God, was Loki ever annoying. If it wasn’t for this little trip Guillotine wouldn't mind shutting him up. Loki went on and on as they walked along to the butcher shop. Gil had to put his hands into his pockets just to keep him from hitting the smaller shifter. The little male was only trying to help the stubborn hellhound, but Gil didn’t appear to be getting the point. As usual, the hound would think that he was right, and maybe one day he would understand what Loki was trying to tell him. Luckily for Loki, Gil remained relatively quiet throughout their journey.
Once they made it to the building Gil looked back at his companion, wondering if he could make all this work. Loki had mentioned before that he was a great thief. The hellhound stayed back as the smaller male made his way over to the front of the store and looked around. He remained quiet as Loki surveyed the area, and accessed the severity of this little hunt. When the cat spoke up Guillotine appeared to breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe he will get his steaks after all? Loki mentioned everything looked good so far. Hopefully it would remain that way, or else the world would be losing a master thief to Gil’s jaws. Guillotine then watched as Loki pointed out the alarm system. The young hellhound knew nothing of alarms, or how they worked. The shifter did break down the basics for him, but even that went over Guillotine’s head.
When Loki peered inside again he mentioned that there was someone still in there. The hair on the back of Guillotine’s neck began to stand on end. There was no way someone was going to stop him from getting his steak! He trotted over by Loki’s side and looked in through the window. The little shifter was right, there was someone back there. Oh, if only Gil was still a free man. He could walk in there and snap the human’s neck. But, alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Gil’s dark thoughts came to a halt when Loki spoke, telling him to stay put. Usually, the hound would refrain from taking orders from people he felt were below him. But, in this instance, he figured it was for the best. The hound gave Loki a nod. He was going to go inside and tamper with the alarm.
God, this was taking forever. The hound sat there with his face childishly mushed against the glass as he waited for Loki. To his dismay, the human that had been in the back began to work his way towards the front door. Guillotine scrambled to the side of the building before the man could see him. With his back firmly pressed against the wall, the young hound could hear the door open, and lock before the human made his way down to his car. Once the coast was clear, Gil made his way back over to the front of the shop to wait for Loki.
A few minutes had ticked by and The hellhound had turned his back to the glass by now. It was taking the little shifter too damn long to do all this, then again, Gil wasn’t the most patient person in the world. Nor did he really have a great sense of time. With his back to the glass Gil was about to start yelling when the front door opened. The hound nearly jumped out of his skin when Loki poked his head through the door. “D-Damn it, Kid! You nearly scared me half to dea-” He barked, the hound the stopped. Realizing it was almost dinner time. “Well, it took you long enough.” He cooed getting up and wondering over to the door before walking inside.
Oh, it smelled so good inside of the building. Gil’s nose could pick up on the meat in the back. He slowly turned his head to the alarm and smirked, maybe he had underestimated Loki? The little male hadn’t been fibbing before. “Do you remember what I said about the freezer? I can’t go in there.” Guillotine mentioned as he turned from alarm and back to Loki. The hound then thought about it for a moment. Maybe a quick second wouldn’t be so bad. “N-Nevermind…” He said as he made his way to the back. The hound made his way to the freezer, but before he could even lay a hand on the door he stopped. The beast could feel the cool air crept up from behind the door, despite it being sealed tight. His body knew not to go through with this, but his mind thought otherwise. “H-Hey Loki, care to give me a hand?” The hound asked. “I need the door open.”

Now came the waiting game. Once Loki made his way inside he knew that only half the battle was over. The other half of this challenge was to wait out the old man while not getting caught. Waiting around for the perfect opportunity was just another part of his former job that he had to deal with on a normal basis. Patience was very important to a thief. Knowing who to strike, and at what moment to strike could mean the difference between life and death. He experienced that first hand when he started, over time he had gotten better at the waiting stage. Occasionally he did screw up, but those screw ups were few and far between. Tonight was not going to be one of those nights. Tonight he would take extra care not to get caught. This was important after all, he was being dragged back into the thieving business one more time to save his own skin. He would wait the old man out, give himself enough time after the human left the shop, before he got to work on the alarm. He could only hope that no outside influence would screw up his plans.
That possible outside influence being Guillotine of course. Loki couldn't say with great confidence that he knew all there was to know about the hellhound, but his previous encounters had taught him well enough to know that the bastard wasn't the most patient type. Gil wasn't the type of man to think things through unless prompted to. He was a man of desire. If he desired something he would act to obtain it. If he was hungry, he'd sink his jaws into the nearest living thing, if he was mad he wouldn't hesitate to strike out at whatever angered him, hell, Loki was sure that if the damn mutt ever got horny he would probably hump the first thing he saw. Guillotine didn't seem like the kind of guy that would take the waiting aspect to this break in well. How long did he have until Guillotine just stormed into the building and wring his neck? Loki shuddered at the thought but he didn't risk making a move out of fear. If Gil got upset he'd deal with it then, there was no need to screw up just because he was worried.
It took awhile but eventually Loki's moment came. He could hear the old man close up the shop and leave. He stayed still awhile longer just to be sure that nothing out of the blue would happen before he made his way to the front. He could see Gil leaning against the glass of the building, looking as shady as ever. The boy shook his head at the sight but turned his attention on the alarm. The sooner he got this over with the better. With a bit of effort Loki was able to disable the alarm. With a smile the boy opened the door and invited the hellhound inside, causing the much larger male to jump in surprise. Loki couldn't help but laugh at the look on Gil's face, the boy's smile turned into a sly little grin. “I'm sorry, did this little kitty cat scare the big bad doggy? You must be embarrassed now~” Loki purred as he held the door open for Gil to walk in. At least Gil was somewhat amusing, that made what he was doing now a little easier to handle. Poking and teasing the hound from time to time took away from the tension of the situation.
What Guillotine said next didn't surprise him in the least. Loki rolled his eyes as the hellhound whined about him taking too long. “Good things come to those who wait Gilly. If I didn't wait the old man out this whole break in would be ten times more complicated. Good thieves don't get caught in the act, I wasn't about to risk getting caught for a few steaks.” Loki watched as Gil took a good sniff around the shop. Boy was he glad that Guillotine was sniffing something that wasn't him for a change. Now that they were inside it was a good idea to get this over with fast, before Gil changed his mind about just having some steak. Gil seemed to be thinking the same thing, it didn't take the male long to mention the freezer. “Yeah, yeah, I remember.” the boy replied. Why couldn't he go in the freezer? It didn't take a genius to figure that out. If Loki hadn't seen what Gil really looked like he would have been at a loss. “Let me guess, you aren't a big fan of cold places are you? That's no surprise. Last time I checked scales aren't that great at keeping you warm.” It was a bit surprising that it would effect him even in his human form. Loki would have thought having a bit of hair would help make the problem a little easier to handle. Then again just because Gil was in his human form didn't mean that some of his hellhound traits didn't cross over. Loki's own feline nature slipped out when he was human too, from his eyes, his sharp senses, all the way down to his habits he was always a cat. So Gil had to still be a hellhound too.
Loki followed Guillotine into the backroom when the hellhound suddenly changed his mind. Loki looked up at the man, looking both a little confused and slightly worried. “Are you sure about that? There is no shame in admitting that you can't do it.” Gil seemed way too nervous about the whole freezer situation to be just a little uncomfortable about it. Should he let him do it? Loki watched as Gil tried to put his hand on the freezer door and failed. He hesitated at first when Gil asked him to open the door for him. Loki sighed, “If you can't open the door on your own do you really think you can step in there to get what you want?” Loki opened the door despite his words. There was no use refusing this request, but he could at least council against it. “Its not too late to just ask me to go in there to get it, a few seconds of cold air won't kill me. My body is probably warmer than most of the humans that work here, so if it doesn't bother them it won't bother me.”

