It was a bright, warm, and quiet sunday afternoon in the park. Windstalker park was the kind of place that you would expect to be a nice and peaceful place. It was the kind of place that innocent children would come to play while their proud parents watched over them, or where couples might come to spend some quiet time together. But today the park was not a place for peace and serenity. Because he was there. The tall dark figure of a terrifying being could be seen walking down the main path of the park, a thick aura of malice and danger lingering on his very being. Garm truly was a terrifying creature. The mere sight of him always made common mortals tremble before him. It was the reason why the park was unusually empty today. Garm didn't intend to frighten everyone away but no matter where the young hellhound went things like this always happened. Those that were not used to his presence would always cower away from him. The moment that Garm came to the park he saw others quickly exit. Parents grabbed their kids and quickly walked away if he happened to walk too close to the playground, everyone else kept their distance as much as they could.
Seeing the mortals scamper away so suddenly was annoying but he chose to chuckle and move on. There was no need for anyone to fear him so. Garm was a powerful hellhound but he didn't pick on the weak. All these foolish mortal humans were beneath him. What fun would he have in destroying them? There was no challenge he would get from trying to fight any of them, no joy he could take in snuffing out their short meaningless lives. He had not come here to bring despair to these small beings. Garm only came here to stretch his legs. Garm the terrible didn't venture far from his home during the day unless he was going shopping, or selling the creatures he bred for a living. But today was such a beautiful that even this dark brooding beast wanted to go out for a walk. So he got dressed, picked up his trusted minions and took a stroll through the city until he found the park.
All he wanted was to enjoy the day with his minions. But the mortals constant looks of terror were starting to put him in a foul mood. He needed to get away from the crowds to somewhere more private. Garm strayed from the main path to a more secluded place in the park. His journey eventually led him into a small woodsy area. He couldn't have found a better place to hide away from the annoying mortals. It was quiet and secluded. After a bit of wandering Garm found a nice area to relax in. The beast looked around him to make sure he truly was alone before sitting down on the soft ground. “Vishnu, Shiva, Kali, Indra. Come.” At the sound of their names the hound's hamsters came out of their hiding places to stand before him. “You are allowed to roam around if you wish until I summon you again. Do not go far, there might be dangerous creatures hiding here.” Garm watched as his deva's scurried off to check out their new surroundings before he laid down to soak in the sun's rays. Finally he was at peace.

Alex had found that walking through the park, especially during a nice day like this, was very therapeutic for the mind and soul. There were small families here and there. Children running about and dogs playing with their owners. Despite this Alex couldn't help but feel that something was amiss. Odd. She had felt it the moment she walked into the park. A familiar presence like that of a demon but not. It baffled Alex but she did not want to act right away, rather she wanted to find where it was coming from so she kept walking along the smooth path, enjoying the sun and the perfectly cut green grass. Even then though, Alex kept an eye out and it was thanks to this that she noticed some people passing by with a wary look on their face. She increased her speed a bit, the pink heeled sandals on feet smacking against the ground at a faster rate now. Alex's speed was only impeded when a child ran out in front of her but that barely messed with her rhythm. She simply just stepped around the frozen child and offered a sweet smile before moving on ahead and she went on she could hear a few individuals murmuring about a dangerous looking man up ahead. " Dangerous? " she whispered quietly before giving off a soothing aura for the benefits of the wary people she passed. Humans can be such fearful beings. she lamented as she followed her sense to a path going off of the main walk. Alex tapped sole of her pink laced heels in contemplation before final deciding to follow it further. If something happened to the humans in this park because she passed this up Alex would be devastated. Alex turned in on the off shooting path and followed it through the trees. The world around her had taken on a much more peaceful feel then the more open and populated portion of the