The red and purple hellhound pup was just playing around, chasing butterflies and stalking other bugs. If his old man saw him, he'd probably be ashamed. But the youngster didn't need to worry about that. His birth parents were a mystery to him. The only kind of parent he had was a human and....she wasn't around no more. The youngster ended up slamming into the turn of the tree face first. Four emerald eyes closed as he rolled down and ended up in a sitting position as he opened his eyes. Shaking his head, the youngster just sat there. His ears lowered as he sat there, saddened by the fact that the only thing close to family he had was gone. However as a yellow butterfly fluttered across his face, his emerald eyes widened and he went back to chasing it.
After chasing it for a few moments, he ended up ramming into something else. Though instead of tumbling, he just landed on the ground and let out a slight yip in surprise.

Finally, after hours of whining Jesse let Gil go out on his own. Unfortunately, the only place he was allowed to go was the park. Guillotine would sneak off elsewhere but he still have that damn tracking device inside him. Suppose this was better than nothing? At least he could get some much needed sun bathing done. The male looked around for a nice place to sit when something ran into him.
“What the hell!?” Guillotine exclaimed. He spun around to see a tiny little pooch sitting there. If it wasn’t for the puppy’s strange appearance Gil would have just scared it away. What was a hellhound doing here in the park? Was this pup stupid or what? Gil looked around to make sure he was the only one there. He knew knelt down and looked the pup over. After giving him a stern look Gil said. “You shouldn’t be here. What if a human sees you?” The hound growled. His tone then turned harsh. “Are you stupid or something, Runt?” Where was this puppy's pack? Guillotine wasn't in the mood to puppy-sit.

"I lived with a human before.....she was fine with it." Balto replied as his ears slanted. "D...Don't see any problem with it."
Balto lived with a human all his life. So what if humans saw him? She was fine with him being himself. Though the youngster didn't like it that Guil called him stupid. The four eyes did a slight glare to Guil.
"Why should you care? You don't." Balto said before he turned round and walked away.
Though the youngster didn't get far and was really still in sight. Taking a seat by a tree, he laid down and just stared out at the grass. Why did she have to go? She was always happy when he was around. So why did she leave?

Guillotine scratched the back of his head. He couldn't help but to wonder where this pup’s pack was. Surely, he had to have one. The smaller pup didn’t look rough like a stray, he had to have someone taking care of him. More questions seemed to rise with little to no answers. Fortunately, the pup decided to speak up. He stated that he had a human. Oh boy, this pup a human caretaker? Guillotine was expecting the little guy to have a pack not a human. Nevertheless, Gil wouldn’t scrutinize the hound for it. After all he was living with a human himself.
When the pup went on to say that his human was okay with it Gil’s mouth dropped open. His eye brows then furrowed. “Was your human stupid or something? You aren’t supposed to show your true form out in public.” Gil stopped, realizing what he had just said. The puppy was like him back when he was free. Before that everyone told him not to transform in the streets. But of course he did it anyway. Now Gil was telling the same thing to a pup. Man, this was weird. He was sounding just like the people at the PIDA. Gil shook the thought from his head and continued. “You are going to get yourself kil-” The hound finally silenced himself before the pup spoke again. And with that he waked away. Guillotine began to growl, watching as the little pup scampered away.
Gil followed. “Of course I don’t care. Not about you anyway.” He lied through his fangs. His tone was harsh, though deep down he meant well. Guillotine approached the young hound once again. He was so tempted to scuff the little guy but refrained from doing so. “I suppose it wouldn’t be my problem if you ended up dead, you little shi-” Gil stopped his ranting once he began to feel the sorrow wafting off the smaller beast. He did look rather upset. The male sighed. “So, where is your human now? Guillotine never was good with pups.

"SHE WASN'T!!!" Balto snapped back at Guil from his spot.
Four emerald eyes glared at Guil as he snapped at him. Though he turned his head away and set it down on his paws. His tail swished as he laid there. Though his ears lowered as Guil asked the question. He didn't look back at the older hound. There was no reason to.
"Dead..." Balto answered in a low voice, though Guil whould still be able to hear him.
Gone....just gone... Balto thought in his head.