Maybe this little trip was more trouble than Gil had hoped for. When he stood outside after the human had left that did run through his mind for a brief moment, until Loki opened the door. The smaller shifter had made him jump, and judging by the look on his face, Loki appeared to have enjoyed this little scare. The male went on to tease him, and Gil wasn’t having any of it. He rolled his eyes like a sassy teen and scoffed. “Oh, shut up!” He barked, walking over to the door. “I-I had something in my eye. T-that's all!” This was a stupid excuse, but one Gil would make. The beast then made his way inside. Though, Gil would never admit it, Loki was quite the thief. Guillotine had observed what he did to the alarm and was quite impressed. The hound had begun to wonder if he was ever a pick pocket. He could recall his own mate having such a lifestyle. It was a rough and dangerous life from what he understood. Gil had never been in such a position.
Soon Loki began to reply to his comment. There he went again. Not only was his voice annoying the larger canine, but his words of his didn'texactly help. “Good things comes to those who wait, huh?” The hound replied in a snippy tone. “That's bullshit.” Suppose Loki did have a point? Getting caught over a few steaks did seem like a silly. Regardless, the hound would shrug it off. “Yeah. Whatever.” After using his sensitive nose to sniff around the place, Gil had made his way over to the freezer. Just getting anywhere near the damn thing caused his body to grow tense. The coolness of the air inside chilled him to his core. It was a real shame he was a hellhound that did not have the ability to warm himself once he got too cold. Being reptilian-like, Guillotine did managed to gain their cold blooded nature. This made ventures like his exceptionally difficult for the young hellhound. When Loki spoke again Gil didn’t seem as irritated this time around. The canine seemed more focused on the freezer than anything else. Loki was right about one thing. Scales didn’t hold in heat at all. “If I get too cold I can’t warm myself back up.” Guillotine said as he turned to Loki. He was throwing one of his weakness out there for a steak, and he hoped this little shifter wasn’t going to do anything to hurt him. It would be a shame if he were to be pushed into the freezer and left to die. Though, really, Loki didn’t seem like the type of guy to pull such a stunt. God, Gil hoped he wasn’t about to do something he would come to regret.
With steaks just behind the freezer door Gil began to get greedy. He wanted them then and there. Guillotine took in a deep breath. He then swallowed hard. “Y-Yeah, I’m sure.” The hound then turned to his company when Loki mentioned something very important. If he couldn't open the door then how could he go into the freezer? This was a point Gil had overlooked. Suppose his hunger was getting in the way of his thoughts? This was a possibility. “Y-You’re right.” Whether it be from the cold, or hunger, Gil did not know. But, for once he was agreeing with Loki. The little shifter then mentioned that he was just as warm as any human and would go into the freezer for him. Gil gave the smaller male a pat on the head. “You can go in and I’ll wait out here.” Even with the door closed, Gil could still feel the cool air gripping his body. He was starting ot get too cold, but he would try his damnedest not to show it.

Loki had been in for a little treat when he finally opened the door to let Gil inside. Loki hadn't intended to scare the young hellhound out of his wits when he did what he did, but he could hardly say that he didn't throughly enjoy doing so when he did. For all his tough guy act Gil was easy to unnerve, almost too easy. Gil's reaction made the little shifter smile, his response sent the boy into a fit of laughter. Seriously? Out of all the lame excuses to use he went with that one? “Sure, you had something in your eye...if that is true then I am the king of New Orlands.” the boy joked. Well, if he had to be technical he did happen to be the son of a ruler, but that was in another world, a world he was no longer a part of and would rather forget. The boy continued to tease the larger hellhound about the whole mess and about his patience. Just as he thought, dear old Guillotine hear was not the patient type. The way he acted all bent out of shape just because he had to wait a few minutes before being let in gave that away.
God how Loki longed to just smack Gil upside the head for being so stupid. Too bad he couldn't do just that. Gil was much too tall for Loki to even reach his head even if he stood on his tippy toes. He knew better than to risk that even if he could manage to reach him. Instead Loki tried to instill some tidbit of wisdom in the other male, for all the good that did him. The boy had to wonder if the hellhound was just immature or plain stupid at this point. Perhaps it was just immaturity? Though Loki clearly looked like the younger male between them he was by far the most mature. That wasn't saying a lot of course, Loki was by no means the most mature shapeshifter for his age. In a lot of ways he was still a child, he was naive, childish at times, and somehow still innocent despite his past. But he learned enough from his experiences to say he grew a little, but what about Guillotine? It looked like Gil had a lot of growing up to do despite his looks, and at the rate he was going now he wasn't going to grow up any time soon. “Bitch all you want pup but that's the truth. Especially for thieves. Take it from someone with experience, smart people learn how to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. Doing so helps significantly reduce the chances of failure. The few times I rushed things were the times I got caught.” Hell he wouldn't be with Azazel now if he had not thrown his own caution out the window in desperation. In the end that played out in his favor, but Loki knew better than to expect that to happen in this scenario.
As usual Guillotine didn't seem to be listening to him. The male looked more annoyed if anything else. Loki just shook his head and let Gil go about his business. Gil was too much like a spoiled, headstrong, little kid to ever listen to any piece of genuine advice from anyone. The only way he would ever learn anything if he could at all was the hard way. Loki could only hope that he didn't end up getting harmed in the process of that lesson someday. Gil's stupidity was Gil's own problem, and one that had to be dealt with another day. Right now the most important thing to do was get this whole steak heist over with. Loki followed Gil into the back to get the steaks when an unusual problem sprung up...the freezer.
Loki never thought that the freezer would be a problem in this case until he saw how uncomfortable Gil had become once they got near it. It was a lot more than just a simple discomfort, Gil seemed almost scared of the damn thing. It didn't take long for Loki to figure out why. Gil couldn't handle the cold. He was cold blooded by nature. Loki knew enough about cold blooded animals to know that they were more vulnerable to the cold than someone like him. Even in Gil's human form a trip in this big freezer would effect him more than it would for this little shifter. It didn't help that Gil had less clothes than Loki did either. Gil looked like he had just came out of bed, he wasn't prepared for this. Yet the fool wanted to go in there himself. What compelled Gil to try and act like the big man here Loki didn't know, but he had to do something about it. He did his best to talk Gil out of it, but as usual the hellhound ignored his words. That was, until he came to the door. The moment that he had to ask Loki to open the door for him he realized just how stupid he was being. Boy, it must have taken a lot for Gil to admit he was wrong for once. The big beast finally cave in and asked Loki for help, he even gave him a little pet on the head when he did.
God, Loki wished that he hadn't done that. Since the boy started living with Azazel he was starting to get used to being petted a lot. It was a weird thing to handle at first, he was so unaccustomed to that display of affection. He didn't like to admit that he liked it either. He always told Azazel to quit touching him when he did, but he couldn't help but purr every time it happened. Now that someone else was treating him the same way he still couldn't hold back the loud purr that rose out of him. Loki quickly took a step away from Gil's touch. There was no way in hell he wanted Gil to know about this embarrassing weak point of his. It was probably too late to cover it now. “Yeah, I'm on it...” the boy quickly turned away from Gil and stepped into the freezer, hoping against hope that Gil wouldn't notice the faint blush on his face that had crept up on him when he caught himself purring. Loki tried to push back his embarrassment to focus on the task at hand, the steaks.
