Guillotine could feel the tension in the air as soon as he entered the little shop. Though this did not stop him from asserting himself. It was clear that both Blake and Loki weren’t too happy to see him. He hadn’t realized this until he approached Blake. He could feel her irritation wafting off of her like a summer breeze. Gil wasn’t too surprised to see that Loki wasn’t fond of his presence, but Blake? The woman looked as if she were about to throw a chair at his face. Gil was utterly confused for a moment when he noticed this. She looked just as upset about his presence as Loki. What was going on here? Soon the female rose from her seat. She did not hesitate to tell the hellhound how she felt. Guillotine cocked an eyebrow and took a step back from Blake when she spoke. The woman was pissed. What had gotten into her? Looking down at his dear friend Gil’s nose crinkled with annoyance. He studied for face for a moment. Judging by her stance she wasn’t too happy to see him at all. Gil was about to tell her off when the woman grabbed his arm. Stunned by this the male fought back. He tried to pull his arm away but eventually gave into Blake’s demands. Why on earth was she taking him outside? Couldn't they just talk inside the warm shop? “Woh-Wait!” Guillotine barked as he was dragged out the shop. The fact that he could have possibly hurt the bystanders inside of the sweet shop never seemed to have crossed his mind. But, surely, they would have been some casualties if things did turn ugly. Though, Gil did not see it that way. As he was being pulled outside he noticed Loki was following them as well. Guillotine gave the smaller male a growl. The shifter had yet to take his eyes off him.
Once in the alley Gil looked away from Blake as she began to tell him that Loki wasn’t dangerous. The female was quick to come to Loki's defense. Gil didn’t believe her for a minute. She even stated before that they had been enjoying a treat. Hell, they were carrying on a conversation before Gil even came into the picture. The hellhound turned to his female friend. He'd just about had enough of her talking. If it wasn't for his past experiences with Loki the male would have been easier to convince. The beast snorted and said, “He is a sneaky little bastard! He will get you when you lease expect it."
Soon the feline spoke, throwing his two cents into the conversation. Gil’s eyes looked over at Loki. The smaller male casually laughed about what Blake had said before spouting a few words of his own. Loki’s face had turned serious while he talked to Guillotine. He even entered the male's personal space as he did so. Clearly, the feline had a few bones to pick with Gil. Despite being talked down to by a cat Loki’s words hit hope. The smaller male was right. The hellhound was dangerous. Guillotine’s confidence began to falter soon after those words were uttered. In that instance he looked away from the two. The hound thought back to all the things he had done to Blake. Over the course of their relationship Gil had done some unspeakable things to the poor girl. Did Blake think he was dangerous as well? The woman had scars from him. Not to mention he raped her when they first met. It was a wonder they were even friends at all. The witch's first meeting with Loki probably didn't go nearly as bad. Gil shook the thoughts from his head. No, he couldn’t give in like this. Still looking away he said, “I-I’m not dangerous.” His tone didn’t seem so convincing this time around. He was trying to deny himself. Still, Gil wasn’t going to give in. As long as Loki was around Azazel he would treat the smaller male like an enemy.
Guillotine could barely believe what happened next. If getting in his face wasn’t bad enough the feline would take it up a notch. Loki did something surprising to say the least. The smaller male reached out and grabbed Gil by the collar of his shirt. The hound jumped, his eyes widened in shock. A low defensive growl crept from his mouth as he was pulled down to Loki’s level. Did the little shifter have a death wish? Why on earth was he acting this way? The feline truly believed the hellhound was going to kill Blake. Guillotine couldn’t quite believe what he was hearing. Surprise soon turned into irritation. Gil's brow furrowed. He was about to set Loki’s straight. Looking down at the male he said, “I wouldn't dream of hurting Blake. She is my best friend you little shit!” The hound tried to fight his way out of Loki’s grasp but the cat had a good grip on his collar. Gil cursed to himself, he was starting to get desperate. “I am here to save her from you! I bet you were just about to take her back to Azazel and hold her for ransom, huh!? I know you and that stupid bird would be up to no good.” This had to be a trick! Though, Loki’s actions were convincing enough to state other wise. Why else would be be this pissed off? Though, the beast wasn't taking the hint.
What Gil did next was something he would surely regret. He was sick and tired of being treated like this. Reaching under Loki’s arms he grabbed the smaller male by his shirt. Then using his strength he picked him up and slammed his back against the cool brick wall. He held the smaller male there and looked him in the eye. Gil was challenging the fool who had decided to step to him. Despite being pissed as hell Gil’s eyes had yet to change to a blood red color. Those lovely orbs of his remained a dark green. Though there was a hint of anger hidden behind them. “Blake might be naive enough to fall for your tricks but I will not be so foolish.” The male growled. He knew full and well that today he wouldn’t be able to transform, not that he would need to. If all he had to deal with was Blake and Loki then he would be in the clear. This was possibly a good thing considering how bad things were starting to go. The last thing Gil needed was another death under his belt. Especially now that this was going down because of some bad blood and a simple misunderstanding.

Things almost seemed to be escalating rather quick. Blake's eyes went wide as Loki demanded that Guil come after him. They had met before! That explained why Loki's demeanor had changed with him. She was also internally feeling bad that she would lash out at her friend like this - like he was a child who did not know any better. She felt terrible. But on the other hand, she did not know how to take her best friend and Loki at one anothers throats. This was getting too real too quickly. The hardest thing was seeing Guil internally feeling low over repeating the words that he was not dangerous. She knew what he was capable of - but she did not care. She never did. It scared her - petrified her even. But Guil would have succeeded in killing her a long time ago. Although, the first time, he let her go. The second time, she would not have lived if it had not been for the police who shot at him.
She listened to the exchange between the two and found herself still feeling weak because of Guil. Yes, those feelings still lingered. However, they were diminishing. For the best. It may be because their bond was deeper due to her magic or even all the shit they had been through together, but damn! She still loved her friend and knew that her life had gotten better once she had gained his friendship. It only warmed her in this squabble. That was until Loki got into Guillotine's face, "Hey!" she called out cautiously and continued to call - that was when Guillotine retaliated and shared his thoughts on the matter. Blake immediately reacted. Grabbing at their hands and frantically trying to get them apart from one another, "THAT IS ENOUGH! STOP IT!!" she shouted and managed to fight her way in between them and their hands away from one another. Her frame remained close to Guillotine, but did not falter from Loki. As far as her being vicious to him.
