Playing with fire (Fionn/Open)

Fionn put his guard up as he felt the hand touch his stomach through the shirt which lied underneath his open jacket, his guard being up so that he would be able to resist a soft purr that could build up at times. "Oh god, is she coming on to me or trying to embarrass me?" He wondered before the girl stopped and walked inside, he really couldn't deal with much more of this if he wanted to avoid embarrassing himself, for as much awesomeness being part Cat Person was, what with the superb strength, speed, and reflexes, being able to purr wasn't always a good thing.

He looked at Seraphina with a pleased but surprised look as he heard her offer to pay, realizing it wouldn't be a good idea to dispute her offer he decided to simply go with the flow. Though this was somewhat easier to do seeing as her order had been larger than his, which made it so that he would not have to feel guilty about freeloading or whatever the proper term was.

The mans food arrived a moment later, his stomach growling loudly as he picked it up almost hurriedly as he quickly ripped a piece off of the bagel, the cream cheese sliding out of it and onto his thumb and index finger as he did so before plopping the little piece of bread and dairy down on his tongue, chewing it happily for a moment before swallowing it down with a satisfied gulp. He had not realized just how hungry he was until now, so being able to finally eat was a huge relief for him, especially with the company he had, even though he wasn't actually sure how he felt about said company. The reason being that while Seraphina seemed nice and all, he wasn't sure if she was trying to do him or do him in, her words were somewhat strange in the way they were used and he was absolutely positive that she was going to try to embarrass him at some point, though this was probably just his cat genes messing around with his head and making him superstitious like they always seemed to do when attractive girls were around.

Soon enough Fionn heard the girls idea to go to the fireplace seating, nodding his head with a slight "hmm" sound he followed her along to the warm and comfy seating before sitting himself down next to her, it was rather nice sitting on the pleasantly hot hardwood floor next to the girl as he tore another piece off of the bagel and threw it into his ready mouth, his smile remaining as he made satisfied sounds while chewing on the food before gulping it down once again and settling down into a slightly more comfy position. "Hey Sera, thanks again for paying." He said now looking at the girl from his position next to her, his eyes carrying a happy, cocky look to them as he stared at her. "Money doesn't exactly grow on kneecaps, y'know?" He said now joking at his terrible pun, which was technically inaccurate seeing as he had done Assassin and Mercenary work in the past, which often did involve capping people for money.

Aww, no blush this time? Sera thought, feeling a little disappointed that petting Fionn on the stomach didn't work out like she had hoped. Man that sucked, she really wanted to see him blush again. Oh well, she would get his face to turn red again soon enough. First they needed to get the whole food thing out of the way. Now that they were here Sera finally noticed how hungry she was. Seraphina always ended up having a bit of an appetite whenever she used her fire powers. She didn't know why that was, but it was something that happened since she first realized that she had them. Maybe it was her body's way of refuelling the energy it used to do all her fancy flame tricks. Though the girl didn't use that much power in that little scuffle it was enough that she needed a decent size meal. Sera ordered some food, a bit more than her companion did and paid for the two of them. Fionn seemed a little surprised that she did but Sera just ignored it. There was no reason for him to be surprised at all, she had said from the beginning that she would pay for it and she was just being true to her word. At least when she did he didn't say anything.

Once the two grabbed their seats Sera went straight to eating. Sera took a bite out of her sandwich, savioring the taste. “This is pretty good.” she commented before taking another mouthful. This was probably one of the best club sandwiches that she had ever had, she would have to come to this place more often. “You wanna try a piece?” the girl ripped off a piece of the sandwich and held it out for Fionn to take when he thanked her for paying. “No problem, no problem.” the girl smiled at him. “I did say I would pay after all didn't I?” she laughed at his little joke. “No they don't, but money isn't too hard to come by if you know how to get it.” a flash of mischief crossed her eyes as she said that. She would let Fionn figure out what she meant by that. Sera didn't like making a big deal about her profession. Most people didn't feel too comfortable being around a thief but she had a feeling that her companion here wouldn't be one of those people. But she was curious as to what he did for a living. It probably was something dangerous. Only certain groups of people carried guns and used them with as little care as this man did. There was law enforcement, criminals, and bounty hunters to name a few. Fionn didn't strike her as the law enforcer type. If he had been he would not have shot that kid as quickly as he did. No, he was something else entirely, but what? She was tempted to ask but decided against it. It was better to let him tell her at his own pace, if he brought it up on his own she would find out then. If he asked her about her job she would be fine telling him for his info in exchange.

Fionn nodded in agreement as he heard the girls approval for the sandwich, he himself having ordered a similar kind on his last visit to the small restaurant that he was currently consuming a bagel within. "Oh yeah, sure, thanks." He said as he picked up the freshly ripped off piece of the club sandwich with his thumb and index finger, tossing it about a foot into the air before catching it with his now open mouth, making happy chewing sounds as he finished up his bite of the food. "Wow, that is really good." He said now looking back at Seraphina with a happy smile still plastered onto his face. "Here, try some of mine, they really do toast these things to perfection." He asked as he ripped a piece off of the bagel with the same fingers as before, placing it in the pal of his outstretched and open hand, offering it to the girl.

As he waited for her to take it he realized that he really was still uncertain of what to make of the girl, she seemed at least a bit into him on his end, but there seemed to also be something lurking underneath that he could not quite understand yet, though if the girls teasing and attempts to make him blush continued he would most likely figure out her sinister and adorable plot, for the best way to describe Fionn was a combination of Clint Eastwood, Sherlock Holmes, and Scott Pilgrim.

Seeing as this was the case the Sherlock Holmes part of his personality shined through as he noticed the deviant smile on her face at the mention of money and the ease at which she managed to obtain it, he began to wonder now how exactly she did make her money, and what she was doing in an alleyway, alone. "Oh goodness gracious me, someone who does something illegal for a living, I couldn't have guessed." Fionn now thought with a mischievous grin of his own reflecting back to the girl, he was seriously starting to enjoy Sera's personality, and if his theory on her gaining money through less than legal ways proved to be true it would make him like her even more.

"So, what ruffian-esque illegal action do you do for a living, eh?" He asked before chuckling, he loved saying things like this, it made him feel like the badass that his cripplingly awkward and broken brain wanted him to be. And besides, whatever she answered would bring up a great opportunity for more conversation, and he had so far found her to be great at conversation.