There were plenty of steaks in here of course, but Loki wasn't about to grab just any old chunk of meat. Since he took the effort to break into this place he might as well get the good stuff right? After a bit of searching he found what he was looking for, high grade quality meat. It was pretty big too. The only problem was they were up a little high. “Well I got good news and bad news for you.” Loki called out to Gil. “I found some nice and big juicy looking steaks, but whoever stocked the freezer thought it would be a great idea to put them up on the higher shelves." Loki eyed the shelves closely, should he dare risk climbing the shelves to get to it? Maybe he didn't have to. There had to be something around the shop that he could use to help lift him up. “I need something to climb up on to get them, do you see a ladder, stool, or chair I can climb up on out there?”

Loki just had to bring up the eye thing didn’t he? Guillotine felt a bit embarrassed as he wandered into the shop, but said nothing more on the subject in an attempt to get his company to forget about it. Loki wasn’t finished with his explaining, even as they were inside. The hound could help but to feel a tad annoyed, but he would suck it up and deal with this for the time being, just so he could get his steak. “The things I do…” The hound grumbled to himself. Though Loki did have a point. This feline was smarter than Gil had given him credit for. But being the hound that he was, he wouldn’t listen to a damn word the shifter said. Gil was like a brick wall in some ways, it was useless to feed him information because it would go through one ear and out the other. One day, Guillotine would grow up and perhaps not be as dense as he was now. But, for the time being he was still a pup, learning the ways of the world through his own ignorance. As the two stood inside Guil couldn’t help but to give Loki a pat on the head. The shifter deserved some kind of praise. The reaction Gil got from this was something he didn’t expect, though with Loki being a cat he should have taken the tiny male’s species into consideration.
Gil cocked an eyebrow as Loki began to purr from his touch. The tiny male had taken a step away from him before running off, looking a bit embarrassed. Gil thought he had caught a blush but he wasn’t about to dive into that. It felt a little strange. The tall hound stood there for a moment, feeling a tad bit awkward. His blood red eyes slowly shifter back to their natural green color as he looked down at his hand and frowned. Memories of his mate poured into his head. Akeelah used to purr like that. Her happy purrs would always make him smile. Whenever they slept together he could recall her purring in her sleep. Suppose all felines do, but this particular moment he couldn't help but to think of her. Gil was broken from his thoughts when Loki called out to him. The tiny shifter had found the glorious steaks, the only problem was getting to them. Loki informed Gil that he needed a ladder of some kind, and he wanted him to go find one. While Gil wasn’t the type to take orders from people below him, he was going to listen to this one for once, just because he was going to get something out of it. So off the male went.
It was a lot harder to find a step stood than Gil had originally thought. This human that owned the store was by far the messiest. He wasn’t like his old boss Akhtar, who kept his belongings neat and in a proper place. This human had stuff everywhere. It was rather difficult for Gil to find a ladder. Suppose this male didn’t have one? Upon looking around Gil managed to come upon a step stool. He wandered over to it and picked it up. Suppose this should work? A large stupid grin soon light up Gil’s face. Certainly it would do the job! The hound happily wandered back over to the freezer before stopping at it’s threshold. He peered inside, looking a bit intimidated. “Come on Guillotine...you can do this.” He mumbled to himself before finally crossing over into the freezer.
It didn’t happen instantly. The feeling crept up on Gil. The cold slowly worked its way up from his extremities and into his body. It was rather cold in the freezer, Gil should have known better than to enter it. Regardless, he would walk into the freezer with a small step stool in hand. He placed it next to Loki before pulling his arms around himself and finally started to shiver. “W-W-Will you H-Hurry.” The beast growled, as he began to made his way out of the freezer and back into the backroom. Once in the backroom of the butcher shop, Gil stood there for a moment, his body began to grow a bit weak. His lips had begun to turn a bit blue. Guillotine leaned his back against the wall and slowly sank to the ground. He was cold, that freezer chilled him right to his core. The beast put his hands in front of him and rubbed them together to try to generate a little heat. His hands were a bit warmer than they were before, but not by much, and it didn’t exactly help the rest of his body. Guillotine cursed to himself. He hated the idea of asking Loki for help, but at the time he appeared to be a good idea. Slowly shaking his head, the hound attempted to get up, only to weakly slide back to the ground. “S-S-Shit.” He growled. The male would wait for Loki, even in a situation like this the male still wanted his steaks.

Had Gil noticed anything? Loki had been quick to make a break for it the second he caught himself purring so he hadn't focused much on Gil's reaction. It was awfully hard to miss Loki's purring. Out of all the feline traits the little shifter still held in his human form, purring was the worse. He had little control over himself to stop it. To make matters worse it was very easy to get him to start purring. If he was pleased with anything, really delicious food, a gentle touch, or anything at all he would start to purr. The boy cursed his inability to hide it. As innocent as that behaviour seemed to be it was actually quite dangerous. It was one of the few things that could give away his true nature. One day he had to learn to control it. Today was not that day though. Today he had to get some damn steaks. With Gil keeping his mouth shut on what he did or didn't see and or hear it was much easier to focus on the current task at hand. Loki stepped inside the freezer. The frigid air seeped through the young male's body the further he ventured inside. Loki wasn't the biggest fan of the cold, but after a few years of dealing with winter in this strange world made it all the more easier to handle a few minutes inside this place. Even if it really did bother him he would have to suck it up. This was only temporary till he got what he came for.
Now where was that old fart keeping the good stuff? Loki wondered as he eyed the shelves. It would have been simple enough to just grab any old piece of meat off the shelves but with all the trouble that Loki had been through just to get this far he didn't want to waste that time with any old steak. As someone who loved food the boy had his eye on bigger game. He planned to give Gil the best this shop had to offer so he could pay his debt off with style. It didn't take long for him to find what he was looking for. Even from where he was standing he could tell what laid beyond the shelf above him was the best steaks there. He had found what he wanted. Unfortunately he was too short to reach it. Damn his small stature. If he was a bit taller he could reach it just fine on his own. Sadly he wasn't born tall, that meant he needed help. There was a bit of a problem with that though. Guillotine had made it clear how bad it was for him to expose himself to the cold, so Loki couldn't ask him to give him a little boost. But that didn't mean he couldn't ask for something else to give him a boost.
Guillotine didn't say anything after Loki explained the situation, but the shifter did hear him moving about outside. That was all the sign that he needed to know that Gil was doing what he was asked. Loki stood where he was, wrapping his arms around himself to help keep him warm while he waited. Gil was taking a bit longer than Loki had expected to find something though. Loki wasn't annoyed by that though, so long as Gil wasn't trying to mess with him there was probably a logical explanation as to what was holding him up. Perhaps Gil just couldn't find the thing? This was Gil's first time in the back of the shop so he wouldn't know where everything was right away. Judging from the look of the place it wasn't like the owner was very organized either. He hoped Gil would find something soon.
“Gil?” Loki called out again, did something bad happen? What was taking him so long? Soon enough Gil finally made his appearance. “Thanks a lot.” Loki said as he took the step stool out of Gil's hands. This would suit his purpose nicely. Maybe it was a bad idea to ask Gil to do this though, Loki had expected Gil to just drop the thing by the entrance for him to pick up. The boy didn't think Gil would actually come inside the freezer. By the looks of it Gil was not taking this little venture well at all. The larger male was shivering worse than Loki was, he could hear how cold he was getting in his voice too. “Will do, now get out of here before you freeze your balls off.” Loki gave the hellhound a gentle push towards the entrance before he put the stool down in front of the shelf he wanted to get at. At least Gil's sacrifice was not in vain. The stool gave him just enough of a boost to get at the steaks. Loki quickly grabbed the container they were in. “Shit, this is heavier than I thought.” the boy mumbled as he lifted the container off the shelf. The sudden shift of weight nearly made him fall off the stool, but Loki was quick enough to steady himself before he could fall. With a small sigh of relief Loki got down and walked out of the freezer.