"He's right, Loki... He wouldn't hurt me... And he is my best friend..." Her eyes then looked at Guillotine and gently took his hand in a reassuring manner, "I am sorry for being mean.. I was upset that you came in there obviously ready to start something... I know you wouldn't hurt me... but Loki," she then looked back at the blond male and found herself breathing a smidge heavier, "Loki wouldn't hurt me either... He's my friend..." Her hand then let go of Guillotine's and she found herself then feeling mildly irritated. She adored her friend and she was liking her new friend. Guillotine calling her naive was a bit irritating. He was wrong, but he was right as well. With that said, he basically said that his character sucked as well. Her eyes then fell before looking back at her hound friend, "And how is my judge of character bad? You just insulted yourself!" she barked and found herself then running her fingers through the teal locks that resided on her head. Sighing heavily as she was trying to collect her thoughts before looking between them.
Her curiosity resided in the fact that they knew one another. Her head then tilted to the side and she found herself speaking, "How the hell do you two know one another?" she asked softly and remained in her spot in the middle of the two 'animals'. Unaware that her new friend was also a creature. Her eyes beaming with questions that she was almost willing to demand that they be answered. It felt funny, she didn't want them to fight. Guillotine hated almost anyone that she hung out with. Mostly males. He had an issue with everyone. The only one he really didn't have a problem with was her mate when they became friends. That was only because he was forced to be kind to her. Then that false sense of kindness became real. Now, here they were. But lately, secret keeping and lying... That might be too much for her.

Loki followed the pair like a silent shadow while Blake dragged Guillotine off to a more secluded spot. The boy did not speak, he didn't even make a sound when Guillotine growled at him, choosing instead to glare daggers into the other male instead. This was going to get ugly, he could feel it. Things always got ugly when Guillotine got into the picture. The last time that he had met the other male the hellhound had tried to kill him. Loki knew that after that moment Gil would continue to hunt him down. It was only a matter of time till that happened. He was trying to prepare himself for when that time came. He was training himself to become a better fighter as fast as he could so he could hold his own against the fearsome dog the next time around. But Loki knew better than to expect Gil to show his ugly face by the time he was ready. There was always the chance that the two would have another run in before then. Knowing his luck Loki was prepared for that outcome to. But this, this was not what he had expected. It was one thing to bump into Guillotine on the street or something, but it was another to have him show up while he had company.
He had made a dangerous mistake hanging out with Blake tonight. He had unintentionally given Gil a new target just be association. He should have seen this coming, he should have rejected Blake's proposal and went back home. Just by being around Blake he had put her at risk to the worse being imaginable. That was the way how he saw it, but there was something off about this whole scenario. These two had met before. It was obvious to any idiot that they knew each other from the way they acted. This was more complicated than Loki had thought, but that didn't mean that his assumption was wrong. This wasn't the first time that Loki had met Blake. If he didn't visit her from time to time Gil wouldn't have known she even existed, but it was possible that he had tracked her down somehow from following him. It wouldn't be too hard for Guillotine to charm his way into Blake's life just so he could use her as a weapon against him.
Just thinking about that made the shifter furious. He couldn't let this guy take advantage of this woman. He had already lost someone dear to him in the past from his own mistakes. Just the idea of losing someone else from his own actions a second time would send him over the edge. He couldn't let this happen again. Loki stood in between the two at first to keep Guillotine from grabbing Blake if things turned sour. He knew well enough already how Guillotine worked, Azazel had warned him the first time that Guillotine had a habit of using hostages in dire situations, and he still remembered how often Guillotine had tried to grab him in their last battle. Gil always went for the weaker person. Blake would be the ideal target in this situation, she looked delicate and even smaller than Loki was. He would think she was the weaker link.
Loki listened to the others talk for a moment. He laughed at Gil's claims on how dangerous he was, he laughed even more when Gil had the gall to call him a sneaky bastard. “You are one to talk. You were the more devious out of us the last time we met. You acted all friendly at the start before you tried to rip my face off. Remember?” Two could play at this game. Loki so happened to be better at this than his opponent. It was so easy to throw Guillotine's accusations right back at him. After all what Loki was saying was true. Guillotine was dangerous in his book. He was a quick tempered, violent, selfish, manipulated brute. Gil could try to paint him as the bad guy all he wanted but no matter how hard he tried he only made it easier for Loki to point out his flaws. Loki's words were getting to the hellhound, the damn beast couldn't even look him in the eyes when Loki accused him of being dangerous. Gil's denial only made the boy smile, Gil's actions were only fueling the darker desires of the feline. “Really now? You can lie to me all you want but you can't lie to yourself Gilly. You know very well what you are. We both do. You are the kind of monster that will lash out at the people who just want to help you out. You did that to me remember? Don't tell me that you forgot how I saved your sorry ass, and even tried to offer you peace and you tried to kill me. For what? To take out some of your frustration with Azazel? How can I not worry about my little friend over there when I know what you will do to satisfy your need for vengeance?”
What Loki did next was down right dangerous. As angry and protective as Loki was right now he knew that he was asking from trouble when he grabbed Guillotine and pulled him down to eye level. Loki could talk big but he was no where near Guillotine's level. He was still the small vulnerable boy he was after their last fight, the only thing he had on him at all was a knife, an upgrade from the tiny little shiv he had used on Guillotine before but that was not enough to stop him. But he didn't care. Loki was so determined to keep Gil away from Blake that he was willing to be reckless just at the off chance he could scare the damn hound away from her. It was working too. Loki's bold actions seemed to have caught the hellhound off guard. Guillotine was unusually defensive when Loki started stepping into his personal space, and when Loki grabbed him he looked nervous. For a second there it really did look like Loki was the dangerous one. But things quickly changed. The more Guillotine panicked the quicker his anger got to him. In a flash Gil turned the tables around, he grabbed the little shifter and pinned him against the wall. The impact knocked the wind out of Loki for a moment, but the boy didn't seem to give into the bigger male. He hissed at the other male til Guillotine spoke up.
Now it was Loki's turn to be confused. Gil was still going on about being Blake's friend, he even went as far as to claim he was trying to protect her from him. What the hell was going on here? Doubt was starting to worm its way into Loki's mind, but Guillotine's accusation continued to add fuel to his fury. “Don't lump me in with a monster like you. I am not pathetic enough to go so low as attack someone, especially a woman, just to get back at you. I don't care if Blake is your friend, lover, or your god damn sister! I won't hurt anyone that I don't have a problem with. My beef is with you and it stays with you!” Before Loki could say or do anything else Blake suddenly stepped in and pried the two off each other. Loki didn't fight against her as she stepped between them, he merely watched and listened to what she had to say. What he heard only made him more confused. Wait...did she really call that thing her best friend?
