Blake was finally off her shift. Today seemed to be a good day! She was really busy and it seemed like there was hardly any downtime in the clinic. She signed people in to see their doctor and assisted in doing a lancing to a staph infection as well as the aspiration to a cyst under a gentleman's arm. All in all, today was a great day and she was grateful for her job. There were some women who did not want to do their job properly or even those who were only there for the money. Money wasn't the reason the girl was here. It was the reward of all the hard work she had done to get here as well as all the smiles she put on the patients faces when she would leave the room, just to make their lives a smidge easier than it was before by knowing someone care about them. And she did. She cared about everyone that came into the clinic. By the end of her shift; the multicolor haired girl had made her way into the locker room and began to shower and change. After that, she would leave and would come back the next time she had to be on shift. This job didn't keep her on call like some did. However, she had been on call before, because they were short on nurses in her division as some of the girls had quit because they felt they weren't getting paid enough.
As she walked out into the parking lot, she had thought about how good this night was and how she was feeling. She felt great. The job worked her ad a fast pace which kept her moving, be it mentally or physically. It was a nice feeling! And tonight, she felt the sweet tooth kick in! She wanted something sweet and yummy. A little treat to end in a good night of work. As she drove, this feel good feeling was accompanied by the feeling of wanting to share this with some company, but who would she share it with? She wouldn't just call any of her friends out of the blue - no matter how good she felt. It was no offense to anyone who she was friends with. But, Blake truly did feel great and was feeling so much better now that she had a place to go during the day and was doing something that she had found meaningful in life. She wasn't stuck anymore and she was focusing on herself. But - this great feeling.. It was almost too good to waste on being by herself. This gave her a feeling that maybe she would run into someone. That was what she hoped. But, if she did not she would spend the evening alone and head home. Still feeling good about her day. She made her way to the district to where they would have what she was looking for.
Blake began to wonder about her friends, hoping that they were all ok and they were doing great things. Or were just happy. The happiness was what mattered most to her. She wished she could see any of them or meet with a new friend or someone she could get to know better. But out of all her friends, she missed a good select few the most. But this was all her fault. She set herself up to not having her friends so much in her life. She pushed everyone away when times were getting tough for her. And with that said, she pushed every single person away. There were times that could get too much not only for her but definitely for them. Maybe she should suck it up and call someone. Apologize and just try to amend their friendship. If there was anything to amend. Maybe she was seriously over thinking? She was certain she was deeply just over thinking something that was insignificant. Not that that was excusable to the fact that this was a constant pattern that she repeated. She would learn now that this was the time to keep those people close to her that she wanted and maybe even needed.
She would have thought more on the subject, but her attention was pulled. She had found the brightly lit up sign of the sweet shop that not only had baked goods, but frozen goods as well. A smile graced her pale face as she pulled a loose strand of hair behind her ear, just after she parked. Her pale eyes looking up at the sign, still smiling wide as she bit into her bottom lip and climbed out of her vehicle, gently humming to herself as she pushed her purse over her shoulder.

Night had fallen on New Orlands by the time Loki started to make the long trek back home. Today had been a long eventful day, much like any other day in the boy's life. Most of it had to do with business. Since Loki had stopped living on the streets the shifter had been searching for things to do. Most of the time he had spent at first was exploring the city to get his bearings and doing odd jobs for his roommate, and in general to help out financially. It wasn't easy to find a stable job in the city. It never had been easy to find a job at any city for the boy. Too many places were quick to turn him away. This place was no different. Honest work was hard to come by. But that didn't mean that there wasn't anything available. It took a little searching for Loki to eventually find some work. Most of what he did was odd jobs here and there, most were shady at best but they paid well. Really well. Loki was really starting to like these jobs, they were a little more risky than stealing, but they were more complex and interesting. And with the higher pay off he couldn't help but love it.
Today's pay off put the shifter in a good mood. Ah today was a good day. He couldn't wait to get back home and relax for the rest of the night. The only down side was how long it would take. Today's venture had taken Loki farther from home than he would have liked. It would take a bit of walking to head back home. It wouldn't have been a bother if he could have taken some shortcuts to get back home but Loki wasn't going to risk that. It had been awhile since the shifter cut corners to get to and from places. Since his last encounter with Guillotine the little shifter didn't feel as safe as he had before about going anywhere alone. He was able to escape the dangerous hellhound once, but he wasn't sure how well he could manage a second time. He wouldn't risk it again if he could help it. There was no doubt in his mind that Guillotine would come after him again, if Gil wanted him then he would make things difficult.
That's why he stuck to walking the streets where he could hide amongst the crowds just to be safe. Gil could be stupid and reckless but he wasn't dumb enough to try to chasing Loki down in a crowd of people. That trick didn't work as well after dark though. If he wandered off in the night too late there wouldn't be a lot of people that Loki could use as cover. Luckily that wouldn't be a problem tonight. There was still quite a lot of people out and about in this part of town. That didn't come as much of a surprise to Loki, the shopping district was one of the most lively areas of the city. He could always count on this place being crowded enough to hide in whenever he got in trouble.
Loki tried to shake off those thoughts as he walked down the street. There was no need to think about trouble tonight. The day was done, soon enough he would be home and wouldn't have to worry about scary canine stalkers or anything else for that matter until tomorrow. There were more important things to think about. Maybe I should try cooking something to eat when I get back... the boy wondered. If there was one thing that Loki liked to do it was cook. The shifter's passion of human food eventually made him start trying out making food of his own. It was a nice relaxing hobby that he liked to do, and he was getting pretty good at it too. It would be nice to treat himself and his roommates tonight. He could make something, or better yet bring something back home with him.
Just as that thought came to mind Loki noticed something interesting. The boy stopped in front of the shop, a small smile on his face as he eyed the goods. The shop in question happened to be a bakery, or at least something close to that. According to the sign they didn't just sell baked goods but frozen goods too. This was the first time he had seen this shop before. Maybe it was a new shop, or perhaps he just missed it in the past. But now that he was here it caught his fancy. Loki eyed the shop for a moment, debating on if he should go inside or not. It wouldn't hurt for him to go in and get something for him and his friends back home would it?

Blake was happy she had come across this place. It would cover maybe a strange need for something cold and maybe something baked. Not that she really needed all the sugar, however, the frozen yogurt was fat free and was easier on the stomach this late. But she really wanted something else, like a brownie or a poppy seed muffin. Oh, the choices she would have! It was a matter of trying to figure out what pastry she wanted. She wanted vanilla frozen yogurt with a few toppings of choice. That was where the sugar would really come from. Why the hell was she watching her figure. It wasn't like she really needed to! The girl was slender enough - minus the mommy to be curves that haven't left her body just yet from her pregnancy. That was still hard to think about. She remembered sitting on her floor and begging for her daughter to stay with her. Then, she was gone. Now, she was almost afraid to have another baby, after having lost the last one. Her face suddenly drifted to sadness and she almost didn't want to get her treat.
