Nurses and doctors bustled about the hospital, all with something to do. One nurse specifically, walked casually to a room down one of the many halls, arriving outside a number marked with 103. She opened the door and closed it behind her, a smile on her lips, "Well, this should do it Alex. I still don't understand why you don't just go to the hospital in Pheonix instead of flying all the way over here." the nurse said, handing the man a white prescription bag. "Thank you, and because Julie; then I have to explain the story all over again to a whole new person. Maria sent me to you specifically, so... why change it?" Alex answered, taking the back and rolling it up around the pill bottle inside as he then put on his jacket and sticking the back in an internal pocket. "Heh... true. Well... have a good flight back to Pheonix, Alex." "I'll certainly try. Airport security is... a joy to get through." Alex chuckled and then said his good-bye's before leaving.
Outside he began the walk back to his hotel, but not before opening his umbrella. Today was raining, not the best of days to walk back to your room, but it didn't bother him too much, he stayed 90% dry anyways. He did remind himself to be careful at street crossings though, the puddles in the road would turn him from toasty and dry to a walking mop in a single pass and he doubted even his umbrella could save him from that. Chester waited for him back at the hotel no doubt expecting his meal so Alex would most likely have to stop by the store. He had ran out of canned food yesterday and Alex wasn't sure when he' be heading back to Pheonix. He purchased a one way ticket for a single reason only. It was cheaper. Now he'd begin keeping track of flights back to Arizona that were as cheap or cheaper than his previous ticket. He could be here for just a few more days... or a few weeks, there was no way of knowing.

"Stupid....ass...pyros...."
The girl trudged to the nearby hospital painfully, getting soaked in the pouring rain that added to her misery. A thin jacket lay haphazardly on her shoulders, most of the fabric shielding her right arm from view. A passerby with good perception would notice that her teeth were clenched tightly together inside her closed mouth, and tears threatened to spring to her eyes. She never imagined that fire would cause her so much stupid pain!- the thought caused the girl's shoulder to pang uncomfortably. Not that it had ever stopped.
Quinn had been walking for what felt like forever. She had just been taking a little nap after a particularly taxing day at work when she woke up to an odd smell. It smelled like smoke, but...somewhat contaminated. She remembered choking on the thin but suffocating smoke and finding the culprits to be a group of what looked like teenagers throwing homemade Molotov cocktails into her house. They seemed to be under the influence of SOMETHING, so she hadn't wanted to hurt them- not to mention the rain was sucking her power away from her by the second -but as they ran, one of the boys threw another bottle in through the window. Whether he was aiming or it was a stroke of bad luck, she didn't know, but the bottle had shattered on her right arm, and the mix of the chemicals that had been used in the concoction and the rainwater that splashed from the wet bottle to her skin rendered her completely unable to use her power to put the fire out before any real damage was done. The shock of the pain that the fire brought to her left her frozen in the middle of her bedroom before she finally screamed and jumped into the shower to put the fire out.
Now she was on her way to the hospital. The burns were severe- who knew that they had spilled oil in their mix? Water didn't work at all, so not only was she completely powerless, she had to find and somehow operate the fire extinguisher to put it out. How embarrassing...and what was she going to tell her family when they got back from that funeral? "Me? I'm fiiiiine. If you think this is bad, you should see the house- oh yeah. It's probably a pile of ash by now," Quinn said aloud. No one noticed- perhaps they thought she was on the phone. Technology these days.... To be positive, she was glad she wasn't human. Even though the burns had affected her as they would a human, once the fire was out, she had been able to think long enough to run and get the important pictures and documents from the spot in her parents' room and get it outside where the fire wouldn't hurt it. It was in the driveway. The fire department would take proper care of it. But where was she going to stay that night...?
As she fumed, she knocked into someone one the sidewalk. The pain that resulted from the impact caused her eyes to widen and her already-pale skin to turn a shade lighter. A cry escaped her lips and she stumbled, sagging onto conveniently-placed bench and staring at the ground, gasping raggedly as she tried to fight the pain. The jacket had dragged off of her a little bit- creating more pain that she didn't need -and now a patch of badly burned skin could be seen from the side. She noticed..she meant to fix it...but she couldn't move. What was she going to do now...?

