The sun shone through the boards on the windows. No one knows he stays here at night, or at least he thought. The sun could only mean one thing; it’s time to go hunt breakfast. He usually had some type of meat and eggs he had stolen from a birds nest, but this morning he was feeling something larger, something like a nice big deer. This morning was nice; not too chilly but there was still that crisp feeling. He opened his sleeper sack and stood up. After rolling up his sack, he put it in a large chest hidden under the floorboards, where he kept all his personal items, and grabbed his clothes for the day. He decided since he wasn’t going into town that day he would just wear his loin cloth and a thin shirt. He didn’t expect it to be too chilly today, so why not. He then walked back over to where he had slept and grabbed his bow and quiver with his arrows in it. He always kept his bow and quiver near him when he slept so he knew he was safe through the night. Cahan stepped outside and took a deep breath in, letting the fresh air fill his lungs. He then went around the back of the old plantation where there was a pond, and proceeded to splash some water on his face and over his head. He didn’t know why, but he had an overwhelming feeling that today was going to be a good day. He had no plans and wanted to just go along with whatever came his way.

L U L U Lulu was watchful and alert, as she patrolled through the underbrush of the forest. This place held some pretty bad memories for the young girl. Time after time, she would run into trouble with humans, or hunters. So why was she here? The poor girl wished to get away from the city of course. The forest wasn’t nearly as bad as the loud, industrial cesspool one would call the city.
Besides, this was the only place where she could be herself. God forbid if she transformed in front of people. All hell would break loose. Here she could trot around as much as she wanted in her dragon skin. A large brutish dragon trudged through the thicket. Her large claws dug into the ground as she trotted along. The beast’s large body weaved through trees like a needle though thread. There was little to no wildlife to be seen of course, she didn’t blame the animals for running and hiding at the sight of her. Lucila’s death dragon form was rather intimidating to those who weren’t used to seeing one. To make things worse she didn’t even look like a female dragon. This was thanks to the death dragon gene, almost all ‘death dragons’ looked large, masculine and intimidating. Lucila’s human form was different however she was rather feminine in appearance-well, at least gained that much from her mother. Large blood red eyes scanned the perimeter. Good, she was alone, or so she thought.
After trotting a little ways she crept upon a small home. The dragon cocked her head in confusion. So someone lived out here? With her wings at her side, Lulu began to trek over to the small home. The creature crept closer. The sight alone sparked curiosity within the young death dragon. Once at the small home she began to sniff around. So many interesting smells littered the place. It seemed that the one living here was gone off somewhere, perfect. A wicked grin stretched the death dragon’s maw. The beast nudged the door with her snout. It couldn’t be locked could it? She then went for the door knob. Lulu grasped the handle with her large mouth and managed to bend it, but not open the door. Damn. Lucila was tempted to switch to her human form; however, she was reluctant to do so. After all in her human form she was a weak as a new born kitten. The beast could only hope the owner wouldn't show up anytime soon.

As the man carelessly splashed water over his face and head to wash up he heard what he thought was rustling around the house. He slouched close to the ground and listened closely. Yes. There it was again. There was definitely something moving around. He kept low to the ground and moved closer to the house. He knew the best place to shoot anything was from a nice, high, vantage point so he scaled the house and scanned around to find where the rustling was coming from. He could see nothing near the back of the home. As he took small, careful, steps towards the front of the house on the roof the shingle creaked. He didn’t like that it made so much sound, but he had to live with it. He took one more step and the shingle came off the roof and the next thing he knew he was sliding down the roof and crashed onto the second story balcony. Cahan knew that he just blew his chance at whatever it was that was making the sound so he figured he would forget about it. As he stood up off of his back he looked at his right hand. It was gashed open on his palm. He knew he had to wash it soon so it wouldn’t get infected. He also knew that this was going to hurt his chances at hunting, being that his right hand is his dominant hand. His feeling of today being a good day was slowly fading away, just like the crispness of the morning. Cahan headed back to the pond to was his hand off. He was quite angered with himself for being so stupid and letting his catch, or what he thought was his catch, get away that he didn’t realize how loud he was splashing the water to clean his hand.