Her head suddenly shook. She wasn't going to be sad! This was a good day and she deserved something nice - like something sweet to reward herself with. It only made her smile a bit to think about. She wasn't going think about her daughter, tonight. She wasn't going to go down a path of sadness and despair. At least, not this evening. She could wallow in sadness another night. If not, she would keep the best memories close to her. Not that sad night. She would remember what it felt like when her child would move about when she would talk to her belly or how she would respond to some of the music the baby would like. Those, she would remember. She would try to hold a lot of good memories to herself to keep her days brighter. She would also keep herself busy so she wouldn't have to allow her mind to think about negativity. That was always the easiest. Thinking of negative things that could bring her down and make her sad. She had to do a lot of changes and keep with it just to make sure she could keep her mind clear. It would be great!
As her legs carried her to the sidewalk, she found herself stopping, noticing someone familiar. Suddenly she felt so bad. She ran off the last time she saw him and didn't give him an exact reason why. If anything, she kept insisting that she needed to go and that she would have to see him some other time. She felt so terrible. She remembered that confused, sad look across his face. She couldn't believe that she did that to someone she just met. It was one thing to do that to your friends who already know her, however, she wanted to make it up to Loki. This time would be better. This time, she would do things the right way. This time, she would explain that none of this had to do with him. That it was all her and she was getting over some stuff. Maybe tonight, she would tell him that she was a witch? Granted, she just met him, but something about him said that she could trust him. And trust him, she did. She licked her lips and sucked up her pride. This was not going to be easy.
"H-hey, Loki."
Loki was his name. That was his name. It rang familiar in her eyes, as half of her background was from Scandinavia. A smile graced her lips, she wanted to seem confident, but not too confident. She didn't want him to think that she forgot about how she acted in the bakery the time they met. So she bit her lip for a moment, feeling her smile tone itself down just a little. Now sighing softly and approaching him. She figured she would start with an apology first, "Hi... I don't know if you remembered me... But... I want to say that I am sorry... for the other day at the bakery..." She looked away for a moment before looking back at him, "My running out, had nothing to do with you... I'm getting over some stuff... and I panicked and ran..."
She wouldn't blame him if he wanted to not talk to her anymore. She wouldn't blame him if he decided to take off running. A light breeze picked up and blew some of her hair in her face; elegant fingers began to brush them from her eyes. Softly sighing and looking back down the street. A part of her was happy that she found him, but was scared. She probably really hurt his feelings and she didn't mean to - at all. From what she remembered of him, he was very sweet and he could quite possibly be one of the best friends she could ever ask for - besides Guillotine. But that bridge would be crossed when she and Loki got to it, if she ever got to the friendship level with him. She gently tapped her foot against the pavement and glanced inside the parlor. Now, realizing that he was about to head in there as well. A smile grew on her face as she found her eyes falling back onto him.
"Would you like to join me - again? Start over?" A sweet smile across her face, "My treat?"

Should he go in? That was the question on the shifter's mind at the moment. While it was after dark it wasn't so late in the night that he had to worry about wasting time loitering about outside till he got back home. There was little problem for him to go spend a little time shopping on his way back home. It couldn't hurt right? He was planning on at least making something for him and his roommate anyway, buying something was one step better. He wouldn't have to worry about making a big mess that he would have to clean up later. Besides he liked sweets better. Ah yes, Loki had a big sweet tooth. The male had fallen in love with the sweet treats of the human world ever since he came here. It was hard for him to pass up a sweet treat or two whenever he came into enough money to afford to do so. As of late he had plenty of money, but never had the chance to take advantage of it. That would all change tonight. Loki was just about to go inside the little shop when he heard someone call out to him. The boy stopped in his tracks the second he heard that voice. There was no mistaking that sweet voice, it belonged to no one other than-
“Blake?” Loki turned to look down at the young woman approach him. Now this was a surprise. He hadn't expected to meet her out here so late at night. Hell, he wasn't even sure how to feel about this encounter. Things had been awkward between them ever since their first meeting. Back then he had thought he had done something wrong, without warning Blake had suddenly ran off, leaving the poor boy confused and worried. It was only when he had found her again did he find out that he wasn't the one to blame. Blake had issues with men in her life, so she had left him because of that. It was partially because of that that Loki only paid her visits while he was in his feline form. Out of respect and his own self preservation the young man had vowed not to show his human side to the woman again. So much for that. It was rather hard to try to hide away from someone you knew in the city when you spent most of your time in your human form.
“Hey there, its been awhile.” the boy smiled in greeting. This unforeseen turn of events wasn't the best of situations but he would just have to deal with it. It couldn't end too badly right? There was no way that Blake could tell that he was really the cat that paid her a visit from time to time. So long as he played it cool she would never find out. So far it didn't seem like she had any suspicions about him. Loki wasn't the only person here that was caught off guard. Blake seemed a little surprised and out of her element too when she spoke. The boy chuckled when she said that she was unsure if he even remembered her. “Of course I remember you Blake. I can never forget a pretty face. Especially ones that buy me food.” the boy winked at her.
Her next words didn't catch the boy by surprise. After what he had learned about Blake from her cat Shadows he already knew it was coming. That didn't stop him from looking a little surprised at the apology. He needed to at the oblivious role here. He gave her a gentle smile as she apologized. “It's alright, you don't need to apologize to me.” the boy said. “I can kind of understand your feelings, even if I don't know what was going on in your life at the time. You needed time alone so that is why you did it. I can't blame you for that now can I?” silence fell on the two after that. Now it was his turn to feel guilty. Blake was obviously trying to make amends for something that she felt was her fault. Even though he accepted her apology would that make her feel better about it? He didn't want her to feel so bad about that day. A part of him wanted to scoop her up in his arms and reassure her that everything was fine, but he knew better than that. They weren't close enough for him to do such a thing, and if what Shadows told him was as serious he thought it was he would only make her feel worse.
There was nothing much that Loki could do to fix the situation between them, but luckily he didn't need to. It was Blake who broke the silence between them once more. What she said made the boy smile. “Sure, that sounds great.” It was funny how things turned out. Not only did Loki come face to face with Blake as a human again, but they so happened to stumble upon a similar setting like their first meeting place, and soon would be repeating that same fateful day. Whether this was just a coincidence or fate Loki couldn't say, but he was liking how it was turning out so far. “Only this time I'll be the one to treat you. I think its only fair since you were the one to treat me last time. Agreed?” Loki would give her a chance to answer his offer before opening the door to the shop. “Ladies first.”

