Reid doubted everything that Isabelle had said, that her people would actually help. No one ever really did help him in the past and considering how the life he had went, trust wasn't going to become a habit right away. When the PIDA agent hadn't been looking, Reid sneaked away and kept moving. Axium would surely be after him and if that girl had any since considering how their interaction went, she wouldn't keep put there. The landfill was a strange thing to him, it was another one of the things that he never saw before but at least there was no one around yet.
The stupid chain like object around his ankle was getting on his nerves since it caused him to have a limp in this form. Though it was probably better to move as a human. Who knows how humans would react to seeing a large black wolf that could shot out fire? Probably would run and scream in a panic. Course he wasn't aware of the situation the world was in, the fact that most people probably already knew about the supernatural. Course people would probably still stare at him when they saw him considering the chain on his ankle and the lose shirt on him that had a few tears in it still.
Even though he didn't know the time of day, it was rather early in the morning. The sky was still dark, probably around six or seven a.m. Little did Reid know, he was gonna end up with company soon.

Another day, another mission. It had been a pretty damn early morning when Jesse got the sudden call at that. It was things like this that made him hate his job with the PIDA. It was bad enough that Jesse had to push his recording time later because he misjudged the time he hated wasted on other things. It wasn't that bad for the young man to pull a late night recording. It was fine with him, he could just sleep in later if he needed to. This week was suppose to be his week off after all. There was no need to get up extremely early, and Guillotine was perfectly capable to fend for himself while his roommate got much needed rest. That was how it was suppose to be. But no, no the PIDA just HAD to call him in the middle of his recording session, put him behind on his work just to pull an all nighter while he was in a bad mood, and make him drag Gil to waste both their time. And for what? To find some strange wolf dude he never heard of before? Yeah Jesse was not too pleased about this. He and the PIDA had an agreement, since Jesse was still working on all the other jobs he had before becoming an agent he had very unpredictable hours. He had convinced his employers to give him a lot of time off so he could catch up on anything he was behind in, as well as not call him for last minute crap unless the whole town was in danger.
So much for that agreement. Jesse could bitch and moan about it all he wanted (and boy did he did do so with his partner the entire time.) but no amount of complaining would him get out of this stupid mission. Or complete it for that matter. The mission from what little the agency told him was a simple recovery mission. Jesse and Guillotine were suppose to find some kind of supernatural wolf guy that one of their fellow agents ran into earlier that night and bring said wolf man in under their protection. What kind of supernatural the man was they didn't say. Neither Jesse or Gil knew if by wolf they meant werewolf, shapeshifter, or any other supernatural wolf-like creature that existed in this world. They didn't know if the guy they were searching for was potentially dangerous either. Hell, they barely knew what the guy looked like beyond the brief and vague description they were given.
“This whole thing is bullshit.” Jesse grumbled for the sixth time this morning (or possibly more, he wasn't keeping count). Jesse and Guillotine had been wandering through the small town on foot for hours since they had gotten the call looking for the guy. Sadly there had been no results. Since the agent that had lost the man in the first place didn't see him leave or have any clue as to where he would go next, the two agents were forced to go searching for him blind. Even with having a partner with the nose of a bloodhound trying to sniff him out didn't help out much. Jesse had been tempted to mimic his partner so he could help track down the wolf by scent, but thought better of it. Even if he had been successful and could turn into a hellhound too Jesse had no idea what a wolf smelled like to track one down. It was too early in the day now for Gil to keep his true form anyway. Both men would be stuck as humans for the rest of the search. Great. Just great.
“How the hell are we suppose to find this guy like this?” the man continued his rant with his partner. “You would think that they would at least send more than two guys to go looking for this guy, especially if they thought he was in danger right?” This was total bullshit. “I swear to god Gil, when we are done here the first thing I am going to go do is walk into the agency and yell at our damn bosses for making us do shit like this. They can't make us their bitches forever right?” Damn right he wasn't going to let anyone get away with treating him and his buddy like shit. Someone was going to pay for this, one way or another. But first they had to try and find this wolf guy. Jesse tried to think for a moment on what they could do. Jesse turned to Guillotine for a moment, more serious this time.
“If you were on the run from some bad guys that were holding you captive, in an area that you weren't familiar with, what kind of place would you think of hiding in?” Gil might have some idea on this, since he was a supernatural canine that had been on the run in the past. Jesse knew if he was in the same shoes he would probably look for some temporary shelter during the day. If it were him he'd go looking for some kind of abandoned building, or some kind of lot that most people didn't like going to that was easy to hide in. But what kind of places could they find in a place like this? While Jesse was raking his brain to think of a place that their target could be hiding out in the junkyard came into view. The man stopped in his tracks. “What do you think about here?” he asked Guillotine. The junkyard could actually be a good place to hide in. Not many people liked strolling along through trash. It was big enough to hide in too during the day. It was a long shot of course but it was worth the try. “Come on Gilly, lets take a look here. Its the only place we haven't looked in yet.” Jesse started heading towards the junkyard for a bit before turning too look and see if Guillotine would follow him. Hopefully this wouldn't be a complete waste of their time.

Guillotine had been sprawled out on the sofa when Jesse barged into the room. Interrupting a slumbering hellhound hadn’t been the best idea. The hound snapped at Jesse for waking him up. Didn’t the human know what time it was? Gil proceeded to pout. Though, as soon as Gil rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes, he could tell that Jesse was very upset. He was then informed that the PIDA needed them. Now that the plan was out in the open Gil didn’t blame Jesse for being so pissy. The human was suppose to be on leave, However the PIDA decided to make him work anyway. This was something Gil could sympathize with, but the constant bitching was another story. If getting called in wasn’t bad enough, Jesse continued to gripe and moan the entire time Gil was getting dressed. All Jesse got in reply were annoyed growls. Gil’s roommate's ranting did annoy the hell out of him. If it hadn’t been for his medication Guillotine would have tore into him. Luckily, they made it out of the house with no confrontations.
