It was a nice day for a casual stroll through the streets. The weather was pleasant, it was nice and sunny out while a nice cool breeze kept the city from being too warm. While Sera preferred warmer weather she found it quite enjoyable. It was a perfect time to just go for a walk, and man did she ever need one. It was a little too boring stay at a home for most of the day. While Sera was the one that decided that she didn't want to work today she was feeling too energetic to just chill on the couch in her undies, snacking on potato chips while watching re-runs on TV. Walking was the least exciting thing to do, but it was enough to just keep her legs busy to keep her satisfied. The people watching was fun too. Sera loved to watch people at times like this. She watched the little kids running around the place playing with their friends, teens loitering about and causing mischief, and even the adults going about their daily lives...and not minding their pockets as they went by. It was a little too hard to resist such easy pickings like this. Sure it was technically work what she was doing, but hey, it was hard to say no to money. She would be mad not to take advantage.
Fifteen minutes into her casual stroll she had gotten her hands on three wallets without being detected. The young woman smiled to herself while she slipped into the nearest alleyway. It was a little early but she wanted to count the money she had gotten so far. “Let's see what I got today.” the girl went through the first wallet she got and smiled again. Score, already the girl got one hundred dollars from her first hit and a credit card too. Credit cards were useful so long as whoever owned it didn't cancel them right away, she could get herself something nice with it today before its original owner figured out what happened. Sera ruffled through the rest of it, taking what little bit of ID she found useful and then tossing the rest of it when she heard something. Sera stood still and strained her ears to hear just what was going on. Whatever it was it didn't sound too good, and it was happening pretty close by too. Sera started to move closer to the source of the sound and she started to hear what it was better. She could hear the cries and pleads of some man, probably older than she was. She could hear the laughter and taunts of several boys, probably in their late teenage years, and the sound of something smashing hard against flesh.
Now this was interesting. Sera could already guess what was going on without having to walk in on it. Still her curiosity and boredom was strong enough to make he walk over to see what all the commotion was about. The girl frowned at what she saw. There were a bunch of guys kicking some homeless man while he cried in a corner. The girl sighed, sadly this was not uncommon to see. Human boys had a tendency to get really violent when they were bored and like to hurt people that were weaker than them just for some entertainment and usually the people that were the most vulnerable were the homeless. No one cared enough about the homeless to help. Luckily for this guy she gave a shit, and she wasn't going to just stand there and let this happen. “Having fun over there I see.” the girl said, grabbing the attention of the boys as she walked over to them. “It can't be too much fun beating up that old guy though. Why don't you let me entertain you instead?”
The boys looked at each other and laughed. The tallest boy took a step towards her, the kid looked her over slowly and smiled wickedly. “Yeah...heh...we'll give you something entertaining sweetheart.” The girl smiled back. She could tell that he thought she was going to be just as easy as the old man. Boy was he ever wrong. This would be easy, Sera could easily beat the crap out of every person here without breaking a sweat. The only problem was the old man. Beating these guys the old fashion way would take some time even for her. There was no telling if the rest of them wouldn't continue beating the poor old guy while she was trying to defend herself. As much as she wanted a good old fashion brawl she couldn't risk his life for it. If she was going to do this she needed to make it quick, and she knew just the way to do it.
“Perfect. Let's get started. I'll go first.” Seraphina tapped into her power, letting heat radiate off her body till flames started to swirl around her. Her smile grew dark as she watched the boys. “Who wants to take the first shot?”

Fionn walked down the streets and alleys of the city, he was tired and a tad bit grumpy from a few days of bad sales of his local pesticide free all natural hard drugs, damn none-hippies. He was wearing his usual attire of a white dress shirt and a black Peacoat on his torso, dark blue jeans on his legs, and black knit fingerless gloves not on his fingers, it all came together to give him somewhat of an interesting look, almost as if he had become rich and lost it all after buying a few new clothes from the local posh shop.
He sighed and quietly reached into the depths of his open coat, reaching into a pocket on the left side and procuring his large half full flask, taking a large gulp as he continued to walk down the rain darkened streets, suckling upon the darkly colored and spicy flavored aged whiskey with a lazy looking posture.
Placing the flask back inside of the coats left inside pocket once more he ducked into yet another dark alleyway, the smell of degraded wood permeating the air somewhat as he did so. He leaned onto a wall and pulled his black satchel in front of himself, rustling through it and counting his supply of narcotics by feeling the individual bags, boxes, and needles with his fingers, rubbing the tips of his thumb over a stray Fifty Caliber every once in awhile as he did so before hearing a sound, it was some homeless dude screaming.
