Out of CharacterFirst post yaaaayyyyy.
In CharacterNight was just starting to fall, but you couldn't tell much of a difference from inside the pub. The lights in the small building were shining a soft yellow, and there was enough that the entire pub was lit up. It was too early for the pub to be very busy, but they had a few people and groups sitting around tables and at the bar. With night approaching, it probably wouldn't be too long before the small building became filled with people wanting to drink their problems away or have a fun night out with their friends.
Noah was at his position at the bar, tending to the few people who had sat down there. He'd been working at the pub long enough to recognize a few faces, though most of them didn't come in until later in the night. With those who'd sat at the bar already served, Noah just spent his time lazily cleaning the counter and reorganizing the drinks and cups behind the bar. As he cleaned, he absentmindedly watched the pub, listening to those he could hear talking and watching idly. Not a lot went on at the bar usually, but listening to other people's stories was more interesting than nothing.

Blake had entered the pub, based on the fact that she had not been home for much too long from her visit to Scandinavia. She missed drinking and missed the need for alcohol to fill her. Honey mead was something her mother introduced her to. It tasted obnoxiously strong but she eventually got used to it and grew to love the taste. However, ales were something she had grown fond of as well. Tonight, she wanted to enjoy herself and feel herself just let a little bit of her inner tension down. This meant that Stevie could not join her. Stevie. That zombie was definitely good company and he loved to be around her. She missed his presence, as he greeted her with wide brown eyes and a smile that only seemed to light up his face. For a moment, there almost seemed to be life back in him when he embraced her in his strong arms. She missed her friend as much as he had missed her. It was a sweet moment between the two as they sat in one another’s arms. Besides her wonderful mother, nobody loved her like her friends did. It was a nice feeling.
But back to the pub. Stevie was willing to turn off his clinginess for one night to allow her to have some alone time. He was certain she needed it. Therefore, Stevie cut the umbilical for one night. Her hand gently pushed the pub door open. Her pale green eyes began to scan the room upon entering. Her eyes narrowing to the ground to not make eye contact as she stuffed her hands that were covered with knitted fingerless gloves into the pockets of her coat that was made from gray suede and black fur trim. A wide hood that rest elegantly on her head as the coat’s length flowed down, just above her knees. Her boots gently tapped the ground as she entered the room even further. Softly removing the hood from her head to make her features more visible. She was small, but played off as if she was to be acting her age – which should have been closer to the age of the bartender. Though she was cursed with endless life that was still fragile. Some people turned their head to look at her. She glanced to them, only to make her way to the empty stool at the bench. Blake managed to sit down and pulled out her wallet and her ID. Still glancing, cautiously side to side. Never could be too careful in a world like this one, right?
”An adios? Please?” she asked shyly. She licked her natural rose pink lips and gently tapped the corner of her debit card against the bar. Not impatiently, more absently. Her ears picking up on the beat that she was making and distracting her from her discomfort. She inhaled then exhaled heavily and shivered slightly as the eyes of the other patrons burned into the back of her skull.

Out of CharacterSorry this took so long, I'm not used to forums yet. >.>
In CharacterNoah turned his attention to the door when a few of the patrons did as well, catching sight of the girl. He examined her for a moment, before going back to lightly wiping the counter down. He didn't usually catch a lot of teens trying to sneak a drink here, especially this early, but he didn't let his surprise show on his face. He finished wiping the counter down before the girl had gotten to the bar, leaving him enough time to toss the rag into the sink and to flatten his clothes. He wore a simple black dress shirt with a bright purple tie, an equally-purple apron tied around his waist. He didn't particularly like the shade of purple, but it was the pub's main color, so it was part of his uniform.
As Blake found her seat, Noah gave a smile, but before he could ask what she wanted, she gave the answer. He gave a small nod, smile still on his face, before looking down and grabbing her ID. It seemed real, but it wasn't up to him to decide that. He turned to the side, adjusting the position of an iPhone with a card read attached through the headphone jack. He swiped the card through the reader, and it rewarded him with a small green check-mark. He gave a nod and turned back to the girl, handing her ID back to her.
"Alright, did you want any food with that, or just the drink for you?" He still offered her a smile as he collected the cup and bottles for the drink. He put the cup down on the bar, before pouring the drinks together. He'd made this one enough times that he'd gotten it down to a science. Start with vodka, gin, rum, tequila and Blue Curacao. Add about equal amounts of sour and 7-Up, stir it and give it a cherry. As he finished the drink, he pushed it towards the girl lightly, offering a smile as he did. He waited to see what she thought of it, wanting to see her reaction to it's taste, but he took a step back, taking the bottles with him to place back in their spots. After placing them down and wiping his hands on a damp rag hanging out from a pocket in his apron, he turned his attention back to Blake, hoping for some commentary on the drink.

