Today was going to be another good day, Loki could tell when he woke up this morning. The sky was clear, the sun was shining and it felt nice and warm. It was the perfect time to go outside. That was exactly what Loki planned to do. Despite finally having a place to call home Loki was still every bit the wild cat that he had been when he had lived out on the streets. He still liked being outdoors and wandering around to explore new areas. Back in his homeless days it had been essential to learn about every nook and cranny of the towns he wandered in. It was a good way to learn what were the best hunting spots, both for pickpocketing and actual prey, shelter, and safe spots to hide in in case he ever ran into trouble. Most of that was not as necessary as it was before. He had a home and food so he would never have to be hungry ever again. There was little point in checking out places for shelter or food anymore.
But there was still some point in checking out the rest of New Orlands. Loki might not be homeless, but he still wanted to get his bearings. There would come a day when his roommate Azazel would want him to go out to gather information, or find something, or even someone in the city. He would have a hard time doing that without knowing where to go. So this week the little shifter decided to dedicate some time to exploring the place. Today was the perfect time for doing just that. Leaving a little note for Azazel, telling him that he was going to go out for the day Loki slipped out of the apartment and hit the streets. Loki's journey took him far out of the heart of the city and closer to the outskirts, a place that he had never been to since he had first arrived. Eventually his journey lead him to an interesting stop. The junkyard.
If there was any place that the shapeshifting cat wanted to take his time to explore this would be the place. Junkyards were one of the best places to find shelter, and even food in. The place was always filled with plenty of nooks and crannies to hide in, and the place was always teeming with rodents to hunt. Had Loki not run into Azazel this would have been the kind of place that he would have ended up living in. It wasn't the most ideal setup in the world but it wasn't something that he would have been opposed to. Even now he wasn't looking down his nose at a place like this. In fact he was kind of curious. A little exploring wouldn't hurt now would it? Taking a quick look around him to make sure no humans were around, Loki shifted to his animal form and went inside the junkyard to explore.
Loki had a lot more fun than he thought he would exploring the place. There was so many new things to sniff and get into, even scratch to his hearts content without worrying about breaking anything. The little shifter spent more time than he had planned in the place just to check things out, chase after mice, and even make small talk with the locals (he wasn't the only cat that was roaming around the place). By the time he was done the feline ended up taking a quick nap on top of the roof of some old run down car underneath the warmth of the sun. His light nap turned into a deep sleep, and by the time he woke up the sun was setting. Well...that took longer than I thought the feline yawned and stretched as he tried to wake up. He hadn't planned to stay outside as long as he did, but it wasn't that bad. It wasn't like he had to get back home before dusk, it was just safer to get home before dark. Guess I should get going now before it gets too late.

After her run in the other day with Mugen, Kazuko wanted to get away from as many humans as she could so she headed for the edges of the city and eventually the forest. Finding herself near the junkyard she went in, mice and rats were better than no meal at all. It was late afternoon and after catching only a few rats it was already starting to edge toward dark. She took a deep breath in to see if she could catch the scent of any more of the vermin but instead she caught the scent of human mixed with something, cat maybe.
Growling she looked around for the source of the smell. Not seeing it immediately she tried to catch other scents over it but between the new scent and the trash she couldn't. Growling louder she looked harder for the source of the smell, going so far as to try and follow it, which worked for the most part.

Loki yawned and stretched to vanquish the last remnants of sleep from his tired little body. With the sun setting fast in the sky it was past time that he headed back home. This little shifter had lived out on the streets long enough to know how dangerous it was to be out and about during night time in any city. This city in particular was more dangerous than most. New Orlands was one of the few human cities that had a rather large supernatural population than every other city he had ever been in, and he had been in quite a few. Not all supernaturals were like him, there were plenty that kept to themselves and simply wanted to live their life like he did. But there were plenty of demons, vampires, werewolves, and a whole host of unknown monstrosities that would love to toy or make an easy meal out of a simple shapeshifter like him. Just knowing that was bad enough but what really worried him was the one dangerous beast that was prong to chasing his tail. Guillotine.
Today was such a nice relaxing day, it would be a shame if it were to get ruined by that stupid hellhound's appearance all because he had taken too long getting back home to his angelic friend. Purring softly Loki hopped off the roof of the car to the hood. He was about to jump off the car completely when something caught his attention. Or rather nothing. The junkyard was eerily quiet for a place that was usually full of life. Loki had been around junkyards before to know that other creatures lived here. This one in particular seemed to be inhabited mainly by stray cats. But most of the cats that he had seen, or even talked to were no where in sight. That was odd. He could have brushed this off as the local residence being asleep or left during the time he had been snoozing. But instinct told him otherwise. Loki knew well enough to trust his instincts when it came to things like this. There were only two reasons any place would be so quiet. Either there was no one around, or there was a predator on the prowl.