“Here's dinner.” the shifter purred as he made his way out of the freezer. Loki looked quite pleased with himself until he saw Gil. His expression quickly turned from pleased to concerned. Loki walked over to the hellhound before setting the steaks aside and kneeling in front of him. “Holy shit man, are you okay?” Loki didn't think that Gil would be this weakened from just stepping into the freezer. For crying out loud Gil wasn't even in there that long, but it looked like he was turning blue already. Now he was starting to regret asking him for some assistance. At least he had been smart enough to keep Gil from trying to get the steaks himself. Who knew how much worse he would look if he had?

Oh that dreadful little stool was an interesting find. It was amazing Gil had found it at all under the clutter, but once he did he delivered it to Loki. The smaller feline took the stool before turning to Gil. The male had stated that he should leave before he froze his balls off, though it was a bit too late for that. Lok then gave Guillotine a gentle shove towards the door. Once in the back room Gil had rested himself against the wall before slowly sinking to the ground. Guillotine began to curse his existence. Why did his creator decide to infect him with such a hindering affliction? Perhaps his master was on drugs at the time of his creation. It wasn’t fair, the rest of his pack mates were created to have fur. Maybe he was a mistake? Gil shook the thought from his head. His condition was making his mind race.
Guillotine would have been a happy little pup when Loki announced he had his steaks, but he was far too chilled to do so. The hellhound slowly looked up, watching as Loki exited the freezer. He had some juicy steaks in his hand but Gil wished he could get up and take them. He was far too weak to do so at the moment. Yet another curse left his lips. The hound watched as Loki’s facial expression changed. It was farther interesting to see just how worried he looked about him. Guillotine thought this was a bit strange, after all, he thought the little cat hated him. Before Gil could open his mouth to speak Loki wondered over to him and knelt down infront of him. Loki asked if he was okay, and Gil shook his head slowly. He was far too cold to want to get up.
A shaky hand reached out and grabbed Loki. Guillotine didn’t hesitate when he pulled the smaller male to him. At least Loki wasn’t lying earlier when he said he was warmer than most humans. Guillotine pulled the smaller male to his chest and nuzzled the side of his head just to get warm. God, he knew he looked like an idiot. Here he was snuggling up to an enemy. What was he thinking? Perhaps it was his lack of judgment that pushed him to do this. Right now, Loki was the only thing giving off heat in that backroom. Surely, if there had been a lady with them Guillotine would have went for her instead. But alas, It wasn’t meant to be. The hellhound needed to get warm, and fast. Wrapping both of his arms around Loki, growled, and said. “I-I c-can’t do t-this…” His tone was weak, he almost mumbled his words. “I-I need you to warm m-me up.” God he hated this. Not only was this a blow to his ego, but also quite ridiculous as well. Azazel would probably have a good laugh if he were to see this. Gil cursed to himself, shivering he pulled Loki against him, almost pulling the little male into his lap. “T-This is b-b-bullshit.”

Loki was quite pleased with himself once he got the steaks down. This was it, he was almost through with this little arrangement and for that he was grateful. This was one hell of a night, Loki had to talk his way out a very dangerous situation, was talked into going back into some of his old bad habits just to save his own skin. This was not the way that he intended to spend his night off work. All Loki ever wanted to do was head back home, chill with his friends, probably do a bit of cooking, and watch anime. Yet here he was with someone he wasn't particularly fond of. But that would all be over soon. Once Gil got his fill they could go on their separate ways. There wouldn't be a permanent peace between them of course, but one night of it was a blessing in of itself. All he had to do was deliver his end of the bargain.
But things were becoming a little more complex than that, like they always did. Once Loki made it out to deliver the steaks he found Guillotine looking anything but well. The way Loki looked down at the hellhound you wouldn't have thought he hated the brute. Honestly things were not exactly clear cut with him and Gil in Loki's mind. Gil had tried to kill him in the past, but there was something about Gil that made a part of him not completely despise the guy. Maybe it was because of the conversation they had the night Gil tried to eat him? It was clear that they shared some kind of similar fate what with life fucking up their lives. Then there was Blake, despite breaking things off with her because of this fight, just knowing that Gil was precious to her did make some part of him invested in Gil's well being.
It was a pretty messed up situation but Loki didn't think on it much. When he saw that Gil was in trouble he went to his side without thinking. The first thing the boy did was ask how the hellhound was holding up. His concern only grew with Gil's response. He had to be in pretty bad shape if he couldn't even speak to him. Loki reached his hand out to gently touch Gil's cheek. “Damn it you are freezing.” Gil was a lot colder than he thought he would be. “You shouldn't have come in there you fool. I asked you to get something to climb up on, that didn't mean you had to hand deliver it to me personally. You could have just left it at the door.” Loki let out a frustrated sigh. He couldn't really blame Gil for all of this, it was his fault for asking for help. He should have gone to search for the damn stool himself.
Loki turned his eyes off Guillotine to look around the shop. There was no way that he could leave Gil in the state he was in. If he wanted to keep his word tonight he had to help the hellhound warm up somehow. Too bad he couldn't setup a mini campfire for him, but there had to be something that he could use that would produce heat, maybe a stove or something. But while Loki was trying to spot something to help the hellhound out Gil came up with another plan. Loki didn't expect Gil to grab him when he did, or in the way that he did, so when Gil suddenly pulled him in closer he was genuinely scared. Who could blame him? This wouldn't be the first time that Gil had grabbed him it was to try and sink his fangs into his throat. Back then he had been prepared for that, but he had let his guard drop this time around. “N-no.” he could feel himself shaking as he tried to push Gil off without success. The hellhound was just to damn strong for him even in a weakened state like this. Was this it, was this the end of him?
He was expecting to feel Gil's fangs at any second but when Gil drew his face close to his the bigger male did something that he hadn't expected. He...nuzzled him. What? Loki's face turned red the moment he felt the other man nuzzle him. “W-what are you doing?” Fear quickly gave way to confusion and mostly embarrassment. This was a situation that was all too familiar for the young male. Gil was not the first man to cuddle with him like this, but he was certainly the last man that he ever thought would. Just like with Wey, Loki didn't know how to deal with it. He might have tried to pull away again if Gil didn't say that he needed him to keep him warm. So that was what this was? He just grabbed him like this for the sake of keeping warm? “Y-you could have asked first you know.” Loki tried to gain some composure. Now he just felt confused. On one hand he did want to help Gil warm up, but on the other hand he didn't want to do it this way. But what choice did he have? There were not a lot of options here to use besides his own body. This had to be one of the most awkward moments of his life. It wasn't like he was used to having another guy hugging him so damn tightly. It was one thing for him to cuddle with a girl, he used to do that a lot when he had been with Amalia, but he wasn't really used to the other way around. This was not going to be good.
Loki let out another sigh and shifted his position, moving up into Gil's lap to help get his own body more comfortable. Sadly this did nothing to help make the situation feel any less awkward than it already was. “Fine. If it really will help then I'll share my warmth with you...for a bit.” God Loki couldn't even look Gil in the eyes anymore, this was just too damn embarrassing to smooth over so easily, “Just....don't try anything funny. I won't have you trying to bite me like you did last time.”

Guillotine was beginning to regret this whole damn thing. If only he had killed Loki before none of this would be happening right now! At this moment he would have been back at Jesse’s place, lounging on the couch, and watching TV with a fully belly. How on earth did he let this happen? Then again, if he had killed Loki back there things would have gotten a whole lot worse. If Azazel found out, he would be as good as dead. Either way, he was fucked. Tonight certainly wasn’t Gil’s night. While investigating the butcher shop with Loki the young hound was suddenly reminded of a fatal flaw. One that could easily cost him his life. It was his own stupidity that had caused this. Though, he couldn’t help but to put most of the blame on Loki. If the little shifter hadn’t made him bring the stool he wouldn’t be in this mess right now. Why couldn’t he just grow a few inches and get the steaks from the shelf? Guillotine groaned to himself.