Blake blinked as he accepted her apology. A smile painted across her pale face, thus turning her cheeks into a light rose colored shade. Her face felt warm and she felt her heart pace pick up a little faster. So relaxed now, as she could see that he still wanted to hang around with her and that there were no hard feelings over what had happened. Now, they could start over. He knew a little about her already. But now, things have changed. She worked in a hospital and she was working on herself to make herself happier. Plus, she joined a gym. Not that that was interesting and not that she really needed to do the gym thing. Mostly, it was for more muscle tone. She didn't want to just be skinny. She wanted to have some strength and muscle behind her, "I'm glad we can try this, again.."
He was understanding that she had issues. Which only made him that more amazing in her book. Granted, her best friend knew of these issues, however, he didn't seem that understanding. At least not all the time. It felt as though nothing as changed, and she was oblivious to the fact that he was the little cat that came into her window for a visit from time to time. What would happen if she knew this? Who knew? Maybe Loki would never tell her his little secret. Maybe she wouldn't tell him some of his - at least the ones that her cat had not shared with him already. Goodness, he knew more about her than she realized. Without her knowing that he knew it! Her mind was torn back to him, the moment he said he would spend his evening with her, not only that, but he would pay. Her face turned warmer, which to him would appear to be more red. She was blushing, but kept the smile across her face. She would nod her head to him. Smiling as he opened the door for her.
She walked by the male and bit her lip. He was just as sweet as she remembered from the first time they met. Her fingers curled her hair behind her ears and she found herself looking back at him. He was such a flirt - and she remembered thinking about it. She liked it then, and still liked it now. It wouldn't hurt to feed into the flirting, harmlessly. As they walked to the line, she stepped backwards and looked at the male, chuckling a bit before she parted her rose-pink lips, "Still think I have a pretty face?" It was her turn to put him on the spot, just a little. She stood beside him in the line and looked at the menu. Biting her bottom lip as she continued to try to decide on what she might like. She still had the craving for something cold and sweet as well as that brownie. The silence between them was almost getting to be too much for her, she looked up at him and smiled faintly, "What have you been up to since we last saw one another?"
It wasn't like she gave him her number. She left in such a hurry that she only left it at the fact that she had to go and nothing else. If tonight went more smoothly, she could possibly give him her phone number so they could hang out a little more in the future rather than running into one another by chance. Although, it was a lucky shot that they ran into one another again. Not to mention, they were headed into the same establishment. Blake didn't know if this was a sign or that they were just caught up in a strange coincidence. Whatever it was, she was in a better mood tonight, and she would not want to miss a moment with hanging out with a potential friend. She licked her lips, as she waited on his reply. Sneaking the occasional glance at him. Her cheeks flushed red a bit more, as she was now fully aware that - he was handsome. It only made her smile a little more as she stuffed her hands into the pocket of her jacket.

Ah, there was the Blake he knew and loved. The girl's blushing face brought a smile to Loki's face. He liked seeing this side of her. Blake was a very pretty girl to look at, but when she blushed she became even cuter. Most girls were cute when they blushed, it was part of the reason he liked making them do so. Blake wasn't much different, he liked that side of her and would do his damnedest to bring that adorable side of her out. This human was going to be in for a long night. At least she liked it. It was pretty clear to see that she did and who could blame her? What girl didn't like an attractive guy paying them compliments? Hopefully that was all that there was to it. Too much playing around easily lead to a broken heart. As much as Loki liked playing around with this female he didn't want to take it too far. Blake couldn't take another heart break, and neither could he for that matter.
At least he wasn't going to fall in love with her, if there was one thing he could be certain of it was that. He wasn't just playing around with her, he honestly did want to form some kind of bond with this woman but a romantic one was out of the question. Though this unexpected slightly contradicted his intentions. With the male's flirtatious actions, paying for food, and taking the time to sit and chat with her this meeting looked more like a date than two friends hanging out. Any observer would see it that way at least. Was he taking this too far? Maybe. He was deviating from his original goals with Blake but somehow he didn't seem to mind. It was just one casual meeting and they were just trying to make the best of it. Nothing more and nothing less. So long as he saw it that way, and Blake saw it that way then there was nothing more to take from it than that right?
Keeping that in mind Loki continued to act the perfect gentleman, opening the door for his female companion before slipping into the store with her. He really was pleased to see her like this, the girl was in a much better mood than he had seen her in since their first encounter. The smile on her lips and blush on her cheeks and playful tone made the shifter extremely happy. He would have purred at the sight if he didn't have good self control. As happy as he was to see her he still had to keep his guard up. He couldn't forget that he was still in the presence of a human, even if she was a witch, he didn't want to reveal his true identity to her. Not like that. Loki chuckled at Blake's comment. It looked like he wasn't the only flirtatious person here tonight. “Of course I do my dear. You are still my cake goddess, your beauty is never changing in my eyes.” the boy teased, playfully bowing to the woman before standing next to her in line. Oh he was going to have some fun tonight.
Loki took his attention away from Blake for a moment to eye the menu. There were a lot of options to choose from in this place, so much so that he wasn't sure what to pick. At least he didn't have to rush and pick anything right away. The shop was surprisingly busy despite the hour. It looked like Loki and Blake weren't the only ones with a late night sweet tooth. “Man there are more choices here than I thought.” Loki pondered out loud, “Do you know what you want already?” just as he asked Blake that question she asked a question of her own. The boy pondered for a moment how he should answer that. A lot of things had happened in the shifter's life since he had last officially met Blake. None of these changes were an easy thing to explain to her either. Blake knew just as much as his life, maybe even less than he knew hers. How could he answer that?
“Quite a lot has change for me since I came here.” the boy began. “I'm currently living with a friend of mine, and have been keeping myself busy learning my way around town and working.” Most of what he said was true, vague but true. Of course he didn't mention all the trouble he had gotten into before and even during their time a part. Most of those problems were in the past, all save for Gil of course. But the hellhound was far from his thoughts now, and he preferred to keep it that way. “Kind of boring I know, but over all things haven't been too bad. What about you?”

She smiled at the male, in his response to her flirting back. It was harmless fun, right? She wasn't looking for anything like a romantic relationship. She needed more focus on herself. Romance will present itself when it needs to. So for now, despite how their outing might look, she would enjoy their 'date'. The blushing, she knew wouldn't stop. He was a flirt and she was aware of this about him. Loki had flirted with her from the moment they first sat down with one another. It didn't bother her, in the least. If anything, it only made her feel a little better about herself. She had little confidence now a days. The boost in the ego felt very nice. Even if it was mere playful fun. She gently curled her multicolored locks over her shoulder and bit her lip as she eyed the menu. Remembering that he had asked if he knew what she would like. She didn't! Again! Pastry or frozen yogurt?!
"Not sure just yet. I can't decide if I really want frozen yogurt or a brownie." She chuckled and looked up at him. In a moment, she licked her lips and found herself grinning and nodded, "I would like frozen yogurt. However, would you like to split a brownie?"