He didn't need to take a guess which one of those scenarios he was in now. Loki peered out around him, his ears perked up, and his nose ready to sniff out any hints of danger nearby. He didn't have to look too hard to see what the cause of his unease was. It was....a wolf? That was strange. A wolf was the last thing that he would have expected to see out in a place like this. But should he really be surprised? Loki had seen crazier things, things that he didn't think were ever suppose to exist, in his short time on this planet. A wolf in a junkyard was no shock in New Orlands compared to most other things. Its presence did make him feel uneasy. A hungry wolf did not make much of a distinction between its normal prey and cats. Most of Loki's past experience with canines had not been the best. He had been hunted by smaller dogs than this wolf in the past, and with a hellhound constantly chasing his tail he didn't want to add yet another canine on that list.
Loki jumped back up onto the roof of the car he was on to keep a better eye on the wolf that was slowly approaching him. He wasn't sure if it had spotted him yet, it seemed to be sniffing intently for something. Could it be looking for him? “You are a long way from home.” the feline mewed from his perch. If this wolf was hunting him announcing his presence was a good way to foil its plans. “You better turn away while you have the chance before some humans spot you. They tend to be rather violent to creatures that don't belong here.” The moment that the spotted cat sat down he shifted into his human form in the hopes of maybe startling the creature away. How well that would work he didn't know. Most animals could smell what he was right away so they rarely acted out of fear of him when he did change shape. This one might not be afraid of his human form but it was at least something of a deterrent on its plan to make him a meal. He was bigger now, and he had his small arsenal of knives hidden away just in case it still wanted to have a go at him.

Kazuko quickly looked up at the sound of the voice, it was a cat but it wasn't like any she'd seen before. Sniffing the air she noticed the smell definitely came from him. She sat where she was and watched him shift. After he was human she came a little closer, maybe a couple feet, and sat down again.
"I thought I smelled something mixed with human. Why would you care what happens to me?" She asked, maybe being a bit harsh but she believed that until someone proved otherwise they meant her harm. She didn't really trust anyone anymore, she might only trust someone again if she ran into someone from her pack. "By the way, I'm only hunting mice and rats. Cats are to fast for a starving wolf," She said, not knowing if this person saw her as a threat or not.

When Loki's instinct told him he might be in danger the little shapeshifter didn't think twice about questioning it. Any animal worth its salt knew to trust its instincts even if things didn't seem to be too bad at the moment. This time was no exception. When he sensed that he was not alone and took the time to look around to confirm that feeling he spotted a wolf. A wolf, right here in the junkyard. Talk about surprises. A wolf was the last thing that Loki thought he would stumble upon in a place like this. It was a troubling situation but at least it wasn't that hellhound. Loki had to admit on that front he was rather lucky. A strange wolf might be easier to handle than an overgrown hellhound. This one was much smaller and skinnier than Gil was. It was alarmingly skinny at that. He could almost count the ribs underneath that thick layer of she had. This wolf had to be starving. Poor thing. He could understand if it was so desperate for food that it was willing to follow any scent it found in the hopes of an easy meal. But that didn't help him feel any easier seeing it coming so close to his area. A hungry wolf might see him as food.
So Loki did the one thing he could do, get up on higher ground. As far as he knew wolves were not great climbers. While the rusty old car was not a tree it would provide somewhat of a challenge for the wolf to climb up just to get him. He was also banking on the fact it being a starving wolf it wouldn't have the energy to waste so much effort just to try and get at him. He knew that this was not enough to assure his safety. He could have tried to sneak away before it noticed him but there was too much of a risk that he could be found while trying to make his escape. So instead of running Loki made his presence known, evening going as far as to transform to his human form in the small hope that that alone would startle the bigger creature. That...didn't really work out. It wasn't a surprise that it didn't. Judging from the female dog's words she had already caught his scent and probably figured that something like this would happen.
Her choice of words though did give him a bit of a chuckle. Loki couldn't help but think back on the days when he had been living back in his original world. What this wolf had said about his scent would have been considered a huge insult to someone of his birth. He could think of a certain annoyance in his life that would have been beside himself in rage at the thought of anyone calling his son human. “Just because I have a human form doesn't make me one of them darling.” Loki purred as he spoke to the she-wolf. “If any human saw what I did just now they would say the same...trust me, I know from experience.” he knew that all too well. On that matter he would keep silent on. He had no reason or desire to talk much about his past experiences with humans. Instead he moved along with the next part of the conversation. “Maybe I do care, or maybe I don't. Who can say? Perhaps I said what I said as a simple observation? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that someone like you doesn't belong here.” There was no malice or anger in the way he spoke to her, his tone was a lot less defensive than the words she had spoken to him.
