Tonight was turning out to be one hell of a night. Tossing and turning Guillotine was having a horrible dream. A loud whimper crept from his mouth as he kicked the blankets off himself. Guillotine flailed around as if he where fighting an invisible entity on Jesse’s couch. In fact he was fighting someone in his dream. That someone was Azazel. A worst case scenario was playing out before him.
Inside of that head of his the dreadful angel had Akeelah at his feet. The pregnant shifter’s abdomen was torn open. Her organs were spilled out onto the ground. Laying there in the pool of blood and amniotic fluid was one tiny, hairless pup. The little thing began to move. It cried out. It continued to cry for it’s dead mother when Azazel stepped on it. Feeling it’s bones crush it’s cries soon turned into screams. That sudden shriek had caused Gil to go mad with rage. Guillotine thought he was going to be sick. He wanted to kill the angel more than anything. Azazel had slain Akeelah with his signature blade. He’d struck down his mate with the very weapon that Gil loathed so much. That itself added insult to injury. Without so much as a second thought Guillotine charged. With tears in his eyes he was hell bent on destroying the angel. Just as he was closing in Azazel raised his blade to the sky and brought it down. That’s when everything went black.
Guillotine woke with a start. The long jet black hair on top of his head clung to his sweaty face. Panting heavily the hound shook his head. His fear filled eyes then looked around. He was expecting to find Akeelah and Azazel. However, sitting around him was the furniture that sat Jesse’s living room. He was the only one there. It was only a dream. Guillotine told himself as he tried to calm down. Still, that dream felt a little too real to him. Siting up the hound rubbed his face. The smell of Akeelah’s corpse and the pup it was all a bit too much. He took a moment to calm down. After a dream like that there was no way he was going back to sleep tonight.
Groaning a bit the beast got up and wandered over to Jesse’s room. He wished to see if his roommate was awake. If he was the poor human was about to get an ear full. Carefully opening the door Gil peered inside. To his dismay the human was asleep. Looking over at the alarm clock it read ten twenty five. It was still early. Cursing to himself Gil quietly closed the door. Now what was he going to do? He paced around the living room thinking of something he could do to pass the time till morning. He needed something to get his mind off his dream. The male pondered some ideas. He could always play some of Jesse’s games. Then again, he was never really good at them. There was a chance he could break one of the games if he got too pissed off at loosing. Not only that but he could possibly delete an already saved game. God, that would be horrible. The hound knew Jesse’s other job had something to do with playing games so he wouldn’t want to mess that up. Maybe he could go for a walk? Ah yes, some fresh air would do him some good.
Slipping on a blue shirt, a jacket, and some pants the male wandered over to the counter. He would leave Jesse a note. Gil wasn’t the best when it came to writing. His handwriting wasn’t too good. Hopefully Jesse could decipher his work and tell that Gil had gone out for a walk. Next the male grabbed his phone and a pack of cigarettes before heading outside. Once out in the cool night air the beast began to limp around town. It had been quite some time since he’d last had a chance to do this. Taking a trip around his old territory brought a smile to Gil’s face. He stopped to mark buildings with his scent from time to time. After lighting up a cigarette he took a long drag from it. Walking out here was a pretty good decision on his part. This night was turning out to be better than he had thought. A little walk on the town was just what he needed.
After a long trek Guillotine came across Spoon’s neighborhood. Once those forest green eyes of his spotted the entrance the male’s heart began to beat faster in his chest. Bits and pieces of that dreadful dream played back in his head. Usually Gil would forget his dreams entirely by this point. However this one seemed to have left a mark on him. Maybe he should pay Akeelah a visit? It would help put him at ease. Guillotine wouldn’t wake the pregnant woman up. He just wanted to see if she was okay.
Upon arriving at Spoons place Guillotine’s forest green eyes scanned the area. It didn’t take long for the hound to decide that he wanted to take a look around. The male attempted to transform. His body began to cover in flames only to have the embers fizzle out. Guillotine growled to himself. His medication was still in his system. Well, suppose that wasn’t entirely a bad thing? He would get the chance to finish his cigarette at least. Taking another drag of his cancer stick Guil sniffed the sides of the large home before marking it with his own personal scent. He continued to pace around the house like a creeper. He picked up all sorts of interesting smells. Though, he intended on covering them up with is own scent. Looking around the beast lifted his head and gazed up at the windows. All appeared to be dark. Clearly the residents were asleep. Gil was unsure which window lead to Akeelah’s room. Though, it didn’t really matter if he knew or not. There was no way he was going to be allowed inside. With a yawn Gil continued to pace around the home. He chased off a stray raccoon or two but all and all there was nothing else around. Despite his surroundings being pretty damn calm he was still keeping an eye out for potential danger. Gil would continue to walk around the house as if he were guarding the damn thing. Just to calm his nerves Guillotine decided he would play guard dog for the rest of the night.

Akeelah couldn't sleep. From the moment she had crawled into bed sleep had eluded her. She had no idea why, her body felt tired but her brain was far too active to let her fall asleep. She had tried her best though, she forced her eyes shut hoping that eventually she would fall asleep, when that didn't work she tried reading, in the end that didn't work and she resorted to staring up at the ceiling instead. Nothing was working. The shifter sighed, if only she had someone to help her sleep. Normally Raffe's presence helped her go to sleep when she was having trouble, but the other shapeshifter had left to go wander the woods a few hours ago and wouldn't be back any time soon. She would have spent some time with either Nova, Spoon, or some of her other roommates if anyone was awake. But sadly she was alone tonight. After what felt like an eternity Akeelah forced herself out of bed and out of her room. There was little point in laying down in bed if she wasn't going to get any sleep, she might as well go and do something.
But what would she do? That Akeelah had no idea yet. She didn't want to just lay on the couch and watch TV or play anything in case she woke the others up. She would have gone to the forest if Raffe didn't already leave. Raffe was extra protective of her since he had come back, the wolf shifter wouldn't be happy to find her sneaking out of the house alone, especially when she was pregnant. Besides, she didn't have enough energy to bother journeying too far away from the house. She would be stuck here for the rest of the night. Oh well, she would find something to do eventually. Akeelah headed down stairs to the main floor, moving as silently as she could so she wouldn't wake the other residents. Akeelah moved around in the house for a bit, still unsure of what she should do to pass the time when she looked out in the backyard. Maybe she should go outside for a little bit after all? She did miss being able to go outside, while the backyard was no forest it was better than indoors.
Grabbing a pair of shoes Akeelah slipped out into the backyard. The cool night air was both chilling but nice. Being outside even if it was only two steps outside that god forsaken house did feel nice. Akeelah wandered around in the back, wondering if she should wander a little further out when she heard footsteps just outside the gate. They were faint, easy enough for a human to miss, but the shifter's keen ears picked up on it easily. Was it Raffe? Did he come back early? Whoever it was, was definitely heading near the back entrance, it had to be Raffe returning. Akeelah headed towards the gate and opened it. “Back already Raffe?” the girl spoke as she opened the gate to let her friend back in but the person she saw wasn't Raffe but- “Gil? What are you doing here?”
((Sorry for the lame ending there x.x))

The cool night air felt good for once. Perhaps this was because Gil was actually working up a sweat pacing around Akeelah’s new home like some crazed stalker? He continued to wander around. Exploring the place for the most part and keeping a mental note as to where everything was. The male stood by the gate now, taking a little break from his adventures. He looked off into the distance towards the city and took in a long drag off his cigarette. Soon his ears twitched. There was the sound of footsteps coming towards him. The hair on the back of Guillotine’s neck began to stand on end. Was it Azazel!? was his dream comming true? With his brow furrowed the beast spun around just as the stranger opened the gate. Guillotine grew tense. He was ready for a fight. Guillotine’s angry expression quickly changed to surprise as soon as he saw who was standing there. It was Akeelah. Man, the female nearly scared him half to death.
“A-Akeelah!?” Guillotine cocked his head to the side and looked at his ex-mate. The female looked just as surprised as he was. What was Akeelah doing out here all alone? The woman was pregnant shouldn’t she be inside where it was safe? Soon enough the shifter’s question broke the hound from his thoughts. He looked Akeelah in the eye. His heart started racing in his chest. Should he tell her about his dream? No, the male didn’t want to worry her. Well, he couldn’t lie either. Sucking up his pride the hound looked down and tapped some ashes from the end of his cigarette. “I-I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” This wasn’t a lie. This was the main reason why he had come to this house. The hound the gave the feline a nervous chuckle. He then forced a smile onto his face, trying desperately not to seem as nervous as he was. The hound hadn’t been expecting to see her tonight. After a moment he gained the courage to look back at Akeelah. “I had the sudden urge to play guard dog and maybe it’s a good thing I did.” He replied as he looked around the woman. Gil seemed paranoid as he looked about the yard. Almost as if he where looking for Azazel. Once he convinced himself that the two of them were alone he looked back down at Akeelah. “I don’t think you should be outside in your condition, Akeelah.”
Thinking back to earlier the hound had realized that Akeelah had mistakened him for Raffe. Gil’s heart sank. The wolf was able to be closer to his mate and pup than he was. It was a shame. Raffe was surely being used as a pillow again. Just the thought irritated Guillotine. He'd already had it out for Raffe but now he seemed to loathe the shifter even more than before. This just didn't seem far in his eyes. Though, having Gil separated from Akeelah was for a very good reason, and Gil knew it. It would be a shame if he were to kill her as well as his unborn child. With a sigh he said, “So I guess Raffe is living with you now, huh?” The beast didn’t sound angry when he said this. Rather his tone was a bit somber. Well, Gil shouldn’t feel totally bad. There was one upside to Raffe looking after Akeelah. At least Guillotine could be sure that she would be well looked after and protected. Speaking of which, where was the shifter now?
