A woman stood in the middle of the forest, ripping off layers of bandages with anger in her mannerisms. She watched as dead skin, black goo, and dry blood peeled away from her body as she pulled, flinging the disgusting wraps to the ground. Her arms had already started bleeding, but Alierah didn't give a damn. She continued on to tear the clothing from her body as well, now standing naked among the trees. She let her weary arms rest, growling as a ring of fire encased her leaping figure. The being that landed was no longer bipedal; it was a black beast, with long legs and a forked tongue that lolled from the side of her jagged-toothed mouth. She prowled forward, the front half of her body collapsing when it could no longer handle the weight of her body.
The hound's growl deepened, black ooze and blood dripping down her forelegs and pooling on the dirt and twigs. These wounds just wouldn't seem to heal. In fact, the felt like they were only getting worse. Alierah had a fairly decent pain tolerance, but it wasn't just about tolerating the pain anymore. Her body physically did not allow her to walk on her forelegs. It made hunting all the more difficult. A few days ago she'd been able to at least take down an unsuspecting doe, and now she couldn't even walk. What the f*ck was happening to her? The hellhound continued to hobble and fall forward until finally Alierah gave in. She collapsed front first to the dirt, her hind legs eventually buckling behind her. There, the massive canine lay in defeat on the ground, her eyes closed in exhaust. It was so tiring, everything she was dealing with.
Ali wasn't the most emotional person, in fact she was quite simple, but with Akeelah's depression, Nova's hovering, the PIDA, the wounds, her dead and missing babies, the disappearance of Gil, Gei, and Cambria... Ali was done. She just wanted to lay down for awhile, away from it all. Perhaps she understood Akeelah more than she had thought. Never had Alierah wanted another living thing more in her life than she did right now... Where was Geikitsu? Was he with her children? Were they at least... Safe? Alierah whined for a moment, looking up at the trees from her resting position. Perhaps it was for the best that they were all gone. She would only f*ck up those babies, and she'd cheated on Geikitsu, albeit due to a misunderstanding. Maybe Alierah was meant to stay a lone wolf, the way she had been before she reunited with Gil.

A lone man stood at the edge of the forest, his head tiled up towards the blackened night sky. The moon lazily rose up from over the tree lines, providing soft rays of silver white light. He let out a long, exasperated sigh before proceeding to sniff the air. Of course, he couldn't catch much scent wise. Or at least not the scent he was looking for. She had to be here. His gut told him she was out here somewhere. He would search all night if he had too. Hell, he wouldn't stop until he found her. Alierah.
Geikitsu began moving forward, his gait slow and staggering. He was exhausted, but he couldn't rest right now. His body screamed at him to stop but he refused and pushed forward, ignoring the pain that shot up through his body. God did he hurt. Soon though, the pain wouldn't matter. Soon he could ignore it, push it to the back of his mind along with the images burned into his brain by the Axium. Honestly, he didn't care though, he was more worried for the kids. He grimaced, feeling a tremendous amount of guilt of having to leave them behind at home. He couldn't bring them out here. Not tonight. They would see their mother soon enough, and that brought a small amount of comfort to his heart.
He halted after having traveled a few minutes in the forest. He closed his eyes for a moment and sighed once more. He then looked down at himself, finally taking note of his tattered clothing. He hadn't really cared enough to find a change of clothes at home, if his clothing was still there. Ali could have moved on, the thought of which inflicting more pain on his already wounded heart. If she had, Gei prayed she was happy, even if it tore him apart. He would loathe the male Ali was with, but he could never bring himself to hate her ever.
Geikitsu proceeded to strip off the remains of his clothing and tossed them aside with a little grunt. His body was riddled with fairly fresh wounds that would turn into some sweet scars. He grinned a little to himself as he traced one particular cut along his chest. He let out a low chuckle before he dropped down onto his hands and knees. His body twisted and snapped into new, sharp angles and grew long, deep black fur all along the length of it. He growled in discomfort as his body finished it's changes and took a long moment to rest on his feet, or paws rather. Turning normally never took it out of him like this, but this go round it did and it frustrated him. At least he could actually track down Alierah now though.
He began to run at this point, pushing away the thoughts of his pain and weariness. Gei grew more excited and anxious as he pushed forward, slipping through the trees. Ali's scent grew stronger, though it intermingled with the smell of blood which struck fear in him. He tried to run faster, but his legs quickly demanded that he keep from doing that. He tripped and tumbled forward, letting out a loud, pained yelp. Whining, he slowly got back onto his feet and limped forward, pushing through a thick brush and into a small clearing. There on the ground he spotted a lying black figure.
