Nickolas Trim was having a hard time as of late focusing on his work. He didn’t know why it was, but whenever he got home he couldn’t seem to be able to stay still long enough to edit and upload all the videos that he had. Perhaps it was because the place was so noisy, noisier than it usually did. Maybe he was just too hyperactive this week to sit down quietly in his room and actually do some damn work. Who knows what was wrong, but one thing was clear…if he wanted to get shit done then he needed to get out of the house. The problem was he didn’t know where he should go? It wasn’t like he had many places that he could go where he would have access to the internet so he could get some work done. He had no place of his own that he could go to for some privacy. He didn’t want to go to the PIDA headquarters, though he was sure that they had internet there. Why should he go to his second place of employment when he didn’t have to go there? That, and driving all the way there was a bitch.
Where else could he possibly go? Spoon thought it over as he paced back and forth in his bedroom. The library had wireless internet that he could use but that was probably no good, the net there always sucked, and they probably blocked off the ability to upload anything even if it was on your own laptop either. Maybe there was some kind of internet café that he could go to? Well, it was worth a shot. So, with his mind made up Spoon grabbed his laptop, charger, and external hard drive, shoved them into his bag, put on his mask, and left the house. It was a beautiful day to be out in town, much like the last time he had gone out for a little walk. It was a shame that he was only out here for business this time; he’d love nothing more than to run around in his underpants again.
It took some time for the young masked man to find a place that he could work in. It wasn’t an internet café but a starbucks. It was perfect! Starbucks had wireless internet that he could use for as long as he wanted with no restrictions. This was it; this would be his place of business for today. Humming happily to himself, Spoon stepped inside the shop, he didn’t notice or care that half the occupants fell silent and stared at him. He just strolled over to the cashier, ordered himself a mocha latte (with a bendy straw), and set off to find a seat. It didn’t take long for the man to find a nice little seat all for himself. He set down his order and started to set up shop. After he plugged his laptop in, he put on his headphones and started getting down to business.

Meena was tired. She had been out all day looking for locations to open her Hookah Lounge. She needed a bit of a break so she decided to head over to Starbucks and get a nice cool drink and relax for a little while before she was to go have dinner with her friend Alessandra. She was dressed rather plainly today. She normally was more dressy and always ready for a photo opp but because she knew she would be doing a fair bit of walking she decided to dress down. She wore a green tank top and her long black hair was pulled back into a loose ponytail and she had on jeans with Gucci sandals and black Gucci sunglasses. She toted her Hermes birkin along with her as well.
She walked into the Starbucks happy to get out of the humid air. She had taken all morning to straighten her hair and the humidity was threatening to ruin it,THAT she would not have. The cool air in Starbucks was truly inviting and she was ready to relax and location shop from her laptop for a while. She walked to the counter and ordered her iced white chocolate mocha and waited for it to be prepared. Strangely no one else was in line with her and the place was PACKED. She silently groaned knowing it would be hard to find a place to sit.
As she stood waiting the guy who took her order kept flirting with her. She smiled politely and answered all of his many questions about where she was from and how old she was and what she was doing there. She was really annoyed because she wasn't really interested in him. many girls may have found him which she wasn't saying he wasn't she just wasn't into him. He seemed a bit boring...besides she was sure he couldn't afford her. She was of noble blood and preferred the finer things in life. If you couldn't do that for her then you were out the door. Although she could afford them herself she wasn't dating anyone who couldn't give her lavish gifts. A Starbucks barrista definitely did not fit the bill.
She thanked him for her drink once it was finally ready and turned to look for somewhere to sit so she could browse through more locations. Unfortunately there was only one spot opened next to a guy who seemed to have taken up an entire corner of the Starbucks. She sighed and made her way over to where he was. She looked at him and said in her Middle East accent filled voice, "I hope you don't mind me sitting here." She smiled at him as she sat down. She sat down and opened her laptop and started the process to connect to Starbucks free wifi. She looked over to the guy again trying to figure what he was doing exactly but she said nothing.