“How...how long have you known this guy?” Loki asked, looking between the two cautiously. Maybe he really was wrong about this whole Gil planning to kill Blake thing? That would explain Gil's insistence on the matter. There was only one way to clear this up though, and that was how long ago they met. If they really were that close there was no way in hell that they had met in the time that Blake and he did. There was still a chance that this was some stupid scheme of Guillotine's if they just happened to become friends in the time that Loki had known her. He wouldn't know until he got an answer. In the mean time though Blake had a question of her own. The boy sighed, well there was no way that he could avoid that question. “It's a long story, but I will try to give you the gist of it.” Loki replied as he leaned against the wall. “Your pal over there and I met through a friend of mine. Remember my roommate that I told you about? He knew Gil in the past, he had asked me to help track him down so he could ask some questions about his missing girlfriend. I found Gil and brought them together like I was asked to, but I didn't know that their history together was less than pleasant. Things escalated pretty quickly. They fought, Gil got hurt pretty badly, and I had to step in to save his ass. That would have been the end of it if I didn't run into Gil again. Your friend seemed to be a bit nicer this time around and we started talking. Since I didn't want to have him and my friend to get into another fight I tried to persuade that bonehead into making peace but he decided to try and rip my face off instead as payback for my friend kicking his ass.” Loki sent another glare Guillotine's way before turning his attention back to Blake. “Luckily for me my roommate ran in just in time to beat him again. But now we are left in this awkward situation of wanting to rip each other's heads off. There is no point in you trying to keep that bastard away from me, he's going to try again the second you turn your back. That or hurt you if you keep standing in his way. Right Gil?”

The foolish girl was at it again. Blake seemed to have a knack for putting herself into possibly dangerous situations. The courageous witch pushed herself in between the arguing supernatuals. She appeared desperate to get Loki and Guillotine apart before they killed one another. Thankfully she managed to do just that. Oh, if Gil hadn’t been on his medication he would have snapped at her in an instant. Instinct didn’t discriminate against who Gil would attack. Anything with a pulse was a potential target for Guillotine’s fangs. Luckily for Blake she would get to live to see another day. The woman’s fingers wrapped around Gil’s hand. The touch alone caused the male to snap around and looked at her. Forest green eyes glared at Blake for a moment. Gil wanted to say a foul word or two but decided to keep his mouth shut. There wouldn’t be a winner in this battle of wills. The male then sighed before finally giving in. He reluctantly released Loki. Thankfully Blake was standing nearby or else Gil might have jumped on him again. All Gil wanted to do was pin the man on the ground and talk more shit. The hound wanted to belittle Loki in place of tearing into him. Neither of these were going to happen. Guil would just have to suck it up and deal with it.
Soon Blake’s soft hands found Gil’s. The beast had stopped his growling as soon as their hands touched. This simple gesture was calming him down a bit. There was a silent connection between the two. It reassured Gil that Blake wasn’t totally abandoning him for this new man and that she would be okay. Gil found himself looked over Blake once again. This time that angry scowl of his had disappeared. Once Gil relaxed Blake spoke. The male remained quiet. Listening to her lovely voice. Blake had apologized. The hound gave the woman a nod. “I-Its okay. I was only trying to protect you.” He then looked away, seeming a bit weary now. “I just don’t trust him...”
When Blake mentioned that Gil unintentionally talked bad about himself the hound didn’t come to his own defence. Blake did have a bad judge of character when it came to the hellish beast. Loki’s words were still lingering in that thick skull of his. It appeared to have put a damper on the hellhound’s mood. Sure, he wasn’t mad anymore. His anger had evolved into a completely different emotion, sorrow. No matter how hard Gil tried to deny it he knew he was a ticking time bomb just waiting to blow. Guillotine gazed over at Blake’s shoulder. Just under her clothes was a nasty scar that he had put there. The hound grimaced as he thought about that horrible night. If the cop wasn’t there to stop him Gil would have killed surly her. The hound wanted to argue against Loki and tell him that he wasn’t dangerous at all. However he didn’t have a single word to back up that claim. At the end of the day Loki was right. Gil was a threat to his friends. Why was he even friends with Blake at all? Hell, why was he even concerning himself with anyone for that matter? There was a chance he could attack and kill anyone. Feeling ashamed the beast remained quiet through Loki and Blake’s conversation. The look of guilt could be seen on his pale face.
The feline continued to talk down to Gil. The hellhound rolled his eyes. If Loki was a dog he would definitely be an ankle biter. Despite feeling contempt for Loki the feline’s words did make a bit of sense. Loki went on to explain that the only one he had a problem with was Gil. He wasn’t here to hurt Blake at all. Was it possible that both he and Blake were friends? As much as Gil would hate to admit it his answer was pretty believable. Blake was even there to agree. Apart of Gil began to relax. For once in his life he was going to trust Loki on this.
It was quite strange how the three knew one another from a previous meetings. Blake soon asked how the feline and the dog met. The shifter was quick to talk. Guillotine grimaced. He didn’t think Blake would like what she was about to hear. The hound took a step back from Blake as Loki explained their meeting. Guillotine wasn’t quite sure why he was feeling so emotionally distant from the two. Was it because of his medication? If he hadn’t been on it he would have started ranting and raving by now. He didn't even try to talk over Loki when he explained their previous meeting. Somthing wasn’t right, he wasn’t feeling quite like himself.
When Loki finished up Gil could feel the shifter’s eyes on him. What the cat said next did prompt a death glare from Gil. Did Loki believe that Gil would hurt Blake today? The male’s brow furrowed as he looked back at Loki. Would he attack Blake if she got into the middle of their fight? Sure, he was calm now but if he did not have his medication in his system would he kill Blake to get to Loki? Gil wanted to say no but doubt crawled into his conscious. He wanted to believe he wasn’t capable of doing such a thing. However, the evidence of his past fits stood right in front of him. The hair on the back of Gil’s neck began to stand on end. He couldn’t take much more of this. “S-Shut up...” It was all Gil managed to say. Mixed feelings swirled around inside of him. What was he to do? He could deny Loki’s story but really who was he kidding? God, he wanted to ring that cat’s neck but couldn’t bring himself to do so. Feed up with his emotions Guillotine plunged his hand into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette and a lighter. He lit up a smoke before pushing it into his mouth. Guillotine took in a long, hard, drag before allowing the smoke to creep from his mouth. The pain of what was going on in his head was numbed a bit. Though, this could only last for so long. The hound took a moment to calm down. Still guilt ridden Gil would speak. “Blake already knows what I am capable of, Loki. If you were wise you wouldn’t push me to that point.”

Man, why did these two hate one another so much? But when Loki explained the situation, Blake could see why. Her mouth allowed a sigh to escape as she then bit into her bottom lip. She couldn't fix this, as she was raised to believe that first impressions were a big deal. And in this case, they sort of were! There was a lot of mistrust here within each other. It was sad as they both were pretty cool people. But, it seemed Loki had known Guillotine's capabilities. Had this male seen her friend as a hound? Probably. There were times Guillotine couldn't help but change into his creature of which she truly did fear. But at the same time – she didn't fear him in that form. It was when he couldn't control himself that brought fear into her little heart. But to hopefully stop the fighting that was giving her a clear headache, she found herself answering Loki's question.