Loki had a good understanding about people. Human, shifter, whatever they were, most shared simliar thoughts and feelings that were easy to decipher once you could figure it out. This wolf was guarded and wary. It was almost funny thinking that such a creature would be wary of him of all things, but he couldn't really blame her for it. Loki looked relatively harmless and had been just as he seemed not too long ago. For the most part he still was, but his hidden weapons would suggest otherwise. If push came to shove he was more than ready to fight this wolf. She only needed to give him a good reason to do so. But for the moment she didn't. Despite her obvious hunger issues she didn't try to have a go at him. Perhaps he wasn't in danger today after all? That would be a blessing for once. “Wolves are exactly common around these parts and its with good reason. Humans tend to not like big scary creatures or other oddities. You will be in serious trouble if one spotted you here. I at least can hide amongst them thanks to my natural talents but someone like you can't...unless you happen to be more than just a scrawny looking wolf?” Loki had a few ideas on what this creature might be. There was the chance that he was dealing with a normal wolf here, but New Orlands was not the kind of place that allowed normal things to happen. No normal wolf would be out this far in a human place but a supernatural wolf? Now that was more likely.
Too bad he couldn't catch her scent. The wind did not favor him today, with it blowing downwards it easily carried his scent down where the she wolf sat but effectively blocked him from catching hers. The only way he would be able to tell what she was from her scent was if he went down to her, and he certainly was not going to take the risk there. What she said next though made him feel a little easier about doing that though. The boy smiled down on the white creature. “One creature's misfortune is another one's luck I suppose.” he chuckled. “I will keep that in mind for the next hungry wolf I encounter. Though I wouldn't recommend trying to eat me no matter what your condition is. You might have already noticed this, but I am nothing more than fluff and bone in my true form. I wouldn't even make a good snack for someone like you.” Loki had always been a small and slender kid. Even now that he was finally not half starved all the time he still maintained a very slender figure for a guy his age. It was a good way at convincing would be attackers that he wasn't worth the trouble for a meal, though it didn't help with anything else. “As far as rodents go you came to the right place. This place is full of the little morsels, you can easily get your belly filled here...if you were a cat that is. For you, you could hunt here all day and still starve yourself to death. It really is a waste of your time. You need bigger game which you aren't going to find here. You really should just head to the forest instead. There is one not too far from here. I can take you there myself and help you get a quick meal if you want.”

"Regardless you smell partially human, though I could smell something mixed in that I thought was cat," She said with a wolfish smile. "I have no doubt that you wouldn't be accepted, I know I'm not accepted around wolves anymore," She said as she looked at the ground. "Maybe so, I haven't been able to catch anything in the forest for weeks though so what am I supposed to do?" She asked, as if her frame didn't say that much.
"I can get out of here without much of a commotion about it by the humans that live around here if that's what you mean. I used to be normal but I'm not anymore," She said, suddenly wanting to howl in sorrow but here that would be suicide. Keeping quiet she just laied down and put her head on her paws. She huffed a sigh as she laied there.
"Guess so on the misfortune part, you would be more than nothing so for me it wouldn't be wasted. Still I would rather not try and catch a cat," She said as she glance up at him without raising her head. "I've caught a few, they aren't to hard for even a wolf to catch," She said with a small smile, some of them were even easier if she was in human form. "They still don't fill me up but again, it's better than nothing. I take what I can get most of the time," She said and smiled to herself sadly, she missed the pack where she had a good meal every night and was never hungry. She thought about his offer to hunt and looked up at him, raising her full head this time. "You would really help me? Why?" She asked, again maybe more harsh than was needed but she was weary of help.

Being called part human should have been considered an insult for someone like him, but Loki took the she-wolf's comment rather well. It was pretty funny to hear that the way he saw it. From any other creature's standpoint it wasn't much of a stretch to call them that. Shapeshifters did have a human side to them. It was just as much a part of themselves as their animal side. Old, prideful, bastards like his father would have tried to kill anyone that dared to say such foul things to a pureblooded shifter but Loki was not like that. He wasn't like his father. Even if it had been an insult Loki let most insults roll off of him like it was nothing. His pride wasn't so big that it was such a big deal being looked down upon. The wolf wasn't trying to insult him as far as he could see which made it all the more easier to dismiss it. He still put in his two cents worth on the issue. No matter how human Loki looked he was still a wild cat and it showed.
His physical appearance was mainly normal, aside from his small and slender frame, but his eyes were a dead give away, especially when they glowed in the dark. The bigger giveaway was his personality. He still had a bad habit of purring when he was satisfied or someone so much as patted him on the head. It was things like that that put him in danger and he knew it. He experienced what humans might do to him if he was ever discovered. He loathed the idea of ever having to go through that again, and he loathed the idea of seeing it happened to anyone else. It was that thought that made him caution this wolf about being out in human territory in the first place. He didn't know enough about her to know if she was fully aware of the danger she was in by being all the way out here. Her response to that made him suspect she did though. In fact, what she said peaked his interest in her. That explains why she is the only one here he mused to himself. Loki didn't hang around a lot of dogs but he did know that wolves didn't travel alone for the most part.