park. Probably because there weren't kids running around and screaming. As the angel moved through the green lined path she occasional brushed the stray leaf off of her white dress and sometimes had to stop to brush the wondering bug off of her long legs. That was one of the things that bothered the angel ever since she had decided to stay here. Bugs. The annoying pests were everywhere. It made Alex regret wearing a mid thigh length dress. Sometimes she thought she felt a spider or something crawling up her arm but it was just her bell sleeves tickling her skin. Alex stopped and flicked a green bug off of her before moving forward only to stop after a while when a small rodent came jetting out of the bushes. Alex stopped and blinked as the small rodent darted under the cover of a bush, then noticed that the presence was now stronger then before. Alex was getting close so she moved on while raising her guard. If this presence was a demon then she be ready with her magic and a glaive infused with holy magic. The feeling grew stronger and stronger until she arrived at a clearing and loe and behold. Laying in the clearing was a man, the source of the mixed signal. He felt like a demon, in fact he seemed like a hell hound but then why did he feel human as well? "Beast." was all Alex said as she frowned at him. Garm

Garm was finally at peace. Coming all the way out in the secluded woods had been the best decision he could have made today. It was far away from the human park goers where he didn't need to worry about any pesky intruders, and they wouldn't have to feel concerned for their safety in his presence. He had felt comfortable enough to rest and let his minions roam free for a little while. Once the devas departed Garm rested his head on his arms and closed his eyes. He did not sleep though. As relaxing as this place was he did not want to let his guard down completely in such a place. New Orlands was still unfamiliar ground to him. There was no telling what kinds of monsters laid in wait for unguarded fools. He had already ran into some of his own kind not too long ago while exploring new territory. The enocounter had been...and interesting affair, one that had thankfully not led to bloodshed. But Hellhounds weren't the only thing that might live in the city. Who knows, the pack he had ran into might not be the only pack that claimed the city for themselves. He had to be on guard for anything.
Though the man's eyes were closed he listened carefully to his surroundings. The hound's keen ears picked up on the activity around him. He could hear his loyal minions running around. A thin smile graced his lips as he listened to the devas. But soon there was a new sound that joined them. Footsteps. There was something much bigger than hamsters roaming around in his part of the park. Garm frowned but he didn't think too much of them yet. They sounded like the steps of a human. There was probably a lone human that happened to take a stroll through this area too. The fool would eventually go away once it sensed his presence, that was what they all did until they got used to his aura. He wasn't too worried.
At the sounds of the intruder he heard the quick shuffling of one of his devas scurring towards him. He felt the little creature jump on his chest and start squeaking. Even with his eyes closed he could recognize Indra's squeaking right away. Garm sat up and scooped the tiny little hamster in his hands, gently stroking her to help her calm down. Though Indra was powerful enough to be apart of his four dark devas of destruction she was the shy when it came to dealing with anyone that weren't one of her siblings or her master. She must've have been the one to spot the intruder and came running to the nearest source of comfort. “Steady now.” Garm cooed. “Go gather the others but stay out of sight for now. I will deal with this.” He released Indra and watched her disappear into the brush when he heard the intruder speak.
A dark chuckle rose the male as he stood up to face the speaker. “So you know what I am. Then you must know how dangerous it is to cross paths with something like me.” Garm looked the strange woman over. At a glance she was very beautiful, almost unnaturally so. But there was something about her that made his skin crawl. Both her aura and scent brought both a sense of anger and worry within him and he didn't know why. The beast within him was wrestling with the desire to rip her pretty flesh apart or run. Both feelings he chose to ignore though. Garm was a hellhound but he wasn't a slave to his instincts. He wanted to know what he was dealing with first before he did anything. “If you know what is good for you, you will leave this place. I am merciful with those that are not my enemy. It would be a shame to bathe this quiet place in blood today.”

