It wasn't uncommon to hear sounds coming from a certain cell. If it was quiet from that cell then something was certainly wrong. Constant banging, frustrated cries, claws on metal, snarling, and growling all could be heard from this cell. The constant smell of something being burned was here. It was a wonder that anyone dared to go near there, any of the Scientists that weren't the one that was assigned this rather....dangerous experiment from the beginning. But since that scientist was away for a little while, the others were tasked with keeping him alive and all that other stuff.
Reid slammed his fists against the wall of the cell, making a rage filled cry. Twenty-nine years. That was how long he had spent down here. The tall human's teeth were gritted as they elongated into fangs. And in a single moment as he turned around, a massive black wolf stood there. Lunging at the opposite wall and slamming it's head into it. There were no sounds to go with the change, no bones cracking and realigning could be heard. That was due to the years of changing between all of his forms.
Looking at the bars to the front of his cell. The massive beast took a deep breath and as it exhaled, released a sudden burst of flames from it's mouth. Sadly though, the fire wasn't hot enough nor lasted long enough to melt the bars. But, at least the outside of the cage had a new scorch mark to add to the collection. The massive beast reared up onto it's hind paws and took on another form as it slammed it's large shoulder into the wall.
This form looked like a werewolf on the night of the full moon. The beast stood on it's hind paws, snarling with golden eyes glaring about. It was only after a few more slams into the cell walls and frustrated and enraged snarling and growling. Did it revert to the human male once more. Sitting down in the middle of the cell against the wall, he sat there panting.

So word around the facility was that Vivian was away on business, gone for a while to take care of work as well as personal matters. It was pretty much true, sure, but upon arriving early back to the Axium, Viv wasn't surprised to hear a few other little tidbits of gossip mixed in with the news, things that weren't quite so true. The one that seemed to be most popular was the ridiculous rumor going around that she was actually leaving for a while to take care of her father. It had all started churning around the rumor-mill because somebody had heard from somebody else who thought they had heard from this one person who was supposedly friends with the man's doctor's wife who said that the doctor had said that he was growing dangerously ill. To be honest, Vivian hoped with all she had in her that her "father" was sick. Why would she actually care about helping him, even if he actually was? She wanted him to be the sickest of sick no matter the truth, to be incapable of even lifting a finger. But she wanted her mother more worse-off. After running away, the young woman had never once sought out her adopted family. And they never sought out her. And if they even dared, especially now, they would be more susceptible to ending up six feet under rather than finding a daughter with open arms.
Disregarding the stupidity of her co-workers, though, Vivian was genuinely amused at the many complaints she kept receiving regarding her main experiment. The man was a handful, yes, but if she could deal with him, then surely they could too. Wait, no, scratch that. Nearly every person here other than herself was either too pathetic or lazy to take care of the explosive male, if not both. Vivian brushed off each and every scientist that scrambled up to her to whine in her ear, her tall, feminine figure quickly traveling through the hallway to reach her current object of interest. Actually, her object of interest that had lasted her for five years so far, and was still going strong. But nevermind that. The young woman's trademark stilettos cracked against the flooring with each and every step she took, making her a dead giveaway as she neared the caged specimen, as he was often referred to. Vivian narrowed her eyes as she heard his angered outbursts echo through the hall into her ears, and a fading wave of heat let her know that he was having another little episode of his. Just wonderful.
Every other scientist that had - at one point - been occupying this wing was now standing outside in one of the adjoining lobbies, practically shaking in their boots at the madness Fire Wolf portrayed. Vivian mentally shook her head at the idiots. They were such cowards. How were they supposed to get anything done when they spent half their day cowering from the inevitable? The young woman finally reached the last few yards leading up to Reid's cell, and as she walked the remainder of the way, she spoke, one of her hands holding on to her clipboard and pen, and the other her white labcoat. She hadn't even had time to slip it on when she arrived, people had been swarming her so and spewing chaos about "The psycho she kept in the building" as many of them had put it. "Cool it, hot-stuff," she snapped, her lady-like voice making the sharpness on her tongue a little hard to take seriously. Vivian stopped walking once she was a foot away from the bars, her richly-colored eyes sliding from Reid to the scorched wall, and then slowly, back again to his worked-up form. She narrowed her lids again, her eyes becoming shadowed over from her lashes as she looked at the man. "Don't look so happy to see me," she said, shifting her weight onto her right foot to alleviate it from her left side. "And you know I hate it when you make a burned mess like this." The woman paused for a second, then tipped her head just ever-so-slightly. "What triggered it?" she asked in referral to his outburst, setting her clipboard down onto the ground as she swung her labcoat onto her slim body and settled into her job-like demeanor. "Same old crap?"

