, saying how sorry he was that she was in this place, that his actions had resulted in the mutilation that had just been done, but he didn't have the heart to do it. Perhaps he was too much of a coward to face it.
But he had learned his lessons well the first time around. It had just taken him a few too many mistakes to remember them. He looked at the grate that served as his only connection to her cell, trying to think of what to tell her. There was only one way that he could protect her in this place.
"Whatever happens, just do as they say," he finally rasped, his throat still sore. "That's the only way you'll survive this place."
It broke his heart to say, but it was still the truth. He'd given up hope of his own survival as soon as they'd walked in the door, but he would stop at nothing to save her. It was his own fault that Axium had even learned of her existence.
"I love you," he told her, his voice breaking.

Lilith felt tears burn her eyes as she listened to Drew. The defeat in his voice was a sound she had never heard and it broke her heart in a million pieces listening to it. She put a hand on the wall, silent for a long while after Drew had finished talking. She felt her heart break, mend, and break again with his I Love You, and she felt a small piece....become black. She hated what was happening, what had happened. She hated the people who put them there, and all that was associated with this place. She hated that Drew was in pain, that she couldn't do anything to protect him. She hated how weak she was.
Hate. And it made her tears burn stronger as she tried to hold them back. The hate was a small piece of her, but one that would probably live on forever. She sniffed a little, moving onto her back and pulling her knees up till she was comfortable. Comfort was subjective, it was really as comfy as she could get on a cement floor with stitches in your stomach. She let out a hiss, trying to block out her pain as the tears rolled down the side of her face.
"Drew...no matter what happens..." Lilith didn't know what she could do, if anything, to help them get out of this place, but she couldn't accept her death...his death....it was unacceptable...but maybe if they did die together, they would finally be together without all the crap in their lives. "We...will always be together.." This sounded like last words -- but it was the truth in Liliths mind. If they died here, they would be together where ever they were going, and if they escaped....it would be together.

Alice woke up, feeling refreshed. She took a shower, washing the grime off of her from the last night of playing. She glanced at the mess in her bedroom, there was blood all over her bed and she sighed. She was gonna have to replace the sheets today. She had kicked her play toy out early this morning when they were done 'having fun'. She blow dried her hair and did her make up. She was going to finally undergo the tests she needed to do today. She sincerely hoped that it didn't kill the beast.
Putting on her scarlet lipstick she left the apartment, her hair in a black rose clip, looking like perfection. It didn't take long before she had parked at Lamberts house. He was still out and she wondered idly how long he was going to be out as she descended the stairs to the basement lab. It always filled her with joy to see her assistants scrambling when they saw her and she set her purse down, grabbing her fresh lab coat and looking at them. "Report."
"Well...they...he..I mean AE2466513 and the..other one..there is no change in their vitals, both stable. They talked last night...but only for a short time. They..." The assistant flinched as Alice turned quickly. They were not to allow the experiments to interact. "Why was this allowed to happen?"
"Well...the...the...sound..." His words got smaller as Alice turned a glare to him.
"Go. Now. Leave." She turned, hearing him hesitate..that was all it took. Grabbing the scalpel on a table next to her, she turned, stabbing him in the throat. Blood gushed out, covering her and the floor. His scream reverberated throughout the lab as he fell to the ground, the life pouring out of him onto the floor. Alice stepped out of the blood, and turned, staring at the other assistants, they were paused, watching, horrified. "Someone clean up this mess so we can get back to work." Was all she said as she cleaned up the blood that was on her. She heard a delightful scuffling of shoes as they disposed of the body and cleaned up the blood on the floor.
Honestly, good help was so hard to find. Alice looked through the surveillance footage of the night before. The conversation they had shared seemed harmless enough but....Alice felt disgusted at what was exchanged. She turned it off. Animals did not love. It was all chemicals...fools. Alice pulled out the serum she had been working on. It was ready to be tested. It had an experimental technology in it that she should be able to control from her computer, micro organisms that were like itty bitty transmitters that would alter the nervous system to take commands from her computer. She was going to start with a small dosage, and see how far they could go.
The point of this serum was to release the strength inside of their beast, and be able to control it. If it was successful, they would be able to permanently control it, human or otherwise. It would be revolutionary for Axium and the supernaturals they held in captivity. Alice was determined this was going to work.
But first things first, she put down the serum back in the fridge and got the operating table ready. She had to have anesthesia this time because of what she was doing. She was not going to be threatened by this magic that he held with just a spoken word. She would remove the thread by 'de-barking' the beast. And the gag that they would have to put on him would interfere with her ultimate experiment she needed to try.
She had two of her assistants chain the beast up to a chair so he was immobile and could be brought to the operating table. There she had her second hand start the anesthesia on AE2466513 until he was knocked out. Quickly bringing him up to the table, Alice had another assistant secure his airway with a tube and respirator and she put on her mask. Time to begin.
----
Some hours later, Alice leaned back. Done. Its throat was stitched up neatly and she would need to give it a couple weeks to heal before she started on the serum experiments. Didn't need it's stitches opening up. She nodded to her assistants, sitting down in her chair. They picked up the beast and chained it back in its cell in the night position, taking the precautions until he finally started waking up. Only when he was fully awake and his vitals were stable, the assistants left the cell. Alice tapped her fingers. How long would it take him to realize he didn't have a voice anymore...
------[lilith]
She had heard them take Drew out of his cell and had wondered for hours what they were doing to him. Was it awful things like that had done to her? All sort of images had flashed across her mind in the hours before she heard Drew get put back in his cell. Once she was sure the assistants were gone, leaning against the wall they shared she listened. Not hearing anything at first, she decided maybe he was tired...but..."Drew?" Was he ok? What had happened?

