Nepeta's conversations depict a sense of playfulness and innocence. While interacting, she tries to pacify rather than fight back, and she is one of the few who continues to get along with any Seskrit at all, if one could call it such. For the most part, Narissa is passive. She rarely argues with anyone other than her moirail, Korumak, and even then it's out of frustration, not resentment. It should also be noted that Narissa has the ability to take things seriously. She will stop roleplaying or making puns if there's something important that needs to be discussed, and though she can be naive, she can judge the weight of a situation.

History: Back when she was about ten, her and Arg and Mal would always play games, and Gabe would just watch, like this crazy father figure while Cal went off with his wife or something. Her sisters Lili and Araedia were always there too, along with the rest of the Kriotag's. The Kriotag's were this huge close knit family, and after Narissa turned about 17, they all dispersed for a few years, never once making contact again until just recently. This could be for a multitude of reasons.
When Nari was 15, Araedia was already an adult. She was about 85 at the time, but of course she only looked to be in her twenties. Oushaga's didn't really age past that point. Araedia knew of Narissa's love for adventure, and that side of morbidity she chose to keep hidden, but she didn't know everything about it. Araedia just knew Narissa liked to hunt, and figured the girl could hunt something different in this place the older sister was taking Nari. Chernobyl, a nuclear plant in Ukraine that only 20 years earlier had disastrously exploded, killing about 30 people and sending gratuitous amounts of radiation into the atmosphere and poisoning the nearby vicinities, also known as the Chernobyl Disaster. Araedia knew of a few people who had gone there for extreme tourism, and they'd come back perfectly fine. There was no harm in taking her little sister for her 16th birthday, right?
Oh how wrong she was.
Tourism at the time they went was not allowed. The Russian gatekeepers had told them the place was "under construction". Odd. This place was supposed to be abandoned. Having been to this tourist sight before, Araedia and her 10 year old daughter knew their way around a bit. Melody was very smart for a ten year old, too. So Ara simply took Narissa up a different route. They stopped at this strange apartment complex. From the outside it looked just fine, only a little rundown. But it was the insides that were the real thrill. Araedia took Narissa and Melody into the apartments, and it seemed fine. They found a dead animal closely resembling a dog outside one of them, and the three had found some flowers to put on it, giving it a mini burial. They had no idea what could have killed it, or if it was even a dog at all. Either way, it spiked pity from the three females. After Narissa had caught a few foreign birds and forest life, the girls decided it was time to return to the car. It was a car the family had rented, and it was a little run down, but it ran just fine. It was when Araedia tried to start the car that everything went wrong.
"Nari... Did you touch the battery?" Ara said as she pulled the strange looking thing from the car.
"No silly, why would I do that?" The girl giggle in turn, completely oblivious to the dilemma. Araedia was fully aware though. It looked like something had... Chewed the battery. But they were supposed to be completely alone. Melody looked worried in the back seat, though she too was not entirely aware of the issue. Araedia turned around in frustration, looking at the road they'd drove in on. It was a good twelve miles to the nearest checkpoint, and it was starting to get dark. Oh well, the car was big enough for all three females to sleep in, since the tallest one of them was Araedia who was only 5'4". They girls sat on the long seat in the back, the car lights on. Somehow they worked without the battery. Crazy foreign cars.
The trio sat, talking. Ara smiled at the two girls. "Well, no one else will have a story like this. I bet the boys back home will be so jealous," she said perkily. Araedia was always perky. Narissa looked around. It was then the Oushaga heard a noise.
"Sister, KuKu, sh," Narissa always referred to Melody as KuKu. The little girl was amazing at poetry, haikus especially. Sometimes she would say Haiku instead of KuKu, but this was rare. KuKu seemed cuter. And it just sounded more fitting than Melody or Haiku to the sixteen year old. Sitting up, Narissa listened carefully. Howling? Did she hear howling? No this was a weird... Mutated form of howling. It was eerie yet melodious. Araedia only heard it after Nari pointed it out. That was when the girl crawled to the front seat of the car, pulling a hand gun out of the glove compartment. She'd seen the tourist before take one out of his van, so Araedia had a gut feeling this would be there.