A loud yawn surged from Guillotine’s mouth as he walked at Jesse’s side. He staggered a bit, his grogginess had yet to fade. It had been quite a while since he got up this early. Gil could recall a time where he would be up before the sun pierced the horizon. Ah yes, those were the days.
“Ugh, this is shit.” Gil replied as Jesse made his frustrations known. As they walked along the tired hound’s mind began to wonder. Could the person they were trailing be another hellhound? The thought had entered Gil’s head when the agency compared their new target to a canine, more specifically, a wolf. Some hellhound appeared as wolfish creatures. Not all adorned a rough scaly hide. Hellhound typically came in many shapes and sizes, according to the demon who created them. Hellhound or not, this new target could be dangerous. Was Gil worried? Not in the least. He seemed to be more anxious about going back to sleep than tracking down a potentially dangerous monster.
Guillotine shrugged when Jesse questioned him about finding the suspect. “Fuck If I know. You’re the brains of this operation, remember?” His own tone quickly became snappy. He was getting tired of Jesse’s pouting. It was too early for that shit. It didn’t take long for Gil to become fed up with his partner’s whining. Did this human ever shut up? “No one likes a whiny little bitch, Jesse.” Guillotine cooed, his tone sounded a bit too calm considering the situation. “Yeah, right. You will always be their man-slave. I’d sooner chop my balls off than be someone’s bitch.” Gil was a bit skeptical about Jesse’s ranting. Sure, the man was brave but could he really stand up to his Alphas like that? Who knows maybe Jesse would become an Alpha himself after challenging the PIDA. Oh, how interesting that would be. Just the thought made Gil smile.
Finally, Jesse began to talk about the mission instead of whining. Gil was thankful for that. He didn’t know how much more he could take. “Hmm, If I were running from someone...” He scratched the light stubble on his chin as he thought. “I guess I would find a place that humans didn’t frequent. Like the forest or-” The hound stopped when Jesse pointed out the junkyard. Ah, the good old junkyard. “-or that place…” It had been forever since he’d last been to the junkyard. Memories flooded into Gil’s skull upon entering the landfill. The last time the hound was here had a decent romp with another woman, who turned out to be an angel. Thinking back to that time Gil seemed to grimace. Before the hound lavished the memories of past flings, but this time was different. The feeling of guilt and regret quickly overtook him. That smirk that he had quickly faded to a hard frown. Gil thought about Akeelah, how he cheated on her, abused her. He did not deserve her.
Luckily, Jesse was there to snap the hound out of his depression. It wasn’t time to sulk. He had a job to do. The sound of clanging chains quickly caught Guillotine’s attention. His ears appeared to twitch as the ringing entered his ear canal. Gil’s hearing might not have been as strong as his sense of smell, but he could still pick up on the faint clanging of metal. Well, they were in a junkyard, maybe what he was hearing was scrap metal? Gil didn’t want to take a chance. He suddenly stopped. “Wait…” Gil barked as he lifted his head skyward. His nose flared taking in the aroma's of the landfill. He managed to pick up on a rather interesting scent that seemed to ride on the wind. Gil couldn’t tell exactly where the smell was coming from. With mounds of garbage lying around he was surprised he could pick up on any one scent at all. Guillotine would have figured this smell was just a bunch of garbage. However, there was a distinct aroma of sweat mixed into the smelly cocktail. That was what tipped him off. “I think I smell something.” He said, before turning his attention to Jesse. There is was definitely something here. “I-I can’t really tell where it is coming from. There is too much shit pilled up here.”

Similiar to Guil, Reid's senses were enhanced. Though his hearing was equal to his other senses and his hearing wasn't very great in human form. Though when changed it was rather well. He could pick up the faint sound of what sounded like a voice, but he couldn't be sure at the current moment. Changing wasn't going to help him either. Not when he didn't know who or what else was around here. Moving closer to a large pile, Reid bent down and his amber eyes slowly looked out from it. Their glow was rather hard to not notice and really, anyone would surely notice.
Two faint figures where what he could make out from the distance between him and the two PIDA agents. Pulling back, he didn't know they were coworkers of Isabelle. Though that wouldn't change his desire to avoid them. His speed wasn't that good in this form thanks to the strange chain like object on his ankle and that really wouldn't be a problem if he changed. Alas that was not part of the options board at the moment. What though? Besides running what was the options available. Putting his hands together, Reid tried to think quickly of some other option to help him with the running away part.
Come on Reid...think of something. Reid pestered himself in thought. If it's them then they'll surely be the chickens they are with me and fire.
Fire. Yes! That was it! Even though he preferred to breathe the fire since it was normally easier, he could still use it through a different means in either form. Granted the fire would be short lived but perhaps it only needed to last for a short while. Moving to a different mound of trash, Reid opened his right hand and within a minute or two a small fireball appeared. Aiming at a mound of trash in the opposite direction, he threw it with all his might and took off running before it hit the garbage, making the once small fireball slowly grow larger. Reid didn't look back as he ran, though he could hear the sound of the fire cracking and smell the smoke he was really hoping he could at least get some distance between the two figures he saw and enough time to find a way out of her.

Today's mission was turning out to be a fine one indeed. Jesse wasn't the only one that seemed to be in a rather bad mood over this situation. Guillotine, his unwilling partner seemed just about upset when he had to wake him up and drag him outside as Jesse had been when he got the call. For a brief moment that actually made Jesse feel a little bit better about this mess. Jesse wasn't alone in feeling angry over this. It was a nice change of pace for him. If he had Tb as his partner the man would do a lot less grumbling with him. While John would likely be just as annoyed with getting called on his week off like Jesse would have been, the british man would act too cool about the whole situation after awhile. Hell, by now John would have glared at him and tell him to quit his bitching. Guillotine wasn't like that. Gil had the sense to at least vent when the time called for it instead of bottling crap up. That was the smarter and healthier way of handling things Jesse found. If only his friend could learn to do the same, then he wouldn't be nearly stressed out about life like he was now.