When you saw one wolf there was a good chance that there was another one lurking nearby. But he didn't sense any other presence other than this one's. Now that she spoke about not being accepted amongst her own kind it was plainly obvious that she was a loner. “Really now? I guess wolves can be judgmental asshats too. Don't worry, most of my shapeshifting brethren where I was born were big jerks too.” Why would other wolves hate this female though? As far as he could tell she didn't look like she was any different than any other wolf. But that was just on the surface. There had to be something different about this one that he hadn't noticed yet that would explain this for him. Loki fell silent as the female wolf continued to speak. It appeared that his assumption had been wrong. This wolf wasn't lost, she knew where the forest was. The problem was she couldn't catch anything there. “Seriously? Do you not know how to hunt?” Loki jumped down from his spot and walked up over to her, his golden feline eyes looking over her carefully.
Did she really not know how to hunt? That was a first. Her body did look weak which would make things more challenging when it came to chasing down prey, but over all she looked like she should have been a capable hunter. This female was as young as he was from the looks of it which meant there was little excuse for her to not know how to hunt. From the time that his kind could walk on their own they learned how to hunt...with the exception of higher borns of course. Hunting was more important for peasants that had to rely on catching their daily meals to survive. People like him didn't need to be taught. Loki had learned how to hunt on his own. But as far as he could tell this wolf wasn't some noble girl that didn't need to dirty her paws. She should have learned long ago how to do it.
Just as Loki stopped in front of her did he catch her scent. Well, wasn't this odd. Leaning down a little he took in a quick sniff again. Yes, this scent was not fully canine. He was not off the mark when he first thought she might not be a normal wolf. But whatever she was it wasn't anything he had encountered before. It didn't carry the same scent of another shapeshifter, but it wasn't like a werewolf's either. It was close to it though. There was traces of human lingering in her scent but the wolf part to her scent was much stronger which was the exact opposite than that of a werewolf. “Hmmm I think I am starting to understand why wolves don't like you.” the boy crouched down before her, lowering himself to ensure the canine that he still wasn't a threat. “You have a human form don't you?” Judging from what this wolf said she used to be an ordinary wolf. She wasn't born like she was now. She wasn't the first supernatural that had been transformed that way, but she certainly was the first animal that he ever knew that became one. That might explain why she couldn't hunt in the forest. If she was cast away from other wolves because she was changed early on in life then she had no one to teach her how to do it.
Loki listened to the female explain that what she was doing now was the only choice she had for survival. The boy shook his head when he heard that. “Rodents might be enough to survive on if you were smaller but for you its a waste of your time. At the rate you are going now even if you hunt them all day you will die of starvation.” he stated matter of factly. He didn't mean to be cruel with what he was saying but it was the truth. This wolf did not have much longer to live at the rate she was going. Something had to be done. “Looks like I got no choice here.” Loki stood back up and smiled down at the female. “I'll teach you how to hunt.” The boy laughed when she asked why he was bothering to help her. “Its simple really, I am just a nice guy.” Loki beamed down at her. “Its in my nature to help out those I see that are in need. Friend, foe, strangers, it doesn't really matter to me. If someone is in trouble and I can help somehow I will do it. Besides I know what its like to be starving. It hasn't been too long ago since I had been living out on the streets here struggling to survive. Back then I had someone pick me up and care for me in my time of need, it feels stupid to not try to share my fortune with someone in a similar position I was in not too long ago.”
“If you got a human form I suggest you take on that form right now. You can change back to your wolf form once we are in the safety of the forest. I don't think we will catch anything really filling for you tonight but a few rabbits here and there will at least give you enough energy to go after bigger game tomorrow.” Loki started walking towards the exit, if the wolf wasn't willing to follow him he wouldn't force her to but given her circumstances he doubted that she wouldn't follow along at some point.

"I was never taught, when I had a pack I was the alpha's daughter. Besides that I was still considered a pup when my pack was killed, my mother hid me or I wouldn't have survived myself. I was caught not to long after and some guy used magic on me. It took away everything that I knew," She said as she looked right at the person in front of her.
"Yes I have a human form, I really wish I didn't though," She said as she looked away, she stared at a pile of trash that was suddenly interesting.
"When that's literally all you can catch that's what you hunt for thought," she said with a sigh. "Thanks for the help, even if I don't completely trust you yet," She said as she swung her head around to look back at him. Listening to his reason made her realize that he had been where she was basically.
"Wait by the entrance, I'll be there in a few minutes," She called to him as he walked away. She dashed off right after to go grab the cloths she had stashed before adventuring to deep into the junk yard, far enough away from the entrance that no one would see her but close enough to be able to run if she needed to. Once she was back in human form with the cloths on that still basically hung off of her she headed for the entrance to meet up with the guy who was supposed to teach her to hunt.
"By the way what's your name?" She asked as she reached the entrance of the junkyard.

