Jesse couldn't help but laugh at Guillotine's hunting comment. The hellhound did have a point, even if he did feel confident enough not to go chasing down the wrong kind of prey he had no clue how to hunt. Besides hunting down things in video games the man had never gone hunting before. On the surface it didn't seem to be something too difficult to do. You try to find some tracks leading to your prey, follow said tracks, sneak up on them, then kill. But even he knew that was a lot more difficult than it sounded. How would he knew what tracks were what? He could always use his nose but he doubted he could identify anything with his new nose when he didn't know what smelled like what, even the sneaking part he wasn't sure he could pull off well. He was bound to pull something stupid like step on a twig and lose any prey he could have caught. Yup, he would definitely need training on that matter. Luckily for him Gil was willing to help in that department. That would be great, Gil after all was a hunter. He was bound to know how to take down something besides humans so it had to work out well right?
With the tense atmosphere slowly dying off Jesse was slowly turning back to his old joking self, he even went as far as joking about his luck with girls. The man rolled his eyes when Gil told him his attitude was the problem. “Yeah yeah I know, everyone tells me that.” he replied. It was true, it was a well known fact with pretty much everyone in his life that Jesse had issues getting so much as a date. Did he care though? Honestly sometimes even he didn't know how much it got under his skin. While he had been unsuccessful in his romantic pursuits he didn't mop over it that much. Right now he was not in the right position to find a girlfriend, but that didn't mean he never would. One day he would find someone, he was sure of it. Till then he was content enough to not care, and even make jokes over his stroke of bad luck. Gil's remark on him finding a nice hellhound lady made the man chuckle again. “Like I need more hellhounds in my life man, you are a handful on your own. The last thing I need is another one of you.” he teased.
Soon Gil made an interesting proposal, he would be willing to help Jesse on his game if he could do something for him. Jesse was fine on the help department, it never hurt to get some help when it came to the ladies, but the grin on Gil's face when he asked for a favour in turn made Jesse suspicious. What could the hound want from him? He wondered. Eventually he got that answer and relaxed a bit, oh was that all? “That's all that you want huh? Well, I could do something even better than that.” the man replied, giving Gil a devilish smirk of his own. “I wasn't lying when I said you could see Akeelah again someday. Your old buddy Akh and I were trying to make plans for you two to meet some day. We still have to get past the whole TB cockblocking thing but that might not be as bad as you might think. Besides today's little incident you have been doing a lot better at controlling your anger, and with you working with TB even he's admitted that you aren't as bad as he thought you were. Akh and I can get through to him eventually. Hell, if he's gotten to the point that he stopped calling me every day to make sure you didn't nom on me yet he's gotta let you see Akeelah eventually. For now though I got no problems getting a picture of her for you. I'll just find out what days James or Nick are home and pay them a visit.”
Jesse was smart enough not to use the other agent's nicknames with Gil. While he knew that the hellhound had made some major improvements in his behaviour he still couldn't rule out the possibility that he would do something stupid like track down where Nova and Spoon lived just to get to her. Besides, he made a promise with TB to keep Gil and those two agents a part to avoid further conflict. With both men in agreement on that the conversation switched to their powers. It completely caught Jesse by surprise to learn that Gil had some flaws with his natural abilities just like he did. It wasn't nearly as bad as Gil made it to be though. While Gil couldn't throw fireballs at people he made up for that in other ways. Jesse pointed out that much to him. Gil seemed rather taken aback by what Jesse had to say. Jesse cracked a smile seeing Gil blush at his complement. Man, Gil was something else. The man was tough and acted like a big, mean, scary hellbeast on the surface, but deep down inside he was a bit of a softy. It was nice to see this side of him from time to time. “Of course I mean it!” Jesse beamed at him. “You really are stronger than you think Gil, trust me on that.”
It was nice knowing that he put a bit of a smile on Gil's face from what he said, but soon the topic changed again. Now that both men had calmed down it was time to go be productive. Well, as productive as two hellhounds could be. Jesse still needed to burn off some energy, and going out was the best way to do it. First things first though, they needed to get ready. Gil was bound to be a bit tired after all the stress of today. Jesse wasn't that much of an asshole to deny his hellhound friend a well deserved break. There was other things that Jesse could do in the meantime to keep himself busy, and he already had something in mind. Gil seemed fine with the idea, but he just had to ask what he was planning to do. “Oh you know...just dog stuff.” the man cooed, another wicked grin crossed his features as he spoke. He should have felt embarrassed about what he planned to do, but surprisingly he didn't. It wasn't like it was a big deal for dogs right? So why should it be a big deal to him if he was a dog for a day? “You'll find out soon enough. For now go rest up, I'll see ya later kay?”