After awhile though Gil didn't seem as upset about the mission itself as he was with the person complaining about it. Jesse of course was completely oblivious to this. The man was too busy wrapped up in his own angry thoughts to notice how he was affecting the people around him. It was one of Jesse's well known flaws, and now poor Guillotine had to deal with it. Gil's responses weren't helping things either. As caught up in his own feelings Jesse wasn't so deaf that he couldn't catch onto Gil's attitude with him. “I'm not being a whiny little bitch!” the man said defensively. “...okay...maybe I am. But a man has a right to complain when he's getting screwed over. Forgive me for getting all butt hurt but come on, you know this is shitty.” Jesse rolled his eyes when Gil said that Jesse was nothing more than a man-slave. “I ain't no ones bitch.” the man replied. “The only slave here is you. I could quit and leave this crap behind if I wanted to. But you? You'd still have to deal with this shit for as long as our bosses want us to. Metaphorically speaking you already got your balls cut. I at least still got mine.”
Okay, maybe it wasn't the best idea to start pulling out 'You are our lapdog' card on Gil at a time like this, but Jesse wasn't really thinking when he spoke. When did the man ever think before he spoke? It wasn't a joke when people said that Jesse Cox was an air head. The man had a tendency to say and do stupid things before he thought about the consequences. This was especially true when he was not in a good mood. Jesse had to mentally shake himself out of his growing rage. No, he couldn't keep getting mad over this. It was time to suck it up and do the job he had come here to do. How could the man ever call himself an PIDA agent if he couldn't focus? Jesse finally let go of his rage to try and put all his focus on his job. They were here right now to look for a wolf man who was probably in danger. So where would they go? Jesse asked Guillotine where he would be hiding if he were the target when the man found the answer himself.
The junkyard! Of course! That would actually be a decent spot to hide, especially if you were short on time and had no good hiding spot to stay in. It was a long shot but it was worth a try. The two agents wandered into the junkyard to take a look around. So far there was nothing out of the ordinary. There was piles upon piles of junk all over the place but no wolf man. Not yet anyway. Jesse didn't give up hope though, there was a lot of places to hide in no matter how big you were. Surely this was where they would find him. Maybe they could split up to cover more ground. Jesse was about to suggest that when Guillotine said he thought he smelt something. Jesse stopped and came closer to his partner. “Do you think it's him?” he asked, he kept his voice low so he wouldn't let the target catch onto their presence. Little good that did. Before the two men could do anything whoever Gil caught a whiff of threw some fireballs in their direction. The man swore as he grabbed his partner and forced him, along with himself to duck out of the way. The fireballs luckily didn't hit either of them but hit one of the trash piles behind them. Jesse didn't see it though, the man's eyes had fallen onto the stranger who threw them as he tried to make a run for it. “There he is! After him!”
Jesse didn't think twice about running after the strange man. But the instant he started after him he realized quickly that this was a dumb idea. Jesse was the last person to be chasing after anyone. The man was too fat. Despite changing his diet and getting into an exercise routine since he joined the PIDA he still was too big and out of shape to keep up this chase for long. I can't run in this body...but if I had another body... yes, if he had another form, a better form he could do it. A risky thought came into the man's head then. He knew a form that would allow him to catch up with the target, but the only way to get it was to use his powers to obtain it. He had tried the same trick twice before. The first time had been successful but the second time he failed, and nearly got himself killed thanks to that failure. He could fail this time too and then be out of commission for the rest of the chase. It was worth a shot though, he had to do it. Jesse focused thoughts on Guillotine for a moment, imagining the hellhound transforming to his true form as he activated his ability. In an instant flames surrounded Jesse's form. The transformation was over in an instant, before he knew it Jesse Cox was no longer a man but a beast.
He was much faster than he was before, and even had more energy too. It was a cinch to catch up to the man. “Wait!” Jesse barked as he came up behind the man. The new hellhound leapt in front of the man to cut off his escape. ”Will you stop running! We aren't here to hurt you, we are just trying to help!” Jesse couldn't tell if he was speaking as a human or a beast, but hopefully if this man was the one they were searching for then he might be able to understand him no matter what he was saying. The man certainly wasn't human, he didn't smell like one.

If only Guillotine had seen this coming. Then maybe he wouldn’t have looked so pathetic. A loud yipe streamed past Gil’s lips as Jesse grabbed his shirt and yanked him back. The force alone was enough to nearly toppled the tall male. Gil had to stagger and flails his arms around like a frantic chicken just to keep from falling. “W-What the hell!?” The hound would have immediately retaliated if a fire ball hadn’t come barreling past him a few seconds later. Jesse wasn’t doing this to be a dick. The human was protecting him. That flaming ball didn’t just pop out of thin air. Someone or something had to be responsible for throwing it. Guillotine didn’t even have time to thank his partner before the fire started.
The hellhound’s nose crinkled as smoke filled his lungs. If that wasn’t bad enough the putrid smell of burning trash was unbearable. The scent was so intense that Guillotine didn’t see the suspect running away. He was fair too busy covering his sensitive nose in the attempt to dull the nasty aroma. Luckily, Jesse was already one step ahead of him. While the hellhound began to cough and wheeze, Jesse barked an order to apprehend the suspect. Despite his new coughing fit the hell hound bolted towards Jesse. Once out of the smoke his watery eyes caught sight of the fleeing suspect. It didn’t take long for Guillotine to catch up to Jesse and pass him. Gil didn’t even seem to notice that he was leaving his partner behind. His eyes were trained on his new target, that is, until a large hellhound rushed past him.