The moment that the she-wolf said she was having trouble hunting in the forest Loki knew that it was because she didn't know how to hunt. It was impossible not to find some food in the woods. The forest was teeming with life both big and small. Loki was not big or strong enough to catch the bigger game like deer, at least not without the help of his throwing knives anyway. But he had seen enough of them to know that they were abundant enough to keep a wolf from starving. Deer were common prey for wolves weren't they? Finding food shouldn't have been an issue but catching it was another story. It made much more sense that she didn't know how to do it. But that idea in itself seemed ridiculous to him. Maybe he was just making assumptions thanks to his cultural up bringing. Cats and dogs lived different lives and had different customs. While most of his kind as kittens learned how to fend for themselves hunting wise at a very young age that didn't mean that everyone did. Maybe wolves weren't taught till later? From what this wolf said she was rejected from her own kind for awhile now. It was possible that she had been banished from her people before she learned how to hunt.
How cruel...to do something so harsh to someone so young was a death sentence. That had to be the intention seeing her condition. She was doing the best she could but it was only a matter of time before her body became too weak to even try and catch a mouse. Then she would die. Luckily for her she had bumped into the right cat. “So you were made this way huh?” the boy mused. Loki was still pretty ignorant of the things of this world. Back home he had heard of magic before but those that wielded it were so rare that it was thought to be a myth. His father certainly thought it was and would have kept that 'superstitious nonsense' away from him. But now that he was here and met a real witch he knew that it existed. Perhaps Blake could help the wolf out? “I'm sorry that such a cruel thing happened to you. I can sympathize, though I haven't lost my family in the same way before...I am not sure if there is anything that can be done to change you back. I have a friend that I can ask about that sort of thing. I don't know if she can help but that is a start. Though right now the most important thing for you is to get something in your stomach. That much I can help with, after that we can focus on this whole magic thing.” He might have to bring the wolf with him when he went to see Blake. The lovely little witch would probably want to see the one afflicted with the magic problem once she heard about it.
For now their first order of business was getting out of the junkyard without being spotted. It would be hard to avoid trouble with the white wolf in her current state. If a human spotted her, even if she was walking with a 'human' boy her life could still be in danger. He could try to carefully sneak her into the forest without being spotted but the easiest thing they could do was have her disguise herself as a human as well. From the way she smelled Loki had a good guess that she could deliver on that department. His guess happened to be spot on. The boy smiled when the wolf revealed the truth. “Don't look so down dear, you might have had that form thrust upon you but it does have its benefits. Like right now for instance. Having a human form means you can hide easier in human areas without getting shot or thrown in a cage.” he said. “If you can't return to the way you once were you will have to learn to accept the new you, or live the rest of your life hating yourself and that is no way to live now is it?”
Loki chuckled when the she-wolf thanked him for helping her out, her comment on not trusting him yet made him chuckle louder. “Is that so? It pains me so to have such a pretty creature question my motives. Perhaps I can earn your trust sometime soon. Besides what could you possibly fear from me? I am a simple shapeshifting cat. If push comes to shove you could always devour me in the end.” the boy winked. Now that would be a sight to see. Loki didn't want to flirt with danger too much here. He really did not like the thought of anything trying to eat his cute fluffy tail. Though he was a little less honest on how harmless he really was. The shifter might still not be able to handle someone as powerful and as dangerous as Guillotine but he had learned enough training with Azazel to handle a starving wolf if he needed to. But he doubted he would have to with this one. When the wolf asked him to wait by the entrance while she changed forms Loki did what she asked. There was a chance that she would take this opportunity to just ditch him and run but he doubted she would. She was desperate enough to go along with someone she claimed she had no trust in for the sake of food. There was no way she was going to run without getting what she was promised.
Only a few minutes passed by when the former wolf reemerged. The boy smiled at the pretty white haired woman walking towards her. Her new look was not something surprising to him. He could tell just looking at her in her animal form that she would make a pretty human. The white hair and the pretty dress that barely hung onto her unusually slender frame still made her stick out like a sore thumb but this would have to do. “Not bad.” the boy commented as he slowly looked her over. “Love your taste in clothes. The dress looks good on you, it would look even better once you gain a few pounds.” Loki offered his hand out to the young female. “Shall we get going?” It was then that the female asked him for his name. The boy gave her a warm smile. How could he have forgotten to introduce himself earlier? Man he was getting rusty. “My name is Loki.” he replied. “What is your name?”

Kazuko slowly nodded,if she was born this way she would be more comfortable and probably still have a family. She sighed as he continued. "Thank you, really. Your helping me get food and your hopefully not lying about possibly someone to help me with what I am," She said completely sincere. "Honestly though, I still prefer my wolf form. Hopefully once I fully learn to hunt I'll spend more time in the forest. I don't really like the city and it's not place for a wolf, even if I'm outcast from wolves I still don't belong with humans," She said with her eyes closed, fighting back tears.
