It had been a relatively calm evening at work tonight, which wasn't unusual really. Sure, PIDA was always out and about in some way or another, but not all the little groups within the organization were out doing things. Take Cry for example. His group had been fairly busy for the most part, what with the tracking of suspicious supernatural beings and whatnot. If he recalled, Jesse was out now, trying to get information about the hellhound that had escaped his, and Toby's grasp not too long ago. He was sure Nova was out looking for the female shapeshifter, but, he couldn't be for sure. Really, all Cry had done since being recruited into the gamer group was shuffle through files and attempt to point the others into the right direction. He had actually yet to really go out on an investigation himself. Ah well, at least it was cozy at work.
Cry sipped on his cup of coffee, his mouth really being the only thing visible on his face, savor for the soft glimmer of blue beneath the eye holes of his mask. No one has ever seen his face, except for well, his parents and childhood friends he supposed. But since starting up as a gamer on Youtube, he had been one of the few gamers to restrict his face visibility to his viewers, and a few of his fans designed what he looked like as a joke, and Cry actually took a liking to it. He eventually made a mask of the face of the little white blob man that his fans created for him, and wears it around, creating his mysterious illusion. Not even his fellow co-workers have seen his face. It was amusing.
He had been sitting in the lounge, feeling a little sleepy. Cry had been there since three that afternoon doing nothing but paperwork, and it was going on about midnight. About quitting time actually, of course, that wouldn't be happening. He looked up to see one of the agents heading his way with a file in his hand. Ugh, great. Why him? Probably because most of the other guys were either home or off investigating. Lucky him. Cry accepted the file from the agent, sighing a little and quietly thanking him, he cracked open the manilla folder. He scanned through, noting that this was incredibly recent, just a couple hours ago in fact. It had been a brutal attack of some sort, leaving three humans dead and drained of blood. Cry looked through the pictures the police had taken, noting the gruesome gashes on the victim's necks, and the disturbing lack of blood. Vampire attack? That had to be it, seeing as few creatures actually drank blood. And by the looks of these marks, it had been one hungry son of a bitch too.
Well, Cry sure as Hell wasn't going to go off on his own. Sure, the police would still be hanging around, but what did they know about this stuff? This was PIDA territory. With another little sigh, Cry got up from his chair, thinking who would still be here at this time. If anyone in the group was still here, they would be in the kitchen. If they weren't here, that's where they would be.
Cry made his way from the lounge and towards the kitchen, which wasn't all that far off. He peeked inside to find just one person inside at this time. Cry was genuinely surprised to see TB here, sipping on coffee like he was, because surely he thought he would have gone home by now. He frowned a little, almost not wanting to go and bug the new member of the gamer group. But, this needed to be looked at as soon as possible, and again, Cry didn't want to go off alone.
"Hello there TB sir. How the heck are ya?" He said cheerily, grinning from behind his mask. "Say, I know it's a little late, but how would you like to go and investigate this incredibly messed up scene with me?" He said a little humorously, waving the file at him. "It looks like a ton of fun...in a messed up sorta way."

It had been a long day. John Blaine walked down the long empty hallway towards the kitchen in the PIDA building. The man had only just gotten back into the building to get ready to clock in for the day after an interesting, if not a little frustrating first day on the job. Well, his first day doing an investigation that was. It had only been a week since John had joined the agency after being introduced to the place by his best friend and his new found buddies that worked here. Most of his time had been spent here looking through files and trying to learn just what it was that the group had been working on that he was going to assist in. All of this was new to him, and the man felt a little overwhelmed to say the least. It couldn't be helped of course, it wasn't like the whole situation was by any means normal. Only a few weeks ago he was just TB, a popular youtuber that worked int he gaming industry, a father, and a husband working with what he loved most, doing podcasts with the people he was close to, and hanging out with friends.