”We met when I was 18...” That was right… She was 18 when she met Guillotine and age just had not caught up to her. She still looked like she was just out of high school. She should be in her early 20s, right? She knew she wasn't truly 18. But it was as if time had frozen her in this age. It was a bit maddening. Her eyes narrowed to the ground before she sighed softly, ”I knew him for two maybe three years?” But she would keep their first meeting to herself. She wouldn't share that with anyone else. She might have told Raffe, but didn't tell him who did it. Blake found her fingers fumbling with her shirt before she began to speak, ”Our first meeting wasn't the greatest either… But there was a change of events that shifted our relationship to friendship. I'm – Loki, I'm a witch… I was with a Shadow Demon who enslaved Guillotine as a pet and made him my guardian… so to speak, when he wasn't around. Then… Shade left while I was pregnant… and Guillotine stayed with me… then...” She shook her head and tried to hold her composure. The next part was painful. Thinking about it only brought her to tears; she was no longer a mommy. She held her child while she was dying and then she was gone. Tears formed in her eyes but never escaped her lids to stain her cheeks, ”He stayed with me when I lost my daughter… So, Guillotine is my best friend…”
Little did she know that Loki knew that she was a witch. In fact, only her closesed friends knew this information about her. Guillotine found out the night that she met him; she bound him to her with a spell. The scars remained on their respective palms and kept them close knit. But, it would be a lie as well as truth to say that she didn't fear him. She knew what her friend was capable of and knew the dangers of not only being his enemy but being so close to him. She didn't care. She never did. The one time she ever cared was when she had every ounce of dignity stollen from her as well as her innocence. But she knew that there would never be a good experience with him. Though she still held lingering feelings for the beast, she would never act upon them, for he was in love with another and he was wanting to fix their relationship. She respected him for that. That was what helped her keep her distance from him. Blake only wished it could go farther than it had before and they could have that deep connection. However, she was just as happy being his best friend. As there was a chance that she would not have him at all in her life.
It was because of this connection, that she was tired of this exchange between them. She would have eventually known if Loki wanted to hurt her. Guillotine seems to forget that she can handle herself and forgets that there is a side of her that lingers deep within her. It was something that sat idly by and even she was unaware of it most of the time. But then, there were times that there was an inkling in the back of her mind. A dormant face that waited in the shadows to show itself. That was because of Khaine. It was all because of him. And she hated him for it. She hated him so much for that! But she signed a contract. She knew what she was getting herself into – as he gave her a contract to sign. But thinking about it now, she would have asked him to kill her. She would never redo this. Other than, maybe wait until she had her daughter before she got her soul back. But back to the current situation at hand. Blake exchanged a look of annoyance between the two and found her lips parting to speak, ”I know what he is capable of… I know he can hurt me… But I trust him with me.” She said softly to Loki, but did not let Guillotine off the hook that quickly. Turning her attention to him, ”Now a days, you don't give me enough credit… I would have known by now if Loki would hurt me… So at least by now, I would know if he would lay a harmful hand on me…” Her green gray eyes with a splash of blue began to lower to the ground.

Blake's question really put both men on the spot but Loki didn't blame her for asking it. Who wouldn't in her shoes? From the woman's perspective two people she thought of as friends were fighting in front of her, this fight wasn't anything spontaneous either, anyone could see that Loki and Guillotine had some history with each other. And oh what a history it was. The two didn't know each other long and already they wanted to kill each other. Talking to Blake about this did not sit well with the boy. While Loki had no problems rubbing in Guillotine's faults in his face that didn't mean he wanted to do so if that meant hurting Blake in the long run. What would Blake do if she knew the truth? Loki didn't know, but he wasn't in much of a position to dance around it. Not with Gil right here. He needed to answer the question, once more he had to answer it truthfully. Lying now wouldn't get anywhere, Gil would be quick to call him out if he tried to soften the details, no doubt he'd still find some reason to bitch when Loki told the truth. But that was fine, at least he would be the honest one.
He was quick to answer Blake's question from his perspective the best way possible. He didn't spare any details on the role he played in this little feud. Loki was man enough to admit his share of the blame for this situation. It was pretty surprising to see Guillotine take it. While Loki had chosen to be honest about what happened between him and the hellhound he expected some kind of retaliation, or at least some shifting the blame, or at the very least stupid name calling. But there was nothing. Not even a peep out of the big guy. Guillotine didn't even look all that angry about the issue. In fact he looked almost guilty hearing about it. That look of guilt plastered all over the beast's face was a common theme for him tonight. Loki was quick to pick up on that when they started talking, it was something that he had hounded Gil on to get even with him. It was a strange thing coming from the guy who seemed the least likely person to feel any sort of guilt but it was a welcoming sight. Gil needed that guilt, he needed to learn to take responsibility for his actions. Not just for the things that he had done to Loki but for everyone else in his life. Guilt was what helped fools like Gil learn from their actions. Loki would know, his own guilt kept him from repeating his own mistakes.
Would Gil finally learn something from the shifter? Loki didn't know, he wasn't even sure why he cared at all. Guillotine was a no good bastard yet there was something that pulled the boy to try and change the hellhound. It was the same compulsion that had driven him to save the fool's life the first time, and it looked like it didn't die even after Gil turned on him. Loki forced those thoughts out of his mind as he finished his version of the story for Blake. He was being foolish, there was nothing there compelling him to help Guillotine out. That was madness, and had little to do with this. That was what he thought anyway. Silence fell after the shifter spoke, Loki waited for Gil to act, expecting the hellhound to tell his side of the story, but that didn't happen. Gil wasn't the one to break the silence, it was Blake. Blake finally gave him an answer to his question, but she didn't just stop there. She told him everything. The sudden confession caught him completely off guard. Loki could do nothing more than watch her in shock as she spilled her heart out to him.
“Blake I...” Instinctively Loki walked towards, longing to wrap his arms around the girl and try to comfort her but stopped. What was he doing? He had no right to touch her. This was his fault. He wasn't responsible for the bad things that plagued her, but he was responsible for making her bring it up. “I'm sorry. I knew that you were carrying a lot of pain on your shoulders, but I had no idea that it was this bad.” He got it now, there was a lot to take in that he wasn't sure what to think about it all but he could understand what her problems were. And now he understood her and Gil's relationship. But now that he understood it a serious problem came to light. Loki dropped his gaze away from the other two as it dawned on him. He couldn't be around Blake anymore with Guillotine around. It was plainly obvious that Gil was a close friend of her's, and so long as they were enemies his presence would only make things worse on her. It was only a matter of time until one of them killed each other, what would happen with Blake then? He would only cause her more pain if he got any closer to her. Things were already getting complicated, Blake seemed attached enough to defend him which only made things worse.