The girl smiled at her drink once placed in front of her. Mostly her attention rested with the bartender. Watching as Noah mixed the drinks without questioning the amount to each liquid. She loved watching people do this, it must have been how her friends felt as they watched her make potions. She knew what she was doing without question when she brought her ingredients out and began to mix and make. She always had her glasses on her pale face and managed to keep silent. It was almost the same with this man as he made his drinks with care and preciseness. The straw reached her lips as she began to sip her drink. The flavor of the mixed drink touched her tongue and caused her to close her eyes softly and her lips formulating into a small smile as she opened her pale eyes and looked back up to the tender.
”This is good! Thank you. You have quite a talent….” Her eyes then fell upon his name tag and found herself blinking a bit. Noah. It was a name she had liked for a long time. The sound of it was just pleasant when it hit her ears, ”Noah.” She figured it would be rude to not call him by his name. Her head tipped to the side as she found herself gently grabbing the stem of the cherry between her index and thumb. Devouring the whole cherry, stem and all. Her eyes glancing off to the side as she remained silent now. Not wishing to ignore Noah, but was feeling shy as she was not good in even small crowds from time to time, so long as someone she knew was around. Stevie was at home, Loki was out. Nobody knew where Vince or Guillotine were. She had to take the company she could get. Fortunately, Blake was friendly enough that she could make friends where ever she went. Maybe she could make some here, or even with Noah. He seemed pleasant enough and had a smile that was welcoming. That was always a plus. He also didn’t give her strange vibes that told her she should run. Another good sign. That was when the blonde decided to break the silence between the two of them.
”How long have you been a bartender?” she asked politely, ”Nobody has talent like that overnight.” She gently wrinkled her nose for but a second and continued smiling at the male, sipping the drink from her straw once more. But not too much at once, as this could get her drunk faster than she was used to. After removing the straw from her lips, she was able to loosen up a little more. Removing her coat from her frame and now setting it on the stool beside her. Under the coat was two layers. The first layer, which could not be seen unless you looked at her back or a little at her sides through the rips in her shirt was a black camisole. The shirt itself in the second layer was a black tank top that had a layer of lace going down the spine of the shirt and was see through. In fact, there was a spine pattern woven into the back of the shirt. The sides of the shirt had slits. The color of her eyes was only enhanced by the cat-like lines of black around her eyes. She gently twirled her straw in her glass with her elegant fingers for a moment before tying her hair up into a simple messy bun to keep her hair off her face as she made conversation with this male.

Out of CharacterI think I may put a little too much research into my roleplays. >.> I spent way too long figuring out how old you have to be to serve alcohol in Louisiana.
In CharacterNoah noticed the girl's interest in his drink mixing, though he tried not to show it. He'd gotten similar looks a lot since he'd started working as a bartender. People would often come in and ask him how to make a drink or two. He didn't quite understand the fascination people had with it, but it'd come to be something he expected. His smile grew as he heard the girl's reaction, happy to hear that she liked the drink.
He was about to respond when she'd found his name and spoke it. Taking a moment to follow her line of sight to his name tag, he gave a small laugh towards himself. "Well, thank you!" As he finished talking, he turned to see another patron asking for another drink. It was an easy one, all he wanted was a beer, so he filled the cup up and handed it back to the other man. While still turned away, Noah took a few moments to stop and listen. He figured he should train when he could, even though he didn't ever really plan on using his powers unless he needed to.
With his back still turned, he focused his attention on the girl, taking a moment to tune in to her heart beat, listening to it thump. After finding her beat, he focused on smells. Those were always harder in the pub. There was already a lot of different smells to pull up, and focusing on it for too long made his head hurt, but he did it anyways. It took longer, and he had to move while he was doing it, but eventually he pulled the girl's scent out from the crowd.
Just as he isolated the girl's heart beat and smell, she spoke up again and he almost startled at the sudden noise. Yet another problem with having enhanced senses, if you weren't ready for something loud, it'd hurt. The sudden switch made it harder for him to understand what people said, too, so he had to play back what she said in his head to understand it. Once he realized it was a question, he took a moment to think of the answer. "It's been just over two year now, I think. Got this job right before I turned 20." He took another moment to think of that, confirm it in his head, before smiling and nodding at the girl. "Hey, I don't think I caught your name."