A hint of confusion could be seen in Gil’s eyes as Loki placed a gentle hand on his cheek. Did the shifter really, truly, care about him? Well, this struck Gil as strange. After all, he did try to kill the smaller feline, not once, but twice now. Was Loki the type of guy who would forgive a beast like him? Perhaps he did care, soon after the shifter spoke. Drilling the hound on why he shouldn’t have gone into the freezer. Even at a time like this, Loki still gave Gil the business. If it wasn’t for the situation, Gil would have smiled at that thought. Though, the feline was right. Gil didn’t have to step foot into the freezer, but he did anyway. This was the reason why he was like this to begin with. The hellhound didn’t respond to what Loki was saying, instead he acted on instinct.
The situation got progressively worse as time went on. The hellhound was quite literally freezing himself to death. So when Loki walked over to him he had to act. What else was a hound like him to do? Oh, if only Azazel could see them now. Guillotine had a rather tight grip on Loki as he pulled the male to him. The little male looked terrified at first. If only Gil wasn’t freezing his balls off he would have chomped onto Loki’s neck right then and there. But alas, he needed the little cat’s warmth. He could feel Loki fighting him, but eventually the little shifter stopped when Gil began to nuzzle him. The hellhound could feel Loki’s face flush against his cheek. “I-I need y-you.” Guillotine managed to say under chattering teeth. When the feline finally calmed down he said that Gil could have asked first. The hound slowly shook his head, he knew the shifter would have said no. This was something the both of them really weren’t too keen on doing.
When Loki shifted his position the hound lifted his chin and rested it on his company’s head, all the while his arms continued to wrap around Loki and hold him close. The shifter was right about one thing, he was warmer than most. Still, it was taking Gil a while for his body to adjust, would this even be good enough? Guillotine continued to curse under his breath. His tall frame continued to shake. “Y-You mention this t-t-to any-one and I-I will kill y-you.” Who was he kidding? Surly, Loki was just as embarrassed by the situation as he was. He shouldn’t expect the feline to tell anyone about this. The feline gave Gil a warning. He would share his warmth just so long as he didn’t do anything funny. “T-Trust me, y-you are the o-only thing keeping me a-alive r-r-right now…” The hound grumbled under his breath. He just couldn’t believe what was happening right now. He prayed this little cat wouldn't start purring.

Gil's condition was beginning to worry the little shapeshifter. The moment that Loki touched him he could feel just how cold Guillotine was. The way the hellhound felt like now was reminiscent of someone who had just fallen into a frozen lake. The telltale signs of hypothermia were all there. If Loki didn't act soon Gil might die. Funny how life turned out. Not too long ago Loki would have been happy at the prospect of Gil's demise. This hellhound was more than a minor annoyance in his life. It would have been one thing if he was just a bully, bullies he could handle just well on his own no matter how violent they were. But Gil did more than just pick on him, the bastard had tried to kill him in the past. He was more than prepared to do just that again if he hadn't been bribed to think twice about it. In the big picture Gil's death would be better for him. Sure Blake would be sad, there might be even more people that Loki wasn't aware of that might miss the hellhound, but at least he would be alive, and Azazel would be more than happy to know his worse enemy had died. Well, maybe he'd be a little disappointed that he didn't kill Gil himself, but for the most part he would be happy.
It was crazy for him to give as much of a crap about Gil's condition as he did right now but Loki had his reasons. Unlike Guillotine who wouldn't think twice about going back on a deal, Loki cared enough about his promises to make sure he kept them. While the boy could be deceptive when he needed to be, when he made an honest deal he would see it through. It was because of that way of thinking that he was with Azazel in the first place. Gil was nothing like his friend but he did make a deal with him, and it would be difficult to keep it if the hellhound ended up dying on him. So here Loki was, desperately looking for something that he could use to help save Gil's life when Guillotine pulled him into his arms. The sudden act was enough to scare the crap out of him. For a second Loki thought Gil was planning to kill him while his guard was down, but instead all he wanted to was to use his body to keep himself warm.
What the actual fuck...
This was turning out to be one hell of an evening. It never crossed Loki's mind that he would end up being forced to cuddle with his enemy. It was as if the gods, or just the god of this world, were playing some cruel sick joke on him. If this was some kind of a joke he had fallen for it. The boy couldn't stop himself from blushing when Gil started to nuzzle him, the man's words when Loki asked him what in the hell he was doing didn't really help matters much. “You...might want to rethink what you said just now.” Loki replied. “If I didn't know any better I would think you were in love with me or something.” Gil's actions certainly were sending mixed messages. Loki couldn't help but wonder who was worse, Gil's attempts at keeping himself warm using his body, or Wey's strange displays of affection. Either way didn't stop this from feeling very awkward. Loki wanted nothing more than to curl up and die right then and there, but that would never happen.
Like it or not Loki would have to deal with this situation. Since Loki couldn't break out of Gil's embrace (breaking out would mean Gil's death, and his iron grip wasn't helping) he did the only thing he could do. Loki pulled himself into Gil's lap. The boy nestled his head against the hellhound's chest so he had an excuse to keep his face away from Gil's. As embarrassing as this was he couldn't deny that physically speaking he was quite comfortable. If Gil wasn't as cold as ice, and in general an ass, he might not have minded being cuddled by the bigger male as much. This after all was not the first time he had ever snuggled with someone. When Amalia had still been alive he had to hold her in his arms to keep them both warm during the night. Only recently with Weylyn did he ever find himself being the one pulled into an embrace. It was still strange but maybe he could get used to it. The boy scoffed when Gil threatened him not to tell anyone.
“I'd sooner kill myself than let anyone else know that this ever happened.” the boy replied. It was a good thing that what few friends Loki did have were no where near this place to ever stumble upon this scene. He would die from embarrassment. Besides, with Gil being a sworn enemy to both himself and Azazel this could complicate things. What would Azazel do if he saw this? Would he laugh it off, or would he get mad? They would both be lucky if Azazel teased them for it. Who knew what would happen? All Loki knew was that he had no intentions of letting the fallen angel find out. This was a secret that he was going to take to his grave. Speaking of graves, Loki couldn't help but bring up his worries about Gil using this opportunity to kill him. Despite going as far as giving into the hellhound's demands for steak Loki didn't have any illusions about Gil turning around to kill him once he brought the goods. Now was the perfect opportunity to take the boy out. Despite Gil's condition he could still easily overpower him. All he had to do was just pin Loki down or clamp down on his throat and he was as good as dead. Gil did bring up a good point though, if he killed Loki now he would lose the one thing that was keeping him alive. “What happens once you get your warmth?” the boy asked. “Me being your lifeline in the past hasn't guaranteed my own safety in the past, so why would it now?”

This little plan had gone down hill remarkably fast. When Guillotine came here he hadn’t expected this experience to end in tragedy. All the male wanted was some good steak, was that too much to ask for? Now the hound sat there, trying desperately to get warm. The male had cursed to himself multiple times. His stupidity was finally getting to him. And lucky for him, Loki was still around. The male seemed a bit worried about him. which was strange to the hellhound. Guillotine was sure Loki would take the chance and hightail it out of there as soon as he lowered his guard. Gil was in a weakened state. Loki could easily outrun him at this point. However, as the feline drew closer Gil snatched him up. There was no way he was going to let Loki leave, not until he was warm.