As Alex walked, he dared the flex his right arm a bit. The rain didn't harm it, but what he didn't want was people asking questions about it. The nurse had removed the cloth on the arm when it was removed and didn't think to put it back on so now the titanium gleamed in the dim light. Well, he supposed he could just keep walking and act like he hadn't heard them. Rude, but it would work. There was a feint smell of smoke in the air, the rain making it heavy but he saw no smoke cloud, if there had been a fire, it had gone on while he was in the hospital. He shrugged it off, though hoped whoever the fire effected would be alright.
As he walked, his direction towards the local grocery store, someone bumped roughly into his left arm and he saw the person stumble out of the corner of his eye, but the concerning part was the short cry of pain the person emitted. "My apologies..." Alex said and turned to look at the person who had bumped into him, "Hey, are you alright- oh my..." Alex gasped and rushed over to the person, which he could define now as a woman. He could make out the burned skin on her shoulder. No doubt the rain hitting the skin was only worse.
"Here..." he mumbled and stuck the shaft of the umbrella between his left arm and carefully pulled the jacket back on, "Lets get you to the hospital..." he finished and took the umbrella and placed it so it kept the rain off of the woman who he could see was obviously in pain. Alex didn't mind getting wet, water wouldn't hurt his arm either so he had nothing to worry about but a cold, and even then, this woman had more risk of getting one than him, she was soaked to the bone.

Quinn's mind whirled madly under the influence of the pain. She felt weirdly warm and cold at the same time- granted, she was warmer than humans, but this was...different. It was getting...worse. A fever? Could she have gotten a fever? And the cold, so much cold...soaking wet. Rain. It was raining. She was never going to make it at this point....
The girl in her haze looked up when her heard a voice. It was a man, he looked worried...maybe. She couldn't tell. She looked down at the jacket on her shoulders- why was she wearing this jacket? Maybe because it was raining? Why wasn't it on her arms? "The burn...it hurts! she complained to no one in particular. Maybe the man was paying attention to her. Maybe. She could remember the reason fairly clearly now. The fire burned at her arm for a long time. It felt like hours, but it might have been five to ten minutes...or something. It was bad...she was scared when she had seen it. A charred, bloody mess, white showing where the skin and muscle tissue had been burned to the bone. Such a bad burn..on a Solaris. How embarrassing...and it hurt so much!!
Quinn felt herself being lifted up. Her arm hadn't started hurting any worse, so maybe whoever was carrying her was being careful? She didn't know the man, or who was carrying her now, as her eyes were closed, and she finally gave up. A sob escaped her throat, then another, and soon the tears followed. She pressed her face into the nearest, warmest thing she could find- was it a shoulder? Or someone's chest? Her forehead burned and her body shook with her sobs as she felt herself getting carried along. Was she going to the hospital? She would have to thank the man...her head was starting to hurt. She began to cry harder- would anything on this day go well?
"Please...help me. Help it stop hurting!"

Alex quickly helped the woman along to the hospital, those ten minutes of brisk walking no doubt was causing her pain, but without a car they had no other choice. What had happened to this woman? Obviously she was burned, but why? By who? When? So many questions but he didn't want to ask them, not right now. The subject was no doubt, still touchy with emotions. When she cried out in pain about the burn, Alex couldn't stand it anymore, it would take too long walking at this slow pace. He leaned down and carefully picked the woman up, the umbrella forgotten on the sidewalk as he continued on with large, fast steps.
Another 6 minutes and Alex finally arrived at the hospital, rushing in quickly to the front desk. "She's been burned." Alex said, out of breath and the nurse at the desk was shocked but quickly picked up the phone on the counter, who voice carrying down the halls over intercom and within a minute a group of nurses and doctors rushed towards Alex, one with a stretcher. "We'll take here from here." a man said and Alex nodded, gently setting her down on the stretcher, avoiding setting her down on her shoulder. The group rushed off leaving Alex by the counter. "Sir?" the nurse from the counter spoke, but Alex didn't hear her, still his mind was a jumbled mess. "Sir?" the woman said louder and Alex looked at her. "Huh? Oh, yes?" "Do you know this woman?" "No... we uh... bumped into each other on the street..." "Do you know what happened? "No... I'm sorry." "Don't worry, please, take a seat." the nurse offered and Alex did so. He didn't want to leave yet, wanting to make sure this woman would be okay and perhaps find out what had happened to her.

