Azazel watched the boy's reaction to his words. As blunt as he was ever with people. It was just something that the fallen angel has been dealing with for some time now. He wasn't gonna lie that he like the expression he usually saw from people' faces from time to time thanks to his bluntness. The fallen angel was a bit on the evil side for the expression of people's faces always amused him, whether he would admit it or not. His eyes seem to have been glued to the young boy for he quickly started to think. For one he noticed that the kid wasn't human. He quickly assumed as the kid just didn't feel like a human or was it something else. Azazel couldn't put his finger on it, He noticed that Loki was faster than most humans ever could be. He seem he was something out of a book Azazel read in his travels. That book so happened to be a comic book, Azazel happened to walk by in a mall before. He chuckled to himself at the thought silently as he continued to stare at kid's face. He took another bite of his cheesecake, taking in the sweet taste that hit his tongue all of a sudden, stronger than before. He blink a bit to prevent another flashback from coming over his mind again, trying to stay focus to the situation at hand.
H sat there for a moment, waiting for Loki's response to his question earlier. When he finally did, Azazel just simply smirk but dropping his head down, laughing kind of hard. "A gang," He questioned, picking his head up with another laugh escaping his lips, "Do I look like I could pull off running a gang?" He chuckled some more as it slowly died away. The thought of him actually running a gang was somewhat flattering at least to his pride but he couldn't pull it off. His Greed would have consume him right then and there if he pulled a gang. The city would doing nothing but stop him for Azazel would pillage the city whole. Also it would hurt him more than ever, for Azazel allowing himself to sin would let that grace he wants so badly to disappear. But he remain cool and calm as he spoke again. " Now when I meant by joining me, its a way for you to get off the streets and try to earn a living in a better way than stealing." He wanted to help him, the kid seem like he needed some help and was kind of lost. Plus his avarice wouldn't let up on him for he see this kid as a tool for him to use but was in need of friend as a well as a partner. " I mean it's either that or you could keep stealing and hope another guy like that oaf from earlier doesn't kill ya." He spoke with all truth as he took another bite of cheesecake.

Loki had been prepared for almost any request that Azazel was bound to throw at him. Truth be told Loki wasn't sure just what he was going to be getting himself into, but he had to be prepared for anything that could be thrown at him. Being offered some kind of job or recruitment request was one of them. The boy didn't know much about Azazel to tell what kind of person he was, what kind of ambitions he had, or anything much to tip him off. So when Azazel asked him to join him Loki didn't know what that meant. The best he could think of was for some gang or any other kind of criminal organization. None of those would surprise him. Azazel did not look like the most...upstanding citizen. He looked scary and strong, the kind of guy that wasn't afraid to get a little dirty to get what he wanted. The fact that he wanted him to join forces only strengthen that assumption. No man in their right mind teamed up with an obvious thief if they didn't have some devious plans of their own.
It was only natural that he assumed what he did. But when he asked that question the answer he got surprised him. Loki didn't know if it was a good or bad thing that his question made Azazel laugh. Not only did Loki managed to put a genuine smile on his face but he finally got an answer. “Do you want an honest answer?” Loki replied when Azazel jokingly asked if he thought he was capable of running a gang. “It doesn't seem that impossible for someone like you to pull off. I doubt anyone else would be surprised if you were.” The boy slowly looked Azazel over, mimicking the same critical evaluation that Azazel subjected him to earlier. “On the surface the way you look, how you dress, all those neat tattoos, and those oh so scary eyes of yours you at the very least look like your typical thug. But scratch the surface you are more than just a scary face. You are clever, and you have a certain...charm to you too. It doesn't take a lot to manipulate others into doing what you want if you know what you are doing. Anyone with half a brain could run a gang if they played their cards right. Don't sell yourself so short.”
The boy winked as he spoke. Loki wasn't serious about the whole gang scenario, but a part of him was glad that that wasn't the case in this situation. Gangs meant more trouble than Loki liked to deal with. Life was hard enough as a simple pickpocket, combine being a homeless supernatural pickpocketing to get by you might as well be hanging a neon bullseye over your head and be done with it. Adding gangster to that title wasn't something that Loki would jump up and down for joy for. So this offer wasn't for a gang, that much was clear but what was it for? Before Loki could ask for an answer one was given to him. This whole deal thing was going in a different direction than the shifter had expected. “Awww, I didn't think you'd worry about little ol' me so much already.” the boy teased. “That's sweet of you. But you might be a little too concerned. Guys like him don't come by for me often. I won't lie and say that never happens, I've had guys come and try to kill me on more than one occasion for even less than a few stolen bucks...some have even come close to succeeding. But I am a big boy capable of protecting myself if I need to....mainly by running the hell away but I am not so hopeless that I can't do more than that.”
“That being said it would be nice to retire from this gig. I've spent years trying to find a better job than swiping wallets. I am willing to do almost anything for that if I can. If all it takes to leave this life is to hang out with you for the rest of my life then I will take it.” The boy chuckled at the thought. Since he had woken up in this world all Loki wanted was some happiness. First he thought if he could get back home and regain his memories he'd get it, over time as that dream seemed less likely he wanted to just make his friend happy, now without her he just wanted to get off the streets. At least one wish might come true, and it was all thanks to an accidental run in. Just thinking about how quickly his luck turned on him today brought a smile to his face. “I got to say I am surprised how this turned out. The way you talk about this arrangement sounds more like you are doing me a favor than the other way around.” he said. “But I am sure that can't be completely the case here. There has got to be some other reason you want me to come with you. It can't just be for my dashing good looks.”

