There was something Wey was sure about, and it was one of the only things he was consistently sure about; he loved Rose more than anything. He had spent time away from her, he had left her and his kids, and he regretted missing that time with every fiber of his being. But the cold hard truth was he needed to do that to redefine who he was...for the better, for his family, for his Rose.
While is 'surprise dates' were no longer surprising, he did them all the time. Today, though, he had something superb planned, something he was sure that even Rose could not predict. He was, after all, a surprising character, full of his own weaknesses, shortcomings, secrets, as well as all of his strengths and good qualities. And after this date, there was hardly anything that he could think of to top it.
So, upon returning from a very, very early morning 'refresher,' careful to stay away from dying things so as he didn't go all crazy death-high again, he set out to begin the perfect day. For one, he actually began to cook breakfast. Yes, he cooked it by himself. While he could taste, things were usually different to him. But he had done a general survey of what most people liked, had gathered the ingredients and started to prepare what he thought would be a romantic and amazing breakfast.
Sure, the oatmeal was more fruit than oat, and the homemade orange juice was pulpy, but it had taken him a long time, and a good 'sampling' of everything before he could combine it correctly. He carried it upon a tray laden with rose petals and walked quietly up the stairs to the master bedroom, leaving the poor maids a helluva mess to clean up in the kitchen, despite the simplicity of his meal.
Placing the tray carefully on a side table, he quietly crawled across the bed, wearing nothing but an apron and a smile, and started to kiss his beloved gently until she was awake. It was a reasonably time in the morning; their bedroom curtains were drawn so they could sit together and watch the sunrise over their estate. Good Morning, Rose, he said with a smile as he passed over her tray and proceeded to place a rose in his mouth before stretching out seductively across their mattress.
After their morning was completed (with a steamy relaxing bath that smelled of roses), Wey had another surprise for her; a shopping trip. For whatever reason, people actually liked to go shopping, and even if he was always on edge when he went, he forcibly made himself enjoy to please Rose. So, he pulled out the unlimited credit card with a smile and showed her to her chariot for the day; a limo that was to take them to the most well-renowned places for style and price, where she could shop her heart out.
And after their romantic lunch at a high-class restaurant on the waterfront, where the water sparkled heavenly and the cold of the day couldn't seem to reach them, instead of their pricey limo (which had left to drop off that day's purchases) a carriage awaited them, straight from a fairytale. The tall horses were a pristine white, and their coats were long, the bottom of their feet flaring with trails of their hair. They were beautiful, their long manes had some roses braided into parts of them, creating a flower-crown type of display. The coachman was dressed in a tuxedo, and Wey held his hand out to help his wonderful lady into the carriage, which was open, and, for the cold, Wey generously took Rose's hands in his after placing a lovely scarf around her neck.
The carriage took them around the city, and suddenly, on the way home, all of the trees were lit up with dangling, twinkling lights, guiding their way up the long path down the road and up the driveway to the backyard, where something was very different.
Very different indeed. There was a small canopy set up, with white lacy, see-through fabric hanging delicately across the opening. On the four corners were a few small candles, creating a soft, glowing light upon the whole thing. There were two chairs, and the canopy was open at the top. Aren't the stars beautiful? the shadow cat asked, after guiding her to a cushy chair that was perfect for looking up at the night sky. There was no moon, and their location, without the light penetrating their vision, made it perfect to see the smear of stars across the horizon and the vast openness of the night.
From seemingly no where, the shadow cat procured a very large and expensive bottle of champagne. And while he had been showering her in money, he had always been showering her in affection the whole day. After pouring her a glass (also procured from no where), he entwined his fingers with hers, scooted his chair closer, and kissed her gently.
So, Rose, how was your day?

It was funny for Rose to think about how much time had passed since first meeting Wey. Was it really only just a couple of years ago? It felt like it had been longer than that. But, what with all the two had been through, it was no wonder if felt like so much time had passed. Time felt like it had slowed down for Rose during her pregnancy, and even slower after the kids were born and Wey had skedaddled on out for a few months. Now, since his return, time seemed to be going far too fast, but at least it was enjoyable, especially since both Rose and Wey had done personal checks on themselves and turned their personalities around for the better. And to think, all it took was Wey leaving in the first place. It had been an unbearable, painful experience for her, but, it was worth it, just to have him back again and being a father to the twins.