The poor cat got dragged into a real mess. If it hadn’t been for their previous meeting then the two would have went on their merry way. Loki seemed just as embarrassed as Gil by this point. The two males didn’t appear to be in any sort of position to argue at the time. Instead, they were there, stuck together. The truly did look like two love birds sitting there. Guillotine was thankful both Blake and Azazel weren’t in the room at the time. The two would have surely made fun of this recent incident. Never in Gil’s life would he had expected to be sitting here, cuddling an enemy. After Gil nuzzled Loki the poor cat had a few things to say. The hound rolled his eyes and groaned. “I-I’m too c-cold to think straight…”He murmured under his breath. Though, what loki said was true. From the outside looking in the two did look like lovers.
The hound was pleased when Loki began to comply. With the male in his lap and his head resting against his chest, the male began to slowly warm up from his body heat. Guillotine would never admit it. However, Loki’s body was fairly warm. He felt comfortable against this smaller male. Gil loosened his grip but kept Loki close. He then rested his chin on top of the younger male’s head and sighed. Loki had replied to his question, his answer pleased Gil. “Good. I’d h-hate for anyone to f-find out about this…” Guillotine kept quiet for a moment and listened as Loki began to speak. The smaller male asked him what he was going to do once he got warm. Well, this was interesting. Guillotine did have Loki right where he wanted him. If he wanted to, he could easily kill the male now.
The hellhound began to thinks things over. He had a choice to make. Either he could kill Loki, and risk being hunted down by Azazel, or he could let him live, and take pride in living to old age. The hound snorted. He hated what he was about to say, but really he didn’t have a choice. “When T-This is over I-I’m going to get my s-steaks and leave.” The hound replied, he slowly rubs his hands against Loki’s back. Trying to get a little more warmth from the friction. “D-Don’t worry. I-I’m not going to kill you...today.”
(( I hope this post is ok :3))

It would be a lie to say that Loki wasn't aware of the golden opportunity he had here. With the cold seriously effecting Guillotine, the hellhound was too weak to be a threat. This was the perfect chance for Loki to just walk away. He could have just dumped the stupid steaks and walk out of the butchershop. He didn't even need to run for it with the big male in his current state. It even crossed his mind that he could do a lot worse than just walk away. With Gil's current condition Loki was more than capable of killing him. What a perfect way to get revenge for the damn mutts previous attempts to kill him, while also ensuring his own safety. If Azazel was in his shoes he would have done just that. No, who was he kidding? If Azazel was in his shoes he'd probably torture Gil first before killing him. Those dark thoughts had entered the boy's mind for a second but he instantly threw them out of his mind. No matter how much he might benefit from it in the long run Loki couldn't bring himself to do it. All because he was kind.
Kindness. If Loki had one fatal flaw it was that. The boy's kindness prevented him from taking a practical root to this situation. He was more than aware of what would happen if he tried to keep Guillotine alive tonight. Gil was not the grateful type. If he made it through the night at all he wouldn't hesitate to kill him again the next time they met. Keeping Gil alive meant risking his life, and the life of the people he cared about. It was a stupid decision even if he did factor in Blake. But Loki's own nature prevented him from doing so. He wasn't even sure he could live with the fact he killed another person in self defense, so outright murder was out of the question. That was why he chose to stay instead, and ended up in his current position. While Loki was probably more used to being cuddled than Guillotine was that didn't make this situation any less embarrassing for him. Once he had gotten over the initial panic from being grabbed out of the blue all that fear turned into shame. He couldn't even look Gil in the eyes anymore out of fear that the bigger male would see his red face. It was probably too late to cover that up after the nuzzling but he tried to hide it anyway.
At least he wasn't alone in this shame. Gil was just as embarrassed by this moment as he was, though the hellhound decided to show his shame through threats. Loki might have laughed that off if he was in a better mood, but as things stood now he just growled out a response. There was no way in hell that Loki was ever going to tell anyone about what happened tonight. Azazel would either laugh his ass off about this or at worse get mad, Wey was probably going to tease him about this too if he found out. “Tell me about it. I'd sooner kill myself before I let anyone else know about this.” he replied. He would keep this crap to himself. He even planned to head straight to the bathroom once he got back home to take a shower just to get Gil's scent off of him before anyone could notice. That was if he would ever get home in the first place.
Loki was all too aware of the position he was in. While he did accept his situation enough to nestle himself against Guillotine's chest, he knew he could be falling into a trap he couldn't get out of. Gil did need his warmth now so he was safe, but once Gil what he needed what would happen with him? Would Gil take this chance to kill him? Kindness prevented Loki from striking while he had the chance, but Gil didn't suffer from the same problem. It would be so easy for Gil to kill him. The hellhound could easily put his hands around Loki's neck if he wanted, or bite him, or, well, do whatever the hell he wanted. While Loki did have his weapons there wasn't a lot of room for him to pull a knife out in time to save himself. As things stood now Loki didn't feel safe, and he let that be known. He needed some assurance from Gil that he would be leaving here alive tonight. There was a brief period of silence after Loki asked his question before Gil finally gave him an answer. A part of him still doubted the hellhound's words but he kept that thought to himself.
“Good. I wouldn't want the second time I saved your life coming back to bite me in the butt.” the boy replied. Maybe tonight he really would be safe, though that didn't guarantee his continued existence after this point. That was an issue for another time, not now. Loki was finally beginning to relax. Though he was loath to admit it outright it did feel kind of nice being in Gil's lap. The hellhound was pretty comfortable. When the other male started rubbing his back he started to purr. He didn't notice at first, but once he caught himself in the act he started to feel embarrassed again. “Wait.” the boy quickly grabbed Gil's hand to make the male stop. Damn it he needed to learn how to control his bad purring habit one of these days, but for the moment all he could do to stop himself from purring was to take control of the situation. An idea quickly formed in his mind on how he could do just that, it would at least prevent himself from purring but it wouldn't help make this whole mess less embarrassing for either of them.
“If you want to get warmer faster you need to do more than rub my back.” Loki started thinking back on his day back in his home world when he used to sneak into the healer's house. Back then he went there to learn ways that he could help keep Amalia healthy, since she had born sickly. He had picked up more than just what kind of medicine and plants that could help improve her condition, but other ways to heal the injured and the sick. While hypothermia was something he had never encountered before he did know a little bit on how to deal with it. “This isn't going to cut it.” he said. Without a fire Loki was forced to share his body heat, but what the healers taught him was in the absence of fire to share body heat he had do a lot more than just cuddle up with the patient. “The best way to warm you up is touch by flesh. Since there is no way in hell I am going to get naked just to warm you up, this is the only way to do it.” Taking Gil's hand in his own Loki gently started to rub the other male's hand. God this was awful, but it did feel like it was working, he could already feel Gil's hand warming up to his touch. “I-is it working?”

Loki was highly embarrassed, that much Gil could tell. He had taken note of the smaller male’s face, and the way he was acting. Poor Loki had gotten himself into quite a bit of trouble with Guillotine around, but this was just ridiculous. Well, at least Loki wasn’t the only one embarrassed by this current situation. Guillotine himself was quite displeased with himself. Never in his life would Gil ever think something like this could happen. He was cuddling with an enemy. Man, he should have killed Loki when he had a chance back in that alley. If he had, he would be hunted down by Azazel sure, but that fate was far better than what he was currently dealing with. Dying of hypothermia wasn’t something Gil had expected. He’d been so careful. Hell, he even made his roommate go out and buy a heat lamp for him during the winter. Guillotine could recall sneaking into Jesse’s bed on those cool winter nights. That never resulted in a cuddle but the body head from under the blanket did wonders, even if the two weren’t touching. Before, when Gil first came to the world, he had his pack to keep him warm. They were the only beings, aside from his mate of course, that he had ever cuddled with, until now. God, Gil never thought he would see the day that he would be snuggling up with an enemy.
