Another end to another long day. Blake knew that for the last week… or so? Who knew? She knew she was out of sorts, and had been trying to shake it off but that was easier said than done. How do you shake this pain that you can't explain away? There was no way, it seemed. She seemed to be ok on some days only to end up crying alone somewhere. Why? One simple word. A name. Loki. But why did this hurt so much? It could have been the harsh way that the friendship suddenly ended. Or maybe she found it to be harsh? Who knew. She only knew that she had yet to fully make a recovery. The poor girl seemed to be very zombie-like. That it seemed if she had an autopilot that would be what she was on, on most days. She this truly wondered if it was something that she had said or done. That maybe his reasons weren't just. But how could that be? Granted, she didn't know him all that well. She just knew that his presence made her smile and when he smiled, she smiled even more. That was all she was aware of. She knew that much. But why did this all hurt so, so much?
Maybe it didn't matter. Since they last saw one another, she was keeping to herself and remaining silent for the most part. Being polite and talking when she needed to. Otherwise, her smile remained to be her shield that hid her inside pain from the rest of the world, though everyone knew there was something wrong, at work at least. She knew that her best friend knew. He was there. Shadows knew that something happened as she came home and fell apart even more. She was alone at that point and the tears couldn't stop the moment she stepped over the threshold of her home. She only hoped that this strange sadness would pass. Much like many things in this world did. She maybe, only wished t would pass now. But life had a funny way of working. She didn't have to exactly agree with it, but she knew she needed to accept it. And she would – seemingly on her own terms. Since that day, it had been, as if she had never met Loki. That she went back to doing her usual. Home, work, home, bed. Though, she didn't shut Guillotine out. If he texted, she would respond and would allow him to talk or contact. There was no sense in punishing him, as he had really nothing to do with what happened – not in her eyes anyways. It seemed in the greater picture, to Loki, it did.
On this night – as stated before, life had a funny way of working itself out. It was a fairly good day at work, and here it was about to end. The clinic at the hospital was closing up, and she had been late as she was in the locker room, still replaying what had happened in her head. Wishing that it was all just a bad dream and maybe things wouldn't be so strange the next time she saw him. But that was a long shot. She had the feeling that it would be awkward and that things between them would be weird. She wasn't entirely too aware of how he would feel or react, but she knew she didn't want to see him. Their last encounter cut like a knife. The thought of his face only hurt. Maybe, seeing him wouldn't be such a good idea if they ran into one another, after all. She should avoid him. Smile and say hi, should he greet her, and be about her way. The way she would have if he was just another stranger that she had just met on the street. The short time they spent together, would have never happened. But it did. Rather than wallowing in the sadness that clung to her and forcing the pain, she left the room and noticed the janitor was shutting out the lights and saying good night to her. She nodded and smiled to him. She had signed out and no longer looked like a nurse. She was in a pair of jeans and a fitted black tank top. Her hair was up in a loose bun. She looked the way she would have looked on any other day.
The young man fiddled with his keys after leaving his cart of cleaning products, headed to the clinic door to let her out. He was a tall, thin male with dark hair and eyes that matched. He had freckles and a dopey smile across his face. ”I have a question Blake. Would you be interested in grabbing coffee the next time we are both free?” Blake stared at him. His name was Stevie. She smiled faintly and shook her head. His face seemed upset for a moment after being rejected, ”I'm sorry...” Stevie only shrugged and smiled. Telling her that he tried. Once the door was open, she went to step out and stopped. The lights that were on were flickering. The weather hadn't been strange lately so there was really no point in this sudden flicker in the electricity. Stevie seemed intrigued by it as well. The two exchanged looks before Blake and him jumped at a sudden crash that rang out from one of the darker halls. There was nobody in here except them! What the hell? The lights in the clinic were on motion detectors, they had gone on when Blake stepped down the hall, but turned off moments after Stevie and Blake had started interacting.
Stevie stepped to his cart and began to grab for his mag light. His eyes focusing back on Blake, ”You should get somewhere safe..” Now, he was playing hero?! Of all the things he could be doing right now – she would have left! But knowing that between the two of them, she was the strongest. Sure, the mag light was a good weapon. However, she would have had an attack that was ready to go with one motion or quick incantation. His mag light was no match for her power. She knew that to be true. She pulled out her phone and was ready to call the police if she needed to. Stevie looked back at Blake and shook his head as he walked towards the room that had lighting. It had to have come from this room, yes! But before he stepped in, something jumped out at him and managed to start grabbing at him. Stevie began to scream as the creature tor into him. Blake ducked behind the clinic desk and hid. She couldn't see anything. She could only hear the ripping and tearing that went on from the creature attacking the young man. Soon his screaming stopped. He must have been dead at that point. The only sounds she could hear now was the creature walking into the front of the clinic. Snarling and growling. The font desk of the clinic was a rounded desk that could have almost been taken as a cubical – if it had high walls. She was up against the back part of the wall where the medical assistants would enter into the area.
Blake panted and trembled with fear. Being brave enough to look back at the remains of Stevie. He looked like a mangled, bloody doll as he laid against the ground. She covered her mouth and tried to let no sound of any kind flow from her lips. She shook her head and found herself pulling herself back into safety. Now, all she could do was fight… or make it to the restroom down that hallway to find the restroom as there was a window she could try to get out of. How was she going to do this without being killed?! Sure, she was a witch! But how could she do this without getting killed?! She was just going to have to take a risk. After counting to ten – Blake got up and took off down that hall, avoiding Stevie's lifeless body. The creature immediately caught onto her and took off as fast as he could, swiping at her heels and sending her to the ground. She hit the floor with a thud and quickly began to crawl into one of the open doors. It was not long until the creature was upon her and drooled onto her back. Blake flipped over and found herself reaching up – a white light emitting from her hand and shooting a ball of energy at the demon. The creature flew back and hit the wall. In the time it took to recollect herself, Blake had crawled into the closer room and slammed the door shut, moving a heavy shelf, ok, pushing one over into the front of the door. Giving the creature a harder time to get in.
Blake's fingers ran frustratedly through her hair, spotting a window that she couldn't get open. Pounding on the glass, ”HELP ME! SOMEBODY! HELP ME!!!!”

