“ANNIE!”
Seraphina's cries rang out into the darkness, only to be greeted by silence. Where was Annie? A day had passed since Sera had last seen the younger solaris. While it wasn't unusual for Sera to disappear from her own home for a few days at a time something about this girl's disappearance was different. Annie wasn't like her. While Sera, outside of her life in the orphanage she had always lived alone. Sera was independent and wild. Despite being so young she was capable of taking care of herself. She would always return to her place one way or another. But Annie, she was different. Annie wasn't used to being on her own. The way she clung to her and Akhtar, and all her talks about her twin brother, it was clear that Annie wasn't used to being alone. She would always get so upset if she didn't have anyone to spend time with, sometimes she would act out violently. It was things like that that made Sera worry.
When Annie didn't come to wake her up in the morning like usual Sera knew that something was wrong, so she went to Annie's area of the mansion. Only to find that the little girl was no where to be seen. She had spent hours looking around the whole building before she realized that the little girl was not home. Where was Annie? Was she taking matters into her own hands and looking for her twin brother? Did she have another psychotic episode and wandered off on her own? Was she still safe? Sera spent most of the day and the day after that searching for her. She had barely slept since she started. While there were plenty of servants to help her search for the little girl Sera couldn't leave Annie's fate in her hands. This world was too dangerous for a girl like her to be left out on her own. That and Annie was a danger to herself and others. Akhtar had no idea just how deeply disturbed Annie was. He only saw a sliver of the girl's insanity. Sera couldn't say she was an expert on these kinds of things, but she had seen enough to know that Annie was dangerous.
She needed to find her and fast. After running around looking for Annie in the more populated areas in town Sera decided to look around in the least likely of places. Her search eventually brought her to the local graveyard. It was a strange place for any child to hide in, but that was for any normal child. It wasn't too far out of the realm of possibility that Annie had wandered off to this place. It wasn't much but it was worth a shot. Sera wandered through the graveyard, looking out wearily for any signs of Annie or danger. The graveyard wasn't the most safest places in the city. It wasn't too long ago that she had run in with that pervy hellhound bastard from the PIDA, his witch bitch, and even more recently that crazy necromancer dude. The thought of running into them again didn't really scare her but it was enough to make her cautious in her search. Hopefully if she was going to run into anyone tonight it would be Annie, and only her.

He sighed. It was a tough life, really.
He was groggy and cold and lonely. Where was his sister? He was worried for her. She didn't like to be alone, especially without him. He didn't like it either, in fact it bothered him almost as much. He knew he had to be a bit stronger than that, though. For Annie, of course.
Where was he?
Well, he was in a graveyard it seemed. Anthony looked around in confusion, holding charred flowers in his hands. Ick he thought as he threw them down. Where did they come from? Why were they in his hands? The child shook his head and sighed again. He just wanted to find Annie. She never went off without him! He felt his eyes burn with tears, which he quickly wiped away. He assumed the same thing had happened to Annabelle that had happened to him; she split. They had multiple personalities, and wound up in all sorts of places without remembering it. The white-haired boy didn't really understand this, though. It was all he knew and all his sister knew. How could it possibly be strange or understandable to a young child? It wasn't.
The boy heard a woman's voice, and for a moment thought it could be Annie's. Turning around with a bright smile, he couldn't help the flames that sparked at his hands and warmed him up. "Annie?!" he cried. No, it wasn't Annie. It was Seraphina. He pouted and threw a shaky and small fireball at Sera. It clearly wasn't meant to do any harm, but Anthony didn't realize it could possibly hurt somebody. It didn't hurt him or Annie!
He realized he couldn't remember if he knew Seraphina or not. Was that her name? Who was she? He couldn't remember. His memory was spotty on most things. It wasn't unusual for Anthony to forget really anybody except Annie.
"You're not Annie. I want Annie!" he shouted at Sera, creating a scene. He cried with real tears and paced and stomped around sporadically, pulling at the hair on his head. When was the last time he saw Annie? He didn't know. Where were they? He couldn't remember. Did Annie not want to be with him anymore? Oh no, he couldn't fathom it. Was she safe? Was he safe? He didn't care if he was safe, he cared if Annie was safe and she was only safe when he was with her. And where was he right now? Not with her. Hysterical sobs erupted from the tiny boy as he continued his pacing, hands sparking every now and then. Anthony was quite the handful.

“Annie, where are you?” Sera called out again into the graveyard only to be greeted by silence. Where the hell could that little terror have gone? She wish she could say that this was not a common thing with Annabelle but unfortunately that was not the case. Annie was a sweet girl at times but she had some serious problems. It was clear to anyone that spent enough time with her that the child was deeply disturbed, her lack of understanding between right and wrong, her pyromaniac tendencies, and multiple personalities she was a danger to herself and others. To make matters worse she pulled stunts like this. It wasn't too uncommon for Annie to wander off on her own and not come back. Sometimes one of her split persona's would take over, or she would leave of her own accord. But no matter who left the reason for it was always the same. Anthony.
