Due to passing out during work, a fellow employee had been the one to get Cain to the hospital. Though if he had been awake for that trip he would've protested. He was fine, always was. Sure he didn't look like he was to a lot of people due to how pale he was along with weak. Though that was just due to what he did for his sister. If she went after humans it would end badly, people would come after her and kill her for what she was wouldn't they? If she bite him wouldn't it turn him? That was a risk but he managed to work around it to provide for his sister. Hence all the scars on his palms from cutting his hands. It was the only thing that he could think of, after all he couldn't go to the hospital and purchase a pouch that had blood in it. He couldn't go anywhere to get that. It was a tough situation but Cain would do what he could for her.
The two siblings lived together due to her new state. She couldn't go out during the day, not without the risk of dying. Maybe if she hide her skin under clothes completely she stood a small chance of not frying but of course, she wouldn't be able to be out for long even if she did that and it worked. Getting out of the hospitial had taken longer than he wanted, he was stuck there for a few hours and the staff didn't really want him to go. But he managed to convince them to let him go. He was just leaving the hospital before he paused, put a hand to his mouth, and started coughing. Just great.

Thressa had been walking around town, she had the day off and she had been looking for Reid. Honestly she didn't want to bring him in anymore, not since she had found out she was related to him. She had no idea where he was at and she was just walking in front of the hospital when she saw a man standing outside coughing.
Normally she wouldn't have thought anything of it, just the fact that he was coughing wasn't anything horrible, but he looked weak and sickly, just all around like he should be in the hospital not standing outside.
"Sir are you okay?" She asked as she walked over to him. Today she just looked like a normal person, wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

His coughing started to subside as a woman approached him, though he waited a few moments. Just to make sure he wouldn't start coughing in the middle of a sentence. When he was sure that it wouldn't start up again, he removed his hand from his mouth and gave a kind smile as he waved to her, revealing the scarred up palm.
"I'm alright, thank you." Cain answered with the kind smile on his face.
In reality, it was clear to anyone that he wasn't fine. Many of his coworkers had tried to get him to take the day off due to his coughing fits. Winter was almost here and the cold weather never agreed with him anymore. Sure as a kid, he was fine with it. But everything changed after his sister was turned and due to him constantly cutting his hands opened so his sister could have blood, it weakened him considerably.
"Are you waiting for someone to come out?" Cain asked as he stood up straight once more. "Or are you a bit lost?"

Thressa looked questioningly at the man in front of her as he was quiet a moment before speaking. She wondered silently if she should go get one of the staff but then she smiled and spoke. She did notice his scarred palm but she didn't know what to make of it.
"You don't look alright, but your welcome," She said with concern in her voice. She went to stand by him concern in her eyes but smiling.
It was very clear to Thressa that he wasn't fine, he looked almost dead to her! He was so pail it was ridiculous and she still thought he should be in the hospital, she guessed it was his choice though. She kept her smiled and wondered what he was doing here, he soon asked her that question.
"Actually I've been looking for someone. I've been searching the town on my days off but I haven't had much luck yet," She said honestly. She left out the part that it had been an experiment that she had been in charge of when it escaped. She didn't like going into detail about that, it might freak people out. "Why are you here?" She asked curiously.
"Oh and my name's Thressa, what's yours?" She asked, she couldn't believe she had forgotten introductions.

"I assure you I am." Cain started in response.
Sure he really should be in the hospital but he couldn't leave his sister for too many nights. IT was due to her need of blood. She had to have blood every so often and really, she didn't want to hurt anyone. It was hard enough for him to convince her to let him do what he was currently doing for her. There were times she still protested it but he won in the end.
"Oh. Perhaps you should go to the police and show them a photo? That would help widen your search. More eyes to look around where you can't always go." Cain suggested, still with the smile. "Oh. Well.....a coworker overreacted when I passed out and she drove me here. Took a while to convince the nurse and doctors I was fine and I just got out."
You couldn't blame his coworker for 'overreacting'. Since many had been trying to get him to take the day off due to his appearance and his actual passing out during work hours. It was enough to make anyone think something awful was happening. Course the doctors and nurses were a much harder ball game. Insisting he had to rest and all that stuff.
"I'm Cain." Cain replied. "It's nice to meet you."

Thressa just shrugged at his assurance, he must just be one of those people who were pail naturally. She wasn't around many people, well normal people, because of where she worked and because of that she wasn't used to much of anything about people anymore.
"I've actually tried, the person I'm looking for is making himself very hard to find," she said with a smile. She had to give it to Reid, AXIUM wasn't going to find him easily. Of course that meant that she wasn't going to find him easily to be able to tell him what she knew now either.
"Why did you pass out?" She asked simply. She was curious about the man in front of her, he was strange with the pail skin, she had never seen anyone like him before. "I also noticed your hand had quite a few scars on it earlier, what happened?" Her inquisitive side was showing through, she had a feeling that side came from being a scientist.
"It's nice to meet you to," she said with an actual smile, one that showed even in her eyes. What about this strange person was giving her some small amount of joy?

"Oh....well hopefully you'll find him." Cain replied.
If the person was making it hard for themself to be found, that did suggest a few things. Perhaps the man was unable to let their whereabouts to be known? Or they were being forced to keep a low profile? Many possibilities and hopefully none were the bad kind. After all, why look for someone if you didn't care about them? This woman had to care in some way right? A light laugh left him as he tried to think of a reason. Well a reason that would allow for him to keep his sister's secret.
"Oh well.....I guess I've just been working too hard and not getting enough sleep." Cain replied. "Well technically it's both hands and it's from a lot of broken glass, my sister and I used to live further south, got a lot of hurricanes and picking up glass does this to ya."
He held up both hands as he spoke, showing her that it was indeed on both palms. Another lie. His sister and him didn't live in the south, they didn't have the accent there. Heck, they didn't have a accent. It was just a lie. Something to try and hope that it would work. Giving a smile as Thressa gave her own smile. However it was short lived as he put a hand to his mouth and started to cough again. A bit harder than he was before.

"Hopefully, I have something I need to tell him," she said frowning slightly.
Reid was honestly being smart by making himself hard to find, he didn't want to be taken back to AXIUM and that was understandable. Honestly, after breaking out, who would want to go back? She hadn't been exactly kind to him, no scientist was ever kind to an experiment that wasn't theirs.
"Maybe you should take some vacation time?" She asked at his comment about working to hard, if that was honestly what was making him sick like this and pass out he needed the time off. "Wow that must have been a lot of glass to pick up, it must have hurt to get cut by it that much.," she stated in awe.
When he held up his hands she noted that it really was both hands. It was odd that he didn't sound like he was from further south, honestly she didn't want to question it though. She didn't know what else to ask, then he started coughing again.
"Okay what's wrong? Your having coughing fits to much for it to be nothing and honestly you look horrible," she said honestly, he looked sick to the point of near death! She wasn't cautious with her words but she was being honest. She fell silent while being impatient for his answer to her last question.

"I have no other means of income and I need to help my sister out so really, I can't afford to take time off." Cain answered through coughing.
Though due to the coughing, he ended up having a hard time to breath. His chest was starting to hurt due to the coughing and he put his free hand to his chest, grabbing hold of the cloth of the shawl and the turtleneck underneath it. He'd have to start wearing that trench coat soon. In order to reply Thressa's reaction to the glass and his hands, he could only nod. It hurt to cut his hands open but he was growing used to it. It was for the greater good after all.
"I'm....n..not us...used to th....this col...." Cain gasped through, though he held up his free hand and took a seat on the ground.
