Loki mentally cursed his luck as he ran down the empty alleyway as fast as his slender legs could carry him. Today had not been a good day in general. He started his day being chased by some stupid stray dog that wanted to take a bite out of his fluffy tail, lost what little money he had in his rush to get away from the rapid beast so he didn't have any money to buy food for the day. It was a shitty start to a shitty day but he had tried to make best of it. Only to have things screw up again. With little energy and an empty stomach Loki tried to earn back some of the money he had lost that morning through the usual means, sneaking up on unsuspecting humans and swiping their wallets. But that wasn't earning him much, everyone he had picked today had nothing more than chump change, it was barely enough to get him through the day let alone the week. He was getting desperate and his desperation lead him to getting a little reckless. He had picked the wrong person to pickpocket, got caught, and now had to run for his life before his victim turned him into mince meat.
Despite his natural agility he could still here his pursuer shouting after him as he ran. God this bastard was stubborn, he really picked the wrong guy to steal from. Out of all the people to go after today it was foolish to try and steal from a rather large, fit, muscles bulging out of his shirt dude. Loki had been too cocky, he thought the man would be too stupid to catch on to his tricks, and even if he managed to do so he was sure the guy was too slow to catch him. Oh how wrong he was. Not only was the guy smarter than he initially thought but he was surprisingly fast too. If he wasn't careful the man would catch up to him and Loki would be dead. Shapeshifter or not, there was no way that Loki could take on someone twice his size. If he was caught he would easily be crushed. He had to give the bastard the slip somehow.
Loki did his best to give the big man the slip, he ducked and dived through the alleys, hoping to confuse the man enough that he would make a mistake and lose him, or at least eventually tire him out enough that he would just give up the chase. It wasn't the best of plans but it was something. And it seemed to be working. The sounds of his pursuer’s footsteps were getting smaller and smaller with each passing moment. Loki turned another corner it looked like an exit back to the streets. Maybe this was his chance? Provided that he gained enough ground it would be an easy thing to slip back into the crowded streets and hide amongst everyone else till the coast was clear. Loki turned his head to look behind him as he ran out into the street to see how far behind the man was. The man wasn't there, he had finally caught a break!...or so he had thought. That glance behind him cost him dearly. As the shifter ran out of the alley he didn't see the other man walking out in front of him. He didn't even have the time to register what was happening before he collided into the poor guy. Today really was not his lucky day.

As a sea of people walk around, busy with all of whatever pestered, bothered, or was on their mind. A fallen angel watched them from afar and rub the tattoo on his neck as a slight memory flashed before his eyes then back to himself. Azazel sat on a bench, kind of just taking in the scene that unfold around him. It wasn't that he was curious about these humans for he could care less about them. It was more the fact he hadn't been in this area for some years. A lot of things had change along with him. "Hmm..along with this new body a lot of things have change..." He said to himself as a group of people walk past him. Maybe it was luck that he return back to this place for whether he wanted to admit or not. He missed this place. He sigh a bit, taking a small puff from a cigarette he lit up not too long ago. He breathe out the smoke and stood up.
As Azazel started to walk down the sidewalk, his mind couldn't help but grab his attention as he thought of someone that he lost but couldn't remember their name but only images of them along with their voice. It was something that had out of his usual self as he continued to walk. Why was it bugging him so much? He didn't know but would find out soon enough. Soon enough he was snapped back into reality abruptly but someone suddenly running into him. He groan as he fell onto the curb. He winced some from the small pain as he stared at the individual that pushed him down. "Uhh...what's the big idea," He scolded as his eyes shot daggers at the person who ran into him.

Today was definitely not his day. Just when Loki thought he had finally caught a break he made another blunder. It had been a mistake to look behind him when he knew he was running out into the streets. It was one thing to risk taking a look behind himself if it had been in another alleyway, he wasn't likely to accidentally run into any obstacles there, but in a crowded street an accident was bound to happen. And it did. One moment Loki was on the run and the next he was crashing down to the ground and taking someone else with him. If the fall wasn't bad enough the way they landed was the icing on the cake. Loki didn't know who had it worse, the guy who had to take the full force of the fall with his back hitting the hard concrete, or if he, who despite having the comfier position on top having to be face to face with his very pissed off human cushion.