Quinn nearly blacked out on the way to the hospital. When she opened her eyes what felt like hours later, she was in a clean room with bright lights surrounded by...doctors? Was this the hospital? They were yelling about...something. Temperature...115. She WAS running a fever. She didn't think that they had noticed that she was awake, and that may not have been a good thing.... She sat up and looked around, feeling that her eyes were glowing.
"Listen up. If any of you can tell me what a Solaris is, stay. Everyone else leave. Now." She watched as several of the doctors blanched and walked out, probably because of her eyes. One doctor stayed, removing his mask and watching her. "Can you get something for my fever...? My head is starting to hurt..." As Quinn spoke, her arm spontaneously combusted. She had totally forgotten- she wanted to go to the hospital in case the blood loss did something funny to her, and was glad she did. The last time she got sick, she nearly set the house on fire herself. Her teeth came together as she growled. If she weren't sick from the stupid rain she would kill those boys for what they did... Ugh, the house....
"Where will I stay...? It's supposed to rain for, like, three days...." Quinn looked at the doctor who was completely ignoring the fire on her arm. "Any luck on that medicine..?"
"No. I'm sorry. I can have something sent in by tomorrow, but you'll have to make it through tonight. And your arm will still be hurting, but I don't have strong enough painkillers." Quinn sighed quietly, looking down and nodding. She knew. She knew it would hurt for a long time, and that tonight was going to be one of the roughest nights she had ever lived through. She held her head in her good hand, exhaling shakily. She didn't like being scared...especially not in public. Oh no...had that man seen her crying? Her face heated more as she thought about it. How could she face him? And he probably saw her arm- she couldn't explain that!! She hit her head with the hell of her hand and cried out quietly, groaning. That wasn't smart at all.... Well, there was no use in hiding the fact now. The doctor had gone to see if the man was still there, and now that her arm had its shape back- charred and black as it was -she would have no choice but to tell him..well..everything. If he asked, of course. Which he would, more than likely. Why wouldn't he? Not like arms just randomly healed and girls normally survived temperatures of...117. Great, great, great. Her body was starting to dry off too. This was bad, really, really bad....
The doctor walked in with the man and Quinn looked up, frowning guiltily when she saw that he was wet. Probably her fault.... She glanced down at her arm and the beeping monitors and looked back at him, convinced that her cheeks were burning the color of the fire that had burned her arm.... Speaking of her arm, the temporary numbness was already starting to wear off. This was going to be a disaster....

Alex was sitting forward in the hospital chair, waiting for a doctor or nurse to inform him how the woman was doing. He was lost in his thoughts, wondering how she had come across such a burn and was wondering if perhaps it was from the fire that had happened earlier. Though he didn't see it, he had caught the smell. He looked up as he heard footsteps and a man approaching him. He listened as he said that the woman was alright and that he could see her. He nodded and followed the doctor down the hall and to the room. Inside the doctor left them alone. His hair was drying a bit but still clung to his face. It was a feeling he didn't like too much so he quickly brushed it back with his hand.
"The doctor says you'll be okay." Alex broke the silence as he looked at the woman. He walked to the window to look outside, no... still pouring rain. He wouldn't want to walk home in that. Perhaps he'd call the cab then. "So... if you don't mind me asking..." he paused and turned around from the window, "What happened? Where you attacked or... something?" he asked, his expression curious but also worried.