Sera couldn't blame the little girl for leaving to look for her missing twin. It had been months since her brother had suddenly went missing. Before they even met the little pyromaniac was wandering the streets looking for her brother until Akhtar showed up. He had promised to help her find her missing sibling but he didn't follow through with it. Just like his promise to help get the PIDA off Sera's back, he didn't help Annie. Those broken promises might not be the prince's fault, he had been rushed out overseas to take care of some business and just hadn't shown up yet. How could he do anything for either of them when he wasn't around? At least Sera still had a portion of his mansion to live in so she could accept her current predicament. But Annie couldn't. As time passed the child became more anxious and started looking for her brother on her own.
She had to be out again looking for Anthony but where did she go to search? Sera had gone everywhere she could think of before coming to the graveyard to look for the little girl but just like everywhere else there was no Annie in sight. Seraphina sighed, tonight was going to be a very long night. Just as she was about to turn around and leave to look elsewhere a tiny voice called out in the distance. “Annie?” She turned around to look for the kid just in time to get a fireball to the face. “Wow what the fuck?!” There was no time to dodge the attack when it came. Thankfully the fireball just sizzled out the moment it contacted her skin. “Annie what did I tell you abou-” Sera blinked as she stared back at the figure that attacked her. It wasn't Annie but-
“Anthony?” She could hardly believe her own eyes but there he was. It had to be him, he looked like the splitting image of his sister. Though Seraphina wasn't sure if white hair and red eyes were a common trait amongst all Solari their facial structure was close enough to tell. Well talk about a strange bit of luck, instead of finding Annie she managed to stumble upon the one kid everyone had been looking for for ages. It would have been a good thing if the little guy wasn't flipping his shit. The look of dismay on his face when he realized that Sera wasn't Annie was heartbreaking to see, but dismay was quickly turning to anger. She would have to be careful with this one, just like with Annie. I hope he doesn't have another transforming teddy bear that can maul my face off for him the girl mused as she took a few steps towards the pacing child.
“No I am not Annie, but I am looking for her. Why don't we team up together? Four eyes are better than two right?” Seraphina crouched down to meet the boy at eye level as she spoke as cool and calmly as possible. Her experience with Annie taught her that she had to be cool headed when dealing with troubled kids. “You're Anthony right? My name is Sera. You don't know me but I know you, I heard a lot about you from your sis.”

He couldn't stop crying. He was so sad and anxious now. He didn't know where he had been, or really anything at all. He didn't know how Seraphina knew Annie, and he didn't know how long he had been gone. He was smart enough to correlate Sera's knowledge of Annie with the fact he must have been gone for a long time. How long? Anthony breathed quickly, his hands catching ablaze the more his anxiety ate him. The child's eyes darted back and forth until he registered Seraphina's words.
Focusing on her, he quickly shoved a hand in his pocket to hold onto the coin that summoned his Phoenix."Did you take Annie?!" he huffed and balled his hands into fists. What if she hurt Annie? No... No she said she had four eyes and was looking for Annie. Did Annie run away from her because she was scared? "Why is Annie gone? Did you scare her?"he couldn't seem to understand what was going on. Though he wiped his eyes, they filled and overflowed once again as the young Solaris gave his older sister a pitiful, tearful look."Why do you know me?"
Sniffling and crying, he pulled his hair again with his eyes on Seraphina."What is going on?"Anthony tried to focus on her words. She wanted to help him find Annie. Could he trust that? Well what other options did he have? He didn't know where he even was, so there was no way he could possibly know how to get back to Annie. His line of thinking shot another rush of anxiety through him but he calmed down some. He had to stop and think, and find his sister."You'll help me find Annie?" came Anthony's quiet voice. Maybe she wasn't lying and really was nice.

There was no time to celebrate finding Anthony. If they had met under better circumstances Sera would have been at least a little happy to have found the long lost twin. But with Annie now missing victory was far from reachable. There was the situation with Anthony to deal with too. Sera had spent enough time with Annie to know that the twins were mentally unstable. Annie was a sweet girl most of the time but there were times that she flew off her rocker. She was not only a danger to others but to herself as well. Anthony would not be any different, he might even be worse off since he clearly had been left on his own for much longer. The moment that Anthony saw Sera he started to freak out. He wouldn't stop crying and kept pacing around like a crazy kid. Sera had to be careful with how she handled this one.