“He's not completely wrong you know.” The boy said, bringing his gaze back to Blake's. “I might not harm you physically but that doesn't mean that I won't cause you some pain.” Loki sighed, this was not easy to do. It felt like his heart was breaking in two just speaking but he forced himself to do so. “I think being friends is a mistake for us. I don't have anything against you, believe me. It's not you, its me...or rather us.” Loki looked over at Guillotine for a moment as he spoke. His eyes no longer held any hint of anger to them. He wasn't speaking out of anger anymore. “There will come a day when we fight again, maybe not today, or tomorrow, but at one point we will. I rather not drag you into that, and you will get dragged into this one way or another. I have a bad habit of getting those close to me hurt from my own stupid mistakes.” He gave the woman a sad smile as he spoke. This really was for the best. Ever since he had come to this world he had brought suffering to those around him. It was his fault that Amalia died, he was even a burden to Azazel. It was bad enough that he dragged the only friend he had now into his own messes, but now he was unintentionally burdening Blake too with his feud with Gil. He only just got to know her but already he was causing her trouble. Why did he constantly made those around him suffer? “I'm sorry for wasting your time. Just forget about me, I am not worth your time. At least you have someone by your side that you can count on. Don't push him away.” With that Loki turned to leave. He had overstayed his welcome.

Guillotine really didn’t know what he would be doing right now if his cigarette hadn’t calmed him down when it did. The tall man took in a long, hard, drag before looking back at his two companions. This meeting was turning sour fast. There had been a simple misunderstanding that had caused the two men to draw battle lines. Now that the worst of it was over Gil was sitting back and trying not to make things worse. His medication allowed him to calm down for the most part. If he hadn’t taken it today there was a chance another fight would have broken out between Loki and himself. Only this time Blake would be caught in the middle. The combination of his cigarettes and medication was really saving Gil’s ass this time. He managed to stay calm in a situation where he would usually have started throwing punches. Guillotine wasn’t sure how to take all of this. He had been wrong about Loki. Maybe the little man wasn’t so bad after all? Guillotine kept quite. He wanted to set Loki straight and tell the little male everything that had happened between himself and Blake. However, he feared the cat would alienate him from Blake because of what he had done to her in the past. Surely, the feline wouldn’t want a potential killer and rapist to be anywhere near his friend.
When Blake began to speak Guillotine’s heart sank. The hound would look away from the two and take in a few deep drags of his cigarette. He appeared to be very nervous when Blake opened her mouth. Would she tell Loki what he had done to her on the night that they first met? That dreadful evening was fresh in Guillotine’s mind. It was almost as if it happened yesterday. Gil could recall trying to enslave the poor female after she had asked him not to kill her. In the end when he ordered her to kill a child for him she didn’t do it. He ended up killing it and punishing her for disobeying him. This punishment came in the form of rape.
Guillotine could remember her screams. Blake begged him to stop. She had fought back with all of her strength but Gil overpowered her. The female had been a virgin at the time of this attack. Guillotine did not know this until he began the act. It had been a pleasant surprise for him, not so much for his victim. No doubt Blake’s first time had been a painful one. Gil hadn’t been the least bit gentle with her. At one time he was happy that she struggled. It wouldn’t have been as much fun for the horrible predator. Thinking back on that now Gil became disgusted with himself. It was a wonder they were even friends at all. If raping the poor girl wasn’t bad enough Gil also took it upon himself to hurt her yet again. He’d left a nasty scar on her neck. To Gil it was a constant reminder that he couldn’t be trusted, even around his friends. Though Blake quickly made it clear that Gil should give her a little more credit. The woman was more than capable of taking care of herself. Gil merely snorted at this.
Guillotine looked away from the two completely as Blake explained how long they had known each other. Gil almost turned his back to them as he listened to the woman speak. Luckily, she kept most of the really bad stuff under wraps. However, she did manage to say something that made Gil look up at her. The look of surprise had replaced his guilty expression. The woman spoke of her dead child. Gil knew it had been hard on Blake to lose the little baby. The female was never the same after that incident in her home. She was really putting it all out there for Loki. She must have trusted him to some extent. Blake never really talked about the child much and the hound could understand why. Even while the woman spoke Gil could feel her sorrow radiating off of her. Her looked pained to talk about her deceased daughter. Soon enough the woman teared up while she spoke of Khaine and how she had his child and lost it. Gil noticed Loki’s facial expression had changed. He no longer looked angry. In fact he appeared to be quite upset. Did he really care for Blake? It appeared so.
With a sigh Gil walked over to Blake and placed a gentle hand onto her shoulder. He wanted to reassure her that everything was okay. Looking over at Loki he noticed the smaller male had taken a step closer to Blake. He looked as if he wished to console her but decided not to. For what reason Gil did not know. The sadness he held for Blake wasn’t a lie. Gil could see it in his eyes. Soon Loki spoke. His words caused the hound to think. Gil wasn’t the only one with baggage he had to carry. It appeared that Loki wasn’t exactly perfect either. He explained that it wasn’t exactly Blake’s fault that they shouldn't be friends. It was the fact that both he and Gil were in a feud that he didn’t want Blake to get wrapped up in. When Loki looked over at Gil the hound could tell he wasn’t playing around. What he had said was true. Blake was bound to get hurt if their little battle continued. Did Gil really want to make amends with Loki for Blake? Apart of him did. However, another side of him wanted to have nothing to do with the feline. Mostly because of his affiliation with Azazel. Without Azazel in the picture Loki wouldn’t be so bad. Guillotine watched as the feline spoke one last time. His words had cause Gil to look away once again. It was getting difficult to get angry at this male. He wasn’t entirely a bad guy. Could Gil have been wrong to treat him like this? Regardless, Gil would not stop Loki when he began to walk away. Maybe I was wrong about him... he thought to himself.

The girl was truly the youngest one here. She was the only human, however, what separated her from other humans, was that she was a witch. She felt things differently and she saw the world a little differently than the others of her human kind, did. She accepted most races, but kept an open mind to everyone. Demons were a little harder – with the acception of the hound that still remained close enough that she could feel his presence radiating off of her. A stray tear managed to break free abd found itself sliding down her cheek and leaving a single stain. The memories flooded back about everything that had happened to her. However, her mind kept the negative memories of Guil locked in the back of her mind. She knew what he did, but why bring those memories back? It wouldn't do her any good and he said he was sorry. It was clear that she was one to forgive, but never forget. And she would never forget what happened between them. But, there were so many good times. She could never tell Guillotine to stay away. He intrigued her and only made her smile when he was around her. Then, she told him to go away, because she wanted to be alone. That was after she and El got together. Then, she eventually pushed everyone away. Their reunion was an interesting one, as she woke up from a night terror and Guil just so happened to be outside her door. Only to get into her apartment and make sure she was ok. When she came back to him, settling from her terror, she held onto him as if she couldn't hold on to anything else. That was one of her favorite memories of him.