Guillotine was slowly starting to lose consciousness. The hellhound could slowly feel himself starting to slip away. With one last attempt to keep his head above water he had attempted to rub Loki’s back to get some warmth. He could feel something strange against his chest as he did this. Was Loki purring? The vibration felt so comforting, oddly enough. Suppose the purring reminded the hound of his mate? Guillotine could remember Akeelah purring just like this. A weak smile appeared onto Guillotine’s face as he continued to pet the smaller male. As strange as this was, Guillotine didn’t want Loki to stop purring. It felt a bit strange to have another male sitting in his lap. In the past he let women do it all the time, but for another man to do so was unheard of. Loki was warm, that much Gil knew, and he needed this warmth. The tall hound rested his chin on top of the smaller man’s head and groaned. He wasn’t quite sure how much more of this he could take. Maybe he should have let Azazel kill him back in that alley that day. No, he shouldn’t think like that. He needed to stay alive for Akeelah, and for his pups.
"Y-Yeah, I'd sooner...die." The hound mumbled under his breath. He was starting to grow a little weaker. His hand moments slowed considerably. It was clear that this idea wasn't exactly working. Loki had begun to talk but by that time Gil was starting to sway slightly. “I-I’m sorry.” His deep voice rumbled from his throat. These words came out of no where. The hound was starting to lose his mind. If Gil was in his right mind he wouldn’t have apologized for anything. Instead, he continued this. “f-for everything….” By the time Loki took Gil’s hand the hound looked completely out of it. Luckily for him, Loki had a new tactic in mind. He would take Gil’s hand and rub it, starting a little friction that had began to warm the hound’s rough pale fingers. The feline had said something about not getting naked, and Gil forced out a weak chuckle. At least he could agree with Loki on one thing. God, if the two did have to get in their birthday suits that would be crossing a line that Gil did not want to go anywhere near. "G-Good..." Loki soon looked up at the taller hound and asked if he was getting warmer. Guillotine gave Loki a nod. "T-Thank you..." He said, looking the smaller male in the eye. He then leaned forward and pushed his forehead against Loki's.The beast's mind was still swimming. Clearly, he wasn't exactly thinking straight.

((I am so sorry for how fucking long this post is ))Had anyone asked him before this moment about how well Loki was at hiding his emotions he would have said pretty good. For as long as Loki could remember he had to hide his true thoughts and feelings from others. Show the wrong reaction and he would face ridicule, punishment, and at worse death. Loki was only an open book to those he truly felt safe showing his real feelings to. That list of individuals was not very long at all. Only Amalia ever saw him for what he truly was, the few people on that list now he still kept certain things about himself away from them. Gil was not one of those people. Loki usually was pretty guarded with him. He tried to come off as calm and cool when he faced the hellhound, when normally the brute's presence made him feel wary, and at times down right terrifying. He could act so calm at times that he could even trick himself into thinking he was calm. But this moment in time Loki was anything but calm, and he couldn't bring himself to even act the part. This had to be the most embarrassing moment in Loki's life. The little shifter always knew that Gil's presence would never bring good things. From the time they had met Guillotine had been a constant thorn in his side. He was frighteningly strong, cocky ass hell, and very fixated in his goal to snuff the life right out of him. It was normal to expect any confrontation with the beast to end in bloodshed. At first having a violence free meeting for once made Loki feel better about being around him. That was, until he ended up forced into Gil's lap. How did this happen? Loki knew the answer to that already, he knew about the events that transpired to bring himself into this mess, but he still asked that question all the same. Never in his life did he think that he would end up snuggled up against someone he thought of as an enemy. This situation was not only embarrassing but potentially dangerous too. Loki had no illusions about his strength. While he was training with Azazel to get strong enough to protect himself against most threats, no amount of training would ever get him to the point of taking down Guillotine with his bare hands. Training or not, he was still smaller and physically weaker than Gil was. In a fight Loki needed mobility, he needed to out maneuver a brute like Gil, and he needed to have the freedom to pull out his arsenal to use against him if he had any chance of survival. Being in Gil's arms squashed that. Loki was painfully aware of how easy it would be for Gil to take advantage of him now. Even in his weakened state Gil could just pin him down and sink his fangs into his throat, or just strangle him and there was nothing that Loki could do to stop that. A part of him was still afraid that would happen. But his embarrassment overpowered that fear, worse yet, it showed. There was no hiding his shame tonight. Loki couldn't even look Gil in the eye anymore. There was nothing he could do to hid the blush on his face either. Oh how he longed to just pull his hood over his face so he could hide his shame from the world. He might've done that if Gil wasn't already resting his chin upon his head. Loki was stuck. At least he wasn't alone in this feeling. Gil was embarrassed too, Loki might not have see the same reflection of shame on Gil's face since he was trying to look at anything but the man who had him in his arms, but he could hear it in the way that he talked. As embarrassed as the two were Gil's current condition took priority over the duo trying to save face. Gil held onto Loki tightly to gain what little warmth he could. There was not a lot that Loki could do to help other than let Gil have his way. Things could be worse Loki thought to himself. He could be trying to kill me...or someone could walk in on us. Dear gods don't ever let that last one happen. This was the kind of incident that Loki would take to his grave rather than sharing. He was right though, things could be much worse. He had his life still, no one was here to see, and it wasn't like Gil was doing anything else inappropriate. For Gil's sake Loki was willing to let the hellhound put his hands on him, so long as they didn't go groping him in places that they shouldn't. That was one fear that Loki would never have to worry about with Gil. As desperate as the man was he wasn't so sexually depraved that he would start molesting someone he claimed to hate. Loki was sure that things couldn't get any worse for him until Gil started to rub his back. The sensation was oddly pleasant which made the boy purr before he could stop himself. Loki's face turned a deeper shade of crimson when he caught himself doing so. Damn it. Why did he have to purr every time someone pet him? He wasn't some damn house cat that grew up being petted and coddled by humans. He was a wild cat damn it! Loki would have cursed himself more if it wasn't for what Gil said next. The hellhound's words were enough to pull Loki out of his embarrassment for a moment to look back up at Gil. Did...did he hear that right? Did Gil just apologize...to him? Loki opened his mouth to speak only to find he had no words of which to say. This apology had came out of no where, and felt so strange coming out of Guillotine. Gil didn't seem to be the type apologize for anything even if he was the one in the wrong. “You...must really not feel well if you are saying that.” Loki teased a little bit to help ease the tension. The boy looked away from Gil once more as he considered the man's apology. Loki's kind nature made him more forgiving than most people would, but he was no saint that he could forgive Gil for trying to kill him. He could forgive a lot of things, but could he forgive that? “...if you are really sorry, and won't come for my blood anymore I forgive you.” he replied. Maybe this was just the desperate attempt at making peace from a man that was afraid that he was about to die, but he could try to take his apology seriously. Loki sighed, “I am sorry too...for our first meeting.” If Gil was man enough to apologize for trying to murder him than he could be man enough to own up to his own mistakes. All of this started because Loki was trying to honor the deal he had made with Azazel. While it was the angel that ordered him to do it, that didn't absolve him from the wrongs that he had done to Gil, and he wouldn't try to use that as an excuse. Maybe there could be peace between them after all? That was something that Loki wouldn't mind having. Things between him and Gil were complicated. Their hatred for each other was stemmed in the one person that binded them together. Loki didn't like having to hold a grudge against someone just because of their associations. When Blake got thrown into the mix it made things even more complicated. Just when Loki gained the desire to kill someone he found out that the person in question was deeply tied with