The beast turned his attention down to Akeelah’s stomach. It was very clear now that she was pregnant. No one could possibly mistake that large bulge for anything else. Gil swallowed hard. The poor woman had blow up like a balloon since their last meeting. The hound wondered if it hurt her. And most of all he wanted to touch her stomach. Just under the skin was a pup right? Gil wasn’t sure why he wanted to feel her stomach. Perhaps he yearned to be closer to his pup? For whatever reason Guillotine would keep his hands to himself. He had yet to earn that privilege. Besides, touching her now could prove to be a bad idea. Especially since the last time Gil touched Akeelah the hound nearly killed her.

Gil was the last person that Akeelah expected to see when she opened the backyard gate. It had been awhile since she had last seen her ex mate period. Ever since Raffe showed up the hellhound had made himself scarce. Though that couldn't be helped, with Gil and Raffe's history, what had happened when Gil showed up unexpectedly, and John limiting the hellhound as a result, Gil didn't have much control over how often he could visit. Whether that was a good or bad thing Akeelah didn't know. Despite everything that happened between them she just didn't know what to think about the hellhound anymore. He had broken her heart, and killed her former self, leaving her nothing more than an empty shell that could barely function. Yet here she was still talking with him. Things were so complicated that she hardly knew what she was feeling anymore.
At least one of them knew what they felt. Guillotine seemed just as surprised at her presence as she was his. She could see in the way he looked and acted that her sudden appearance had caught him off guard. When he answered her question she looked a little skeptical. “You wanted to see if I was okay....from all the way at the back of the house...in the middle of the night.” What he said didn't sound too convincing, yet the way he looked when he said it did give a ring of truth to what he was saying. Akeelah had known Gil long enough to tell when he was being honest. But not enough to know that he slept with other women behind your back a part of her thought bitterly. Maybe she was too quick to assume that he was being honest with her. It wouldn't be the first time that Guillotine had lied to her. What he was doing now seemed fishy on the surface. Who wouldn't think that if they saw him stalking around their house so late at night?
Guillotine was sticking with his story though. Gil went on to explain that he felt like playing guard dog for the night, causing the leopard shifter to cock her head to the side curiously. “What makes you think I need a guard dog? I already have enough of those as it is. Between Spoon, Nova, that biscuit, and now Raffe I can hardly turn around without someone breathing down my neck.” the girl rolled her eyes at his next statement. “Really now, do you expect me to stay locked up inside like some caged animal all the time. Its bad enough that I am not allowed to go wandering too far in the neighborhood, but I can't even go out in the backyard too? I need to go out for some fresh air from time to time you know. If I don't get to stretch my legs or at the very least transform every once in awhile I will go insane.” Akeelah didn't know why she was suddenly venting to Gil like this. All the extra precautions she was forced to take by everyone did not help her with her mood. Having Gil tell her that she should be inside instead only fueled her anger. Akeelah let out a frustrated sigh. “Relax Gil, I was keeping to the backyard tonight. Its not easy for me to sneak off for long trips to the forest like I used to.”
It was a relief to have Gil change the topic to Raffe. Though from the look on his face it wasn't something that cheered him up. That wasn't much of a surprise. Raffe and Guillotine never liked each other, both men were possessive of her, and since Akeelah had liked them both that had only made matters worse. It was hard to keep both men from killing one another. At least now she had some people to help keep that from happening for her now. “Yeah he does.” Akeelah look away as she spoke, not wanting to see the sorrow or rage in Gil's eyes. “This is the safest place for him to be right now, even if it wasn't I doubt he would be willing to leave. Besides, I missed him. Its nice to have him back.” she would keep the fact that they shared the same bed again to herself. Things were too complicated between the two and she didn't want to add anymore fuel to that feud. “Speaking of which if you plan to stand guard still you should keep yourself well hidden in a few hours. Raffe went off to the forest for awhile, he will be gone for a good while but I am sure if he sees you wandering around he won't like it. You wouldn't want him or the others to find out you are here.”

Looking Akeelah over the young hound couldn’t help but to smile. There before him stood the very woman he loved. Quite frankly, the only female he truly cared about on a mate-type level. However, even this did not save her from the hellhound’s nasty temper. Gil thought back to the time they spent together before that dreadful incident in the woods. The hound might have thought that was what truly ruined their relationship. But cheating on Akeelah was just as bad, trying to kill her was just the final nail in his coffin. He tried his best to relax and push those foul memories out of his head. Their relationship before that fact was perfect to him. All he needed was to think about the good times they had and he wouldn't feel as guilty as he did now.
It appeared that Akeelah hadn’t really changed much, aside from the belly of course. This minor obstruction did not change Guillotine’s view on her. She was still a lovely woman that he wished he had taken the time to care for. Akeelah’s attitude didn’t seem to be gone either. The female stood firm, even in his presence. Guillotine should have known better to think that the woman would run from him. Akeelah wasn’t the type to do that. At least, not that he knew. When the hound spoke Akeelah looked rather puzzled. Gil’s cheeks flushed as she gave him that look. Damn, did she not believe him? He looked away from her. Appearing as if he had gotten caught while telling a lie. His statement had be true, but it wasn’t the real reason why he was here. “Y-Yes, um, I wanted to have a look around your new place too.” The hound replied scratching the back of his head. The hound tried to seem cool about it. He could tell by Akeelah's tone that she was skeptical. God, shouldn’t he just tell her about his dream? No, he would keep that little tidbit for himself.
When Guillotine spoke of play guard dog Akeelah didn’t seem to like it. The hound’s heart sank. He looked at the female and said, “I guess you are right...” Gil really didn’t have any business telling Akeelah to stay inside. He, himself, had gone through that having to stay inside of the house twenty four seven phase and he did not like it at all. He could sympathize with her on that part. “I just don’t want you or the pup getting hurt.” The hound took a drag of his cigarette. The smoke drifted from his mouth as he spoke, ”I guess I should know you are more than capable of taking care of yourself.” The hound then grumbled. No, he wasn’t about to give into this so easily. “Still, It’s hard not to worry, ya’ know?” Gil should have known Akeelah wasn’t a delicate little flower. The female was able to transform into one of the most dangerous animals on the planet. The hound felt a bit relieved to know that he wasn’t the only one looking after Akeelah. Though, this did pose a problem. Akeelah didn’t seem fond of the extra attention. The hound sighed. “I can relate. The PIDA did the same to me when I first started to live with Jesse.” A light chuckle crept from his lips. It appeared the agency was treating him and Akeelah the same. How ironic.
Hearing Akeelah speak about Raffe caused Gil’s chest to tighten. Whether it be from jealousy or just sheer hatred for the guy Gil did not know. All he knew was he wasn’t too fond of the idea of Raffe being Akeelah’s pillow again. Though, this house seemed to be the only place Raffe could call home. Gil could recall the shifter saying something about his human parents abandoning him but Gil did not care at the time. Who needed human parents anyway? Gil would have started criticizing Raffe if it hadn’t been for his medication calming him down. He had decided to keep his words to himself for once. Akeelah soon mentioned that sneaking off wasn't as easy as it used to be. Gil could believe that. Moving around with that belly of her's must have been frustrating. Guilt began to mess with Gil's head. He knew what it was like being stuck inside of the house all day. All of this was happening because of him he wanted to help Akeelah out. But what he said next was a bit of a stretch. "If you want I can take you out for a walk. Just so you can stretch your legs." The beast was sounding a bit too desperate now. But deep down he wanted to make it up to Akeelah. Soon he turned a bit awkward. "I-I can't transform today, even if I wanted too. So you won't have to worry."
Akeelah was quick to tell Guillotine that he should be careful about walking around outside of her place. Raffe could come back soon and it wouldn’t be a good idea to be seen by him, or anyone else in the house. Guillotine didn’t have any business being there. Lucky Raffe was still out hunting or else there could possibly be a fight. It would cause unneeded stress on Akeelah if that were to happen. The beast sighed, “I will be sure to keep that in mind.” It would really suck to be caught by the shifter now. Guillotine could not transform tonight. Looking down at the woman Guillotine’s gaze moved over to his stomach. He continued to look at her baby bump for a moment. “Does it hurt?” The male then looked Akeelah in the eye. “I just hope the pup isn’t giving you too much trouble.”

Guillotine was acting rather strangely Akeelah noticed when she questioned his reason for being out here. The whole scenario seemed a bit sketchy really. Here Gil was playing the role of guard dog in the middle of the night. There was no reason for him to keep tabs on the house. While Spoon and Nova weren't the most competent of the agents that Akeelah had dealt with so far they were a decent amount of protection when the situation called for it. Besides those two their other PIDA friends kept tabs on her, The man the others called Totalbiscuit was the other agent she had to deal with, it was he who brought her here in the first place. He said that this would be the safest place to keep her in, here she was safe from the rest of the PIDA organization, and for a time Guillotine when they had still considered him a threat. He had been right too, this place was safe. Now with Raffe here it felt even more secure. All of the dangerous elements in Akeelah's life were all wrapped out too. The PIDA finally dropped her case so she didn't need to fear running into other agents any time soon.
As for Gil, well, as far as the agents were concerned he wasn't a threat anymore. There was still a part of her that wasn't sure about that. Gil hadn't been much of a threat to her when they had been together. Sure he had his temper but it was rare for him to direct that rage to her. But the few times he did she had suffered for it. She wouldn't be in the situation she was in now if it wasn't for that. It was not an easy thing to forget. Even now with him before her as harmless looking as could be Akeelah had a hard time forgetting that. Did Gil really change? Was he really safe? Perhaps that was why she seemed so skeptical of him at first. It seemed so odd for Gil to be looking out for her well being when she already had so many people doing that for her. There was no way that any of the other agents knew either. Most of them were asleep at this hour so maybe the one he was living with didn't even know that he had come here. It was against the rules for Guillotine to come by the house without at least a heads up. So what was he risking getting caught out here for?
