One of the best things about coming home from work is that you get to just chill and relax. You know? It's just so nice to be able to lay low if only for a little bit. Chilling on the couch, watching some TV or playing a game... Yeah, it's nice. Matthew was practically ready to start stripping in the cafe he was so ready to be done with his shift. All he wanted to do was go home and either take a nap or watch a movie. He was mentally exhausted at the moment. His parents had been nagging at him about life again, his sister was off wasting her life away with some hopeless excuse of a guy, and he was getting absolutely nowhere with Silence. Dammit! Matt tapped his fingers against the cafe's front counter impatiently. Any second now... Finally! His shift was over. About time. The young man smiled widely at his fellow coworkers then pulled off his apron, leaving him in a plain white button up and black slacks. His typical work outfit. Drawing in a deep breath, Matt put his black apron away and clocked out, dragging a hand back and forth through his hair a couple times to muss it up a bit. He always kept it "semi" decent for work, but usually it was just wild and everywhere. He didn't really care.
Settling into his car, the tall blonde turned the ignition and set off for home. Well, as much as an apartment could be considered home. Of course he didn't own a house of his own yet, and he did not live with his parents. No. If he lived with them, he would surely go mad. Turning the radio on, Matt tapped his thumbs against the steering wheel as he drove to his apartment, his fingers in perfect rhythm with the music. It was loud, but not obnoxiously loud. A low sigh dragged out from his mouth as he thought about what he forgot earlier. He needed to pick up a few groceries and when he got home he should really go on a run. It's not like he didn't like running. He loved it, actually. What he was dreading was the grocery shopping. It was not his thing whatsoever. Matthew rolled his neck slightly and let out a yawn. He was nearly home, now. Just a couple more moments passed and he pulled into the parking lot. Glancing behind himself into his backseat, he ignored the bike he had shoved over the seats and reached back, pulling his pair of gym shoes toward him. Might as well get the run done and over with first. But not before stopping in the apartment and just... Checking things over first. More like procrastinating, but that doesn't matter. Matthew yawned again as he stepped out of his car, his shoes and keys in his right hand as he slammed the door shut with his other. He stood there and stretched his back out for a quick second, hearing it crack all the way down, then let out a pleased sigh and started toward his apartment.
Okay... What the hell. Why was the front window to his apartment... Why was it... It was melted. Just completely lost. Matt stood there for a second, just trying to comprehend what he was seeing. He glanced to his right. Those apartments were fine. He turned to the left. So were those. His gray eyes flashed back to his own apartment. Dammit... Hesitantly, Matt made his way closer, trying to keep his dress-shoe-covered feet silent as he stepped to his front door. He peered in through the melted window. Goddammit! His place was a complete mess! How had nobody noticed this and not notified the authorities?! Matthew hit his forehead with the heel of his hand for a minute before drawing in a deep breath. Hopefully whoever the hell had done this was gone. Just in case though... The young man jogged back quickly to his car, unlocked it, grabbed his random baseball bat he had hanging around in the bottom of his trunk, then locked his car back up and returned to his front door. Now or never. Readying himself, Matt slowly turned the handle. It was unlocked. Had he forgotten to lock it this morning? And if he had, why the hell was the window melted? The young man groaned quietly then walked into his apartment, his head down slightly as he peered around the door. It was such a mess. Such, such a mess. This absolutely sucked. All he wanted to do was come home, go for a run, and then relax. Screw the groceries, he wasn't actually planning on getting them anyways.