Today had been a busy day for the shapeshifter named Loki. From the moment he woke up until the sunset, leaving darkness in its wake he had been running around town doing his usual 'delivers'. It was a bit exhausting but Loki was rather grateful for the rush. Being busy meant he could keep his mind focus on its current task rather than let his mind wander. It had become dangerous as of late for the boy to let his mind trail off on its own. That was thanks to that incident with Blake. Loki hated having to think about the human woman. Loki was never sure why the human kept coming up in his mind since the day that he met her. Blake was a nice girl but she had seemed troubled. That was enough to keep her in his mind at first, he even went as far as visiting her in his cat form out of curiosity. At the time it was nothing more than innocent thoughts, but after their last real encounter those thoughts had started to take a dark turn. It had been a long time since Loki had felt like a piece of shit. He had tried to get close to someone that he shouldn't have, and by the time he realized that he needed to break things off with that person he couldn't do so without hurting her.
He felt terrible for what he had done. Blake was too good of a person to deserve having her heart broken. He knew that what he did hurt her. But what could he have done? Loki knew that no matter what he did at that moment things would have ended badly for the woman. If Loki had stayed and continued to get closer to the woman his battle with Guillotine would damage their relationship. There was no way around that. While Loki could have given up his beef with the hellhound he knew that Gil wouldn't do the same, and so long as Loki was still tied with Azazel he would still have to come face to face with Guillotine someday. The damage that would have done to Blake would have been great, at worse she might try to get in the way to try and stop them, in turn she could end up getting seriously hurt or even worse. Leaving wasn't the perfect solution either, from the way Blake had acted when he tried to break things off he knew that rejecting her would have made her upset. It also didn't save her from losing the one friend she did have. If things continued the way they were going and Gil died by either his or Azazel's hand then Blake would be all alone. There was no right answer to this problem, but all the same Loki had been the one to make the decision. He had chosen what he thought was the lesser of the two evils.
But still despite his reasoning he regretted it. Every time he thought about it all he ever felt was regret and sorrow. Rejecting Blake had opened up his old wounds and started making him second guess every single decision he ever made in his life. Was he damned? It seemed that no matter what Loki did he always made those close to him suffer. His first and closest friend had died because of him. Amalia would have been alive if he had never entered her life, knowing that was part of why he chose to leave Blake behind. He didn't want Blake to become another Amalia so he left, but still ended up making her suffer for it. And what about his other friends? He couldn't deny that he wasn't some kind of burden to Azazel. In the time that they had started living with each other the angel had to come to the feline's rescue multiple times. As strong as the angel was that didn't stop him from getting hurt in the process of trying to save him. Loki was too weak on his own to deal with the trouble that he got himself into, and he would continue to run into trouble. How long would it be until Loki got him killed? Loki was even second guessing his relationship with Weylyn. Nothing bad had happened to the shadow cat yet, but that didn't mean something wouldn't given his past experiences. It was only a matter of time until he got someone killed again.
Loki sighed as he continued walking down the empty road. He wished that he was still working right now instead of making his way home. At least then he could avoid those thoughts. The boy's fears were getting the better on him and he didn't know what to do about it. He had no one that he could turn to for guidance or help. Just like always he was on his own. Left to sink in his own pain and sorrow. That was all his life really was now. No one could have guessed it though by looking at him. He hid his pain behind a smile like he always did. Loki's roommates had no clue what was going on in the little shifter's mind. When he had come home that night he acted like his usual self and didn't say a word about what happened. As far as they knew everything was as it should be, and that was the way it would stay. One day it would become the norm for him as well. Over time he could get himself to stop thinking about her if he tried hard enough. Loki tried to shift his focus back to more mundane things, like what he would do once he got home when he heard something. A scream. But this scream didn't come from just anyone it came from....
“Blake?” The boy's blood ran cold the instant he realized who he was hearing. He didn't even stop to think about what he was doing, or what was going on. The moment he heard her scream he took off running towards her voice. Blake was in danger. He couldn't just ignore her now. But where was she? The shifter's keen ears followed the sound of the woman's cries and eventually lead him to some kind of clinic. This had to be the place that she worked. Loki remembered Blake telling him how she worked as a nurse at some local clinic. What the hell was going on here? It didn't take too long for Loki to find her. After running around the building Loki spotted Blake banging against a window. “Blake!” he called out to her, looking down at the terrified female. She was safe but was obviously distressed. It did not take long for him to figure out why. He could see something banging against the door to Blake's room. Who or whatever it was must be the one after her. He needed to get her out of here fast before it got in. Loki tried to pull the window open without success. The damn thing must be locked!
“Move over.” the boy gestured for her to move to the side before trying to kick to break the window down. The boy put as much force the kick as possible but the damn thing would not break down. “Damn it!' he tried again, and again, but nothing happened. Now it was his turn to freak out. Shit, how was he going to do this? “H-hang on!” the boy looked around him desperately trying to find something to help him break the window. His eyes soon fell on a sizable rock. This was it! Loki picked the thing up and hurled it at the window. There was a loud crash as the glass gave way to the rock. Loki quickly kicked the remaining glass out of the frame before reaching out to Blake. “Quick, grab my hand.”

She didn't even do a double take when she saw Loki. She only continued to bang on the glass more to get his attention, allowing him to know which window she was in. Once he reached her – She felt a little more calm and heard the creature banging outside of the room she was in. Her eyes fell over her shoulder at the door. Before Loki showed up, Blake was prepared to try to fight. Even if it cost her, her life. She couldn't just allow the thing to kill her. Second demon in two weeks. Damn, what was it about her that managed to get her tangled up with these damned things?! The teal haired woman stood back as Loki demanded and shrieked as the creature banged again on the door. She could now see its nails as they dug through the wood on the door. Then when she heard it snarl, Blake crumbled to the floor. Holding her head and began crying in frustration. But why? Moments ago, she heard someone die, screaming and crying in so much pain. She heard someone suffer. She shrieked once more, Loki had gotten the glass broken and when he demanded for her hand she got up and went to him without any sort of thought.
But that ended when the creature got the door open. Forcing itself through. Blake screamed and found her body glowing a light. It was energy. Much like a temporary shield that soon expanded and hit into the demon. Sending it back and crashing into a prep counter. She hurried out the window with Loki and began to move away from the window. But her heart still ached. Stevie was still in there. He was dead. But he was still in there, regardless. She stopped running and looked back at the window that they climbed from and wiped her tears from her eyes, ”We have to go back.” she said softly. Her eyes looking at him. She obviously didn't want to. For the fear of their safety. But she felt she owed it to Stevie. She pulled Loki away from the light outside, getting ready to explain. They had to talk about this, but not in a place where a creature could potentially hear them and then kill them. She knew he would find her stupid. However, she would do it any way. She owed it to the dead man in there to retrieve his body.
”A man died in there… I can't just leave him in there...” She then couldn't hold her composure anymore. Before Loki could say anything, she looked into his eyes, sobbing as she could hear his suffering. She couldn't handle when anyone or anything suffered. She gently held onto his arms and tried to gather herself, ”He was screaming! He was suffering! I can't leave him in there...” She was trembling. She was weak. But she knew that she would go back in, if Loki wouldn't accompany her. She wasn't even asking for that. She wanted to merely go back in to reclaim Stevie's body rather than leave him at the drooling jaws of something that would only do more to his body that only made her sick to her stomach to think about. She whimpered and pulled away from Loki, frantically thinking about how she would do this. Loki created another way for her to get out. But she knew this creature would be waiting on her in that room. The thing was – to create one more way to go in. Then go from there. Soon, as the tears still fell from her body, she made her way to walk around the building. Testing windows to see if she could get a window open. The dead boy had to forget about a window – and bingo!
Blake frantically pulled the screen away and found herself trembling as she pulled the ajar window open a little more. Whimpering as she found herself beginning to climb through. She looked about and found herself licking her lips. There had to be something for her to use as a weapon that way she didn't have to rely on just her magic. Shade had taught her a few things about weaponry. And there it was. A fire ax. She quickly elbowed the glass and watched as it shattered to the ground. She was bleeding, but didn't notice. She picked up the weapon and licked her lips. Feeling a fire inside of her. She wasn't going to go down without a fight. Though, she was happy that Loki came to her rescue – he had to understand. The dead man in here, she couldn't just leave him. Sure, he was dead. But that was not the point. Stevie tried to protect her. But now, she wanted his body to be protected.

