The flight had been a long one. If only she could have more time in Norway, but there were other things to tend to. Such as coming home and allowing the others to know that she was well. Mostly Stevie and Loki. She had left around the time Vince had vanished. It was typical of her to leave without a word, or trace. However, she made a point to send Stevie postcards once in a while with no return address on them to keep her privacy to herself. This allowed her to update the zombie on what she had been doing. Whether or not he showed them to Loki was beyond her. She missed her friends. She missed Stevie. She missed her cat and her home. She missed Loki. A best friend that managed to place her at an arm’s length. Who could blame him? They both didn’t exactly have happy backgrounds. Lord knows Loki did not. He had kept Blake in one position, and that she could understand. He was afraid of losing people as he had once done. She was just as afraid of losing people, as when they got close and comfortable, suddenly her partners would vanish, leaving her alone to wonder what she had done to push them away. Certainly she knew it wasn’t her, but how could she not when there was so little warning?
As she pondered on these types of things, she made her way to the forest. Her carry-on backpack still on her shoulders. Her boots crunched the foliage against the ground and managed to make her smile. Norway was beautiful, but it was not home. So many memories had been made in these woods. Hell, one of her first kisses resided here. The memories flooded her mind as she looked to the woods on all sides of her. A soft smile crept across her face as her feet lightly crunched the foliage under her. Softly listening to the nature around her as she could almost feel a tear tug at her eyes in order to touch her with wonderful and yet sad memories. A hanging leaf off a nearby hanging branch gently stroked her cheek as she brushed by, headed deeper into the wood as she had done once before. The smell of the pine, the rushing sounds of the leaves around her. How it also made her wish she was back in Norway. The smell was enough to send her into a flurry of happiness. As Norway was enough to relax her. Not to mention… she met her mother. Her biological mother. That was why she left so sudden.
Helga had found Blake and summoned her to the beautiful country to see her child. Though her sister could not be there, which broke Helga’s heart but at the same time, she learned to be content with the sight of Blake. Blake resembled her mother so much. Down to the intensity of the eyes and the smile. The way she tilted her head to the side when she was feeling shy to the way she stood prim and proper. Blake was the spitting image of her mother. Down to the use of magic and healing. It was something she remembered watching Helga do, but she had always thought it was her aunts that she had seen. The woman with no face, now had a face. This made her heart feel a little more fulfilled. She missed her mother and knew she couldn’t possibly be gone. She had heard of the spirit realm visiting the living via dreams, but hers were very different. It wasn’t like she was getting a warning. She was dreaming about her mother not being there. That meant something to a witch, such as her. It meant that there was a fear of losing that person. And she was. She hated the day her mother ‘died’. She hated the woman her father married. She hated everything. However, she was now on an easier path, knowing she was no longer alone. She had to cut her family out, due to the fact that they would age and she would not. Helga on the other hand, noticed a change in her child. She noticed that she was with child at some point and saw the pain that lingered due to Blake losing her child. She saw the pain from the hardships she could no longer be there for. As Blake cried in the arms of her mother; the woman ran her slender fingers through the young girl’s hair and allowed her to weep. Letting her finally get everything out as she felt she couldn’t. Unfortunately, Helga could not change Blake’s little curse to keep her alive. Blake will suffer with immortality until the end of time, or by broken heart or grave wound that she could not be saved from. It was something Blake accepted a long time ago. She accepted it the day she found out and knew her life now would stay in constant pause; forcing her to live ageless in a world that will forever change.
A sound tore her back to the world of the now. Her eyes scanned the area as she heard another sound. Like something was running through the leaves. Maybe something was being chased? Maybe it was just a breeze that she had ignored? She could not tell, that was when she heard a third sound, followed by a scream. She recognized that sound. It was a rabbit. The slender witch trotted lightly through the leaves, dodging around rocks and low branches. Making her way to the sound. Perhaps it was a creature catching its supper? That was something she would have to leave alone if it was, what it was. Blake had issues with hurting living things and would refuse to use her magic in self-defense. Though she knew spells that could prevent something from getting hurt, she would still have to recognize the fact that her sympathetic nervous system would be taking over and she would be in fight-or-flight at that point. Even for a witch, sometimes thinking logically can be quite hard. This would be something that she would have to approach carefully.