"Alierah?" Gei called out quietly, uncertainty in his voice as he padded forward, his head lowered and a whimper vibrating softly in his throat. "Ali? Sunshine?" Gei whispered, stopping just in front of her, his muzzle just inches away from her head.

"Dear God, what now?" Ali lifted her head for a moment to listen for a noise she thought she'd heard, then exhaled dramatically and plopped onto her side. She couldn't rest her head on her front legs, so she was forced to lay sprawled out on the forest floor. She swore she could hear foot steps, but they were quiet enough to be her angry mind playing a trick. Alierah wouldn't be surprised if that's all it was, either. She had just been fretting about Geikitsu, An, and Ana, so it was only fair that her mind made her believe that's who was coming. The truth was, there was nobody on their way for Alierah, and she decided that's how she wanted it to be. The hound closed her eyes.
With the light breeze at Ali's back, she didn't have the advantage of scenting Geikitsu until he was inches from her face -- not to mention the fact she was half asleep. Hellhounds didn't need sleep too often, but Alierah quickly learned that her wounds were taking an immense physical toll. It was rather taxing to bleed every time she moved her arms. It was no matter now, for she was resting diligently on the underbrush with nothing to distract her. These wounds were nearly two weeks old and should've been entirely healed, but they seemed to still be in the early stages. Therefore, Alierah decided to sleep it away. '"Alierah? Ali? Sunshine?" she heard a voice in her dreams call out. She whimpered.
It sounded too much like Geikitsu for the girl to rest easily. Ali prodded herself awake, unwilling to deal with a dream about the mate who had left her. When her white eyes finally opened, it was a moment before she realized the darkness in front of her was another being. She jumped back from her low position with a yelp, landing awkwardly on her front paws and stumbling. She growled threateningly until she realized who the figure was. Geikitsu? She narrowed her ominous white eyes and continued her growl, though it was accompanied by the occasional whimper. She was angry, furious even, but she couldn't help but still loving him.
When she realized she wouldn't be any sort of threat when half of her legs didn't work, a ring of fire sprouted from her canine head, working its way down her body until the being in front of Geikitsu was a naked brunette girl, leaning back on her bloody arms. Now, when she rose to her feet with blood and the black goo that's sole purpose was to make hellhounds heal near instantaneously dripping from her fingertips, she glared at Geikitsu with those same white eyes. She wanted to hide her wounds, hide everything she felt way back in the most remote places where he couldn't reach it, but Alierah knew she was done for. Honestly, she still didn't know for sure if she was just dreaming. She would've rubbed her eyes to check, but she didn't want to dirty her face or take her eyes off of the massive wolf before her.
"Wh... What do you want?" she inquired, voice hoarse and gravelly. She cleared her throat and asked a bit louder, "Why are you here, Geikitsu?" as if she didn't want him there. But she did. She wanted him right next to her, holding all four of their puppies in their laps while Gei tried to figure out how to do a little girl's hair. She scrunched her nose up at how much of a pathetic excuse for a hellhound she was... But even Jude had had kids. Maybe it wasn't all bad to want such human things... After all, Jude had f*cked an angel mutt. At least she f*cked something black... Even though he was made to hunt their species. This thought resonated, causing Alierah to stand up straight with eyes shifting from white to their natural dark blue. She met his gaze head on.
"What do you want with me? Did you come back to do your damned job and finally kill me?" When Ali couldn't get the bleeding to stop, she threw her arms out in front of her for all to see instead. "Great time, too. I can't stop you. You can tear my throat out right now if you want to! Care to try?" Ali taunted. She lifted her chin up just enough to make it a point that she was a target, but at least she would go down swinging. She was trembling, her eyes fading to black out of fear, but she wasn't budging. Alierah would rather die than give in. It dawned on her that maybe she was assuming the absolute worst before he had even spoken more than her name, but what good would optimism do her? An optimistic hellhound was a dead hellhound, vulnerable to all sorts of betrayal. She wouldn't give him the opportunity to betray her again.

Gei had dreamed over and over of the day he and Alierah would be reunited. He had pictured himself sauntering back home with little Conan and Eleana in tow. They would be reunited with their sister Arya and their beautiful mother and light and happiness could be in their lives again. He would try again to be a good father, the best father he could be, and a better man for Ali. He had wanted nothing more than to just be a family and be happy forever. Could he though? Would Alierah even accept his return? Would she take their children away from their awful father?