That voice...Reid recognized it. Automatically his body tensed, not out of fear but more like a part of him was taking over. He maintained his human form, that was a new thing. Usually when his body tensed, he usually took on a different form. His amber gaze went to Vivian and he listened to her words. A smile tried to creep it's way across his face as he sat there in the darker part of the cell, but he made it go away as he held back a laugh. The woman always complained about the scorch marks.
"I thought one of the chickens would be done soon to handle that, not you." Reid answered as he sat there. "Depends on your definition of 'same old crap.' "
Reid stood up and leaned against the the back wall. Upon her asking what triggered his rage before, he closed his eyes and his teeth gritted. He was holding back a sudden increase of his rage but it quickly decreased. He honestly didn't know what triggered his rage spree a moment ago. He stopped gritting his teeth as he stood there and he opened his eyes again. The glowing amber gaze fell back to Vivian.
"Those chickens honestly didn't read your notes if you left them any. They certainly do squawk a lot, especially that one." Reid said as he stood there.
He was referring to one of the other female scientists. She was a fool to stick a man that was twice Reid's size into the same room as him and then have them intentioly fight each other. Course she had special requirements for the fight but hey. It quickly didn't go her way and she made a large fuss over it. His beastly nature wanted to tear her head off so badly but it settled with the muscle man and the microphone in the wall.

The conditions that the "experiments" were forced to live in here at the Axium were actually quite alright. Always were there horror stories about the rooms the beings were kept in, and the food they were fed, and even the amount of spider webs that littered the corners. All experiments had cells to live in, yes, but they were nicer than those that were typical of a prison. Everything necessary was in the room, and if an experiment proved its worth and its capability to control itself, it was allowed a few personal touches as well. So, really, the way one lived depended on the way one handled themselves. Vivian allowed her eyes to skim over the contents of Reid's cell at the thought. He had made no progress since she had left, and it almost looked as if things were a little worse off than when she had first left the facility. She wondered what had been bothering him so. Slipping her gaze back to Reid, Vivian finished shrugging on her labcoat, and she picked her clipboard back up as she listened to him speak. The young woman raised one of her eyebrows, her thoughts skirting over the possibilities of what other disruptive things he did when she wasn't around. Obviously, her appearance hadn't been expected for today. Of course, though, she wasn't supposed to come back for another couple of days. But she had finished what she needed to, and she wasn't the type to just sit around doing nothing. She had to come back to work.
Smirking faintly, Vivian shrugged, holding her clipboard to her chest and crossing her arms over it as she stood there, her position a little off to the side from the center of his cell. Her hands folded over the top corners of the clipboard, and a small scar over two of her knuckles on her right hand stretched with the action. "My definition is the same as it's always been. I wouldn't be surprised to hear you were overcome by the same thoughts and emotions that always seem to get a rise out of you," she said, her voice losing its sharpness a little as she watched Reid stand. She never referred to him as Fire Wolf anymore unless she was in a professional environment, or surrounded by her colleagues. She knew the young man preferred Reid, and to be honest, so did she. She watched him closely as his expressions changed with the closing of his eyes. Her gaze pinpointed on the tightening of his jaw, and she knew he was fighting another outburst. The scientist took two steps to the side, an action done on reflex by now. She knew how to read him like a book. She had most certainly been spending enough time watching him to be able to do so.
Calmly, Vivian blinked once, her stature the same as before as she watched him reopen his eyes. Somewhere deep down there was a rush of pride that ran through her at how well he controlled himself, but she kept it well hidden, and simply stepped back to her previous spot and nodded in response to his words, a dainty scoff coming from her lips. "I know better than to waste my time on them. I wrote down the basic need-to-knows, and nothing more." Vivian rolled her eyes as one of her fellow scientists was called out, and she knew exactly of who he spoke. The woman had been a gushing mess and had nearly mauled Vivian down in her rush to explain what had happened. Quite honestly, Viv found the story funny. She truly wished she could have been there to see it all happen. But in all seriousness, Vivian wondered why nobody had tried to communicate with her in the slightest way if everyone had been having such trouble with Reid. No e-mails, phone calls, texts, nothing. Vivian rolled her shoulders lightly, one set of her fingers tapping against her clipboard, and peered between the bars to Reid, her eyes slightly alight with amusement. "You do know tearing a man to pieces does not help you any, correct?" she inquired, knowing full well he knew too. She liked to haggle people about things they had trouble with, though. It had become a bad habit of hers over the years.