Upon coming up to the sight of the creature before her, with its prey, she realized that it was not exactly a creature after all. She watched as the cat shifted into a familiar looking blond male with golden eyes. His kill was dead and he was now skinning it. Tears filled her eyes with happiness as she stood from the shrubbery and ran to him, ”Loki! Loki!” she called out, trotting to him as fast as she could make it.

It was good to be back in the forest. How long had it been since Loki had last been here? Two weeks? Three? A month? Sometimes it was hard to judge how much time passed by when you were busy. Boy was Loki ever busy. A lot had been going on in the shapeshifter's life as of late. His freelancing career had shifted from his usual delivery work to gathering information. Though delivering was easy and did make a good profit the little male began to realize that information could be much more valuable than all the hours he spent doing what he was doing before. It was harder than he expected, the boy's natural curiosity did help him learn things a lot faster than the average man but he could only get so far on his own. So to expand on his business he had to enlist some help. He spent a lot of time trying to find others that he could work with to help make his own little information network. Over time he was able to find some people willing to work with him. Most of those people were much like himself, most were shapeshifters, close to his age, that despite being rather smart were struggling to survive because they couldn't find work. The business had grown quickly after that, and was growing still. Things were going great but it was starting to get a little hard to manage everything on top of the side jobs that he still did to get by.
The more time passed the less time he had for other things. A part of him liked being so busy, it was useful to have something to focus on that weren't his inner turmoil. It helped having something to do whenever he started thinking about his past, or had nightmares about mistakes he had made before, or things going on in the present that he didn't have any control over. But sometimes he missed having time to himself. He missed being able to take naps on the couch, watching anime, or chilling with the few friends he did have. He had been so wrapped up in other things he was neglecting Stevie. He really did feel bad about leaving the zombie man by himself for long periods of time now that the man was home alone. He tried to at least call him once every day to see how he was doing when he could. Try as he might he couldn't help the zombie feel any easier. He missed Blake too much. They both did. Where was Blake anyway? Loki often wondered where the human girl had ran off to when he had to think of something else besides work. The little shifter had no idea where the witch had gone off to or why. She had left without a word. She at least sent Stevie mail from time to time just so that they would know that she was still alive.
Loki sighed and took on his animal form as he walked deeper into the forest. He really did not want to worry too much about what had happened with Blake. Whatever happened made her want some time to herself so he would respect her decision and not go looking for her no matter how worried he felt. Right now he just wanted to take what little free time he had doing something besides worry about other people. His desire for movement brought him out to the forest but he wasn't all that sure what he wanted to do in it. Maybe he could go train? It had been far too long since he had the chance to train, he was bound to get a little rusty if he didn't do a little practice. But the boy's animal side was longing to do something else. It longed to hunt, not as a human, but as a cat. That was the desire that he caved into. The spotted feline prowled around the forest till he found something of interest. Rabbits.
It had been awhile since Loki had hunted rabbits. He had used the little critters in the past to help him with knife throwing. Though they were bigger than his standard prey, they were still small enough to present some challenge when trying to throw his blades at a living target. They were fast too, they had been good to hunt when he needed that practice. But he had never hunted one as a cat before. Could he do it? He wondered as he snuck closer to one of the rabbits still grazing out in the open. He might be fast enough to catch one but he had never handled something that big before in this form. It was still worth a shot though. Loki inched forward, getting closer and closer before getting himself into the perfect pouncing position. Those golden eyes locked onto his prey, the smallest looking one out of the bunch. If he had a chance at over powering any of the rabbits here it was that one. He waited for it to get a little closer before leaping at it. The rabbit could barely let out a shriek before Loki pounced onto him and sank his fangs into its throat.