“If you wanted to take a look at the house there is nothing stopping you from doing so in the day time. Besides, haven't you already seen the place already? This isn't your first time coming over you know.” The girl said. She really was questioning his motives. It didn't feel like Gil came all the way over here to try to kill her again, but it was plainly obvious that he was here for a reason. There wasn't a malicious or angry vibe coming off of him, but there was a hint of genuine worry in his voice. Was he afraid that something was going to happen to her? Why should he care? You are nothing more than property to him. that dark thought surfaced in her head once more. It was still hard to shake that female hellhound's words out of her head. Whatever she meant to Gil wasn't what she had believed before she found out he had cheated on her. It was those very thoughts that made her second guess what she wanted to do about Gil. She knew that she couldn't cut him out of her life, but it wasn't easy to form any kind of relationship with the male at all.
It was thoughts like that that made her vent the way she did right now. Having Gil tell her that she needed to be more careful about going outside did not sit well with the girl. It was bad enough that she had been restricted for so long to the house, but having the one that was part of the reason she was even here in the first place set her off. Her remarks seemed to have struck the hellhound, but not enough for him to voice his concern for her and the unborn baby. “Getting hurt how exactly?” the shifter asked him. “Last time I checked I didn't have any enemies that would want to hurt me or the cub. The only people I had to worry about was the PIDA and TB took care of that a few days ago. I am also not clumsy or stupid enough to get into an incidents that might endanger my life or the baby's so I should be just fine...unless you aren't telling me something?” Was Gil not telling her something? There was a chance that he wasn't. This concern of his seemed too suspicious for her not to notice. There was no reason for him to feel that way assuming that he really did care about her. Then again, maybe it was more concern for the cub than it was for her. Either ways it felt fishy.
While Akeelah was venting Guillotine brought up a strange proposal. It was obvious that Gil hadn't thought what he was saying through, he probably was just saying what he did in an attempt to make up for getting on her case earlier. Should she take it? Akeelah wasn't too sure how she felt about that. She knew that Gil wasn't likely to attack her again, at least not like this. She could trust him that much, but that wouldn't change the awkwardness that she would feel doing it. The relationship they once had had died in her eyes, and she wasn't sure how much of a nice relationship they could have. She still doubted Gil so much that she had a hard time sometimes considering being his friend even if he had changed. Would a walk change that? And what about her guardians? Akeelah looked back at the dark and quiet house. There were no signs of activity going on in the house, everyone was still asleep, but things could change quickly. Akeelah's 'bodyguards' were not the most predictable of people. There was a chance that they could wake up and spot Gil. If that happened that could end badly.
“Do you really want to?” the girl asked. In the interest of keeping them both out of trouble Akeelah was willing to go on this walk if it meant keeping Guillotine out of sight. If Spoon or Nova did wake up in the middle of the night they weren't likely to go barging into her room and notice her missing. But that wouldn't stop them from seeing both her and Gil out the window if they decided to go downstairs. It was best if they moved somewhere out of sight before then. “If you really want to then fine. I could use a bit of time to stretch my legs. I need something to do to pass the time since I can't seem to get to sleep.” Akeelah stepped outside of the backyard and silently closed the gate when Gil asked her an odd question. The girl was confused at first by what he was asking until she noticed where the hellhound was looking. “Oh this?” she asked as she gently pat her stomach. “No, it doesn't hurt. Its more of an annoyance than anything else.” Akeelah explained. “Sometimes the little guy or girl moves around so much that I can't sleep, or concentrate, sometimes they end up kicking my bladder so I have to rush to the bathroom. Moving around is a bit of a pain, but the weirdest part is the cravings. I swear I have never had such strange meat cravings before. Sometimes I just want a piece of beef, but other times I crave things from back home, like gazelle, or zebra, the worst part is when I look at some of the pets my roommates have. I don't like going near the dogs because I start wondering what they taste like, and I can't even go anywhere near Spoon's pet horse without picturing chewing on its tasty hide.”

A twinge of nervousness began to overcome Guillotine. Akeelah knew something was up. Gil had been around the shifter long enough to tell when she was growing suspicious. She was rather keen to his emotions. Maybe he should just suck up his pride and tell her the real reason why he was out here? Conflicting emotions surged through Guillotine’s head. He was torn between telling his ex the truth or lying to her just to keep her from worrying. His paranoia wasn't the only trouble he would be facing tonight. There was a lot to lose by coming here. If Jesse just so happen to be up and checking the tracking device Guillotine would be screwed. Hell, if Akeelah’s caretakers got up and looked outside the window both he had Akeelah would have some explaining to do. Still, Guillotine was willing to take that chance. Gil would be pulling his hair out of his head if he didn’t make the trip down here to see Akeelah. That dream of his had pushed him past his breaking point. In the end maybe that was a good thing?
Standing outside with his ex Guillotine was pleased with his decision to come here tonight. Not only was he getting a chance to protect the smaller female but he was actually getting to talk to her too. The strange thing was that Akeelah was actually carrying on a conversation with him. This little bit amused the hound. Who knew Akeelah would still be talking to him after all they’d been through? The female didn’t hesitate to speak to the hellhound. Though she was angry at least she was talking to Gil at all. Akeelah could have always closed the gate on him and walked away. This was something to be thankful for.
When Akeelah questioned Guillotine the hound sighed. Nothing was getting past this girl. He took another drag of his cigarette before saying, “If I came during the day I would get caught.” The male then chuckled. ”Yeah, Yeah I know. I had to mark my territory around this place. I didn’t get to do that last time.” Finally finishing his smoke the hound dropped the smoldering cigarette to the ground and stamped it out. Gil then slipped his hands into his pockets and continued to talk, “Besides, I’m not too fond of being escorted over by Lord TB. I like to come on my own terms.” This was a clever excuse, though the feline was probably too smart to fall for it. As Akeelah continued to pressure Gil the hound rolled his eyes. It almost felt like he was back in that interrogation room. Well, suppose he should be lucky Akeelah was giving him the time of day? Soon Akeelah spoke of enemies. When she said this Guillotine’s face almost turned completely white. He began to fondle the cigarette and the lighter in his pocket. Yet another craving was hitting him. For the moment he would try to fight it. Gil looked Akeelah in the eye. It pained him to say this but it had to be said. “You may not have any enemies, Akeelah...but I do.” Now Guillotine was certain this conversation wasn't going to end well. The hound wanted to end this on that note. He looked away from Akeelah for a moment. Soon the woman said something that pricked the male up almost instantly.
Guillotine had asked Akeelah if she wanted to go for a walk with him. When the feline answer the male with a question he said. “O-Of course! I would really like that.” Guillotine's heart nearly skipped a beat when Akeelah walked out of the yard and closed the gate behind her. He was so wrapped up in getting closer to Akeelah that he had forgotten about the dangers this little trip could cause. Raffe was still out there. It would be a shame if they were to run into him. That fear was set aside due to Gil’s excitement. So she was actually going to go on a walk with him. Guillotine was ecstatic! Thanks to his medication the beast wouldn't jump for joy anytime soon. He was happy but didn't really show it other than grinning from ear to ear. Not only was Akeelah talking to him again but she was going to walk with him too. How lucky could he get?
When the topic shifted to Akeelah’s baby the female looked puzzled for a moment. She was quick to catch on though, as Gil was looking down at her stomach. The shifter went on to explain the perils of having a child growing inside of her. It sounded horrible to Gil. “Heh, it isn’t even born yet and it’s already starting to act like a little devil.“ That sinking feeling began to set in again. Akeelah wouldn’t have been in this situation if it wasn’t for him. If only he would have known something like this could happen. Despite being plagued with a hellish parasite Akeelah seemed fine with it. Just the fact that she was keeping the child always confused Gil. Akeelah must have had her reasons. And deep down Gil was pleased with her decision. When the female mentioned her cravings the hound laughed. Who knew a child could do this to a woman? Akeelah was really something else. “Maybe you should just eat them? I heard horse taste delicious. I’m sure dog is pretty good too.” He teased, as he began to walk at Akeelah’s side. Soon he leaned over and looked down at Akeelah’s baby bump. “Mind your mother, Pup. Do you hear me?” The beast growled playfully. “Stop giving her a hard time.” Siting up the hound gave a light chuckle. As they walked the hound began to feel guilty again. Man, he really needed to tell her what was up or else she wouldn't drop it. With a sigh the hound would skip back to their previous conversation. “L-Listen, I had a dream that an enemy of mine killed you and our pup. That is why I am here. I guess I got a little paranoid.” The male then gave the female a sorrowful looked. “I just wanted to see for myself that you were okay…”

Nothing was getting past Akeelah tonight. The shifter may have been caught off guard by Guillotine's presence at first, but as the two started talking her suspicions got the better of her. Something was up. That much was clear from Gil's actions. Gil had always been an impulsive, act before you think kind of person. That was why the others, mainly TB had been so strict on how Guillotine came to visit her. Once Gil knew where she was if left to his own devices, nothing could really stop him from coming when he wanted to, or even dragging her away with him like he had tried to do once before. But with the PIDA breathing down his neck Gil was forced to behave. Well, most of the time. He had made a surprise visit before and that didn't turn out well. Gil didn't learn lessons easily but even then she thought he would be more careful on what he did around her current living place. Yet here he was, sneaking around the back and 'guarding the house'. Something had to have happened to make the hellhound compelled to risk getting punished again for pulling another surprise visit. But what?