The stranger's death glare sent shivers down his spine. Shit I am in a real bind here the shifter thought. This situation couldn't possibly get any worse than this. The first human that he had spent so much time trying to run away from was still at large, it was only a matter of time before the big dude came over here. Loki couldn't afford to hang around for much longer. But he wasn't going to get too far with this new guy. The man he happened to run into did not look pleased one bit, if he tried to take the chance and run off again he could very well have two guys chasing his tail. That was assuming that he could even make it far enough to escape before mr. tall, dark, and scary tried to grab him. He needed to play this cool, smooth things over quickly, and get the hell out before things got out of control. It was the only way he was going to get out of this mess with all his body parts still attached to him.
Loki managed a weak smile (finding it hard to put up a normal grin with death glaring him in the face) before addressing the other man. “Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to hit you...I wasn't looking at where as I was going. That's what I get for not paying attention huh?” The boy chuckled as he climbed off the poor guy and got to his feet. Loki held his hand out for the stranger to offer him so help getting back on his own feet. “I hope I didn't hurt you or break anything.” The shifter would wait till the stranger either took his hand or at least got back on his feet before sneaking a quick glance back at the alleyway. There was still no signs of the guy who was pursuing him, there wasn't even the sounds of footsteps hurrying in their direction. It wasn't easy to tell if that meant he was in the safe zone still or it was harder to hear anything now that he was in the streets. Either way he needed to make his escape now while he had the chance. Loki turned his attention back to the man he ran into, giving him another more sincere apologetic smile. “Sorry again for the trouble but I got somewhere I have to go. See ya later.” With a quick wave the young male would try to take a step back and walk on ahead before the stranger could protest. Hopefully he wouldn't do anything to stop him. The last thing he needed right now was a scene.

The fallen angel grunted a bit before he took the guy's hand and rose back to his feet. Maybe he was a bit too rude to guy for pushing him down. Maybe just a little bit. His expression, yet, seem to have not changed at all. Guess he was pissed that he knocked off his time where he was in serious thought. He sighed and stared down at the guy's face, cowling more as his anger was getting best of him than he intend to. As he look at the guy's face, he happen to get a look of where he came out of. He raised an eyebrow and rose himself away his face.
"So..," Azazel began," Why were you running from the alley and t-bone me?" The fallen angel stood directly in front of him with his arms crossed, waiting for an answer. "Please be honest with me and I may just let you go on your way, now answer me," Azazel said as he stared passed the guy again and look all the way across the alley, hoping to figure it out quickly.

Things were looking bad right now but there was hope yet for the little shifter. The guy seemed to loosen up enough to take his hand. Though he still seemed rather pissed it was at least a step in the right direction. Loki helped pull the guy back onto his feet and apologized for the incident, all the while sneaking a quick glance in the direction he had came from to make sure he was still not being followed. There was still no one there but Loki didn't want to take any chances. He had wasted enough of his escape time with his blunder and now he needed to make up for it. He needed to leave and he needed to leave now. But unfortunately his confrontation with this new stranger was far from over. When the shifter tried to make a smooth get away the other man stepped in his way.
Great...so much for a hit and run. despite the growing panic in the shifter's mind he kept his expression calm and cool while the man asked him what he was in a rush for. The question was not the kind that he liked to have directed at him at a moment like this, even under normal circumstances Loki would never be able to tell the truth about what he was doing, in a case like this he was even less inclined to be truthful. But what could he do? This guy was not going to get out of the way any time soon if he dodged the question. Looks like I am going to get two guys chasing me after all... He could run for it but there was a good chance that the guy was going to grab him before he could get away. He could try to fend him off and break free but how likely would he get away? This guy looked pretty strong, fighting him would be tricky. There was also something about him that didn't smell right. He looked human but he didn't quite smell it. It was hard enough dealing with problematic humans, but dealing with a troublesome supernatural was another story, especially one that you couldn't identify.