Pulling himself together, Matthew silently placed his gym shoes down on the floor and placed his car keys into the toe of one of them. He stood up straight again and placed both hands on his bat, his gaze skimming the main room of his apartment. Well, everything was completely screwed over. Things were everywhere, all of his items were out of place, and his TV was missing. Sh*t. So much for watching movies. The twenty-three-year-old shook his head for a quick second then immediately paused when he heard a noise. He could hear... Movement. One of his neighbors coming to check out the mess that they had SO EASILY MISSED?! Or the person who had actually caused this chaos? Matthew turned and glanced out the melted window. Nope. Nobody there. He swore, he had the worst neighbors sometimes. Facing forward again, Matt swallowed stiffly once then took a few steps further into the apartment, making sure to not step on anything. He didn't want to give himself away. If this person in here really was the burglar, then he was going to have to be prepared to pull a sneak attack on them. And if they were a neighbor... Well. Screw them too. Matt stood still for a moment and listened closely, his brow drawing together and his lip jutting out slightly as he tried to hear another noise. Aha! He did! Nodding to himself in self-encouragement, the young man started to head closer to the noise, his knuckles turning white as his grip tightened on the bat. Rounding the corner into the only room that the noise could be coming from - the room that would ultimately be cornering whoever was in there, aka his bedroom - Matt settled his eyes on the culprit. She was not what he was expecting. At all.
"W-what... What the hell? What the f*ck are you doing in my apartment?!"

Impulses were a hard thing to ignore for some people, while some people had a good grip on their impulses, or at least only really caved into minor ones some people had more trouble with it. And then there were people like Sera, the kind of people that really didn’t give a sh*t about the consequences of their actions. Seraphina hadn’t really thought about what had brought her to this apartment building, to this particular apartment for a raid. A good deal of the time Sera took a bit more care in the places that she robbed, choosing a target that looked like it had some valuables, surveying the area to know what times the place would be empty just to gauge how much time she would have to clean the place of its goods before the owners came home. And then there were times like this, where she threw all caution to the wind just for a random raid. Pehaps it was boredom that led her to do it. There was no shortage of that today. Sera had been out and about all morning but had almost nothing of interest happen today. She didn’t even get to fist fight anyone yet, how crazy was that? She was just so damn bored that by the time she had wandered over by this street and saw that apartment window she couldn’t help but cave into her impulse to raid.
It was ridiculously easy to get into the building, but that wasn’t much of a surprise. Apartment buildings always had low security. Unless she was trying to sneak into the front or back entrance it wasn’t too hard to break in. Even then it wasn’t too hard to get in if she just waited or charmed her way inside the building. Sneaking into a room through a window was a breeze for her. All it took was a little heat and she melted a big enough hole in the damn thing to crawl through. Within moments the Solaris had stepped inside and the real fun began. It was pretty fun rummaging through the owner’s stuff, picking out stuff that was remotely valuable and just trashing the rest. There wasn’t much that she could turn for profit of course. She wasn’t really surprised given the location she was in. But hey, making a lot of money wasn’t the main priority here, she was here to keep herself busy and make a little side cash doing so. No harm done right? Well, no harm done for her at least. The same couldn’t be said for the poor sap, or saps that lived in this apartment but who gave a sh*t about them?
It only took the young woman a little over an hour to go through most the apartment (making a quick trip to hotwire a car to put the stolen goods in for when she would leave). All that was left now was the master bedroom. Sera hummed happily as she searched through the room. There wasn’t much in the line of small valuables in the place, not surprising really. After only spending a few minutes in the place it was obvious the owner of this apartment was a young man. The most valuable stuff she could find were electronics at best, the TV, game consoles, and a few other gadgets here and there. The only other big item she could see of value was the computer which she planned to nick last. She wasn’t going to find much in the way of jewelry here. But that didn’t mean that there weren’t some valuable accessories there. Seraphina eyed a simple gold wristwatch she found, trying to guess if it was really as expensive as it looked. Probably not, but maybe Damien would like it. It never hurt to give Mr. sourpuss a gift once in awhile.
Just as she was about to pocket it she heard a voice. sh*t, looked like someone was back early. Sera turned to face the speaker. Despite the fact that she had been caught red handed, and he was holding a bat she didn’t seem too worried about the whole mess. In fact, she smiled at the dude like it was no big deal. “Easy there buddy.” She teased. “I wouldn’t do anything crazy with that little wooden stick you got there. It will take a lot more than a little old bat to take me down. Why don’t you put that thing down so we can have a friendly little chat hm?”