It was times like this that Loki truly felt hopeless. Why, why couldn't he do something as simple as break a fucking window? Try as he might he couldn't do it. He didn't have the time to figure out how to unlock the window from the outside, nor did he have the physical strength to break it down. The more he failed the more he began to panic. It was only a matter of time before the creature after Blake broke into the room. Then she would be dead. Gone forever, just like Amalia. Blake would be nothing more than another painful memory he would never be able to let go of, just one more person he couldn't save. No, he couldn't let that happen. He refused to let that happen. The rock had been a godsend for the boy. While Loki didn't have the physical strength to kick the window down he had enough to use a sizable rock to shatter the glass. The window gave way with that one good throw, making the glass shatter instantly. It was easy for him to kick what was left out of the frame to make more room for the girl to escape from. Loki reached out to Blake to help her out when the door finally gave way.
Loki's heart skipped a beat the moment he saw the terrifying creature enter the room. No, no, no, no! This couldn't be happening! Was all his efforts really in vain? He wasn't sure if he could pull her out on time but he tried anyway. That was when something strange happened. There was a sudden flash of light and then a crash. The next thing he knew he had Blake in his arms and her attacker had been tossed back. Loki had no idea what happened just then but wasn't about to stick around to find out. He had only one thing on his mind, and that was getting them both out of there. Without a word the shifter began to run, dragging Blake along with him by the arm. They needed to get out of here and go as far as possible away from this clinic. Once they were safe he could figure out what the hell he was going to do about this later. That was his plan, but things weren't going to go his way.
The boy didn't get too far before Blake suddenly stopped. “What's the matter?” Loki turned to ask her, stopping dead in his tracks. Why did she stop? Now wasn't the time to be standing around, they needed to get the hell out of there. Loki didn't know what had happened back there by the window but he was sure on one thing. That was the monster was not dead. It was stunned for the time being but it was very much alive, and it would only be a matter of time before it got up and started pursuing them again. Did Blake not see that? What made her stop? Soon enough the woman gave her answer. She wanted to go back. “W-what?” Loki didn't understand. “Are you insane? We can't go back in there. That thing will kill us once it gets back up. Why the hell do you want to go back in there for?”
The answer that she gave him was not one he would have expected. Loki just stood there for a moment looking at the young woman in shock. Was she serious? She had to be, the look in her eyes said it all. But all the same he could hardly believe it. “No.” he replied. “We can't go back in there for him right now. It's too late he's already gone.” It was only rational that they gave up on this man. Loki didn't know what kind of relationship Blake had with this dead guy but he knew how pointless this venture was. It didn't matter in the big scheme of things if they went back in there or not. At the end of the day the man was still dead. There was nothing they could do now to change that. He knew that, yet could he really call her mad for wanting to save his body? He did not completely abandoned Amalia's corpse. When he had found her body he had at the very least bury her. That was the last thing he could ever do for her. Not being able to do that would have made him feel even worse over what happened.
Maybe Blake felt the same way? He could hardly fault her for that, but at the same time he couldn't just let her go in there and risk her life just to stave off a bit of regret. “Blake listen to me. This is pointless. What's done is done. He's dead. Gone. There is nothing that you can do to change that. He might have suffered in the moments leading to his death but that is over now. Going to collect him now will do nothing to change that. All you will be doing is going in there to join him. Do you think he'd want that for you? For all you know he gave his life to protect yours and all you are doing is spitting on his sacrifice. It's not worth it.” His words may have been cruel but that was the reality of it. The truth was harsh, but it was the only thing that he had to use to keep her alive. He needed to reason with the woman to get her to come with him otherwise she would just end up dead just like the person she wanted to retrieve.
But Blake wasn't listening. Whether what he said offended her, or she just tuned him out he didn't know but she turned away from him and started running off. “Damn it get back here!” Loki chased after her. Damn it, why wouldn't she listen to him? All he wanted was to keep Blake safe but no matter what he did he couldn't do it. Was he doomed to repeat the same thing with Amalia over again with someone new? Loki found Blake messing around with another window. “Blake listen to me, we have to get out-” Without so much as a glance in his direction Blake slipped back inside the building. “God damn it!” the boy hissed and followed her inside. Why wouldn't she just listen to him for once? Loki had half a mind to just drag her out of here himself. It seemed like things were going to come to that at this rate. He wasn't sure what he should do, if trying to make her see reason wouldn't work he might just have to use force after all. Just thinking about having to lay his hands on her just to get her to safety left a foul taste in his mouth but he had to admit it was still better than leaving her for dead.
No matter what he chose to do though he had to at least make sure the coast was clear first. The last thing they both needed was for that monster to surprise them while they argued. Loki walked away from the girl to head to the door to listen out for any signs of the monster's approach. So far so good, the place they were in was silent. The monster was either still dazed from its incident or it was waiting for them back in the other room. There was still time for them to make it back out and escape. The sound of glass shattering pulled Loki's attention away from the door and back to Blake. The boy let out a hiss when he saw what she was doing. Was this seriously happening. “Would you just stop it.” the boy growled, he took a step towards the girl, his body shaking in anger. Never in his life had he ever wanted to hit a girl till now. Someone needed to smack her back to her senses, but at this point it was probably too late. Loki sighed as he tried to regain some composure. Fighting was pointless now. He couldn't make Blake do anything without causing some serious damage and that was the last thing he wanted. Loki turned his cold gaze back to Blake for a minute.
“You want to be a fool and do this just to drag a corpse out with you then fine. But don't expect me to just let you throw your life away like an idiot. If you are going to do this then you are going to do it my way.” Loki shifted his gaze back to the door. If the monster had gotten up by now there was a good chance that it heard Blake breaking the glass. It could be coming for them right now. If he was going to act it would have to be fast. “Five minutes...give me five minutes to find that thing, grab its attention, and lead down to the other end of the building. That should buy you enough time to get to your friend's body without being seen. You've got maybe another ten minutes or less once you get to him to drag both your and his ass out of here. I don't care how you do it. You can chop him up into pieces to make him easier to carry for all I care. Do what you have to do to get him out in that time. If you can't do it in that amount of time then give up and get yourself out of here.” Loki turned back to face Blake. What he planned to do was insane. He didn't know the layout of the building well enough to avoid running into any dead ends, and he didn't have the strength to take on a creature like that. But he didn't have any choice in the matter anymore.
“In the first five minutes you are not to leave this room. You stay here, stay hidden, and quiet. If that thing catches so much as a whiff of you we are both dead. You would be throwing both your friend's sacrifice and mine back at us for nothing, so listen to me for once in your life and stay here.” Loki didn't even wait for a response from Blake before he left the room and closed the door behind him. He didn't care if he pissed her off or made her upset by what he said or what he planned to do. Since Blake refused to listen to him he had no choice but to do this now. The only thing he could do to help was play the role of bait. But could he do this and live to tell the tale? Loki wasn't all that sure that he could honestly. The moment that he said what he planned to do he already doubted her could make it out of this alive. But he wouldn't tell her that, or even give her a minute to question if he could. He might end up dying tonight for this, but at least this time he would die protecting someone.
“Where are you...” Loki mused as he walked down the empty hallway back where he last saw the monster. Would it still be in this area? Was he even going the right way? He didn't know, but he was about to find out. Thankfully it didn't take long for the shifter to find the right room. The beast was still there too. It was back on its feet and making its way over to the window, probably planning to follow their scent and hunt them down once more. Can't let him do that now can I? in a flash Loki drew out one of his throwing knives and threw it right at the damn monster's back. The beast let out a roar of pain before turning to face the smiling feline. “Looking for me ugly?” the boy purred, “Well here I am. Why don't you come over here and play with me for a bit.” The monster let out an angry roar and charged after him. Loki quickly leaped out of its way. This creature was pretty quick. That could become a serious problem as he tried to drag this out, but he'd have to manage. The boy laughed and ran forward. Now was not the time for doubt. Now was the time for action. “You are going to have to do a lot better than that if you want a taste of me.”

She rolled her eyes as he kept insinuating that she for once listen to him. She then snapped, ”Either get on with it, or I am walking out that door and making as much noise as I possibly can.”
She had a knack for not listening to people, but this time, she was saving the corpse of the fallen man and would eventually be Loki's saving grace to walk away – yeah that part he wasn't aware of. Unless he killed the creature first. Then she wouldn't have to worry about it. But she found herself a hiding spot. Like he wanted. She waited - like he wanted. She did everything like he wanted and stayed silent so not to draw attention away from him and back on to her. Her breathing was heavy and heart wouldn't stop pounding. She hoped Loki was ok and even more so, she hoped that when this was over – she could definitely owe him one. After all, she was risking their lives for a body and nothing else. But there was something about Stevie that made her want to get him back and alive. If there was even a way for him to even come back form the dead by her hand.
Five minutes had passed.
Blake was up and away from the cabinets in the room. With the ax in her hand she poked her head outside of the door and looked up and down the hallway. There were sounds and such, but they were far away. Loki had lead it a safer distance from her. She walked out of the room and held the ax close to her frame with caution. Her breathing was now steady and her eyes slowly opened and closed. She continued walking until she was back in the clinic waiting room. There was nothing here. She saw the blood that the creature had drooled after killing the boy. Her heart dropped but her body felt a sense of relief when she saw the dead boy. He was right where he was left. Motionless and lifeless. Blake licked her lips and trotted over to him and looked him over. She needed to get him out of here and she needed to do it now. Instinctively she grabbed his hands and began to pull him with her down the hall. Grunting and groaning as quietly as she possibly could. Who would have thought moving a dead body would be this hard?! There were times she had to stop and go, this was harder than she thought. She was about to try back up once more, until she lost her footing and slipped backwards onto the floor. The door was still a distance away, as they just entered the hall that she finally came from.
Her eyes fell back onto the corpse and something burned inside of her. She crawled over to him, until she was looking at him face to face. Her hand gently touched his forehead and found herself closing her eyes and leaning forward. Breathing a magical breath into his mouth. She waited a few seconds and found herself growing a bit emotional. She wanted this to work so badly so she had done it one more time. This time, a couple tears fell onto his face and a few slipped into his open mouth. After a moment or two, Blake opened her eyes and looked at Stevie and found herself looking him over. Why wasn't it working? She then felt even more that it didn't work. She rested against him and found herself crying over him. Wishing for nothing more than this man to move and help her get her friend back -