It seemed like getting outside the creature house really was the thing that Spoon needed to get himself focused. For once, when the man sat down and finished getting setup he felt much calmer. Though the coffee shop was buzzing with activity all the background noise was eerily calming, more so than all the buzz of activity back home. It was just the thing he needed to get down to business. And getting down to business was exactly what he did. Spoon opened up his external hard drive, grabbed the footage and started going through the editing process, watching bits and pieces of what he had recorded and planning out where to stop, and what bits and pieces were better off being left out. HE was in the zone now. There was no doubt in his mind that he could finish all of his work by the end of the day. Man, if he could get everything finished today he was so going to celebrate when he got home. Maybe he could persuade the guys to have a movie night! They could just watch some good old classic movies on netfilx till morning. It would be awesome!
Once Spoon got into the zone everything else seemed almost non-existent. He didn’t notice any of the people that were still occasionally eying and whispering about him behind his back, and he certainly didn’t notice the pretty girl that walked into the shop. Not until she came over to his table. “Huh?” Spoon looked away from his computer screen to look up at the very attractive in awe. Damn she’s hot he thought the moment he laid eyes on her. It wasn’t like there weren’t any attractive women living around this town but it was hard for him not to notice how pretty she was. Wait…why was he staring at her? Didn’t she ask him something? Oh right…she wanted to know if she could take a seat. “Yeah you can sit with me.” He said, smiling underneath his mask. He didn’t mind having some company right now. It wasn’t like he owned the place, and she wouldn’t be too distracting.
Nick’s eyes fell back on his computer screen as the woman got settled down into the seat across from him. Spoon took a sip of his latte and paused the part of hi footage that he had been watching. That part seemed like a good place to end the first clip, and he didn’t even need to cut anything out yet. It only took a few clicks here and there for him to start rendering it. Now all he had to do was wait. It was going to take awhile to finish though, which he didn’t feel like spending that time just staring stupidly at his computer screen. Instead he looked back at his unexpected companion. It wouldn’t hurt to talk to the pretty lady to keep himself from getting too bored. “Is this your first time in starbucks?” he asked cheerfully. It wasn’t much but small talk was better than no talk right?

Meena sat seeming to go through HUNDREDS of locations on her computer. It seemed that there were millions here within the city. Who knew that such a small space had so many possible locations? She had to make sure the building spoke to her before she decided to take it. She may have been a witch but honestly...who expected a building to speak to them literally? She would just have to get a great vibe and get good energy off of the building. If she didn't she would continue to the next one. She had got so caught up looking at buildings she barely noticed the guy taking quick glances at her.**Great she thought to herself...Horse face is staring at me...I hope I don't have anything on my face or something.** She sipped on her drink enjoying the coolness of it as she attempted to relaxed in the cramped shop.
As she looked through listings she heard the guy speak to her, she paused for a moment and made sure her face didn't contort into a "wtf expression" when he asked her was this her first time in Starbucks...She smiled a bit...way to start off with small talk. She looked at him and said in her sultry Middle Eastern accent tainted voice, "Um...no it is not..."She sighed a bit and decided to go ahead and close her laptop for the day. She made a mental note to schedule a spa day soon. She would have to call Alessandra who she was sure would be good to go for a day full of shopping and relaxing...Perhaps she can find a few other girls and get them into it as well?
She looked at the guy wondering why he was in a horse mask of all things. People in this town were truly weird. What was wrong with them? Was he not always hot in that thing? She was utterly confused. "So what is this that you are doing?" She was bored so she decided to get up and go and sit on the other side of the table next to him and see what he was so intent on doing. She hoped it was no porn or anything...Hey people are pervs....You never know.
She sat pretty close to him as there really wasn't much choice. The place was so crowded there wasn't much space to move. She was pretty close on him. Hmmmmm...he didn't smell bad...well that was good. She looked at the screen and saw him on the screen. "What is this? Are you like some kind of online personality? You do children's shows?" Meena was still really trying to figure out what the deal was with the mask. It was really strange for her. It wasn't Halloween so what was the cause for it? She was a curious girl and always got her answers.