She continued to smile at him before she began to tap her foot against the tile floor. Gently humming to herself, only to stop as he began to talk to her. She was glad to hear that he was living with someone and that he was working, "That's good to hear. I am glad you seem to be doing well." He then turned the question around on her and she gave it a thought. What could she tell him that wouldn't be grossing any of her comfort zones? Well, he could tell her that she was working now. But what else? She hadn't really been doing much. This was one of those moments where she was finding out just how boring she really was. This caused her to finally speak, "Oh - I am working at the hospital! I got a nursing position!" She grinned. The one strange thing about her job was she definitely looked like she was the youngest on the nursing staff. Well, in a way she was. Her time with Shade froze her body in her current age. Once she got her soul back, time had yet to catch up. Maybe it was a process that took time? She could still feel some of his power within her or that fine line that she had walked on before. The one where she had snapped and resorted to cannibalism when she lost herself to her dark side. She wondered if that side of her still existed.
She shook the strange feeling off and smiled up at Loki. They were just at the counter. Her eyes wandering to what the people ahead of them were buying. One was a little girl with her mother. Hopping up and down and spouting off what she wanted. Then her lips parted and she began to speak once more, color=teal]"I live on my own. Sometimes I like my privacy. I also miss my friends... once we sit down, I will tell you what is on my mind about that subject." She then looked up at him. Her eyes softly blinking. She kept a smile on her face. There was no forcing it as she was still feeling pretty good. Her night would be good, as she predicted and only found it getting better, due to bumping into Loki and spending the evening with him until it was time to part ways.

Loki wasn't the only one that didn't know what he wanted to get. When he asked his little lady friend what she wanted Blake admitted that she wasn't too sure what she would like herself. At least unlike him she was simply stuck on two choices. Frozen Yogurt or a brownie. Those were interesting choices. Too bad Loki couldn't help her make a decision. Neither of the treats she mentioned were things that Loki had tried before. Well, he did try yogurt in the past, but not the one that she mentioned. What was frozen yogurt anyway? Was it the yogurt form of a popsicle? That would be interesting to try out. While the male contemplated giving at least the frozen yogurt a try too Blake suggested that she would get a yogurt after all and share a brownie with him. “That sounds like a good idea.” the boy agreed, “Why don't we both get a frozen yogurt then? I've never had one before so it could be a good experience.”
Now that the two knew what they were going to get there next move was to get to the counter to order their food. That was going to take awhile from the look of it. The store was pretty busy, there was a lot of people in the store and most of them happened to be standing in line just like they were. It was going to take some time before they could place their order. So while they waited in line the two started to make small talk. Blake was the first to initiate, asking Loki how were things in his life since they last (officially) saw each other. Boy wasn't that a loaded question. There were plenty of things in Loki's life that had changed since she had last saw him, but he couldn't tell her that. Even if she was more than normal he couldn't just say what was happening with him. How could he tell her that he was taken in under the care of a fallen angel, worked for him, as well as doing odd shady jobs around town, and happened to have an insane, very pissed off hellhound chasing after his fluffy tail? Hell he didn't even tell her that he was a lone shapeshifter who was living on the streets at the time he had met her. There was no way that he could tell her the truth, not the full extent of the truth anyway. So instead he chose to be vague. There was no harm in leaving out the finer details of his life and leave the gaps to be filled in with her own imagination.
Blake didn't seem to notice or question his answer, which was good in his book. Soon enough Loki turned the question back on her. He knew that whatever answer that Blake gave him would be just as informative as his was. From his time spent at Blake's place he knew that she had problems in her life that she was trying to deal with. There was no way that someone like her would be willing to open up to those things with someone that she was only just starting to get to know. All the same he was a little curious as to what was going on in her life. There was only so much that he could see when he was a cat paying a casual visit from time to time. Loki watched Blake ponder over the question before giving an answer. “You are a nurse huh? That's pretty neat.” the boy smiled down at her. So Blake was the human equivalent of a healer from his world. That was interesting. “I should have known you were a nurse. You struck me as the type of person that loves to care for others, a job like that totally suits you.”
The line was finally beginning to get smaller during the time that they were talking. There was only one more pair in line ahead of them now. Before the last pair were finally done Blake spoke up once again. Loki listened intently to what the girl had to say. So it looked like her new job wasn't the only thing that Blake wanted to talk about. Maybe his initial assumption about her wanting to keep her privacy was wrong? Maybe she was fine with talking about her problems with him, but why? Did she feel that she could trust him? Or was she just simply looking for someone to talk to and didn't care who it was? He would find that out soon enough. Loki smiled at the girl once more. “Sounds like fun, I am always willing to lend an ear for a friend.” the boy replied. Loki looked around the shop to find a place that they could sit, thankfully there were a few seats available. “Once we get our orders we can try to grab a seat over there and talk.” He pointed out a small table near the window. Once the last pair left Loki let Blake order her stuff before ordering a strawberry frozen yogurt for himself and followed Blake to their seats. Once the two settled down he turned his attention back at his companion. “So my little goddess, what is on your mind?”

She smiled at him after they received their treats. Now headed to the empty table by the window, to claim their seats and to talk. Catch up and to bond. She knew Loki could be a good friend and she was more than happy about this sudden meeting tonight. Plus, it would give them a reason to turn this acquaintanceship into a friendship - this she was really open to. She took a bite out of her frozen yogurt and thought a moment, "Yeah. I love my job. It's very rewarding - I enjoy helping people and doing so in a way I love to the most. Medicine." She was very big on medicine. In fact, she was passionate about it. Plus, it helped turn her into a white witch even more. What the hospital didn't realize, was with some - not all, but some, she would use a little bit of her magic. She tried to keep it minimal and she wouldn't do anything reckless. Who knew who would come into the clinic?
Blake smiled a bit, as she remembered their previous conversation. Blake broke off a piece of their brownie and blinked at the male as she bit into the small piece of her pastry, "I enjoy the privacy. but I get super scared. Like, say we were very close. There are times I would freak out and I would tend to push away and it would seem like I dropped off the face of the earth, but I would be in town, still..." she admitted. Her eyes lowered, but the faint smile remained across her pale face. She let out a soft sigh and found herself looking back up at him, "I would just.. be. Just going about my day like a robot. I wouldn't really do anything. I would lock myself up in my house and I would only be."
She ate another bite of her treat and found herself looking back at Loki. Curious about him, wondering if he felt that way sometimes. He might? But how many people do you meet who just run away from everything? She cleared her throat and swallowed heavily, "I didn't mean to just unload on you, like that... I am sorry..." She kept the smile on her face, but kept it soft. This smiling thing was starting to hurt her cheeks. Plus, she wasn't always this peppy. She was more laid back than anything and it was easier to just keep to herself on the rest. However, she laid down a heavier question to him than the last, "Do you ever feel that way? Like you just want to run? And hope that the answer just presents itself to you?" She remembered that she did that countless times to Guillotine. It was nothing personal to him. It was more along the lines of her just use to being alone. So, it was almost like she would set herself up to be alone. She was lucky that he didn't just say fuck it and just leave their friendship in the past. There were nights that, back then, they used to hang out at her house and stay up late. They would just talk on those nights. But it was not a regular thing. She refused to let it be regular as he would just get grumpy and such. Some nights didn't seem so bad, right? But he was her best friend. She wished she would stop doing this to him. But why would she refuse to always call him/ If she needed him, she knew he would be there. Maybe, she didn't always want to lean on him. Maybe it was best that she make some more friends that way she didn't have to always rely on Guil. That was where Loki was coming in. He was sweet and kind. He was the opposite of a Guil. Plus, he was human, right?