She grinned at him, noticing a slight jump as she shyly bit into her bottom lip, ”I did not mean to startle you…”[/color] A gentle chuckle left her throat and emitted into the sound of the bar. She was now able to get a better look at him without always pulling him from her line of sight. Noah was an attractive young man, probably a little older than she should be. If not, close to the same age. The one thing that caught her off guard about him, was his eyes. Eyes always caught her off guard with people as it was the part of the human face that she loved the most. This man just so happened to have lovely eyes. She did not notice the color change in her cheeks or the rising in the temperature of them, as she found herself nervously clearing her throat and trying to catch herself. He confirmed already that they were similar in age, though she did not look it. Which made her feel a little less awkward in this moment, aside of her nervously fumbling around.
”Blake. My name is Blake.” A smile remained across her pale features and her eyes remained on him. She watched him as he tended to other patrons and would wait patiently as he would make his way back around to her. She sipped her drink in the meantime and would occasionally glance around the room. People were starting to flood in and were making themselves more known to the scene of the night. Right about now, she would have been at home, casting or making potions… Maybe drinking with friends…. Who were not humans. A hand pulled her from her thoughts as she found herself looking up to a man who seemed to be closer to his thirties than she or Noah was. He wiggled his brows at her and gave her a flirtatious wink. She swallowed and gave him a polite nod before turning her attention back to Noah.
”Looks like you’re gonna get a crowd here, tonight.” She grinned a bit and sipped her drink again. At this point, now she was keeping her drink a little closer to her frame. The guy who sat down beside her was beginning to give her the creeps as she could feel his eyes continuing to burn into her. This only made her more uncomfortable than she needed to. He was now trying his best to flirt with her and found herself looking at Noah in hopes that he would play along, had he caught this guy leaning onto her. She secretly placed a nice ring on her left ring finger and managed to grasp her glass with it and smiled at Noah, ”What time are you getting off work tonight, babe?” she asked and gave him an even sweeter smile than before. She had to make this look real, otherwise she was not going to get this guy off her back, ”The girls asked me out tonight and I promised you a date night.” The guy seemed a little surprised, but looked at Noah, confused.

Out of CharacterUnfortunately, Noah is too smart to be oblivious. Fortunately, he's not a good liar.
In CharacterHe gave a small chuckle of his own as she apologized for startling him, shrugging it off. "Oh don't worry about it, I was just thinking of something." He offered a weak smile, hoping she didn't pry for more information. Luckily, she didn't seem too intrigued, giving him time to answer her question. He had never really been that good at lying. He could spot lies pretty easily, even when he couldn't hear your heartbeat, but when it came to telling them, he just couldn't think of something to say. He noticed the girl's cheeks had reddened slightly, and he withheld a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Blake."
Enhanced senses weren't just good for knowing if someone was lying. You can figure out a lot of things about a person just by their sounds alone, let alone sounds and scent. Her scent was a little off, not quite like other humans. She smelled like roses, and at first, Noah had dismissed that as a perfume, but something seemed off about it now. Maybe she just put on a little too much. As for her sounds, he could hear her heartbeat increase just slightly as he moved around, serving the other patrons who were starting to come in droves. A sidelong glance showed that Blake was still looking at him, so the rise was probably because of him. He held back a small smile at the thought as he continued serving the other patrons.
He didn't miss the girl's small empty swallow as the man approached her, but he didn't act on it. Wasn't much his place to unless the man tried to drug her or kept bothering her too long. He moved to serve someone who'd sat two spots down from Blake, serving him a cocktail quickly. As soon as he was done, he'd turned his attention back to the blonde-haired girl. "Oh this crowd? This is nothing, it's almost always pretty busy at night." He offered a small shrug and addressed the man who'd sat next to Blake. "What can I get for you, sir?" He asked with a polite smile, before hurrying to put together the drink the man asked for.
Noah didn't miss the slight clink of the glass as the ring Blake had put on tapped it lightly. While surprising, he wasn't entirely sure he didn't just miss that before so he dismissed it. That was, until, she spoke up again, asking him when he got off. The tone of her voice had gone up slightly, and her heartbeat increased a lot. A curious look grew on his face but before he could reply to her question, she spoke up again. It took him a moment to put the lie together in his head. He took a couple moments too long to think of what to say, trying to hid the surprise he felt. "I get off pretty late tonight, someone canceled and now I have to close up." Not a lie, but it still took him a little too long to respond. If the man had been paying enough attention, he might have noticed the lie.