He sighed and groaned, as apathetic as he could be at times he couldn't just let some old dude get killed, walking forward he began to hear a girls voice, telling off the seemingly adolescent men and threatening them, he wondered if she was armed briefly before they came into view, his sword on his back weighing him down slightly as he grinned at the site of the girls power; pulling Roulette off of his hip he pointed it towards the kneecaps of the tallest one, and aimed down the sights... "Bang".
The ringleaders knee exploded outward on to whatever was in front of him, the massive Fifty Caliber round ripping flesh from bone as blood and sinew spread, the veins in his leg hanging out as he fell down into a pool of his own juices.
"I really do hope that I am not interrupting anything." Fionn said as he walked out from the shadows of the alley, his right hand on the handle of the massive blade as his left held out the pistol in a creepily none-threatening way.
"Now, my bullets are most definitely a faster medium of death than the boots of a retard, and there is a..." Fionn paused for dramatic effect, revving up a terrible pun "Hot lady there ready to dish out the same amount of pain." He said waving the pistol around for dramatic effect before settling it back on to one of it's targets.

“What the fuck?”
Seraphina watched all the boys back off in surprise by her little show, even the biggest guy looked pretty shocked seeing her surrounded by flames. Heh, this was going to be too easy. Humans were generally pretty easy to scare. Their general ignorance of the supernatural races and magic meant they rarely expected to run into anyone that could at the very least control fire to the extent that she could. It was convenient in cases like this where she wanted to end a confrontation quickly. Most of the time Sera hated to show off like this if it meant she couldn't at least punch someone in the face first but she wasn't in this mess for herself. She was in it to save someone else, if she could just scare them off she could easily save the old man without breaking a sweat, and for these morons they would get to leave here in one piece. It was a win-win scenario in her book. But things didn't turn out as expected. While Sera stood there, expecting the boys to either run in terror or be dumb enough to take a stab at her a loud bang rang out in the alley.
One moment the kid she had been facing was standing there half dumbstruck and a little scared and then the next he was on the floor, bleeding out of a large hole where his kneecap had once been. Now it was her turn to be confused. What the fuck just happened? Sera turned her attention to the newcomer as he made his way beside her. Well wasn't he an interesting character? This new guy looked every bit the bad ass that he was playing himself out to be. From his outfit, the random giant sword strapped to his back, neat looking gun, to his attitude, this man exuded the aura of someone you did not want to fuck with. She listened intently as the man threatened the gang of idiots, she tried to keep her composure at his silly pun but the smirk on her face betrayed her. Okay, this guy was even more amusing than she thought. This could be really interesting.
“You heard the man.” Sera turned her attention back to the frightened group of morons before them. “If you still want to party you will have to take on us both. But I'll give you the chance to back out. I'll give you ten seconds to pick up your friend and leave this place before the two of us use you all for target practice.” Sera didn't have a gun to threaten them with like the man next to her, but she had something just as fun. The solaris held out her right hand and focused the heat within her to form a fireball at the center of her palm. “Just so you know, I am just as good of a shot as my buddy here.”
“10....9....” Sera didn't even get to eight when the group of boys ran for their lives, scattering all over the place as they made a swift exit out of the alley. Good, that was dealt with. Well...not completely. The idiots hadn't completely followed through with her instructions. The kids had been so focused on protecting their skins that they completely left their ringleader behind. With a sigh the girl let the flames surrounding her die out and turned towards her unexpected partner. “I didn't need your help, I was handling the situation fine on my own.” she began. “But thanks anyway.” the girl smiled. “You were pretty cool and scary back there. I'm impressed. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way. Right gramps?” Sera turned her attention now to the old homeless man they had tried to save. She walked over to the old man and held a hand out to help him up, but the man shrunk back the instant she came near him. Instead of taking her hand the old man ran looking just as terrified of her as his attackers had been. “Man...why do they always run.” Sera watched the old geezer run off feeling a little sad. He wasn't the first person she rescued that ran away from her. Any time she showed off what she really was even the people she tried to protect acted like she was the one trying to hurt them. Oh well, what could she do. At least the man was alive. Maybe one day he would be grateful.
“Looks like its just the three of us now, right buddy.” Sera finally turned her attention on her would be attacker. The kid was a pretty sorry sight, balling like a baby while he laid there bleeding out on the ground. What should she do with him? Seraphina didn't have much intention of killing him or his friends when she decided to take them on. She knew their kind well enough. The gang had been nothing more than a bunch of bored idiots that decided it was more fun to hurt others than do something more productive. She felt no sympathy for the kid at all, but she didn't feel right about having his blood on her hands. She only bothered to kill those that she thought were too dangerous to keep alive. All this kid and his friends needed was a good scare to straighten up. She would have done that on her own if her new companion didn't step in. “So Mr. Bad ass, what you wanna do with our little buddy here?” she looked back towards the stranger. “You aren't going to blow his brains out next are ya?”