"Ah." Reid answered as he stood there.
It was hard for him to believe but something about Vivian being around seemed to cage his stronger nature. Considering how chaotic things had gotten since her vanishing. No one had explained where she had gone to him, not like they would if he asked them. The first outrage he had when she had disappeared certainly was one to make the other scientists fear him greatly. He couldn't even remember how that went.
"They clearly didn't follow the need to knows as you know already." Reid said again.
He had seen Vivian take a small retreat. A sigh left him as his body finally started to loosen up. He really did hate it when his beastly nature took over or tried to. It was a pain and more of a headache bringer than the experiments or the tranquilizer darts. His scared up chest and arms could full be seen as he took a few steps out of the darker area of the cell. His shirt had been demolished during his outburst and only a small portion of his pants remained. Looking like a torn up pair of shorts really.
"I tried to hold it back but, being sucker punched when the chicken is squawking makes it harder." Reid answered, Vivian might've understood him better than anyone else, but he doubted she could understand the beast's rage when it was at a boil and in a fight.

A knowing nod made Vivian's shiny locks bounce as she responded to Reid's comment. He knew as well as she did that the other scientists were not the same as she. She enjoyed that fact, to be honest. She didn't like the thought of having to share Reid. Not in the possessive way that he was simply an item that belonged to her, but in a way that tapped down into something even deeper, even more personal than that. She hated thinking on the subject. There was no room for anybody in her heart anymore. Her real parents had given her away, her fake parents had beaten, terrorized, and tried to kill her, and the only truly kind person who she had let into her life had ended up dying in a tragic wreck. So no, there was no more room. It was all taken up by scar tissue and electric fencing. All the space was either taken up, or strictly off-limits. "Clearly. I didn't really expect them to. You can try to teach a dog the same trick day after day, but what good will it do if he is too slow in the head to pick it up in the first place?" Yes, this was her way of saying she viewed her co-workers as mentally challenged. No, it was not kind, and yes, it was wrong, but did she give a damn? No, she did not. And there would never be a day that she did.
The young woman reached down and straightened her creamy-white blouse for a quick second, and then moved on to do the same to her dark, black pencil-skirt just as quickly, her hand retreating back up to it's previous place as she heard Reid move in his cell. Vivian looked back up to him, her eyes taking in the rough condition of his clothing as he moved into the light. She grimaced mentally and made a quick note in her head to prepare some new clothing for him. Who knew what he had left in his cell. The brunette nodded curtly, keeping everything strictly professional, and shifted her weight from one foot to the other a little before settling it back onto her right side again. "I probably would have ripped the guy apart too. Just with different methods," she commented, musing over the thought. When she put her mind to it, she could talk people down to a pulp. Realizing that her comment wasn't the most helpful thing to say, Vivian cleared her throat then straightened her posture, not needing to look down to her notes on her clipboard to make assessments about her subject. "Can you tell me what happened over the course of my time away? I doubt anybody else will be able to, and if I can get the facts straight from you, that is what I want to do," she said, getting back on track.

"Agreed." Reid stated simply, he knew who she was referring to as the dog at this moment.
What was it about her? There was something she possessed that made his beast nature not be as rage full, he didn't understand. However, it didn't matter at the current moment. It was tiring to go through that constant rage and changing. Sure the changes didn't hurt as badly as they had when they had first started when he was a kid, but changing enough times would make him sore and tired. But he was a long way away from falling asleep.
A smile came to his face and he even laughed at her statement about tearing the guy to shreds. Her version to do it that is. Oh Reid had seen her do that before. It was probably her fourth month starting to work with him when one of the other scientists decided to try something stupid. Course the ruckus that was made seemed to summon the female and she made that one scientist get it. He put his hand on the left wall and he soon leaned against it, only to slid down to sit on the ground.
"Hm....interesting question." Reid said as he sat there, his amber eyes were closed as he exhaled. "Pretty much just tests to my knowledge. Mostly they were trying to see how long they could get me to stay in his form in a fight. Otherwise that's pretty much it."
His amber eyes opened and he glanced back over to her. They didn't carry the same glow they had when he was in the darker area of his cell, but it didn't matter. The other Scientists had him on edge due to how stupid they were. So his gaze was also keeping an eye out for them. If Vivian wasn't here, his whole body would be showing that he was on the lookout. But just like before, his beast nature was somehow more confined or caged when Vivian was about. Strange.