Quinn looked at the man quizzically as he walked to the window. Had he not noticed that her arm wasn't...as bad as it had been before? She watched as he glanced out of the window, and frowned a little. Rain...she didn't want to go out in that again. Maybe she could spend a night in the hospital? Nah..they'd ask why and check her up again and with her fever they'd probably contact the PIDA or something. Or call her parents. Or...she didn't really know what they would do. Whatever it was probably wouldn't be worth it, what with the damage she'd cause and all of the questions they would ask. Maybe she should find a cave somewhere and stay in that. Even if she didn't stay wet, the fire wouldn't be able to damage much of anything.
Her mind turned from her worrying to the man when he spoke again. He'd said something before...- that the doctor said she would be okay. Right. That was an overstatement. The man asked about the burn- of course. She had expected that, but the memory of it made her shiver. Or was that her fever making her cold? She was already dry, even her hair. Oh crap... "My hair better not be on fire..." she muttered, starting to feel the effects of the fever on her actions again. Gods, she probably sounded like she was insane. She looked up at the man and sighed heavily.
"A group of teenagers were throwing Molotov cocktails into my house. Conveniently, I was taking a nap, and one of the bottles hit my arm." Her voice shook as she hung her head again. "I...I,I couldn't get it out.... There was so much smoke and I c,couldn't put out the fire. Th,the house...I,I think it's mostly gone, and I..." Tears started to fill her eyes. "I,I,I don't know where I'm going to go...!" Quinn burst into tears, her head pounding as she rested it on her hands. How pathetic.... Crying in front of a total stranger. At least the water would keep her temperature from causing a flare but how long would that last? The ash that was her arm burned red for a second when a tear fell on it, and she whimpered at the spike of pain, gritting her teeth and turning her head away from the man in a desperation attempt to hide her face from him. This could not get any more embarrassing.

Hair on fire what? Alex raised a brow at the woman. What on earth did she mean by that? He didn't say anything though, and he soon lost his chance as she went on to explain what had happened. So she had come from that fire! Alex was sad for this woman, even more-so as she began to cry. He sighed, but not out of exasperation. He walked over to the bedside and placed his hands in his pockets, "No... family members here for you to stay with?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head. "Listen... I know you.. barely know me heh... I don't know you really either but if you want a place to crash for a few days... you can at my hotel room? I'll be here for some time I'm sure. Been trying to find a flight back to Pheonix that didn't leave me dead broke." he said with a casual shrug, "Only other person besides myself there is my cat." Alex smiled but he wasn't too sure if offering this woman a place was the best of ideas.
His eyes trailed over to her injured arm... or... what had been injured. What the hell? Hadn't it just been burned away a few minutes ago? Alex wanted to ask, but a part of him dared not to.