Fionn grinned and pulled back as he let Sera take control of the situation, enjoying the sound of her threats to the delinquents as they began to back off, the old man looking the most scared as he crouched into the wall.
As the girl began her countdown he chuckled slightly and reached into his coat again, pulling out the large copper flask once again and downing a long gulp from the canteen, his throat burning happily from the spicy alcohol the flowed through it before pulling the drink away from his face and sending up his left hand to wipe up the few drops that had fallen upon his his mouth, holding the gun still as he did so.
As he watched the two disappear into the the dark alleys beyond he sneered slightly, disgusted that they would be as cruel as to leave their friend, but his grin and laugh were returned as he saw the old man run away too, his footsteps echoing off of the wet ground and into Fionn's ear.
Sighing as he heard Sera's words he cracked his knuckles in front of himself, stretching his back as he did so. "Nah, dumbasses like them aren't worth more than the price of one bullet." Fionn said before chuckling once again, briefly wondering if it was strange to anyone else how often he did so. "Here, we'll patch him up and call the police, tell 'em that there was a shooting and scram." He said, now crouching over the man as he reached into his coat again, uncapping the alcohol once more and pouring it onto the wound as a disinfectant before reaching into his satchel and pulling out a roll of bandages, he looked up to Sera with a smile.
"He's not going to be hurting any more innocents, but we can't let his leg rot off completely, think you can use those hot powers of yours to cauterize this wound Miss Fem Fatale?" Fionn asked as he continued to crouch, the bleeding mostly stopped but the wound obviously too severe for the man to ever walk again, he was most likely going to have to get it amputated even with the cauterization.

Sera watched the strange man man closely while she waited on an answer from him. The guy did step in to assist her and all but that didn't mean that he was friendly. Some people just liked to fight and would jump in the closest one they see, kind of like she did from time to time. Though some people unlike her would then choose to turn on the person they originally came in to aid once the others were dealt with. There was no telling why this man had jumped in, he was either your friendly neighborhood bad ass or he was after something. If he was the latter she would have to be ready to fight him. The girl began to relax more when he said he had no intentions of going any further than he did. Good, so he was probably a good guy after all. “Fair enough.” she said. Sera crouched down beside the dude on the floor. “You hear that buddy? Today is your lucky day. You won't get a bullet through your head.” That wouldn't stop him from dying though. With the big gapping hole that had once been his knee the kid was losing a lot of blood. If something wasn't done about that he would die before anyone could come and help him.
Sera's new buddy seemed to be thinking along the same lines too. Sera nodded in agreement about not letting the fool's leg rot off. “Yeah I suppose we can't let that happen, even if he deserves it. Hold still twerp.” Sera held the kid's leg down so she could look over the damage better while the kids squirmed and cried. It looked like burning the wound would be enough to slow the blood flow down long enough for the ambulance to take care of the rest. It would hurt though, he would likely make more of a fuss then too which would only make it more difficult to do it properly. “Can you hold him down for a moment?” she asked the man. Sera waited for a response. As soon as the dude came over she would get to work. The kid screamed and tried to get away but eventually passed out, allowing her some peace to finish the job. If the guy didn't move though she would just pin the kid down and finish the job herself. Either ways she got the job done.
“There, that should do it.” Sera wiped what was left of the blood from her hand on the kid's shirt and stood up to admire her handy work. “That should hold him up till help arrives. Let's get out of here so we can call the ambulance and maybe get a bite to eat while we get to know each other.” the girl smiled, she was quite interested in her new buddy. There was no way she was going to leave him like this once the deed was done. He seemed like a pretty chill dude so there wouldn't be any problems getting close to him from what she could see. “My name's Seraphina, you can call me Sera if you want. What's your name?”

Fionn shuffled over to the brat quickly at the girls request, sitting on top of the back of his neck, arms underneath himself as he held the mans legs down with his ambidextrous hands, allowing Sera enough time to get the patch up job done.
"Shut up dumbass, if you hadn't beat up that old man you'd still have both your shiny kneecaps." He said in somewhat of a witty but annoyed way as he continued to hold the squirming man down, his whimpers echoing throughout the wet alley as the girl finished up the job, standing up as she admired her work, giving him a second to admire her as she did so, checking her out from below as he looked up at her in a way that would make it hard for her to figure out what his eyes were really looking at, he liked what he saw.