Spoon could be really awkward at times. It wasn’t just the fact that he normally walked around in a mask whenever he went out in public, but he had moments when he would do something completely unexpected, or said something that was rather stupid. This was just one of those times. But he didn’t seem to be aware that what he had said when he tried to talk to this woman was stupid to her, or would be to anyone else. For all he knew this was her first time here, hell, he had only been to this place once before now. Starbucks was not really his thing; he was more of a chipotle guy. Even then he rarely stayed to eat at that place; it was too hard to eat while wearing a mask. That and he always had other stuff to do so there was little point in chilling at any fast food restaurant for long. Today was different though. He had came to this place because he needed the wifi so he could do his work. Anything else meant little. But now that he was here waiting for his first video to render he couldn’t help but strike a conversation with the woman he was sharing his table with.
He wasn’t even sure why he said anything at all at first. It wasn’t like he and the lady knew each other, for all he knew she had no interest in talking with anyone today. But he couldn’t help it. Spoon was odd but he was friendly by nature. He liked meeting new people and trying to get to know them, especially when it came to pretty girls. He liked pretty girls; they always looked good and even smelled nice. This girl probably smelled nice too. The young man didn’t realize just how far his thoughts had wandered off after he spoke till the woman he was trying to chat with moved over to sit beside him just to see what he was doing. The sudden action caught him off guard but he was quick to recover. The man smiled beneath his mask.
“Making videos.” He answered her first question. Her second question made him smile more. This woman was pretty sharp if she could figure that out so quick, he liked that. “Yeah actually I am.” He replied happily. “I don’t make child videos though. Me and some of my friends play games and put footage of that online for people to see. We do machinima work too. Me and my friends are pretty popular for that, and make a lot doing it too.” It was fun talking about what he did with someone else. He wasn’t doing so to brag, but because he loved his work. It was always fun to talk about things that you liked, and he really liked what he did. “I’m so popular I gotta wear a mask to keep my identity a secret.” It was somewhat true. Though Spoon had never once shown his face on camera like the rest of his friends there was always the chance that someone would recognize his voice and find out what he looked like. That was the last thing that Spoon wanted since he put so much effort in hiding himself. “That and it makes me look sexy~” the man joked.
“The name’s Nick by the way, but everyone calls me Spoon. What’s your name?”
((Sorry if the end bit there is a little off, sh*t happened to break my focus and ruin my mood part way in =_=))

Meena looked at the screen while Spoon spoke to her. She listened in the beginning but soon after she found herself zoning out because she didn't know what any of that meant. She was not a fan of sitting at home and watching videos of someone else playing games or doing anything. She didn't like to bore herself and watching video games was boring for her. She found that she tuned back in once he said they were quite popular. It was strange...she had never heard of them or their particular niche. Perhaps it was a certain group they were appealing to? She didn't fall into that demographic so that was for sure part of the problem. She didn't want to be rude or mean to the guy so she continued to pay attention. He also told her they made a lot of money so maybe it wasn't so bad after all?
She decided it was best to tell him a bit about herself since he was so kind to do so. She said, "Well I am a party promoter. I throw different parties and events around the city. I must say I do extremely well doing this. So much so that I have decided to open my own hookah bar here. I notice the city has none. I think it would add some more to the city. You know it is lacking a bit of life. I can definitely make it better. "
She tossed her hair over her shoulder as it being pulled up in a ponytail made it tickle her neck a bit. She smiled as he introduced himself and said that many called him "Spoon." She looked at him and said,"What a unique nickname....I am Meena...my friends just call me Meena...I am from the United Arab Emirates...are you from around here?"
((Sorry it is so short..I am a bit meh right now...))

It was pretty fun talking about his line of work to someone else Spoon soon discovered after speaking to the nice lady. It was so rare for the subject or ‘what you do for a living’ to come up at all. After all Spoon rarely had the chance to talk to people that he didn’t know. The man spent most of his time with his friends, most of whom did the same thing he did, and those that didn’t already knew what he did. It was nice to talk to someone new, and about something that he liked. What would life have been like if he didn’t pursue his dreams like most of the people in society? Would thought about his career make him sad? Frustrated? Angry? He would never know. Nick never did anything that he didn’t want to do no matter how others viewed him for it. That was just the kind of person he was. Once whatever he was doing stopped being fun or he didn’t like it he would immediately drop it and not turn back.
Fortunately for the lovely lady Spoon didn’t drone on too much about his life, and instead turned the question back to her. It wasn’t polite to just talk about yourself all the time, besides he was genuinely interested in her. If they were going to be talking then he wanted to learn more about the kind of person she was. The woman gave him an interesting answer. “You’re a party promoter? That’s awesome!” he beamed. Spoon just loved parties! That had to be a fun job to have. Every day was literally a party for her! How sweet was that? “You have to invite me to your hookah thing once you get it started!” he demanded. There was no way that he could talk to a party promoter and not get a party invite. “What is a hookah exactly?” the word was new to him, he felt a little stupid for asking the question though. If it was something that was common knowledge then he would look like an idiot.
“It’s nice to meet you Meena.” Nick replied when she gave him her name. “Your name is pretty, it suits you. I like it!” The man wasn’t just saying that to flirt with her. He really did like the sound of her name. He wondered what it meant, he would have to ask her what it meant or at least google it when he had the chance. Before he could ask her what the meaning of her name was Meena asked him how long he had been living here. “Oh yeah.” He replied, “I moved in here a year ago with some of my friends. How long have you been here?”

