Catherine walked out of her apartment with a grimaced on her face. The short blonde seemed rather distraught as she scaled down the scares in her light blue dress. The tag, on the collar that clung to her neck began to jingle with each step she took. It had been weeks since she left her apartment to go live with her boyfriend, Azoriat. About a week before she met him the woman accidentally destroyed her apartment after losing track of time during a full moon. Needless to say she’d never make that mistake again. Today, Catherine had gone back to see if anything could be salvaged but it didn’t seem likely. The whole place was a mess. Catherine’s were form had made quick work of all her belongings. Well, at least her land lady was oblivious to this. Once Cat returned she made up the excuse that the home was ransacked to her land lady. Luckily, her meager excuse worked. Who knew what would have happened if she found out about Catherine’s secret?
While at her apartment Catherine checked her mail. There was a stack of bills waiting for her, and one letter. This of course came as a surprise. Catherine hadn’t received a letter like this before. After opening it, she found out that her nephew Riolu was coming to stay with her. It took a few minutes for this news to register but when it did the poor woman began to freak out. There wasn’t a single kid near her apartment complex. Worst of all her land lady didn’t mention anything about anyone coming by her home. Where the hell could the kid be? He clearly wasn’t at the apartment.
Without hesitating Catherine hopped into her car and sped off down the road. She didn’t know where this kid could be hiding or how long he’d been out on the streets. The she-wolf’s eyes darted around, in hopes of finding anyone that resembled the baby she had seen so long ago. Catherine felt terribly for not coming by sooner. With her windows rolled down Catherine began to cruse down the road calling out to Riolu. She could only hope the kid was close enough to hear her. Catherine cursed to herself. How could she let something like this happen!? “DAMN IT!” The wolf huffed. This wasn’t going to work.
After parking onto the side of the road the woman climbed out of the car. She made sure no one else was around before she transformed. Human flesh began to sprout fur. Hands and feet became paws. Soon enough a female grey wolf stood in Catherine’s place. The woman had gotten a scent from the letter. She could only hope this scent could lead her to Riolu. With her ears cocked forward the wolf lowered her nose to the ground. She didn’t know if this would work. But hell, it was worth a shot. The tags that hung from the back collar jingled as she began to sniff around, eager to catch Riolu’s scent.

It was obvious how tired Riolu was, all this walking while carrying his small portion of belongings was making his legs and back hurt. To add onto it, a headache was starting to take over. He came to a pause on the sidewalk and sighed. He was never going to find his Aunt at this rate. If only he knew her scent or at least had a recent photo of her along with a name. Oh wait, his sense of smell wasn't like a wolf's either. He regretted not asking his father for more details before being driven to the airport. But his father most likely wouldn't have answered his questions to begin with.
Riolu removed his backpack and shoulder bag and placed them on the ground next to him. Rotating his shoulders, he tried to get some feeling back into them. The events so far had him puzzled and confused. If a large majority of the grown ups acted like what the people Riolu had met so far, what would the kids his age act like? A sigh left him.
He debated about calling Fern. He said he'd call her when he found something or at least found his Aunt. Asking her for details on their Aunt would probably just leave him as stumped as he currently was. True, Fern was more informed on their father's side of the family due to one fact. But she was the same age as him, so there was no way she'd know.
A sound came to his ears, it was very very faint. Instinctively, his wolf ears shot up. Riolu quickly raised his hands and placed them against the side of his head to the top. Trying to hide the furry things. However, the sound was louder now and more clearer. A jingling sound, like tags on a collar. He got his ears to return to normal and he removed his hands. Looking around for the source of the sound.
A dog perhaps? Riolu wondered.
OOC: It's fine.)