Fionn moved forward once again, grabbing up the slightly bloodstained roll of bandages from earlier and quickly throwing them around the delinquent's leg in a lazy and half-hearted way as he too stood up and admired the work of the worlds best back alley surgeons.
Turning to the girl at the mention of her name and the promise of food he broke into an even happier grin than before, attempting to adjust his posture to make himself look less slovenly as he did so, the blood on his hands was not helping. "I'm Fionn, most people call me that at least." He said before chuckling slightly, the mood was surprisingly light despite the fact that there was a gravely injured man behind them. "Anyway, I know of a good place around here, our patient survived, so isn't that a cause for celebration Doctor Sera?" He chuckled again, now moving down the alley with splashing, sloshing sounds from the puddles that had formed again, stepping outside to be greeted with rain, rain that washed away the blood as he pulled out his cellphone.
"Hello, 911? Yes, I'd like to report a shooting." He said into the phone, giving details to whomever was on the other end, soon enough the sounds of Police and Ambulance would be heard by Fionn and Sera if she was following him, his back turned to the vehicles that were now oh so far away, far away enough to not be able to track him and anyone with him atleast.

As far as patch jobs went this one wasn't too bad. It really did help that her new friend held the stupid twerp down for her before he ended up passing out. Seraphina was no surgeon but at least she knew her powers were slightly useful in this case. There was no way that any bandaging she could do on her own would help stop the blood flow. Not like she had any bandages of which to speak of. Sera never really thought about carrying bandages around. It was rare for her to ever get too badly hurt when she went out causing trouble, even most of the people that she jumped in to save their hides ever got in a state like this where she would need to patch them up just to live long enough for help to arrive. If she had been here alone she wouldn't have been able to do much. But the dude she was with was not just useful for kicking ass. With her part of the job done the man pulled out some bandages from his fancy coat and started wrapping up the damage. There, they were finished now. It wasn't too bad of a job. It would at least keep the idiot alive by the time they left.
Now that that was over with all they really needed to do was get the hell out of here. While that was what they should have done Sera couldn't help but take a moment to introduce herself. It wasn't going to kill the stupid human boy if she at least talked to her new buddy anyway. This dude was too interesting for her to just leave without saying anything. She wanted to at least get to know him a little, so she threw in the offer of getting a bite to eat so they could talk more. She wasn't sure about him, but she was feeling a little bit peckish now, and she could afford to pay for both of them at the moment. The man chuckled at her offer and introduced himself as well. “It's nice to meet ya Fionn.” the girl replied cheerfully. Fionn mentioned knowing a good place to eat out to celebrate. “It sure is Doctor Fionn.” she joked back. “Let's blow this Popsicle stand!” Sera walked along side Fionn as he made his way out of the alley.
It was raining by the time they had made their way back into the streets. “God damn it.” the girl cursed and glared up at the sky. It was just like her luck to pull this kind of shit with her. When she had left the house earlier today it had been bright and sunny out, with no hint of bad weather to come any time soon. If she had known this was going to happen then Sera would have stayed at home. The solaris hated rain with a passion, it was only natural for a person with her gifts to feel that way. Water made it harder for her to use her powers effectively. While she didn't rely on her fire powers solely for fighting it still was a huge disadvantage that she didn't want to risk. It didn't help that she was wearing mostly white too. The last thing she wanted to do was let everyone and their mother see her bra through her damn shirt. The girl quickly ducked under some cover not too far away from where Fionn stood and waited for him to finish his call. It didn't take long for the sirens to sound after he was done. “Sounds like our queue to leave.” she said once he was done. “Tell me where you wanted to go so we can scram before the weather gets worse.”

Fionn hung up the untraceable phone, sliding it into his pocket smoothly as he looked back up towards the girl, shielding herself from the rain by sliding herself under cover, it was sort of cute to him the way she did it, almost like a scared cat. He cracked his neck slightly and looked behind himself at the noise of the sirens, smirking, he looked back at the girl just in time to catch her words on them and how they should leave, he began to think about the fastest route to the eatery, which while not far was definitely still a little ways away. Losing his train of thought he began to think about the girl next to him again, it had been the first time since he landed in this boring world that he had seen someone display any form of "Power", and hers was a very interesting one, the way she controlled the fire was beautiful in his opinion, he wanted to know more.
"It's a little place not too far from here called "Marco's", good food and low prices, I'll pay though if you're strapped for cash." He said happily, resting one his right hand on his right hip as he finished the explanation, the rain continuing to pound on to the street, picking up slightly as it slid off of the roofs of various buildings and houses, making the street glint beautifully in the darkened sunlight.