His prey struggled as hard as it could, it was stronger than what he was used to dealing with, but he was stronger. He kept his jaws locked onto the animal's throat until he felt its body go limp. He did it. He killed a rabbit in his cat form! He was so happy it wouldn't be a surprise if the whole forest could hear him purring. He couldn't wait to show off his kill to someone. Would Azazel be back tonight? He hoped so. Loki shifted back into his human form and picked up the rabbit, wondering if he should skin it before he took it home or wait till after when he heard a familiar voice call out his name. The boy looked up at the speaker, for a second he thought he might be dreaming. “Blake?” He dropped his prey as he rushed over to pull the witch into a big hug. “Oh my god Blake it really is you!” the boy beamed down at his friend. “I thought I was dreaming for a second when I saw you coming. Where have you been?”

She was soon pulled into a tight hug and found herself snuggling herself against his chest. She truly missed Loki and did not expect to see him until that evening as Stevie would have called Loki to inform him that she was home. The shifter would then have made his appearance, right? But it didn’t matter, as he was here with her now. It was luck that made her find him. She only wished she could be a better friend. She always did this once in a while and found her way to making herself almost completely disappear. She was very good at that, as Loki’s commentary almost cut like a knife as a deep reminder that she was not exactly a good friend, but was great at disappearing off the face of the Earth. She clutched him a little tighter at his comment that he thought he might have been dreaming. A reassurance that she was really there. She bit into her bottom lip and eventually parted her lips to speak but a whisper, ”I’m really here…” Here was where she truly wanted to be. The tears were now being held back. She didn’t want him to see her cry. She didn’t want him to see her weak again. She didn’t want him to see this side of her ever again, but there would be times that this would be inevitable
After several moments into the hug, she reluctantly parted from him and found herself smiling but faintly as she wiped away stray tears, ”I guess I can tell you… I went to Norway…” her voice was soft as it had been once before. In fact she figured she could share the next piece of information with him as to why she left, ”Uhm… My mother found me… my biological mother…” She smiled faintly and looked down at the ground. The mention of Helga only made her heart ache as she missed the presence of her mother now more than anything. But she had things she needed to tend to at home. Therefore, Blake was to travel home by herself, otherwise the older woman informed her child that she would have been happy to join her and meet her friends. Experience her life that she had grown so accustomed to. If her mother only knew! This wasn’t a life she got accustomed to. It was something she was more thrown into since day one! Life wasn’t exactly kind to her. At least in the beginning. But we all know her life. We do not need to get into this, yet again.
Her eyes found Loki’s before too long. Her head tipping to the side as she found herself speaking again, ”I did write… Did Stevie only inform you, or did he read what I wrote?” She had hoped that Stevie wouldn’t have gotten greedy with her postcards. She knew he could be clingy. She knew why he was. He was young and grew an attachment to everyone. He was not used to being alone. He truly was like a child in those instances. She only wished that he could function without someone being around. She would not kick Stevie out. She loved his company. If anything, she would only want him to function better alone, that way he could have a life beyond her and Loki and Vince. Vince… Another one who vanished. The happiness that once rested in her eyes began to vanish as she looked at Loki, ”I dunno if Stevie told you… but… Vincent vanished….” given her track record with men leaving, Blake lowered her eyes and found herself looking away from Loki and even stepped back a little further away. She was letting him know what had been bothering her. What seemed to be hurting her. Nothing seemed to make things feel better, now adays. Her eyes then feel upon the rabbit carcass on the ground. She blinked a little and began to tuck her issues away.
”You caught that?”