Meena smiled as the faceless man in the horse mask complimented her. She could tell he was very energetic. He jumped from one question to the next but he seemed genuinely interested in everything he was asking about. It was rather funny to Meena. She smiled to him and said, "Yes I am a party promoter. It is a really awsome job to have. I really make my own schedule and work when I feel to. No one is the boss of me BUT me...So I truly enjoy it." She looked at him and couldn't help but laugh when he said she must invite him to the hookah thing when it opened but he didn't know what it was.
She smiled and said, "Well...hookah where I come from is called shisha. It is a smoking pipe essentially. The tobacco or non tobacco base is warmed over cools and the water makes it into the smoke. It is very popular. I think it will do well here. I am just waiting on final approval from the city. I don't partake in the smoking of the hookah but I know people enjoy it so why not make the world happy?" She chuckled.
"It is very nice to meet you as well Nick. I haven't been here that long maybe three or four months? It is so hard to keep up with time when you're constantly on the move. I know it hasn't been six months though." She couldn't help but blush when he called her name pretty. He also said that it suited her which meant he was calling her pretty as well. She was used to getting complimented but not so early on in the conversation. She couldn't believe it. Was that a small attempt at flirting with her? She tossed her hair over her shoulder and said, "So Nick are all of your friends like you? Do you all do this games thing? Do you all wear masks?"

The more the two talked the more excited Spoon seemed to get. He really was a simple man. It didn't take much to get him excited. Experience anything new, or a simple change in his daily routine always made him feel pumped. Meeting someone new was just one of those things. Meena was more than just a pretty face, she was really interesting. Yes it was a little crazy for him to think that way about someone he only just started talking to, but hey, he was a pretty crazy guy so that wasn't any surprise now was it? When Meena talked a little about what she thought about her line of work he could tell that much like him, she really loved what she did. He couldn;t help but feel proud for her. It was so rare now a days for people to find so much enjoyment in their work an that was sad. But people like him and Meena couldn't accept that. "Yeah, being your own boss is great. You can sleep in all you want, take as much breaks as you want, and no one can yell at you for that." he joked.
When Meena had mentioned her plans to open her own Hookah in New Orlands Spoon had to ask her what it was. The answer she gave sounded nothing like what he thought it was. He had assumed that a Hookah was some type of fancy foreign bar or club, it was some kind of smoking pipe. Well hot damn, he learned something new! "A pipe huh?" he mused. Spoon wasn't much of a smoker. He had tried marijuana once just for shits and giggles. It was an interesting experience but he had never tried it again. But smoking pipes were kind of cool. He had an old fashioned smoking pipe at his place just for decoration. It would be cool to have another one. "Well I could use one of those. I don't really smoke but smoke pipes are amusing." He smiled beneath his mask. "That's pretty sweet of you to try and bring something new to town to make others happy."
Seeing Meena blush when he complimented her just made the man's smile grew. That was just adorable. Girl's were so cute when they acted like that. That was something that he liked about women. There was no guy in the world that would blush when he said something good about them. Eventually Meena told him that she had only been in town for a few months. "So you are new to town huh?" he replied. "Well if you haven't seen the whole town I can show you around sometime." he offered. "It would be fun...if you know what I mean." he said in a deep (in his view) sexy voice, half teasing, half flirting with her.
The topic changed to what his friends did and Spoon immediately jumped back into his happy go lucky tone he used before. "Some of them are and some of them aren't." He replied honestly. "We are an unusual group but we get along well. And yeah, they play games with me. We all went in on this as a group. But I am the only one that wears a mask. The others aren't sexy enough to pull off this look."