Except... those eyes. They almost seemed familiar, however, she found herself staring at them for a long period. They were so mesmerizing that she couldn't help but look. They were different. If anything, they were lovely. Her head gently tipped to the side, and then the warm feeling came back to her cheeks. She knew that she was blushing at this point. But she didn't mind if he saw. His eyes were gorgeous. In fact, that was one thing she noticed on people first. It was their eyes...

After taking their orders Loki and Blake made their way over to their seats. Luckily no one had tried to take the window seats while they were at the counter. Loki had picked a good spot, it was one of the few areas that didn't have a lot of people around it, giving the two their own private corner of the shop for themselves, and it did have a nice view of outside to boot. It was the perfect place to eat and talk. Blake would probably end up being the one to do most of the talking of course. It was pretty obvious that Blake had a lot more going on in her mind that Loki did, and she wanted to get it all out as soon as she could. He was fine with that, Loki wasn't much of the silent type but he could play the role of the listener when he needed to. If Blake needed an ear he was more than willing to give it. Besides he was curious about her and the life she led outside of the one he saw as a cat. It was nice being able to talk to her like this. Though he had been a little wary of this meet up at first he was glad that he was able to do this.
He got to talk to Blake on equal terms, and he got a treat out of it too. Loki was a little surprised at what his little snack came out looking like once he got it. He had taken the chance to look it over before they had sat down. This frozen yogurt didn't look like how he expected it. It looked more like soft served ice cream, it was interesting. It tasted great too. A soft purr rose out of the young male after he tried his spoonful. He couldn't help himself, it tasted so damn good that he didn't realize what he was doing until it was too late. It took a moment for him to stop, man he hoped she didn't hear it. At least it wasn't nearly as loud as it was when someone pet him. There was no way that Blake would have missed it if it was that intense.
Thankfully Blake had been too busy talking at the time to really notice. Lucky him. Loki turned his attention back to Blake, listening intently to what the young woman had to say. She was trying to explain to him her problems, or rather how she tried to deal with her problems. Now I know why she ran from me the first time the boy thought. Blake's people issues was nothing new to the male, he had learned about it already from Shadows. The way he saw it he was getting too close with her at the time, and that made her panic and run from him. He couldn't blame her for that. Loki could come off too forward at times with people. When he wanted to make friends he wasn't shy in the least with them.
But not everyone was as comfortable as he was, shy people needed a bit more gentle prodding in order to get them out of their shell. Normally Loki was good enough at sensing at how comfortable a person was when dealing with them, he was able to adjust his own actions accordingly so he wouldn't create an unnecessary tension. But he had missed it with Blake. She was the one to approach him first so he didn't assume that she was shy. When he was flirting around with her she did blush a lot, but she didn't seem embarrassed or nervous about it. She seemed to like it, so he didn't hold back. No wonder he had been so confused when she suddenly panicked. Had he known what he knew back then would he have still acted the same? He didn't know.
“Don't apologize Blake. It's good to get those kinds of feelings off your chest.” Loki told her. He knew all too well what it was like to keep ones problems to themselves. He had been keeping a lot of pain locked away in his heart and out of sight from those around him. It had been easy to avoid having to face his problems when he had been living in the streets. He didn't have anyone he cared for anymore, or any friends that he could turn to back then. He didn't have to hide behind a smile all of the time when he was alone. But all of that had changed now. As grateful as he was to have people that he could care about a part of his still wondered if he was making a huge mistake. So he hid those thoughts behind a smile, hoping that no one would notice. It was wrong, but he was fine with that. He deserved to suffer a little bit. But Blake didn't.
Blake's question really put the boy on the spot. If only she had known what a loaded question she had just given him. Out of habit he would have lied about it and tried to change the subject, but given the current circumstances it was hard to just brush it off. He didn't want Blake to know the truth, not even a sliver of it, he didn't even want Azazel to know. But would Blake be as open with him if he said something? What Blake needed was someone that could understand her feelings to help her overcome them. Loki wanted to help her there, but that required him to open up in a way that he wasn't entirely comfortable with. “I...am not sure. Not anymore anyway.” the boy finally answered. “There was a period of time in my life that I did nothing but run. But no matter how much running I did I couldn't escape. In the end I just had to learn to accept it.” There was a flicker of sadness in the male's gaze as he looked over at Blake. “You and I have a bit in common. I would isolate myself a lot, granted it might have been easier for me to do back then than for you now. I didn't have anyone else in my life to worry about me or try to snap me out of it. I've been alone for a long time. Honestly besides my friend you are the only other person I've bothered talking to.”

She made a slight face at her companion, tipping her head to the side and biting her bottom lip. It would seem that he too understood. Maybe more than she actually knew. She caught the sadness in his eyes in the moments that he spoke to her. He was unloading, even just a little her her. And for this, she was grateful. He was right. They had a bit in common, as he said. It was strange to her that they did. But in a good way. He didn't have many friends. It sounded like. Which only made her a little more sad about his situation. However, she bit her bottom lip and nodded to him. She was grateful they found one another, so that now they could have more people in their lives to talk to. At least, someone who would understand. She had a few friends. And as stated before - there was also Guillotine. But she knew that he didn't always like to hear about her problems. Due to her not talking to many people, she kept it all bottled up and talked to her cat. Little did she realize that, that action earned Loki a gateway into Blake's life. Little did she realize he was the cat that visited her from time to time.
She gently extended her arm. Her hand resting on one of his own. Her eyes remained on him. Her smile finally vanishing from her pale face. Her eyes began to shine her understanding and her mimicking sadness. She knew. She knew all too well what it was like to be in Loki's shoes. It was not a pleasant place to be. Wanting to run away from everyone and everything. That was what she was all too familiar with. But she knew that Loki wanted to help. Maybe, she could return the favor and help him as well?
"I'm sorry you felt that way..." She said softly and found herself sighing softly, "I appreciate for finding you... And I appreciate your companionship. I hope that I can help you with the sadness I see in your heart..." The young witch gave his hand a light squeeze. Finding herself slowly retracting her hand. Hoping that her little gesture would be good enough for him. Just enough to let him know she did care for his feelings and that could talk to her about anything - if he felt the need to vent or even just talk. She only wanted to be his friend. She could see a little bit of herself in his eyes. At least knowing a similarity to the closing oneself off to the world around them. Not that it was the worst thing. Blake could have done several things. She had thought about suicide from time to time. That maybe things would be easier if she just wasn't here. But then she remembered that it was the cowards way out.