With Annie trying to keep calm and talk to her in a soothing voice to help calm her down was always a good start to getting the girl to become more tame, so naturally she tried to do that with Anthony. But he didn't quite understand what she was saying. “No I didn't take Annie but she has been living in the same place I have been up until now.” Sera didn't let the kids tantrum phase her. She wouldn't even be surprised if the kid tried to hit her like her sister had done in the past. At least that she could just block and pin the boy down until he started to chill. Anthony continued to interrogate her about his sister, it looked like he thought that she had done something to the younger girl. Sera shook her head in response. “Nope I haven't scared her. I am the last person that would scare her.” Sera held her hand out and summoned a little ball of flame rise out of the palm of her hand. If Anthony was anything like his sister then there was a chance that showing him her power would help him trust her more. Fire was the only thing that the pyro twins understood. For them it was good, and anyone who could wield it was a good person.
“See? I am just like you guys so your sister trusts me. As for why she's gone my guess is she just went out searching for you again. She was the one who told me about you and how she has been looking for you. I've been trying to help her but that doesn't stop her from trying to search on her own. That wouldn't be so bad if she didn't have a habit of getting lost. Now that its night time its too dangerous for her to be out here by herself don't you think?” God Sera wished she was the kind of person that was good with kids. She was trying her best to reason with Anthony but she wasn't sure what she should do other than talk. She wanted to stop him from yanking all his hair out but touching him would be a bad idea. She didn't have to worry about getting burned alive, and she didn't care if he tried to hit her, but touching him now could make him freak out. At least her words seemed to be reaching him. The girl smiled at him. “Yeah I'll help you find Annie if you are willing to trust me. When we find her we can all go back to my place so you can get some food and a warm bed to sleep in for the night. Deal?” Sera let the small fire in her hand die so she could offer her hand out for the little boy to shake if he was willing.

Anthony, dirty cheeks wiped with streams of tears, looked long and hard at Seraphina. He was numb to everything she was saying, and felt like his mind was not part of his body. He did not feel like he was there, and he simply offered Seraphina an empty gaze. The child heard her words loud and clear, but they didn't cross over nor did they sit well inside of him. Having gone from too much emotion to absolutely no emotion at all, Anthony didn't bother wondering how Annie could be gone without having been scared. It didn't matter anymore, because she was already gone, and now they needed to find her. It just was a matter on if "they" meant himself AND the tall person in front of him in his mind.
Then, Seraphina did the best thing she could do: she lit a fire! Anthony's eyes opened widely, and his elated expression was as warm as the flame that danced before him. Reaching a hand out to swipe back and forth through the gorgeous creation, he nodded quickly, though in actuality he was totally ignoring her. Anthony waited until she was done talking to finally pry his eyes from the flame to look at her. "You can do fire too? I can do it, I can do it!" He smiled brightly and summoned two balls of bright orange fire in his hands. He whipped them back and forth like a child with a sparkler and glow stick, then giggled at himself. Of course, he had the connection in his mind that if Seraphina could really do everything he could do, then she must be just like him and Annie. That would mean she wasn't lying, because she couldn't hurt Annie and Annie would love her! Anthony, with burning palms, stopped his play and looked back to Sera. "I've never met another person like me and Annie. Are you my sister, too?" The question was real; he couldn't remember explicit details of his past, and he knew he'd probably never met her before, but it only made sense that she was also his sister.
Anthony pointed to her matter-of-factly, a bit bouncy in his place. "Your hair is exactly like Annie's, even with a little ribbon! I like to put Annie's ribbon in sometimes. You even have the same eyes as us too! You're just like me!" He smiled again, this time a bright, innocent smile. It was easy to forget he was batshit insane when he smiled so genuinely sweet. They were few and far between, except for when he was with Annie. Everyone else scared him, and he felt nervous all of the time. He never told Annie that he was scared because then she would be scared, so if he ever got too upset he'd just take Annie's hand and remind her she was okay. Reminding her reminded him, so it worked. And if anything went wrong, Tibbers and Phoenix would help them, but they couldn't come all of the time. So it was usually just him and Annie, but he had been gone without realizing it.
Bouncing and smiling a moment longer, Anthony suddenly flinched when Sera extended her hand, and his own balled fists came in front of him defensively. His smile had turned into a hard, expressionless stare in a second flat, and his ruby eyes had never left Sera's. Perhaps it would've been menacing if he were at least her height, or maybe the fact that he was just a child was what made it unsettling, but either way he was frozen. When the teenager didn't make any other move, Anthony's tense shoulders eased a tad and he swallowed. Unsure exactly of what she was reaching her hand for, since he'd never had to shake a hand and didn't exactly know what a deal really was, he placed his hard stare onto it instead. And after a long moment, he took it with a flaming hand. His was much smaller and it confused him for a second; he'd only held Annie's, whose was the exact same size as his, and the only people he'd ever known with big hands were never nice. Annie's even felt the same, but Sera's was bigger and softer somehow-- and he remembered it could make fire, too!