Noah gave a small glance at the man, now taking the time to tune into his heartbeat, his smell. Hopefully, even if he did catch the lie, he wouldn't call them on it. It wasn't common for someone to call a stranger out on a lie, so chances were good, but he still wanted to be ready in case he attempted anything.

It took Noah a bit; however, there was a glimpse of hope when she found Noah playing into her game. She tried to not make her hope and her desperation seem so obvious to the man beside her, but made everything known to the bartender who was now a mild acquaintance. She bit into her bottom lip and winked at Noah with an adoring look in her eye as she made one final attempt to put the game up, ”Drat… We haven’t gotten much time together, lately.” She reached across the bar and gently touched his hand, ”I miss you…” Blake was fairly well playing into the lie. She only wised that this guy would take the hint. That was when the bait was taken. He nervously looked between the two and whatever looks of caution Noah had given him, he was able to take them now. That was when Blake retracted her hand at a safe distance and switched the ring back to the original finger. Her green eyes watching the man move farther away before she averted her attention back up at Noah, “”I am so sorry about that…” she said softly before taking another sip of her drink. Her eyes looking away from Noah, ”That guy was giving me a funny feeling… and I did not want him to stick around long enough to make me even more… off.”
How do you explain to someone that you are a witch and can get a sense in people. Granted, she wasn’t reading Noah. There was no need to. His vibe seemed pretty level and safe. Which only made her smile a little more as she basked in the comfort of his personal feeling. Sounds intimate? Wrong. It means she was feeling his vibes to relax her own, if he could feel them. She was playing off his energy in an almost non magical way. She didn’t need to use magic on him – yet. So long as he doesn’t suddenly turn into some creep who wanted nothing more than to get into her pants. Blake bit into her bottom lip and found herself looking back up at Noah. She was about to speak before another patron caught his attention. A smile graced her lips as she went back to merely watching him. Noah seemed like a nice guy. Not that she was looking. Just making a simple observation. She sipped her drink a little more until it was gone. She was buzzed a little. Which made her body feel hot and her face began to turn red. Her hand began to fan her face a little before she looked at the various amounts of booze behind the bar and what beers were in the nozzles. She had truly never really come in here until tonight. It was a nice little place. The workers dressed nice it seemed and most everyone was pretty friendly, who worked here. Now, was time to maybe know one another a little more. Her lips then parted.
”Was this your first choice for a career?” A smile still painted across her face. Sure, it was small talk, but she wanted to know him a bit more. Things with him seemed strange; however, she was willing to break the ice barriers once they got there. She also wanted him to know that she wanted nothing more than to know him and maybe a potential friendship, should he seem to want a new friend. A couple bumped into her as they danced to the music that played. It must have been a night for them to have a little more entertainment than just talking to friends and drinking. As that couple was not the only couple dancing. She blinked a little and turned her attention back up to Noah.

Out of CharacterThis post feels a little weak so sorry in advanced. xP
In CharacterNoah felt out of his league in the lie, even though he still hadn't even lied yet. While Blake picked the lie up and ran with it, he had trouble even keeping up with her part of it, let alone doing it himself. He gave the girl a quick glance as she spoke up again, complaining about their lack of time together, but he barely caught the words enough to put them together. He was concentrating on the man a little more than he thought he'd been, getting his scent and heartbeat well. When Blake touched his hand, he pulled back, startled, before he'd realized what had happened. He gave a quick apology, reaching his hand out again.
Noah was surprised that the man bought the lie, especially with his startled reaction. He thought, for a moment, that he may have been giving the man a mean look as he was concentrating. He had been concentrating enough that Blake's movements didn't alert him to her reaching for him at the time. He gave a small sigh as he left, almost deflating as he did. After offering a small laugh he shook his head lightly. "Hey, don't worry about it. It actually happens more than you'd think."
Noah reached up and rubbed his head lightly, a dull ache now pushing through it. He didn't usually get a headache that quick from using his senses, so he figured it was probably just because he also had some extra adrenaline from the lie. "Yea, he seemed like he might be trouble." He took a small breath before he moved on to serve the other patrons who'd quickly filled up the bar. His face must have also reddened, he noticed as the other patrons seemed to notice it too. It took him a couple of minutes to catch the rest of the patrons up on their drinks before he could give his attention back to Blake.
He went and stood back in front of her, taking a quick glance at her empty cup. After pushing the cup slightly he looked up at the girl. "You want another?" Even as he asked, he brought the cup behind the bar, moving it closer to the sink. He took another deep breath, trying to urge his body calm, hoping the adrenaline effect would die down soon. He took a moment to look around the pub, trying to shut out the smells and sounds and focus wholly on his sight. That should help too, at very least it would ease his headache.