"I did not mean to make you feel down... Or ask such a heavy question..." she finally said after a moment of silence. Watching him and licking her lips as she took another bite of her treat. Softly smiling to the taste of her yummy treat. she gently raised her spoon and nodded softly, "Thank you again for this, by the way. I am so happy that I ran into you, tonight. I had a good shift at work. I kind of wanted to share my good mood with someone else." A chuckle escaped her throat before she found herself taking another bite. Only to open her lips after swallowing, "Sad stuff aside - what are your interests? What are some things you like to do? Tell me a little about you.." A smile graced her face that grew wider. Loki was so mysterious and she couldn't help but want to know a little more. He didn't have to tell her everything. She would find out about him over time. Whatever he was comfortable with.

He didn't want to do this. He really did not want to talk about his past. He didn't even want to think about it. Loki's past had a bad way of creeping up on him when he least expected it to all on its own, to face it now, especially with someone that he didn't know that well was a lot to deal with. If this were any other person or situation he would have lied to her. But things weren't that simple. Loki was trying to help someone else, someone that he knew was going through some trouble in their life, in order to help them met having to share a piece of himself in order to do it. Was it worth it though? That he didn't know. As much as he cared right now for the girl sitting across from him he didn't know where this would lead him. For all he knew this was the last time he would see Blake like this, maybe one day she would grow tired of his existence and reject him, she might even out of spite if she learned too much turn his own weakness against him. There were plenty of risks with the path that he was about to take.
But he took them anyway. Loki wasn't even fully sure why he did what he did. Just opening up even just a little bit made him feel vulnerable. The moment that he opened his mouth he already was starting to regret it. He might have been doing this so he could help Blake in the long run but he wasn't doing himself any favors. He couldn't even look her in the eyes as he spoke out of fear that his eyes would give away more than he wanted them to. For a moment Loki was tempted to leave, just like Blake had done to him the first time. It might have been years since Amalia died but even now just thinking about her was too much to take. He might have done just that if Blake didn't reach out to him. He hadn't expected the contact. The act was so sudden he didn't have the chance to react to it. Blake's gentle touch was just enough to pull him from his tiny pit of despair.
For the first time in a long time Loki blushed. God this was embarrassing, he had started off trying to help make Blake feel better, but found himself being comforted by her instead. So much for playing the caring role. Loki pulled his gaze back to the woman, putting back on the mask that was his smile at her comforting words. “You don't have to worry about me, my past doesn't bother me anymore. I've learned that the present is what is important so I don't let things like that bother me anymore.”
Hypocrite All Loki ever did was think about the past. No matter how much he tried he couldn't escape his past. He had long since stopped trying. The only thing that he could do was try to keep those sad thoughts away when he was dealing with people. He didn't want his problems to affect anyone but himself. This was his punishment. Loki was never meant to feel true happiness. His life might have started getting better now that he was living with Azazel but he could never forget his past, and he would never get rid of the burden of carrying it with him where ever he went. But Blake didn't deserve it. Loki might not know what had happened with the woman but he did know that. She didn't deserve to suffer. He could stand being a liar if that meant his words could somehow help her out in the end. He would never be happy but that didn't mean his friends couldn't be happy.
Loki was relieved when the topic finally changed, it made slipping back to his cheerful mask that much easier. The boy chuckled as Blake told him how happy she was that they had bumped into each other tonight. “You aren't the only one grateful for tonight. Today turned out pretty good for me over all, now here I am enjoying a sweet treat, with an even sweeter lady. What more could a guy ask for?” he winked at the girl before she asked him what his interests were. What an interesting question. Loki pondered her question over in his head for a moment. It wasn't easy thinking about what he liked to do that he could say to the human girl. The first few things that came to mind were not really human interests. Chasing mice, playing, and getting a good scratching session were not the kinds of things one should tell a human, witch or not, but there was somethings he could say.
“If there is one thing I can say for sure that I like it'd be food.” the boy replied. “The sweet kinds of stuff, like this to be precise.” Loki really did have a strange obession with human food. The way they were prepared, the presentation, and of course the way they tasted was much better than the stuff he was used to back in his own world. He still loved hunting and eating mice from time to time, but a freshly caught mouse couldn't compete with a slice of cake. “Since I moved in with my friend I've started trying out cooking. It's a fun hobby of mine, and was kind of necessary to pick up since I tend to get back home before he does. It wasn't nearly as easy as I thought it was but I've improved a lot.” As the boy spoke he suddenly realized that he had forgotten to do something. Crap, he had forgotten about Azazel. Since he had ran into Blake he was definitely going to be a little late getting home. He needed to give the angel a heads up.
“Speaking of roommates that reminds me...give me a second.” Loki quickly pulled out his cellphone and sent the angel a quick text message about his plans, and promising to bring something home on his way back. Once he was done he put the cell away and turned his attention back to Blake. “Sorry about that, I just needed to tell my friend that I was going to be a little late.” the boy explained. The last thing he wanted to do was make Azazel worry about him. He had already given the poor man quite a scare with that incident with Guillotine, and he didn't want to do it again. At least tonight it wasn't that rabid hellhound that was holding him up. “Now back to interests...I don't really have a lot of interests or hobbies. I like cooking and walking around exploring. Other than that I am pretty boring. The most exciting thing I have done so far was go out clubbing and drinking for the first time, but I can't remember anything past the hangover....What about you?”

It had been a long, hard, day for the young hellhound. He had been stuck playing errand boy for the past few hours. Guillotine was complaining to his superiors about not getting enough fresh air and exercise. So they gave him something to do. Man, that was a big mistake. This wasn’t the kind of fetch he wanted to play. Oh well, at least he was outside and getting some actual fresh air. Being recently put back on his medication the beast was able to venture out of the prison he called home. Only this time there was a catch. Gil was allowed to go out but only for a limited amount of time. Not only that but he had to stay on the main streets. The beast wasn't allowed to venture into any alleys. Gil would do it anyway if it wasn’t for the tracking device that was planted into his neck. Of course the hound was none too pleased by this. Just the fact that he couldn't transform if he got into any trouble did weigh heavy on his mind. If Gil ran into Azazel again he would either have to play dead or run for his life. Neither of those options seemed to sit well with the beast. He was stuck in this pathetic human form until his medication wore off. There wasn’t much he could do about it. For now he would have to play it safe. Though, this plan wouldn’t last very long. Trouble always seemed to have a way of finding him.