Guillotine’s tall frame grew tense as the young beast yelled. The hound had been startled by the smaller hound’s roar. The male then rolled his eyes. “Fine, fine she isn't stupid.” Guillotine crossed his arms and leaned against the tree. He watched as the smaller hound looked away before the look of sorrow crossed his face. Gil cocked his head. Soon enough Gil found out why the hound had gotten so upset. His human had died.
“O-Oh…” Gil replied, his tone sounding a bit awkward. So that was why the little pup was all alone. Did his human not tell him not to show his fluffy face in public? Perhaps her death was untimely? Gil looked away for a moment. The then shook off the sad feeling and said, “Human or not, you cannot just stay out here alone pup. There are people out here who can hurt you.”

"Nowhere else to go. Her apartment's been given away." Balto responded. "Thought you said you didn't care?"
Didn't the man say that a moment or two ago? If so, then why would he care if people would hurt him? Balto didn't even know this man and this man didn't know him. He just found him, they've only meet. Sure he found a broken down place where no one lived but how long would that last? Only a matter of time before someone arrived and thus found him there. Then what? What would happen then?

Guillotine cleared his throat when the smaller hound spoke. Of course Guil wouldn’t admit it but deep down, under all that instinct he did care somewhat for the little hellhound. The pup had reminded him of himself when he had first came to this realm. So he was so young and naive. Much like this pup here. The hound sighed. It appeared that his company was beginning to catch on. “Right, I don’t care. I’m just curious is all.” Guillotine lied. The tall male looked down and the pup. Could he really allow him to live on the streets alone? Certainly, he couldn’t take him back to Jesse’s place.
Scratching the light stubble on his chin, the hound began to think of a new course of action. Nothing came to mind right away, so Gil did the next best thing. He would try to get to know this hound a bit. “Now, I am curious. What is your name, pup?”

Curious huh? And here the young hellhound pup thought he was the curious kind. Ears twitched to the man's question. A rather simple thing to know. At least he had some sort of place to go to, but he wouldn't tell the man that. After all, who liked living in a broken down house where no one else really lived?
"Balto." Balto replied. "And your's?"
After all, wasn't it only fair to exchange names if one asked for it? Balto gave the man what he wanted now he could answer what the youngster wanted. A exchange of information if you will. If he wasn't so sad right now, he would've been more energetic and questioning.

“Balto?” It was a rather interesting name. It was one he'd never heard before. Then again, Gil’s past pack members did have rather unusual names. Havoc, Roach, Cutter, Napalm and Tank weren't exactly your run of the mill canine names. Guillotine wasn’t exactly a common either. The hellhound looked little Balto over. The poor pup didn’t seem to have a care in the world. What Gil would give to feel such freedom again. Alas, he wouldn’t as long as he had that damn tracking chip in his neck.
Guillotine shook the feeling of sorrow off like a wet dog. Soon after the little hellhound asked for his name. Seeing as this was another one of his kind Gil wouldn't give the pup his alias, Gilbert. Instead he would give his real name. “My name is Guillotine, but most people just call me Gil.” The tall male looked around again to make sure no one was watching. The park seemed fairly empty for the most part. The hound sighed, he was about to do something stupid. Exchanging names didn’t feel proper to Gil. He wanted to say hello in a more natural way. Even if it was to cost him his job. With instinct pulling the reigns, Gil was about to go against his own rules and transform in public.
The tall man took a step back. Then in a matter of moments his body erupted into a tower of flames. When the flames died down a large, scaly canine stood in his place. Guillotine’s pointed ears where pricked forward, and his tail swayed behind him. Man, he really hoped the PIDA didn’t catch him doing this. Without hesitating, Guillotine trotted forward and began to sniff the smaller caine’s backside. Suppose they really weren’t so different from the average canine? With a toothy grin Gil said in a demonic tone, “It is nice to see another hellhound for once. I don’t see too many of us around anymore.”

"Yeah, she gave me the name." Balto answered as his ears twitched.
It was the only name she had given him and thus he had no alias like Guilotine had. Though hearing the name of the man, it caused him to be slightly confused. He heard that word before. But.....he couldn't remember what the word had meant. Oh well. Though his nose twitched as the smell of fire hit him, raising his head he soon looked behind himself and his eyes a bit wide. Jumping into the air, he moved a bit away with a confused look on his face.
He had never seen another hellhound before, in fact he didn't even know that is what he was. Tilting his head as he stood there, he couldn't help but stare at the older hound.
"H...Hellhound?" Balto asked.