Blake stopped crying suddenly. She thought she felt something. She looked at his hand that rested lifelessly on the floor. Watching his fingers closely. She slowed her breathing until she was almost holding her breath. Was he – his fingers twitched and his arm jerked. Blake smiled and found herself staring at his hand a little more. It was working! Stevie was reanimating! She pushed herself off him and found herself smiling at him. Her eyes watching him until he might as well have been having a seizure. At least, that was how he looked. Blake backed away, afraid of what might happen. There was no sound except for the occasional grunt and groan that escaped his throat. Soon, there was nothing. She made her way closer to him and found herself brushing her hair from her face.
”Stevie… St-Stevie…?” She asked softly. But there was nothing. He was lifeless and motionless on the floor. She bit her lip and was about to give up. Then hands wrapped around her neck and she was suddenly pinned to the floor.

He didn't remember much. Not right now. He just remembered hearing voices. He remembered learning in the nightmare on Elm Street remake that after the body dies, the brain stays alive for seven minutes. Being skeptical – he researched it. Turns out, Freddy knew what he was talking about. He heard snarling and the sounds of screaming. She didn't make it out… Then there was another voice. Then everything went black. What could one say about the afterlife? He wasn't there for too long. All Stevie had been doing was walking around a black abyss and was on the lookout for any sign of life.
”Hello?!”
But nobody called back. Stevie continued to walk until he found some sort of light. Was this the white light crap that people talked about in their near-death experiences? He continued to walk towards it, but there was nothing. It seemed to move farther away the closer her got. Stevie groaned a bit before he found himself being pulled back. What was happening?! That scent… What the hell was on his chest?! That feeling was like a sucking feeling. Like being pulled back by a vacuum. Suddenly, Stevie was laying on the cold floor of the hospital again. There was someone on his chest. She was crying… Was that? Why was he back? What was this gnarly pain? Soon, the weight was off his chest and he was looking right up at a blurry figure that was over him. It was a woman. Her voice almost sounded like she was under the water. But the more and more he came to, the clearer she got, even her face. Once she was clear – it was like something within him snapped. His lunged forward with his hands on her neck. Bringing her to the floor and pressing is weight on her. He didn't know what was going on! Why was he doing this?! She brought him back! Why would be be hurting her?! He was freaking out, and while strangling the girl, he finally began to calm down, but kept his grip on her little throat. Eyes darting around.
”I'm here… I'm here again….” He stopped looking around, the moment that Blake patted his arm. Quickly looking down and pulled himself off of her. There were bruises on her neck and he bit into his bottom lip as the young woman turned to the side and was coughing for air. He gently touched her hair and looked at the ax that laid on the floor. He crawled to it and picked it up into his hands. Suddenly hearing a loud snarl from down one of the halls. He smiled and held his hand out to Blake and pulled her up as they both stood, ”Lets go save your friend.. Hide behind that desk… I'll get it to come down here… and when I give the signal, grab it. Ok?” Soon, he was off down the hallway towards the creature that was slowly prowling its way towards Loki.
The demon hungrily dripped drool from the mighty jaws that were open. Ready to eat the little creature before it. It snapped at Loki, trying to get a mouth full but failed. Growling and snarling as it lunged at him. Clawing at him and cornering the little shifter in a corner. The demon was ready to go for the kill, only to stop and sniff the air. Cigarette smoke? The sound of something dragging across the ground? The demon looked over its shoulder and found Stevie. Smoking a cigarette and dragging the ax along the ground. Stevie chuckled and waved at the demon, ”Bet you weren't expecting that, were you?” He grinned at the creature and flicked the butt of the cancer stick out. Exhaling the remains of the smoke. The demon turned, buying Loki time to react. Stevie pulled the ax up close to him and was ready for an initial attack that would be unleashed. Laughing insanely at the creature, knowing it will lose this battle as Loki had his strength now, on top of his own.

Out of all the crazy and stupid things that Loki had ever done in his life this was by far the dumbest. It was also by far the most dangerous. Playing the role of decoy, or more accurately in this case bait never really worked out too well for the young man. He always ran into a bit of trouble trying to fill that role. The last time he had played decoy had been the first time he had met Guillotine. That job had been simpler then, he just needed to distract the hellhound for a while and then lead him straight over to Azazel. Of course he ran into trouble there. The second he caught Guillotine's attention the demon had threatened to kill and eat him. He was still trying to do so even now. At least back then he had Azazel to protect him. Now he had no one. He was walking straight into the waiting jaws of some other monster with no way out. This was bad, it was very bad and he knew it.
He knew that with each step he took he was walking towards his impending doom. Yet he kept going, he continued walking with his head held high, focusing on finding the beast. This was stupid and dangerous but he had to do it. It was better than the alternative. Letting Blake stumble around on her own and getting herself killed was not something Loki was willing to do just to save his own skin. He couldn't stand to see anyone else that he knew die again after Amalia. If Blake was going to act irrationally then he would have to do the same as well. It was time to be reckless, and he had only so much time to do so. After a bit of searching Loki found the monster he was looking for. It didn't take long to get the damn creature's attention. All he had to do was throw a blade in the beast to grab it's attention, do a little taunting, and run for it. The monster easily fell for the shifter's taunts. He might look strong, but just like Guillotine this monster had a one track mind, and was pretty stupid.
Too bad he was fast. That was the one trait that was going to give Loki serious problems later on. Loki's agility and grace were the few traits that gave him an edge over most enemies. While most of his opponents were physically stronger than he was, he usually surpassed them in speed. That was just enough to get him by in most cases. But this time around he was facing something that was not just stronger than he was, but almost as fast. Loki ran as fast as he could to lead the monster away from Blake, but the monster was closing in on him quickly. Damn it, if this keeps up I might not be able to give her ten minutes. the boy realized. He needed to do something and fast. Once again Loki grabbed for another of his knives and spun around to throw it right at the monster's leg. There was a loud shriek as the blade hit its mark. A wicked smile graced the boy's lips as he turned back around and kept going. It wasn't much but it was enough to slow the bastard down a little bit.
Loki kept going. The blade would not be enough to slow the damn beast down forever. It would still come for him, while that was the point he had to start thinking about the long term goal. He needed to figure out how to stop it. That was going to be a task more difficult than playing bait. This monster was a big opponent to take on his own and he only had so many weapons at his disposal to use. Four throwing knives and one switchblade hidden away on his person. The throwing knives were only good for slowing the beast down and pissing it off as far as he could see. He could try aiming for the head and hope that he could hit the thing's brain and kill it instantly. If that failed he could try slitting its throat, provided that he got close enough. But to do that he would need to corner it first. The question was where he could do it? There were plenty of rooms that he could take a chance at running into but now wasn't the time, they weren't far enough yet for Loki to feel safe taking such a risk, and until he could formulate a more detailed plan he was not going to take that risk. For now he needed to keep going and take it further away from Blake to buy her more time.
Unfortunately Loki's plans were about to take a turn for the worse. As the boy started to gain more distance he ran into a dead end. “Shit” the boy turned around quickly, hoping to get out of the dead end and back on track when the creature entered the hallway. There was no way out, he was trapped. Quickly the shifter ran to the nearest door as the beast charged for him, running into another room. This was it, it had come sooner than he had expected but now he had no other choice but to fight. Loki quickly turned around and grabbed one of his other throwing knives to hurl at the beast, aiming this time straight for his face, but the beast turned just as he threw it, grazing the side of the monster's face instead of hitting dead center. Before the boy could think of trying again or at least moving the beast was on him. The monster swiped at him, slamming him into the wall.
There was a loud thud as Loki's back collided into the wall. The blow was enough to knock the wind right out of him. Just as he finally recovered enough to try and scramble back on his feet the beast lunged at him again. Loki just barely crawled away in time to avoid the monster's massive jaws, but it didn't take long for him to find himself trapped in a corner with the big snarling beast hovering over him. This was it. This was where his life would end. The boy closed his eyes as he waited for the inevitable.I'm sorry Amalia...I couldn't keep my promise after all It was only a matter of time before he would feel this monster's teeth slice through his flesh...or so he thought. The beast hadn't attacked yet. Loki had been so frightened that he didn't notice the cigarette smoke, nor the sound of an axe being dragged against the ground, but as the second passed by and nothing happened to him he finally opened his eyes.
That was when he heard a voice. A voice that he didn't recognize. Loki looked up at the monster only to find it completely ignoring him. He was still alive. Not only that but now he had the chance to strike. Loki looked around him in the hopes of finding something useful when he noticed a row of shelves just above where the monster was standing. An idea quickly formed in his mind. Loki forced himself back onto his feet before transforming and jumping around a bit to get up on the higher shelves to get himself into position. Just as the monster was about to charge at the stranger Loki pounced, turning back into a human just in time for his landing. As the boy landed on the beast he wrapped an arm around it's neck before pulling out his blade to stab it repeatedly in the face.