Just as Fionn was about to begin moving again he realized that he had not brought an umbrella of any sort that he could give to the rain-sensitive girl, thinking quickly he grinned at her again and reached backwards, grabbing the handle of his massive (and very out of place for this world) blade, ripping it off of the straps that kept it so perfectly on his back and offering his left hand to the girl, his right holding the blade over his head, the rain sliding off of it like the umbrella he had not brought.
"Now we can leave I presume?" He teased as he cocked an eyebrow, his facial expression on purposefully funny as he waited for the girl to step under his deadly umbrella, the size of the sword and the fact that it was covering him also would likely force her to come in closer to him, near shoulder to shoulder at the most as he would begin walking down the street to the eatery, his walk happy with a spring in his step as he would do so.

Marco's huh? Seraphina had heard of the place before. She hadn't visited there though, but she had at least passed by it on the way here. Luckily for them Marco's wasn't too far away from where they were. It was still a bit of a walk though and from the look of it neither of them had an umbrella to shield them from the rain. That sucked but there wasn't much to do about that. “Nah, there is no need for you to pay. I got it covered.” she said, pulling out her 'brand new' credit card. She still had a bit of time before the original owner cancelled the thing so she might as well put it to good use. Even if she found out it was cancelled she still had at least one hundred dollars on her, that was more than enough to pay for the two of them. “Come on, lets go to Marco's now. If we are lucky the weather will clear up by the time we are done.” It wasn't likely to happen but a girl could dream. It would really suck if she had to trek all the way home like this. Maybe she could just wait out the weather with Fionn before she headed back. Sera wasn't in much of a rush to get back. She had come outside to have a bit of fun till she felt like going back to crash. Thanks to Fionn Sera wasn't likely to do that any time soon. Rain or not.
Just as Sera was about to accept her cold, wet, fate Fionn came up with the strangest yet perfect solution to their problem. The girl watched him draw his sword, brow raised as he lifted it above his head as a temporary shield from the rain and held out his hand to her. Sera couldn't help but giggle at the sight of him. Out of all the ways one could use a sword no one in their right mind would ever think of using one like this. But it did seem to work, there was no way she could deny that. “Yeah, we can go.” she laughed and took his hand. The girl walked along side Fionn as they headed towards their destination. It was a little strange holding hands with a guy she just met. It had been a long time since she had held hands with anyone. That had been back in the orphanage as a little kid, even then it had never been with a boy. Sera just ignored that feeling though, it wasn't that bad nor was it the oddest thing she had to deal with before. “You really are something else Fionn. I've never seen a guy carrying a giant sword around like that. I wonder just what you are.”
It was pretty obvious that this guy was anything but normal. Besides his curious get up she could tell something was with him. Sera was well aware that New Orlands was a major gathering place for all sorts of supernatural beings. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't pass by someone that wasn't human. Usually Sera could usually sense if the person next to her was something different. That wasn't the case with Fionn though. It was strange, she couldn't tell what Fionn was. There was a tiny spark, something lurking in his aura that she could feel but for the most part he felt rather human. Whether he was human or not it was pretty obvious that he wasn't like any normal human. The fact he didn't seem the least surprised or taken back by her powers at least meant he was used to being around people like her.

Fionn smiled and looked rather content as he walked towards the eatery with the girl holding his hand, he found her very interesting and most definitely wanted to figure out exactly what she was, even if he got very strange looks from people as his footsteps echoed out, footsteps that echoed under a seventy pound piece of steel and wood, his usual way of playing off the blade being to simply state that he was "cosplaying" as an obscure Anime character, it worked quite well and few (No one as of yet) bothered with asking any further about the mysterious electricity powered steel girder that he seemed to have mistaken for a weapon.
A few steps later he would hear the girls question and he would blush slightly, his awkwardness barely contained as he attempted to hold himself together, he didn't want to answer that question, he didn't want to think of his Mother, and oh god he definitely didn't need to think of his father.
He continued to feel awkward for a few more moments as he attempted to figure out a way to say what he was without sounding completely loco, his ideas and thoughts interrupted with his hate for his father, what right did the man have to treat his Mother that way? What right did that man have to beat him senseless? What right had that man had to force him and his mother into bad circumstances with his own laziness and spite? Fionn's train of thought continued on like this for another second before snapping himself back to reality, he liked this girl a lot, he didn't want to seem like a complete weirdo in front of her, he decided to tell the truth.
"A lot of people wonder what I am, I mostly tell them something witty like "Your worst nightmare" or "The guy who's ending your lucky streak"." He said, his confident grin occupying his face again, replacing the somewhat awkward look from before as he pushed his uncertainties away.