“What's there to tell? I was in a hurry and I wasn't looking where I was going.” the boy replied. If this guy wanted the truth that was all he was getting. He was being honest with what he was saying. He was in a rush and he hadn't been looking at where he was going when he collided with him. He just failed to mention that he was in a hurry because he was running away from some really big guy that he pickpocketed, and that the reason he wasn't looking at where he was going was because he was more worried at what lay behind him to be concerned with what was out in front of him. There was no way he could tell this guy that much detail. If he did he was likely to get grabbed and get in trouble. Being vague wasn't going to help get him out of this mess either though and he knew it. As the boy spoke Loki took a few steps back, hoping to get himself a safe enough distance away from the current threat before the bigger problem came back.

The fallen angel tapped his foot as he look down at the boy, Azazel now was getting irritated with the male for he answered his question but at the point it was too vague to be accurate. He started to think as his eyes narrow themselves again at the boy's direction. Azazel spoke to himself," Alright this kid is obviously hiding something, pissing me off because I want to know." He tap his chin for a bit and grab the guy's shoulder and frown at his face before getting closer to it, only inches away from his nose pressing against the other's.
"So won't tell me why or who is chasing after you? " The fallen Angel asked in the most polite tone he could manifest from his pissed off expression." I'm only assuming this reason for you ran into from out of nowhere yet in a rush so either someone's dying or you're being chase by someone are the most logical." Azazel added as he stared down at the boy , demanding an answer from him at the moment.

Tensions were running high, and for Loki time was running short. Both men were getting irritated here, while Loki masked his feelings with a grin and light banter he was just as annoyed as the man blocking his path looked. God why couldn't he catch a break here? Loki's whole life seemed to be one big bad luck streak. He started life out under a well respected family in his village but had to endure all the high expectations and strict rules of his family, got trapped in a world he had no hope of surviving in, ended up getting the one person he could be himself with killed, and now while he was still trying to just continue on with his miserable life all of this crap happened. He was pissed off with life, with this whole world. All he wanted to do now was get away. It was such a simple request. He needed to get away from this guy somehow. Loki entertained many ideas in his head on how he could do that. Some of which included hitting the fool in front of him before running for his life. It would be the best of both worlds, he could finally get away while at the same time letting out a bit of pent up frustrations.
Sadly Loki knew better than to do that. Fighting in situations like this was always a bad idea. The feline shifter was not built for fighting. He was small for his age, and having to live on the streets for so long made him even skinnier than he had been when he first arrived. He had no physical strength to take this man on. His powers would do him little good here either. Even if the guy he was facing now was a human he had no hope of putting up a fight in his cat form. Transforming was pointless, not to mention dangerous to do in such a populated area. Loki took a step back from the other male. Running was the only choice here. He couldn't stay and try to talk his way out of this. He just needed the chance to escape. It was now or never.
“WHERE DID YOU GO YOU PUNK?!”
Loki was about to turn tail and bolt when he heard shouting coming from the alley. The shouting was far away enough for anyone with average hearing to easily miss, but with his naturally sharp senses Loki was able to pick up on it easily. Shit, the guy still hadn't given up he would be coming this way soon enough. The noise was an ill omen and an unfortunate distraction. Loki had been to preoccupied with his appending doom that he left himself vulnerable to the man before him. Before Loki could do anything the man grabbed him and pulled his face closer to his. Loki's body froze up the second those icy cold eyes met his own. Fear was gripping the boy's mind so much that he almost didn't hear what the guy was saying....almost. It took a second to process the man's words but when he did he knew the gig was up.
“You caught me alright?” The boy hissed. “I ain't out here on a leisure stroll. I am trying to get the hell out of here before someone tries to skin me alive. But you are getting in the way.” He could hear the footsteps coming this way as he spoke. It was only a matter of time now. The big bastard was probably not close enough to spot him yet but he would be soon. “Please just let me go. I'll do anything you want, I'll give you whatever you want if you just let me go. Please.”