Her mind came back to the present as Guillotine touched her shoulder for reassurance. That made things a little easier on her. He remembered that time too. He remembered her pain – he remembered every little thing about that night. That night, he truly made sure she had everything needed. El, was something, because he could have made that delievery easier. And he did. She wanted her other friend with her, for her support. Because she trusted her. Guillotine made sure she had all that – including him. She couldn't be mad at him for every long. That is what these experiences had taught her. Maybe it was the forgive and forget stuff that people always talk about. She was good at forgiving people. Hot then there was the fact that even Guil knew she was forgiving to a fault. She wished she could hold a grudge when she needed to, but that wasn't her. She coouldn't do that to someone – no matter how badly they had hurt her. A hand absentmindedly reached up to touch Guillotines, giving him a silent thank you as she knew what that one little gesture of his was intended for. It only warmed her heart a little more to know that she had such an affect on a creature such as him. It made her appreciate him a little more than usual. A smile graced her pale lips before she was torn from her thoughts. Watching Loki. He seemed to want to console the small girl. Wishing thhat there was something he could do, but there wasn't. Her child would never come back, no matter how many times she was consoled. She only remembered her face. Everything she did in the few moments before she was gone. But there was only one thing that hurt a litle more. The people who stayed with her – they all said their condolences, but everyone at least once had said that her daughter looked just like her. Just as she looked exactly like her mother. A strange pattern in their family, that the first born female, always looked just like the mother. And her first born daughter, looked exactly like her. She wondered if the next time she had a daughter – would she carry the same trait, as her sister did not live…
A sadness took over – wanting to tell Loki that he could touch her; he could hold her in his arms. But then, that stopped. He began to speak and the words that fled his mouth made her heart sink, forming a lump in her throat. What was he truly saying?! He didn't want her friendship, because he was worried more about her getting sucked into the middle of everything? As kind as that was, it was, to her, a rather selfish act. Why hurt someone at the expense of protecting them? It was an oxymoron. There were things, creatures, anything in this world she could be suseptable to. She knew that if Guil or any other creature wanted to, her life would end and there were be no more Blake. Just because she was 'immortal' didn't mean she was unstoppable. She could be slain or get deathly ill. Time just simply stopped for her once she got her soul back. It was like her body couldn't fully reboot, like a damaged computer. She wondered what it would take to make her mortal again. Would she really want to be mortal again? She gets to stay the same age until illness or a fatal injury could end her. Even black magic from another magic user could kill her. Such as what she had done to that hellhound at the night club the night that Guillotine almost took her life. She could tell just how much Loki cared for her, and she couldn't blame him. It was in these moments as he spoke that she could see just how similar they were. Blake only pushed people away, which in turn made people worry about her. Loki seemed to cut ties and run. Blake didn't want that. She wanted his friendship. Him ending their friendship was what hurt. Her heart began to pound in her chest as she pulled from her friend and ran to Loki. Her arms wrapping around his waist. Her head pressing to his back and gripping his shirt in her elegant hands. She remained silent for a little bit. This silence was enough for her. As she was trying to gather the words to say. She didn't want his friendship to end as there was something that lived inside her. Something that told her she wanted him in her life and she was willing to do anything to keep him there. Even if it meant putting herself in harms way to keep him there. Anything… But why leave her? What would this solve? Nothing. In her eyes, at least.
Her head snuggled into her back and she found herself tearing up, finally parting her lips to speak what was on her mind, ”Please don't…” Her voice was soft and her words seemed to shake. She didn't want to fall apart. It was because of Guillotine that she had learned to hold her composure. She bit into her bottom lip before parting her lips to speak again, “”You're leaving hurts more than something hurting me and you being unable to protect me… I don't know why… And you may find me crazy…. But something says I am supposed to know you… And I am not willing to watch you walk away….” She continued to press her head into his back. Closing her eyes and holding him just a little tighter. Reassurance that she did not want him to leave her alone.
”Please… don't go….” Her little fingers clutching his shirt a little tighter.

The longer Loki listened the more the shifter began to realize the problem he had walked into. Blake and Guillotine really were friends. They had a long and troubled history between them before he had even come into the picture. It wasn't the best situation but Loki would have been fine with that if it wasn't for his current situation with Gil. The longer he thought about it the more he realized that he shouldn't be here. This wasn't some stupid squabble that he and the hellhound were in. They were for a lack of a better word at war with each other. With the tension between the two men growing it was only a matter of time before one of them killed each other. What would happen to Blake when that happened? Could he even guarantee her safety in all of this? The more he thought about it the more he began to realize that he couldn't. If she and Gil were as close as she claimed they were she would get hurt, if not physically she definitely would suffer emotionally. Loki couldn't bear the thought of hurting her more than she already was. This poor woman had suffered so much in the past, all he was doing was making it worse.
He didn't want this. He didn't want to make anyone else suffer from his own actions. He would do anything to stop this fight. If he could he would try to end this stupid feud between him and Guillotine for Blake's sake, but he knew that wouldn't be possible. He had already tried to end things peacefully with Gil before and he had been attacked for it. Though the hellhound had no idea at the time that Loki knew about Blake he doubted that Gil would stop trying to kill him now that he knew. Even if they could somehow make up there was still Azazel to worry about. So long as Azazel and Gil hated each other this madness would never end. Loki owed the fallen angel too much to physically stop him from killing Gil, though it wasn't like he was capable of physically stopping Azazel from taking his vengence anyway. No matter how he looked at this there was no happy ending for anyone here, not for him, not for Gil, and certainly not for Blake.
There was only one thing that he could do, that was to leave. Breaking all ties with Blake wasn't the ideal solution. He knew well enough that he was only adding to her problems by doing what he was about to do. But what more could he do? Staying by her side would hurt her in the long run. The little human was not the kind of person that could just sit back and watch two people that she cared about try to kill each other. She would try to get in the way, and if she did she could end up getting killed. Even if Loki could somehow keep her from getting in the way she would fall into despair when one of them died. Leaving now was the lesser of two evils. She might be sad now, but she would eventually stop caring about him. As far as Blake knew they had only met twice, there was barely anything that bound them together unlike with Guillotine. She would be less lonely and heart broken without him than he would be without her.