The site of this beast startled Gil for a second. Had the suspect called back up? Guillotine began to growl until he realized the large hellhound looked like him. The large scaly skin, pointed ears, and large bear-like paws looked familiar. Jesse had transformed. At times Gil managed to forget that the human even had powers to begin with. He rarely used his supernatural gift. Then again, who could blame him? His powers were a gamble each and every time he used it. Needless to say, It didn’t always work out in Jesse’s favor. However, luck was on their side today.
Once Jesse cut off the suspect’s escape rout Gil stood on the other side of him, blocking his other path. "You have no where to go, give up you little shit." Folding his arms in front of his chest Guillotine watched as Jesse tried to communicate with their target. Jesse's words were far kinder than his. Gil had been on enough missions to know not to go in for the attack right away. He would play the waiting game for now. If Jesse couldn’t reason with this man Gil would surely take a more drastic approach. The hound flashed a toothy grin. For now all he could do was watch and wait for right moment to strike.

A slight growl like sound left Reid as the 'hellhound' Jess jumped in front of him. Causing the ex-experiment to skid to a halt. Amber eyes glared at him though before he could turn round to run off, Guil caught him off. The real hellhound was given the same glare that Jess had received from Reid. In fact, Reid gritted his teeth and a slight snarl left him as the hellhound spoke. Though Reid's attention was taken to Jesse as they started speaking. Ordering him around pretty much, both of them were. That was something that got on his nervous course Reid's nervous were always fried with his rage. Help? Honestly...help?!
"I highly doubt that." Reid replied to Jesse. "You honestly think I'll believe what you two say? You're both hoping for way too much."
It would take much more than empty words to make him believe what either of these two said. Besides, even if they did more than just use words Reid would still have a hard time believing what they said. It was hard to believe anything with his past, anything good. Help him? There was still the chance in Reid's mind that these two could be Axium. Trying to trick him into going back to that place. No. He wouldn't be tricked into going back there, they'd have to take a corpse back if they were Axium. If they weren't? Oh well, not like it would matter to Reid what these two thought.
"And you're wrong. There's more than two directions!" Reid snarled at Guil before lunging in the direction that neither Jesse or Guil were standing in and turning into the large wolf.
Now on four legs that were long and allowed him to have better speed, plus with the strange chain on his ankle no longer a hindrance in this form. He took off running as fast as he was capable of as soon as his large paws hit the ground. The large wolf didn't look back, more focused on pressing on and not getting caught. This wasn't going to be a easy task for the two PIDA Agents.

Jesse's transformation had not only surprised himself but it seemed to catch the suspect off guard. Even his partner seemed a little taken back by it. He couldn't blame Gil for seeming surprise, it was a well known fact that Jesse was the worst mimic in the world. His powers thanks to being nothing more than a hidden gene in his family's blood line that only appeared maybe once every few hundred years or so, the man didn't come into them till later in life. He didn't have control of his abilities like he should, they were very unpredictable when used and failed most of the time. He might never get control of them because he wasn't a pure mimic. But today for once lady luck was on his side. Thank god for that, Jesse wouldn't know what to do if he had copied something stupid from Gil. With Jesse's new body he was able to catch up to their suspect quickly and cut off one of his escape routes, while Guillotine took the other. Success! They had him cornered now.
If this were a suspect they were chasing down the bastard would be as good as defeated. There wasn't anywhere for him to run. Fire powers or not the man was surrounded by two hellhounds and he wouldn't be able to get too far before being caught in the jaws of one of them. Luckily for this guy he wasn't a suspect. He was potentially dangerous sure, but they weren't here to capture him and take him in for questioning. This guy currently glaring daggers at Jesse was someone he was suppose to rescue. The agency didn't know what exactly they were suppose to protect him from but orders were orders. Jesse could have taken this opportunity to grab the man and pin him down but instead he tried to reason with him. Reason wouldn't work here it seemed. The man just spat back his offer to help right back in his face.
A snarl escaped Jesse's lips when the stranger called him a liar. “I am a lot of things but I am not a liar!...not a good one anyway.” Jesse growled back. While Jesse was a decent actor lying wasn't his strong suit. Hell, the last time he had tried to lie it had been with Akhtar the first time they had met. The young prince had easily caught him in his fib and nearly kicked him out of his store for it. This man wouldn't believe him though, who could blame him though? As far as this guy saw two complete strangers were chasing him down and then claiming to be there to help him after cornering him. It didn't exactly look good on there end, but what were they suppose to do? He had attacked them and tried to run away!
“Look, I know this sounds crazy to you but let's all just stay calm and- Hey WOULD YOU STOP!?” God damn it, Jesse couldn't get anything in at all without this damn bastard running off again! For the second time this morning Jesse chased after the man, or rather wolf now. As bad as it was to have the person he was after running off on him it wasn't so bad. Jesse's new body actually made the chase enjoyable. It was good exercise, it got his adrenaline pumping. It was oddly...exciting. The rest of the world seemed to just disappear in the background leaving just Jesse and his prey. The mimic's lips pulled back in a strange wolf-like grin. God this was good, he couldn't wait to catch up to the wolf and sink his fangs into his tender flesh and-
Wait...what was he thinking? Jesse growled as he tried to shake those dangerous thoughts out of his head. No, he wasn't here to hurt anyone. Why was he thinking like this? He had to put a stop to this right now. Jesse picked up speed, coming closer to the wolf's side. Resisting the urge to lunge out and bite the other beast he instead tried to slam his body into his. The force would be enough to throw the wolf off balance and into a nearby rubbish pile. “WILL YOU JUST STOP AND LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY FOR ONE GOD DAMN SECOND!?” the mimic hound barked at the wolf. “If you don't want us to take you in and help you that way then fine. But me and my partner did NOT travel all the way out here for nothing.” If the wolf had stopped Jesse would come closer to him, his face only a few inches from his. “Like it or not I am not leaving here without doing something for you. Something other than leaving you alone. I can help protect you, if not that I can give you money, shelter, anything to help you at least stay alive a bit longer. You WILL take something from me, take your pick. You can't say no. And I am not going to leave till you at LEAST tell me who it is that has you so scared that you can't stand there and take a helping hand when someone offers it to you.”