Blake coughed heavily after Stevie left her at the desk. Her vision fading in and out as she found herself laying against the back of the desk. She wondered about Loki. Hoping he was ok. Hoping that when Stevie got to him, he wasn't too hurt or worse. Soon, she was torn from her thoughts. She was still struggling to breath. Stevie got her pretty good. She was almost certain he didn't mean to. He would have stayed to kill her, wouldn't he? He really crushed her airways and she hoped that she wouldn't die because of this. Then everything she did with Loki tonight was all in vain. The man she wanted to save would have ended her. The struggle to breath seemed to burn her lungs and her esophagus. Her eyes fading in and out. She didn't pay attention to the beat of her heart. If anything she was not going to focus on that. Because the lack of air that reached her brain, total thought was what was harder to do besides breathing. Her eyes began to close as she found herself drifting into sleep. Her eyes suddenly fluttering closed as she found herself falling into a dream.
In this dream she stood in the middle of two paths. One path was Loki. The other was Guillotine. Her vision was darting around and she was trying to keep herself from falling apart. Loki stood, smiling. Guillotine was just looking at her. He had a serious look across his pale face. Loki just continued to smile. Blake shot her vision back to the blond male and she found herself speaking, ”You said you would leave… Why are you here…?” Loki didn't say anything. He only smiled and held his hand out to her. Blake looked at his palm and then up to his face. Guillotine was approaching her, but didn't look vicious. He looked the same as he did. He then spoke. He said that he didn't trust Loki, due to what had happened. Loki's smile remained the same. His hand still out and waiting on her to accept his hand. She approached Loki and found herself tilting her head to the side. Her heart racing and her step picking up before she found herself running towards him. Soon, she went to take his hand, and he pulled her to him. The moment her arms went to wrap around him, he disappeared. Taken back, she turned to see if Guillotine would be there. He was gone too. She was left alone in this abyss.
She felt tears spilling from her eyes and hung her head to cry. But arms wrapped around her. The voice she heard next, it was Loki's. They demanded that she wakes up now. She was not safe. She didn't understand at first. She was about to question him and found herself asking, ”Why…? Why am I not safe…?” Stevie's voice came in, but she couldn't see him. He had stated that they weren't there yet, that she needed to open her eyes, now. She awoke with a start and looked around. Coughing and nearly throwing up with the loss of breath. But she was torn from her thoughts. She heard growling and snarling. She heard something. It was the demon. She turned her head and through the opening behind the desk – she could see it slowly approaching her. Drooling… bleeding and snarling. She didn't make a sudden move. She didn't do anything! She was too terrified to do anything. She backed into the desk and the creature only got closer and closer to her. Readying itself for her. The creature purred at the scent that wafted off her. It wasn't just the roses – it was her fear. It shivered with the scents combined. Creeping closer and closer to the woman. She tried to yell, but nothing would come out. She tried to let them know where she was, exactly. But it would not help the matters. Until the beast roared a sick and twisted roar that could only be laughter. Blake soon closed her eyes and began to cry. Finally something left her throat. The first name that came into her mind.
”LOKI!!!!!!!!” Before she knew it, the beast lunged, sending an energy wave at the demon to keep it away from her.

The moment Loki began to attack, Stevie took that signal to attack as well. It didn't take him long to reach the creature who was screaming from the assault lead on by the small boy. Ax raised above his head, Stevie took a couple hacks at the creature. Swinging with all his might and growling with each swipe. This thing just couldn't die now could it? But it did falter in pain. Stevie grabbed Loki's arm and lead him down the hallway towards Blake. A serious look across his face as he walked quickly down the hall with the blond boy not that far behind him, ”Before you freak out – she's fine. She's hiding in the lobby in the desk area in the center. I have a plan.” Never mind that he was unfamiliar with this boy. However, he recognized the voice when his brain was still alive. He figured this boy might be even a little worried about her. Come to think of it, so was Stevie. There was more than one way to get back to the lobby. Immediately, Stevie grabbed Loki's arm and walked down another corridor that Loki had not been down. Stevie parted his lips to talk.
”There is more than one way to get back to the lobby. That creature might expect us to use the main passage that you used to get back here. So… Lets throw it off to assure ourselves we reach the lobby first.”
The male then cringed. There was a strong feeling in the pit of his stomach. He must have been hungry. This must have been what zombie's felt. Only, he was fine not that long ago. Now here he was, beginning to starve. He only wished that this hunger thing didn't kick in now. His dark eyes were now showing up blood shot. He eyed Loki for a moment and weakly smirked, ”Sorry… I am getting hungry…” The zombie smiled sheepishly and picked up the pace as they headed towards the lobby. The sound of snarling was not too far behind them. As well as the memory of what happened before he went after the creature. There was a woman he had the potential to destroy before he even met Loki. Blake was the one who was going to lose her life at his hand. Because he was still trying to recollect himself from coming back from the dead. He was certain once he found out, that Loki would try to kill him – again. But her friend needed to know.
”We have to hurry up…. When Blake brought me back… I kind of… choked her… I didn't mean to…. I really didn't! I freaked out and started strangling her… when I left she was still alive… I promise you that.” The corpse took off towards the lobby and chose other passages to find their way back. The only way he knew that the demon would have issues with finding them. Hopefully leading them back first. But that fear was met when they reached the lobby. The demon took another route. He was headed towards the desk. What Stevie heard next only sent shivers down his spine. Blake had shrieked. But the moment sent an energy wave at the demon, Stevie reacted. It was as if something in him snapped and he took off at the faltered creature. Before he knew it, he had jumped onto the demon and found himself biting at the creatures throat and tearing into it. The fighting beast threw him away. But no sooner did he hit the floor did he get back up, snapping and biting at the bit. Tackling the creature and continued to bite and devour whatever he so chose to bite out of the creature.
”GET HER OUT, NOW!!!”