Yes, she didn't need him. With that thought in mind he turned to leave. Blake needed someone better in her life than him. All Loki ever seemed capable of doing was bringing pain in other people's lives, burdening them, or worse. It was thanks to him that the one person he had ever been close to in his life was dead. Even with Azazel he felt like he was nothing more than a burden. He had promised to stick with the angel and help him out but ever since he had started living with the man all he brought him nothing but trouble. Between having to save the shifter from a violent gang, and saving him from the clutches of Guillotine Loki was starting to feel like more of a liability than helpful. Now there was Blake. Why couldn't he stop making those he got close to suffer? Well, at least he could try to save Blake from further pain. He was determined to do that at all costs.
But Blake wasn't going to make this easy. Loki didn't get to far before Blake ran up behind him and grabbed him. Loki forced himself to a halt when he felt the young woman's arms wrap around him. “Blake, let me go.” the boy's heart grew heavy as he felt her crying on his back. Feeling her like this made him want to cry, but he didn't. He had cried himself out years ago. There was nothing left for him to shed, the only thing left to him was despair. When Blake finally spoke that crushing feeling only grew. He knew that he was doing the right thing but she was making this difficult. He was starting to doubt himself now. In his heart Loki didn't want to do this, he hated the thought of leaving Blake this way. They had only known each other for a short time but he couldn't seem to bear the thought of parting with her. He didn't know why but he couldn't. He would have hesitated if his thoughts didn't drift back to Amalia. The image of her lifeless body in his arms brought him back to his senses.
“I will do a lot worse to you than this.” Loki gentled pulled Blake's arms apart and turned to face her, his face seemed almost void of emotions, virtually unreadable as he spoke. “You have no idea what kind of person I am or the kinds of things I have done. If I don't go now you will suffer more than you are right now. I've seen the price those that get close to me suffer for it. But it's taken tonight for me to finally clue into that. Being close to you, no...not just you but anyone is a mistake. I don't want to make anyone suffer because of me, especially you. Haven't you suffered enough already?”

She froze in the moment. What was he saying? How could he do this? She tried to pull her current emotions from the situation before them, but it was hard as she felt herself falling apart inside. But why?! She just met him! How could she feel this strongly about him when they were strangers not that long ago. But she listened. She listened to his words and found herself closing her eyes. She wished to let him know that he also had no idea of her, himself. Though, she thought he was unaware. Closing her eyes, she felt some heavy tears pour down her face. She understood the point he was making. She understood it well. How many times have she and her best friend had this conversation before – in her head, at least. They never truly talked about it, but she was sure he might have felt that way before. Lord knows, she thought about it once or twice. Not about him, thought. It was about herself! Blake was notorious for leaving him alone and telling him the same damned thing over and over again, 'I need some alone time… I don't feel right...'
She too knew the throws of being selfish. She knew this feeling that Loki was expressing all too well. Then she wondered, if she and him agreed to go somewhere else, to avoid Guillotine, would tonight have turned out different? Then she felt worse for feeling this way. She loved her hound friend's presence. He made her feel safe. It wasn't so much the romance that was once felt for him. It was the fact that friends should also make you feel safe. He made her feel safe. He jumped when she needed him. Now, she was being selfish. As she had been. Guillotine was making things right with his mate. And here he was defending someone that was not her. Why was she also so damned selfish? It had to have been the fact that no matter what race you were, you were going to feel selfish, with no strings. Sometimes with strings. But tonight, they wer having so much fun, why this change of heart? Was it something she said or did – besides her being friends with Guil. Maybe that was it? Maybe that was why he was throwing her friendship with him away…? This stupid war was hard to go through, cause now she almost felt like she had to be in the position that she had to pick. Despite that he didn't put her in that position, persay. He never said the words. Not that if she decided to go that route – it would change a thing. Plus, the loss of Guillotine would crush her.
Her eyes remained on Loki, feeling a lump form even harder in her throught. Forcing her to feel pain. Causing her hand to extend to her collar bone. He had asked if she had suffered enough. She licked her lips and found herself keeping retracted into herself. Her eyes still upon him before she found more tears staining her cheeks, ”Why are you saying? Wh-why?” she asked shakenly. Gently taking his hands. Probably a bold move, but she didn't care. She wanted Loki, here. She didn't want him to leave her alone. Why, so strongly for someone she didn't know?! Her tongue licked her lips gently as she tried to hold her composure for him. Her head tipping to the side as she tried to pick up every piece she had from the ground and hold it all together. All for this moment. Then, she remembered something he had said. That he had seen the consequenses of getting close to him can do. There was something deep here. There was something he wasn't telling her. Not that it was any of her business of what he had endured.
She gripped his hands a bit tighter and found herself shaking her head, ”Don't say that to me…” She said softly, ”I don't care about what you did… That was then… I don't know a lot about you, but that will come with time… Please don't cast me aside...' Absent mindedly, she took one of his hands and placed it to her cheek. Her tears mindling with his palm and his fingers. Closing her pale eyes and allowing any tears she had to clame, but instead, it just got harder and harder to resist. She knew he was worried about anyone being so close to him. But this was also her decision. This was her fight as well. At lease, in this moment in time. Her eyes finally reopened, ”This is also my decision, isn't it…? I say… I can handle more than you give me credit for… Why won't anyone give me that credit? And I stand by what I said… you leaving me will hurt me more than what you can ever throw at me...” She said with a slight hitch in her voice. Keeping his hand to her cheek.

Why was life so complicated? Just when things finally looked like they were going to clear up life threw something awful in his direction. Loki didn't think that things could get any worse after he had lost his best friend. Of course he had no intentions of letting things get to that point. His resolve was the very reason that he had been alone for so long. He forced himself to stay alive in order to keep his final promise to that dead girl, he lived in poverty, constantly moving from place to place, he had no sense of direction or purpose but at least he was still breathing and wasn't a bother on anyone else. But that changed once he came to New Orlands. Thanks to some strange twist of fate he allowed himself to open himself to someone. He finally had a purpose in life, it might have just been some deal he made out of desperation to save his own skin but it was something to hold onto. And the one he made that deal with was more than a master to him. For the first time in a long time he had a friend, living with Azazel made him feel less alone. The angel's presence even made him want to be more open to others.
But that came at a price. It always did. Loki didn't want to leave Blake like this. She was a nice girl, she was pained by her past, but she wasn't completely broken by it. Seeing her for who she was made him want to reach out to her. He wanted to get close to her, he wanted to help her but all of that changed once he knew who she was attached to. If Gil wasn't the murderous psychopath that he was things would have been different. He would not have cared if the person over Blake's shoulders was some rival. He could handle one guy that didn't like him. But this feud was deeper than that. One day Gil would come to kill him again, when that day came Loki didn't know which one of them would survive. Now with Blake in the mix there was a good chance that she might get in the way to try and stop them. Just thinking about that made his heart lurch. The last time he had been in a similar situation he lost someone important to him.