All this sniffing seemed to be getting Catherine nowhere. “Ugh, why do I have to be so stupid?” Catherine barked as she trotted off into an alley and transformed back into her human form. The petite woman placed her pale hand onto the cool brick wall as she walked. Surly, the kind would have been miles away by now, looking for food and a warm place to sleep. Tears began to whelp up within Catherine’s lovely blue eyes as she exited the ally. “Poor kid, he must be so scared…and alone-“The young woman stopped in mid step and lifted her sensitive nose to the heavens. What was this? Did she pick up on the scent?
Suddenly, Catherine’s nose began to flare. A scent! She managed to catch a scent on the wind. Now where was it coming from? Cat followed the smell. The aroma lead her to the street. After looking around she managed to spot a young boy sitting there on the sidewalk. Could this possible be the boy she had been looking for? Cat looked the boy over from afar; he appeared to have some belongings with him. He also appeared to be a teen, and possibly the same age as Riolu. Well, his scent matched with the note. Catherine prayed this was the boy she was looking for. The young female’s heart skipped a beat as she rushed over to him. Catherine bit her lip as she approached him. “Um, hello there. Is your name Riolu?”

Riolu stiffened as he heard something behind him, turning round slowly, his gaze fell on Cat. He was nervous to see someone suddenly there. Everyone he had meet so far had just randomly appeared out of nowhere. However, he relaxed a bit when she asked him his name. Riolu nodded.
"Yes, my name is Riolu." he started. "Riolu Moarterm."

Tears began to whelp up within the she wolf’s deep blue eyes when the boy before her confirmed his name. She’d found him! It felt as if a heavy weight had been lifted from Catherine’s chest. She couldn’t quit believe it. “Thank god!” Catherine yelled, wrapping her arms around the young boy. A wave of emotions seemed to pour from her very being. “I am so sorry for leaving you out on the street like this! I never meant for this to happen!” Catherine was so caught up in her apology that she had forgotten to introduce herself. For all Riolu knew, she was a random, crazy stranger. The foolish werewolf continuned to cling to Riolu for dear life. She was truly upset about this.
Soon Catherine dried her tears and released Riolu from her tight embrace. “I-I’m sorry.” She said with a sniffle. Cat began to wonder just how long this little human had been out on his own. Surly, he couldn’t have been on the streets for too long, right? After drying her tears Catherine looked Riolu over. A light smile then appeared onto her face. “You’ve grown so much, Riolu. You were just a baby when I last saw you.” With that Catherine slowly stood up and stretched. “Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. I am your aunt Catherine. I am supposed to be looking after you. I’m not off to a very good start, huh?” A light chuckle crept from Cat’s lips. It was truly a miracle that she managed to find him. From then on the she-wolf would vowel to never let this happen again. “I just can’t believe how big you are…Oh-Right, let’s get your stuff together. My car is just a block away.“

Riolu was surprised when Catherine hugged him. He went stiff as the she-wolf held him. He didn't know what to do, he was just surprised. Once she had released him, he manged to get a grip.
"It's nice to meet you Aunt Catherine. I'm sorry to have made you worried. Dad didn't give me directions to your house so....it made finding you harder." Riolu explained, he didn't mean to have worried her so badly.
He bent down and picked up his back pack, slipping his thin arms into it. Standing up straight, he had the strap for his shoulder bag in hand and he put the strap over his shoulder. Could she not tell how little werewolf was in him despite being half? So far it seemed like she couldn't tell. That was good. He wanted at least one family member besides his sister, to not see him as a disgrace. On his father's side of the family really. He would follow Catherine as soon as she headed toward the car, keeping close to her so she wouldn't have to worry.

Catherine cocked an eye brow as Riolu explained the situation. “It’s just like your father to do something like that.” Cat replied, rolling her eyes in irritation. Well, at least she managed to find the little Were. Who knows what would have become of him if she didn’t. The night of the full moon was closing in, and Riolu was still new. Catherine grimaced at the thought of the young male changing in an unknown location. Little did she know Riolu had a very interesting handicap. After shaking the horrid idea from her head Catherine began to leave Riolu to her car.
Cat stopped for a brief moment. She then turned to her company. “Here, let me help you.” The she-wolf reached for shoulder bag. Riolu already had a backpack to carry; the least she could do was help him with the other bag. After taking the bag Catherine yawned. It had been a long day. Not only did she have to work but rummaging through all the garbage at her home left the she-wolf exhausted. “I hope you don’t mind but we won’t be staying at my place. I kinda' destroyed it during the last full moon. I’m sure you already know all about our family’s secret.” Catherine said as they approached the car. She unlocked the door and placed the shoulder bag in the back seat. “We will be staying with my boyfriend, Azoriat. He already knows about the supernatural world.” Catherine mentioned as she made her way over to the passenger side and opened it for Riolu. “Will that be ok with you?”