As the seconds passed Alex found herself growing more and more interested in the demon before. Never before had she sensed the energy of a demon and human in one person. Alex would be lying to herself if she thought it wasn't intriguing but at the same time she thought that the human involved must have been insane. To mate with a beast that could rip your throat out was senseless to say the least. This only made Alex all the more confused about humans but what else would she come to expect from such beings lacking in knowledge of their own galaxy let alone the universe at large? The angel pushed away her building thoughts and mentally prepared herself to either throw up a shield or call upon her weapon. She'd met many a demon that would use a moment like this to get in a sneak attack and the way this guy was acting with his little pets was something Alex hadn't expected which could used to get in one if she wasn't careful. Alex's eyes moved along with the demon as he rose, his laugh making her lift a defiant brow. It would take more then a dark laugh to get to this angel but as she continued to watch him Alex couldn't help but feel like she should at least have a few feathers handy for paralysis. When he started speaking again she crossed her arms over her white dress and listened. She'd heard the bluff of many tough guys here on Earth and so when his words came out she found them familiar, plus she had been in more then her fair share of fights so she wouldn't let tough words scare her. Instead Alex unfolded her arms and placed her hands on her hips, forming a silent 'O' with her lips. " Yes, you're very dangerous. To a human. " Alex responded calmly " I've put down many of your kind before beast so you don't have to worry about me. "In truth, Alex did not want to leave, at least not yet. She wanted to find out more about this man so she decided to lower her instinct to purge. " Yes " Alex replied glancing around at the lush plants around them " it would be a shame to coat such fine greenery in blood. " her brown eyes landed back on the odd demon man " Plus I'm intrigued by you. Such an interesting specimen. So perhaps I shall hold off on driving my glaive through your heart. " she smiled as she tapped her right index finger on her hips. " I must admit, you're the first demon I haven't killed on the spot. "

What was this woman before him? He did not know. Garm was a mighty beast but he wasn't an all knowing one. He was well aware that he was new to things that didn't revolve around the human world he had grown up in, and ordinary animals. For the longest time he didn't even know that he was a hellhound. He had always known deep down in his heart that he was different from those foolish mortals. He had always had a menacing aura that surrounded him, and he was able to communicate with animals in a way that was more than just simply understanding their nature. But he never knew what he was until his true powers awoke. His awakening had been...sudden. It might not have even happened at all if that wretched demon hadn't come into his life and slay his mother. He wasn't sure if his dear mother knew what he really was. His father had never been around as far as he could remember and his mother never talked about him. She had refused adamantly any time he had asked about the man that never was around. He could only guess at his father's true nature since he knew that his mother, though she was amazing, was still a mortal.
There was still so much that he didn't know about the world around him. He didn't know what kinds of creatures in the world were friends or foes. All he knew was what he had learned from experience so far. Right now the only creatures he considered enemies on sight were demons. Garm was well aware that he was a form of demon himself, but just because he was a demon by birth didn't make any other demon that was not a hellhound an enemy. Other demons saw hellhounds as tools to use as they saw fit. They were regarded as inferior. After his encounter with a demon Garm had set out to prove them wrong. He would defeat every demon he came across until he made them bend the knee. This woman wasn't a demon though. There was something in her scent and aura that screamed at him that she was a threat but that wasn't because of any traces of demonic energy.
No...she was something else. As ignorant as he still was Garm was no fool. If she was no demon, but his instincts were telling him she was a threat to him that could only mean one thing. This woman was an angel. That or some form of holy creature. That was the most logical conclusion. The realization almost made him roar with laughter but he held back. What a bizarre twist of fate befell these two souls. An angel and demon, natural enemies meeting in such a peaceful place. Would their very natures cause them to clash...or would they be able to get past their differences? Garm did not know what he would do with this angel in the end. His instincts were screaming at him to do something but yet he stayed still. Garm was no mere hell beast who was a slave to his in born instinct. He was greater than that and he aimed to prove it.
The mighty beast chuckled at the woman's response to his warning. “Those foolish mortals tremble at the sight of me its true. Perhaps they understand the full power that resides within me? In terms of strength I am a threat to their pathetic lives, but that does not mean I wish to take them. What good would it bring to pick on something so weak and helpless? Only cowards and fools pick on those too feeble to protect themselves. A true warrior challenges those strong enough to fight back...but you already know that don't you?” Ah yes, Garm could tell this woman was special the moment he saw her. Though in the human world women were relatively weaker than their male counterparts, females from different species weren't always weak. Whenever he dealt with female supernaturals he treated them with caution. He felt a little guilty for being too harsh with the opposite sex but he wouldn't let that guilt make him underestimate their might.
This woman was a born killer. She had said so herself that she had brought down those of his kind before. She looked at him like a warrior that was not afraid of death. The way she looked at him now he knew that she thought he would be little different from the others she had slaughtered. Oh how wrong she was. The angel woman's threats were nothing to the likes of him, but his minions didn't take them as well as he did. While Garm was able to laugh her threats off the Four devas, who gathered together to see this new threat squeaked angrily at the woman's threats towards their master. Instinctively the beast stepped between his minions and this woman. She seemed focused on him and while he was fine with her threatening his life he would not put it past her to attack them just to get the upper hand. “Intrigued are you? I can not blame you for that.” Garm spoke to divert her attention away from his minions. “You stand before a soon to be legend among all other hell beast. The one hellhound that will make all other demons bow down to my will. You may call me Garm...I have a good idea of what matter of creature you are woman. You do not wreak of darkness like a lowly demon, or any other being I have seen. Its easy to tell what you are, but I wonder if you might be more unique than the rest of your kind. What are you, and what do you call yourself?”