It was still amusing for Rose to be living in such a grande place. Her childhood home had been nothing compared to this, and the Styler family had been known to have quite a bit of cash stowed away. This place made the Styler home seem like a tiny apartment, and that was saying something. Rose had grown to like it here, even if there was just a bit too much space for her to comprehend. At least there was more than enough room for her and Wey to do as they pleased, so, maybe the extra room was good. Honestly, as cliche as it sounded, she would have been happy living just about anywhere so long as she had Wey and the kids. Well, Arganok as well she supposed, since those two were stuck with each other until the day they died, which wasn't all bad now considering they were actually good friends now. And, he got along with Wey now, which was great. So yes, all in all, things were good, great even.
Since Wey's return, he had been exceedingly prone to doing incredibly spontaneous, over the top things for her. It made Rose wonder why he did these things. To make up for him being gone? Or did his new persona dictate him to be this way? Rose wasn't complaining, because honestly the things he did were endearing and sweet. But, they weren't as much as a surprise as they use to be. Subconsciously, Rose would usually prepare herself for some random surprise Wey had cooked up. Again, it was endearing he still thought of ways to try and surprise and woo her. Sometimes though, Rose felt overly spoiled, and at times it made her a tad uncomfortable. But she would never dare say something to Weylyn on the matter, because she didn't want to hurt his feelings since he genuinely seemed to be trying so hard.
Today though, Rose woke up with a very unusual little surprise. She had been partially awake when she heard Wey enter their bedroom and set down something on the night stand beside the bed. It wasn't until he crawled on the bed towards her before giving her gentle kisses that she woke up fully with a smile that instinctively crept onto her face the moment she heard his voice. "Good morning to you too Wey." Rose replied quietly, kissing him in return. She sat up as Wey was handing her a tray of oatmeal and orange juice on a bed of rose petals. Rose smiled and gave a small giggle. "You shouldn't have Wey...did you make this yourself?" Honestly, she could tell he did, but, it still smelled and looked delicious, so she wasn't complaining. She looked over at him, and her grin widened as she noticed Wey wore nothing but his little apron as he was stretched out across their mattress with a rose in his mouth. "Ooooh look at you my little sexy chef. Are you part of the menu too?" She said with another giggle as she ate her meal, to which she genuinely enjoyed. Of course, as soon as she was done she had set aside the tray and practically pounced on Wey without hesitation. Well, he did make it awfully difficult to resist, plus, he was right there!
Well, the day only progressed from there, and so far, it was going great. The breakfast was great, her bit of eye candy was beyond great (as usual), and the bath was a very nice touch and very relaxing. Now it was on to shopping, to which Rose actually enjoyed. Wey had even went out of his way to order a limo to transport them to where ever they wanted. This excited Rose because she had only been in a limo once, and that for for her senior prom night. Part of the shopping spree was for the kids, because well, she had wandered over into the child's clothes area, and simply couldn't resist the cute clothing that were in Anna and Felkin's sizes. There was shopping for herself too, a bit for Arg, and a bit for Wey too because honestly she couldn't resist picking at least a few things out for him. Poor Wey, he really was patient with her. She knew he didn't particularly enjoy shopping, but rather just tolerated it for her benefit. So, Rose made sure to try and keep shopping down to as short a time as possible for his sake.
Now it was on to lunch, which was absolutely beautiful. Rose found herself constantly distracted by the water, or simply distracted by Wey himself. Which wasn't a surprise honestly. And soon after lunch, Wey had traded in their limo ride from something that came straight out from a Disney movie. Beautiful white horses that were just absolutely mesmerizing. In their manes, Rose had noted the roses entwined in their manes, and knew immediately that this was Wey's handiwork. The horses reminded Rose of the ones straight from the movie Cinderella that she use to watch as a little girl, and she suddenly felt like a little princess with a gorgeous prince at her side. Wey had helped her up into the carriage, making her feel even more so like a princess. He wrapped a pretty scarf around her neck and held her hands during the ride. Rose smiled so brightly, thoroughly enjoying herself. She squeezed Wey's hands lightly and nestled up against him, absorbing his warmth as she watched the city pass by in their ride.