Gil was not going to let her in on the real reason, at least not yet. The hound was still trying to play it cool, telling Akeelah that he didn't want to follow the rules because he liked doing things on his own terms. Akeelah rolled her eyes at him once again, somethings never changed. “I didn't mean sneak in during the day, I meant why don't you just ask to come over during the day. Is it that hard to ask the guy you are living with to bring you over? Last time I heard you and that Jesse guy get along pretty well. He wouldn't have a problem bringing you over. It would be better if you played along for once. You do know the only reason everyone is so strict with you is because they don't trust you. You breaking the rules again and again only makes things worse.” she should know, a part of her still didn't trust him. There was nothing stopping Gil from hurting her if he still intended on doing so. TB had ensured her that he wouldn't let that happen but Akeelah was no fool. Gil could kill her and her roommates before any of the PIDA agents even knew what was going on, sure they could bring him down later for it but that wouldn't save her if she was already dead.
She didn't even know why she was standing here talking to him for if she couldn't trust him. It still amazed her that Gil even wanted to see her at all. Akeelah wasn't any different than any of the countless females that he had been with. Gil didn't care enough about her to stay faithful so why did he care when she left him? Was it because he considered her his property? Was it for the taboo aspect of their relationship? Or something else? She didn't know, but whatever it was Akeelah didn't care to find out. What was the point in thinking about this stuff anyway? Even if Gil was trying to reclaim her she wouldn't let that happen. Their relationship had died a long time ago, and for her own sake she refused to revive it. But there was still something there, Akeelah couldn't really deny that fact. Whatever it was, was strong enough to keep her standing here and probing Gil for some real answers. The moment that Akeelah mentioned enemies she knew that she was on the right track. Gil's entire demeanor changed the moment she spoke those words. Akeelah watched as the male's face grew pale curiously.
What Gil said next only confirmed her suspicions. Gil was worried about some attack, but from who? Akeelah didn't have many enemies anymore. There was that hunter a few years back that was responsible for the bullet scar on her shoulder who was probably still alive, but he had disappeared, and definitely wouldn't know where she was now, and the only other real threat to her had been Havoc. But Havoc was dead. Anyone that really wanted to do her harm were either long gone or dead, so what was Gil so worried about? Akeelah let that question die when Gil changed the topic but she planned to bring it back up later when the time was right. Right now though she needed to deal with this potential Gil problem. Since Guillotine had come here without any warning the male had put himself in a potentially dangerous situation. If he was discovered anywhere near this place he would be punished again. There was no way that Gil was going to go home if he was as paranoid as she thought he was, so Akeelah had to think of a way to hide his presence from her caretakers. Luckily for her Gil gave her the perfect opportunity to do so.
It was an innocent suggestion but a walk around the block was the perfect solution to their problems. Akeelah could keep Gil away from the house and cut any chance of Nova or Spoon catching the hellhound, and it would give Akeelah the chance to stretch her legs too. There was still a chance that they might bump into Raffe on the way, but she would have to deal with that when the time came. Raffe had it out of Gil but he would have to restrain himself while she was around. Akeelah closed the gate behind her and walked along side Gil away from the back of the house. It was then that Gil asked her about the baby. Talking about the little cub helped lighten the mood between them. She even smiled at the male's comments. “Perhaps you are right. But that would be normal for any kid made from any of us.” the girl replied. Akeelah had been a bit of a challenge for her parents too while growing up, not just because she was a runt, but because she constantly got into trouble. Even if this kid was just like her it would give its fair share of problems growing up. The girl giggled when Gil told her to give into her meat cravings. “I am sure they would, I know dog isn't that bad.” she replied. Akeelah used to hunt small dogs in the first few months that she had woken up in this world until she had been discovered.
“But I won't. Those animals belong to the people I live with and they happen to be very fond of their pets. I am sure Spoon would cry up a storm if I ate his midget horse, I can't do that to him. Not just because he would be more annoying when he's upset but because I at least owe him enough to not make him sad.” Before Raffe came back into her life Spoon was the only person that tried to pull her out of her depression. The damn human would constantly drag her out of her room to do silly stuff with him. She hated it at first but over time it did help give her a distraction from her thoughts, and for that she was grateful. She wouldn't explain that to Gil though. It was hard enough to talk about her real feelings with anyone, and it would be even harder to speak about them to the one that caused them in the first place. Akeelah kept those thoughts to herself. Soon enough Gil finally confessed to the real reason he was here.
“I see.” the shifter said at first. “Why am I not surprised that you still have enemies?” Gil had a knack for getting on people's bad sides. It came as no surprise to the feline that Gil had some other enemy on his mind. The fact that whoever it was actually made him this nervous was something though. Gil was normally too stubborn and prideful to think of his enemies as much of a threat, much less have nightmares about them. “Well as you can see I am just fine. No one strange has come about the house or asked for me so I doubt who ever it is will really come after me. Seeing as how we aren't romantically involved anymore anyway I don't see what advantage any of your enemies would have in using me to get to you, so I will be fine....who was the person you were dreaming about anyway?”

Tonight was going to be a very interesting night. Guillotine was quite pleased with his decision to visit Akeelah. Not only was he calming his paranoia by being here but he was getting to talk to the young shifter as well. If he had come on any other occasion chances were the woman wouldn’t want to talk to him. He had gotten lucky tonight. Doing a bit of catching up was just what the hellhound needed. The beast was well aware of the state of their relationship. Their bond wasn’t nearly as strong as it used to be. Hell, their bond was practically gone. Gil doubted their relationship would ever be the same. Not after all they went through. Still at the end of the day Guillotine had feelings for Akeelah. These emotions were something that he had never felt for anyone else. It was a nice warming feeling that consumed him whenever he was in the shifter’s presence. The hellhound was unsure as to what drew him to Akeelah and what that feeling he had for her was about. Different things could play a part in his obsession with the big cat. One thing was for sure Gil couldn’t get Akeelah out of his head. He thought about her more than he should. She had been the first being he had ever fallen in love with.
As much as Gil wanted to get back together with the woman he loved he knew it wouldn't happen. He recently accepted this fact. Just being friends would pass in the hound’s mind. It was better to see Akeelah for a bit than not at all. Just as long as he could talk to Akeelah he would be happy. The hellhound wouldn’t go looking for another mate now that what he had with Akeelah was over. He doubted he would find anyone like the shifter. To him Akeelah was one in a million and yet he f*cked their relationship[ up. The hound didn't quite know what he had until it was gone. Gil surprised himself that he had yet to sleep with another person since Akeelah caught him in the woods with that other hellhound. He was tempted to tell her and brag about his recent monogamy revelation but figured now wasn’t the time. Why should she care about something like that anyway? They weren’t together anymore.
“Jesse and I are pretty close.” When Akeelah replied to Gil’s comment the hound shook his head. He couldn’t ask Jesse for any more favors. Not after their falling out in the woods. The poor guy had taken it hard. Not only that but he didn’t want to be tied down while visiting Akeelah. Though, the woman did have a point. “Jesse and I had a confrontation some time back. After that day I don’t really like to bother him much.” The hound then looked down and kicked a little rock as he walked. Akeelah wasn’t about to let this one slide. He gave her an annoyed groan. She wanted him to follow the rules and for good reason. “I wouldn’t get a chance to be alone with you if Jesse tagged along...but you do have a point I guess.” Guillotine was willing to give into Akeelah. Whether this be because of the medication or not Gil didn’t know. He seemed a little more receptive to the female’s options on the matter than usual.
Guillotine sighed. He knew where Akeelah was coming from with her previous comments. Gil did not need to be there alone. However, he wished to ask a question that seemed to take it to another level. Gil briefly looked Akeelah in the eye. His own emerald eyes held a hint of sorrow in them. “You would probably be more comfortable if Jesse was around, huh?” Guillotine wouldn’t blame the feline if she wasn’t too keen on him being there. He was thankful the woman wasn’t totally scared of him after that dreadful day in the woods. Gil tore into her pretty good that day. Then again, she did do quite a bit of damage to him as well. He still had the scar she left on his shoulder. Suppose he had nothing to worry about? Akeelah was here walking with him. Things between them couldn’t have been too terribly bad. Guillotine was happy Akeelah was here next to him. When the woman said that she would join him for a walk he was extremely excited. The hound was sure that as soon as the feline laid eyes on him she would go back inside. He was prepared for that outcome. Thankfully, she did the opposite. This was interesting to the young hound. To him it made it seem like Akeelah wasn’t as angry with him as she had been before. If Akeelah was still pissed off at him she could have easily killed him now that he couldn’t transform.
When Guillotine brought up the child that seemed to be the best thing he said all evening. Talking about the little pup appeared to bring out the best in both supernaturals. Akeelah was quick to point out her new cravings that came along with having a child. Gil cocked his head to the side like a curious pup when Akeelah mentioned eating dog. So Akeelah had eaten dog before? This shouldn't have come off as a surprise. The shifter was a carnivore. Gil had eaten at least a few since he’d been on earth. Hearing it straight from the cat’s mouth was a bit surprising. Perhaps it was because he was a dog himself? The hound made a mental note to be more careful around the feline. Who knows she might get a craving for hellhound. The thought made the hound chuckle to himself. He then listened to Akeelah explain that she wouldn’t eat her roommate's pets. Her explanation on how Spoon would take it seemed accurate. Guillotine may not have known the man personally, but he did know he was a bit of a nut job. “It’s a shame.” He cooed, shaking his head. He felt a bit bad for the girl. She was surrounded by food that she couldn’t eat. That would have drove Gil insane. At least Jesse didn’t have any tasty animals in his home or else Gil would have taken a bite or two out of them. Out of pity the hound would say, “Maybe I can find a midget horse for you to eat, hmm? How does that sound?”