By the end of the day the hound was sent out to retrieve one last thing, his own dinner. Then he was instructed to go home for the night. Guillotine was still feeling a little pissy by the end of the day. However, a quick smoke break did help with his mood. Guillotine wasn’t nearly as angry now that he had nicotine in his system. With a cigarette protruding from between his lips the tall man trotted along down the sidewalk. His hands sat in his coat pocket, folding his lighter. Gil appeared to be limping heavily as he walked. Earlier his leg had been giving him trouble. Though, being the hound that he was, Gil would push through it. He was on the hunt for some food after all, dog food.
Guillotine was headed toward a pet store when he came upon a dessert shop. The irritated male would have completely walked past it if it hadn’t been for the smell. The sweet scent of tasty treats that was radiating from under the entrance to the shop had cause Gil to stop in mid step. The smell immediately caught his attention. Pulling the cancer stick from between his lips Guillotine tapped some ashes off the end of it before looking into the store.
The inside was lit up. Guillotine was able to see what all they had to offer. The humans really had it good when it came to food. Their desserts always smelled so good. Too bad Gil’s body couldn’t handle sweets. Just one bite of those tasty morsels would turn his stomach inside out. Gil shuttered at the thought. Yeah, it was better just to smell the damn things instead of try to eat them. Looks like he would just have to stick to boring old dog food. Putting the cigarette back into his mouth Gil was about to move on when something, or rather someone, caught his eye. Though the glass window of the store Gil thought he had seen someone familiar. Snapping his head back around he look inside. Gil thought he could make out Blake and Loki. What would the two of them be doing in a shop like this together? He needed to get a better look.
Guillotine didn’t hesitate when he tossed his cigarette aside and pressed his face up against the window like some kind of child. Once he realized his suspicions were indeed correct a hard frown took over his features. He gave Loki a nasty scow from the other side of the glass. What on earth was that feline doing with his friend? Did Loki plain on giving Blake to Azazel? Was this some kind of trick!? Guillotine's heart began to race. There was no way in hell Gil would allow that to happen. Upon further inspection he noticed something else. The two beings seemed to be having a decent conversation. Did Blake really like this guy? Regardless of what was going on Gil was still pissed off. He glared over at Loki. Then with his face still pressed up against the glass he poked at it before mouthing the words. “You!” His deep voice was muffled through the glass. Anyone could read his lips and know what he said next. “Stupid boy!” Suddenly Guillotine began to scratch at the glass like some kind of idiot. He was desperate to get inside when there was a door standing about three feet from him.
The male did not even know there was a door there until a human opened it. The entrance made a little chiming sound as he door was opened. The hound and the human shared a very awkward glance before the human finally moved on. Looking back towards the window Guillotine had a sickening grin on his face. Now he had Loki right where he wanted him! The feline and Blake both had some explaining to do. Gil strolled on over to the door before walking inside. Instead of completely jumping Loki right then in there he strolled on over to them and stood beside Blake. Judging by the look on his face he did not look very pleased. His smile had faded now. A hard frown had replaced it. The beast looked over at Loki for a moment before glancing down at Blake. “What are you doing talking to this sack of shit, Blake? He’s dangerous...”The male then gave Loki a few death glares. Guillotine knew he couldn’t lay a single paw on the male’s body or else he would certainly feel the wrath of his caretaker. So instead Gil would resort to verbal abuse.

Blake listened to the man speak. Now tilting her head to the side and faintly smiling. She he too seemed to be happy that he was out with her, here. It only warmed her heart a little more in this situation. She was enjoying his company, as he seemed to be quite interesting. Course, she watched for a moment when he pulled out his phone to tell his roommate that he was going to be a little longer than planned. Blake merely smiled when he apologized and shook her head, "No no! Don't worry about it... if anything, I hope I don't keep you too long...[/ b]" A little harmless flirting to lighten the mood a little more.
When he said he was interested in cooking and that he had just started, she gave a little giggle and a nod. She enjoyed it as well! This was certainly interesting. They were slowly but surely having a little more in common with one another than she expected.
"I love it too! I like when I get an old recipe and I get to spice it up a bit!" Her smile remained brilliant as they talked. Her head tipping to the side and her eyes continued to shine. She was liking her new friend more and more as they spoke. He was pretty laid back and he was completely friendly, it seemed. Her lips soon met the spoon for her treat, longing for the taste. She was also a bit more relieved as the conversation had changed directions. The topic change was a safe thing, as the mood for the rest of their time together did not need to be a sad one. They could hopefully forget for a little that they had, had this conversation and move on to brighter things. Soon, she was asked the same question. This was going to be a loaded answer. What didn't she like to do?! Blake thought about it a moment and was going to talk about the things that she enjoyed doing the most. Unfortunately, that would include some of her potions. However, she would simply say that they were home remedies that were in her family for a long time. Then again, she wasn't completely lying to him. She was only leaving out the rest of the truth.
"I enjoy singing... I like playing the piano.. I like drawing and painting... and a few other things.. I also make my own oils and such as home remedies for things." That was sorta smooth? She smiled back at him and found her eyes falling on the pastry on the table in between them. The brownie was still there. Had he touched it? Her curiosity peaked a bit as she found herself asking him, "Have you had any of this?" she chuckled and continued having her lovely time with Loki. Her head tipped to the side as she continued to talk about herself to him. It seemed he was interested in knowing her, or at least hiding something. That was fine. They would open up more to one another in time. This was a new friendship and they did not need to rush it and possibly scare people away.
On that note, Blake caught the sounds of scratching against the window. Once her eyes averted from her companion, her heart almost dropped. Her face went more pale. It was her best friend. But he wasn't so much as glaring at her as he was glaring at Loki. Her heart began to pound as she found herself looking at the table top, almost in shame. Once the hound was inside, there was nothing else she could do, other than to worry about the people in here. She knew Guillotine's temper and she didn't want anyone innocent getting caught in the middle of the blooming squabble. Her eyes only grew harder when he sounded off at his demand to her. Since when was he just this possessive over her? Sure, protective, but possessive?! She looked over her shoulder at him and found herself standing up with her treat in her hand, "I was enjoying a treat with a friend - and who the fuck are you to tell me who I can and can't hangout with." That was the first time she had sounded off at Guillotine in a long, long time. It almost took her back to how she was the night she met - before he got his paws on her.
Her frame then carried her to the door. Only to look back at Loki, signalling him to come outside with a little head nod. Maybe he would pick up on the fact that she wanted to talk - not in such a public place. When it seemed Guillotine was not getting the hint, Blake grabbed his arm and yanked him outside, guiding them away from eyes and hopefully ears that didn't need to hear this conversation. The rose scented witch soon stopped and whirled around in the alleyway. Looking at both of the males for a moment, then fixed her gaze on Guillotine, "My friend and I were sharing a treat together and enjoying a nice talk." Her eyes remained hard as she looked at the hound. Shaking her head a moment before she made an open handed gesture to Loki, "He is not dangerous! He would have hurt me the first day we met if he was dangerous..."