When they arrived home, it seemed to have transformed as night settled in on their property. Lights were lined up along their driveway and dangling from various places. Wey led Rose along to the back yard, where a canopy made of white lace was set up at. There were two chairs sitting beneath the opening on the canopy, and candles were lit, causing the canopy to glow oh so slightly. "They are beautiful. I love the stars." She said a bit wistfully, remembering that the night looked near like this the night she met Wey. All that was missing was the moon. The sky was still beautiful nevertheless.
Rose was guided to one of the cushy chairs and she sat down with a soft sigh. She tilted her head back to observe the stars, feeling just utterly calm, and utterly happy. She hadn't even noticed Wey suddenly materialize a bottle of champagne and a glass. Rose looked down when he had entwined his fingers through hers, which brought yet another soft smile. With her free hand, she took the glass of champagne he offers and took a sip of it, enjoying the satisfying, bubbling taste it offered. When Wey scooted closer to her, he kissed her, and she responded back instantly before nuzzling herself in the crook between his neck and shoulder. Rose looked up at him, still smiling brightly as he asked about her day. "My day was absolutely wonderful. Of course, any day with you is wonderful." Rose murmured, reaching up to give him another little kiss. Cheesy? Oh certainly. Did she care? Nah. "How was yours?" She asked as she took another pleasing sip from her drink. Rose then positioned herself so she could still lean on Wey, but so she could look at the sky too. "It really is pretty out here." She mused aloud as she searched the sky for any constellations.

Wey knew that the money was sometimes unnecessary or overbearing, but to be honest, he loved spoiling his family. He loved knowing that he could provide for them and could show it, but he also knew that they knew that he loved them. He did it because he loved them, because he wanted them to have things and never be in want. Hell, he had already started a (secret) college fund for his children, which could afford them any school in existence, United States or otherwise.
So, when he took Rose on the extravagant and unnecessarily expensive dates and trips, it was only partially to show off, but mostly because he didn't really know how else to make it known that he loved her. Other than saying it and treating her to a dish of SexyWey all the time. He wasn't that good creatively, although with the dates he clearly knew what he was doing, a possible side effect of eating the fear and seeing the memories of too many romanticized teenagers. Either way, he also knew what Rose liked, or at least knew she liked shopping, so he had no dilemma putting up with it when he took her out.
He was watching her closely that day, to be sure she was in high spirits and that it was the right time to do what he wanted to do. Surely, he had won her over after the naked apron stuff, but he cinched it surely with the fancy ass limo and carriage and the extravagant dinner and the ultimate shopping spree. He wondered if spending so much money was also his way of making up for being a giant deserter douche who left his family...
But that day was all leading up to a single moment; and that moment had to be perfect. He sat beside her, thinking on all they had been through, how much he had screwed up, and how she still forgave him despite all of his shortcomings. He breathed on her, nestled against him, with a soft purr in his throat. This day has been amazing. And I love you, he said gently against her hair, placing his glass down and using his fingers to snuff out the candles; shadows enveloped them, and any other light other than the stars. He smiled down at her, somehow having a slight glow to his eyes. He eased himself from under her, and suddenly kneeled in the grass, as if looking for something he dropped.
He turned quickly, a smile on his face, and looked up at the stars. I never would have thought that, on the night I met you, we would end up here. But, now that we have, I need to ask you something, Rose.