His picture blurred though when he initially approached Ali, a couple of reasons. Ali wouldn't forgive him for him disappearing, and for allowing their children to be taken and used as test subjects for scumbag creatures. And could he even truly be around his love should she allow him back in her life? He had underwent tortures of his own, tortures that released a violent, primitive part of his brain. A part of him he had locked away so long ago. He had been forced to remember that he was bred to kill those like Alierah. To rid the world of their evil and take away the minions of greater demons. He had not felt those feelings since Alierah. Sure he had wanted to kill Guillotine, but for other reasons other than him being a Hellhound. Could he lock away his instincts again? He whimpered to himself, hoping and praying that he would have the strength to.
Gei's crimson and gold speckled eyes scanned Alierah's resting body and he released a low, long whimper. He had been right then, she was wounded and the scent of her blood nearly overwhelmed him. "Sunshine?" He whispered again, reaching to press his nose against the side of her face when her snow colored eyes snapped open. He jerked his head back in surprise when she scrambled to her feet and jump back with a threatening snarl. Gei quickly pressed his ears down against his skull and lowered his body in submission to show that he was no danger to her. He refrained, reluctantly, from approaching her as she weakly got back to her feet and vanished in her changing flame. There was no trace of the Hound now and only the small frame of Ali's human body stood before him. He could now clearly see the wounds all along her arms and his eyes widened in panic.
"Ali baby? W-what happened to you?" Geikitsu gasped, standing back fully from his submissive crouch. She didn't answer him though, but rather she demanded what he wanted and why he was here before her. His jaw opened slightly prepared to answer her. "Sunshine, I-" She cut him off though and he clamped his jaws shut once more, allowing her to speak.
He frowned, as much as a wolf could actually frown and he pushed up with his front paws. Gei let his body shift back quickly, the black fur covering him falling off into a furry pile below his feet. He stood before Ali, just as bare as she was and frowned deeply. His eyes were filled with guilt and his heart throbbed painfully in his chest.
"Alierah I came back for you, I," He paused for a moment, clenching his teeth some before continuing, "not to kill you. Baby please just...let me explain. But let me help you first you're hurt I..." Tears brimmed at his now amber colored eyes. How could she think that's what he was here to do? He had never hurt her before, never thought of it no matter how temperamental she got. He honestly couldn't say he wouldn't think of not hurting her now, not after everything that had happened. Gei wouldn't let himself though, no matter what. He just wanted to explain to her, comfort and heal her, bundle her in his arms and kiss away her pain, both mental and physical. He had caused her so much pain and he wanted to fix it. He had to fix it somehow.
"Sunshine? Please just...don't be scared of me." He said the last words almost inaudibly as he slowly approached Ali, his arms outstretched to her, silently begging her to just let him be near her.

Ali was typically sensible. At least, sensible in that she was quite even with her emotions. She did not see the point in overthinking and worrying, and she certainly did not see the point in crying or getting angry. But, the last... However long it had been without her kids and Geikitsu had been a tax she couldn't afford. She was still quite sensible, but she was more apt to snapping in anger, or even crying at pointless things. Pointless things being worrying over her children and mate and the death of her other two children. Alierah wasn't the type of hellhound that needed to kill or steal or wreak havoc for pleasure. Before Gei, she'd had plenty of sexual encounters with just as many people, but now all she wanted was Geikitsu. And that was enough for her. Having Gei, her children, and all of the great sex she wanted with an amazing person was all Ali could hope for.
But she couldn't have that, and she hated herself for becoming too human.
And then it dawned on her, why her wounds weren't healing, why she couldn't use her full powers, and why shifting was a struggle. She was becoming too human. The same way an angel fell for disobeying the angelic laws and becoming too integrated with humans, Alierah was facing similar perils.
Alierah was never the first person to snap out of anger, but now she was furious. Her black eyes shifted white again and she jabbed a finger at Geikitsu while taking a step back. She still found herself scared of Gei, but she couldn't help the anger that had brewed in her unbeknownst. "Don't you take another fucking step closer. Don't... Don't come near me. Don't fucking -- " his words put her further on edge. Help her? How did he plan on doing that? Alierah clenched her fists until they turned white, blood pouring faster from her wounds from the pressure. "HELP ME?!" she roared. "THIS IS BECAUSE OF YOU!" Alierah's voice cracked because it was not used to being so loud. Alierah didn't yell. This wasn't her at all, and she knew it. She'd had a tantrum at Jude only two nights before, and he mentioned how uncharacteristic she had become.