The Fallen Angel suddenly heard a voice blurt out from the alley the kid had ran into him from. "So that's why you were running," Azazel said lightly under his breath. Right at that moment, he connected that this guy was a thief who got caught and trying to save his own hide from being killed. He looked towards the guy and raised an eyebrow as he look back down at the guy and listen to him. He stared back at the guy from the alley and noticed how big the guy was. "Yeah that's a big one...I see why you ran..," Azazel joked as to lighten up the mood. He thought for a moment , trying to hatch up a plan really quick before the large guy notice the kid. Even with him being an Angel, he could probably take that guy own yet his powers including his strength becoming something useless to even try at this point of time With his hand steadily resting on the boy's shoulder, he started to make his plan move into action.
"Anything, huh?," the fallen one asked as he stared back down to the guy's face with his icy eyes. " It can't be help then, I help you out so come on,"Azazel sighed and lean back up as he grabbed the boy by his shoulder and quickly blend in with the sea of people in the streets. He would here the guy come towards the spot he confronted the boy, yelling again as he search for the culprit. "Lord almighty you really pissed him of..," the fallen angel joked again this time with a chuckle.

Everything was spiraling out of control so fast that Loki wasn't sure what to do. His plans to flee had failed him time and time again. When he thought he might have rid himself of his first threat he ran to an almost as intimidating obstacle as the one he was trying to escape from. Then he he was about to make a run for it yet again, the old threat reared its ugly head and stopped him in his tracks once again. What was the poor guy going to do now? Loki was cornered, a cornered cat was a desperate cat, and Loki was no exception to the rule. The shifter was too young and good looking to die from a failed robbery, he refused to just stand here and accept his fate. But what could he do? The guy was coming and he was coming for him fast. Even the man he ran into could see that. It looked like Loki wasn't the only one with sharper than normal senses. His current captor could hear him too. It wasn't long till the other man's gaze finally moved from him to the alley. Loki's own gaze trailed off in the same direction.
His golden eyes grew wide as he saw his pursuer come into view. By some miracle or sick twisted joke of the gods the big guy hadn't spotted him yet. Though it wouldn't take him long. The fool wasn't blind or stupid enough to mistake him for someone else once he got close. He had to leave. Now. Loki had ran out of options. In a last desperate attempt to change his fate he had no choice but to plead to the man who was holding him prisoner to help him. Or at the very least let him go. Loki didn't care what the guy did so long as he could get away from this mess unscathed. It was a stupid offer really, Loki had little on his person to offer to anyone. He had nothing of value except whatever he managed to grab off of the big guy from earlier, and his own body. But he threw it on the table anyway. And to his surprise his captor seemed to be interested.
There was something in the way he mulled that offer over though that made Loki second guess this plan but it was too late for regrets. The deal was done, and before he knew it Loki was being dragged off into the crowd out of sight of his pursuer. Loki didn't struggle as he was being pulled into the crowd, he went willingly and fell in step with his would be savior. The other man seemed a little bit amused by the whole scenario At least one of us finds this funny the young man thought bitterly. “Yeah...I tend to have that affect on people.” he replied as he pulled his hoodie up over his head for extra measure. Loki wasn't foolish enough to risk looking back at where his pursuer was, but he kept a good ear out for him. Being shielded by the large crowd helped but Loki wasn't going to take any risks here, especially when he unintentionally dragged someone else into his mess.
“Hiding in the crowd is great and all but I think we need a better hiding spot to stay till big bad and ugly comes charging at our butts.” Loki looked around the street as the two continued walking till he spotted a good place. A smile graced the young man's lips at the sight of a familiar bakery. It was the first shop he had been into when he first came to New Orlands. It had been the spot where he had met a human female by the name of Blake. It wasn't a bad place to hide away in for the time being. “Looks like we are in luck. Come on.” Loki tried to take a hold of the man's hand and lead him into the bakery. Whether the man would let him take the reigns of this operation or not he wasn't sure, but he would head for the bakery regardless. The little shifter would slip through the doors as quick as possible, breathing a sigh of relief before turning to smile at his companion. “Thanks a lot. I really do owe you one.”