Silence looked down as she walked. She was testing her self-control to the max right now, without wearing her sunglasses as she passed by hundreds of people on the streets. She could feal each of their heartbeats as they walked by, she could hear their inner souls, their inner demons. And of course, the occasional ginger who didn't have a soul. It was funny because she knew that her race was the one to start such a fadding trend. Of course they had souls, they were just harder to hear or sense for a Silencer of even the highest blood. Ile smiled slightly at the little joke, her hands in her pocket as she walked forward. Ile was heading toward the apartments. Why? Because of the alleys. The darker ones always had some sort of street rat in them, or a loner no one would miss if the girl ever so carefully stole his or her soul, along with their life. Maybe that could hold her over for awhile, because she was guaranteed to run into Matthew at some point. Or more like he would run into her. That human had a knack for scoping out the ones who tried to escape, it's like he were a f*cking police dog or something sniffing out a few drugs at an airport. So easy for him, and extremely irritating for the drug dealer- or in this case, herself. It was sad really, how much she wanted to murder him painfully.
But she couldn't. Mostly because a mutation in her blood- blood that would typically be on the highest end of the scale- gave her that teeny little human emotion known as empathy. It made her have feelings for the things she killed. How stupid was that? It even grew into that even more awkward emotion called love. She loved Matthew, and for some reason that only made her want to kill him even more. One time she'd nearly blacked out from the amount of stress and pressure she had to force onto herself to keep from ripping his throat open. It was slightly terrifying, and it made things worse considering Matthew didn't fully understand. Ile knew Matt was human, and he in turn knew she was not human, but he didn't know exactly what she was. He probably knew how easily Silence could destroy him, but he probably had some misconstrued faith that she wouldn't lay a harming hand on his body. What Matthew didn't know was how wrong he was. Ile would definitely harm him, if she stayed near him too long. There was no way around the fact that she wanted to tear him to pieces every second of everyday that even just thinking of him made things difficult at times. But Ile was learning self control. Was it for him? Maybe. She was pretty selfish sometimes, but only toward humans. Not around humans, Silence was actually very entertaining and friendly. No one seemed to be able to understand that her race was created to murder humans and anything or being that stood in their way. It sucked bad because sometimes Ile just really, really wanted to hug Matthew, because she knew that he cared for her the same way she did for him, but Matt would never comprehend that she ran from him to protect him, because one day her self control will wear thin.
Upon reaching the apartments, Ile couldn't help but take the risk of looking up. A melted window? Cool. The girl took it as a chance to see what was going on up there, because a melted window definitely meant something supernatural was lingering about. Crouching down, Silence sprung up to the window ledge beneath the melting one, and jumped one more time, grabbing hold of the stone and gracefully flinging herself atop it. Peering inside, she heard a voice. Eyes widened, she looked about the place. It was slightly messy, and that voice belonged to none other than Matthew. Rapidly fumbling for her sunglasses, Ile put them over her eyes and walked toward the sound. Oh ho ho, who was this b*tch threatening Matthew? Okay so it wasn't a full on threat, but the other females presence upset Ile. Crossing her arms and raising a brow, the girl put all her weight on her left side. "No, but I think I'm perfectly capable of handling a little heat," she declared coolly. Obviously this chick was an intruder, and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out she was a fire-something by the melted window.
Ile did her best to refrain from looking at Matthew or around his bedroom. She didn't want to get more attached to him or his belongings, and god knows he would give her sh*t later, teasing her about how she gets to go into his home but he isn't allowed to even touch her. It was frustrating, because Matthew would never understand. He would never know, and Ile couldn't ever explain it. And to be perfectly honest, she didn't think she would if she could. She didn't want to terrify Matthew, and knowing his stubbornness, he would only try harder to prove to Ile that he was capable of handling her. Which, he wasn't. At least, not all of the time. After this encounter, Ile was going to have to disguise herself as a different human, and totally hide from Matthew. It didn't happen too often, her little disappearing tactic; considering Matthew never found her and she never had a reason to show up, her evasion was mostly flawless. But it was days like today she walked in town in hopes of seeing him, if only from afar. Damn human emotions, no wonder some of them killed themselves on a daily basis! Not that Silence was really dumb enough to do such a thing- it was against her instincts, after all. And we knew how well she was enslaved to those.