Quinn let out another quiet sigh, shaking her head a little. "They're out of town for their relative's funeral," she said sadly, pulling her left hand into a fist. She should have been with them...why wouldn't anyone in their family accept her? Was it because of the state that they had found her in, the fact that she wasn't a stupid human?! The girl growled accidentally and released her fist, cracking her fingers and looking up at the man as he spoke again. His head was tilted in that cute way that her cat, Ember, did when he was hungry.... He would find her no matter where she ended up. Hopefully she wouldn't hurt him. The man sounded almost nervous as he spoke- maybe it was awkwardness she was hearing. Quinn's eyes widened a little when he asked if she wanted to stay with him, though. Her arm flared again, small tongues of fire licking at the edges of the wound briefly before fading as quickly as they had appeared. She giggled quietly, then burst into laughter at the thought. She most definitely was acting like she was insane now.
The girl jumped off of the bed and looked up at the man, smiling at him sweetly, the colour of her irises flaring as if they were themselves burning. "As much as my humanness cries for me to accept your offer, I'm afraid I can't- for your benefit." She was angry- angry at the boys who had ruined her and her home and the rain and the hospital for not having what she needed. Angry that her family was gone and couldn't take her with them, that her cat didn't have a home to go to, that she didn't have a home to go to. Her voice had changed, a little bit, from the dainty timbre it normally had to a small, almost dangerous sound. Still quiet, still gentle, but somewhat chilling at the same time. She spoke again, the ends of her hair catching fire and losing it repeatedly as she tried not to get too angry. "I really do appreciate the gesture, but neither you nor the hotel you're staying in can handle me, not tonight." Quinn had noticed him glance at her arm. Took him long enough. "Do you have any idea what my temperature is right now?" She pointed at the monitor with her burned arm, putting her other hand on her hip. "Almost 120. I shouldn't be alive...right?" She cocked her head a little. "And aren't you wondering how my arm could possibly have...reformed..so quickly? Don't feel bad, I'm sure anyone else in your situation would. The answer is simple- I'm not exactly human." She fought to stay as relaxed as possible, taking a deep breath through her nose to calm her nerves. Her voice softened back to its normal, as did her hair and her eyes, while she watched the man, gauging his reaction.
"I'm sick. I have a fever. And my arm is practically flammable ash. I'm also quite dry, right now at least. All of this together means that I am a walking tinderbox. As my fever gets worse, I'll start to lose control of myself, control of my power- a kind of delirium, if you will. And until my fever breaks, I could potentially burn down the building..or worse..." Quinn looked away, her cheeks heating slightly. "..I might hurt you. If I allow myself to go with you, you won't be granted the luxury of sleep for a whole night, maybe two or three. I'll need constant supervision, I'll need to be taken care of as if I were a child, and above all, I'll need to be kept almost soaking wet if the hotel has a hope of remaining standing. That's too much to ask of anybody, and you've already done enough. I suggest you go to your hotel, look for a ticket back to Phoenix, and pretend that you never met the..'girl on fire'."
Quinn walked back to the bed and sat down, looking away from the man with an embarrassment that showed clearly on her face. The monitor beeped- 119 degrees. Her arm was itching with a lingering burn, an irritating pain that was only a weak preview of what was to come. She put her hands together in her lap, pulling them into fists and releasing them again quickly as she waited to see what the man would do.

Alex seemed even more confused when this woman started to laugh. What was so funny? He watched her with a curious gaze, his eyes catching glimpses of... was that fire? His benefit? Exactly what was that suppose to mean, was she a criminal of sorts? As she continued, Alex got his answers quickly enough. She wasn't human then... that explained the wound, but his expression didn't seem to be one of surprise. More curiosity.
No doubt this woman was expecting some kind of shocked or surprised reaction, she got neither. Instead, Alex chuckled, his eyes looking at the floor as he shook his head. "I suppose you're expecting me to be shocked? Surprised? Concerned for myself? Worried for my safety?" he continued to chuckled and then lifted up his right arm, his hand glinted in the light and many would wonder why that was only to realize it was metal.
"I always knew there was... creatures in this world that weren't... normal, but I tried not to pay much mind to them... but... after the loss of my arm I began to notice things, strange things. Though I push it aside or don't think on it, sometimes I purposely don't notice things... for both their protection and mine. No... I'm not exactly human either." Alex said softly, the chuckling had ceased as he removed his soaked jacket and rolled back his right sleeve revealing his metal arm that went past the elbow where his sleeve stopped. "Want to know what chopped my arm off? Dragons... which... I soon found out to be called Draconians. Met them in Mississippi... nice folks when you don't stumble into them out of the blue." Alex explained and let his sleeve fall back down. His shirt was wet as well, but not as much as his jacket... but it didn't seem to bother him.
Alex stared at the woman for a long minute and then raised his left hand and without much effort, a flicker of flame burst to life in his palm. His eyes went to it and it seemed to engulf his hand, something that would burn most people but he seemed unaffected by it. He clenched his hand shut and the fire licked away, fading out of existence. "I was... how would I say it... blessed by the Draconians. Magic can do many things..." he began and then put his hands back in his pockets, "They allowed me to... join them I guess you could say. They turned me into one of them." he shrugged as if it was nothing more than a casual statement.