Blake had no idea how grateful he was for the change of topic. Things had gotten a little too personal for Loki's liking earlier. That was the price he had to pay for wanting to get closer to the woman. It wasn't one that he expected though, so he wasn't really prepared for it. When it came, he found himself feeling more vulnerable than he had in years, and it didn't make him comfortable. But it was over, now he could dawn his usual mask and have a bit of fun again. Blake's question wasn't as loaded as her previous one, so he had an easier time giving her an answer. Of course he couldn't give her all of her interest, since some of those happened to be very distinct feline preferences but he at least had some human interests that he could talk about. He didn't think that any of the hobbies he told her about would be too interesting to the girl but he was proven to be wrong.
Well, well, well, it looked like Loki wasn't the only one who enjoyed cooking. Blake seemed to be interested in it too. “Really? Heh, we really have a lot in common.” the boy chuckled. “Maybe we should try each other's cooking sometime. You'll just love my strawberry shortcake.” Strawberry shortcakes were the first dessert that Loki had ever tried to make, and thus had the most practice with. It was something that Blake would definitely love. Though maybe she would like something pumpkin related better? Loki recalled the piece of cake she had bought when they first met. She seemed to love the thing, and it did have a very interesting flavor. He would definitely look up some recipes and try baking with pumpkin sometime in the future.
Loki had to laugh when he realized what he was. Here he was making plans to feed her when he didn't even know if he should be seeing her anymore as a human. So much for his word to Shadows. Loki had told the darker feline when he had first shown his feline side that he was going to stay away from Blake as a human, both since she seemed weary of him in his human form, and to help ensure his own safety. But all that seemed to change now, at least Shadows didn't seem to mind. The little cat seemed more interested in trying to hook him up with her master than anything else. Loki studied Blake while he finished off his frozen treat as she started talking about her own interests.
Blake was a very attractive woman. She had a nice slender frame, she was fairly short too, even shorter than him, which help feed into his pride a little. Those beautiful eyes, interesting hair colour, and even her delicate movements made her rather interesting. He had to admit, she wouldn't be a bad catch for anyone. But she wasn't for him. Unfortunately Shadows would be disappointed with him. Loki wouldn't pursue Blake no matter how interesting she seemed to be. It wasn't anything personal, he couldn't bring himself to date anyone after what he had been through. That didn't mean that he couldn't be friends with her. Maybe he was being too cautious before about being around Blake in his human form? She wasn't as afraid of his presence as he had originally thought. He still would have to keep his feline form a secret but that was easy enough for him to do.
“A musician and an artist? You are just full of talent aren't you?” the shifter cooed. Truth be told Loki already knew this, he had been inside her apartment and saw he work, he wouldn't have known where she had lived in the first place if he didn't hear her sing. Blake didn't know that though, so he would hide that fact from her in the mean time. “I'd love to see your paintings sometime, and hear you sing. You have such a pretty voice so I bet you are a great singer.” Blake suddenly brought the boy's attention back to food when she pointed out the brownie. Oh that was right, he had almost forgotten about the brownie thanks to the frozen yogurt and their conversation. “No I haven't. Here let me try it now.” the boy said before picking up the brownie and taking a bite out of it. Another purr rose out of the shifter when he consumed the treat. This brownie thing was delicious! He just loved the chocolatey taste and the soft gooey texture. “Man this has got to be one of the best desserts I have ever had.” Loki said with a grin. Now he knew what he was going to bring back home with him tonight.
He had finished the brownie off just before he heard a muffled voice coming from the window. Loki turned to look at what was going on when he was greeted with the most unpleasant sight in the world. The shifter's golden eyes shot daggers through the angry hellhound. Guillotine. What the hell was Guillotine doing here? This damn bastard had been a thorn in Loki's side since the day he met him. That stupid dog constantly threatened and bullied him, and now was probably following him around like some stupid lovesick puppy that couldn't catch a hint. He had to be stalking him, there was no other explanation why he was showing his big ugly mug here now. He had to get this damn mutt out of here fast. The last thing he wanted was to have the stupid dog come after him with Blake around. He didn't want to drag the human female into this mess, or at worse give Guillotine a new target to go after.
It was time to leave. Loki pried his gaze off of the hellhound and turned to Blake to say a quick goodbye and go off to meet the rabid dog when he noticed the woman's strange behavior. Loki wasn't the only one that noticed the hellhound. That wasn't much of a surprise since the dumb mutt was making so much commotion in his pathetic attempts to get at him, but the way Blake was acting at the sight of the intruder was strange. Loki had expected her to looked confused, weirded out, or at the very least worried about the stranger but she didn't. Instead she kept her gaze squarely on the table as if she were ashamed. What was going on here? Blake's behavior was distracting enough to buy Guillotine some time to finally figure out how to get in and approach them. Loki returned his glacial glare back at the hellhound as he made his way over, but what the bastard said caught him off guard.
“Wait...do you know this guy?” Loki asked Blake though he refused to turn his eyes off of Guillotine for even a second. This turn of events wasn't turning out how he expected it. How did Guillotine know Blake? Did they meet before? A dangerous thought entered the boy's head as he tried to access the situation. What if Gil had met Blake in private before? Guillotine had been hunting Loki in the past before, and evidently still was now. If he followed him around before, or somehow followed his scent back to Blake....this was bad very bad. If Loki's assumptions were right Gil could be using her to get to him. If that was the case Guillotine was a dead dog walking. Loki rose from his seat, he was about to grab Guillotine by the arm and drag him out of the shop when Blake stepped in. Loki wasn't the only one here who was pissed off and had the same idea. Loki silently followed Blake out of the shop, he walked alongside her as she dragged Guillotine into the nearest alley, and made sure to stand in between them once she turned to address Guillotine.
Loki didn't know what was going on here but he did know one thing. He was not going to let Blake get into harm's way. Guillotine was a dangerous creature. He had give Loki trouble in the past, even now Loki didn't have much to help him fight the damn monster on equal ground. But he couldn't give him the chance to attack Blake. He wouldn't let her turn into another Amalia. During Blake's and Guillotine's exchange Loki did not take his eyes away from the hellhound. All the anger from their last encounter had begun to surface. The look in the boy's eyes were deadly, they held almost the same intensity as Azazel's did. Loki was pissed, and this time he was ready to fight if things came to that. The boy laughed when Blake talked about him being dangerous. “She's right. I am not dangerous. You should know that by now Gil. If anyone is the danger here it's you.”
Loki walked up to the larger male, moving dangerously close in the hellhound's personal space as he smiled up at the beast. “Tell me Gil what was your brilliant plan this time? You couldn't put your filthy hands on me so you thought you could worm your way into the life of the next best thing? Were you going to hurt her? Kill her in my place?” Without warning Loki grabbed the collar of Gil's shirt and pulled his face down till they were only inches apart. “If you want to come after anyone it should be me and me alone bastard. So please, tell me that wasn't your fucking plan. I would hate to have to castrate you this time around.”
((Dear god what have I done??? O____O))