My, aren't we the boaster, Alex remarked in her head. Throughout his speech Alex could not stop a smile from coming into her glossed lips. She wasn't one of those cold, emotionless angels that she'd fought beside on the battlefield so amusing things came more easily to her. One of her generals had once told her that in order for the enemy to take you seriously you had radiate seriousness. Go for the kill immediately to let them know you meant business. No friendly banter with demons even if you were going to kill them seconds later. Personally Alex did not see the point of going into battle all the time with a stick up one's ass but it worked for them so she found her own way. Alex saw nothing wrong with giving them a smile before she razed them into nothingness with angelic fire. As he continued on with his speech Alex took the opportunity to lean back against a tree behind her. Thankfully the bark was smooth and completely missing in bare areas so Alex didn't have to deal with dry bark sticking her in the back. Her body relaxed a bit more and a voice went off inside, wondering why she was slowly letting her guard down with this demon. Maybe it was because he was a hybrid? Her eyes studied him. No. It was something else. When he'd finally finished talking Alex tilted her head a little to the left. " My turn huh? " she kept her glossy smile on. Alex briefly let her gaze catch one of the little rodents from before peer from under a bush then she blinked and went back to the hybrid demon. " I'm just an angel. " she opened up her arms and shrugged " You're right about me being unique. Most of my kind stick with what they were made to be. I challenged that and here I am. " she refolded her arms " That's all I'll say for now. My name is Alexandria by the way. " she winked at the hybrid hound. The angel replayed his words and then had a realization. This hybrid's words resonated with her a lot. Alex knew what it was like to have to prove herself to those above her. When they had found out that she was nothing but an archivist, many commanders and generals turned her away. Told her to go back to the libraries where her skills could be of actual use to someone. They refused to believe that she could be useful to them as a warrior. Luckily there was one who was willing to take her in and even though Alex received flak for her background she did not care. She was preparing herself to better help good reign. To help bring order to the chaos. " Mr. Garm? Just exactly how much do you think you can accomplish, being who you are? " she narrowed her eyes at him in scrutiny " Obviously you are a hybrid with human blood. What do you think a half breed such as you can do against a full blooded demon such as say, Baal? " Alex further clarified. Garm

There was a chance that today would not be the peaceful and quiet day that Garm had hoped for. The mighty hellhound was confident in his strength but for all the confidence he exuded, his potential opponent seemed just as confident. There could only be two reasons for this, either she was vastly under estimating his strength, or she was very powerful herself. It was a little hard to tell at first. This strange woman's body language had become more relaxed as time went on. Once he told her how he had no interest in harming any of the humans in the area she acted less hostile towards him. So she was worried about the humans safety? She really must be an angel then. Most of the supernaturals that Garm had came across in his travels rarely took this much concern in the safety of the humans that lived around them. Not all of them were openly hostile towards them, but they saw them for what they were. Weak, easily frightened, and self centered creatures that couldn't give a damn for anything they viewed as different than them.
An angel though might see things differently. Even if they did see mankind for what it was their base instinct was more likely to compel them to go out of their way to endanger themselves at the slight hint of danger to humans. In that sense it wasn't any surprise why this woman came out seeking him. To an angel, a hellhound was a serious threat. Powerful creatures like him could easily slaughter every human being in this place with little effort. She might not be wrong in that assumption. There were always those mindless fools that loved to pick on the weak. But Garm wasn't like that. Garm was different. He had always been different from anyone else. First it was with humans but even as a hellhound he didn't quite fit the mold he was born into.
