SPECIES
Belacquian
Basically from the Golden Compass, but a little different in the sense that they adapt the abilities of their daemons. They have an animal that is basically part of their soul. The animal is always the opposite gender from them, and shares a piece of their soul, and if they are too far away from this animal both the daemon and human will feel immense pain until reunited. They always have telepathic communication with one another, and the daemon is a mirror image of the Belacquian's personality. If the Belacquian's daemon is a horse, the Belacquian will adopt massive endurance, intense running speeds, be quite strong and graceful, and develop a natural intuition. If the Belacquian's daemon can breathe under water, so can the Belacquian. All Belacquian's have the ability to speak to non-daemon animals, and sense the presence of another daemon. The Belacquian and daemon are essentially immortal age wise, but grown old at the rate of a normal human. If the Belacquian dies, the daemon will die, but if the daemon dies, the Belacquian will face immense physical pain, and basically become an entirely different person. A chunk of their literal soul is missing, and therefore they basically become dangerously unstable people. Whatever pain one feels, the other also feels, physically and mentally.
ABILITIES
`Can speak to animals
`Very strong, able to lift very heavy things like its nothing
`Almost unheard or seen unless she wants to be heard or seen
`Can speak mind to mind with Emerson, a leopard and her daemon.
`Graceful and viscous when fighting, but prefers to be cunning and silent
HISTORY
Marilyn was born in Australia, but moved to Ireland when she was six. Her family moved around a lot as her fathers job demanded it. She never made a lot of friends or had very good social skills because they always moved as soon as she made any friends. Her parents were both very distant from her when she was growing up, so Marilyn has never been able to connect with any human being. However, she has and does connect with animals very well. When she turned eight teen, Marilyn went to college and became an animal researcher, studying various kinds of animals and publishing scientific papers that have gained global interest. When studying leopards in Africa, Marilyn quickly became aware of a certain individual, a leopard, who would go by the name Emerson and become her daemon. They are often annoying the hell out of each other and driving each other up the wall, but seeing how they are connected, neither one has much choice. Now, wherever Marilyn goes so does Emerson.