So Anthony smiled and nodded once at Sera, trembling a bit. "Okay, I deal. Have you ever had a 'hotdog' before? I want that for dinner!"

Sera was not cut out for this kind of thing. Try as she might to get the little boy to understand her and calm down it didn't seem to be working. She kept calm and spoke softly but she didn't seem to be getting through to him at all. While Anthony did finally stop crying he just stared at her in silence. It wasn't any better than he had been before. This wasn't going to work but she did have something that would. Fire. It was strange how the one thing that marked her as different, the one thing she was despised for with everyone else, was the one thing she could use to communicate with the twins. It was interesting to see how Annie used fire to connect with things and people. Sera was so used to having to suppress that side of herself that it was surprising to see someone use it in the way that little girl did. Anthony wasn't much different from that child. The moment that he saw her flame the little boy's eyes lit up. He still might not understand the things that she was saying but the fire did help in the end. Sera cracked a smile when Anthony showed off his own fire tricks. Yeah, she was on the right track. “My, my, what a nice big fire you got there. I bet you are going to grow up to be a super powerful fire boy aren't ya?” she teased the little guy.
The next thing he said caught her completely off guard. “W-well uh...” she looked away, she really did not expect to bring up this possibility with the kid so soon after just meeting him. Hell, she was still having a hard time swallowing that possibility down after Akhtar tried to convince her that she had younger siblings. “I might be...We do look a lot alike right? We do have the same powers...” And we don't have any parents...the words never got past her lips. Just thinking about the people that abandoned her made Sera so angry and sad back when she was younger. The idea that her parents were still out there, and might have had other children and left them in even worse places than they had left her...she didn't want to think about. She pulled herself away from her dark thoughts to instead laugh at what Anthony had to say. “You like putting her little ribbon in huh? You sound a little like an old friend of mine. You see the ribbon in my hair? Its one that my friend gave me.” Thinking about her childhood was yet another painful memory. God she really sucked at burying her feelings crap.
Her smile was more forced than before but she tried the best she could. “Yeah you and I are very much alike. Since we are so similar I have to help you out, our first order of business is to find your sister.” When Sera offered her hand out to him she didn't realize her mistake until it was too late. The moment that she reached out to him the boy flinched. Shit she hadn't expected him to be so adverse to physical contact. Annie wasn't this bad, provided that one of her less unstable personalities didn't surface. It was too late for her to take it back now. She needed Anthony to know that she could be trusted, if he didn't take her hand she would not force him to. It felt like an eternity till Anthony finally brought a flaming hand to shake hers. Sera smiled and shook his hand lightly, adding her on flame in with his once again to help reassure him that everything was alright. “Awesome! Lets do this.” With that Sera stood back up, she let the little boy's hand drop so he wouldn't feel too uncomfortable again. “Hotdogs are fucking awesome! You got good taste in food kid.” Hotdogs were at least something she could make without screwing it up. “Hmm...where to go first...I assume since you were here you already looked around this place right?”

Anthony's eyes widened and he gaped at Sera. "You have a friend? Did she do fire, too?" He smiled at the similarity between himself and Sera's friend. Maybe Sera would let him put in her ribbon, too. That was a thought for another day, though, and Anthony graciously took his hand back and hugged it close to his body. He wasn't really afraid of Seraphina's touch, but it did make him uncomfortable. The only nice hands he could recall experiencing were Annie's, and he didn't want to find out if anybody else's were nice or not. Anthony changed his train of thought to dinner again. He was excited to have hotdogs, because he couldn't remember the last time he'd have one. Had he even had one before? Anthony couldn't remember. But it didn't matter because he was going to have one tonight, and he would get to share it with Annie because they were going to find Annie! Seraphina said she would help him, so he trusted her now. That, and she had firepowers. How could he not trust her? Exactly! It made no sense to be scared.
The white-haired boy giggled when she complimented his taste in food, then looked around in contemplation and confusion. He had been here, but he hadn't been searching. One quick scan around the cemetery only confused him more, but his senses told him Annie wasn't here. Anthony shook his head and brought his gaze back to Seraphina. "No... No, I didn't really look. I don't even remember getting here." He gave Sera a very concerned look, thinking himself bad for having not seen Annie. He worked himself up a bit, stressing about the fact he had randomly appeared here and that Annie was nowhere to be found because she'd presumably been looking for him. He felt guilty because she was now missing, again, because of him. And he didn't even know he'd been missing! Anthony rubbed his eyes with dirty hands though he didn't cry. "Will we find her? Where else do we go look?" Typically Anthony would know Annie's every move, but he clearly was in no place to guess. He hadn't been around her for awhile and didn't even know she lived with Seraphina! He was such an awful brother. Annie was going to hate him.