Clenching his fist, Gil gave the wolfman a foul snarl. “Smug bastard.” He had just about had it with this man’s shit. Not only had the wolf ridiculed Jesse’s offer but also insulted them as well by calling them liars. Gil couldn’t take much more of this. He didn’t care what kind of bad situation this wolf was in. The damn male didn’t deserve their help if he was going to act like a brat. The beast’s tall frame began to grow more tense with each passing second. He was about to mouth off to the other canine when Jesse beat him to the punch. Didn’t the wolf see that he was at the end of the line? There was no way in hell he would be able to escape from two hellhounds. It would be impossible, or so he thought.
It didn’t take long for the wolf to make a break for it. He even had to balls to bolt as Jesse was trying to convince him to calm down. The wolf wasn’t having any of it.“Godammit!” Gil barked, he was about to give chase when he noticed Jesse was beginning to act very peculiar.
Guillotine had taken note of his partner’s devilish grin as the wolf ran off. Something wasn’t right. Why was he smiling? “Umm, Jesse?” Shouldn’t he be pissed that their target slipped through their fingers? Wasn’t he going to curse and roar in anger? This didn’t make any sense. It wasn’t until Jesse gave chase that Gil finally understood. The grin, that crazed look in his eye, Jesse was out for blood. He had not realized this until Jesse slipped past him. Just the hound’s tense body language screamed predator. “Oh, Shit.” Gil gasped. It appeared that not only did Jesse mimic his hellhound form, but his hellhound instinct as well. This situation had turned toxic fast. Jesse’s powers could very well turn against him in this situation. If the human couldn’t control himself everyone around him would be in danger.
Without hesitating Guillotine allowed his tall frame to heat up before erupting into an intense inferno. His hellish form leaped from the spiraling flames and charged after Jesse. While running behind the other hound Gil noticed that Jesse seemed to shake his head. Almost as if he were battling against his own thoughts. Gil knew this all too well. His partner was holding up a lot better than he had originally thought.
Guillotine watched as his partner slammed into the other canine. Good, Jesse wasn’t using his fangs. It would have been a shame not to have been the one to spill the wolf’s blood. Though Gil wouldn’t stop Jesse if he wanted to teach the mutt a lesson. Instead of tearing into the wolf’s flesh all Jesse did was stand in front of the wolf and bark. Rolling his beady blood red eyes, Gil trotted up behind his partner.
Gil's pointed ears listened as the human spoke. Gil sighed and shook his scaly head. Jesse was trying to convince the wolf yet again! Wouldn’t he ever learn, it was obvious that the damn mutt wouldn’t listen to a vocal persuasion. Jesse might have to get physical. Oh well, Gil was sure it would only be a matter of time before his partner grew the urge to bite anyway. Why should he go on the attack if there was a chance that Jesse would do it for him? Not only would Jesse get to fill the rush of digging his fangs into flesh, but Gil’s hands wouldn’t be dirtied in the process. Ah yes, the perfect plan, he wouldn’t be blamed for killing anyone this time. The large beast licked his maw in anticipation. The problem with that was Gil would have to keep the wolf’s fangs at bay until then. Whether he liked it or not Gil had to protect his partner. With a snort Gil trotted over to Jesse’s side, standing closer to the wolf he gave the opposing canine a deep warning growl. “Listen here, I’m getting sick and tired of your shit…” Oh god, if Jesse didn’t bite this bastard Gil surely would.

Being slammed into just pushed Reid toward more rage as he was sent into the pile of trash. Though he quickly emerged from it with a snarl on his muzzle and his currently gold eyes glaring at Jesse. That was a mistake on Jesse's part considering some of the tests centered around Reid having to fight others to see what kind of strength he had. Course he didn't go straight after Jesse for the 'hellhound' was currently talking. The words being said there added more fuel to the fire. Bad move. Course if they called him Fire Wolf, then it would be worse. Thankfully the PIDA didn't have that kind of info on him. Something he didn't tell Isabelle.
"If you're the ones that work with her, you honestly didn't listen to anything she told ya did ya?" Reid snarled. "I do not have to do ANYTHING you both say!"
Scared? Reid wasn't scared of Axium. He was enraged by them, he hated them. Fear wasn't what was making him run, the desire to survive and be free is what was driving him. The hackles on his back were standing up all the way as he stood there and Guil approached. Gold eyes glared at the real hellhound. Clearly showing that he didn't care.
"And I'm tired of you two, now go back to your people!" Reid snapped at Guil. "I'm not scared, I've been in a cage forever, I AIN'T GOING BACK!!! Now leave me alone!"
Fighting these two probably wouldn't be wise, even in his rageful state he could see this. They weren't Axium considering their lack of knowledge. Even though that might've been somewhat...easier, it wasn't wiser. He could feel the fire in his throat but he held it back. The fire wouldn't do him any good.
"The only thing I need from you to is for you leave me alone." Reid added before turning round and diving into the trash pile.
It was a hard way to try and escape but he didn't go straight through it. He just went to the side and burst out of the trash pile. Running as fast as he could once more. Though he changed it up more this time. He didn't run too far on the ground, instead he jumped onto one of the junk piles that were made out of larger objects and thus made something of a stronger footing. If Jesse and Guil wanted to pursue, taking the high road was a option.
(This might not go well. lol)

This whole rescue mission was turning more complicated by the second. While the PIDA informed Jesse and his partner that the man they were chasing after might be hostile he didn't think things would be so bad if he just explained himself. Jesse after all wasn't a bad guy. His job sometimes meant he had to be a bit of an asshole to the people he was dealing with but that didn't make him an ass. When he had joined the agency he had come for two reasons. The first was to learn more about his powers, where they came from, what he could do with them, and how to control. The second had been to help others. Jesse was no hero but that didn't mean he didn't want to use his gifts for good. From the moment he had discovered his gift and used it to protect himself and one of his friends from being attacked by a monster he had vowed to put his new abilities to good use. Sometimes to do that he had to apprehend dangerous supernaturals to protect mankind from those that wanted nothing more than to hurt them. Other times he had to lend a helping hand to some other supernatural person to save them from harm. Human or not, it didn't matter what they were if they were in trouble Jesse just couldn't turn away from them.