It broke her overtime he called her Sunshine. She wanted to run to him and kiss him and hug him and ask about their children and tell him that another kid had died... Any of it was better than being mad at him, but Alierah couldn't. She couldn't do that. She trembled when he asked her not to be scared of him, but she couldn't help it. She had never bee afraid of him in the past, and he'd never once given her a reason to be scared, but the brunette was in tune with him. She knew he was off. She knew something was different, and she knew he'd been through shit. She could read it on his face. Geikitsu looked like he'd been to hell and back, and Alierah had literally been to Hell and back in the past. She wished she could've asked him what had happened.
But that's not what Ali did. She yelled at him. She made his pain worse, because she had a knack for pissing people off, hurting the people she loved, and turning them against her. "I'm... I'm bleeding because I can't-- I can't heal, because I'm too human, because I've spent so long worrying about your fucking ass, and the only two goddamned babies I have left. AND IT WON'T STOP. I WON'T STOP BLEEDING, GEI!" Ali brought her hands to her face, feeling an onset of emotions she didn't know how to deal with. The warmth of blood and black goo trickling down her arms and stomach and legs only made her angrier. She looked back to him, her voice uncomfortably even. "I... Am scared of you. You're different. And if you attacked me right now, you would kill me. I would fucking die. I was built for hunting and tracking, not fighting. And I can't hunt or track or run or..." She gave him a pathetic look.
"I can't keep my children safe. Griff died because I... I made Gil mad. Arya was just... So sick... I couldn't help her, and Eleana and Conan are missing. My pups were taken from me. My only remaining pups. And I don't know where they are." She inhaled and realized what she'd just said. "ARYA IS DEAD, GEIKITSU. ARYA IS FUCKING DEAD TOO." Ali growled a houndish growl and picked up a massive branch. It was heavy for her, and this added to her frustration. Alierah threw it back at the ground and watched it shatter, not even noticing the splinters in her hands. She only bled more and more, anyway.
Alierah tried to get a grip on herself, but she had no idea how to. So she stood there, glaring at the broken branch, as if it had wronged her all of these months. "Please don't hurt me." She looked back to him, her eyes black with fear again. She'd never been this vulnerable before.

Gei remembered how calm and collected Alierah could be. Very rarely had she let her emotions get the better of her unlike himself. She was the emotional balance to his temperamental instability. Sure, she had her moments, but not nearly as many as Gei. He had always acted out on impulse of his emotions, whether they were positive or not. It's perhaps because he had grown up around humans for a great deal of his life and had learned to act as they did. Or maybe it was just simply in the nature of a Sanguis Wolf to be emotionally erratic. Or maybe it was in the nature of a Hellhound to be as calm as Ali had been? No, that certainly wasn't in their nature. Guillotine and Alierah's siblings had been a clear example of what a Hellhound was like in terms of emotions.
So why was Ali so...not Ali like? Well, probably because she was hurt. That makes sense. Gei wasn't exactly the cheeriest when he was cut open and bleeding too. Of course she had to be upset he had vanished. That makes sense too. He sighed quietly, wondering why he asked himself such obvious questions. Still though, even with this justified anger, Alierah still didn't seem like herself. What had happened all this time when he was gone? He had taken note of the way her eyes shifted from her typical blue eyes, to white, to black. Very rarely had he ever seen them black. Fear. Ali hardly showed fear for anything. Sure, he had seen those angry white eyes many times throughout his time knowing her, but hardly ever black.
She really was scared. Scared of him? Geikitsu clenched his fists tightly. Could she sense the difference in him? Did her gut tell her of the things he had been forced to do? Could she still somehow smell the blood of her kind in his breath? Or see it on his flesh as though he had not scrubbed it away? Or could she simply see by the wounds that had scarred across the canvas of his body that they were his unwanted trophies? He had done all he could to rid himself of the wretched taste and smell of the Hounds, had scrubbed his body raw in order to rid it from his person. It wouldn't leave him though and maybe Alierah could see it. He clenched his fists tighter, the muscles in his arms tightening as well involuntarily.