"Maybe, I tend not to trust easily. After everything that happened to me can you really blame be though?" She asked softly. "I've learned that even the most innocent looking things can be harsh and dangerous in reality," She added, trying to say that it wasn't really his fault without outright saying it.
Of course she wasn't going to pass up an opportunity of actually catching wild game to eat. Thankfully she had the chance to learn to hunt for herself now and she wasn't going to waste it by just running off. Once she got back she saw that he had done as she asked. "Thanks, and yes, I agree, I need to gain a little to fit into the dress again," She said with a half smile. She couldn't deny that the dress hung off of her a little awkwardly and no longer fit her figure. "Oh, mine's Kazuko. Nice to meet you Loki," She said politely, it wasn't like anyone really knew her or she was easy to track down with just her name.

At first Loki was a little worried about how he was going to deal with this female wolf. His very first thoughts were that she might try to make a meal out of him, which thankfully didn't happen. As starved as she might be this canine seemed to have little interest in eating or even chasing him around. This had to be the first dog that Loki ever met that didn't want a piece of his fluffy tail. He was grateful for that more than this female could ever know. It was partially because of that that he had offered his assistance in gaining her some better food and teach her how to hunt so she could survive better on her own. It was his own way of thanking her for being the one dog in the world that didn't want to cause him harm. That wasn't his only reason of course. Being a young, lonely, shapeshifter living out on the streets not too long ago he knew how hard it was to live like she was. Her current state now was pretty much how he and Amalia had been when they had spent their first few months in this new world. It had been tough then, they had to live off what prey they could catch and begging at first. But that had been no good.
Loki had only hunted for sport back in his old world so he had been a terrible hunter at first, and Amalia's weak body had made it difficult for her to catch anything for herself half the time, eventually hunting had been too strenuous for them to continue. Begging was getting them no where too. He did have to resort to stealing in the end just to fill their stomachs. Stealing ended up being the better option for survival until he learned how to be a better hunter. Even then he still relied on pickpocketing as their main way of survival. It wasn't perfect but it was something. This wolf, unlike him had not discovered this option. For all he knew she didn't even understand the concept of money to know that she could take it to exchange it for goods. Assuming she had a human form for her to even risk trying to buy anything. Hunting was her only option, if she couldn't do that she was going to die. Loki couldn't bear the thought of leaving someone to die such a slow terrible death. He could barely leave Gil to die the first time he had seen Azazel beat him down, and Gil was his enemy.
He was worried at first that the wolf might reject his offer. She seemed to be rather defensive around him at the start but she was rather quick to lower her guard now. Looked like someone was not so untrusting of strangers as he originally thought. Good. The boy gave her a warm smile when she thanked him for the help. “No problem dear.” he couldn't help but laugh when she commented on the friend he had mentioned earlier. “I only tell lies when there is a benefit in me telling one.” Loki remarked. It would be a bold face lie to state otherwise. On the surface Loki was an honest looking kid but he was far from being that. He was far more deceptive than most people thought he was, even the few friends that he had now didn't know everything about him. Today concerning this issue though he was free to be truthful and for the wolf's sake he was going to stick to that. “There is no benefit for me to lie about my friend. I can't guarantee that they can help but its worth a shot if you want to risk it. The choice is yours.”
Loki could only guess what the she wolf would decide when the time came. The way he saw it she was sure to come with him to meet Blake. Maybe not tonight but she would at some point. If she could trust him enough to let him guide her into the woods and teach her how to hunt she might be willing to put some faith in Blake. It would be hard to reject a chance that she could find a way to rid herself of her human form. What a pity it would be if that happened. As a creature that held two forms at birth Loki loved both his forms. Both of them had their own uses and allowed him to experience the world in a different way than others who didn't. If given time maybe the she wolf could embrace her new self too? Her human form wasn't too bad looking. She was very pretty as a wolf and as a human. He would have been a fool not to comment on it. Loki complimented her like the charming little flirt he was which earned him a little half smile from the female. Now that they were ready it was time to go, but just as Loki was about to leave the junkyard with her, the female asked for his name.
Man did he feel a little silly for not introducing himself earlier. How could he forget to do that? Pushing that thought aside Loki finally did give her his name. Like always the boy didn't bother to give a false name. Even though he had settled in New Orlands he was still not known well enough to worry about giving his own name. Once he gave his name he asked her for hers. The boy smiled as she gave him her name. “It's nice to meet you too.” He told her. “Kazuko huh? That's a pretty name.” he purred. He definitely found her name interesting. It suited her well. Loki started moving forward towards their destination as the two talked. They still had a place to go but the forest was still a little bit away from where they were. What was he going to do once they got there? He had every intention of doing what he promised but would what he could teach her really help her out in the long run? “For the record I am not sure how much I can teach you about hunting. I am pretty good, but my hunting style is best suited for smaller game. I am not sure how well it will transfer over to you hunting the kind of prey you need to survive but I guess we will just have to see when we get there.”