This guy as aggravating as he was, was in trouble. He had barely gotten enough from the agency on just how badly he needed it, but the man knew enough that he was glaring down after someone he was sworn to protect. He just wanted to make sure that this wolf man would be able to live another day. But this guy was not making things easy. The bastard started shooting god damn fireballs at him and his partner (yet another person he had sworn to protect after he let his grudge against him go). If that wasn't bad enough the fool wouldn't even listen to him when he tried to explain himself. Jesse had tried to go about this calmly and tried not to appear too threatening. It was a hard task to accomplish when you were in the body of a huge, vicious looking reptilian canine but Jesse had done his best. Yet the bastard got pissed with him and ran off. That got Jesse's blood boiling...as well as other things. Jesse's bad mood was beginning to affect him, enough so that for a second he had contemplated harming the man he was here to help.
It was strange though, as much as Jesse was prong to angry outburst he rarely ever thought violent things. Something strange was going on here, something perhaps much deeper than just one bad day. Whatever it was he would have to figure out later if he could remember it later. Right now his thoughts were too preoccupied with the damn furry bastard he had to corner for the second time that day. Jesse snorted when the wolf growled and said they couldn't make him do anything. Seriously? He was going to try and debate who had authority here? A flash of a grin appeared on Jesse's maw once more. Who did this pup think he was trying to boss him around? He was the one cornered here. He needed to be shown his place...wait...his place? What was he thinking? Jesse shook his head again in an attempt to rid himself of his strange thoughts. What good would dominating this guy do for him? This was the exact opposite of what he wanted to do damn it.
“You are right, you don't need to do anything we say....if you don't have any intentions of living for much longer that is.” Jesse said. “Don't take that the wrong way. No one here or the people I work with have any intention of killing you. But you can't last too long out here the way you are doing it before something happens. A lot of things can happen to guys like you out here. Some starve, die from the cold, or fall victim by others that prey on the less fortunate. In your case you can either end dead...or back in the hands of the people you escaped from. Open your eyes man, you can't truly be free until you can at least figure out how to take care of yourself. I can try to help you out with that. If not with getting you back up on your own feet I can at least bring the people that harmed you to justice. Just let me help you!”
Once again Jesse's words fell on deaf ears. No matter what he said the wolf only seemed to get more angry and bullheaded. The man turned beast growled in frustration as the wolf freaked out and yelled that he refused to be sent back into a cage. “Are you deaf or just fucking retarded?” Jesse finally snapped back. Seriously, why was this guy being so damn aggressive with him? “I am not here to put you in another cage, but the people that had you before will put you back in one if you don't have someone to help protect you!” The answer was so simple that even someone like Jesse could see it as clear as day. Yet this guy...this guy just wouldn't listen! Despite how hard Jesse tried to reason with the fool he refused to listen. The man wanted nothing more than to give this idiot a quick nip to snap some sense into him, but he would never get the chance at that. Because once again, without anyone to hold him down and stop him the wolf made a run for it again. Seriously! This shit was getting annoying now.
The action should have caught Jesse by surprise, or at least send him into a rage. But strangely it didn't. Once again something just clicked in the man's head the second he saw the wolf's retreating form. It was the same that had happened the second time he had ran off. Jesse didn't know when he had started moving, but before he knew what he was doing he had already jumped on top of a few junk piles after the wolf. Little did Jesse know that what he was experiencing was something primal deep within his subconscious. The sight of fleeing prey unlocked the desire to hunt. It was the worst possible thing to happen at a time like this. With the man completely unaware of what was going on in his mind he was likely to hurt someone soon. At least the one good thing about this was his instincts were allowing him to catch up. Because of his fast reaction time and relentless pursuit he was catching up to the damn wolf. As big as his new form was it was a lot more agile than he thought. Soon enough he wound up in a good position to strike.
Jesse would leap out at the wolf man, grabbing a hold of the beast wherever his jaws could reach and try to use the force of his momentum and body weight to pull them both to the ground. If he could get the wolf on the ground he would try to pin him down. Dangerous thoughts would flood his head then, thoughts of ripping into the prey he caught but he would fight those thoughts the best he could. “Please, will you stop running?” he would plea. “I...I don't want to end up hurting you if you keep this up.” Jesse was starting to feel a little scared now. What was happening to him? Sure he hated this guys guts and all for being a stubborn butthole but he didn't hate him enough to want to kill him, so why? Why was he having this vicious thoughts? “If you don't want to come with me that's fine. I am not going to force you to come with me. All I want is to give you something to help you stay alive and free. If you can at the very least stop trying to run and promise just to take what I have to give and maybe hear me out for a few minutes I will leave you alone. If you can at least promise me that then I will get off of you and get this over with alright?”

This wolf was something else. He barked more bullshit before turning tail and making a break for it. With his fangs bared, Guillotine spat out just about every curse word he could think of. The young hound was getting annoyed with this cat and mouse game. If Jesse wasn’t going to do anything about this wolf’s running problem then he would have too. It didn’t seem to matter that they had come there to protect him. If breaking this wolf’s legs would get the job done then so be it. Guillotine wouldn’t be as gentle with the hound as Jesse was being. Obviously this male wasn’t going to listen to anyone. He’d already made that perfectly clear. There was only one other option left, and whether Jesse liked it or not, they would have to get physical.
It appeared that this time Jesse didn’t intend on letting his target escape. Guillotine followed close behind Jesse. The two hellhounds bounded over piles of trash and debris to get to the fleeing wolf. As they pursued their target Gil began to feel different.