The fallen angel listen to the kid's remarks and chuckled more as he look behind them to check if the big oaf was still on the prowl for a bit. The guy was persitent so he gave him that. If he got his hands on this kid, he would surely die or have a black eye for it. He cough some as he rub the back of his head, thinking about their next. He would turn back around into the sea of people before getting pulled by the guy into a bakery. The sweet smell caused a flashback to trigger in his mind. He saw a girl he had met before in his life who was all smiles and sweet bliss, eating something sweet from a bakery like this before. She was enjoying herself and Azazel was as well. It was a great feeling for him, she had taught him so much how to enjoy things and it had showed. Azazel blink for a moment and snap back into reality, nearly frowning as he left the sweet memory in a moment's notice.
He look at the guy's face as it was covered with a big smile of relief for it had seem to be so evident across his face. A good deed Azazel had done today. Which was good in his case for he would benefit from it soon. "You're welcome..," Azazel paused for a moment and tilt his head some to the side. "Say what's your name kid," the fallen one asked as he was curious about the kid. He caught himself quickly when he said he owes him one which he nodded eagerly to. He may be a angel but sometimes its good to get owed. He chuckled to himself some as he kept looking after for that guy on patrol for the kid.

The moment that the two made their way inside the bakery Loki knew that they would be safe. Taking shelter inside of a busy building was a common trick that he used when he needed to make a quick getaway from people that weren't too pleased with what he was doing. When someone was chasing down a thief they rarely expected said thief to be hiding out in plain sight. Unless the guy had seen them walk into the store he would be scouring the streets for them, or rather just Loki. The guy tagging along with him wouldn't be known to the big guy. He had unexpectedly gained an extra shield of protection thanks to this guy. Loki breathed a sigh of relief. He was finally free. He finally caught a damn break and he couldn't be happier about it. Loki turned to smile and thank the guy for helping him out. Only to realize his problems were far from over.
There was really something about the way the guy's eyes glittered at the mention of being owed something that the shifter really didn't like. Most people didn't take things like that seriously so Loki could easily brush the deal aside if he wished. But this guy was a different case. This could be bad. While Loki did say he owed the guy there wasn't much that he could really give the man. Loki didn't have much of anything on him that he could just give away. He didn't know how much he had managed to get off of the guy he stolen from earlier to gamble at paying the guy to leave him alone. What could he possibly give him? Himself? That would be a little awkward now wouldn't it? Loki didn't know what use he would be to a guy like this one. He had certain 'talents' that only benefited those that worked less than honest jobs. Lending those 'talents' out had an air of danger to them that Loki wasn't too keen in diving into for just anyone. What was he going to do about this mess now?
The man's question pulled the shifter out of his troubling thoughts. He wanted a name? Well that was an easy request. “The name's Loki.” the boy replied with a smile. He didn't know how much he could trust this guy but he felt comfortable enough to give him his real name. It wasn't like he could really use his name to track him down. Loki was too new to this city for a lot of people to know him, that was how he liked to keep it too. “Since we are on the subject of names what is yours?” it was only fair of him to ask since he was willing enough to reply. While Loki had a name that was hard to be pinned down by that didn't mean the same thing for this guy. It could be useful for him to know who his savior was so he could find out how screwed he was later on down the road. At best he could make a friend here. Having a friend or two in the city wouldn't be too bad.
Loki would wait for an answer before sneaking a peek outside the bakery's window. The shifter spotted the man who was pursuing him somewhere out in the distance, the man looked a little confused as he floundered about in the crowd before slipping into another alleyway. The boy smiled as he watched the man get further away from him. That was one problem dealt with at least. “Looks like our big friend is moving on.” the boy said as he turned his attention back to the other man. “I still think we should stay in here and blend in with the locals to be safe...though I don't think we can just take a seat without ordering something.” Loki reached into his pocket and pulled out his stolen wallet to check just how much he had risked his life for. Thankfully there was at least a few hundred dollars stashed away in his prize. No wonder the man was so eager to get his wallet back. Loki grinned and took out one of the bills, he would be able to last a bit longer on this. It wasn't nearly as much money as he had lost this morning but it was good enough. “Why don't you go find a seat while I go order something for us in the mean time? I'll get you whatever you want here. It's the least I can do to repay you.”