The moment that Loki collided with the demon he struck. Wrapping one arm around the creature's neck he brought out his blade and stabbed it in its face. One, two, three, Loki kept plunging his knife as deep as he could into the creature. The monster let out an inhuman screech with each blow he delivered. But this was not enough to stop it. The beast struggled in the boy's hold, flailing and grasping desperately to get the shifter behind him. Luckily the monster was having a difficult time grabbing the boy. Not only did Loki have a strong grip of his opponent, but the newcomer was doing a good job hacking away at the beast, causing it even further pain and misery than Loki could achieve on his own. The monster was helpless, yet it still wouldn't die. Despite the massive amounts of damage both men were dealing to it this creature was still moving. Eventually with enough flailing it was able to throw Loki off. Once again the young man was thrown back against a wall. The impact was just as hard as it had been last time, except this time around his head also took a bit of the blow. It was a lot harder to get up this time around. Loki's body ached from the effort, and the sudden movement caused his vision to start to fade out.
Loki fell back down with a groan. Damn it that hurt, but he had to stand up again. There was still a monster that needed to be taken care of. Loki grasped his knife again and tried to push himself back onto his feet once more when something grabbed him. “Get away!” the boy hissed as he fought against the person's hold. For a moment he thought the monster was the one who was pulling him up, but as his vision began to clear he discovered that it was the man who had come to his rescue aiding him instead. Loki stopped struggling after that, but before he could say anything he was being dragged out of the room and back into the hallway. “W-wait a minute.” Loki said. Things were happening so fast that he didn't know what to do. Who was this man? what was he doing here? And more importantly where was Blake? Now that the beast was gone from his sight his thoughts immediately turned to the female. He had failed, he couldn't keep the monster distracted long enough to ensure her escape. There was a chance that she had made it out already, but if she was still in here somewhere she was in grave danger.
Just when he was about to tell this stranger that he needed to go look for the woman the man spoke about her. “You know about her?” the boy asked, confusion evident on his face. Loki had no idea who this guy was, he didn't know that there was anyone else here that was still alive besides him and Blake. For all he knew this man had just came in because he heard a lot of commotion. There was a chance that he wouldn't have known about Blake when he came in to save Loki's hide. But apparently he did. He must've ran into her first before coming to Loki's aid. “She's in the lobby? Is she alright? Was there a body nearby her?” Why was she hiding at the lobby? He would have expected her to at least be looking for the body she had came for. If not that he had told her to make a run for it. Had she just ignored him again? Another wave of dizziness sudden struck him. “S-stop. We have to stop for a second.” Loki tried to break free of the man's hold. Whether the man let go or not he would falter and lean against a nearby wall. It was getting hard to keep moving let alone stand with his head messing with him like this. “I-I'm sorry....I think that thing got me pretty good back there. Let's get going, we need to get to Blake before that thing gets to her first.”
Loki steadied himself and forced himself back on his feet when the man suddenly mentioned that he was hungry. The boy looked at the stranger feeling confused once again. What the hell was he talking about? “The last thing you should be thinking about is food.” he said. Now that he was looking at the other man he noticed just how bad his injuries were. There were a series of long slashes all over the man's body, the cuts were so deep that he could swear he saw bone and even exposed organs. With the amount of damage his body had suffered and blood lost it was a miracle that this guy was still alive, let alone standing around. “I know I feel like shit right now, but you must be even worse...are you okay?” Loki was starting to doubt how far they could make it. With both their injuries they were not going to be able to fight this monster a second time. Their best course of action was to get the hell out of here. But Loki was not going to leave yet without Blake. “Thanks for helping me back there but you should find a way out of this place and get help immediately. Your body is in terrible shape, I don't even know how you are still able to stand right now but if you don't get treated soon you will die. There is no point in you risking your life here. I will go grab Blake on my own and get out with her. You go and take care of yourself.”
There was no point in someone else dying here tonight. As bad of a shape as he was in Loki would press forward on his own. Injured or not he still had a job to do, and that was to protect Blake. Loki forced himself forward in the direction the man was trying to take him, hoping against hope that he would make it to Blake before the monster did when the stranger spoke again. Loki stopped once again and turned around to look at the man. “What? What do you mean she brought you back?” Loki had no idea what this man was saying, but the man didn't really explain, instead he said something else. Something more concerning. “You did what?” the boy's surprise quickly turned to anger. The shifter took a step towards the human before stopping. “You can explain what the hell is going on later. Right now we have bigger problems to deal with.” Just then Blake cried out to him, the sound of her voice made the shifter's blood run cold. “Blake!”
Loki ran straight for the woman, every step he took made him feel worse but he didn't care. All he cared about was getting over to Blake before it was too late. He didn't hear the man yelling at him, not that he needed someone to tell him what to do at this point. Loki headed straight towards Blake, grabbed her arm, and immediately ran off towards the exit. He didn't stop once to see what became of the man or the demon. He just kept going, holding tightly onto Blake until his body gave out on him. The boy's vision faded on him again, causing the shifter to fall to a stop. It looked like he couldn't move anymore. Still he tried to force himself up, to keep going to take Blake to safety. She was still there with him after all. “A-are you okay?” he turned to ask her as he tried desperately to stand back up again. Or at least he turned to look at what he thought was her. It was too hard to tell who he was with with the whole world spinning around him.

It would have been all over. It would have. If it wasn't for Stevie and Loki. Stevie came thundering in like a starving monster. Ready for his meal and savagely ripped into the beast without as much as a second thought on it. She sat and watched, hearing similar sounds that she heard when this man died. Before this happened, she was cornered and was close to begging for her life. But no. She had someone who wanted to protect her. Her biggest shock was Loki being here and not only fighting for is life, but fought for hers, despite how crazy she was being. However, her crazy payed off this time. Her crazy made her listen after Stevie came back and was ready kill Blake. In fact, Loki would have come back to a dead witch if Stevie didn't snap out of it. That wasn't the case. Soon, she was picked up off they went. She was with Loki. He came to her call. This was seemingly familiar. But… different. What was this?! Why was she feeling so strangely. But she didn't stop to think about it. She only continued to run. But then she stopped. Loki went down. She recognized this; signs of a concussion.
He dropped to her knees and found herself gently patting his cheeks. Her face so close to his that she could almost feel his higher body temperature radiating off of him and onto her. Her eyes remained concerned, ”Loki – Loki! Look at me! Open your eyes!” She said frantically. Her eyes still looking at him. Softly caressing his cheek, more so trying to get a good look at him. She finally began to help him up. Asking him to stay with her. To stay conscious and not fall asleep. She didn't care about herself now. This was about Loki and being ok. Her eyes fell upon her car in the bare parking lot. Looking around and blinking heavily as she found herself ready with her magic if she needed to be. She knew she had to be, due to the fact that anything in this world could be hiding in the shadows. Ready to destroy them. But there was nothing there. They safely made it to her car. She unlocked the doors and found herself helping him into the vehicle. Her eyes staying on him. Gently cupping his cheek to get his gaze onto her, ”Keep your eyes open… please… please...” She said softly. Her eyes staring at him with deep concern in her pale eyes.
Soon, she grew concerned. Where was Stevie? Why wasn't he here yet? Did everything they did – was it all for naught? She bit into her lip and found herself near a panic. She found herself rubbing Loki's shoulder and felt a few tears escape her eyes, ”I'm sorry, Loki… I'm so sorry...” she whimpered and continued to rub his shoulder. Goodness, why did she always have to be so reckless with other people's lives? Not just her own. If Loki died then she would be at a loss. The very thought shook her to her very core. She didn't want to think about losing him. Not that she hadn't felt the pain of losing him. But why was it so painful? That was something she would never understand. At least, she wouldn't understand just yet. She only knew, that she was so sorry for doing this to him. He only wanted her to be safe. Her eyes continued to scan around the building. There was no way Stevie would be dead – again! She also couldn't just leave him here – Loki, that is. She bit into her bottom lip and rested Loki's head to her shoulder. Frantically looking around and ready to cry. It seemed hopeless that there was going to be no sign of him. Until -
She shrieked, feeling something touch her opposite shoulder. Her eyes looked over her shoulder and she found Stevie standing there. Covered in black blood and seemed to gain even just a little color. Rather than asking questions, she helped Loki situate himself and moved her belongings over for Stevie and slid into the drivers side of the car. Finally they were on their way. She decided already, she would keep Loki for the night and with Vincent not having too much of a say in what happened in her house – she would take Stevie in. It was settled. She looked in her rear-view mirror and bit into her bottom lip, ”Talk to him, Stevie… He has a concussion...”