Moments later is when the first attack happened.
These horrifying mutant-looking canines jumped up and pounded the car, similar to the one the girls had seen in front of the first building. Except not dead and less decayed. They barked viciously and growled menacingly, they dented the back car bed hatch and they were on the hood, scratching at the glass. Narissa and Melody screamed, while Araedia held the two under her arms, trying her best not to yell out as well. She warned them to stay away from the windows, which obviously wasn't an issue. After a few moments, the dogs gave up and left the girls frozen in terror. It was then that Araedia pulled the girls down to the floor of the car and shut off the light. She sang them a poem to get them to sleep, but their sleep didn't come without effort, and it came in little spurts. Araedia didn't sleep at all that night.
The next morning, Nari was the first one awake. She was freezing and shivering, and a thin layer of frost and fog covered the car windows. Nari thought about everything. She didn't even know if she could use her Oushaga form. She knew she had to have one, she was the product of two Oushaga's, but she just didn't know how to use it. She'd never had to use it. It made Narissa feel helpless without the knowing how.
Araedia woke next, and then Melody. All three of them set out down the road, in search of the next checkpoint. Araedia was in her Oushaga form. Despite her short stature in human form, Araedia was rather tall in her Oushaga form, ranging to about 4'5". The two girls were on her back, and Araedia was jogging down the road. It was then she noticed a pack of wild dogs. These were actual dogs though. Two German Shepard's, a St. Bernard, a Doberman mix, and some sort of large mutt. They were eating some carcass in the middle of the road. So Araedia decided to take a detour. Heading into the tall grass around the road, the girl trudged onward. It was then the radiation meter Narissa was holding went off, drawing attraction to the dogs. At first, Araedia didn't notice. But Melody saw them. The dogs came barreling toward the girls. Araedia turned around to see the commotion. Her eyes widened, and she lurched forward, running at full speed. The dogs were a ways behind, but not far enough for her to deem it safe. Thank God for Oushaga super speed.
Araedia knew right then she shouldn't have taken her eyes off of her route to look at the dogs.
The Oushaga tripped down a slope, tossing the unexpecting Narissa and Melody into oblivion. This river was deep and wide, and there was a rotting wooden bridge that spanned across it, and it had no flow, despite letting out into the even more murky lake. This water was caked with radiation, and the meter Narissa was holding was screeching as it lay in the dirt. Narissa, being in back, had only fallen into the dirt at the bottom of the ledge. Melody had tumbled into the water. Screeching, the girl tried desperately to swim to climb onto the bridge, and Narissa ran to help her, running across the bridge, tripping as some of the wood gave way. She reached her hand out to the girl, and Araedia dove into the water, despite the meat-eating, razor-toothed fish that were tearing away at her daughter. Araedia shoved Melody at Narissa who placed the girl onto the bridge, and Araedia found her own way up. The older girl was bleeding and bitten, but it was nothing compared to Melody. The girl was missi most of her legs, and was bleeding from the chest down, all across her body. As the three were preoccupied, they didn't notice the sudden flow of the river, or the dogs that were making their own way across the bridge.
Araedia forced Narissa across, and stood protectively over her daughter, who was slowly losing consciousness. The dogs lunged at Araedia, but Nari beat them to it. She grabbed Araedia's shoulder, forcing her down onto the bridge beside Melody and clawed the first dog with her claw-gloves, the fingerless gloves the young girl always wore that could sheath nine inch long claws whenever she desired, No one knew how to activate them besides Narissa. The first German Shepard fell into the water, the fish having no problem taking it out as it flowed downstream. The other Shepard and mutt lunged at Narissa though, knocking her off balance, making a break in the bridge. Luckily for Narissa, she forced them off without too many bites, but the sneaky Doberman had attacked Melody. Araedia was doing her best to swipe it off, but the Bernard was on her too. Narissa pushed the Doberman into the river, but it took Melody with it. Araedia snapped the Bernard's neck and watched in horror as her daughter was pulled under the water, one final scream of terror escaping her lips as a pool of blood flowed down the river, the tails of the fish flopping violently.