He was painfully aware of this fact but instead of trying to change himself to fit in somewhere he chose to break the mold. He told this woman that much when she started to inquire about him. For as long as Garm lived he decided he would never be afraid to speak the truth about his goals in life. Everyone had dreams, but so few dreams ever came true because the people that held them rarely fought to make them true. He would not standby and let his dreams simply remain dreams. He would make his dreams come true. Others might laugh or tell him it couldn't be done but he didn't give a damn what they thought. That was what made him so unique. He couldn't help but wonder if this female was the same.
It was probably a little strange for him to be thinking these thoughts about someone who might try to kill him in a few moments, but Garm was curious about this woman. This was the first angel that he had ever seen before. He was sure that any angel he might come across might try to kill him. He wasn't worried about that threat of course but the fact she had not tried to kill him the moment they met was surprising. Could she be like him? Did she have enough sense in her to not just blindly follow her kind's instincts and was seeking more from life as well? He didn't hesitate to ask her this. Garm gave her a quick nod, giving the woman permission to speak freely now that he had finished. The hellhound's assumption of her species was right, she was an angel. She wasn't an archangel, or something more serious than that. According to what she said she was 'Just an angel'. But like him she wanted more from life than what she was created to do. Now Garm was starting to understand her a little better, and he even had a name to put to her face.
“Alexandria. A beautiful name, and one that hints at an intelligent mind behind it. It suits you well.” Garm was not over exaggerating, or lying when he said this. While he had been talking with Alexandria he had been studying her closely. He saw more than just some confident woman. He could see the intelligence that sparked in her eyes. She was beautiful in a sense too...Not like he was attracted to her or anything like that. Garm was well beyond such base desires that he would want to do anything with anyone. He just...wasn't blind. When Alexandria spoke to him again she asked him what he thought he could do when he was only a halfbreed. The male's gaze darken a bit, looking less amused than he had been before but he didn't scold her for this. Garm folded his arms across his chest and thought carefully on what he would say to this.
“I will do it by becoming stronger. Its as simple as that.” he replied flatly. “As much as I detest saying it I will not deny the truth. I do have human blood in my veins but there is nothing human about me. Mankind has always rejected me. I am shunned, feared, and have been persecuted by those weak feeble creatures that I share blood ties with. Even before I truly awoke I felt no connection with them. That part of me has yet to slow me down. Maybe its because the woman who bore me was more than a weak mortal, or I share so little in common with them but I was strong enough to slay the demon who tried to use me for their personal gain. My biggest regret was not being strong enough to save my mortal mother in the process. But if I work hard enough I will be able to reach that goal. That is what life is all about isn't it? Not all of us are born strong, but if the weak struggle enough they too can become strong. If the limitations of one's birth could not be overcome then why would you bother to challenge the way your own people do things?”

Alex found herself leaning against the tree with nothing to say for a few seconds. The angel was speechless but not because Garm's word put any sort of fear or apprehension in her. No, it was because what he said resonated with her so much. As angel she was taught that demons were scum and no angel could ever relate to them but here Alex was, almost completely relating to a hybrid demon. His speech caused a smile to once again melt her lips and even though her inner instincts were yelling at her, telling Alex that it wasn't wise for her to be getting so lax around a demon spawn, Alex pushed it away. Alex pursed her lips as if in thought, looking away for a few seconds then back to Garm " You know, I never thought that my day would involve conversating with a demon, let alone not killing one. " she gave him a genuine smile. Alex pushed herself off of the tree as the sound of quick movement came through the bushes nearby. A large boxer bounded out and began barking excitedly at Garm though Alex knew he was smelling the little animals from before. The hound sniffed, turning his head from Alex to Garm before taking a few steps forward. Alex shook her head. " Where's your master? " she asked the giant dog, gently drawing it over to her. It was easy to sooth and calm such a simple animal, being domesticated really helped to. Alex took hold of it's collar and looked around. A few seconds later she sensed a human moving toward them so she held the dog in place until a man in shorts came into view. " Sorry, sorry. "the man grinned up at Alex to which she warmly smiled back as she handed him his dog. The man continued to grin at Alex as he leashed the dog then he seemed to notice Garm and suddenly looked embarrassed. " Sorry if I interrupted anything. " he chuckled before leading his dog back toward where they came. As Alex watched the human disappear she thought to Garm's mention of his mother. It was very unfortunate but of course it ended up that way for his mother, however Alex dared not say that out loud. " Humans are, weak. " she said while still looking off in the direction of the man " They are so ignorant of the world around them and incredibly closed minded. " she then looked to Garm and a light of sympathy shone in her brown eyes " But they're also creative. " Alex then wagged a finger at Garm " Don't underestimate them. " Garm

“And I never thought I would be spending my day conversing peacefully with an angel.” A genuine smiled graced the young hound's face as he spoke. This whole situation genuinely surprised him. In the back of the mighty hound's mind he knew that some day would come when he might meet an angel. While it was always hard to find other supernatural beings the world was a big place. He knew deep down that the more he traveled the more likely he was to run into things like Alexandria. But he didn't know what he would do when he finally met one face to face. There had always been a conflict in him when it came to this issue. It was only natural that he'd see them as his enemy. Angels were beings of light while he was born from darkness. But he had no ill will towards those creatures. They might try to slay him but that was only because they saw his kind as a threat. If he showed that he wasn't would he be able to make peace with them?