He turned his attention back to Blake as she spoke up again, asking him about his career choices. He thought back, for a moment, to his first few jobs, when he'd been working for some shady people. While he hadn't fantasized about working as a bartender back then, it was definitely better than the other jobs, and he actually managed to make a decent amount of money doing it.
"It wasn't my first choice, originally, but now I think it would be, yea." He gave a small smile, taking another look around the pub. It had it's problems a lot, but it was a good enough place he could seem himself working there for a long while. He focused on Blake again, the smile still on his face. "What about you, what do you do?" He asked right before the couple bumped into her, taking her attention to the rest of the pub. He took the moment to look up to, looking for any trouble that may be happening out in the restaurant area.
While he was mostly just supposed to be behind the bar, they were short staffed today, so he may have to take some orders out of the bar. It wasn't likely that he would, since the bar was already so busy, but it was still good to double check. Nothing seemed to be out of the rest of the staff's hand, so he turned his attention to the girl once more.

She looked up at Noah and smiled some. A light playful chuckle emitting from her as she found herself nodding softly to his asking her if she would like another. She probably should watch herself. These were strong. No better than a long island. But as long as she sipped it, rather than chugging it, she should be okay. Her eyes remained on the ice in her now empty glass as the young couple began to talk, ”I am a nurse at the local hospital.” she said softly, already forgetting about the creepy man who did not know how to take a hint. Her eyes managed to look back up at Noah. His vibes were slowly beginning to change. But she kept it to herself. He was more alert than a regular human and he seemed a little more cautious, now thinking back to how he reacted to her touching his hand. It was like scaring her cat, almost. But she would not let it bother her, physically. She would allow it to be a mere mental note in the back of her head, where she might ponder about it later, or even forget about it.
Once her drink was handed back to her in a clean glass, she began to sip the liquid. Her eyes following his before she managed to speak up, ”If you need help, I would be more than happy to lend a hand. I do not need to be paid.” she said softly and found her eyes looking up at him with a slight smile. Her face was turning red again. It had to be the alcohol. Her body seemed warm and her body was beginning to loosen up, versus how tense she was when she first walked into the pub. Thank goodness someone was around her to watch over her a little. His vibe still remained pure and even trust worthy. She stood a bit from the stool and stumbled a bit. An effect of the booze that she was ingesting. She began to rub between her eyes and allowed her eyes to follow around to the bathroom, where she parted ways with him for a little. Once in a safe place, knowing she was not with company, she began to splash water on her face. Trying to naturally sober herself up a little and avoid the fact that she could use magic. She only needed a moment or two to herself as she began to breath deeply; now trying to bring her focus onto herself in this moment, ”Calm down, Blake…” She muttered to herself. After several moments, she found herself stumbling out of the bathroom, looking back out at the bar. Suddenly a hand clasped over her mouth and she began to feel herself pulled back.
It was that strange man. He was mumbling things about how he knew they were not together, with how nervous Noah seemed. Blake fought against him and tried her best to make noises, stomp her foot, muffled screaming. Anything. This was all too easy for this gentleman. She was under the influence and was already feeling weak. She continued to fight and make muffled shrieks. With the loud noises of the bar, she knew now that it was almost too hard for her to be heard. Then her instincts took over. Before he could attack, she managed to bite his hand and he shoved her aggressively to the ground, after quickly cursing. Then he began to force himself on her as she tried to come to her senses. A hand mad its way to his chest. A light came from her hand, sending the man into the air and crashing into the wall behind him. The witch struggled to her feet and quickly left the hall. She knew that there were people who heard this, as people were staring at her. Even checking to see what had happened.
“She sent him through the wall?!” That’s what some of the people were saying. She said nothing to Noah. Not even eye contact. She put too much money down on the bar and began to hurry her way out the door. Unaware that, that man was now getting up onto his feet and stumbling his way down the hall, eyes on a target.

Out of CharacterOh yes drama, this is what I live for.
In CharacterNoah made the drink much faster than he had the first time. Before, he had some extra time to show off, but with the crowd here now, he didn't have much time to make any drink. He gave a small nod as she answered his question, and he made a mental note of that. He also made a note that she was already buzzed, so he might need to watch her a little closer, whether it be watching how much she drank or watching her in case everyone else knew she was drunk.