And now he was Totalbiscuit, gamer by day, secret agent by night. This was a scene straight out of some strange fanfiction (thankfully not a totalcox fanfic XDDD). How the man ended up here he couldn't explain it. If there was anyone to blame for this at all it would be Jesse. If the man didn't make him realize that he had some strange special power, and convinced him to work with him as a PIDA agent then John wouldn't be here today. It wasn't too bad though, at first at least. Agent TB walked into the kitchen and turned on the light. It wasn't very surprising to find the place empty, it was nearly midnight by the time TB came back to the building, all the other agents were either pulling late night shifts, or already went home. The man sighed as he went to go and brew himself a cup of coffee as he thought over what he did today.
His first time doing an investigation and he felt like it went horribly wrong. Well, not exactly horrible wrong than it took an unexpected turn. He and his partner Nova had found who they were looking for in the end. But when they should've taken the suspect in they didn't. Instead of doing what they should've done Nova had taken the shapeshifter girl with him and what did TB do? He said he'd cover for him. What was he thinking? This could only end badly in the end. Sure the girl was harmless now that she was injured but if they were wrong, and the girl was lying to them they'd be in trouble. What made the cover up worse was that he had keep what happened today from the rest of the group. It made him feel guilty having to keep this a secret. but he couldn't say no to his partner. No...he could've dragged them both kicking and screaming if he wanted to but there was a good reason not to.
He just needed a moment to figure out what that reason was... John poured himself some coffee and took a good long sip of it. There was no point in worrying over the events tonight, he had things to do. He needed to wake himself up a little bit first before he left for the rest of the night and head home, do some last minute editing on his uploads for tomorrow, and then go to sleep. It was late but he had a long night ahead of him. And it was about to get even longer. The man was only half way through his cup when Cry came through the door to greet him. "Good evening Cry. Your up late." he said, it looked like he wasn't the only one still in the building at this hour. He had to wonder if this was something that was common for Cry at least. Before he had the chance to ask the other man what he was up to Cry asked for his assistance with something.
"Skip the chance to go home for the day to look at a messed up scene? That sounds delightful." the man said sarcastically. Oh boy, so much for his plans tonight. The man took one final swig of his coffee and put the cup away. "Sure, I'll come with you. There is no one else here to help out anyway so I'm hard pressed to say no aren't I?...just how 'messed' up will this investigation be?"

Really, Cry wished nothing more than to go home. Maybe have a drink when he got home too. But, alas, that was not to be it seems. It was a shock anyone else was even here, TB especially. He almost felt guilty coming up to TB about the case. After all, it was really late. The poor guy was probably busy earlier in the day, seeing as he does a bit more than Cry when it came to his youtubing, quite a bit more. Well, maybe with him helping, they could at least get a good lead on the case and turn in a little early. Maybe.
Cry shuffled through the files again. It's a shame the cops don't have a good grasp on the supernatural. They all just think this was just some sick thing that some very sick people did. "Psssh. You don't want to go home and sleep and stuff right? I mean, come on! This will be fun! We get to be super awesome investigators and stuff. Fun." He said in a humorous tone, but naturally he was being sarcastic.
"Well good sir, this is messed up as in, there are people biting other people's necks and draining them. You know. A typical Friday night." Cry said with a small little grin. "Three dead. All have the same wounds. Bites to the neck and having only a small amount of blood left. Two suspects supposedly, one of them female, and the only one of the two found still at the crime scene. The other ran off they guess." He mumbled the last bit and set down the file by TB. "So! Let's go check this out I guess...though I think I know what we're dealing with already." He said with a shrug, pulling his keys out of his pockets.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cry stared out at the park, watching the flashing lights of the cops and the waving of police lines crossing off the area of the crime scene. They had yet to remove the bodies, which was good. They may very well have someone from PIDA take the bodies rather than the local authorities. The case was basically turned over to them anyways. Cry wandered a bit, spacing out as he crossed over the line. He flashed his badge to one of the detectives before crossing over to one of the bodies that had been draped over with some sort of sheet. Cry crouched down and uncovered the body of a young boy, perhaps no older than thirteen or so. He frowned from beneath his mask and pulled out some gloves. Carefully Cry checked the boy over, looking at his wound. Yup, bite marks. Really nasty ones too. This certainly wasn't a very clean, careful feeding. It was almost desperate, hungry. Whoever did that was either entirely out of their mind, or they just didn't care about how sloppy they were. The poor kid was so pale, he even had a gray tint to his skin. There was definitely a lack of blood, only some splattered near the wound, and that was it.