The answer surprisingly was a yes. Maybe it was just because Alexandria was a lot like him. She was a unique angel who did things because she wanted to, not because she was told to or it was in her nature to do so. The next angel he would encounter might not react the same way. But she gave him hope, and hope was a powerful thing. It certainly was enough for him to lower his guard. No one would ever know how big of a deal it was for someone like him to lower his guard with someone so dangerous. Garm was not the kind of beast to fear anything. Garm knew no fear besides the kind that he instilled in others. But he wasn't reckless. When he met anyone or anything that might be a threat he was always careful around them. He showed weakness, mainly because he had very little weaknesses, but partly so he couldn't give his enemies the chance to take advantage of them. He was strong but he wasn't invincible, if given the chance an angel could still kill him. Alexandria had earned his trust enough that he was sure he wouldn't have to worry about her stabbing him in the back later.
As the two were talking Garm's sensitive ears caught the sound of a four legged beast bounding towards them before the telltale squeak of Indra alerted them of its presence. “It looks like we have company.” Garm turned his sights to a large boxer that came over to the pair. He gave the other beast a big smile as he crouched down to stroke its head while it investigated him. “Hello there buddy. What are you doing out here by yourself?” The dog didn't need to say much for Garm to understand why it was here. The beast within him was close enough to dogs that he had always been able to pick up on their thoughts in a way that he could never pick up any other animals. The dog before him had his thoughts on some interesting smells nearby that he wanted to investigate. Now that he was here he found a whole host of new smells that intrigued him. The dog barked excitedly, his tail wagging vigorously at the strange dog man before him till Alexandria caught his attention.
Garm watched the angel interact with the other canine. The way she handled the dog made him wonder if all angels were not just kind to humans. “He doesn't smell like a stray, if I had to guess his master should not be far away.” Just as he thought, the dog's owner showed up not long after. The human came up to pick up his dog and apologized to Alexandria for running into her, but the second that he laid eyes on Garm his friendly vibe disappeared. Garm said nothing during this exchange. He knew all too well what was going through the human's mind by now to know that nothing he could say would change anything. Garm stood back up and watched the human run off with his dog when Alexandria spoke up again.
“I know. There is not a creature in the world that does not have its use. As much as humans claim to be the above animals they are no different from them. I might never encounter another human that will see me as anything more than a monster, but I know that one out there exists. For the rest of them though...they have their faults. But if creatures like that dog can live happily with them they are not all that bad.”