It wasn't unusual for the scientists to pull him out of his cell for the usual cursory stuff, taking samples, running tests, establishing baselines. What was unusual, and what frightened him on a deep level, was when they pulled out the sedative. He had learned by now that the mad doctor enjoyed watching their pain, and one of her favorite parts of that was surgery without anesthesia. If she was knocking him out now... experience in the labs told him that sedative meant that she was going to do something to him that would kill him, if he was still awake. With that in mind, he fought the drowsiness for as long as he could, grunting as he strained against the chains, but it didn't take long for him to lose that battle and fade into darkness.
--------------------
When he finally woke again, he was back in his cell again, chained to the wall like usual. Groggy as he was, it took him a minute to take full stock of himself. What new pain would explain what had just been done to him? His wrists and elbows hurt, which had become fairly normal. His head felt like he'd been brained, but that was a common side effect of sedatives, and he knew the feeling well. The usual nausea was also a constant companion, one that accompanied being given so many drugs so many times. He'd known other experiments who'd even gotten hooked on that feeling, which he found oddly disturbing. He breathed deeply through his nose, and out through his mouth.
That was when he figured out where the procedure had been done. His throat hurt like a bitch, even just breathing deeply. It felt dry, and when he tried to swallow, the pain was blinding, enough to make him jerk harshly, rattling the chains that encircled his joints. What had they been trying to do to him? Hearing Lilith's voice, he forced himself to take shallow breaths, ones that didn't hurt quite so much. Once he had gotten the pain under control, he tried to answer her back. The result was even worse pain than the attempt at swallowing, as if his throat was being stabbed with an ice pick.
The worst part of it was that he couldn't even grunt in response to it. He was trapped in his own mind, unable to even cry out at the pain. Maybe that was the point of all of this. The lack of a gag in his mouth seemed to agree with that notion.
And yet... If she thought the danger of his magic was gone... An idea began to form in his mind, but it would take nightfall, and being left alone, to find out if it would work. If he was right, this could very well prove to be the factor that allowed them to escape. He'd been maimed, yes, but he wasn't dead yet. The old fury lit his eyes with amber, reflecting his newfound determination. They thought they could silence him without consequences, did they?