"Loki huh?" He said for a moment as he took a moment to think about the kid's given name. Loki meant that he was into trickery and mischief, a thief of the sorts and only for himself. Azazel chuckled some before responding to his answer,"That name kind of fits huh?" He let out another laugh as he smile down at the kid's face. The kid had something which he could do nothing but respect. He stop laughing to answer the kid's question about his name. Might as well be honest with him as he was towards the fallen angel. "The name is Azazel, nice to meet you," the angel nodded towards the kid.
He listened to him speak about dodging his assailant for the moment. He decided to take a peek for himself to see the bumbling oaf look around for Loki as a child was looking for their mother before sneaking away to another alley. He snickered some and turn his attention back to the kid. Azazelsaw the kid pull out some cash from the stolen wallet and was amazed on how much was in it. "That guy had some serious cash on him," he thought out loud to himself.
Azazel listened to Loki's words about treating him to something from the bakery which he humbly took as he went to find himself a seat away from the front but still with a good view of those entering the store. Azazel sat back against the chair, thinking what Loki could be useful for. Maybe Loki could be what Azazel needed.

Loki chuckled at the man's comment on his name. “My father named me well. Or so everyone says.” No one fit their name quite like Loki did. Even at a young age the boy was a little trickster. Loki had been the kind of kid that learned how to get on his enemies nerves, get into trouble, and smooth talk his way out of it. Most people wouldn't approve of the way he was, but it was the only way that he could ever be free back home. Loki's life had not been ideal, he had to learn how to get what he wanted in life either by fighting or manipulating his way to his desires. Since he wasn't born a fighter he had gone the easier route, and it worked for him. It still did so far as he could tell. Though it didn't quite turn out that way today. No amount of smooth talking was going to get him out of a beating with the bastard he stole from, but his big mouth did manage to gain him temporary safety. It was up to him to see how long he could make that safety last.
For the moment Loki had managed to avoid the debt conversation and instead got a little more information about the guy who saved him. “Azazel...” What a strange name, Loki had never heard of a name like that before. It was foreign to him but it did have a nice ring to it. It was also a unique enough name that would be hard to forget if the guy was somewhat well known in town. “That's a pretty unique name it suits you just as much as mine.” the boy chuckled. The atmosphere was finally starting to calm down a little bit, especially after the two noticed the man they were trying to get away from run off. They were in a good position here, they would be safe for a bit if they stayed. With the man gone Loki felt comfortable enough to take a look at his prize. Thankfully the chase had been worth it, he had came off well in this exchange with enough money to last him for a little bit. It wasn't as much as he had lost this morning but it was good enough in his book provided that Azazel didn't want a piece of the earnings.
After counting the cash Loki suggested that they chill in the bakery and get something to eat. Azazel accepted the proposal and the two went their separate ways. Now that the little shifter had some time on his own he spent the time he had waiting in line to think over his predicament. What was he going to do about this deal thing? Loki was a little worried about having to keep the promise he made. The boy was always careful about the kind of deals he made under normal circumstances. He didn't make promises that he couldn't keep, or at the very least bend to his own benefit if need be. But this deal he made was nothing like that. “I'll do anything you want....give you anything you want” a desperate offer made hastily, he hadn't thought of the consequences of those words then, and now he was paying for his folly. Should he back of this while he had the chance? This Azazel guy did seem a little shady, he wasn't likely to ask for something simple and Loki didn't have much that he could really give or do.
I am not the greatest guy in the world, but I am a man of my word.[/i] the boy thought. It might be costly but he had to honor his word. It wasn't too late to try and reason with the guy. He was making a lot of assumptions. He didn't know a lot about the guy who helped him out to know if he was bad or not. He did go out of his way to help save his sorry butt after all. Azazel could have easily pin him down and hand him over to that guy back there. There was nothing stopping him from throwing Loki under the bus, and little reason that he shouldn't have done so at that. Perhaps there was some good in the guy after all, this arrangement may have been part of the reason he decided to help him out, but it might not have been the sole reason for it. Loki could have a potential friend here. Friends were useful in desperate times. This could end up being beneficial for the both of them.