"Truth is, though it probably isn't too much of a surprise to you, is that I'm only about like, 50% Human I think? Not sure on the specifics really but my Mother had Cat Ears, it was cool, I didn't get them though for some reason, I can drink like a sailor and not get drunk though, so that's cool." He said in a cool voice as they continued on their journey, his right arm beginning to get a bit tired from holding up the massive blade, and as such he accidentally tapped the girl on the head with it, seeing an opportunity to turn awkwardness into conversation he quickly responded so that she would not realize he had accidentally poked her on the head with a sword almost the size of herself.
"Anyway, I can already guess that you're in a similar situation, seeing as I have met so many full Humans that can throw fire." Fionn teased before chuckling slightly, he was very thankful at that moment for his way with words, he really disliked awkwardness, his dad had always been awkward around other people, especially when they started to notice he and his Mothers bruises, the way they seemed so reluctant to disobey him, etcetera.

When Sera asked Fionn what he really was he reacted in a way that she hadn't expected. Sera didn't come right out with a question like this that often, mainly because she rarely had the chance to talk to others. The solaris was generally pretty open and friendly to those she wasn't trying to pound into the ground but that didn't mean that most people were friendly with her. Being a thief was part of the reasons why she didn't have many friends, people were less inclined to be chummy with you when they caught you ruffling through their things. The main reason why was because of what she was. Humans seemed really distant with her just on the way she looked, not because of how she dressed but her physical appearance. Whether they just saw he as an albino or sensed that she was something else she couldn't say, but most humans avoided her. When they saw what she could do they feared her. It hurt having to stand the awkward looks and whispers about her as a child, it didn't affect her as much anymore but it was like that for anyone else in the same position. She could understand why some people were reluctant to say what they were.
She had never seen anyone blush though. That was new. The girl watched the young man with interest. He was kind of cute when he blushed. All guys were cute when they blushed really, it was things like that that tempted her to tease shy boys just to see them squirm. She was almost tempted to do the same thing to him, but she decided better on it. The topic they were on might not be too easy for him to talk about, if they had been talking about anything else less serious then she would not hesitate to tease away. Sera remained silent while Fionn tried to explain his true identity, even when his sword hit the top of her head she kept quiet so she wouldn't interrupt him. Soon she got her answer. Fionn was a hybrid. So that explained the strange feeling she was getting from him. He did feel a bit more human than he did supernatural, an interesting blend but confusing as all hell to read. Sera chuckled when he mentioned not meeting many humans that could control fire.
“That's because I am not human at all.” she replied. “I'm what you call a Solaris. We are human looking creatures that can manipulate fire. We might look a lot like humans but we can't be killed by normal means, can heal from injuries that normally would kill any normal person, we even age slower than they do...at least that is what I read anyway.” Seraphina had spent a lot of time researching what she really was after she had left the orphanage. It had taken years to find out what she might be, and even then it was all guess work. She only assumed she was a solaris at all because there was a lot of characteristics that fit that description. There were plenty of other fire based races in the world but the solaris description fit the closest. It didn't account for why her hair was white and her skin was so pale but everything else about her fit the bill.

Fionn listened intently to the girls words, he hadn't been expecting to get answers out of her as easily as he had, and the answers were almost exactly what he wanted, knowing about things having always been something he enjoyed, seeing as being in the dark on things annoyed him to no end.
He briefly let his eyes wander on the girl, looking her up and down to study her figure as they continued to walk, he couldn't help but wonder how a girl who was not human in the slightest could come to look so fantastically attractive to his tired, normal eyes. But the truth was that it really did amaze him, he began to wonder random useless things, like how their biology would work, if their kids immediately gained fire powers, even some weirder things, such as one invading thought that wouldn't go away, the thought being what would happen if he had kids with her, he began wondering in his awkward mind if it even worked, would the kids end up with the cat ears from his moms side of the family, if they would get fire powers or his own peculiar powers, and whether or not they would be born Albino.
He kicked himself mentally for the borderline creepy thoughts, he had just met this interesting girl and he was already near fantasizing about having children with her, that actually was somewhat creepy the more he pondered it, how could he possibly think like that and expect to survive in normal society, hell the girl didn't even seem attracted to him, why would he think that way?
He kicked himself mentally again for pushing his thoughts back into a bad zone, he really hoped that he wasn't coming across as creepy to the girl he had begun to admire, no! He couldn't think like that, you can't just start thinking like that!
He kicked himself mentally one more time, for he had always had trouble keeping his thought process fully straight, and it made situations like this rather awkward, he hated having to keep himself sane all of the time, he wished very much he could be normal sometimes because of this, but sadly one of the few things that magical powers couldn't change was whether or not you were different from the everyday Joe.