Loki could hardly believe what he was seeing right now. It wasn't like he didn't believe that he would ever see Blake again. The shifter knew that one day he would see her again. He just didn't think that he would be seeing her right now, in the middle of the forest at night of all places. This scenario was so out of the blue that he almost thought he was dreaming. But it felt very real for him, then again what dreams didn't feel real to him at the time. Most of his dreams felt realistic, his nightmares unfortunately were the most vivid. If this was a dream at least this was a pleasant one for once. He was so damn happy to see her he couldn't stop himself from purring up a storm. She would definitely feel it when he wrapped his arms around her, and it was audible enough to hear even when he pulled away. “Are those tears of joy I see in your eyes?” he purred as he helped to gently brush her tears away. “Did you miss looking at this pretty face that badly?” he teased, hoping that he could get a little chuckle out of her to help lighten up this emotional reunion.
He was glad to see her but he was also curious as to where she had went. In all the time that she had been away that part had never been explained. Blake had told no one that she was leaving, where she was going, and how long she planned to go for. He had tried asking Stevie after he found out she left but even he didn't know. He couldn't help but ask her this now that she was actually here with him. Blake took a moment to gather herself before giving him an answer. Norway. “Norway....thats one of those european countries right?” Loki wasn't as ignorant of things in this world as he had been in the past but there were somethings that he still didn't know. He still hadn't fully learned about all the different countries that were in this world but he was learning. If his guess was right then the country she went to was far away. That would explain part of why she couldn't keep in touch all that often. The next part of her answer came as a total surprise to him. “Your...mother?” There was no hiding the shock on Loki's face. “I thought she was dead...” That was what he remembered Blake telling him in the past. He didn't think that she was lying to him at the time so this had to be news to her too.
“How did that turn out?” he asked. He didn't know how he should react to hearing this. He knew how much Blake had longed to have her mother in her life, but the woman she needed in her life had been out of it and intentionally so if she had faked her own death. Was it even worth it to see someone like that? Loki thought back on his own mother. When he was much younger he had loved her, she was the only one in his family that really seemed to care about him at all. But as he grew older she started to be less caring. It wasn't until later in his life that he found out she only felt obligated to care for him because he was his father last living child. Once he was capable of fending for himself her duty was done. He hoped that wasn't the case with Blake. She deserved more than just another disappointment in her life. For now he would try to hold back any judgments of Blake's mother until he heard more about it.
The conversation eventually drifted to Stevie. The shifter tried to smile again when Blake asked him if Stevie had tried to hog what little info he had to himself. “Don't worry I know that you written to him every once in awhile. Stevie kept me informed when he could, he read some of the stuff you sent whenever I came over. Which wasn't nearly as often as it should have been I have to admit. I have been really busy as of late, I got a little too ambitious and ended up burying myself in a lot of work while you were gone. I tried my best to babysit our mutual zombie friend but there was only so much I could do to make sure he was alright.” The boy sighed when Vincent was brought up. “He didn't need to tell me for me to figure it out. I thought it was really odd at first when Stevie called me saying that you were gone and he was left all alone. Whenever I came to visit I didn't see any trace of him...I had a feeling he was the reason you suddenly left.” Loki knew that this would be a bad topic to bring up but there was no way to beat around the bush about it. Loki didn't know Vincent all that well but he knew that he and Blake were dating. His absence, followed by Blake's raised enough alarm bells to clue him into what had happened with Blake. Vince wasn't the first guy to leave her behind. Could he blame her for vanishing after yet another guy left?
Talking about Vincent would no doubt bring back some unpleasant memories for her. It was a good thing that Blake changed the conversation to his kill. “Oh that?” Loki looked back at his recent kill, he had been so excited by Blake's presence he almost forgot about his little prize. “Yup I did!” Loki shifted forms again as he went over to his kill. “Its not my first time killing rabbits. I normally use them as target practice in my human form, but today I thought I would give hunting them as a cat a try. I thought it would be harder since they are bigger than rats but I took one down easy.” the cat grabbed the dead rabbit by its throat and laid it out proudly before the witch, purring as he looked up at the woman like a little kitten showing off his first kill. “What do you think? Its a good catch isn't it?”