"Well that's good I guess, at least I know I can somewhat trust what you say," She had already been tricked by words once, won over as an adolescent wolf to trust that human. She didn't like where that lead so she no longer trusted words, sometimes not even actions. She needed food badly or she probably wouldn't even trust this cat. "I hope it will help and not make it worse," She said, there was always a possibility that magic could go wrong. She had seen wolves killed because of magic, the same magic who made her what she is now.
It wasn't a definite that she would go meet the friend that he talked about, she was following Loki for her own purposes and needs. It was difficult to imagine a situation where she wouldn't take the chance to possibly louse her human form, but it could happen. She wasn't as trusting as she seemed right now, if Loki had found her before the magic user than it would have been possible.
"Thanks," She said with a smile while looking at the ground. She was really hiding a blush but she didn't want Loki to know that. It was difficult to not accept one of Loki's comments, even if he seemed to give them often. "It should transfer well enough to at least rabbits, a couple rabbits would be able to feed me till I gained a little weight. Then I can try and test some of my own techniques, that I'll hopefully develop, and try for a deer or something," She said, hoping that would work out the way she imagined it would.

Somewhat trustworthy? Well, that was better than being completely untrustworthy. Loki would take that comment as a complement. Kazuko seemed a little slower to trust than most creatures. He couldn't blame her given her past. Losing everyone you ever cared about at such a young age would affect anyone badly. He knew first hand what it was like to lose a love one thanks to the evil of others. He had so much hate in his heart for humans after that. He hated the humans that had murdered Amalia, that hate naturally extended to all humans. He blamed her death on the arrogance and fear of humans just as much as he blamed himself for it. But over time that hatred had subsided. What had changed? Loki didn't know what it was, at some point in time he learned to let go of his anger. There was no reason to be angry anymore. Amalia was gone and no amount of cursing her killers or thoughts of vengence would change that. Even if he could kill the ones who killed her that would have done nothing to to bring her back. He still hated himself for the things he did that led to her demise but as far as the issue with humans were concerned his distrust for all of them had subsided. He had a human friend so he couldn't hate the human race as a whole anymore. Even if that human friend might be considered different from the average human.
Maybe one day Kazuko could get past her own hatred and mistrust. For now Loki didn't say anything on that. It was not his place to try to make her open her heart to those that might want to help her. She had to find her own answers on her own. The most he could do was show her that not everyone out in the world was a bad guy. That much would be easy for him to do. Loki was after all a nice guy. He wouldn't be doing what he was doing if he didn't. Loki held back a devious smile when he noticed Kazuko blushing. Try as she might she couldn't hide that blush from him. It was so damn adorable he wanted to get even more of a rise out of her but for the moment he held back and pretended he didn't notice. As much as Loki loved to tease shy girls he didn't want to take it too far with this one in case he ended up chasing her away. For now he would be tame...as tame as the mischievous cat could be. Instead of escalating things he turned his attention to the task at hand.
Could he do it? Could he teach this female the skills she needed to catch the kind of prey she needed? Loki never did spend a lot of time in the forest to witness wolves on the hunt, but he did have an idea of what kind of prey suited them best. The prey she needed to kill was far bigger than anything he had ever tried to take down. There was a chance that his own skills would be able to translate into something useful for Kazuko. He wasn't shy in telling her that. Kazuko didn't seem as worried about that as he was, she was pretty confident that she could catch rabbits if things went now. “I was aiming for something even better than that, but rabbits are a good start.” the boy said. By the time he was finished pondering his teaching plans for the day the pair found their way into the forest. Kazuko had a good plan for what prey they should be going for first that he could work with. Rabbits weren't Loki's normal choice in prey but he had been using them for target practice for his knife throwing skills for awhile now. He had gotten so good that they weren't much of a challenge. He knew how to hunt them, and he knew some of their territories that they could go to. It would be easy to just lead her to the right place, but where was the fun in that? Looking around to make sure no human, or other nosy creature was watching, Loki shifted into his animal form. He didn't even bother to tell Kazuko to do the same. The wolf girl was probably itching to change forms the second they entered the forest, she was bound to turn once she saw him do so. “Rabbits would be a good start for you today so lets hunt those.” the feline turned to her as he spoke. “So Kazuko before we get on with this tell me, how good of a tracker are you?”

For Kazuko to say that to anyone it was a complement. She never fully trusted anyone anymore so for her to even somewhat trust anyone it was a huge thing. She would only trust her family and she found out pretty quick after she got away from the stupid magic user that she didn't have any left. She held hatred for everyone since then, her heart was consumed by anger and sorrow. She sometimes wished she knew what to feel.
She didn't know if she would ever trust anyone fully again. The problem was the phrase she had heard many times since entering the human world, mostly while she was begging or grabbing something to eat with the money she had gotten by begging. Follow your heart, her heart was telling her to stay away and not trust anyone she saw, anyone with a human form. Animals didn't usually have another reason for helping than to help but humans sometimes did. She feared anything with a human form because they could be deceptive, the cat who was leading her had admitted it, even if he said he only did it when he needed to.