“I had a friend like that yeah.” Sera smiled at the boy, there was a hint of sadness behind that smile. Thinking about Emily always brought this bitter sweet feeling to the solaris' heart. Emily had been her first and only friend in the orphanage she had grown up in. “My friend isn't alive anymore sadly. She wasn't like us so she couldn't control fire like we can because she was a human.” Sera could still remember the look of horror on Emily's little face when she had lost control of her powers and set the orphanage on fire. She could remember the scream the human girl had let out when Sera tried to grab her hand to pull her out of the burning building. There friendship ended that day. Sera had found some adults to help save the girl's life, but she had left soon after that. “She is dead now. She died 10-15 years ago? I don't remember exactly.”
Sera shook her head to clear her mind. Why was she talking about Emily at a time like this? Maybe she was just being a little reminiscent because of the location she was in. This graveyard happened to be the place Emily was buried in. It was the sole reason she ever visited the graveyard from time to time at all. But tonight she didn't come to visit her childhood friend or think about the past. Tonight she was here for Annie. “Enough about friends, we are here to look for Annie right? So lets do that! Were you in here looking for her?” Sera asked, she assumed Anthony was either here seeking shelter or looking for his sister, but judging from the answer he gave, and the confused/guilty look on his face he hadn't. Poor kid.
“Don't sweat it man, if you weren't looking around that means we can look here together.” Sera wouldn't hold his hand again but she would keep an eye on him and go at a reasonable pace so Anthony could keep up with her as she moved further into the graveyard. “Don't worry we will find her for sure. Even if we can't find her tonight she will probably show back up at my place. The one time she left and I couldn't find her on my own, she used Tibbers to find her way back. One way or another you will see your sister again.” She wasn't messing around when she said that, the little girl really did make her way back home riding on Tibbers that one time Sera couldn't find her.
It had been a clever move but as confident as Sera sounded she still worried that something could happen to stop Annie from making her way back home. If one of her other personalties had taken over and didn't want her to come home again it would be hard to track the little girl down. If she was injuried by someone or something she might not be able to find her way back home at all. She wouldn't give up the search on wishful thinking but she couldn't let Anthony worry about what could happen to his sister. “Well, if she is not here there are plenty of other places in the city I haven't looked at yet. There is the park, she has gone there a couple of times so I wouldn't be surprised if she is there again. We will head there next and just expand our search from there if we don't find her. If the sun comes up and we still haven't found her by then we can go back to my place to take a little breather, get something to eat, then continue our search again. You can chill at the mansion a little longer if you'd like since you have been out and about longer than I have. It would be good to have someone waiting for Annie in case she shows up on her own. But that's only if you want to. What do you think?”

The young boy kept his eyes on Seraphina, his expression going sad. He understood that by death she meant her friend couldn't play with her anymore. Anthony couldn't fathom not having Annie to play with, and he gave Sera a great big hug. He was hesitant, but he knew hugs always made Annie feel better. They didn't affect him much when they came from Annie; Anthony was used to her affection. Not that he didn't enjoy it. Anthony couldn't think of anything better than hugs from his sister. He just didn't understand them, because Annie gave them to him at any time. He really only hugged her first when she was sad. Same concept with Sera, right? Arms wrapped tightly around Seraphina, he smiled a toothy grin and retracted. "You can play with me and Annie! We don't have friends because they don't like our fire." Anthony frowned with genuine sadness. He didn't understand why people didn't like fire, or how it could hurt. He knew that it could scare a lot of people, as it had in the past, but he thought if he just showed everybody, they would stop being scared. He sighed and kicked the dirt.
Brushing white hair from his eyes with dirty hands, Anthony cocked his head. What did she mean by human? Of course he knew what a human was, but that meant he was something different. "Wait, I'm not human too? What are we called then? Anthony watched Sera expectantly. He'd seen plenty of humans with different powers -- wasn't he one of them? Why did the fire make him any different? Eventually he just shook his head at her question, and then shrugged. She talked a whole lot. Anthony found it difficult to keep up with everything she was saying, and had to stop himself from fidgeting like he kept seeming to do. It wasn't that she was boring him, Anthony just had a tough time keeping up with things. At least with Annabelle he could guess how she felt and thought, because it was a lot like his own thinking.
Anthony did manage to pick up on the fact that he shouldn't worry about Annie. He did anyway, just in case, but he at least trusted Seraphina enough to believe her. The young boy recalled how often he and Annie had enjoyed just wandering around and meeting people and exploring. Perhaps she wasn't too scared to be by herself anymore? Anthony was shocked. He felt bad for underestimating his sister. He knew she was strong, he had always known, but he was typically the one who led the fiasco. He'd have to tell Annie she was brave when he found her. Oh, he was so excited to find her! He wanted to tell her all about his meeting with Sera, and he wanted to hear all about the things she'd done on her own. He was a little jealous, actually, that Annabelle had had a lot of adventures without him. Anthony wasn't mad, though. It was his fault for disappearing, even if he didn't know he'd done it.