“Yeah, trouble always seems to have a way of finding me.” The hound admitted with a grimace. His happy tone seemed to have vanished. Hearing Akeelah talk about the lack of danger she was facing did put Gil at ease. The shifter hadn’t come across anyone suspicious, or even felt threatened at all. Akeelah was right. Why would Azazel go through the trouble of finding her if they weren’t together anymore? Despite knowing the current situation on their relationship apart of Guillotine felt a pang of sorrow when Akeelah said that they were over, though he pushed it back to think about the bigger picture. “Y-You're right. He shouldn’t know about you anyway.” The hound then scratched the back of his head. It was clear that he was still feeling a little anxious. “I-I was just a little worried.”
When Akeelah asked about Azazel the hound grumbled. Gil really didn’t want to talk about the angel. However, if it would keep Akeelah by his side and talking he was willing to tell the female. “I’ve had some beef with this fallen angel for quite some time now. His name is Azazel and he is a real piece of sh*t.” The beast then messed around with the pack of cigarettes in his pocket. He was tempted to take another smoke break. The craving had hit him again. He would try to fight it off as best as he could. After taking those parenting classes with John he learned that cigarette smoke wasn’t good for the baby. If push came to shove he would light one up. “Every time we see one another we fight. The last time I ran into him he had one of his lackeys lead me into a trap.” Guillotine groaned a little. Remembering his first encounter with Loki.”He nearly killed me that day.” The beast then looked Akeelah in the eye. “I’m sure if given the chance he’d use you to get to me. We may not be together anymore, Akeelah but I still have feelings for you. Not to mention you are carrying my pup.” The hound then slowly looked away. "This man is a fallen angel after all. I believe he is on the cusp of becoming a demon. Just believe me when I say the he is insane." The hound looked at the ground. He hated to admit that he was scared of the situation but truly he was. Wanting to move on the hound looked up ahead. “I just can’t believe I am talking to you about this right now.” The hound then forced a light chuckle from his mouth. “After our falling out I wouldn’t think i would get a chance to talk to you like this again.”

Akeelah's remark on Gil and his new roommate had been right. She had already heard from the man himself and from the others that Jesse and Gil got along, to hear those same words come from Gil himself just confirmed it. She was right to suggest that Gil went to his friend to bring him over instead of relying on John. Or so she thought. Gil soon mentioned that the two had hit a rough patch in their relationship. Akeelah had to resist the urge to snicker at that comment. Gil certainly had a knack for souring relationships after awhile. She didn't take any pleasure in hearing this news, she didn't even know what to really think about that besides how common of an occurrence it was. For the moment she kept quiet until Gil said that he still felt more comfortable making an appearance by himself. “If you keep this up you won't be able to see me at all.” Akeelah pointed out quickly. “Trust isn't something that is just given Gil, its earned. If you want to be able to see me on your own terms the fastest way to do that is to play along, earn their trust, and wait till they finally cave.” At least what she was saying seemed to be getting through to him. It looked like it anyway, Gil had a habit of pretending to listen to what people told him only to ignore it. He could very easily be pretending to be listening now when he wasn't.
Oh well, if he didn't listen to her then that was his problem. It was only a matter of time until Gil got caught like this. She wouldn't always be able to bail him out like she was now, Akeelah wasn't even sure if she would help him out again after this. There were so many things involving Guillotine that Akeelah was never sure of. Her feelings for her old mate were too complicated, constantly morphing and changing at their own whim that she didn't know what kind of emotion she would feel the next time she saw him. The only thing she was certain of was that she didn't fear him. It was strange how little she feared him, not just now, but ever since that incident she lost that sense of fear. That fear had died with her old self that day. A part of her still wished that her body had died too. When Gil asked her if she would feel safer with Jesse around she didn't even need to think about her answer. “No, I won't feel safe.” she replied. “Not because I don't trust him to protect me, or any of them for that matter. I won't feel safe because I don't fear you.”
“If you wanted to kill me still you would have done so by now. It wouldn't matter how many PIDA guys are around me you would find a way to do it if you wanted. Since you haven't tried its safe to say that you won't...if it wasn't for this baby I wouldn't even care if you did anyway.” Akeelah didn't look at Gil as she spoke, though her emotionless tone gave away her feelings. Even now Akeelah still felt like she was nothing more than an empty shell that was being kept alive for god knew what for. She couldn't hide the way that she felt anymore, nor did she want to. Even if that meant that her words might hurt him. Would he even be hurt by what she said? Maybe he would be happy to know that she finally would embrace death by his hands. He had attacked her because he didn't want her to leave him, did those feelings change?
It was probably a good thing that the conversation turned towards the unborn cub. Talking about he child certainly helped lighten the mood between them, which was something they definitely needed tonight. It even managed to put a bit of a smile on the girl's face. She even chuckled when Gil jokingly said he would bring her a different miniature horse to devour. “That sounds lovely, maybe you should bring one over the next time you visit. While you are at it bring me some zebra too. Its been ages since I last had some zebra meat.” Like all cheerful moments this part did not last long. Akeelah turned the conversation back on Gil's dream. As much as she would have preferred a lighter conversation she wanted to get a better understanding on Gil's issue. It might be just a dream but it wasn't something that Gil had out of no where. The way he talked it felt more like a genuine concern. Akeelah listened carefully to Gil's history with the fallen angel named Azazel. “So this Azazel guy is like Havoc, only he's alive.” the girl remarked, she sighed when Gil warned her what this man might do with her if he knew about her. There he went again about his feelings for her. Akeelah didn't really want to think about Gil's feelings towards her. What could he possibly feel for her? He had shown just how much he had cared the night she had caught him cheating on her. Gil couldn't possibly love her. Yet the way he spoke to her made her doubt her convictions.
“I guess I see your point.” she finally said. “It wouldn't be the first time that someone has tried to use me to get to you. I guess its a good thing that I have been stuck in the house most of the time or else I might have someone else try to kill me again.” Why did things always end up like this? No matter what Gil's battles always ended up finding some way to burden her in the end. There was a time that she would have been fine with that but those days were gone. She couldn't devote her life to Gil again to stand by him in this, nor was she strong enough to fend for herself against his enemies if they came for her. This situation would only be a nuisance in the end if she did get caught up in it. “I will stick to the house for now until I finally have this cub. Though I can't make any promises about staying put afterwords. Its hard enough to keep my sanity being cooped up as long as I have, I am not sure how much of this I can take along with everything else.”
Soon after she spoke Gil admitted that he was surprised that they were even talking at all. Akeelah didn't feel the same. To her this came as no shock. Gil had been reaching out to her already, no matter what happened in her life the male always found some way to get back in her life. She couldn't fight it so she just didn't bother. What was the point of fighting? Akeelah had lost all her will to fight long ago, even if she had some fight left in her she didn't know if she still had it in her to fight him. “I guess I can see why.” the girl said. “The old me might have been mad enough to want nothing to do with you. But that part of me is gone. I don't have the strength left in me to hate. I don't even have the strength in me to cry anymore. I don't know what to think or feel anymore...I don't know what you are thinking either.” Akeelah stopped walking for a moment to look Gil in the eye. “You say you still have feelings for me, but do you mean by that? Love? You couldn't possibly love me back then if you were cheating on me as much as you did to feel that way now. What do you really want from me?”

Guillotine remained alert and listened to Akeelah speak. She was quick to give Gil the business. He would have to give it to the shifter she was diligent. There was a hint of thoughtfulness to her tone. Gil had come to realize that Akeelah did truly care. She even said that if he did not obey the rules he wouldn’t get to see her at all. The hound gave the female a nod. Suppose he should try to follow the rules? It would be hard to contain himself if Jesse or John wasn’t around to take him to Akeelah’s place. Gil was afraid he’d come waltzing back over here without them eventually. However, he’d try his best to heed Akeelah’s warning. The woman was smart. She was obviously looking out for the greater good in all this. Akeelah soon explained that trust wasn’t something that was just given to Gil. It had to be earned. The feline did have a point. Was Gil willing to listen? With his medication in his system Gil’s mind was more willing to stop it’s noisy chatter and listen to what others had to say. Thankfully, the male had taken said medication this morning. Guillotine thought this over. He could learn a thing or two from the crafty little shifter. Guillotine would take what Akeelah said into consideration. What good was visiting Akeelah on his own terms when he could possibly get into trouble and not be able to see her at all? Not only could he earn the trust of his caretakers but perhaps mend a bit of Akeelah’s trust as well. It was a stretch but Guillotine was willing to do whatever it took to get a little closer to the woman.
The hellhound’s blood ran cold when Akeelah answered his next question. The feline didn’t even stop to think. The answer was sitting right at the tip of her tongue. When Akeelah stated that she wouldn’t feel safe around him the hound’s face turned paler than usual. Gil looked almost sickly. Was he really so much of a monster that he scared her to that point? As Akeelah continued the beast then began to relax. What Akeelah was saying now was that she didn’t feel safe around anyone because she did not fear him at all. A part of the hound was relieved to hear this. After their last run in within the forest Gil as certain Akeelah would be a bit more timid around him. Oh how wrong he was. Akeelah was a strong individual, that he could see. Perhaps she was even stronger than Gil? It appeared so. “G-Good I guess…”
What Akeelah said next made Guillotine’s heart skip a beat. Looking up he listened to Akeelah talk and watched her body language. She was right about one thing, he wasn’t here to kill her. What she said soon after caused the hound to frown. He looked almost as if he were in pain. If it wasn’t for the baby the feline wouldn’t even care if she died during their fight. Those words hit the hellhound hard. Did Akeelah want to die? He was oblivious to the mental torment the shifter went through after their breakup. She had lost a part of herself that day in the woods. It was a part of her soul that she couldn’t get back. “D-Don’t say that!” The beast barked. He loathed the idea of Akeelah suffering because of him. Now the hound was facing the truth and he didn’t like it one bit. Guillotine wanted to say more but quickly silenced himself. God, he really felt like a true piece of shit. He wasn’t worthy to talk to Akeelah. Maybe Raffe was right? Perhaps he should leave Akeelah be? Gil just didn’t have the willpower to do it. Forest green eyes looked at the ground. Once he calmed down a bit he began to speak. His deep voice cracked as he spoke. “I had no idea...” Guillotine was starting to regret ever getting close to the feline. From the beginning he should have known something like this would happen. The hound’s track record with his friends wasn’t exactly glamorous. He ended up hurting them one way or another. The hound was dumb enough to think he could change his nature for one person. Hell, he need the help of an organization just to keep his instinct under wraps. It would have been a feat he couldn't have done on his own.
