Life could be a frustrating thing sometimes. Life always had this tendency of making the things one wanted harder to achieve than it should be, or to take all your hard work and planning and throw it back in your face. There were plenty of people in the world, and outside of it that had to live with failure. Most of those people could embrace that fact and try to make the best of it with little complaints. But Kojireru was not one of those people. Far from it. Koji was the kind of man that always got his way in the end, and liked it. When Koji wanted something he always got it. If he wanted a woman to bed he could just step outside and find a suitable woman. If he wanted riches they would always come to him, and if he felt like taking the head of his enemies people would be rushing to be the first to deliver their heads to him, very rarely did he not get his way. Ever since he had lost his childhood home the spoiled demon got everything he ever wanted. Until he came here and met Alessandria.
Anger and frustration filled his mind at the mere thought of that woman. Though she was pretty to look out Aless had become a nuisance that had to be dealt with. She had been nothing more than a stepping stone for the young demonic male when he first partnered with her. While he admired her intellect, strength, and tenacity, he had little interest in sharing his glory with her. Aless’s goals were simply too small. While she sought to completely control the black market, Koji wanted to control the world. Working in the black market was just one way for him to get to that final goal. Just like it had been back during his early years in the human realm with his prostitute mother, money equaled power. While Koji was the leader of the one and only clan of dream eaters and always had wealth and control, he had next to nothing here. His mother died a horrible death and left him nothing, and any relative of hers, even if they hadn’t abandoned her before he was born probably had very little to give. Not like that would do him any good when he only returned to the world about 400 years after they had long died.
He needed to work his way to wealth and thus power, so he joined Aless in the hopes that he could take her place when she least expected it. The problem was she found out before he could do it. It angered him to no end that she found out about his plans! Now all his hard work had been thrown out the window and he had to start fresh. Well, at least not completely fresh. In the end he escaped the Nymph’s clutches and now took over one of her competitors. Now he had money, not as much money but it was a good damn start. If he played his cards right he could still take Aless down and steal her company from her. He couldn’t wait to put some fear in that damn arrogant woman and teach her, her damn place. But he needed a lot of assistance to do that. Kojireru watched the clock on the wall tick by as he sat at his new desk, his fingers tapping on the desk in impatience. Today he was suppose to meet with some of the hired help for just that, but it seemed that they were running a little late. Where the hell were they?
The door to the office opened and Koji watched as an old man entered the room. His mood lightened a little at the sight of his loyal servant. “Oyaji.” He cooed. “It’s nice of you to pay a visit…I trust you have some good news for me?” the old man bowed to him before he spoke.
“The mercenary has arrived.”
“Good, send him in.” Koji watched Hermes open the door to let their guest in and smiled once more. “Nice of you to show up.” He greeted the man.