Quinn looked around the room- anywhere except for where the man stood -and eventually located what looked like a sink. She heard the man speak but wasn't completely ready to look at him again, so she got off of the bed once more and walked to the sink, turning on the water and letting it run over her hands. She felt an instant decrease in her power, but less than a minute after she pulled her hands from the tap, all of the droplets on her skin evaporated. But she had stopped paying attention and was looking at the man in slight shock when she realized what he had been saying. He wasn't even slightly afraid? How...how could he not be? Even she was afraid of herself at the moment, but he just...laughed. It felt like he was laughing at her. Quinn shrank back at the sound, looking away as her cheeks turned red. Tears threatened to fall again- gods, she was going to have a splitting headache if things continued like this. Ugh, she had never felt so humiliated in her life!
"I,I...I didn't really...." The girl didn't know what to say in her defense. What could she say? He was right. She thought that he would say no to her for sure once she mentioned that she could hurt him. Everyone else did.... What separated him from any other human? As she wondered, she saw a glint of light from the corner of her eye and looked up against her will. Her eyes widened a little as the man rolled up his sleeve. A metal arm...? That would explain why she couldn't feel any heat from that part of him when he had been carrying her.... Draconians, huh...? Dragon-people? Most certainly would explain his arm.... The sight of the metal sent a shiver down her spine- or maybe it was that fever kicking in again. Now he was Draconian as well. He made fire in his left hand and almost started laughing again. Stupid feve-
"Do you think that's fire?" Quinn asked, eyes flashing brightly as she felt heat coursing through her veins. "Your little flame is nothing like the kind that will come from me tonight. Am I surprised that you aren't worried about yourself? Yes, I am. But not because I expected that you would be- it's because you ought to be that's the cause of my surprise." Her temple throbbed, her arm burned with an uncomfortable heat, one that wasn't welcome. Her hair lit again, but not with a red flame, oh no. The flames that licked at her hair, that caught on the ash on her arm were blue and burned hot. Her irises were a dance of gold with flashes of blue. It was the beginning of the end for that poor, poor hospital room....
Quinn pressed the heels of her hands into her forehead suddenly and cried out, gritting her teeth and fumbling with the handles for the sink. She managed to get the cold water on and splashed some onto her face, the fires on her body going out instantly. She gripped the side of the sink and hung her head, her breathing laboured with the effort it had taken to regain control of herself. She pushed every negative thought she could out of her head and turned around to face the Draconian man, opening her eyes- which hadn't stopped "burning" -to look at him. After a moment, she took a deep breath.
"...I'm Quinn, I'm from a race called the Solaris. My friends call me Jacy- call me whatever you want. And Mr. Draconian, I would greatly appreciate it if you let me stay with you until I can find somewhere to stay on my own. But only let me if you understand that taking me in isn't going to be some..picnic. I may be an adult, but tonight, I'm going to turn into a very, very dangerous child. You CAN'T sleep, and you CAN'T slack off, else you may endanger yourself and everybody in the hotel you're staying in. And you may not think that you're in danger, but my fire is a lot hotter than yours. Maybe you can handle it- but I don't want to have to find out whether you can or can't tonight. Do you understand?" Quinn watched the man, wiping sweat off of her forehead as she waited for his reply.