Again, he nodded. "Okay, I can wait for her if I have to... But I think we'll find her. She's close by, I can just feel it!" Of course he said this rather matter-of-factually because it was, well, fact to him. Anthony always felt a little stronger when Annie was around, and he didn't think much of it. Taking a few steps ahead of Sera, he shoved his hand into his pocket and suddenly pulled out a coin. "Only Annie has ever seen this that's alive, but I have this awesome phoenix just like Mr. Tibbers! Except she's a girl, and a lot bigger. Do you want to see her?" Typically the boy was very wary of releasing his phoenix, as it took a lot of energy, but he was fairly certain he wouldn't have to worry about it much today. And if need be, he could just use his own fire powers. If he got to see Annie, he'd want her to summon Tibbers so he could say hi. He loved Tibbers so much!

She had to stop doing this. Thinking about her past was the last thing that Seraphina expected to do tonight. She had only came out here to look for Annie, that was all, but it looked like she was getting more than she had originally intended. Thinking about her past was a bit of a painful experience but some good did come out of this. She found Anthony. Just knowing that he was alive and safe was one load off her mind. It was worth a bit of painful memories right? Sera really did need to change the topic though. It was bad enough having to remember the past, she didn't want to drag the poor kid into her sadness. Anthony had been through enough so she didn't want to add anymore problems onto him. She was about to move the conversation forward when the little white haired boy did something unexpected...he...hugged her.
Seraphina looked down at the boy in surprise. It wasn't like she wasn't used to hugging. Having dealt with Annie for a few months she had gotten accustomed to the little girl hugging her and dragging her around all the time. But Anthony didn't seem to be the touchy feely type. He had looked so wary just from her holding her hand out to him. Yet here he was, making physical contact just to help make her feel better. Sera couldn't help but smile. The teenage solaris didn't think she was much of a kid friendly type of gal, but these two kids were really growing on her. “I haven't played with anyone in a long time, it should be nice.” she chuckled. “Yeah most humans don't like playing around with fire."
Sera wasn't too surprised to hear Anthony ask what he was. She had been in the same position he was at his age. She had been nothing more than a confused, scared, and angry little kid that had no idea what she was. It never clicked into her head growing up that she wasn't a human. Even though she was the only child with white hair and red eyes, even though she barely aged up while all of her peers had grown up and left the orphanage. It took until that incident, the first time she realized that she could control fire for her to start questioning what she really was, and it took longer after that for her to find out what. “Nope kiddo you aren't human. I know its a bit of a shock to hear at first, don't worry about it I had no idea about the truth when I was your age either.”
“But if you think about it it makes sense. In all your travels have you ever met another person besides Annie or me that could play with fire like we can? Have you been around other kids long enough to notice how big they get in comparison to you?” Sera wasn't sure just how much the twins had picked up on given the kind of background they had but she asked him anyway. “We belong to is a special race of beings called Solaris. Its some fancy pantsy word for fire users. As far as I know we are the only kick ass people that have complete control over fire, live forever, and can even control some fire based creatures...at least from what I have read. I haven't tried taming a phoenix, dragon, or fire bears to see if thats true.” It was quite possible that they could since Annie did have possession of a demon fire bear, but it was clearly some creature that was given to the girl. For a moment Sera wondered if Anthony had the same thing Annie did. He didn't seem to be carrying a stuffed toy around so she didn't bother to ask.
“There is still a lot about us that I don't understand but I will tell you what I know...at least whatever you can understand for now. But first we gotta find Annie.” The two were in agreement on that front. Both solari were eager to find the missing girl and planned to do just that. But where would they go? Sera was considering leaving the cementary but Anthony insisted that they should hang around here more because he could sense Annie's presence. “Do you? Well then we should do a through check of the place then. We are bound to find her nearby if you can sense her.” Sera couldn't tell if there were any other supernaturals in the area besides her and the little boy. Her senses were not sharp enough to detect how many supernaturals were around her, and she couldn't use it to pin point their exact location when she did. But there was something there, so she didn't doubt Anthony had a similar sort of radar that might be better tuned to her twin than she did. It seemed like a good idea to go with but as they started move forward Anthony asked her if she wanted to see his phoenix.
“What? You got a phoenix? That's so fucking cool!” Sera looked really excited and who could blame her? She had never seen a phoenix before. Suddenly an idea struck her. “Maybe your phoenix friend can help us out. Annie has seen your friend before right? Do you think if she flies around and makes a lot of noise for a bit that Annie might notice it? If she does she might come to us instead!” It was definitely worth a shot. A phoenix would be something that would be difficult not to spot when close by. There was some dangers exposing the creature like this but she would handle any bad things that might come and harm the kid. “Just make sure she doesn't destroy anything, we might get in trouble if it does.”