Stevie was left to his own devices once Loki grabbed Blake and lead her out of the building. That was Stevie's time to shine. The hungry zombie had the demon pinned to the ground already. It didn't take long for his teeth to sink into the creatures back – peeling a chunk of hide out of it. A strange, twisted smile remained on his face as he continued to rip the creature apart. Claiming his meal and torturing it like an animal. Finally the demon was dead. Stevie sat in a heap of limbs, organs, and chunks of demon flesh. One couldn't say very much about the torso. Stevie's face was in the stomach of the trunk and was eating away. The zombie was finally enjoying his first meal. When he was with Loki and Blake, he wasn't nearly hungry enough to kill either of them. Although, Loki was starting to look delicious. However, Blake would have destroyed him on the spot if he returned covered in that pretty boy's blood and there being no sign of him. He didn't want to kill him, really. The zombie nature was just taking over when Loki and him were on the hunt for the girl with the awesome hair.
Stevie ripped pieces of flesh from the creature and ate hungrily. He sounded like an animal. The young zombie was determined to eat the organs – that weren't on the floor. He had never eaten organs before – besides sausage. Everyone has had that. But… The heart looked appetizing. With couple punches to the bloody flesh bare ribcage – it finally cracked open. Like something out of the autopsy scene in any alien movie or even in Independence Day. The zombie hungrily eyed a particular organ that made his mouth water. The heart. He reached forward and tore it from the membrane, veins, and arteries that it was attached to and bit into the muscle as though it were an apple. But, as soon as he bit into it, he dropped the heart and grabbed his head. He seemed to be writhing in pain. At least, it looked that way. But he began to bang his head against the near by wall. He was seeing things. Whatever he saw, were memories the demon had. Everything was new to Stevie – this zombie thing. He only wished there was another zombie for him to talk to that Blake knew. Too bad he wasn't aware of what waited for him at Blake's house. Stevie continued to shout and wince. IT wasn't painful as it felt like something was invading his mind. Something he didn't want there anymore. Soon, the memory stopped and he was left alone in the room with the dead creature and himself. Being used to clean up, he saw his cart was still there, untouched. He smiled and began to put his work face on and clean up the lobby. Thing is, what was he going to do with the demon? Probably put him in the large dumpster that was for hazardous materials. And that was what he did. It was time to go!
The zombie fled from the hospital building, via a fire exit. He was covered in the demon's black blood and was hurrying as fast as he could towards the parking lot. Hopefully Blake and Loki didn't leave without him! If they did – surely he could find her home on the employee records in the clinic. Sounds creepy – yes. But Stevie was new at this being dead thing. He didn't want to be left alone. Stevie knew that Blake had to be more than being that girl that looked at charts and was seen escorting patients that needed assistance out of the building. She was more than that girl. She was more than different. Though, he didn't love the girl, he was surely grateful for her abilities. He spotted her car and ran off towards it, once close enough, he touched her shoulder and stopped once she shrieked. He blinked a bit and looked at Loki, who looked like he had seen better days. Once Blake had his spot ready in the back, he was in and they were off. Blake told him Loki's situation and immediately, Stevie began to talk. The first words he chose were, ”She's safe… Do you know who she is?” He was too familiar with concussions. He had one when he was younger. When he was maybe in his early teens, he was skateboarding and was going to show off. Long story short, the trick failed and he hit his head on a bench table. He remembered his mom having him stand up and walk around. Asking him questions to keep him conscious before they went to the hospital. But with Blake – he figured she could do something for him. Like magic. As he waited for Loki's reply, he looked between the two of them, and then nodded in understanding why Blake initially told him no when he asked her out.

Loki knew what was going on, he knew by the time that he started having trouble walking when his savior dragged him off what was going on with him. He had a concussion. He might have been born and raised by healers back in his home world, but he knew enough to know the signs of a concussion when he saw one. Well, suffered them was a more accurate description of his current predicament. He mentally cursed himself for his weakness. In truth it this didn't come about because he was weak, not many people, supernatural or not, could take a good blow to the head and still keep standing. Loki had been thrown around one too many times to not suffer some serious damage. He knew that if he went after the beast that he would get a few bruises here and there at best. At least he didn't get eaten. Knowing that didn't help him feel any better about what was going on. If he couldn't keep on his feet then he couldn't help Blake, and if he couldn't do that he'd rather die. He had already lost one person in his life, and after all the things he had been through, and had put that woman through he couldn't stand the thought of losing her for good. He had to keep going.
When he and Stevie heard her scream he had found the strength to push forward and keep going. He was able to ignore his own body long enough to grab her and run out. He refused to give in now, all he wanted to do was protect this one person and he intended to do so. But for all his resolve and all his talk he couldn't quite do it in the way that he hoped. The shifter didn't get too far before his body finally gave up on him. Not long after he and Blake made it out the door and into the parking lot did he fall. This was it. This was as far as he could go. Loki tried to pull himself back up but only fell once more. He just couldn't make his body move any further. Loki breathed a sad, frustrated sigh as he laid there. At least they were free for the time being. He did it, he pulled Blake out to safety. That was all he wanted to do and didn't care about what happened to him past this point. The boy heard Blake call out to him, telling him to keep his eyes open. “That's...easier said than done.” he smiled up at her. Despite how close she was his vision was still blurry, making it harder for him to make her out properly.
“Don't worry about me...just...go while you still can.” He pleaded with her. He had gotten her as far as outside but that didn't mean that she wasn't still in danger. Loki was dead weight now, for Blake to be truly safe she needed to get as far away from the clinic as possible as fast as she could. For that she would have to leave him behind. Loki knew he couldn't stand anymore, let alone drag himself up and leave this place with her. But would she let him go? Blake was stubborn, she had held onto him the first time that he had tried to leave her, had refused to listen to him and put her own life at risk not too long ago, the chances of her taking off without trying to drag him with her were not too promising, but still he had to try. “If...if your friend can't stop that thing...it will come straight for you...you should go now before it does...I'll hold it off in case it does...” Who was he kidding? There was no way in hell he would be able to fend that monster off in his current state. It would kill him and he knew it. But he was fine with that. Dying to protect someone else wasn't so bad, at least his death would have a purpose. Hell, maybe he would get a chance to see Amalia again.
It wasn't all that surprising that Blake didn't listen. Instead of running away the woman tried to help him onto his feet and drag him off. At first he tried to struggle out of her grasp but he only made his condition worse and was forced to stop. “You're wasting your time.” he said weakly instead. He couldn't fight back but he could still try to reason with her. There was no point in it though, soon enough Blake had dragged him to a car, her car and forced him into the vehicle. Maybe she didn't hear him? He was struggling just to speak after all, the only thing keeping him conscious at all was her voice. Blake was still pleading with him to stay conscious. “I can't promise that...I can try though...” he replied weakly, it was so hard keeping his eyes open at this point, every time he blinked he took a little longer to open them again. It was so tempting to just leave them to close for good but he knew all too well what could happen if he did. He had to try to keep himself awake but it was only a matter of time until he gave in.
Loki reached out to Blake, gently cupping her cheek in his hand to try and console her. She sounded so sad right now, he could see it too, not too well but he could, he could feel the tears on her face too. The boy gently wiped them away. “You don't have to apologize...you weren't the one that knocked me on my head...I was a little careless and am paying the price for it...” Loki knew that he was taking a big risk with his stupid half thought out plan. He was lucky to be alive right now. As always he was only alive because of someone else's sacrifice. Amalia's life paid for his, Azazel had saved him multiple times, and now another person he didn't even know saved him from certain doom. Where was this man? Loki's thought went back on that mysterious bloody man from before. Blake was safe now but what about him? He couldn't just sit here while that man was still trapped inside the clinic with that beast. Loki slowly let his hand fall from Blake's face. “Blake...I can't stay here.. . I got to go back.” Loki tried to move to get out of the car. Blake wasn't the only stubborn person here. The moment that Loki thought of someone else being in danger he couldn't seem to stop himself from trying to move to save them. He was being a fool, there was nothing that he could possibly do for that man in his current state but that wouldn't stop him from trying.
As if geared by his thoughts the strange suddenly appeared beside them. Or at least he thought he did, it wasn't all that easy to see but Loki recognized his voice and his scent, though now the smell of that monster mingled in with his own scent. At least he was safe too. Now that the man was here Blake got the car started and drove off. This time it was the man who sat beside him and talked to him. Loki tried to move his focus on the man's voice now. “Yeah....I know she's safe.” the boy replied. The man asked him a question now, most likely to help the boy stay awake and to make sure his memory was still working. “She's Blake.” he responded back. It was going to take a hell of a lot more than a little bump on the head for him to forget her. Injury or not Loki had a good memory, he probably still remembered a lot of his past even now, though that he couldn't be certain of unless he was asked about it. “I don't know who you are though...But we never met before today...I think...”