For a brief moment his stomach began to flutter. Seconds later, A strange feeling of euphoria began to wash over the hellhound. Covering him in a blanket of happiness. Running alongside another hellhound brought back fond memories of being in a pack. Those days had been the best days of his life; living in the company of his fellow packmates. He felt like he belonged with them. Being around Havoc and the others was natural. It just felt so right. Now he was experiencing that feeling of belonging again, but this time with Jesse. With his head filled with nostalgia, he had begun to see Jesse in a different light.
Now that Jesse had become a hellhound Gil would surely start treating him as more of a pack member than a human. Why hadn’t the human done this before? Guillotine’s irritation had vanished when the rush of hunting nearly swept him off his paws. Jesse appeared to be under the influence of instinct as well, though Gil was aware he was getting excited. It was easier to regain control now that the sedatives were running through his veins. What about Jesse? Would he be able to overcome blood lust if it were to plague him? If Jesse got in too deep he could very well turn on him. Though, at the time, Gil didn’t seem to worry about this.
Guillotine maw had began to drip with sticky saliva. His instincts had kicked in, luckily the bad thoughts he had once had was nothing more than a faint white noise. He didn’t appear to have it as bad as Jesse. The human had already lunged at the wolf and attempted to pull him down the large pile of trash. With a toothy grin Gil stopped and waiting at the bottom of the trash pile. He was waiting for the wolf to hit the ground. If he did Guillotine would attempt to dig his fangs into his shoulder or flank. Until then, he would wait with open jaws.

It seems that they didn't listen to much of what Isabelle said. The fact that he was distrusting. You can't just make someone trust you immediately. Especially in Reid's case. The fact that Jesse still chased after him made the ex-experiment somewhat thinking okay of him, it seemed they were persistent as well. A trait Reid had formed as his rage build and build in his years at Axium.
"You can't bring them to justice, they're much larger than you think and enough power to keep em safe from you." Reid called back to Jesse as he ran. "There's no one else like me out here, no one ever escapes."
Climbing the mound of trash, it wasn't long before he felt the scaly 'hellhound' jump on him and try to get him to tumble down. However Reid sank his claws into the large piece of wood they were on and remained there. A disappointment for Guil down at the bottom of the mound surely but oh well. Sure Jesse's fangs had gone into Reid's shoulder and a growl left the wolf's muzzle in both anger and a pain.
"You say you wanna help? I told ya how you could do that, besides you certainly seem to want to force me to take something from ya." Reid replied. "Hear ya out for what? For as I know, your friend down there would want me dead and you seem to be leaning toward that yourself."
Changing forms, Jesse was probably still attached to Reid's shoulder, course the form he turned into was the large werewolf like one. Reaching with a free paw like hand, he sank the claws into the mound of trash allowing for him to stay on the mound. The wood surface beneath him and thus Jesse started to give and tumbled down the mound. Though Jesse was most likely safe if the had managed to keep their fangs in his shoulder or probably used something else to keep hold of the now werewolf looking form. The change was just to try and get Jesse off and if that had worked, Reid would revert to his human form. Holding onto the trash with both hands and his amber gaze would be directed to Jesse.
"Why are you expecting me to place any trust in you to accept such a offer?" Reid asked. "Trust in Axium doesn't exist, never has since they do things to you that you wouldn't imagine. If they find out about you, they'll most likely try to take you in as well. So why risk it? I told her not to bother, she should've told you I didn't trust her. So why?"

It seemed that Jesse's powers were more of a burden today than the man had thought. While he had been ecstatic about getting the power he had wanted from his partner it didn't exactly go to well. Sure Jesse had a powerful body now that was capable of keeping up with the agile wolf and likely strong enough to match him in a fight if needed be, the flaws that came with it could outweigh the good. This seemed to be an on going problem with any powers he mimicked. Every gift had both its good and bad side, the man had learned that the hard way in the past. He once passed out after mimicking another agent who had some kind of power to convert spiritual energy into a weapon. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, much like his mimic Gil plan was at the start. What Jesse didn't know was that drawing spiritual energy took a toll on the users energy as well. It had taken the agent he copied years to train to use his powers the way he did and how to not overexert himself. Jesse had no idea what he was doing and ended up using all his powers and fainted before he could stop himself.
Gil's powers didn't give him the same problem, but this new killer instinct was just as bad if not worse than this. The predator within Jesse was making him move, not to just stop the wolf from getting away, it wanted to kill him. The worst part was he had no idea that that was what was happening. There was something wrong, that much he knew but he couldn't tell what. And when the wolf ran off again he forgot all about his blood thirst in favor of the chase. There was no telling what the new hellhound would do when he did catch up to the wolf. The only one truly aware of what was happening to Jesse was his partner. Whether Guillotine would try to stop him or even be able to stop him though was a mystery. For now the only thing fighting against his maddening instincts was his stubbornness. Jesse wanted to help the guy he was chasing, despite all the vicious thoughts running in his head that desire was the one thing forcing him to hold back. Hopefully it would be clear enough to stop him from doing something stupid.
Soon enough Jesse caught up with the wolf and went in for the offensive. The man turned hound leapt on top of the wolf, grabbing onto him with his teeth and tried to use his body weight to force him down on the ground. The bite had only been meant to grab hold of the other beast but he couldn't help but put more force into it then he needed to. The bite had broken skin, and he could taste blood in his mouth. Jesse couldn't help but let out a satisfied growl and bite down harder as the poor wolf tried to hold onto the trash pile they landed on. Both his new instincts and his human side were screaming at him then, kill, let go, it was so damn hard to figure out what he was suppose to do. He wanted more, he wanted to stop himself before he killed someone. By the time the wolf transformed though Jesse's stubborn desire won him over. While he could have been able to hold onto the wold he forced himself to let go.