Araedia went into hysterics.
Narissa wouldn't let Ara jump in after Melody. The young girl knew Melody was gone. The two girls walked on, the radiation meter still screeching.
It was getting dark again, and the two girls didn't want to risk going back toward the van. Nor did they really know the way. So they walked aimlessly on. They didn't realize they were walking toward the reactors, however. It was too foggy to tell. Nightfall brought more nightmares.
They found buildings again. Desperately attempting to get out of the open, they wandered into one. Reactor number four, the reactor that had caused the explosion. The radiation meter screeched suddenly, and Narissa threw it at the wall. Not long after did she hear noises again. There was a latter. Narissa was forced up first, Araedia directly behind. If they could get to the top of this thing, nothing could hurt them up there. Narissa got to the top and rubbed her eyes. Her vision was blurring, and it was getting harder to breathe. She touched her face, and it burned. The feeling of blood covered her fingers. It was then Araedia screamed. She was being torn from the latter. Narissa desperately tried to save her older sister, but she couldn't see. The girl grabbed Ara's hand and pulled, but the forced only ended up pulling herself down too. Narissa looked about. The things pulling her sister dragged Araedia away into the darkness. They looked... Humanoid. But they were as mutated as those demon dogs. It wasn't possible. Mutants formed by radiation just didn't exist. She rubbed her eyes. The mutant people things didn't take Narissa for whatever reason, but Araedia was now gone. Narissa pulled her knees to her face, trying not to cry or make noise. She had no idea where the latter was, or what was attacking Araedia. She could still hear the screams of her sister though.
Burning. It hurt. Narissa opened her eyes, and saw only darkness. Maybe it was because it still night, because she could vaguely see her hand in front of her face despite the blurriness and searing pain. The girl had forgotten completely of the radiation. She tried to walk around. Narissa was never one to be afraid of the dark. She loved it. But not here. This darkness was terrifying. She crashed about, running into walls and knocking things over. Suddenly Narissa heard barking. She ran. She ran the direction the two girls had came, and eventually made it out into the outside world. But she didn't know that. She thought she was still inside the building, the reactor. The mutant dogs got her then.
Help, she screamed. It hurts, she shouted. Gabriel! She cried. No more, she pleaded. The dogs were merciless. They clawed her already burning face and bit chunks out of her skin. But they didn't kill her. They wouldn't. Instead, they seemed to be teasing her. They terrorized and hurt the girl, they barked viciously and growled menacingly. They tore her flesh away and left her to die. The creatures didn't like the daylight, and the sun was starting to rise, so they left Narissa, laying on the ground, dying. She coughed and sputtered, still just outside Reactor 4.
When the young girl regained consciousness, she was in some Ukrainian hospital.
The doctors here had no idea what had happened to the girls. They'd never seen anything like this. Araedia had permanent respiratory issues, and was missing her left ring finger, and she too had bites from the human mutants taken from her, but nothing like what Narissa had. Araedia was more emotionally scarred. Narissa was physically, mentally, and emotionally distressed. Narissa lost sight in her left eye, but not entirely. She could still see shapes and things were blurry and dim beyond relief. Narissa had permanent scars all over her body, and was missing a piece of her lower left thigh. This was why Narissa never wore shorts or dresses that went above her knees. The girls were given free flight back to America, the Ukrainians payed for everything.
Araedia was never the same person again, and Narissa was forever petrified by canines of all sorts, but the two never told anyone their story. The rest of the family never found out what happened to Melody, either. Instead Araedia let it be believed it was the Seskrit's whom had killed her daughter somehow.