When he finally made it to the counter Loki ordered two slices of cake, a strawberry cheese cake for Azazel and a slice of pumpkin cake for himself, then headed over to where Azazel was. “Sorry for the wait, the line was kind of busy.” he said. “Here's your piece.” he handed the other man the cheesecake. “I didn't know what you would like so I thought I'd give you something that I like. That cake is the best cake I have ever tried.” Loki could remember the day he tried cheesecake for the first time. It had been his first day in the city. It had caught his attention because of its name. It just seemed so strange combining cheese with cake but when he tried it tasted better than he thought. That had been the same time he had met Blake. He wouldn't have been able to try it out if it wasn't because of her. Just thinking about cheesecake made him think about her, and that led him to buying the pumpkin slice for himself. It was her favorite so he wanted to try it. Loki took a bite out of his cake, savoring its taste and having something in his stomach for the first time that day. He took a few more bites, letting a bit of silence fall between them before he spoke again. “So...about our deal. I laid quite a lot on the table there.” how was he going to go about this? Loki was still unsure of what to say to the man. He didn't want to piss Azazel off, but he couldn't dance around the issue with him either. He had to be honest. “I am a man of my word. I will do my best to keep my word but I have to warn you. I don't have much on me that might make this worth while for you. But I am sure we can come up with something that might make this worth your time...depending on what you want from me.”

"My father did the same with me, kid." Azazel nodded some as he thought out the meaning of his name. The scapegoat. It was the meaning behind his unique name. Azazel always questioned his father why he was named this. But what right did he have to do so? It was God we were talking about. But it also meant of what sin he committed to be thrown out of Heaven. Greed. As a seraph, he serve as the middleman for both the Angels and the archangels. He had the same type of authority as the Arch Angels along with their power as well to a certain point. How he saw that humans were allowed to possess so many things. It grabbed his attention and made him want to have that. Azazel questioned God and thought that the Angels deserve more than humans do. It was heaven and that was earth, why shouldn't they?! It was blasphemous for they not otherwise. This spark a revolt from other angels, even the archangels heard this and questioned God. So to deal with this issue, someone had to be made an example. Azazel, the scapegoat, would live up to his name and be cast out of Heaven. Seraphs, yet are born with the power they posses, but as one last punishment, God make his powers slowly go away since Azazel's greed was the reason.
Azazel chuckled some and stared at the ceiling for a moment or two before going back to the situation at hand.He kept remembering that Loki owe him for saving his life. The oaf would have killed if he hadn't. Yet the offer still lied itself on the table. What to have him do possibly for Azazel? It wouldn't be anything extreme as in killing someone. The fallen angel could handle that perfectly alone by himself even in his current condition. Now if the kid would've said "I'll buy you something," or "I'll treat you to something." It wouldn't be hurt for Azazel to be alright with the situation but when he said," I'll do anything for I owe ya." His Greed sweet-tooth flourish. Maybe making him join him on his travels around would be good for the both of them. The kid wouldn't go hungry and he can have someone on the job when he freelance.
He snapped out of deep thought for a moment when Loki came to where he had been sitting at. He eyed the strawberry cheese cake with another memory flashing before his eyes. Another warm memory which made him smile. He took a moment to pray and started to dig in to the cheesecake. "It's very good. Great choice kid, I thank you." In the memory he remember how he had tried this cheesecake thing before in his travels, it was very warm and tasty. It seem like the flavor hadn't disappear from him since a very long time ago. He paused for a moment from taking another bite as placed one hand over the other, staring at the kid. "Hmm..what to do with you then," Azazel pondered out loud again. "You're small, short and a bit on scrawny side of things yet you got heart, agility and charisma." Azazel was being blunt, he couldn't help it at times. Azazel continued," You're an thief, not great though but good. So how about joining me?" He smirk at the kid's face, taking a small bite out of his cheesecake, waiting for his next answer.