Yeah...just like his father when it came to him. His father kept him out of the loop pretty much due to his differences. He came to a halt when Catherine did and as she reached for the bag he nodded and allowed her to take it. He didn't feel like she needed to do it, but it seemed polite and a way to make up for her having to look for him.
"It's okay." Riolu answered. "And yes...I...I know about that."
It was kind of hard not to know when his sister had gone through the change and sprang for him. Course, that was her first change and he couldn't blame her. They had just had a sibling argument prior to it so....she had a reason to go for him. Although, he always left his sibling alone when it was around that time. Considering he didn't go through it. He entered the care at the passenger side and removed his back pack, placing it on the floor of the car where his feet where.
She'll find out eventually but....but for how long can I keep it secret? Riolu wondered as he sat there, he put the seat belt on as the thought went through his head. I'll have to come up with something to explain it to prevent her from finding out....but...but what?

Catherine smiled as Riolu got settled in. She watched carefully as he put his seat belt on. Deep down Cat had always wanted a child of her own. The she-wolf doubted she would get any children from Azoriat. They were so different, it would be impossible (or so she thought). Despite this she still loved the demon the death. Catherine was just happy to see her little nephew. For once, she had something to take care of.
With a lighthearted smile Catherine put her own seat belt on before starting up the car. “So are you hungry?” Catherine asked as she pulled out onto the road. “I was thinking we could hunt in my territory. I have a nice piece of land out in the woods- “ With a loud chuckle the woman shook her head. She sounded so ridiculous. “What am I thinking? You just got here, I’m sure you are exhausted. Don’t hesitate to ask me for anything. Ok, Hun? I will be happy to get you anything your little heart desires.” It was clear that Catherine was going to be one of those aunts that spoil their family members. She was excited to have someone from her family visit. It was a very rare occasion.

Upon hearing the offer to hunt, Riolu went stiff for a moment. What was he going to tell her? It would be rude to refuse it right? And he couldn't always refuse it....that be even more rude. However, he relaxed a bit when she seemed to decide against the idea.
"I'm okay." Riolu said as he sat there, knowing if he didn't answer she would ask what was wrong. "Al...alright."
His Aunt surely was happy to have him. This only confirmed his suspicion of his Aunt not knowing about his defects. That made him relax a bit more. However, he remembered the encounters he had when he was looking for his Aunt. How easily Isabelle had figured it out.
"Say....Aunt Catherine..." Riolu started a bit nervous. "Is it....is it possible for certain traits to be delayed in showing?"
He knew that his werewolf traits weren't delayed, he was genetically a defect, pure and simple. But if the time ever came for when she asked him why he wouldn't go hunting with her or anything. He'd tell her that was why. It would buy him some time. He just needed to confirm the theory.

It wouldn’t be too much longer now. Only a few more blocks until the two made it to Azoriat’s home. The young werewolf was excited, she could barely contain herself. Catherine has decided to take the short cut to get to Azoriat’s place. The faster she could get Riolu settled into his new environment the better. It had to be hard for the poor male to leave his home at such a young age. Catherine vowed to take care of the young werewolf as if he were her own child. Little did she know, Riolu was holding back a rather embarrassing secret; one that was a great cause for concern. He didn’t have the ability to transform.
Oh, the werewolf couldn’t wait to introduce Riolu to her boyfriend, Azoriat. She was excited to see if they would get along. Cat hadn’t seen Azoriat really interact with children. It would be an interesting to see how he would act around Riolu. Of course Catherine would be protective of her dear nephew. The maternal instinct had already started to kick in. If Azoriat tried anything funny with Riolu, she would surly bear her fangs. Catherine allowed the male to get away with a lot, but harming her nephew wouldn’t be an option. A pleased smile appeared onto Catherine’s face as she listed to Riolu talk. She could tell he was a bit nervous. Suppose it was only natural? He was moving into a new place, with new people. It would surly take him a while to fit in, but until then Cat would be by his side. “Don’t worry, everything is going to be okay.” Catherine replied with a reassuring smile. “You don’t have to be shy around me Riolu, I am are here for you alright?”