Meena sat quietly as Spoon spoke. She smiled to herself saying how he could talk a lot. She wasn't used to that. He was talking like a mile a minute. Meena just smiled at him. "I will make sure you get a really nice. It may make for an interesting center piece or perhaps a great conversation starter?" She chuckled at her witty comment. Flipping her hair over her shoulder she sipped on her drink for a moment before placing it back on the table. She smiled once he mentioned her being sweet for bringing something to the city to make others happy.
Meena had to laugh to herself a bit because dependent on who one asked Meena was a bit of a diva. She was a sweetheart but a diva. She had her ways when she wanted to get something accomplished. Some would say it was this that caused her to be a "diva." She had a mean streak and would verbally rip someones head off if they did something she didn't like. She wouldn't accept anything below perfection. It was in her nature. How could someone so beautiful have such a mean streak? Everyone had to have a flaw right?
Meena looked to him when he mentioned how his friends weren't as sexy as him and she really laughed. The guy was comedy gold. It was good for her to be laughing so much when she was having such a stressful day. She couldn't believe him. He was bit cocky but she found it cute and endearing. She looked at him and said, "Perhaps I can see you without the mask one day then and see how sexy you are for myself." She winked at him and laughed. Looking to him in surprise she couldn't believe this, was he flirting with her?
Indeed he was, well never one to turn down flirtation Meena leaned forward a bit and said seductively, "I think will take you up on that offer indeed...I haven't seen the entire city yet. I haven't seen much of anything to be honest...I know the entertainment district and that is about it. "

((I am so sorry for the delay in my replies, my muse is being a little bitch ><))
Once someone got Spoon talking, they would find a hard time getting the man to stop. The poor guy really couldn’t help himself sometimes, whether it was because of his career that got him into the habit of rambling, or his usual hyperactive nature. But the man could talk a lot once he got started and had a hard time stopping once he started. That of course was only when he realized that he was rambling. Right now sadly he hadn’t noticed it. The way he saw it he was just asking a few questions and making small talk with a pretty lady while he waited for his video to render. He was just killing time right now, and hey, if doing so meant that he had to entertain a pretty lady than he was more than willing to do so! Honestly the more he talked with Meena the more he liked her. It was more than just a physical attraction but he kind of dug her personality. She seemed like a fun and nice person to be around. He wanted to know more about her, he wanted to hang out with her sometime.
Or better yet go on a date with her. Yes, Spoon was doing more than joking with her right now. It never occurred to him that the woman would find it a little creepy having some stranger in a horse mask flirting with her. The way he looked or acted in public never stopped him from turning into a shameless flirt when he saw a pretty face. While Spoon didn’t think he was a womanizing asshat he was a single man, and single guys who were not the shy or loner types chased after women. He did the same too, but he worked a little differently. While Spoon was not above flirting with a woman just because he found her attractive he only became serious about it when he got to know them a little and felt like there was something there worth pursuing. There was something here with Meena that he felt like pursuing. It was kind of crazy since they had only just met, but whatever it was he could feel it so he took a stab at it. It wouldn’t hurt right? And hey, if he was rejected he could just pull it off as a joke. Meena at this point could brush it off as much. If she thought that he was being a creeper for doing so she wouldn’t be talking to him in the first place.
Luckily for him Meena seemed to be just as interested in him as he was in her. She laughed a bit at his advances but returned them. There were no words to describe how pleased he was to see her flirting right back. Having such a cute, interesting girl that was just as bold as he was showing an interest in him was the greatest thing that could happen to him today. “Then it’s a date.” He cooed. “We can go out after you finish up if you want.” He suggested. But wait…shit; didn’t he have work to do? That was right he did. He hadn’t come all the way to starbucks just to hit on pretty women. He had come here to finish the work he had been putting off for a good while. His fans wouldn’t be too pleased with him if he kept delaying updating his channel. Spoon quickly shoved those concerns out of his mind though. They could live one more day without him. He would make sure to lock himself in his room tomorrow if he had to get things done. “Or if not today I can give you my phone number and we can plan out a good time to sight see. We can go out for dinner too. I know some good restaurants that we can go to.”