"It's surprising to hear that you're not really Human, I would imagine most girls attractive as you would be." Fionn teased before chuckling, his comment obviously meant to be more flirtatious than rude, the sign for "Marco's" was just up ahead and obvious from where they were walking. "But then again, I don't exactly look much like a kitty cat, now do I?"
Fionn walked up to the eatery known as Marco's, he stood in front of it for a moment and looked up at the sign, they were open thankfully, and didn't seem to be to busy so it would be easy to just pop in and grab something quick. "Shall we?" He asked Sera as he let go of the girls hand, continuing to hold the long sword over her head with ease as he opened the door, beckoning for her to go in before him.

There was something going on in Fionn's head when Sera tried to explain what she was to him. What it was she didn't know, in fact she didn't really seem to notice the inner turmoil going on with the man she was walking next to. Her thoughts were more focused on giving the run down of her species than with the people around her. Her own mind drifted back to the days when she had been ignorant of everything. It was kind of nice being able to give an explanation like this to someone. Back in the past she could not even manage this much. As a kid she had assumed that she was human, a really odd looking human that had some kind of disorder that made her body take longer to grow and develop like the other kids. It had taken that incident with her friend where her powers had surfaced for her to know that what she believed was nothing more than a lie.
As much as Sera liked her powers she wished she hadn't found out she wasn't human like that. If that incident didn't happen maybe her friend would still be alive. In the end Sera had to blame her parents. The only ones who would have known what she was and teach her how to wield the power she had would have been them. But the only people that could have gave her any insight in what she was had abandoned her when she was too young to even remember their faces. They didn't even have the decency to tell the workers at the orphanage what she was so Sera could find out herself. Sera had to find out on her own, even now she couldn't be certain she had the right idea. Screw them, she didn't need their help. They had left her to fend for herself and she managed to do just that. She never knew her family but she didn't need to know them to know that she was better than them. Sera turned her focus back to Fionn, while it sounded like he at least had his family growing up they didn't tell him what he was. Perhaps they decided not to because he seemed more human than anything else. It seemed rather stupid not to, but at least she wasn't the only one that was left in the dark about that. That much they had in common at least.
Fionn seemed rather surprised to hear that she wasn't human at all. The first part of his statement was pretty funny to hear. While most humans mistook her as one of her own they only did so because they didn't know that things like vampires, werewolves, and the like existed outside of stories. Those humans that were aware of the supernaturals, and most supernaturals themselves could tell right away that she wasn't a human. Fionn was the first person that fell in the latter category that couldn't tell the difference. That alone would have been surprising enough but his next statement was the thing that really caught her off guard. The girl's face turned scarlet for a moment and she quickly turned her face away from him so he wouldn't see it. “Well....that's a new one.” Sera had been called a lot of things before from asshole, bitch, and even ghost whore by some really pissed off demonic dog thing but attractive was the last thing she expected to here from anyone. Sera quickly shoved the awkwardness of it aside, it was a compliment and she might as well take it that way.
“But you know what they say about supernatural girls, the attractive ones usually aren't human.” she laughed. The girl chuckled again when Fionn said he didn't look much like his mother did. “That's too bad, I think you'd look even cuter with kitty ears. Then I could take you home as my pet, give you a toy mouse to play with and some catnip.” the girl teased. The pair had made it to Marco's soon after her comment. Fionn opened the door for her and Sera slipped past him, giving the man a quick thank you and turning to keep the door open for him to come inside too. When Fionn walked in with her Sera moved where she could get a better view of the menu. There were a lot of options to choose from that she didn't know what to try out. “So tell me Fionn, since you have been here more than me, what would you recommend to try out?”

Fionn blushed ever so faintly as he heard the girls words about being her pet, his skin reddening more as he realized the implications of some of her words, oh the glorious implications that he saw in his strange, PTSD ridden mind. "W-wait, she thinks I'm cute? Oh hell yeah! W-wait, did I remember to wash my hair last night? Oh god no, what if I didn't and my hair looks all greasy and sh*tty? Oh god no what if I forgot to clean my jacket as well from when I spilled that pasta sauce on it last night, aaaaaah sh*t!" He took a second to calm his thoughts as the blush remained ever so faintly once again, as he had managed to take control of it enough to make it fade a bit.
"Oh no, but what if she only thinks I'm cute, and doesn't think I actually look handsome or anything like that, god damn it I'm not cute, I kill things like, all of the time!" Fionn's blush was now gone as he had managed to get it under control, his cocky grin was still smeared upon his happy and, despite his worries, attractive face.
