Aviela Grace walked down the cold, dark road pulling her hood over her head. She ducked down an alleyway and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. She smiled as she pulled one to her lips. Avi had been hooked since Guillotine let her try the ones he had, they were extremely strong, but the burn it left in the fallen angel’s throat was oddly soothing. She never really forgave herself for everything she had been through, she especially had never forgiven Azazel. Everything was different now. With her and Azazel’s split, and Guillotine gone, she didn't know what to do. The girl was alone and cold-hearted. She took a long drag of her cigarette and leaned against a brick wall. “Life is full of bullshit.”
Aviela yawned and pushed off of the wall and continued back down the sidewalk. It was about 11 at night but the temperature was still dropping. She could hear sirens in the distance and all Aviela could think about was the night of her car wreck. She was leaving the same town she was in now but something always seemed to bring her back, maybe it was all the supernaturals walking around. Aviela pressed on taking a couple hits from her cigarette. She continued passing the different bars and restaurants until one caught her eye. It was down a back way and looked like it attracted a tough crowd. The name read: Kemp’s Pool Hall.
Streams of smoke poured out the door from the cigarette smoke inside along with the sound of cracking of pool balls and yells from men. A bouncer stood in the doorway, he was about 6’ 7 and very built. She took one last drag off her cigarette and tossed it. Aviela walked up to him and he stepped towards her. “Whoa there princess, I don't think this is a place for little girls like you.” The man laughed and looked her up and down. Aviela figured this would happen, this didn't look like a place for normal girls, but she was anything but that. “You don't know anything about ‘little’ girls like me. I’m fine.” The girl tried to push past him but the man just pushed her back. “Now listen, I don't want to hurt you. Why don't you just turn around and go back home to your parents. You will get nothing but trouble from a place like this.” Avi thought of how great it would feel to get in a fight, she wanted to press her luck. Aviela knew she wouldn't get her way without using her power of seduction. She didn't like using her abilities but sometimes it had to be done to get her way. The fallen angel dug in her pocket and pulled out a twenty, she tucked it into the man’s shirt pocket getting very close to him. She stood on her toes and whispered to him sexily. “How about this, you let me in, shoot some pool, have a drink or two, and I’ll sneak out if there is any trouble.” She looked him in the eyes innocently and bit her lip. The man’s eyes had glazed over and he blinked a couple times before nodding for her to go in.
The fallen angel stepped inside and was engulfed in smoke. She sat at the bar and ordered a beer like what everyone else was drinking. She was surprised that the man behind the bar didn't card her, he just gave her a stare and then slid a glass towards her. She already caught a couple stares, she didn't want to stand out any more than she did. Avi took a gulp and looked for an empty pool table, they had all been taken but there was a dark booth towards the back that looked secluded. The girl grabbed her beer and walked back towards the booth, she could feel men’s hungry eyes on her backside. She smiled to herself, “Fucking pigs.” Avi knew she could handle herself, she would have to have a good rest afterwards, but as she scanned everyone in the bar she noticed none of them seemed to be supernaturals, or at least she thought.
Aviela slid into the seat and took another sip of beer waiting for a table to open. She kept her head low but she was very aware of her surroundings. She was praying for a little fun tonight.