Wey was talking with confidence. He had nailed this day, had made everything as perfect as he could, made her feel like the princess she was. A bright candle appeared next to her, and he held out his empty palm. He let his palm be empty for a little while before finally smiling. A shadow engulfed his hand, and where it had once been empty now stood a box, made of fine materials. Slowly, he lifted it up to reveal perhaps the most gorgeous ring anyone could ever want. Rose, will you do me the greatest honor and privilege, and marry me, so that everyone can know that I will love you for ever and ever? In the box was a rose ring. Literally, the ring was in the shape of a rose and covered in tiny little diamonds and a vine that wrapped around the finger. Engraved into the vine band was 'W&R', but perhaps the most stunning part of all was that, in the largest diamond in the center of the rose, there was a small cloud. It's a shadow. So that I'll always be with you, Wey explained, while gently pulling it out of the box and reaching for Rose's hand... ooc: your guess was correct... Honestly, today has got to be one of the best days of her life recently. She greatly enjoyed her little outings with Wey that he organized so seemingly spontaneously. She often wondered where in the hell he got the ideas that he did, but she didn't complain. It was just funny how so much better he was at this than her. It was funny to her how things were now, how different it is compared to even a year ago. So much has changed, so many trials had to be passed but, she was happy now. Genuinely happy. Rose felt she had positively the most wonderful boyfriend, and two very beautiful, very loved children. More permanent additions to the family she adored.
If only Rose knew tonight would be far more surprising than usual. Most date nights ended the same way, which usually meant the two of them sneaking away to their bedroom and finishing their day with a "bang" so to speak. Tonight though, things would be just a bit different, or rather, a whole lot different, and something that would change their lives.
She was content, well, more than content of course, rather she was just...well, happy. It couldn't be any clearer than that. Rose had set down her glass, after having taken another sip of it of course, before snuggling a bit more comfortably against Wey, absorbing his warmth and taking in his scent. She let out a quiet giggle as she heard her love's very familiar, very comforting purr. It was quite literally like having a giant cat around, which amused her a bit. Rose smiled at his words and she looked up at him, beaming. "I love you too Wey, always." She said quietly, looking slightly bewildered as he began snuffing out the few candles that offered them a secondary light source. The stars still provided just the right amount of light, so it mattered very little. Wey was looking down at her now and smiling, which of course made Rose smile in return as she gazed up at those glowing green eyes of his. She loved the color of his eyes, and loved how even now in the dark, they still shone brightly.
Wey had managed to wiggle his way out from Rose, having dropped down to ground and appearing to be looking for something he must had dropped. She watched him, peering a bit over the side, trying to see what in the world he was looking for. He turned quickly around, startling her slightly, with a grin on his face. He looked up at the stars then, and Rose looked up too unconsciously. She listened as he spoke then, allowing a wistful smile to appear on her face as he mentioned the night they first met. Who knew that one night talking and laughing in the graveyard would lead to tonight? It amazed Rose still to think about how that one event changed her life so much. Where would she be now had she not been at the graveyard that night? Certainly not here. At her apartment still perhaps. Maybe still getting in with the wrong crowd, maybe dead, but, it was uncertain to say.
She was brought back to the present when Wey told her he had a question for her. Rose looked back down at him and she tilted her head slightly, feeling a sudden sense of...what? Anticipation maybe? Yes, probably that. Rose quickly looked over to the side as a candle flickered to life before looking back to Wey. Rose was confused at first by her boyfriend's gesture, seeing as he was holding out his palm. She had just raised her hand to touch his, because she had assumed at first he wanted her to grab it, before a shadow engulfed his palm. Rose retracted her hand and let it drop in her lap as she watched the shadow dance on Wey's hand, leaving behind a pretty little box as it vanished. It was all just now starting to register in Rose's mind then; the kneeling, Wey's need to ask a question, the box that now sat on his palm...the very same one he was now opening...
Before her, Rose was looking at perhaps one of the prettiest rings she had ever seen. No, pretty was too subtle a word for it, it was absolutely, perfectly beautiful. She raised her hand to her mouth, muffling a sound that was a mix between a surprised gasp, and a happy sob. Her crimson eyes widened a bit, tears welling up behind them. Rose had heard Wey's question, but for a few moments, she found she had lost the ability to speak, and was trying very hard to not make those sounds one would hear from a girl being proposed to on some romance movie. She looked from him to the ring just as she noticed the little dark cloud that hung over the center diamond nestled within the rose. Wey then explained what the cloud, or shadow, represented, and this did nothing to help staunch the flow of tears that were just about to push out from her eyes.