Ali had snapped at him then, jabbing a finger roughly at him which took him by surprise. She began to scream at him now, and all he could do was stare at her like a scared pup. This only lasted a few moments though, as he began to feel anger of his own bubble within him, as though Ali had passed it on the moment she touched him. A low, guttural growl vibrated in his chest and the edges of his irises flashed a deep blood red. The primitive part of his mind seemed to growl with him in the back of his mind, snarling at him to simply strike the female down for her disrespect.
He pushed the voice back further, ignoring its bloodthirsty demands.
"Aleirah! Would you please fucking listen to me?" He bellowed, baring his teeth slightly as though he were still in wolf form. Gei had stopping moving forward though, just as Ali had wanted. "I DID THIS TO YOU?" He roared back at her, his crimson rimmed eyes glaring angrily at her. The voice in the back of his mind forced its way further again. "You think I wanted to leave you, to hurt you, on purpose?" Gei snarled, taking a few steps towards her, poised as if he were ready to strike her. Do it, do it. The voice cried out loudly. The anger however quickly cooled into a hard lump in his chest and remorse overtook the anger and pain in his face. The voice had silenced itself. His eyes returned to amber as he glanced down at the ground below him like a guilty child. An outburst like this wouldn't help her. He wasn't sure what got into him. Gei continued to look at the ground, afraid the unknown anger would return to him. "I never meant to do this. I'm so sorry." He spoke softly, so softly he wasn't sure if Alierah would have heard him or not. He sunk to his knees then, throwing away any last bit of pride he had in his tired body.
Geikitsu remained silent, though he watched Alierah as she spoke and yelled at him, showing him her ever bleeding wounds. He sank further to the ground, placing his hands down and letting his body curl up pitifully. She was scared of him. She thinks he would kill her. Ali went on about their children, and Gei perked up just enough to lift his head and part of his upper body back up. The kids! Ali needed to know he had brought Conan and Eleana home...though he had not seen Arya...perhaps she was with a sitter or...
Dead
One of his little girls were dead? "Arya?" Gei whined and sank back to the ground in a pitiful slump. "Arya." He wailed, gripping the grass between his fingers. Gei looked truly pathetic and he didn't care, he just didn't. Gei whimpered his daughter's name a few more times before Alierah quietly begged him to not hurt her. He looked up at her, tears streaming down his rugged feature and he rose onto his hands and knees. He crawled over to her slowly as though he were a toddler before he sat up on his knees. Gei craned his neck to look up at her before he quickly, yet gently, wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his face into her stomach. He held onto her, perhaps a little too tightly, not caring that her blood got on him. God there was so much of it. What was he to do? How long would she let him do this? Not long he would imagine. "Conan and Eleana are alive." He whispered, wrapping his arms even tighter without meaning to. "They're ok Alierah. They're ok. They're ok." Gei repeated over and over, sounding more like he was convincing himself rather than her.

She scanned his face, her eyes trailing consequentially to his scars. Alierah bit her lip, recognizing which were old and which were... Recent. And she could tell who they were from, or more accurately, what. She had been right in her intuition, to believe Geikitsu had turned back to his instincts, but he was right to be upset. He'd never hurt her in the past. Not once. Gil had slapped her around plenty, and even Jude had struck her once or twice. Perhaps, despite her efforts, Alierah would always be seen as the omega. Was it because of her gender? It had to be that, and the fact they knew she couldn't fight them head on. Alierah had cunning thought and invisibility on her side, but she couldn't win in a fight on strength alone. She could most certainly put up a challenge, and she was quite lithe, but her best hope was tiring out her opponent first. And right now, Alierah was already tired. So, maybe it was the female in her that knew she wasn't as tough as the boys anymore that made her back down when they got physical, but maybe it was more because she had children to worry about now. It wasn't until Guillotine brutally punched her pregnant stomach that Ali had learned to stop picking fights.
Either way, Alierah didn't like confrontation. Not with Geikitsu. Ali would gladly get her ass beaten by Guillotine if it meant defying everything he did, but that's because he was a self-righteous prick. Alierah didn't want to have that relationship with Gei and Jude. Ali turned her face away from Geikitsu when he raised his voice, her eyes closed as tightly as her fists. She gasped when she sensed he'd raised his hand, and she looked briefly to it, then Gei, before closing her eyes again. If he wanted to hit her, then fine. She wouldn't fight him. She'd play the part of the pathetic grieving mother. It went against everything she'd lived for, to not stare him down and taunt him to strike her, but she couldn't do that with Geikitsu. In the end, Alierah just wanted his affection, but she'd been put in a bad place from the day she was created; a female tracker was bound to face ridicule from the hounds that were built for more brute tasks. She pulled the ready souls down to Hell at the beckon of a demon. She just needed to be stronger than humans and their toys. In a way, though, Alierah could very much thank Gil for making her the bitch she was today. At least she was a strong bitch.