She smiled at his teasing her whilst helping her wipe her eyes. Her cheek leaned into his fingers, but briefly before she gave a slight chuckle. It was something she couldn’t respond to right away. She had missed his purring and maybe she did miss his face. She chuckled softly and tried to gather herself a bit before she bit into her bottom lip, ”I did miss that pretty face.” Her teasing was only half humorous. Loki was still someone she had a fondness for; however she refused to allow herself to fall as she had before. He pushed her away at some point and made it very clear she and him could never be. Though, it was hard to not be fond of him. He was such a sweet heart and cared so much about her and her wellbeing that he had made a permanent place in her life and an even more solid place in her heart. Something she could never get rid of or replace, nor did she want to. The male shifter and Blake then began to bring the conversation to her mother. It was something that she was not uncomfortable talking about, as she and her mother were on a great note. She saw the surprise on his face and smiled as he hesitantly brought up wanting to know the details of the meeting.
“”It went great. In fact, she made me the coat I am wearing.” she grinned and bit down into her bottom lip as she slowly twirled to show him the coat in its entirety. After a moment, she looked up at him and then thought, ”My dad told me and my sister she died. She vanished without a word… Guess I come by it honestly.” She sheepishly smiled for a second before continuing, ”she did what she did, because I guess she was unhappy. She regrets how she handled it, but I guess my father wasn’t listening to her when she would try to talk. I guess it was over for the both of them…” Her face saddened as she thought about that talk with Helga. The woman wished things would have worked, as she mostly wanted it to work for the sake of her two children. But alas, that was not what happened and the way she saw it was fate. That the Gods would lead one or both of her children back to her. That was what happened. She reached out to both children with a letter. Blake was the only one who responded. Helga did not like her husband’s new love. She didn’t like her, because she had met her as they were coming to their untimely end. She knew her husband was sleeping with her. It stung, but he wanted to do what he wanted to do and talking was not going to change things. When they tried to talk, they would fight. Who could blame Helga at that point? Why should she stick around when they weren’t happy? They weren’t married. They just lived and functioned as if they were. But that wasn’t what was important at this point in time. To seal the deal for Loki, Blake pulled her phone from her pocket and showed him some photos of herself and her mother together. That way, he could truly see where her looks came from. And they came directly from her mother. Her little sister on the other hand, was a healthy combination of both parents. Blake had a family tradition that was strange when it came to genetics that resided on her mother’s side of the family. The first born daughter always looked near identical to the mother with little resemblance to the father. The second child always came out to be a healthy combination of both parents, or would look more like the father.
Her attention was drawn back to Loki’s face as she heard that Stevie made sure that he shared her letters with Loki. That warmed her heart a little as she nodded and responded thusly to Loki’s words about having known what she had said. But she felt bad for him when he kind of gave himself a hard time for not being around more for Stevie. She wrinkled her nose due to the chilled kiss of the evening air before responding, ”I am sure Stevie was fine. He still works, so it was not like he was completely alone… Try not to feel bad…” She chuckled and looked down at the ground as she watched him prance towards the kill and began to excitedly show her and talk about it. She would not cover the Vincent topic. She nodded to his statement about her leaving because of that, wanting to avoid talking further about him. Even she did not know what was entirely going on there. Where could she go with that other than feeling sad that she would be going to bed alone tonight and would wake up without the familiar arms of the man she had grown so used to. She couldn’t ask Stevie to stay with her, and Loki… That might be awkward. Why? Because Loki still owned a piece of her heart, whether he knew it or not. She prayed he didn’t, as she did not want to push him further away from her. Or make him feel worse for having to tell her no, because of these reasons they couldn’t work out. She would respect him as she had from the night he had his concussion till they would stop being friends, which she hoped would not happen. Despite her feelings she hoped she would never lose his friendship. Rather than allowing her mind to take her down that path only to make her sad, she smirked at his excitement and the purring only added to the effect. The male was reminding her of her cat when she would bring rodents and such home as a ‘gift’. It made her chuckle and approach him, still smiling brightly at him.