He gave a wide smile as she offered to help around the pub. "Oh no, I could never ask you to do that. Thanks you, though." He spoke up quickly, and though he wished he could have accepted her help, there's no way management would be happy with him having a drunk customer helping with orders. He turned away for a second, helping another person at the bar, refilling a shot glass for them. He was then pulled through a whole line of patrons, all asking for refills or food. He kept up pretty well for how busy it was, but this was a normal routine of his. By the time he'd gone back to talk to Blake, she had already stood up and begun making her way over to the bathroom.
He gave a small shrug to himself before going back to his bartending. There was a lot of food coming out of the kitchen, a lot of drinks being drunk and ordered, and a lot of people asking for his attention at the same time. Even though this was a lot more hectic than what it was before, he felt a lot calmer than earlier. His adrenaline had either worn off, or it was being used sufficiently enough that he didn't feel it as bad now.
After a few minutes of the girl being gone he took a deep breath, tuning into his hearing again. It made his head throb almost immediately, with all of the noises in the pub right now, but it would be good practice for if he ever found himself in a situation he would need it. He'd probably never need it, but might as well practice just in case.
It wasn't long after that when he heard the bathroom door open again, and focusing, he could pull out the faint heart beat and the specific click of Blake's boots against the floor. He smiled to himself, happy that she was at least okay. The smile faded quickly though, as he heard the man from before near her. He caught some of what he mumbled, but it was hard for him to pick out what he said from so far away in a loud room. He fought to keep a straight face and continue his duties until he managed to get the attention of one of his coworkers. "Can you watch the bar for just one second please, Kenzie?" The other worker gave a stressed huff, but agreed, quickly moving to take his place. "Thank you. I'll be back in just one second."
By the time he got to the other side of the bar, Blake was already moving out of the building. He didn't know how she escaped, missed it while he was talking with his coworker, probably. He did know, however, that the man was already going after her. He took a step to block his path, offering a light smile. "Wow dude, slow down. Why don't you sit down and have another drink, on me."

It was easy to buy the man off. Her was already drunk and stumbling. Though it seemed to only calm him for now, who knew what else might be turning through his head? Blake was already out the door and making sure she would not be around to feel his angered wrath. It seemed as though he was already annoyed by her antics to get away. That was at least good for her. At least nobody – not even him knew what she did to get him away from her. She wished Raffe was here. He was the only one who seemed to understand even the slightest of her being a witch as he grew with her. He was the last remaining piece of what was left of her former life before she gave up her family. El was already gone and knew in her heart that Raffe was gone as well. She only wished he was around her.
Her boots hit the ground as she hurried to her car. She would not drive. She knew better. She also knew she could handle driving, so long as she used her magic. But with too many people around, she refused to use even a lick of it. There were too many people around and the accident in the back hall of the pub could have been played off as if she shoved herself into him and fell through that thin wall with him. Or so… he went through it like it was nothing. Sometimes she didn’t know how powerful she could actually be. It was something that escaped her quite often. Her eyes narrowed as she pushed her back against her SUV and rested against it with a deep sigh. Her hands running down her face as she tried to focus a little. It was obvious she was still not yet sober. She only wished she was now at this point to make things a little easier on her. She suddenly heard voices coming out of the bar. Unsure of who or what they were, she ducked out of sight by her SUV. Listening for someone to bring her up. Mostly if any of them were the crazy guy who had been trying to hit on her. This was only hope that he would not be out there. But once the people got into their respective vehicles and pulled away, she was now fully aware that the man from inside was not coming out.
She pulled a pack of cigarettes from her pocket and lit a cigarette and closed her pale eyes as she tried to feel herself sober up. Lightly dancing where she stood to shake off the anxiety. If only it was more simple. This only seemed to make it worse from time to time. As she was right now, she was an anxious cannon waiting to go off. Suddenly, the door to the pub opened. She jumped, jolting her hand back into a ready fight position that held a bright white ball of energy in her hand that was not there before.

Out of CharacterI'm learning so much about bartending and how animals smell because of Noah. My library of useless facts is growing.
In CharacterWhen the man seemed to calm down, so did Noah, seeming to deflate once again. He lead the man back to the bar, looking towards the door. However much he wanted to go after Blake, it was far too busy for him to just disappear. Besides, she managed to get the guy off of her somehow. Plus it was main street at the beginning of the night, there would be enough people around that no one should attack her. He gave a small smile to his coworker, patting her shoulder to take his position at the bar again.
The man sat at the bar, the same spot Blake had been sitting in not too long ago. Before he even asked what drink the man wanted, Noah realized that the girl had left her coat on the stool. He reached over the bar, snatching the coat quickly, pulling it over to his side. With another glance towards the door, he gave a sigh. It was too busy to chase after her, so she'd have to just come get the coat herself when she realized she'd left it. Quickly shoving the coat between a few sealed bottles, he looked back to the man, offering him a smile. "Pick your poison." Even as he spoke, he was gathering the bottles to make what the man had ordered before.