"N-no, that's not what I meant, I --" but what did she mean? Of course he hadn't meant to hurt her, but Alierah didn't realize males could have true remorse. She didn't think anybody could have remorse, especially her kind. She was a hellhound, for God's sake. They were built to kill and fuck and repeat, sometimes in that order. But that wasn't her. Ali finally looked back to Gei when he apologized, her face stoic. She'd seen him perk up at the mention of the kids, and everything good in her shattered when his face fell. Yeah, Arya was dead. Arya was dead, and so was Griff, and where were the other two? Alierah felt her heart sank deeper when she saw his tears. She felt the same way. She wanted to cry and mourn the death of her daughter, too, but it wasn't in her nature. It was her nature to track down the missing children and make sure they didn't share the same fate. Seeing Geikitsu on the ground suddenly made her more aware of her blood, and she felt dizziness set in. She was losing a lot of it, and though bleeding wouldn't kill her, it could very well knock her unconscious. She was still a hellhound, she wasn't that weak.
And then he hugged her. Her black eyes widened and she lifted her arms above her head, staring Geikitsu down from where he sat on his knees. She waited for him to do something, anything, but that 'whatever' she had expected didn't come. At first, she worried about the blood from her wounds immersing his body as well, but Geikitsu didn't seem to mind. He just hugged her, and hugged her, and hugged her, and the timing was impeccable considering his embrace stabilized her dizzy self. The most extravagant thing that happened was that his embrace only became more firm. And, that was when her mind was finally put to ease.
Geikitsu had found the babies.
To say that Alierah was relieved would be an understatement. There were no words to describe the pressure in her chest that had squeezed her heart since their disappearance, and how by simple words it had suddenly dissipated. There wasn't anything in the world Alierah could do to express how happy she was that her children were safe, at home resting. The brunette rested a hand atop Gei's head, at first cautiously running her fingers through his hair. "You found them," she breathed. Her eyes flicked back to their lovely dark blue, and she ran the fingers of her other hand through his hair too. Alierah was concerned for where they had been, but she didn't know if she could bring herself to sit through the answer. Ali gently propped Geikitsu's head back to look at his weary face. She had an idea of where they had been, just from analyzing Geikitsu's behavior and scars. It was akin to the person a family friend had become. She remembered that Violet had a barcode on the back of her neck from that vile place, and wondered if Gei had one as well. Or her babies. Oh God, if her tiny babies had been to the Axium...
"How are they? Do they hate me for -- for not being able to protect them?" Ali cringed. It was true, she hadn't been able to protect her babies, and as a result had grown quite motherly of Akeelah's children. It wasn't that Akeelah was an awful mother, it was far from it. She just knew Akeelah could use help, and Ali was more than willing to be there for them. Sure, they were half Guillotine and half cat, but that didn't change anything... They were her blood, too. They didn't age as quickly as her children, because shifters aged quite slowly, but Alierah loved them as her own.
And then Ali dropped to her own knees and, despite the newfound anger with in her to graciously hug Gei. She was pissed he left her, but she realized now it was to do what she should've done, but couldn't. Find the babies. She wished it could've been her that had been taken, to rid Geikitsu of the pain he felt. There were no hidden secrets they could have unleashed in Alierah -- she is already an instinctual beast. Geikitsu, however... Alierah knew his turmoil. "Is that why you are...?" She ran her hands down his arms, feeling the new wounds and feeling empathy toward Geikitsu. She thought she'd heard a yelp earlier, and perhaps it had came from him. "Are the babies okay? Are you okay?" she finished. Ali couldn't bring herself to ask anything else. She knew it was a stupid question, both of them, but one could at least hope. Then again, optimism for hellhounds was a risk in and of itself.

Though he would never admit it, Gei felt entirely overwhelmed with far too many emotions. He could handle being drop dead tired, being clawed and bit at, having various tubes and needles stuck in him, but this was a little much. Gei had gone from feeling such unfathomable hatred when he had been trapped in the Axium, to relief and joy the second he was able to snatch back his children before escaping. And now he was torn between joy of seeing Alierah, grief for Arya's death, and now the ever growing fear of just simply being in the presence of his beloved.