Cry stood back up, feeling a little sick to his stomach. He made sure to cover the body again before he crossed over to yet another one. God, he hated this part of the job. He really did. He stared at the hidden body, not really wanting to look right then. Instead, Cry just decided to make some notes on a pad he had brought, jotting them down, purposefully stalling himself from looking at the next poor sap.
TB couldn’t help but crack a little smile at Cry’s comment. Well it looked like his masked friend was just as excited about staying up late to look at a murder scene just as much as he was. Of course it wasn’t much of a surprise to hear that. Only a complete moron or someone that was used to going to sleep at odd hours of the day would want to take on a job like this with glee. Like it or not though they had to do it, this was all just the part of the job they had all signed up for and they would just have to suck it up and do it. John listened carefully about the details of the case from his partner as they got ready to leave. Bite wounds on the neck, and very little blood left in the bodies? “Sounds like we are dealing with bloodsucking vampires.” He said absentmindedly. It didn’t take a genius to figure that one out, how many legendary monsters out there sucked blood from the necks of humans? Oh boy this was going to be a fun night indeed. “Maybe we should go grab some garlic and stakes to protect ourselves just in case.” The man joked. Luckily it didn’t sound like they needed to worry about being attacked just yet, first they had to just confirm what happened and identify the vampire responsible before they started chasing it down.
______________________________________________________
By the time the duo arrived on the scene the place was buzzing with activity. The site was swarming with cops, and possibly some other PIDA agents as well (he couldn’t be sure since he still didn’t know most of his colleagues yet.) It wasn’t a surprise to him really; the police were the first to find the bodies, and in order to protect the evidence they had to protect the site till the proper authorities arrived. TB and Cry got out of the car and headed towards the scene. They flashed their badges to the officers before taking a look around. Cry went off to take a look at the bodies first but TB didn’t. Instead the man decided to take a look around the whole crime scene first. It wasn’t like John was going out of his way to avoid seeing the corpses, as unsettling as it would be to see a real dead body for the first time he knew he had to do it and he planned to do so. But investigating was more about eying corpses; he needed to take a look around the crime scene first.
The signs of a struggle were obvious even to someone just as experienced in observation as he was. There were splatters of blood here and there around the scene, it wasn’t much but it was enough to make the man pause. If this was the work of a vampire they were either very inexperienced, were more interesting in harming their prey rather than feeding, or out of control. If the killer wanted to feed why leave such a mess? John carefully walked around the blood to look at the other evidence the police had uncovered. A little ways off the sidewalk he could see foot prints, one at least clearly belonged to a woman, no doubt from one of the victims. But amongst them he noticed something odd, bare footprints. Why would someone be running around without shoes?
The man got up and headed back towards his partner as he moved towards one of the bodies. “Do you mind if I take a look?” he asked Cry before he could lift up the sheet. TB put on some gloves and carefully lifted the sheet off the body to take a look. The man grimaced as he looked at the corpse. What was once a probably very attractive young woman was nothing more than a pasty corpse with its throat viciously ripped open. “Oh dear god.”The man mumbled. Yeah, he was definitely going to have one hell of a sleepless night tonight. Trying his best to keep himself from throwing up he studied the bite mark more closely. The bite mark was definitely not what he had expected to see on the car ride here. In the movies a vampire’s bite always looked like two simple little holes on the neck. This looked a lot more like the kind of mark a lion would leave after ripping out a zebra’s throat. “Judging by the bite wound it’s safe to say that we are dealing with a very hungry vampire.” The man said after awhile. “And I don’t mean normal hungry for vampires; it’s possible that this creature was close to starving himself to death to get at this point. You can see the blood splatters around the rest of the place. I have never met a vampire before but I don’t think that they are so messy when they tried to feed unless they are starving or rabid.”John gently placed the sheet back over the victim before turning to look at his partner. “Have you taken a look at the other bodies yet?”
