Weaknesses ✘ His power only activates when he sings. ✘ He needs to focus on a certain target to influence one person, otherwise he will hypnotize whoever is near him. ✘ His powers are less effective when used on a larger audience than a single one. (its much easier for someone to break out of a trance if he's using it on more than one person.) ✘ He can only keep his victims under control as long as he sings. ✘ If for whatever reason he can't use his voice (i.e. he's sick or rendered mute) he can't use his powers. ✘ His powers don't effect those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or take measures to not be able to hear his voice. ✘Concentration plays a big role in his ability to use his powers well. If he is distracted by strong negative emotions, pain, or any other influence his powers aren't ass effective, or take longer to take a strong hold of his targets. Sangerinde is a special sub-species of human that are born with a special kind of power with their voice. By speaking, singing, or any other similar means a Sangerinde can influence the minds and bodies of others, especially those of weak wills. How their power activates and what it does to the people around them depends solely on the individual. No two Sangerindes abilities are alike. For Johnathan his powers only seem to awaken when he sings. His singing voice has an hypnotic effect to it, with enough focus he can put his victims into a trance, giving him or his comrades the chance to strike without worry of any repercussions. This power while great does have its flaws, it requires a great deal of concentration to get it to work on a single target, it can cause an area of effect hypnosis if he can't control it, which can at times screw over his comrades if they happen to be within hearing distance. While his hypnotic powers work its best on single targets his influence of more than one target is weaker, its easier for his victims to break out of their trance if he's using his powers to effect a larger audience. Finally, John's powers strength rely heavily in his confidence to use it. Feelings of fear, anger, or any other negative emotion can greatly hinder his success in hypnosis, making it easy for anyone to break out of their trance.