"Well kid," Azazel began as he put one hand underneath his chin with that same smile present on his face. " It seems like that for two reasons. One I see that you want to get off these streets just as badly as the next guy. And you faced your share of heartbreak and troubles while being on these streets. Secondly, I've faced the same just like you and I'm nowhere near pure so this is my way of gaining forgiveness." Azazel was trying to say things without revealing much. Loki knew that Azazel wasn't a human and quickly assume that he was a supernatural but what he was floated about. Azazel knew Loki was a supernatural as well but still couldn't place his finger on what exactly he was. But Azazel knew Loki would understand why he asked him this offer. Azazel wanted things but with only himself to rely on, things have been moving slowly and not in the way Azazel wanted. It seem that things would work better with someone to help his ambitions. Also with avarice acting as of late, Azazel needed someone to help him with that.
"Oh and back to your statement about the gang, my greed for things would be the gang's downfall and I rather not have all eyes on me" Azazel stated that to conclude why he didn't want to run a gang or almost anything in that nature. His sin would be the end of the group and rather not have that on his mind as another reminder of his sin. He didn't like nor did he actually hate it. His sin in particular has been useful and a hindrance at the same time. The tattoos that cover his body weren't just mere tattoos on him. They all belong to his sin of Greed. The one around his neck served as a reference to someone he lost that he wanted the most to be with him right now. It hurt him to think about it before he didn't let it show on his face. If Loki's eyes were as good as his, Azazel would've been made yet not all supernatural are as observant as Angels are.
He smirk at the kid's comment about him, actually caring about his well-being. He couldn't deny it but it was far from the truth. As his eyes were to tell what Azazel actually wanted from the guy but not as much as Loki thought. Azazel chuckled some and took the last bite of his cheesecake before staring at the kid's face with a smile. "Well if we have a deal," Azazel said low at first. " Let us shake hands, you join me as a freelancer and work with me. And I'll help you to get off the streets and whatever you need." Azazel extend out his hand towards the kid. Suddenly another image flash before his eyes, he let this one happen. He saw the girl again but this time he heard her voice call out hi name. He paused for a moment before he snapped back into reality. It was getting weird for him as he waited for Loki to accept his new life.

Azazel was right about one thing, Loki wanted off the streets. It was a desire he had longed for ever since he had first came into this world. He had tried his best to achieve that, but it was hard to make a new profitable life in a world you didn't belong in. Trying to make an honest living by getting a job had failed him. Humans asked too many questions, and were quick to turn him away when he failed to produce the right paperwork. Charity didn't work either, no one was willing to lend a helping hand to some punk they just met. Stealing was the only way to go, but even that didn't pay off as well as he wanted, not with all the downsides that came with it. Loki needed a way out and this was his ticket. Funny how things worked out. This chance encounter could work out in his favor. Well, both of their favors actually. Loki's desperation and honor would give Azazel a loyal servant to do his bidding.
Loki sat quietly, finishing off his treat while Azazel continued to speak. From the way the man spoke it seemed like the two had somethings in common. They were both troubled men trying to get something better in this world. Loki didn't doubt what Azazel was saying. There was enough honesty in his voice to make him believe that. Just how much suffering he had been through he couldn't tell, nor did he even know if he wanted to know. As for his story, well Loki wasn't about to spill the beans about his own past. Comrade or not Loki was content to bury the past with him.
The conversation soon drifted from similar circumstances to their gang talk from earlier. “Fair enough.” the boy replied. “I can respect that. The 'thug life' isn't for everyone so I can't blame you for not diving into it.” He certainly wouldn't if given the chance. He hadn't in the past and still felt uncomfortable with the idea now. Luckily for him Azazel wasn't asking him to join a gang. But what did Azazel want? That was something that Loki wasn't quite sure of. While the guy said he wanted him to join him and offered up a place to stay Loki doubted it was just out of the kindness of his heart. While the boy was willing to joke about that freely he doubted this was just out of the kindness of his heart. Azazel wanted something, but wouldn't say what that was. Whether it was good or not Loki couldn't say but he had to admit it was tempting. Any work that could get him a roof over his head was good enough for him, but whatever task he was asked to do he got to do it on his own terms. He couldn't ask for anything better. Besides, he did say he owed the guy one. Working for him wouldn't be so bad right?
“You've got yourself a deal my friend.” Loki finally replied and shook the man's hand to seal the deal. “I'd be honored to offer up my humble services for whatever you want.” Loki finished off the last piece of his pumpkin cake before speaking up again. “Now that we have that issue dealt with, and enough time has passed by that its safe to assume our big friend is long gone I think its a good idea to get out of here. What do you think?”