One thing that always stirred the angel's curiosity while on Earth was why the humans were the way they were. They were a most interesting species to Alex because they were so odd. Having only read about Man in a few old tomes in the great libraries of Heaven she was quite shocked when she actually interacted with them. While Alex did not expect them to be of a general persona she certainly did not expect the wide variety of personalities they possessed. Her first interaction with a human was not her favorite, in fact it was very negative. Of course Alex had only the most sincere intent when she tried to help them with their injury so she couldn't have guested why they'd reacted the way they did and till this day an answer still could not be found. Over the years Alex had observed them to a massive conflict. One moment they wanted peace but the next they were warring like it was the only option. At times she felt the humans to have more in common with demons. Both chaotic and violent but then she remembered the former paled in comparison to the latter. No matter how rude the humans were to those who were just trying to help they themselves still needed assistance. " Indeed. Humans have a wonderful capacity for good when they want to be good. " the angel responded warmly. I just wish they'd exercise it way more then they already do.Somewhere off in the distance a child screamed out followed by pained wailing. From what Alex could sense the child was not in any major pain. Probably just a skinned knee. Alex tilted her head back against the smooth trunk of the tree before a leaf fell onto her face. Alarm rose in her as she felt something crawl down her face. In one swift movement Alex brought her head forward and brushed whatever it was off of her face. She ran a well manicured hand through her curly ebony hair as she looked down. Crawling near her foot was a medium sized spider. White with gold legs and absolutely terrifying to Alex. Call her illy but the angel despised the things. Creepy, crawly insects with strange looking legs that resembled inward bent sticks attached to an even stranger body. Alex was visibly startled as she moved away from the tree, brushing off her white dress. " Horrible. " she muttered while she stared at the spot where the white spider used to be. Wherever it had went Alex hoped she wouldn't run into it again. " Why can't they be adorable and endearing like those little rodents? " she glanced at the fuzzy creatures that belonged to Garm. Garm

Respecting humans. That was a hard concept for Garm to embrace fully like Alexandria had done. He would not deny that he had the blood of those beings flowing through his veins. But he had a hard time calling them his kin. For most of his life Garm had been treated poorly by human beings. He had been feared, mocked, and attacked on more than one occasion as a child. From the young to the old all humans treated him like vermin. All because he was different. The only thing that truly amazed him about mankind at all was their capacity for cruelty when it came to those that were classified as 'other'. It was not uncommon for humans to put their own kind under different groups and unit against whatever appeared to be the smaller group. Whether race, religion, politics, gender, nationalism, or any other mundane and insignificant difference they always had to make enemies with someone.
The only hope he had in humanity had been with his mother. Garm's mother truly was an extraordinary woman. She could see beyond the terrible aura that surrounded him and love the person he was. For a human she had shown so much strength, both emotionally and physically. Perhaps that was why his father had chosen her to bear him. Though she had attracted the attention of a demon she was a saint among humans. That saint was now dead. Maybe there was some other humans out there in the world that were similar to her bur he doubted that he would ever find them. The most he could do was not let their evil get to him. Humans were capable of enough cruelty to rival a demon, but most were harmless. Stupid, judgemental, and cruel, but still harmless. He would not kill them. He was above murdering the weak. Even if it ever crossed his mind to kill a human the thought of his mother would stop him. What would she think if she saw him doing such terrible things? She had raised him to value the lives of those weaker than his and that lesson stuck with him even when he was being abused by them.
“They are good when they want to be. It's a shame that most of them choose not to.” Garm replied. “It is fine to admire them for the good that they do, but you should be careful of the evil they are capable of as well. You are nothing like them and the moment that they see that, or even sense what you are they will try to hurt you. It matters little to them if you are an angel.” Garm was aware of how harsh he sounded saying what he did but he meant well. The hellhound had no idea how long Alexandria had been in this realm. Life experiences taught him to be careful when dealing with humans, but not all supernaturals had that caution. Most did not know any better and got hurt in the end. Alexandria may be strong but her affection for humans could be a bigger weakness than she thought. It would be a shame if something bad happened to her because she underestimated her foe.
A child's wailing could be heard in the distance. Garm listened carefully at the sign before losing interest. Though he couldn't see what was happening it didn't sound like the child was being kidnapped or was in serious need of help. Garm knew better to try and investigate the matter. His presence would only cause the child more distress, and at worse nasty accusations. He had no desire to have the police called because the locals thought he was planning to murder their spawn. The angel seemed to lose interest in the child as well. Garm watched her relax for a moment until a spider crawled upon her face and startled her. He couldn't help but laugh a little bit at the woman's distress. Even female angels were not too found of spiders were they? “Horrible? I doubt it. He seemed rather friendly to me.” he chuckled. His laughter grew when she stated how she wished the spider was more like his minions. “Don't be fooled by those four's charming appearance.” The four dark devas of destruction jumped up to pose on their master's shoulders at the mention of them, giving the appearance of the deadly beast to match their master. “Each one of these beings are more fierce than that little spider. They are highly intelligent! Agile! And vicious if provoked!...though I suppose they are kind of cute regardless of what they do.”