Internally sighing as he poured the man's drink, Noah worked to push the thought of the girl out from his head. He barely even knew her, but he still felt bad for not going after her. She was drunk enough that she probably couldn't drive, and she left an absurd tip for what she had to drink. It didn't take long for him to get caught up in his work, with the number of people filling up the bar, especially since being down a few workers meant he also had to make a lot of the drinks for the restaurant side too.
The man who'd attacked Blake downed his next drink way too quickly, ordering another one soon after. He'd been mumbling something about Blake, obviously upset that she'd escaped. Noah took a deep breath, focusing on the man's mumbling, but none of it seemed to indicate that he'd be able to find the girl and pay her back, even though he seemed to want to. Relieved, he tuned out his hearing again, focusing wholly on keeping up with the ever-growing line of drinks to make.
Not even five minutes later, the man asked Noah for yet another drink. The man was starting to get seriously drunk, and another drink would definitely make sure he wouldn't remember the night well, but it wasn't really Noah's job to keep track of how much someone drank, so he poured the drink anyways. He hadn't even finished making the next patron's drink before the man finished that one. By the time he'd finished making the drink, the man had slapped some money on the table and began a stumbling walk to the exit of the pub.
The man yanked the door open, causing a huge rush of the outside air to filter into the bar quickly. The rush of air was sudden enough that he couldn't filter out the scents in time, making his head throb again. He withheld a grunt of pain, instead electing to rub his head lightly, as if he could rub the pain away. After a few moments, he realized he could smell roses not too far from outside the pub, which was unfortunate for him because he knew for a fact that there weren't roses that close to the pub. It took him a moment, with the door still closing softly on it's spring, he could follow the scent back, confirming to him the Blake was definitely still out there.
He offered the patron's a small smile, telling them that he'd be back in just one moment, before heading to the door himself. He wasn't much of a fighter, but he was definitely stronger than he looked. Plus, hopefully, just the presence of someone would deter the man from trying anything.

No sooner had the pub door closed behind Noah, the man who was out to get after the witch was approaching her in a drunken manner. Blake on the other hand did not care about the magic that rested in her hand as she cautiously began to move her body like a threatened animal ready to strike. The white ball of energy still in her hand, hovering above her fingers, ”Back.. off…” The petite girl whimpered. Not wanting to attack the man. He didn’t seem to care that she was holding an orb of energy that ‘couldn’t possibly exist’. But it did. The air outside was so cold that she could see her breathe fly from her lips and disappear into the evening. This was the downfall to being a female witch who seemed to be shorter than the average person. Only because she was about 5’2”. It also seemed to not bother other people that she was considered ‘cute’. Which made it easy for her to be a target, unfortunate for the other party as she always had a trick or two up her sleeve. But this guy did not know how to let up. It left a very obvious impression that his intention was to do more harm than good when it came to her.
She knew she needed to do something quick. Her magic was beginning to drain and at the beginning of that, she could feel it, as it was no different than having a minor spell of dizziness to an average human. She shook her head to make sure not to be in its grasp, ”I SAID, GET AWAY!!!” she shrieked and looked up to see Noah. She now revealed a little bit of her secret to someone she did not know. She cursed under her breathe and closed her eyes, only to reopen them as the man cursed at her. Calling her appalling names, one of which was ‘whore’. She flinched at the name calling and felt the words dig deep. She knew he was drunk, but words could never be taken back. This guy was not willing to leave her without either getting what he wanted, or worse. She would just have to handle this without the help of the bartender. It was already clear that she had a little more of an upper hand here. But the tender forced her to drop her face only a little as he seemed to have had some small effect on her. She felt the orb vanish and her stance began to change as she felt herself stand up more erect for a moment, but not before that man had collided with her, yelling insanely.
Blake hit the cold ground with a thud and began to grunt and shriek as she began to fight him off her. It was in that moment she decided to use an ability of her own, pressing the palm of her hand to his face. A glow filled that palm with light as the man began to shriek. Suddenly, he backed off her and touched his face which had burns on them that came from her palm. Blake struggled into the sitting position and glared only to feel her pupils dilate to almost completely take over her iris as she gave a quick nod of her head and found an invisible wave of energy being sent to this strange drunk. Knocking him back into the air and further away into the parking lot. As if something had hit him that could not be seen. Blake struggled to her feet and found her gaze on Noah. She stared at him for a little bit and found herself gesturing in confusion. Wanting him to say something. Anything at all. As she did not know where to begin explaining herself. Her hands, in a fluster, covered her face and began to run down her portrait. Unsure of where she should even begin this.