A smile graced her pale lips as she heard the two conversing. He knew who she was. He answered the question as if there was no doubt in his mind. It warmed her heart a little more when it came to him. She only wished that he was fine. This only angered her more. Not at him, but at herself. She put him in the face of danger and because she was so stubborn, he felt the need to help her. But in her defense, she could not just leave Stevie behind. She felt leaving him there would be a disrespectful way of repaying him. What Loki didn't understand, was that Blake was sensitive to nature. Stevie's death had a great affect on her. It hurt too much, as she felt his pain. She felt his suffering. She only wished she could have done more for him, but spontaneously bringing a dead man back to life was something she did not expect and was unaware of this ability. It was something random and she even wondered if she could actually do this again. It would not surprise her if she could not. Like some of her new abilities, this one took life on its own.
On their way to her home, she decided that she would keep silent. She wouldn't let Stevie stay by himself, out in this world. He needed help and Vince could help. She didn't know much about the dead. But, the Zombie at home could help with all of this. The silence never ended with her. She kept quiet. This was because she was still not ok with what was happening to Loki and she was beating herself up over her careless actions. She almost destroyed him, and now she was going to have to be the one to save him, which she was. She wasn't sure if she was disrespecting any boundaries, but she only hoped that he would not hate her in the morning for this. She didn't want him to leave this Earth and was hell-bent and determined to keep him here. Losing him was not an option. She needed him to be conscious as the things she would do – the potions, the spells…. He had to be awake for. Not entirely coherent. But he needed to be awake at least for a potion that would help. It was a powerful pain killer and healing elixir. The only thing was, he would feel the way he currently felt until he fell asleep. Which is why she needed her casting magic. She wanted to use her magic to take some of the pain he felt away to give him a comfortable sleep.
She wasn't sure right now, but she was truly starting to believe, she would do anything for him. The thought seemed to scare her, but it felt right at the same time. She didn't think entirely too much about it. As she was willing to do anything for Guillotine. Just aas she was getting comfortable with the thought, she found herself growing warm. She thought back to him caressing her cheek and wiping the tears away with his fingers. She wouldn't admit it, but she recalled her heart pounding after skipping a beat. She didn't want to believe that this feeling was something more, but the more the thought wanted to settle in, she began to see it more and more. She bit her bottom lip as she drove and only wished that this was not true. That this was not real. But his face haunted her mind like a phantom. He wouldn't leave her alone. The day he canceled their friendship – with her not knowing him so well, she should not have fallen apart the way she did. But in fact, it felt as though he might as well have crushed her heart into dust and carelessly blow the remains away from his palm, leaving a soulless witch before him who should no longer feel. It explained why she was feeling off since it happened. A slight attraction. That's it! Maybe it was an attraction that she could no longer escape! That thought only made her feel a little more at ease, but now she only wished it would stop. That she could get over it and move on. But nothing was allowing her to do so. From that moment on, she tried not to dwell on these thoughts of probably being attracted to the man beside her. She kept her focus on the road and drove as safely as she could while picking up the speed to get them into a safe place. Away from the outside world where they could rest and they could for once feel even a little at ease.
Her hand broke from the steering wheel. The one that was closer to Loki. Reaching out to him and taking her hand in hers. Their fingers laced and holding him tightly, yet her touch remained gentle.

Stevie smiled at the male in the front seat. He was right, they never met. Plus, Loki had some unanswered questions that he could recall, but due to the seriousness of the situation before them, they had to temporarily go unanswered. The zombie licked his lips out of force of habit and gave the shifter a smile, ”You're right, we never actually met. I'm Stevie.” He stated. There was a start. Stevie had introduced himself to someone, after he had been brought back. But then there was the subject that he was the dead man on the floor. You can't just tell someone that you were the dead guy o the floor. Cause then there would be the subject of the reanimated corpse and that would mean outting Blake. Unless Loki knew about her already. He wasn't entirely sure just yet. They seemed close enough, now. Loki and Blake. It would surprise him if Loki was not aware of her abilities. But then, he needed to just say it and allow the questions to flow. He was certain Loki was curious about who the hell this guy was and his connection to Blake. The zombie nodded and grinned, ”I am the corpse on the ground that was in the lobby.”
Stevie was grinning this whole time. Blake didn't seem to react. She seemed more focused on something else. That was ok. She had a long night tonight. She needed to concentrate on the road before her as well. And so, Stevie's attention made its way back to Loki. Still smiling. He was also curious if this conversation would be hard for the boy to handle. Right now he was having a hard time keeping his eyes open. What if he might be having a hard time comprehending some of what would be said? But he had to try. At least this would help him stay awake, ”Blake – I don't know how she did it… But she brought me back from the dead… I only remember feeling off… That's why I earlier told you I strangled her.” Given the outside nature of Loki's relationship with Blake, Stevie felt that Loki needed to know what happened for him to pput this woman's life in danger. Which was ironic as the man in the front seat was trying to save her in some way. Had Stevie not come back, there would be a corpse in that hospital, next to the body of the demon. Blake would have been lying there on the cold floor, unconscious. Then everything that Loki was doing for her would have been an effort that would have been unneeded. Then, how would Loki have handled that? Would he seek revenge on Stevie? He was almost certain the blond boy would. Only because the frustration and the hurt and pain of a loss – he was almost certain that this boy would see red. Coming back to the moment of the now, Stevie shook his head and kept his eyes on Loki.
”I wasn't myself. I was suddenly thrown back into my body and when I woke up, I was in a big state of panic. She was right there, so her life was literally in my hands. I wanted to apologize to you. I have no intention of hurting her, and you can trust me.” it seemed strange that he was talking this way. It seemed like he was telling a disgruntled boyfriend of why he hurt his woman. Little did he know that Blake was a free woman. However, he was not dumb enough to see that her heart belonged to someone else and that someone was in this car. He wondered the true nature of their relationship. After she had told him no, Stevie seemed a little more able to deal with a friendship. Blake could not only be useful but maybe a good friend. After all, she did something amazing that he had only heard about in stories and movies. Course, the art of necromancy, he was certain it wasn't necessarily a good thing. From what he read. It seemed the only accurate thing that he read was the fact that the corpse to be reanimated would never be the same again. As it would be a zombie that can talk and think. At least, this was what he knew now. He thought there would be nothing to comprehend. Zombies to him were the creatures we saw in the movies. Not like him. This was a new experience to him. As he was certain it was for her. His eyes then caught Blake's hand. Falling upon it as her fingers lace with Loki's A smile graced his lips and his understanding grew more. He now knew even more that he would have never stood a chance with her.