Alex watched the woman with curiosity as she flared up in fire. His eyes glanced to the fire extinguishers hanging from the ceiling, half expecting them to go off, he didn't seem at all concerned about her fire abilities as she practically dowsed herself with water from the sink. He felt a bit saddened by this that she had such difficulties with this element. He could help her... he knew he could. Not just with helping her get better, giving her a place to rest and recover... but with her abilities. If this was a common thing that happened to her, loosing control periodically like that... well, he wouldn't jump to conclusions.
He kept his gaze fixed steadily and casually on the woman who he found out was named Quinn, as she spoke about just what he'd have to do, if he offered her his hotel room. He didn't seem bothered by it at all. Oh... how was he to explain this. No his power with creating fire wasn't brilliant, he has only been a fire draconian for a few years, no where near the amount of time needed to master his skills, but it wasn't just creating fire that he could do. Perhaps... he could... show her?
He walked up to her and gently placed his left hand upon her uninjured shoulder, in both a way to comfort her in hopes she could calm down, and to show her just what he could do. As his hand touched her's she'd most likely feel a... calmness within herself, as if her fire was... tamed. Still powerful as it always had been but would provide the calming feeling of having little worry of setting the building on fire or even lighting herself on fire. "Quinn... yes, I admit I'm no where near mastering my abilities with fire, and though I can make more than a flicker of flame... there are... other things i can do. I can control existing fire, not just my own, others as well. Your fire... will have less likelihood of harming me or the hotel than it does harming you." he said softly, his eyes sincere. "Let me help you... I can't force you to allow that help..." Alex said slowly and then removed his hand from her shoulder, no doubt she'd return to normal as he did so as well. "By the way... the name's Alexander... Alex for short." he smiled.

Quinn jumped when the man touched her shoulder, not expecting him to do something like that. She wished he would stay away, she didn't want him to get hurt...but she did need someplace to stay, and it would benefit her greatly if he would help tame the flames for a couple nights. She wished that she wasn't getting sick, not again.... The last time, the blue flames that left her body hurt her older brother. This man may be Draconian, but would that leave him uninjured? Would it not hurt? Slowly, her worries began to fade from her mind and all that was left was fatigue...and heat. She was calm, but her fever was raging and not even whatever strange thing the man did would be able to stop that. Unless he was a flat out healer. It didn't sound like he understood what was happening to her, although his willingness to help was nothing less than cute. She hadn't meant to insult his fire- under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have said anything like she had done just then. But the stupid fever.... She sighed and looked down as he took his hand from her shoulder. Alex...a good name....
"Alex...." She didn't know what to say. She felt so tired.... "Look, this isn't just a normal control problem. I've been training ever since I can remember, I don't lose control anymore, not normally. I'm sick. My body has been weakened and the fire is going to try and get whatever is in me out. That's what's happening here. I'm being purged of whatever my body is rejecting." Quinn wet her hand again and held it up so that he could see. "See? My fire is rendered useless when I'm wet. Water is its enemy. So it instantly gets rid of it." Even as she spoke, the water evaporated, leaving her hand hot and dry. She easily made a blue flame appear in her hand. "I have complete control of my fire. For now. That delirium from my fever is going to cause me to lose a hold of reality for short amounts of time, and in those times, my fire will burn like crazy because I won't have the sense to hold it back. That's all it is, really.... It's just that me not controlling my fire is really, really bad." Quinn sighed, putting the flame out. "Along with my arm...I don't know how I'm still able to fight the fever. But I can't do it much longer. So please.." She looked up at Alexander pleadingly. "Please help me."

Perhaps Alex had underestimated her power, but this situation wasn't really the best for either of them it seemed. Well, he'd keep his words to himself from now on until Quinn got better. From what she was saying though, Alex would definitely have to keep a close eye on her. Well, it wasn't like he had any big plans for the next couple of days, so a night or two of no sleep wouldn't kill him. He still had to pick up food for Chester though... he couldn't make the poor guy go without a meal for two days. In reality, he wasn't even suppose to have pets in the hotel... but he had no one to look after Chester back in Pheonix so he had no choice but to bring him along.
Alex smiled sympathetically at Quinn, "I'll help you, don't worry about it." he said and glanced around the room, his eyes quickly catching the weather outside. Still raining. Yup... cab it was. "Well... I suppose we can leave whenever you want... but I must warn you, I do need to stop by the grocery store before going back to the hotel, I can't let poor Chester starve." Alex chuckled as he walked over to his jacket and pulled out his cellphone. It was damp but when he opened it everything was still dry. Thank god, he didn't want to worry about getting another phone either.