For a moment Jesse was falling, but the man tried to scramble back up. It was more difficult than he would have liked in this form. He couldn't get a good grip with his paws. In the end he had to turn back into a human to stop himself from falling. Jesse spat out the blood in his mouth and turned his crimson eyes at the wolf (who had also turned back to his human form) staring down at him. The bloodlust hadn't quite disappeared from him yet, but at least now he was conscious enough to hear what the guy was saying. “You aren't in Axium anymore though...the same rules there don't apply anymore right? So why are you still trying to follow them?” Maybe he was finally getting through to the guy if he at least had the grace to stop running. Jesse was more thankful for that than this man would ever know. The last thing Jesse needed was to have his new instincts kick in again, if he fell into them one more time he wouldn't be able to pull himself out of it. The agent took a moment to get a better foot hold before he started to slowly climb up towards the wolf man. “The reason I want you to give me enough trust to take my offer is because it is the least dangerous thing you could do.” Jesse made his way up towards the top of the trash pile and sat next to the other man. “You don't want to come with us right? The only way to make you at this point is if my partner and I force you. I don't see much of a point in that, if I fought you and dragged you with me I wouldn't much better than those Axium guys that trapped you before would I? I think giving you something instead is at least a decent compromise. You get to do what you want, and I feel like I did something to help keep you on your feet. Its a win win in my book.”
“I'm...sorry about your shoulder by the way. I don't seem to be able to think straight. It doesn't help that I don't really know how to be gentle when all I have are teeth and claws to use.” Jesse tried to laugh but immediately felt bad about it. He really did feel bad about hurting someone he was suppose to protect, then again the wolf didn't make it easy on him. With a sigh Jesse reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet and began to rummage through it. Soon the man pulled out a credit card and a went through his other his other pocket for the little notebook and pen he kept just in case he needed it. When he was done writing he ripped the piece of paper out and handed both his card and the paper to the man. “That's my credit card, I am pretty sure you don't have any money on you so you will need that to get by for awhile. Use it to feed yourself, clothe yourself, and rent a hotel room so you don't have to live on the streets. That should be enough to keep a roof over your head for a little bit. You can also use it to get a bus or plan ride out of this city, which I suggest you do as soon as possible if you don't plan to take my offer of protection...which still stands by the way.”
“As for the paper, the numbers on the top is my persona cell so you can give me a call if you reached the credit limit. Give me a call if you ever do reach it so I can pay the bill as soon as I can so you can keep using it. That or call if you ever change your mind or get into trouble. The number on the bottom is the pin for the card, you need to remember it whenever you make a purchase. Keep the card and my number as long as you want. You can go to if you want, I'll tell my employers that you are safe so they won't send someone else after your butt. It would still be best for you to come with me. I don't need to take you to the PIDA, you will be just as safe and free if you lived with me. I have room for one more person, and you might be less of a pain in my butt to live with than my partner over there.” Jesse let his crimson gaze fall down to his canine partner. Guillotine seemed pretty fixated on the wolf man just like Jesse had been not too long ago. Maybe it was some kind of basic instinct that was effecting him now that he thought about it.
“Stop your slobbering Gilly, we don't need to hunt him down anymore. He's good to go!” Jesse yelled before turning back one last time to the other man. “Before you go though, can you at least tell me a bit about these Axium guys you mentioned earlier?” he asked. Now that Jesse at least got a name out of this guy he had at least something to search for in this case. But it was always better to get as much information on them as possible if he had to be the one to hunt them down. “You might think its pointless but the group I work for aren't as weak as you think they are. The PIDA is a secret, well funded, and powerful organization who's solo purpose is to not just protect humans from dangerous supernaturals, but it also is there to help sups in need. If there is another organization out there hurting people like you its my job to find out who they are and take them down. It wouldn't be the first time I have to risk my life to protect others, I can do it again. The whole reason I joined this group in the first place is because I want to use my powers for good, what better cause could I work on than this?”

"No they don't, but that doesn't mean something I've never had will come immediately." Reid replied, referring to him putting trust in Jesse. "There's no help in Axium, they just want their results form their test. There's many things I don't have due to their rules but of course if you meet one of the chickens, the would tell you I hardly did obey em."
Least dangerous thing huh? Trusting the man was the best thing? Reid was still hanging there, holding onto the garbage with both hands and his feet dangling in the air. What shoes he had were gone now, only thing on his foot was the ankle chain. Though he raised his feet and moved them to be touching something.
"It's fine, I've gotten far worse." Reid said. "No, I don't want to. There's always something out there as dark as Axium is, it gets into everything."
It was true, he had broken bones before. Serious wounds, all sorts of things in Axium from the tests and experimentation done on him. Though the unlocking of his forms was one of the worst things he had gone through. Every bone breaking and then moving, resizing, all of the pain being added on and on. That was one of the most worst things he had gone through. It probably wouldn't have happened if Axium never had him in the first place. Amber eyes watched somewhat suspiciously of Jesse taking a card and paper out of the wallet and hold it out to him.
Waiting a few moments, he reached out with one hand and took them. He glanced down at them as Jesse explained what they were and their uses. Alright. So it wasn't anything that could kill him at least. He shoved the items into his pant's pocket even though they now looked like torn up shorts.
"You might not want me in your house." Reid said as he glanced down to find a better footing. "They take people when they're kids, most of the time infants but they still take what they can get. Like a full grown woman in the past who they didn't know was going to be pregnant until they did who knows how many tests on her and when they did learn, they still didn't stop. They're not weak. They've got money, lost of security, technology up the rear end, and many scientists and experiments."
Reid turned his gaze back to Jesse as he spoke. He was being honest. He didn't see many of the other experiments but he could hear them. There was more than one testing room after all. The ones he had seen for certain was a boy named Magus. The two never had a chance to talk but the youngster was probably terrified of him like the doctors.
"Axium is secret to." Red added. "They're trying to get something out of those they take but they end up with something different depending on each and every experiment since we're all different."