Finally, Rose gained enough composure to actually do something. She gave a soft nod at first, before nodding with a bit more movement. Rose dropped her hand from her mouth and managed to squeak/sob out, "Y-yes of course I will." She held out her hand for him, allowing him to place the ring on her finger. As soon as the precious ring was on, Rose threw herself at Wey, her arms wrapping around his neck and her face buried within the crook of his shoulder as a mixture of happy crying and laughter shuddered through her body. This, this moment right here was one of her very happiest. She had honestly pictured Wey proposing to her many times, but this was nothing like what she imagined it to be. It was so much better, it was tangible, it was real, and she couldn't be any happier. "I love you so much Wey, I really do." Rose murmured, wishing she could show it just as greatly as Wey could. A little laugh bubbled out of her then as the very thought of marrying Wey came across her head again. "So I'll get to be Mrs. Weylyn Tokalawaya? Sounds perfect to me." Rose said with another giggle before wiping her eyes on the back of her arm as she pulled her head back slightly to look at her now fiance's face.

Wey's life, since Rose had entered it, had turned completely around. He had been afraid of the sun, afraid of light, afraid to live any life but the one his instincts and inner cat told him to. He ran from his fears, decided that nothing was worth changing, and possibly could have wrecked the one he loved most's life, as well has his children's lives. He started out as a nobody, someone who didn't deserve Rose or her love, and turned into someone who could provide and care for his family, someone who faced his fears and took on anything in his path. He was in love and he was bettering himself for it. He walked in the sun, took the light, played with his children during normal hours of the day and actually started to form bonds with people. He would never cheat on Rose again, he would never do anything to intentionally harm her, and her happiness was the fuel for his own.
Since he had been taking Rose on a lot of 'surprise' dates lately, he couldn't say that it was easy to top what he had done before. But usually, his dates weren't for the whole day. This one, he had everything planned out to the tee. He wanted everything to be absolutely perfect, and what other way than to indulge his soon-to-be-wife in any way possible? Even if he hated shopping, he loved to see her enjoying herself. Even if he didn't care about taste, he loved to see her savor food. Even if he didn't understand why limos and carriages were special, he knew they signified romance and importance, and he wanted to make her feel as important and romanticized as possible. He had spent a lot of time working his way through this; he took her on the other dates to prepare himself for this one, to find out what made her happy and what brought that beautiful smile to her face. The breakfast in bed, showering her with roses, the white horses and fairytale-esque carriage ride, the hand holding, and tons of kisses in between, the twinkly lights and the vast open sky filled with twinkly stars, all of it was to lead up to that grand moment.
When she told him she loved him, Wey knew that everything was right. He knew that this relationship was something that he wanted forever, something that made his heart beat and his mind go fuzzy from thinking so much about her. He smiled gently when she reached out, and watched as she retracted. He knew his shadows were a scary unknown, and usually left people all types of confused. Normally, it was like floating in nothing, you felt nothing, which was so odd of a sensation that when it was over, all that could happen was fear. Sometimes people felt cold, other times they felt like they were burning. It didn't matter; because when he saw the register in her eyes, he felt his heart swell in anticipation.
The tears in her eyes were happy; Wey had grown enough in his human form to acknowledge that, and he laughed so happily himself he thought he was going to explode. While he didn't understand the full ordeal of marriage, he understood that it meant she loved him a lot to be able to accept, and that they would be together forever.
He lifted her when she was in his arms. She always felt so perfect when he held her; like she belonged there. And now he knew for sure that she did belong there, and that no one else would ever hold her the way he did. She was his and he was hers and no one could ever break what they had. I love you more than the amount of shadows in the world. I love you, Rose, every single part of you. Wey kissed her, so ecstatic and happy and bursting with pure bliss and joy. Nothing, not even the end of the world, could ruin that moment for him, for he would scoop her up in shadows and take their children as well until it was possible for them to return. I could be Mr. Rose Styler, if that's what you'd prefer,
|
her murmured into her hair gently. His fingers worked their way across her cheeks gently and he licked his thumb, tasting the salt in her joyous tears. I will be here with you forever, Rose. You are mine, I am yours, and if I could give you my soul, you would have it in that ring. [/blockquote]