Loki watched Azazel curiously as he clasped his hands together and muttered to himself before eating. What was that all about? It wasn't the first time that the little shifter had seen the people of this world do such a gesture before. Back when he and his friend had came into this world they had seen many things that they thought was bizarre, this ritual was one of them. As curious as the boy was over the strange custom he didn't interrupt or ask about it. He simply let Azazel do as he pleased while he enjoyed his little piece of paradise. Ah cake, he could never get enough of it. Loki had quite the sweet tooth for a feline. It had taken him coming into this world to realize it. He had always had a bit of a fascination with food growing up, but since coming to this world and seeing all the different unique foods that fascination grew. It was a pity that he couldn't delve in that interest much. It sucked to be poor, but there was nothing he could do about it in his current state. He could only enjoy what he had in the time he had it.
He definitely was enjoying what he had now. It was good to finally have a moment to relax for the day, and have something to satisfy his sweet tooth at the same time. His pumpkin cake wasn't as sweet as the cheesecake Azazel was having, but it was rich in flavor and had an interesting taste to it. He quite enjoyed it. He was glad to see that his companion was enjoying his snack too. “If there is one thing I do have its a good taste in sweets.” the boy said with a smile. “I haven't been to a lot of the bakeries around here but I can safely say that this place by far has the best baked goods.” Loki could have gone on talking about food all day, as he was prong to do when he was in a really good mood but there was more important things to do. Like discuss this whole deal business. Soon enough Loki finally steered the conversation down that path. He spoke honestly about the issue. He had no intentions of backing out of the deal and he didn't want to give this guy any false hopes of getting anything big. What he saw was what he would get. Nothing more and nothing less.
But what would he want? That was what Loki wanted to know. The shifter wasn't sure what use he would be to someone like Azazel who seemed tough and clever enough to get by in life on his own. Compared to any other man Loki wasn't much but that didn't mean he was completely useless. All he could hope was that he wouldn't ask for something too difficult or strange. Loki was willing to offer his talents out for use but he didn't want to end up becoming a slave, or something even more bizarre for the man's pleasure. Loki watched Azazel as the other man looked him over and mulled over what he wanted from him. Azazel didn't leave out any details when he pointed out what he saw in Loki. The boy didn't mind of course, Loki didn't have any illusions about his body image. He was a short and scrawny guy. It was a bit frustrating to be short but it did have its advantages and he liked to use them when he could. Loki couldn't help but smile when Azazel listed out his good traits. “What can I say? I am quite the quick, charming, little man with a heart of gold.” he joked. He was also a little full of himself, but that was mostly for show....mostly.
The boy pretended to pout when the man talked about his thieving skills. “Hey I am not that bad...I just had an off day today...a really off day.” he was somewhat joking as he said that but it was somewhat true. Today did feel like one of those plain old bad luck days for Loki. It was one thing to get caught red handed when he was stealing. It wasn't uncommon for at least one theft to go bad once every month, or even a few weeks. But everything seemed to have gone downhill for the poor boy since he woke up. Perhaps there was more to his little slip up today than met the eye. Before Loki could think anymore about what was going wrong with his life today Azazel made him an interesting offer. “Join you? That's a curious offer. Do you have some kind of gang that you want to recruit me for?” he asked. Gangs were dangerous, Loki had made it a habit of avoiding them when he could back in the early days. That was mainly due to not wanting to leave his friend behind. The last gang that tried to recruit him wanted him to ditch her which he couldn't do. There was that and the fact he couldn't risk revealing what he was to humans. The closer one got to humans the harder it was to hide your true nature. He almost said no out of habit but held his tongue. This wasn't scenario wasn't like the others. He didn't have someone that he wanted to protect anymore, she was dead and he was alone. Azazel wasn't human either. Loki wasn't sure what he was but he could tell from his scent that he was a supernatural like he was. There was less of a worry about keeping his true self a secret. Perhaps this wouldn't be that bad, he wouldn't know until he got more details.