Riolu wondered if she heard his question about the delay in thing showing. Perhaps she did hear it and the responses of everything was gonna be alright was her response to it? Riolu couldn't tell. All he could tell was that he was just left a bit more confused than he was before. He only nodded his head to answer her question. Did he have the hear to repeat his question? No. No he didn't.
His gaze went to the window and he stared at what was outside of it. What to do? How was he gonna keep this a secret from her? His hands went into his pockets. In his right pocket he could feel the black cellphone there, still and silent. It was still on but thankfully no one had called. Should he call his sister? No. He'd wait till he was alone for that.
OOC: Sorry for it being a offish post.)

Catherine was so excited. She could barely contain herself. Finally, she had something to take care of. Suppose Riolu would be a trial run for Azoriat and herself. Cat had always wanted a child of her own. She’d never introduced Azoriat to anyone, well other than her pet spider, Zoe. It would be interesting to see how the two interact; especially now that there was another male in the house. This was going to be a very interesting visit.
Suddenly Catherine snapped out of her daydream when the car got quiet. “Oh! S-sorry, Hun.” She replied with a kind smile. Now, what had they been talking about? It took Cat a moment or two to remember. She thought back to his question and took a minute to think it over. Riolu had been the first ‘kid’ werewolf she’d met; well aside from her brother. His question was interesting enough. Perhaps he hadn’t experienced the changed yet? That would be very strange to say the least. “I’m not too sure, Riolu. When I was young I changed at a very young age. My brother changed a week after me. I suppose Werewolves changes can be delayed. Why? Is there something wrong?” Catherine turned to Riolu. Concern could be seen in those deep blue eyes of hers. Was there a reason behind Riolu coming to visit her? Did it have to do with the change? Catherine shook the idea out of her head. That couldn’t be right.

"It's okay." Riolu said when the silence was broken. "No...I....I was just wondering. Curious was all."
The concern in her eyes was obvious and that made him nervous. Great, his question caused her concern and now she would most likely be looking for any unusual signs. Well, unusual for a werewolf child. He tried to think of a way to get off of this conversation. There just had to be a way to assure her right?
"Everything's fine Aunt Catherine. I promise. I was just curious." Riolu said as he sat there.
OOC: It's okay. Short and horrible. Sorry.)

Catherine cocked an eye brow. “Curious?” The woman had begun to suspect that something was up. Why would Riolu ask her such a question if nothing was wrong? Then again, he was still a young pup. Curiosity was normal for a hound of his age. Suppose it was just in his nature? Catherine would let the subject slide for now; though the question still plagued that mind of hers. Was there something wrong with Riolu? Catherine could recall her brother being a bit of a late bloomer. It was possible that Riolu was the same way. “Oh, ok.” She replied with a forced smile. Cat wouldn’t hold this against him. Everyone was different. It didn’t take long for the car to pull into the neighborhood. Azoriat and Catherine lived on the high end of town. The werewolf was lucky enough to find a mate who had both power and money. “I really hope you enjoy your stay, Riolu.” After a quick drive through the estate the car came to a stop in front of a large, mansion-like home. The place looked fairly clean from the outside. Azoriat always made sure the groundskeepers did their job well. They all were his eternal slaves after all. Catherine parked the car and turned to Riolu. “So, what do you think? The outside looks rather nice yes?” The woman then turned the car off. “I don’t think Azoriat is home right now. I suppose you can get to know him later.” Unbuckling her seat belt the woman then stepped out of the car and stretched.
With a smile the woman strolled over to the side of the car, opened it up and began collecting Riolu’s things. “After you get settled in we can discuss dinner, ok?”
(another blah post.)