L U L U This little cottage was quite interesting. Needless to say Lulu wouldn’t mind taking refuge out here in the wilderness. Now, If only she could get the door open. The death dragon was rather curious what sort of interesting things lied behind this door. As the large beast was busy with the door knob she didn’t realize that someone was sneaking around on the roof. It wasn’t until she heard the cracking of shingles that she jumped back. The sudden noise caused her to flinch and tear the door knob from the door. “What the hell?” The beast thought as she let the shiny little nob drop onto the ground. After looking around the beast wrote it off as nothing. Maybe it was a bird or something. She turned back to the door and realized it was still closed. “Great, just fucking perfect.” There was a hint of teenage attitude in that deep demonic voice of hers. Lucila was still a hatchling after all, granted a large hatchling. It wasn’t uncommon for a dragon of her age to snap at others. Lucila took a couple of steps back. When she did, her large dragon-like appearance began to wither away. The large death dragon seemed to evaporate, leaving a lone woman in the beast's place.
A frown lit up the pale woman’s face as he looked down at the broken door knob. She knelt down and picked it up. Oh boy, she would have some explaining to do if the owner of this home showed up. The best thing to do was leave before they showed up. Just as she was about to walk away, the scent of fresh blood swept past her sensitive nose. Well this was interesting. There didn’t seem to be a soul around, yet she could smell blood. The female followed the scent to the other side of the home. What she saw caused her to freeze in mid step. She clutched the knob in her hand as her eyes began to widen in fear. The man that was knelling in front of her appeared to be a hunter. Her blood red eyes traveled over the bow and arrow. Lulu swallowed hard. This is where the blood was coming from; maybe this man was the one who was making that noise earlier. That was a possibility. Lulu was reluctant to walk up to him, but her curiosity got the better of her.
Unfortunately, woman wore nothing more than a tank top and a pair of old blue shorts. Lulu didn’t expect to run into company like this. If she had known she would have covered up more. But for now she didn’t seem to care about her appearance, she was more interested in the man. Why was he here in the woods instead of in the city mingling with his own kind? Lulu slowly walked up to this man, she stood behind him and watched what he was doing before she spoke. The woman quickly hid the knob behind her as spoke. "Interesting, I thought I was the only one out here.” Not exactly the best thing to say to someone you just met. Lulu came off as a bit nervous, though she tried her best to hide it.

As Cahan kept splashing the water on his hand, he heard the rustling of the grass once more; this time it was closer than before. It sounded more human than it had before. As the man washed his hand, he listened closely to where the sound was coming from and where it was moving. Interesting He thought to himself. The sound was growing louder and louder as if it was moving towards him. With his free hand he grasped the blade he had hiding on the underside of his quiver’s chest piece. He stopped washing his hand and stared out of the corner of his eye, as if he were waiting to strike.
The sound stopped. It was definitely footsteps he heard. Not a second after the footsteps stopped, a woman’s voice called to him. He turned, fast, and pulled his knife from its sheath. He knew he had reacted on instinct and wasn’t paying attention to whom the voice came from, nor what it had said. Sorry. Just a bit weary out here, you know. You have to always stay on top of your game. The man sheathed his knife and extended his arm towards the woman. The name’s Cahan, but you can call me Ca for short. I didn’t mean to startle you if I did miss. Cahan was always taught to show respect to a woman no matter her age. He bowed his head as he spoke to the woman, as to let her know he means no harm to her.

L U L U Well this was interesting. Lulu watched the strange man as he continued to wash his hands in the lake. As she stood there the stranger’s scent rolled into her nose. He had a strange smell to him, one that she hadn’t smelled before. He didn’t reek of smoke and dust like the city humans. The man had an earthly smell to him. Seeing that he wasn’t from the city Lulu made the mistake of lowering her guard. The dragon didn’t sense any danger so she moved closer, Just to get a better look at him. This was a mistake she quickly regretted. She took a step forward and the strange man whipped out a knife. As soon as the blade caught her eye Lulu recoiled. She jumped back, almost tempted to transform. What was she doing? Lucila was a fool for trying to make contact with a human. Damn her curiosity.
Lulu’s body tensed. She was waiting for him to make a threatening motion. If he did she would transform and tear into him. Surprisingly enough, this man did the opposite. Once he realized who-or what she was he put the knife away. The woman began to calm a bit as he spoke. Apparently, he was sorry for pulling the knife on her. His excuse was good enough. Lulu breathed a sigh of relief. Perhaps he wasn’t as bad as she thought? “You really have me a scare there stranger.” She replied. The woman kept her distance this time. Lucila then cocked an eye brow as the man extended his hand towards her. He then spoke again. So his name was Cahan? They were exchanging names now? Lulu continued to eye his hand. She wasn’t completely sure how this sort of human greeting worked. The dragon was blind to human customs; Her parents never really tighter the basics.
Lucila mustered up some courage as she leaned forward and sniffed at the man’s hand. It was a stupid thing to do, but it was the first thing that came to mind. Lulu was acting on instinct. No normal human would sniff another one’s hand. But hell, what did she know? After she sniffed the man’s hand she backed up and looked him in the eye. Her brow furrowed, she didn’t know what to make of this man. Should she really tell him her real name? What harm would that cause? “My name is Lucila.” She began. Lulu then rolled her eyes like a cocky teen. He was exchanging nicknames why not do it too. “-but you can call me Lulu.” This was strange. Here she was talking to a human instead of eating one. Lulu shook the thought from her head. “So what are you doing out here, all alone?”