”It truly is a good kill and you are getting better! I am super excited for you!” she chimed and looked down at him, ”Are you going to take the skin and use the meat?” she asked curiously, before she crouched down to look at the dead rabbit, curious as to what he may do. She knew he did not kill for sport. He had his reasons besides pure instinct, which she also respected as he could not help that.

A playful smirk emerged on his handsome features at the witch's complement. “And missed your beautiful face as well~” the feline purred back. Maybe Loki should have thought about his words more carefully first before he said them. In the brief time that they had known each other the two had a little bit of a complicated history between them. It was no secret what Blake's feelings were for the shifter. Anyone that knew them both for half a second could see it. It had been awhile since the human woman kissed him and he rejected her, but it hadn't been long enough for either of them to forget. So why did he still do it? Chalk it up to bad habits. Loki was so used to flirting with girls that there were times that he didn't even realize he was doing it. With no one there to help the boy notice what he was doing, like his old friend in the past there was no one to stop him from being the mindlessly playful flirt he was. Poor Blake. Hopefully his antics wouldn't open up old wounds for her. He hated seeing her in pain, he would feel even worse if he was responsible for it too.
It was a good thing that the boy moved the conversation before he could get too bad with the human girl by asking her where she had gone off to. Hearing that Blake had gone to see her mother came as quite a surprise for him. It was shocking enough to know that the woman was alive, but once he started to contemplate the idea that the woman had been alive this whole time and left her children to think that she was dead a bad feeling came over him. Loki hated bad parents. Being a child raised by two terrible ones himself the thought that a mother would abandon her kids angered him. The same couldn't be said about Blake though. If there was one good thing that came out of this at all it was that Blake seemed a bit happy about meeting her mother. She mustered up a smile as she showed off her new outfit. She tried her best to explain what had happened to cause her mother to abandon her like that. It was hard to tell what the boy was thinking as he let Blake explain what happened to him. He could understand the feeling of being trapped in a relationship and wanting to get out of it. He had seen what a loveless marriage was like with his own eyes growing up. He often wondered what his parents thought of when they were together. Did they resent each other? Or did they remained as indifferent to one another as they appeared to on the surface? Being stuck in a bad marriage could ruin ones life, but was it right to leave your own children just to get out of it? Even if it was a mistake it was a pretty big mistake that wasn't easy to just forgive.
“She really made that? She must be a very skilled craftswoman, I could hardly tell.” The boy smiled at her as he spoke. So many thoughts were running through his head but Loki kept silent on them. Who was he to judge someone he barely met? He was not much better than Blake's mother was with his own life. Before he ended up in this world he had ran away from home because he couldn't take living under his father's rule. All the emotional and physical abuse had been too much for him to take and instead of staying to fight it anymore he left. He didn't have any children that he left behind, but by doing what he did he gave up all his responsibilities and the future he was destined for. He wouldn't say anything about his feelings to Blake. She was just too happy about finally meeting her mother that he just didn't have the heart to hurt her feelings with his dark thoughts. Loki was in for more of a surprise when Blake showed him pictures of her mother. “Is that really her?” he asked. Blake had told him before that she looked just like her mother, but he didn't think that the resemblance was so...identical. It was even closer than the resemblance he shared with his own mother. Though that was understandable, there was only so much of his mother's features that he could take since they were both different genders. Had they both been boys they would have looked like siblings, but with Blake and her mother they could look like identical twins if they had been the same age.
