'Birdy' really was a beautiful phoenix. She wasn't quite what Sera imagined phoenixes looked like. She always pictured them as giant birds either made of fire or had feathers that looked like flames. Anthony's Birdy wasn't a giant winged beast but it was still quite a sight to behold. Hopefully Annie would see her where ever she was. Sera's first phoenix sighting didn't make her forget why she had asked Anthony to summon it in the first place. What she was hoping for was for Annie to spot the fire bird in the sky and try to follow it. Since the bird was her brother's companion just like Tibbers was she wouldn't take too long to figure out what it was and come bounding towards them. Sera knew Annie well enough to know the kid's love for fire, anything related to fire, and her twin brother. Little old Birdy here was the embodiment of all those things. Annie would come. She had to hold onto that belief that she would.
While waiting for something to happen Sera decided to ask Anthony some questions about his pet. She couldn't help herself, she was curious on how the whole phoenix thing worked. Solari were suppose to be able to summon and control these creatures according to some of the research she had done in the past. But Sera couldn't do it as far as she could tell. She never had anyone to teach her how to do it, just trying to tap into her powers or shout out for one didn't work. She wasn't the only one that couldn't do it. Annie didn't have a phoenix. She was given a demon bear though to compensate for her not being able to get one. Seeing Anthony's bird and how he summoned it reminded her a bit of how Annie brought Tibbers out. Sera's gaze fell to the flaming coin in his hand. Maybe phoenixes had to be bound to a physical object in order to manifest themselves for their masters. It wasn't the same as Tibber's summonings since the coin didn't disappear like it did when Annie unleashed her big scary bear friend. Man, Sera would love to take a better look at the coin just to study it a bit but she didn't take the coin from Anthony's hand. She didn't know if she might break the connection between him and his friend and she didn't want to just touch it without permission first. Instead she asked how long he could keep the phoenix out for and how the whole summoning thing worked.
Sera listened intently to what the little boy had to say. “Oh cool, you can link your minds together? Does that mean you can see what she is seeing right now?” Man now she really wished she was cool enough to have a phoenix. Too bad she never had any actual training with her powers, it was probably too late for her to be able to do shit like this. “Don't over exert yourself while in her head though. We will find Annie one way or another so you don't need to push yourself.” Sera knew Annie well enough to know this was probably a necessary warning to give to her brother as well. If Anthony was anything like his sister he was bound to do some reckless things if it meant finding her and that was not something she wanted to deal with after just finding him. She wouldn't have to worry about Anthony for long, for not long after he let his phoenix fly around town he had found Annie. “Oh shit really?” Before Sera knew it she was being pulled along outside of the graveyard.