Anthony furrowed his brows and stuck out his lower lip in sheer contemplation. A Solaris? He had a fancy name? Anthony nodded as if the name of his species depended on his agreement. It was a cool name, at least. And the more he thought about it, the more sense Seraphina made. He'd been told he acted quite young for how old he looked. Everyone grew around him while he only grew a little bit, and nobody else had white hair and red eyes and fire powers. Everyone else got hurt when things were too hot, while the twins had never felt more at home. He had never put two and two together before, so now Anthony was awed.
"Okay, you tell me what you learn and I'll tell you what I learn. And then we can tell Annie, too." He nodded once, then smiled, showing off the coin. "I do! She doesn't really have a name. I just call her Phoenix, because she's a phoenix. Sometimes I call her Birdy, too, because she's just a pretty bird!" Anthony was excited now. Nobody had ever shown so much interest in his phoenix before, besides Annie of course. Anthony wished he could play with his firy bird more often, but it was difficult for her to travel between worlds the way she did, so Anthony didn't bother her that much. She was very nice, so the young boy didn't want to overstep his boundaries. She would probably understand why he summoned her now, though. She loved Annie!
Taking precautions to avoid getting into trouble like Seraphina said, Anthony stepped away from anything potentially flammable and placed the coin on his thumb. With a tink the item flew into the air and erupted into a giant flaming bird-like creature. It was both wondrous and anti-climactic at the same time. Enamoring in the fact that a giant bird just came from a golden coin, which now fell back down to Anthony's hand as a firy orange coin, but not so exciting in how quickly it happened. Now, the creature simply hovered in the air, awaiting Anthony's orders. It regarded Seraphina with apprehension for a moment before catching that she was also a Solaris, and that she was related to Anthony.
"Go find Annie!" Anthony waved his arm violently, his other hand clenched firmly around the coin. He suddenly remembered Seraphina's orders -- "And don't catch anything on fire!"

Sera watched as Anthony contemplated all the information she was trying to give the little guy. Sera knew well enough than to expect Anthony to immediately understand what their species was. The first time she stumbled onto the truth she was confused by it too, it had taken a lot of research (which was hard to do with how little information she could find), and second guessing before she could finally accept that she was a solaris. All of that happened when she was older than this kid was too. If she didn't understand everything she read how would he possibly understand this way? She would have to sit down with him one day and try to explain everything she knew later. She had done that with Annie already. The younger solaris still had a lot to learn and Sera was more than happy to teach her as much as she knew. She could do the same for Anthony too when the time came. Sera nodded when Anthony agreed to listen to her when the time came.
“Don't worry kid, I will teach you and your sis all that I know.” Sera agreed before she asked him if he could use his phoenix to help them find Annie. The idea came quickly so there wasn't a lot of time for her to think of the consequences of summoning a fire bird with a child that had probably killed many people with said bird. The way she saw it there would be no problem doing this now. Sure, there was a good chance the bird would be spotted by someone other than Annie, but New Orlands had dealt with its fair share of weird shit that it could handle one new creature flying around for a few minutes right? So long as it did the job and it brought Annie their way Sera didn't give a fuck what happened. “Aw she doesn't have a name? You should think of one. She is your friend after all.” Sera said. It would be a lie to say she wasn't a bit excited to see this bird. She had read some old lore about Solari with phoenix companions. Up until now she didn't know if any of this was true until she met Anthony.
“Okay, lets let birdy out so she can help us.” Sera watched as Anthony flipped his special coin. There was a brief spark of flames before a giant flaming bird emerged. The teenage girl watched in wonder as the phoenix regarded the two before flying off to complete its task. “Wow that is so fucking cool!” Sera chuckled as the bird flew off. “I really hope Annie sees her...how long can you keep your feathered friend out?” Anthony's summoning technique looked different than Annie's but that didn't mean the basic mechanics of it were any different. For Annie her flaming teddy bear took up a fair bit of energy to unleash, and a great deal more to maintain. The little girl could only keep Tibbers in his true form for a few minutes before it started taking its toll on her. If Anthony was the same she didn't want him to keep the phoenix out too long all for the sake of his sister. The last thing she wanted was to see him get hurt.

Annie hated this place. It was dark, cold, and scary. The little solaris continued to walk aimlessly through the sewers, tears still streaming down her face. All she wanted to do was find her brother. That was what she had been doing the moment she had found herself down in this place (Though she had no idea how she came into the sewers in the first place). Instead of finding her long lost twin brother Annie met a strange man in this dark place. She had tried to make friends with him, she didn't even set him on fire, just like Akhtar told her to do. But what did she get for that? She got attacked by the strangers friends. Annie had been in a lot of dangerous positions before but tonight's incident was definitely one of the worse.