Guillotine needed the topic change when it came. The beast was just about to pull out another cigarette. Talking about the little pup did bring out a side in him that he didn’t know he had. It appeared that Akeelah was feeling the same way. The child was the only thing keeping their heads above water at this point. Gil gained the confidence to look Akeelah in the eye again. Seeing the shifter smile warmed his heart. He missed her lovely grin. What Akeelah was feeling must have been contagious. Soon enough Gil was smiling as well. When the female laughed Gil had to resist the urge to wag a tail that wasn’t there. The tension around the two disappeared for a brief moment. This was sheer bliss. It was as if the whole world stood still. Gil missed times like this. He laughed at what Akeelah said about food. Guillotine would definitely have to bring her something the next time he came to visit. “I’ll just bring a whole zoo next time. You and the pup need a little variety in your diet.” The beasts teased. Akeelah really seemed to like Zebra. She had brought up the equine more than once. Gil thought about this. Maybe he could break into the zoo and get one for her. The PIDA couldn’t get too mad about that, right? He wasn't killing anyone. That would have to be a task for another day. For the time being he was enjoying Akeelah’s presence until the topic of conversation switched. That smile that had lit up Gil’s face was quickly wiped away. It had been replaced with a frown.
Guillotine stomach twisted into a knot when Akeelah explained that she would stick to the house from then on. This should have been good news for the worried hound. However, it wasn’t as good as it seemed. The poor girl was once again being tied down and all because of Gil’s decisions to pick fights with dangerous individuals. Gil hadn’t really thought of the consequences of his brawls until now. He wanted Akeelah to be safe but at the same time he felt bad that she had to be confied. “I don’t think he is as bad as Havoc.” The hound replied. “Still, I don’t trust him at all.” The feline seemed to understand where Gil was coming from. He was thankful for this. The woman had stated that she would stay put until the child was born. “That is fine. Just as long as the two of you are safe.” The beast then kept his mouth shut as Akeelah explained that she didn’t know how much more she could take. This little comment made Gi’s stomach turn just hearing it. The beast was afraid to say anything to her about the subject. Really, he didn’t quite know what to say. This had been the first time he was dealing with this kind of situation from the outside looking in. Before he really wouldn’t care just so long as Akeelah stayed by his side. Now things were different. He wanted Akeelah to stay safe. Was it right to keep her safe at the expense of her freedom? Gil shook the thought from his head. He couldn’t keep Akeelah chained to a rock forever. The woman was being driven insane by her confinement. Gil finally caved. If Akeelah wished to go out there was nothing he could do to stop it. The hound would have to accept that. After all, he had been through that situation himself. “I trust you will do what is best for you and the pup.”
Soon Guillotine had said that he was surprised Akeelah was even talking to him. What he said was true. After all they’ve been through he was quite bewildered that the feline was even giving him the time of day. He’d always had been a tricky canine to pin down. Not matter what he did he had always found a way of finding Akeelah. His obsession with the woman drove him to seek her out, even if she didn't’ want to see him. Guillotine licked his lips. He really wanted another cigarette. His craving had gotten worse. However, it would be postponed. The feline was speaking and he gave her his full attention. Akeelah’s answer was heartbreaking to say the least. Guillotine was left speechless. There was nothing he could say. Akeelah admitted that apart of her had died and it was all because of what he had done to her. She also mentioned that she was done fighting Gil and was giving in. Guillotine was looked at the ground now, ashamed. He had created a monster. When Akeelah stopped walking the beast lifted his head. The hound looked Akeelah in the eye. The woman’s own golden orbs peered to his. He could see sorrow in those lovely eyes of hers. It was almost too much for him. Akeelah had his attention. Guillotine’s body grew numb as Akeelah spoke. Her words held truth to them. It took a moment for Gil to answer. “I know I fucked up back then, but I’m not that kind of hound anymore.” Guillotine replied, fondling the cigarette lighter in his pocket. He would try to explain himself. Though nothing could really justify what he had done to her. “Back then I wasn’t tied down to any one person. I could fuck whoever I want whether they wanted it or not.“ The hound then signed. He immediately thought of Blake. The poor witch had been one of his victims. Shaking that memory from his head the hound said, ” I guess I just wasn’t ready to change when I met you. “
“After we broke up apart of me was ready to move on but something was holding me back. I just couldn't get you out of my head, Akeelah. It didn’t matter what I did. You would always come to mind. The thought of you being out in the world without me by your side drove me insane. I’m not entirely sure why, but...” A grimace could be seen on the hound’s features. He had yet to break eye contact with Akeelah. “I am obsessed with you.”
“The feeling that I have for you is something I can’t quite describe. “ Looking away his brow furrowed as he tried to think of a way to describe the feeling to his company. It didn’t take long for him to come up with an idea. Turning to Akeelah he took a step closer to her and said, “ It kinda' makes me feel warm, right here.” The hound said patting his chest. ”I’ve never felt this feeling around anyone else before. Every time I am around you Akeelah that feeling comes back. I am uncertain if my species can love. “ The hound then looked away. This was the first time he was telling anyone this. “ I think this warmth that I am feeling in my chest is pretty damn closed to it. ” Guillotine clutched his shirt. Akeelah was still hurt after all that he did. Gil didn’t blame her for that. Hell, the woman seemed more upset from him cheating on her rather than him trying to kill her. Akeelah knew his violent nature. Maybe she didn’t think he would go as far as to cheat on her? The feline then asked the hound what he wanted from her. Sorrow engulfed Gil like the cool night air. He took a moment to think of the words to say. “I don’t feel right asking to be your mate again, Akeelah. Not after what we’ve been through- not after all that I’ve put you through. But, what I want is to be closer to you. I know that sounds selfish of me.” The hound replied with a humorless chuckle. Guillotine laughed in an attempt to hide the pain he was feeling. Oh the hound just wanted to reach out and pull Akeelah into an embrace. He knew better than to do that. Touching the woman know would only make the situation worse. Instead, he would looked up at her and try his best to muster a smile. “W-What I am trying to say is I want to make things right between us.“

Akeelah was being unusually bold tonight. Honestly the shifter didn't know what had come over her when she started talking to Gil. It seemed that she didn't know a lot about herself after the incident in the woods. After all the emotional and physical hell that she had been through it was hard to hang onto one feeling. Just thinking about the past or even the future made her feel a strange mix of so many negative emotions that she just didn't know how to deal with it. When it came to Guillotine it was worse. She had spent a lot of time thinking about the hellhound in her months of confinement. She had gone through so many scenarios in her head on what she would do if she ever encountered him. But in the end she didn't know what she would do. Now that she was here she was surprised at how she was dealing with him. She didn't break down at the sight of him, she didn't feel rage, despair, or even a shred of happiness. She felt numb.
Perhaps that was a good thing? Feeling numb meant she wouldn't act irrationally with Gil. For once she was free to just say whatever she wanted without the internal dilemma getting in her way. John kept telling her how important it was for her to start being open and honest with her feelings. Akeelah had been holding in her feelings for so long that it was nice to have the chance to do so and not care about the consequence. So when Gil started asking her some serious questions regarding how she felt about him she didn't hesitate to say what she really thought. Akeelah knew that telling the truth to him would not please the hellhound. The things that she had to say were bound to hurt him, maybe even make him mad enough to hit her again but at this point she didn't care anymore. If he hit her than that was that. He could do a lot worse than that if he wanted to. So long as he didn't start aiming for the baby she didn't really care.
Gil didn't get mad at her for telling the truth at least, but his reaction was still bad. She could see that what she was saying was hurting the male but she still felt numb. She merely looked confused when he told her to stop talking about wishing she was dead. “Why not?” the girl asked, “Don't you think things would have been better off if I didn't survive? At least then we wouldn't be stuck here trying to deal with the aftermath. You wouldn't have to worry about fixing everything, or having to take responsibility for a child you never planned for.” That statement was bound to be far more cruel than she intended it to be, but she couldn't help but think that. Akeelah knew that Gil was only trying so hard to keep ties with her just because he was trying to atone for his actions. But what was the point? There was nothing that any of them could do to change the past. What was done was done. Gil was only chasing a ghost now and he was suffering for it. They both were. At least if she had died there would have been some finality to it all.
It was definitely a good thing that the conversation changed. Just talking about the baby lightened the mood immensely. It even managed to bring a smile to Akeelah's face, it was something that happened rarely now a days even with Raffe around. But like always the moment didn't last long. The conversation eventually turned to why Guillotine came here in the first place. The shifter listened intently as Gil tried to explain the situation with the man called Azazel. Akeelah gave what Gil said some thought. Though it was all just a dream based on what he said there was a potential threat there. The girl sighed, if there was a threat there she had to deal with it. A part of her didn't care if this dangerous man did come at her, so long as he gave her a quick death. But with the baby in the picture she couldn't let that happen. So she would have to take precautions. Sadly that was at the cost of her own freedom. Once again Akeelah had to be confined. Life was already hard enough when she willingly locked herself up in her room, but now that she wanted the chance to move around freely she couldn't even do that. When would it end? She wasn't sure how much more of this crap she could take without something bad happening. At this point she would turn feral if she couldn't venture outside any longer. This was just her fate. Her life had turned into nothing more than pain and misery, what difference did it make that she lost something else now?