someone that they cared for. If Loki killed Gil he risked more than just losing a part of his innocence, he risked causing a girl he cared for more pain than he already dealt her. If he could make up with Gil now maybe he could avoid all of that. But to gain peace at all he needed to keep Guillotine alive. That was not going to be an easy task. Though Gil kept Loki close to himself he didn't seem to be getting any warmer. Loki could feel the man shivering, his icy cold touch was enough to make him start to shiver too. Gil was freezing and would only get worse if something wasn't done. Loki had to do something and fast. Trying his best to remember what the healers he had met back when he was a kitten Loki tried to help Gil get warmer by increasing their physical contact. Since Loki's skin was the warmest part to him he would have to let Gil touch his flesh. He couldn't bring himself to go as far as stripping down but he could at least start by getting his upper body warmer. Loki gently grabbed Gil's hand with his own, letting his fingers work their way around his to give the hellhound some kind of warmth. It was awkward of course but they were already past the point of caring over such things. It was a strange sensation feeling Gil's hand but it was somewhat interesting too. It was hard not to notice just how much bigger Gil's hand was compared to his own. Just like the rest of him, Gil's hand was pretty big. Loki couldn't help but feel a little envious over that. Though Loki never let it show he had always been jealous of bigger guys. Being so short and slim Loki never had the kind of physic he really wanted. He would never look strong, he would never get much muscles the way he was built. Gil on the other hand would never have to deal with what Loki did. Besides how cold Gil's touch was Loki noticed how rough the other male's hand was compared to his own. The realization almost made him chuckle. A few years had passed since Loki came into this world and had to work really hard just to support himself, and for a time support both himself and Amalia. By now he thought his hands would have calloused up a bit and no longer feel like the soft delicate hands of a noble born who never had to work a day in his life. But feeling Gil's hand showed him just how little that seemed to change. Loki returned his thoughts back to the reason he was doing this in the first place. Was Gil getting anything from this? This simple touch did feel like it was working somewhat. Gil's once icy cold fingers were starting to heat up a little bit under his touch. The boy turned his gaze back up to face Gil once more and asked him if this action was doing anything for him. Looking upon him now made the shifter doubt this whole snuggling plan. He didn't look like he was getting any better. Gil was paler than he usually was and looked so out of it that he might collapse at any moment. Despite how bad he looked Gil was able to give a nod in response. “Really? Cause it doesn't look like it is.” Loki said, despite his words the shifter continued with his task, he started going down along Gil's arm once he felt the male's hand start to warm up more to his touch. That was when Gil pressed his face close against his. Loki didn't see this coming, so when it did it was enough to make tense up a bit and stop moving. Once again Loki couldn't help but blush a little at how close they were. This was getting uncomfortably similar to his experience with Weylyn. ….This....wasn't going to head in any strange direction was it? “G-gil?” He could hear the worry in his voice as he spoke. He wasn't worried that Gil was going to do anything strange to him at the moment despite their current position. What worried him was Gil's condition. Just like most of his body Gil's face felt far too cold. It felt as if Loki was pressing his forehead against a block of ice. The look in Gil's eyes didn't help make him feel any less worried about the bigger male. “Hey man, hang in there.” Loki tried to keep his voice calm as he spoke. He pulled his hand away from Gil's arm to draw it up to his face. Shit, this was not going to work was it? Loki was starting to panic a bit now. He didn't know if he could save Gil like this, he needed help to keep Guillotine alive. But who could he turn to? Azazel was out of the question, there was Wey who was definitely a lot warmer than he was but he probably wouldn't know where to go to find them even if Loki told him where they were. He would call the hospital if they weren't inside the shop right now. There had to be somewhere else they could go, or at least a friend of Gil's that he could get to help them . “Gil, I think it might be better for you if we leave this place and get some help. Do you have a friend of yours that you can call to help us out?” He could only hope that Gil had a cellphone on him that he could use in case Gil passed out. As things were now the hellhound might collaspe on him at any moment.

Guillotine’s mind was swimming. Was he really going to die? Out of all the things the hound had been through, he was sure he would fall to the hands of another, not die from hypothermia. The beast had been through a lot during his stay on earth. Gil had been gutted alive, mutilated, run over, even jumped by his own pack. Surprisingly enough, he managed to stay alive through all that, but this one thing was about to give him a one way ticket to death’s sweet embrace. Guillotine would fight it, he had to. Not just for himself, but for his mate as well. What would Akeelah do if he wasn’t around to help with the pups? The feline didn’t know much about hellhounds. It would be a shame if the children were born with even an ounce of Gil’s genes. Certainly the poor things would be just as confused in life as Gil had been, and Akeelah would have to deal with that on her own if Gil didn’t pull out of this.
The more Gil fought the more tired he became. The coolness was sapping the energy from him. Certainly, if it wasn’t for Loki, Gil would have been dead by now. The beast was thankful for the smaller felines’s help. Though, if he were to survive this it was questionable whether or not he would truly show his gratitude. Deep down, however, he was grateful. Loki seemed quite surprised when Gil manned up and apologised. Perhaps Gil only did this because he thought he was going to die, or could it be that he truly was sorry for his actions?
Luckily for the hound, Loki came up with a new plan. Instead of allowing Gil to pet his back, the male would try to warm his hands instead. While this tactic wasn’t quite effective if did give Gil something to focus on rather than his demise. When the male took Loki’s hand into his own he couldn’t help but to chuckle weakly. The shifter’s hands were small and soft, almost feminine-like compared to his.
Loki appeared to understand that this method wasn’t working. Gil on the other hand appeared oblivious. The male was too far gone to realize he wasn’t quite warming up as fast as he should. Loki moved his hands down Gil’s arm, this also did not work. When Gil leaned onto Loki the smaller male had placed his hands onto gil’s face. The hound closed his eyes and gently nuzzled his soft, warm hand. It felt quite nice against his icy cold face. The hellhound then opened his eyes. Loki had said something about getting help but Gil didn’t appear to understand. It took a moment for Gil to actually answer. Thankfully he could still talk. The hound continued to tremble as he leaned back.
“J-Jesse, call J-J-Jesse.” The male groaned a bit as his trembling hand tried to reach into his pocket. He looked down and tried to guild his hand where it needed to go. The male had a phone on him, and with any luck Loki could call his roommate Jesse. Guillotine pushed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a phone. When he went to hand it to Loki something quite odd happened. The look on Guillotine’s face completely changed as he was handing Loki his phone. He looked the male in the eye and he appeared startled for a moment. In the canine’s mind, there was someone else sitting in his lap. That someone was not Loki.
“h-huh?” There it was again. That illusion that appeared to haunt Guillotine whenever he got himself into trouble. It happened back at the woods one full moon night when he and his roommate ran into some werewolves. This phantom appearance of his ex-mate appeared to have come back with a vengeance. Instead of Loki sitting there on his lap, it was his mate Akeelah. In his mental haze Gil would believe this hallucination to be real. The male’s face appeared to soften some. He weakly said, “A-Akeelah?” The hellhound couldn’t help but to smile at the sight of his mate. Gil believed she came here to warm him and keep him safe. Guillotine weakly rested his head against Loki once again, and give him a quick nuzzle. He seemed a bit too happy to be doing this. Little did Loki know, Gil’s brain was tricking him into thinking that he was someone else. Then the hound did something rather unexpected. He leaned forward and gently pressed his lips against Loki’s. The smaller male’s mouth was soft. Gil truly believed that he was now kissing his mate and not the male he tried to kill just hours ago. Not even thinking twice about the situation, Gil closed his eyes and tried to enjoy the last passionate kiss he would ever share with his ex.
(( Poor Loki hahahah))