She simply nodded to his comment about rabbits, they'd be enough food to get her strength back and get her started back in the right direction. The rabbits may even get some of her weight back, even if it wasn't much. She had been hoping to catch rabbits ever since all this started, she could find them just fine but she never could actually catch them. She sighed as they entered the forest, what she considered her home. She had to admit that it was more of a home to her than any house ever would be, even if she had been staying in a few abandoned houses lately. When she saw Loki change she went just far enough away that she wouldn't be seen but close enough so that if she was listening and he said anything she would hear him. She took off her dress while she was out of sight, then shifted, and was stepping from the trees right as Loki turned to look at her. "I'm okay at it, I tracked your scent through a junkyard after all," She said with a small smile at Loki.

Loki had gained Kazuko's trust, that was a big deal, bigger than most people would have thought. It wasn't too hard to see why anyone would trust this loveable little wild cat. Loki was sweet, thoughtful, kind, and generally friendly with anyone he met. Part of his seemingly charming nature was hammered into him by his parents when he was younger, but the kindness was all him. His mother and father only taught him how to act when it came to people of importance, those of noble birth, or foreign leaders from other tribes that it was important not to anger. That kindness was not meant to extend to those considered beneath him. Had he listened to any of those teachings he would not have bothered with Kazuko at all. What was the young wolf to someone like him? She was nothing more than a wild animal, she wasn't even a shapeshifter. A crueler, more self centered creature would have just walked away. But Loki wasn't like that. He could leave a person in need and the way he saw it this wolf needed help. So he decided to help out.
There was nothing that he could gain out of this but he didn't mind. If there was anything he could get out of this arrangement at all it was the chance to sate his curiosity. Kazuko was the second wolf that he had ever met that didn't try to eat him right away. This little feline never did have a good track record when it came to dealing with canines. While he didn't go out of his way to trouble them, dogs in general always gave him trouble. The small ones that weren't so much of a physical threat were yappy little beast that snapped at him any time they saw him, and the big ones tried to eat him. The poor male had to run for his life from dogs that were half the size of this she wolf. All Loki knew about dogs were that they were a species best avoided. But now that he was socializing with some of them he was getting a rare chance to know more about them beyond the few horrible experiences he had.
This could be fun. Loki would love to see where this encounter took him later on in the future. For now he needed to focus on the current task at hand. Teaching Kazuko how to hunt. It didn't take too long for the two to make their way into the forest. Once they were far enough in that he was sure they were safe from prying eyes the boy shifted into his feline form. He didn't bother to tell her to do the same, he didn't need to. The moment he changed she left his side to transform as well. Just like when she had transformed into a human back in the junkyard, she ran out of sight to change forms. Loki sat patiently where he was and waited for the female's return. Thought the female wolf was out of sight for him to see how she changed forms he couldn't help but notice a few things.
Her transformation was different from his. As a shapeshifter Loki was able to switch between his human and animal forms fluidly. It took only a second or two for him to make the change each time and he could do it at any time he wanted. But Kazuko's change seemed to take longer. It wasn't just the time it took her to leave before she did it, but how long it took in between the time she left and came back that made him think. The clothing part was another curious factor. Loki never worried about having to take off he clothes or losing his clothes when he transformed. Unless chained down with a lot of metal or iron, any clothes he wore changed with him. But for Kazuko it seemed different. He could hear her changing out of her clothes from where he was sitting. She really was different from him. He was tempted to ask her more about her limitations when she returned but he chose to leave those questions for another time.
Loki purred a little when Kazuko reemerged from the brush. Now that she was all set it was time to start their hunt. His first order of business was making sure she knew how to track things down first. The female smiled when he asked her about her tracking skills and pointed out how she had tracked him down, which gave him a little chuckle. “Finding little ol' me is one thing. My scent is pretty unique compared to any of the other cats that live in the junkyard, its even easier to track down when trying to find one little creature in a small area.” Loki purred. “But out here, tracking is another story. Out here you will be looking for one creature in a vast open area with thousands of other scents to distract you. There are more places for your prey to hide away than you would think, and unlike them you are new to this environment. You are at a major disadvantage as you stand now compared to your prey. Remember that.”
Loki walked up to Kazuko's side. He knew where they needed to go in order to find what they needed to get, it would be an easy thing for him to show her where the rabbits usual grounds were, but that would defeat the purpose for this journey. If he was going to teach her how to hunt properly he needed to see what he was working with. For that they needed to start from the basic. “Tracking is not just purely by scent alone. Though I have no doubts that your dainty little puppy nose will be much more effective tracking scents compared to mine, but you have to keep your eyes and ears open just as much as your nose. You seem pretty confident though so I am sure this part won't be too hard. Show me what you got, find where our meal is.”