The way Alierah had shut her eyes to him when his anger rose made his heart sink. It had taken a great deal of energy to not act out on his anger on her, but the thought sickened him. He had begged her previously to not be afraid of him, and yet he had almost been willing to contradict his plea. Gei would be no better than Guillotine had he done this, and the thought of that made his blood boil as well. He still had little understanding of Hellhound hierarchy and pack mentality. Then again, Geikitsu had little knowledge of how packs worked for his own kind being that when he crossed over to this world he lost important parts of his memory. The few things he remembered was that females more often than not, served as trackers, while the males did the heavy lifting. No matter what the female did in the pack though, Gei thought he remembered that they were treated with the utmost respect. And to unlawfully mistreat females, pups, and the elders could be anywhere from getting a notch on your ear or claw mark, to exile, and to death even depending the circumstances. These little memories made Gei wonder briefly if he had mistreated anyone from some pack he didn't remember.
When Gei had the nerve to do what he did and hug Ali, he had not noticed right away just how unsteady she really was and his mind was brought back to her wounds. He gritted his teeth together, wracking his brain for ideas on what to do next should Alierah not attack him. Which thankfully, she didn't do. Rather, she had place a hand atop his hand, her fingers brushing his hair which had grown out far longer than what he normally kept it. The Axium had not cared in the slightest to keep him groomed properly. After all, he had been a lab rat, a tool for their strange purposes rather than a simple pet. Gei sniffled rather pitifully when Ali had finally spoken again, and with a positive note to her tone. He smiled shakily to himself when he heard those words. She tilted his head back then so that his eyes could meet hers, which had returned to her beautiful shade of blue. Another small, weary smile wobbled onto his features. "Yeah, I found them. They're home." He gave a small, nervous chuckle. Gei could see the concern in her face, and she had every right to be concerned. The Axium was no place for children. The unfortunate thing was, if Ali asked what had been done to them, he wouldn't be able to give her an answer. He had spent most of his time being an unwilling errand boy, and eventually a mindless attack dog.
Thankfully, Ali did not exactly ask what had been done to them but rather asked if they were ok. "They're alright Sunshine. And they could never hate their mother." He could answer that confidently at least. Gei even flashed a genuine smile for her and gave her a firm squeeze. The smile quickly faded though.
Is that why you are...?
"Why I'm what?" Gei asked playing dumb and fabricating a false grin. Yeah, of course there was no hiding something was up, but Gei was determined to keep it up. He brought his hands up and gently placed them on each side of Ali's face when she dropped down to his eye level. "The kids are fine Ali. They went straight to sleep. I'm sure they would love a goodnight kiss from their mommy though." He said, ignoring the question about him entirely. He winced slightly when she touched his arms and brushed over a few somewhat fresh wounds. No, he wasn't ok, but he wasn't about to tell that to her. She was worse off than him anyways.
"Sunshine before you ask any more questions, we need to do something about you first." Gei softly brushed his lips against Alierah's forehead. Could he even get her home like this? They were quite a ways away, and something needed to be done about her ever bleeding wounds. He frowned again. The man was no healer, but if he could makeshift some bandages or something and then carry her ass back home without her bleeding out. How she's still conscious is beyond him. He sighed, and made the mistake of taking a deep breath afterwards. God just how much did Ali bleed? He was very much aware of the scent of her blood again and he quickly released his mate from his hold. Gei pinched the bridge of his knows and backed off some from Ali.
"I-I'll be back. I think I've got something that'll work." Gei mumbled, quickly getting to his feet. "Hang tight Sunshine. I'll be right back ok?" He spoke quickly, desperately even before taking off into the woods again. Gei quickly shifted, dropping to four legs and sprinting as quickly as he could. He followed his trail back to the edge of the forest, slowly leaving the scent of Ali's blood behind. Though remnants of it still remained in his nostrils. He snarled angrily and quickly halted in his steps. Gei turned on his feet and slashed at a nearby tree, clawing deep wounds into the bark. He kept this process up for a minute before snatching a thick branch from the ground and shaking it violently. Gei bit into the branch harder and harder until it shattered into sharp pieces, leaving bits of it in his jowls. He let out another vicious snarl before turning away and back to his intended destination.