In CharacterUnfortunately, Noah realized, the man was particularly drunk. Even less fortunate, he was a violent drunk with a target in mind. He'd never really been in a real fight, usually electing to run rather than fight. That wasn't to say he couldn't fight, he just figured it was safer for him to escape, especially since he wanted minimal risk to his secret being discovered. He gave a heavy sigh, making his decision as the drunk made his drunken approach towards Blake.
As he started his way forward, he tuned into his hearing again. He had learned a long time ago that advanced hearing actually helped in a lot more ways than you would think. Not because you could really hear how the other person would move, but more because you could observe the environment without taking your eyes off your enemy. Smell, on the other hand, didn't do much for that. With such an acute sense of smell, using it while trying to track hearing and sight caused a lot of distraction and gave very little in return. It was basically like white noise, but for the nose.
It took him less than a step to realize there was something wrong with what he was hearing. From his spot, he couldn't see most of Blake, but he could hear something in her hand, and it made enough noise that he could tell that she was in a fighting stance. The noise was weird, it wasn't something any regular weapon would make. In fact, it wasn't a sound he'd ever really heard before in his life. He stopped in his tracks as he started examining the sound, then started examining what he could see. Then he noticed that there was just a little too much light coming from the girl, but it didn't flicker like a fire.
Smell might be too much noise to fight with, but he wasn't so sure this girl needed help fighting anymore, so as he stood there, watching the man approach her, he tuned into his sense of smell. Nothing, he realized. Whatever she was holding didn't have a smell, and things that glowed always smelled like something. Fire's smelled like smoke, even with light bulbs you could smell the wire slowly burning. He thought for a moment that it might be a phone, but then he realized that it wasn't even tangible. The sound waves it made traveled through themselves in all directions. Whatever she was holding, it wasn't natural. As things started to clicking together in his head, the dull ache that had just been there disappeared.
Just as things started to click, though, Blake screamed, and it made him concentrate on the attacker again. Maybe the light wasn't a weapon, but he couldn't really think of what it could be. Broken from his thought process, Noah moved forward again, not only to approach the man, just in case Blake needed help, but also to get his eyes on whatever the light was. Just as he could see the light, it was gone. That was the rest of the proof he had needed. The girl didn't need to move to make the light disappear, and wherever it had gone, it'd done so completely silently. Convinced that the girl was something much more than what she seemed, he stopped moving once again.
He wasn't really a sadistic person, he didn't want to really see either the man or Blake get hurt, but he did want to see what Blake did, how she dealt with a man so much bigger and physically stronger than her. If what he thought was true, then that would mean he's finally met someone closer to what he was than anyone else he'd met. If she were different, too, that means she might have answers for him, answers he'd been searching for almost seven years. Fighting the urge to flinch as the two hit the ground hard, he watched Blake thrash. She took just a moment too long to fight back, and Noah almost stepped in to help her. But just as he decided to, the girl seemed to decide to fight back on her own. He watched with intent as the palm of her hand, pressed against the man's face, lit up with the same glow it had only moments ago. It didn't take long for the man to start screaming and back away from Blake. The shifter also took a step back, getting out of the man's way and standing more to the side of the girl than before. He could smell the man's burnt flesh, and could make out the burn left on his skin. Noah turned his attention back to Blake, who was just pulling herself into a sitting position. Not even a second after she'd pulled herself up did she give a nod in the direction of the man. Not even a second after that, he could hear something akin to a very strong wind blow against the ground and right into the man, knocking him off his feet and a few feet further into the parking lot. The man, after finding his feet, took one last horrified look towards Noah and Blake, before sprinting away from them.
He let his gaze linger on the man running away for a moment, before facing the girl. Pieces were fitting together in his head. Whatever she was, it definitely wasn't entirely human. He barely even noticed Blake staring at him, waiting to see his reaction. While his face wasn't exactly blank, it wasn't exactly surprised either, he seemed more focused than anything else. After a few moments of thinking, he finally realized the girl's desperation for him to respond. Noah stared at her for a few more moments, trying to find the right words himself. He opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted by someone exiting the pub, calling his name. In the rush of finding someone else who was different, he'd forgotten all about his job.
"I live at River Wood. Second floor, room 221. I'll be there by 2:30. We can talk then." He didn't wait to see or hear Blake's response, breaking into a light jog on his way back to the pub.