She had never been up against so many creatures before. She didn't even know what the things were that attacked her, they were so deformed that they looked like they were made from different parts of creatures all mashed up together in some hideous mass, they smelled rotten too, even when she burned them the smoke smelled foul. She was lucky that she had Mr. Tibbers. If it wasn't for her teddy bear she never would have made it out of there alive. But now she was lost. “I hate it here.” Annie cried to the stuff bear cradled in her arms. “I wanna go home, I wanna be with Sera and the prince....I wanna see my brother.” How was she going to get out of here? There seemed to be no end to the tunnels in sight. It was hard to see, the only light she had to guide her was the flame in her hand to help light her way, but even that light didn't help much, it could only illuminate a short distance ahead of her. The rest was just...darkness.
It felt like forever for Annie to find some way out. As she continued walking, keeping to the side of the walls to help her get a sense of direction she found a ladder...or at least what looked like a ladder leading upwards. It was too hard to see where it lead but Annie tried to climb it anyway. She made it all the way to the top only to find some big round metal thing in her way. There were some holes in it just big enough to see the outside world, but she wasn't strong enough to lift it up on her on. “H-hang on Tibbers.” Annie said as she shoved the teddy bear down the front of her dress to free up her hand to send a blast of fire to blow away the metal thing. A great blast of fire erupted from the ground, sending the metal lid flying into the streets.
Finally she was free. Annie pushed her self up out of the sewer and breathed in the cool night air. “We did it Tibbers!” Annie cheered, freeing her dear old friend from her dress to give him a hug. Being out of that dreadful smelly place made her feel a little better...but where was home? She couldn't recognize where she was now. She might've made it out of the dark place but she still had to some how figure out how to get back to the mansion. She might've started crying again if she didn't notice something flying around in the sky. “B-Birdy?” Could it be Anthony's phoenix friend? Annie's heart skipped a beat. She recognized the phoenix right away. Birdy was her twins friend just like Tibbers was hers. If she was flying around then that meant...Anthony was nearby. “ANTHONY!!!!!!” Annie screamed his name and ran towards the bird. She was sure if she followed Birdy she would find her brother again.

Anthony might have been more astute to Seraphina's words had he not been so thoroughly enthralled by his phoenix companion. She was so bright, not to mention she was all of his favorite colors! Reds and oranges and even some purples here and there... She was so kind, too. Anthony would spend all of his time petting her soft feathers if it didn't take such a toll on her to be here all of the time. The young boy simply smiled instead, his red eyes reflecting the phoenix's own red eyes. She released a sharp caw before scouting the distance for Annie. Anthony sighed blissfully. "She's so pretty."
His excitement further emerged at the compliment from Seraphina. It was so nice to hear somebody else loved his phoenix besides himself and Annie. He watched her fly about and scout as she was told, the bird projecting what she heard and saw into Anthony's mind when he began probing her. He appeared outwardly as someone who was lost in deep thought, but in reality he was mentally multitasking. "Oh, I can keep her out much longer than she can be here," the young boy started. While still looking forward into the sight that was Birdy's mind, he held his hand with the coin open so Seraphina could look. This was a deep act of trust, whether Sera knew it or not. Anthony was quite protective over the coin, and Birdy.
"Do you see how it's on fire now? The fire slowly goes away, and when it's gone, Birdy goes back home. The only part that is hard for me is keeping my mind in her mind. It gives me headaches and makes me tired." He didn't do it that often for that reason, but this was a special occasion. The bird began flying over the town, making herself invisible to those that did not have a connection with fire. All they would see is a thin cloud of smoke, nothing too unordinary. Breaking the silence, Birdy heard Annie call for him, and consequentially so did Anthony. He became giddy, running in place and bouncing. "Seraphina, I found her! I know where she is!"
His eyes were a deep purple, the color his and Birdy's eyes turned when they were connected. Still looking forward into Birdy's mind, Anthony took Seraphina's hand and made a dash. He watched as Birdy cawed happily, nuzzling Annie and tugging her toward Anthony, and more importantly off of the road. Birdy let go of Annie after a moment and flew back toward where Anthony was, just outside of the graveyard. She was so excited to have the twins back together, for Anthony hadn't called on her once the entire time they had been apart. She missed spending time with the two, and it seemed that Anthony missed them both as well!
"Annie?!" Anthony anxiously called, disconnecting his mind from Birdy's. He groaned and rubbed his head, immense exhaust and headaches setting in, but he maintained his excitement when he could finally open his light-sensitive eyes into a squint.