Thinking about his own mother sent a painful twinge in his heart. Loki hated thinking about his family in general. He spent most of his time in this world acting like they didn't exist. They were no longer a part of his life so he didn't want to think about them. It was easy enough with his father. He hated his father so much that it was easy to deny his existence. But things were more complicated with his mother. God he was grateful when the conversation moved away from the parents topic. He couldn't bare another moment thinking about it. The pair took a moment to talk about Stevie instead. Now that Blake was here Stevie was sure to be in a better place, knowing that made Loki feel a little better about the zombie man. The boy shrugged when Blake told him to not feel too bad about not being there for him as often as he could. “You know me, if there is one thing I am good at its feeling guilty about every little thing I do or don't do.” It was a major problem of his that he had little control over. Growing up he saw for himself the damage his choices could make, every little thing he did that his father didn't like he wasn't the only one punished for. Anyone that helped him, or were of a lesser breed he got too close to suffered because of him. When Amalia died those feelings of guilt didn't get any better. He felt bad for Stevie for not being there despite having no control over that. Just like Blake felt terrible after Vincent left.
Ah yes...Vincent. Loki did not miss Blake's reaction to hearing the man's name. Judging on how she dropped the topic about the other zombie was all that he needed to confirm his suspicions. Blake didn't just leave out of the blue with no word just because he long lost mother wanted to see her. She left because Vincent had abandoned her. Like with the mother topic Loki kept quiet about Vincent too. He was mad that yet another guy had abandoned the girl but there was nothing that he could do about it. The last thing he wanted to do was try to help comfort her and get too close. If he got in too deep either Blake would push him away or he would end up having to leave as well. They did not need to both repeat the same mistakes of the past so he wouldn't push it. Instead he would turn his attention to his kill. Loki was genuinely happy about his accomplishments tonight, he couldn't help boasting about his kill. It wasn't just so then he could gloat like the proud little kitten that he was, he wanted to make the girl smile and forget her own troubles if only for a moment by his actions. It seemed to be working at least. The little feline was greeted with a warm smile from the witch, his golden eyes glowed with pride at her praise. “Well, I am a very accomplished hunter. Who knows? Maybe one day I will take down a deer. I have considered upgrading to them for target practice...I just don't know how to go about bringing the kill home with me yet...” The boy nodded in response to her question. “Yup, rabbits make a nice stew so I always bring my kills home. Azazel loves my cooking so he doesn't mind it at all. The skins don't have much of a use so I keep them as a little prize in my closet to look at once in awhile. I can save you a bit of the leftovers of this bad boy so you can try it out yourself.”

The blonde had hardly noticed his flirting. It was mostly because she longed to have someone she knew so close to her. She only wanted to block all sorts of ‘advances’ from herself, be they harmless or intentional. Every single time she got close to someone, they leave. Which only drove her insane in her own mind. Should Loki one day creep onto that list, lord only knows how Blake would be able to handle it. Merely because it would be another man vanishing from her life. She merely smiled at his ‘beautiful’ comment and was able to block the warm feeling entering her cheeks to hide a blush. This was what it was like to not feel? Maybe this is what she should have just done in the first place. That way she would have never had a romantic connection with anyone. It certainly would have made things a little easier on her in the long run. It was in the time that she was showing him pictures of her mother that she only felt something when she looked at her mother. That was that she missed her, dearly. Loki’s reaction to the picture made her smile a bit before she parted her lips.
”Yep. That is my mother..”
She chuckled a moment before biting into her bottom lip. She also enjoyed the fact that Loki liked her coat. It was true. Helga knew her way around a sewing machine. Among other things. It was in these silent moments that she could not wait for Helga to visit, maybe even stay. Blake had a lot going on here and was not willing to pick up her life and start over in another country. Her mother, uncle, and cousin; however, were so willing to pick up and move, if they saw it as the right time. Otherwise, they would visit. Which was still just as good. It was something she greatly looked forward to, none the less. As she flipped through pictures, she saw pictures of her little cousin, Leif and then a picture of her uncle sitting with his guitar and Blake at a microphone, singing beside him, ”This is also my Uncle Erik and my little cousin, Leif.” She giggled a bit and did her best to ignore the sour feelings once she could feel the tension Vincent had left behind. It was not like Loki could entirely hide his emotions from her. One thing about Blake that was annoying was she was an empath. But it was not a sour feeling, entirely. She expected it, which softened the blow a little. Nobody ever stays. So long as she does not date them in any shape or form. She needed to keep her mind off of Vince. That was when she bit into her bottom lip, admiring the kill a little more, only smiling more when the male had offered to save her some left overs. This caused her pale face to light up even more.