"Well if you want to take me home even if I don't have the ears I wont argue." He said before chuckling. "Oh god I hope that sounded cool and not perverted, ugh why do I gotta be such a mess around hot girls!" He thought as he continued on; he had gotten rather good at hiding his emotions; even the more embarrassing ones.
Watching the girl step inside and hearing her thank you he quickly took the massive blade and spun it around on his finger through the trigger guard like it was an old fashioned cowboy revolver before quickly sliding it on to the holster and reaching behind himself with his left hand to snap the buttons on the straps that wrapped around it closed, locking it into place on his back.
Stretching his back slightly to get used to the extra weight Fionn pushed his hands together in front of himself, cracking his knuckles and yawning as he did so before opening the door to the Cafe once again and stepping inside, his footsteps echoing out into the room as his large height and weight pressed down upon the hardwood floors, the usual hipsters sitting around and occupying most of the seats except for three, one of the seats was next to the window in the front, one next to the window at the side of the building, and one at the back next to the fireplace. He stepped forward and took his place next to Seraphina before checking out the menu at her words.
"Hmm, If I had to choose I would recommend the bagels, they're pretty well done, the soup of the day is also always a good choice. But that's just me, so I can't guarantee that you'll like it as much." Fionn said looking before the man behind the counter came up and said the usual things, asking the two what they wanted as Fionn stepped forward and ordered the aforementioned bagel, as well as a large chocolate brownie, obviously forgetting that Sera had offered to pay. "Oh yeah sorry I forgot to say, the Brownies are good as well."

Sera's little joke had some interesting results than she had expected. The solaris always liked to crack jokes and poke fun of her friends whenever she had the chance. Depending on the kind of person she was with they would either laugh along with her or roll their eyes at her lame attempts at comedy. But her favourite kind of reaction she would get in those moments were the more embarrassing ones. Seraphina didn't know why she liked making guys blush but she did. It was one of the reasons she liked to befriend shy guys, it was so unbelievably easy to make their faces go red. Guys like that were hard to come by though. Shy guys typically didn't go hang out at bars, or clubs, and rarely did you find them roaming around the alleys late at night. It was a little sad but she didn't really mind, there were always plenty of chances to run into guys like that. She didn't expect that she might have gotten lucky today with the guy with her now. Fionn had seem so cool and strong, not the least bit shy or awkward with the way he looked and acted. But it was hard to miss that blush, it was faint but it was there.
A wicked grin graced Sera's lips. She liked this new side of Fionn, there was no way that she was going to just let this golden opportunity to see Fionn's blushing face slide so easily. “You would like that wouldn't you?” Sera made no attempts to hide her growing mischievous grin. “It would be fun though I never had my own pet cat person before...I wonder how feline you might really be. Would you purr if a rub your belly like a real kitty cat.” Sera gently rubbed Fionn's stomach with her free hand before laughing. Yup, Fionn was going to have some trouble with this girl. It was his own fault for not keeping his guard up with her. While Sera wasn't likely to set his ass on fire she could be pretty ruthless in her teasing if she really wanted to get a reaction out of someone. The solaris at least gave the poor man a little break when they entered Mark's. Sera's drifted from making Fionn blush to the business of food. This was the first time that Sera ever set foot in this place so she wasn't familiar with the menu, and it didn't help that the menu was pretty big too. She wasn't sure what she was in the mood for too which only made the task of picking something even harder. At least she wasn't here by herself or this would take all day. Sera turned to Fionn and asked him what he had to suggest and he pointed out the soup of the day did sound pretty good , but she wasn't in the mood for soup. The girl looked over at the bagel choices, they didn't seem half bad, but the sandwiches also seemed pretty good too. Fionn was already filling out his order when he also mentioned the brownies. Okay, she did have a bit of a craving for something sweet right now so that would be a good thing to try.
“Alright.” the girl said, moving up to the cashier to place her order. “Hey, can I have one club sandwich, one brownie, and a cream soda with it please? I'll pay for his order too.” The cashier punched in both their orders, and in a few minutes they both had their food. Now the only thing they had to worry about was seating. Sera looked around the room, the place was pretty packed. It wasn't too surprising given the time of day, but it didn't do well for them. Thankfully there were three open spots available. There were two window seats, one at the front and one at the side, and the last one was next to a cozy looking fireplace. Sera decided to go for the one that felt the most comfortable, which of course was next to the fireplace. It would have been a good idea to stay by the windows to keep an eye on the weather but they could still catch a glimpse of the outside from there. “Come on, lets grab that spot there before someone else takes it.” Sera ushered towards the fireplace before walking over and sitting down.