He couldn't bare to go through that again. If he had to push Blake away to prevent that then he wouldn't hesitate to do so. This was not her fight, nor should it be. The more he intruded on her life the worse he would make her life. He wouldn't ask her to take sides on this, or ask her to turn the other cheek. He would just make that decision for her. Was that selfish? Perhaps, his personal fears did play a role in his decision but he wasn't just thinking about himself here. He knew what would happen here and he was choosing the path that would cause the least amount of suffering because of it. Yet looking at Blake now it didn't look like he was saving her, it looked like he was only making things worse. She was crying. He knew this would probably happen but seeing the woman in tears for real felt entirely different. Loki didn't like making women cry, he had been taught at an early age to please girls. Seeing the pain he was causing on a woman made him hate himself all the more. But he held firm.
“Because its the truth. It might sound crazy or like some stupid excuse to you but I am being honest. As things stand now you will only suffer from a friendship with me. There is no point in trying.” There was no point in trying with anyone. Loki had been a fool. He let his experience with Azazel cloud his judgment. The boy wasn't even sure that he could remain by the angel's side for much longer. He had a debt to pay but seeing how things with Blake were going how could he think that things with the angel would go any better? He was already a burden on the man, and would be a burden on this woman. He wanted to let go and be done with it, but Blake wouldn't let him. This human female was a stubborn one. When he wanted to pull away from her she only held on tighter. As the male spoke Blake grabbed his hands. It would be easy enough to escape from but her touch caught him off guard.
Blake held onto this hands as she pleaded with him to stay. When she tried to brush his past aside he couldn't help but chuckle bitterly. She wanted him hear with her so badly that she would ignore the past that she didn't even know just for him. He didn't know if he was suppose to feel touched by that statement or call her a fool. Loki wasn't the cruelest monster in the world but he was still far from innocent. What would happen if she found out the truth about him? Could she still forgive him for his weakness then? Even if she did that didn't matter. It wasn't fear of being judged by others that bothered him, it didn't matter how many people condemned him for his past or how many would forgive him. So long as he condemned himself he could never be saved. “No it won't.” the boy replied. “You will never know the truth about me even if we were friends. I am not as open as you are about yourself. The things in my past are my own burden to bear and I choose to bear them alone. You can dismiss them all you want and say that they don't matter to you, but they matter to me. All I am trying to do is not repeat the same mistakes again. If you really care that much then you would let me go.”
It seemed that no matter what Loki said Blake refused to listen. Even as he spoke Blake didn't let him go, she even drew his hand to cup the side of her face. The feeling of her tear stained cheek tied his stomach in knots, but it was what she said next that really got to him. Loki looked away as tears started to form in his eyes. It was like he was dealing with Amalia's ghost all over again. His friend had always been like this, despite being sickly and more fragile than most of her peer's Amalia was always so strong willed and stubborn. She hated being seen as weak and hated having others take care of her. How many times had she fed him lines like this? It was things like this that made him like her. She didn't let her physical weaknesses stop her and that was what made her so strong to him.
And yet she died. For all her talk and stubbornness she died because she was too weak, and he was even weaker for letting that happen. How was Blake any different than her? “Why? Why do you people never listen to me?” Loki pulled away from the woman and took a step back from her. When he looked back into her eyes his own gaze was filled with anger and grief. He had enough of this. Amalia never listened to him when he had tried to look out for her and she was dead because of it. He wasn't going to let that happen again. “Do you think I really care what you can or can't handle? Would that make the pain I could end up bringing to you any easier to see? And what about the worse case scenario? No amount of tolerance will save you from death. All I want is to stop making others suffer but all you want to do is drag me back into it again, and for what? Something that is doomed for failure anyway?” Loki backed off once again, turning his eyes away from Blake's as drew back. “P-please don't make me have to go through that again.”

Blake stood there, staring at him. In reality – it had felt as though she had been shot. She might as well have been with the look across her face that seemed to vanish with every word the shifter had said. Though, she stood and took it. She listened to every word. She did not mean to offend, but now she was giving up on the fight for his friendship. This was one of the reasons why she hated to leave her home. This was one of the reasons why she, now, hated to make new friends. If she wasn't pushing them away – they certainly pushed her away. But she stood there. Emotionless. Wordless. There was nothing. A part of her wished that Guillotine would say or do something – touch her arm! Anything! But there was nothing. Just Loki venting his feelings and Blake taking in every word. Once every word got the opportunity to seep in, the pain began to sting. She tried to keep that to herself and to keep herself from wanting to cry more. However, she ignored the tears that streamed down her face. Her expression – she might as well have been paralyzed. She didn't flinch. She probably didn't even blink. She didn't know. It was as if time had stopped and there was nothing left in her world. Her hunches weren't usually wrong. She knew how she felt. That there was something there – not romantically, but some sort of hold that the two were tied together somehow. And then – there was no more.
What had she done? Why? Why all this? Again, the young woman didn't mean to offend anyone. She truly didn't. It seemed she had. Or so – that was almost how he made it seem. He was trying to protect her, but she didn't want it. She didn't need some sort of hero who believed he knew what was best for her. No! But no matter what – this would be what she got and she would have to abide by his wishes. As much as she wished to not do. Why the tears? Why did it hurt so much? If her aunts were here, they might say that there was something deeper for this boy that she was completely unaware of. But why? There was nothing there. She was not romantically involved and there was no feelings. This might simply be just her own mind trying to sort other things out and jumping to each irrational conclusion that it could. And this was totally irrational. Drawing a conclusion such as this would only mean that right now, her mind was going several miles a minute. Processing his words and then her mind interpreting this and making its own conclusions. Though, they were all true. Her superego, now, was beating her up. Jumping to the conclusion that she had done something wrong. That might just be easier to this inevitable end. She watched as he stepped away from her. Her hands falling to her sides, just as lifeless as her expression. Finally, her pale lips parted to speak.
”I understand, Loki.” her voice was monotone. She sounded almost as lifeless and emotionless as she looked in this moment of time. She took one more step towards him, ”Goodbye.” Blake stepped around him and walked out of the alley. She said nothing more. Only walked, headed back to her vehicle. Once she was out of view of Guillotine and Loki, she stepped into a faster pace then a light trot. A light jog. All working their way up to the point where she ran as fast as she could to her car. Falling apart as each step had changed. Emotion rushed back to her face. Sobbing on her way back to the car. Never, had she been put down like that. Been given a taste of her own medicine. Was this how she made Guillotine feel? Did he ever get this hurt when she told him to go away? She fumbled through her pocket for her keys once she reached her vehicle. However, she felt herself searching in frustration. She cursed, hearing her keys hit the ground below. But rather than going for her keys, she crumbled to the Earth below. Sobbing heavily. Hunching forward and holding herself. As now, she felt alone.