Perhaps Gil was starting to have second thoughts about telling her all of this? The male tried to tell her that this new guy wasn't as bad as Havoc was. Akeelah shook her head, did that really matter? “That isn't saying much Gil. If this guy kills me outright he'd still be better than Havoc.” she replied flatly. “I won't take the chance, at least not until the baby is born.” like it or not she was not going to take the risk while she was pregnant. She would just have to bear with a bit more suffering for the time being. That was all that she seemed capable of doing. “Don't worry I will do what is best for the baby. I can't say the same for myself, I have never been able to make the right decisions for myself and I doubt I will be able to do so now. But I can at least try for someone else.”
When Guillotine confessed that he was surprised that she was even talking to him at all, Akeelah didn't know how to respond to him. She could see where he was coming from though. After what happened between them it was amazing that they could hold a conversation at all. In Gil's eyes Akeelah would have been either afraid or too angry to be anywhere near him. He would have been right if she had been the same person she was before that horrible night. But Akeelah wasn't who she was anymore and he had failed to realize that. How could he have known what she became now? They had been apart for so long after that attack that he never got to see what really became of her. Would he regret asking that question now? Akeelah didn't know but she didn't hold back the truth. What she had to say left the male speechless. She could see the pain her words had on the male. A part of her regretted speaking at all. Every time that she told anyone about how she really felt it always seemed to pain them. She hated that. Her life was hard enough to bear on her own and she didn't want to burden others with it. That was why she kept silent for so long. Was she really doing the right thing telling him all of this now?
Akeelah didn't know, but it was too late to turn back now. She couldn't change the past like always every mistake she made was her cross to bear. She couldn't stop Gil's suffering now and she knew she would only cause him more grief, for she wasn't done yet. There were a few nagging questions that Akeelah wanted to get off her chest. As bad as it was to say them now this was probably the only time that she could ask them freely at all. So she took the opportunity to ask them now. It felt incredibly stupid to ask Gil what his feelings about her were. His own actions in the past were a clear enough answer for her in that regard. Even if her assumptions were wrong that wouldn't change anything now, yet she still couldn't stop herself from asking. Akeelah listened quietly to what the male had to say. Akeelah had thought that nothing the hellhound would tell her would surprise her. She had been so sure that she already knew the answer to this question that she didn't even know why she bothered asking it. Yet, when Gil answered her question what he said caught her off guard. He really did love her. That fact might have made her feel better in the past but now it didn't. Hearing Gil describe his feelings only made her heartache. This realization came too late.
It was only when Gil said he wanted to make things right that Akeelah spoke. “I...don't think you can.” Akeelah couldn't even look him in the face anymore. “I believe that you mean what you said. You really did care about me to some extent in the past but...” she was struggling to find the words to express what she was thinking. This was much more draining than she could have imagined. Just trying to speak suddenly made her feel so tired and heartsick. “But...I am not the same person that you fell in love with Gil. That person doesn't exist anymore. There is nothing left to make up for...its probably better to forget about it.”

Gil gritted his teeth. If he hadn’t been on his medication he would have went off on the shifter by now. Surely that would have made the already tense atmosphere worse. Guillotine’s instinct and anger was the reason why he was in this situation in the first place. In the past it would have been the only way Gil really knew how to confront his emotions. He dealt with them using violence. With rage clouding his judgment all his other emotions were numb. Nowadays it was different. Gil had medication that could help him fight off his instincts. Things were changing for the better. Still, those same emotions plagued his mind at the very moment. Instinct wouldn't save the hound this time. Guillotine felt so much sorrow that it began to whelp up as a pain in his chest. He wished this feeling it would go away. This didn’t seem likely. As long as the woman that stood before him was upset Guillotine would continue to be pained by this torturous emotion.
Akeelah had hit rock bottom and it was all because of him. Guilt had been a constant visitor in Gil’s mind since the incident in the woods. That very emotion had amplified over the past few minutes. Never in his life had Gil felt this much negativity at once. The hound was speechless for a brief period of time when Akeelah mentioned that life would be better for the both of them if she did not survive that night in the forest. Irritation began to overcome Guillotine’s features. “Why not?” He repeated sternly. Guillotine didn’t sounds too happy to hear this. His flustration had accompanied his sadness. The hound couldn’t quite believe his ears. Akeelah was acting rather peculiar. She definitely wasn’t acting like her old self. Heartbroken the hellhound would say, “Things wouldn’t have been better Akeelah and you know it.” There was a low growl to his tone. He was surprised Akeelah was acting like this. It wasn’t like her at all. Akeelah used to be a fighter but now she appeared to have given up hope. Looking away Guillotine grumbled to himself. What have I done?
“I could live with myself If I killed you, Akeelah. I wasn’t in my right mind at the time. I honestly don’t think I could have handled it. I can’t take the pain of losing you even if I am the one taking your life. Your life is worth so much more.” It pained the hellhound to say this. He truly felt sympathy for the smaller woman. She was going through a really rough time. He could feel it. ”If I didn’t want to go through the trouble of fixing this Akeelah I wouldn’t be here. What is done is done. ” Guillotine could feel his eyes start to water. What on earth was happening to him? Maybe he made a mistake coming here tonight? He obviously wasn’t helping Akeelah much at all. Guillotine wished he could redo the past. He would have done things differently. Though, his past self probably wouldn’t be up to the change. When Akeelah mentioned the child Gil looked back at her. His forest green eyes glistened a bit in the moonlight. “The child was unexpected, yes. I am actually am kinda’ happy about having a child with you, Akeelah. It’s amazing that we could even have a pup at all. “ A weak smile appeared on Gil’s face. He looked down at Akeelah’s bulging stomach. “ It’s something you and I made together. ”
Suppose Gil’s efforts were for nothing? It was as if he were chasing his tail. Gil didn’t appear to be getting through to the woman. Upset, the hound looked away again. He wasn’t sure what to do. There was a large rift between himself and Akeelah. He couldn’t possibly do this one his own. Gil wanted to make this right. What If Akeelah wasn’t willing to accept this help? Would Gil do what he did in the past and drag her back to his place kicking and screaming, or perhaps even knock her unconscious just to get her to go with him? He’d been down that road too many times with her. Even if that tactic did prove to be successful Guillotine couldn’t dream of laying an ill hand on Akeelah. The beast shook the thought from his head. Right now he felt as if he were making things worse for the two of them.
When the Azazel topic reared it’s ugly head the hound looked to Akeelah once again. The woman shook her head at his explanation and stated that Azazel was far better than Havoc if he killed her quickly. The hound sighed. She was right. Havoc would have tortured her. Guillotine didn't let his mind sit on this for too long. What Akeelah said next did put him at ease a bit. She claimed that she would stay safe until the child was born. What she said soon after brought Guillotine’s hopes crashing down. Akeelah said she would take care of the child but she didn’t promise to do the same for herself. What did she mean by this? Guillotine was unsure but he didn’t like the sound of it. He would keep quiet for now. The beast would bring it up a bit later.
As Guillotine explained his feelings for the woman Akeelah remained silent. He couldn't quite tell if it was getting to her or not. She did seem a bit surprised about it but all and all she just appeared hurt. When Guillotine got to the end of his explanation Akeelah finally spoke. Her words only seemed to bring a frown to Guillotine’s already pained face. Akeelah couldn't even look him in the eye at this point. She didn’t think it was possible to mend their broken bond. Hell, the woman even told the hound to forget about it and that there was nothing left to make up. Just knowing that there was nothing he could do about this nearly pushed the hellhound over the edge. A sudden warming sensation crept up Guillotine's face. His cheeks flushed. He could feel his watery eyes getting worse. Akeelah had admitted that she wasn’t the same person that he had met before. “I know the old you is still in there somewhere.” He finally looked away from Akeelah. He couldn’t take much more of this. “I-I can’t…” Was all the hound said. He took a moment to breath before continuing. “I can’t just forget about this!”
No amount of cigarettes could put the hound at ease now. “Tell me when the pup is born Akeelah will you still value your own life?” Guillotine began to wonder what would happen once the child was born. Would Akeelah kill herself or possibly go out looking for danger? This thought was lingering in the back of his mind since their conversation about Azazel. Guillotine couldn’t let Akeelah go down that road. Yet, he was the one that put her on the path to it. God, he hated feeling like this. Guillotine was on the verge of a mental break down. The flood gates were still holding his tears back. But for how much longer? This would be the first time Gil had ever felt like crying. It was a human’s way of dealing with pain. Gil had always seen it as a weakness until now.

Guillotine was not too happy to hear what Akeelah was saying. The moment that she said that things would have been better if she had died back in the woods the male looked upset, angry even. The female tensed a bit when she heard the angry tone in his voice as he spoke. Was she wrong about him attacking her again? It wouldn't be the first time that she had been wrong about Gil's aggressive nature rearing its ugly head towards her. Even before the accident Gil had been abusive towards her. Despite what the PIDA men said she wasn't as confident as they were that that would change. If Gil attacked her now that would be a problem, not for her but for the baby. Akeelah didn't value her life anymore, but the child's life was a different matter. The baby was innocent. It was the only one that could have a real life between the two of them. It was because of that that she was still breathing now. She couldn't let Gil or anyone else hurt its chances.