”That would be great! I have not had rabbit since Norway and honestly miss it! I would greatly appreciate it!”
She tipped her head to the side with a deep smile before she bit into her bottom lip, ”If you catch that deer, I would love to cook some for you. I learned a few things while in Scandinavia and would love to try how my mother makes meatloaf with you.” Loki was a lover of food. Why not share something he might love, with him. If anything, she might make her grandmother’s Sheppard’s pie for him. He had never tried it before and she knew he might like it. Before long, she looked up at him, ”Any plans on what you are going to do with the fur?”

Whether Loki hated her or not he did find it interesting to see pictures of Blake's mother. The resemblance was much closer than he had thought when he had heard about her before. Blake wasn't kidding when she said that the first borns looked like splitting images of their mothers in her family. Blake's mother wasn't the only relative the little witch came in contact with during her trip in norway. Along with pictures of her mother, Blake showed him some pictures of her uncle and cousin. “Damn, your uncle looks like the manliest man alive...that or he could pass off as part grizzly bear.” the boy teased. “What was it like having a cousin and an uncle?” He was genuinely curious about that. Like most of Loki's family all of his uncles were dead. There had been dark rumors that his father had murdered his older brother, and later when his other siblings had attacked him he had them all executed. Whether the rumors about his father were true or not the fact remained that he never had an extended family. At least Blake did and he was genuinely happy for her. For a girl that felt so alone knowing that she had someone to reach out to was a good thing.
When the conversation turned to Loki's latest catch the boy was more than happy to gloat about his kill. He even changed forms so her could carry the kill and lay his prize down at Blake's feet like the proud kitten he was. He was happy to show it off. Rabbits weren't rare to find and hunt but the first kill, or first unique kill of anything was something to show off. He remembered the first time he killed a rabbit in his knife training, it took three blows before it finally went down. That night he rushed home just to show it off to Azazel, he didn't even care about the weird look the angel gave him at first for that. He did the same thing when he killed a rabbit with one throw too. Killing it face to face this time around was worth bragging about a little bit. When Blake asked him what he planned to do with his kill he told her what he normally did with the rabbits he killed. Special kill or not it was still a body that he needed to make use of. There was no point in just keeping the carcass as a souvenir. Rabbits made a good stew anyway. Blake seemed to agree with him.
“Now I know what my welcome home gift will be tomorrow.” The feline purred. “Too bad Stevie can't try it with you. But hey, that's just more stew for you.” The shifter's boasts about taking down a deer next made the girl smile, he purred along with her. He absolutely loved the idea of cooking with her. “It's a date then.” he winked as he spoke. “I've never tried meatloaf before, and its not like I ever cooked a deer before. I guess they would make for some interesting steaks and things like that.” Loki turned back into his human form, he sat cross legged in the position he was originally in when Blake asked him what he would do with the fur if he did kill a deer. “Hmmm...that is an interesting question.” It wasn't like he could tuck it away with his rabbit fur collection since it would be so big. “Well I am no seam master, never learned the craft. My father was pissed enough when he found out that I tried dabbling in healing. If I showed interest in that sort of thing I bet he'd cut off my hand if I did.” Loki looked away as he pondered the question some more. “I suppose the first pelt I'd get I could use it as an extra blanket to keep me warm on chilly nights. That would be cool right?”
“Though the bigger question is how would I carry the thing home.” Now that he thought about that taking it anywhere would be tricky for someone his size to do. It was a fair distance between the forest and his home. He lived in an apartment too, wouldn't it look suspicious if he tried dragging a deer corpse up to his apartment. “Deers are really big so I doubt I could carry it too far out the woods. If it was a baby deer I could do it easily...but there would be no challenge if I killed a fawn...maybe chopping it up into smaller bits would do the trick, what do you think?”