He reached the edge of the woods and found his clothes that he had so carelessly tossed to the side. He bundled them in his jaws and ran, far slower than previously, back to Alierah's location. Gei felt a bit better after having his little episode. Hopefully good enough to patch her up without any further incident. He returned about five or so minutes later several feet from where he had left his mate. Gei hesitated with the clothes still in his mouth. He eyes Ali fearfully, his crimson eyes a few shades darker than normal. Gei padded a few steps forward with his ears pressed against his head, his eyes never leaving her. He stopped just a few short feet from her now, and gingerly dropped the bundle of tattered clothing on the ground. Gei just continued to stare, as if he were silently asking for permission to move forward. After a minute of silence, he shifted back in a crouching position and grabbed the clothes with his now human hands. He broke eye contact with Alierah and looked at the bundle of clothes. Gei carefully and quietly began to tear at his shirt into strips. Hopefully these would work for now.

She knew Gei was avoiding the questions directed at him, but she wasn't about to pressure him. Ali could tell that he'd been through some serious shit, and that was why she'd trailed off in her question, asking a new one instead. She wasn't certain if she wanted to know. Well, of course she did, so she knew how many chunks of flesh she was to tear from each scientist, and how many of them needed to die an agonizing death. The hound was not prioritizing such a thought at this time, though, for there were other pressing matters. For a moment, Ali could feel the sting of tears behind her eyes at hearing his words -- that they could never hate their mother -- but that feeling dissipated as it had arrived. His smile made her smile, and her blue eyes were a bit less sunken than they'd been only moments before. At least everyone was alive. They could fix themselves now, but Ali was still concerned about her love. "Of... Of course. I would love to see them, but I will wait until morning. They need rest --" Ali frowned then, pressing a palm to her forehead.
Pressure was building tremendously in her head. The hellhound had no room for frustration when her vision was tunnel. She blinked a few times, trying to think of an answer to his first question when she couldn't even hear his next. "O-okay." she breathed, questioning if that was even a valid answer. She sat down on the leaves, the drop making her whimper quietly. It had felt like a much farther drop than it was, from her knees to her butt, for she had no concept of distance at the moment. Only that Geikitsu was no longer in front of her. Was this what he had said? Did he say he'd be right back? She laid back on the ground, closing her eyes to relieve some of the pressure. Every input was too much input right now, and everything was making her feel like vomiting. Ugh, when the fuck had she become so weak? These wounds should have healed the day after they happened. She wouldn't have inflicted so much damage on herself if she would have known. It was a regular knife, nothing special. If it had been holy, then the circumstances would be different. But it wasn't. It was a plain old, weak-ass knife.
Apparently not so weak, though. At least, not to Alierah. The girl pressed both palms to her eyes know, focusing on her breathing of the crisp air. She tried to recall the reasons why hellhounds grew weak, and it all came down to one thing. Sins. For the same reasons an angel fell, Alierah was rising, in a sense. She wasn't sure if all hounds were held to the same standards of sinning, but it didn't really matter. Every other hound she knew wasn't in danger of that sort of thing. She, on the other hand, was. She didn't do the things she used to do. She had become a bit more sympathetic to those who are living, for she now knew what it was like to lose. Of course, it wouldn't completely stop her in the future, but Ali was much more likely to pick off the people who she thought deserved her pleasantries of death. Not to mention, she'd denied dozens of calls from demons who needed souls claimed. That was breaking some major rules, and she had every damn right to be terrified of Lucifer right now. She'd never met him first hand, but she had seen what he could do, or rather, what he could make others do.
When Geikitsu reappeared, Alierah opened her eyes to watch him, progressively sitting up. It was tough; difficult to sit up and difficult to focus on him and the blood pouring out of her body, but she kept her blue eyes trailing him loosely. She was aggravated that yet another person had to help her dress her stupid wounds, and perhaps Gei picked up on this anger. He was keeping low, his eyes darker, as if to say may I approach? Normally Alierah would revel in such a gesture, but not from her mate. She beckoned him with a wary hand. She then heard the tearing of fabric and laid back down, arms out to her sides. "I'm sorry," she muttered, struggling to get the words out. She always felt awkward apologizing, even if she meant it, and especially now, when the person she had just screamed at and berated was now attempting to fix her wounds with his tattered shirt. It seemed that karma always came to bite Alierah in the ass, but Guillotine went on unscathed. Well, mostly. He was the most amusing P.I.D.A. bitch ever.