Luckily for both her and the baby Gil didn't attack. His anger quickly gave way to sorrow. The male tried to tell her that things wouldn't be better if she had truly died that moment. Akeelah shook her head. “No, I don't know it.” she replied. What good was her living doing for anyone? Besides the unborn baby's life being given another chance she didn't see the point. All her existence was now was pain, not just for herself but everyone else. Everyone was so worked up over saving someone that was already dead inside, only they didn't know. Akeelah knew all too well that her sadness was effecting those around her and she didn't want to keep going if that was the kind of effect she had on people now. Gil just didn't get it. He was just another person chasing after the ghost of the being she once was, he just didn't know the truth. That or he didn't want to accept it.
When Gil told her how he couldn't bear to live with himself if she had truly died Akeelah didn't say anything. She had no idea that that was what he really felt. At the time of the attack it didn't feel like that. She had thought he hated her for wanting to be free of him, she thought that he could move on with his life if he killed her. But apparently he couldn't. What could she say to that? Gil didn't know that he pretty much killed her already. To tell him so now would probably destroy him. Did she really want that? She hated the burden she had become on others but when it came to Gil she wasn't sure if she wanted to protect him from the truth. As much as she blamed herself for his infidelity and everything else that came after it, he was still the one that killed her inside. There was nothing that anyone could do to change that. She didn't have the will anymore to hate him but neither did she have it in herself to forgive him. She only let Gil come back into her life because she knew she couldn't escape him, and until she had a better sense of what she wanted out of the male there was no reason to fight him.
Akeelah held her tongue for now on that matter and instead decided to address the problem with Azazel. At least there was something that she could do about that potential threat. If the life of the baby was at risk even a little by this stranger then she could at least just stay out of the way for now. She wouldn't have even less freedom as a result but with what little freedom she had already it wasn't much of an issue. She would never have any freedom again so what was the use getting upset over it? Akeelah agreed to stay put for now to put an end to that conversation. But soon she brought another issue up on the table. The girl asked Gil something that had been nagging on her mind ever since she woke up in the hospital. The answer he gave her had surprised her. But in the end it did nothing. Akeelah knew that no matter what Gil said it wouldn't change things between them. What was done could never be undone. But Gil wanted to try anyway. What was the point? She couldn't hold it in anymore. She finally confessed what she truly felt like to the male. He took the news as well as she expected him to, terribly. Gil looked like he was on the verge of crying. It was enough to make her heartache, she would have cried just looking at him if she had anymore tears left to shed. But she didn't.
“The person I once was doesn't exist anymore.” Akeelah couldn't even look at him anymore as she spoke. Though she decided to tell the truth she hated what she was doing. All she could do was cause everyone around her pain, she couldn't run from that fact but seeing it for herself didn't make it any easier. “This is what I am now. Some pathetic, empty shell of a being that shouldn't even exist. All you and everyone else is doing is chasing the ghost of someone that isn't here anymore. If you can't forget about me then just let go. You are wasting your time.” Why didn't he see that? Why didn't anyone see that? Everyone was trying to save someone that didn't even exist anymore. It was too late to save her and she wished they would just stop. She couldn't take it anymore.
Not long after Akeelah uttered those words did Gil ask her a difficult question. Akeelah finally looked back at Gil, he was not going to like what she had to say. “I never valued my life in the first place to care about it after the baby is born.” she finally responded. “The only reason I have kept going as long as I have was because if I died this child would die along with me. I might not have anything left to live for anymore but this child does. Once it can come into this world what happens to me doesn't matter...if you are worried that I am going to kill myself after don't. As much as I want to die I know well enough that someone will just stop me if I try, so I have given up on the idea of taking my own life. What I want doesn't matter. If I want to die for good it doesn't matter. You don't have to worry about that.”

| This conversation was quickly draining the hound of his confidence. Guillotine felt like less of a man standing in front of Akeelah. No, the hound never was a man. He was a monster. Guillotine had finally told Akeelah the truth. She knew the things he had done, the women slept with, the ones he raped, the people he killed. Akeelah could have made it to the list of many he’d slain over the years. Luckily, she was a fighter. She fought against Gil and managed to get away with her life. However, this wasn’t the first time the hound had lied an ill hand on her. It would be a lie to say that Guillotine hadn't abused Akeelah during their relationship. Whenever the shifter did something Guillotine did not desire he’d punish her. His brutal methods of getting the female to submit had only chipped away at foundation of their relationship. Even those who knew the two were blind to this fact. From the outside looking in they appeared to be a very close pair. In reality they were anything but a perfect couple.
Suppose Guillotine really was a fool for trying to get back together with the very woman he used to beat? Gil claimed he loved her but his past actions had proven otherwise. Now that Gil got the help he needed the hound wanted to prove that he did truly care for Akeelah. He’d taken the steps to control his hellish instincts with the help of the PIDA. At first he really didn’t have a choice but now he was starting to see the good in what the organization was trying to do. Gil was slowly changing. He definitely wasn’t doing this for himself anymore, rather, for Akeelah and their child. In truth Guillotine missed his old life. He missed being a terrifying monster from hell, he missed seeing fear in the eyes of his prey, he missed tearing into the flesh of the innocent and tasting their warm blood on his tongue. Those golden days were over. Guillotine was willing to sacrifice his true nature to be a better mate to the woman he loved.
Tensions were running high. The outcome of this looked very bleak for the two supernaturals. The moment Akeelah mentioned that she was an empty shell of a being that shouldn’t exist the hellhound nearly lost it. Despite having medication in his system the beast became angry. An emotional relapse wasn’t what Gil needed right now. However, he was on the verge of a mental break down. If he snapped there was a chance he would kill both Akeelah and the unborn child. Still, Gil was hurt. He'd notice his company growing tense. Akeelah had wounded him with those words of hers and in turn he wasn’t afraid to show her his fangs. “S-Shut up...” The hound growled under his breath. His fists clutched at his side. His arms began to shake with anger. He couldn’t take much more of this.
The flood gates finally opened and the hellhound lost it. “YOU ARE WRONG!” He yelled, streams of warm tears ran down the hellhound’s cheek. “You are fucking wrong...” Guillotine had never felt anything like this before. The hound suddenly stopped once he realized something was coming out of his eyes. The sensation frightened him. Guillotine nearly jumped out of his skin when the felt tears roll down his cheek. He lifted his trembling hands to his face. The look of fear could be seen in his eyes as his rough hands moved over the tiny tear droplets. He wiped it with his hand and looked down. Were these tears? What was happening to him? Was this all because of the medication? Guillotine tried desperately to quickly wipe the tears from his face only to find that they wouldn’t stop flowing. More poured from his forest green eyes like a leaky faucet. The male had to completely turn his large frame away from Akeelah. Gil was frightened and ashamed. He’d ever gotten up enough emotion to cry, ever. The beast didn’t want Akeelah to see him like this. He felt weak as the tears continued to stream down his face. God, he wanted them to stop. This had been the first time he had cried since coming to this god forsaken realm. After a while he figured he couldn’t cry at all. Oh, how wrong he was. No amount of physical pain had every caused him to cry. The emotional pain however appeared to be a entirely different animal. A series of sniffles crept from the tall man as he tried to calm himself down. Frustrated with himself the male ran his fingers through his hair. He attempted to push his long jet black hair out of his face only to have it fall back in front of his eyes. The hound wished he could transform so he couldn’t cry at all. He would have if he could. Gil hated this, he really did. The hound didn’t quite understand what was going on. Guillotine hadn’t felt this vulnerable before.
Man, he could use a cigarette.
The more Akeelah spoke the more Guillotine began to sink into a depressed slimp The beast kept his back to her. “It d-does matter! Don’t you fucking get it!?” Now Gil was talking out of frustration. Gil was finally being pushed to his breaking point. His deep voice cracked under the pressure of the situation as he continued, “You have so much to live for Akeelah. You are just too damn blind to see it.” He couldn’t quite believe what was going on. The young shifter had completely lost hope. Her comments pained Gil more than anything. Just know he caused the woman that he cared about to feel so much emotional trauma nearly made the hellhound sick. If he had been the same hound he had been before their relationship he wouldn’t have cared. The hell beast would have killed Akeelah and the child before moving into his next fling. But there was something about Akeelah that had changed Gil. Over the years of knowing her he grew attached to the young sifter. It was surprising to say the least. Never in his life would he had thought he’d fall in love with a cat.
After a few minutes of sniffling Guillotine finally turned back to look at Akeelah. He seemed to have finally calmed down a bit. The hound’s face was as red as a tomato and tears continued to leave trails down the sides of his face. Gil remained quiet for a moment as he tried to gather his composure. He finally released a sigh. “The problem is I will still worry.” He said calmly as he slowly approached Akeelah. He shortened the distance between the two considerably. “I’m sorry Akeelah but I just care too damn much.” The beast finally said before wrapping his arms around the woman and pulled her into an embrace. Guillotine knew he fucked up now. He’d told himself he wouldn't put his hands on Akeelah. Yet, at this very moment he was doing just that. Feeling the woman’s warmth and smelling her scent brought back so many memories. It was the more pleasant memories the two had shared. Just thinking about it seemed to make Gil’s sobbing worse. He’d waited almost half a year to touch Akeelah like this. His salty tears soaked the top of Akeelah’s shoulder. He didn’t quite understand the pain Akeelah was going through. Perhaps he was going about this in a selfish light? The male truth wanted to help his shifter mate, he just didn’t know how. “I’ll continue to chase this ghost, Akeelah. I-I just can’t let go.” The beast nuzzled the side of the woman’s neck with his tear stained cheek. She had stated that she wouldn’t kill herself because she knew someone would try to stop her. Gil didn’t quite believe her. The woman just seemed so different. Could he really trust her word? It was almost scary how depressed his ex had gotten. Regardless, he would still fight for her, even if she didn’t want him to. Gil was far too hurt to give up. His tall frame began to tremble as he continued to pull Akeelah to him. “No mattter what happens I will never give up on you...”
